The study of cross-regional environmental spillover effects can reveal the spatial information of pollution, and helps to promote regional environmental governance under inter-government cooperation. Based on the non-linear granger causality test and social network analysis, we constructed and analyzed the network of cross-regional environmental spillover effects and the driving factors of the network structure. The results showed that Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Jiangsu, and Shandong have the most significant spatial spillover effects of environmental pollution to other provinces. GDP, foreign direct investment (FDI), wage levels (WL) and infrastructure levels (IFL) could explain 61.7% of the variance in the cross-regional environmental effects. Among them, GDP was the most powerful explanation for the network, and FDI, WL, and IFL were the main factors that affect the network's relationship. Finally, based on the above empirical results, this paper put forward the policy recommendations of cross-regional environmental governance. Therefore, in the development of regional economic growth targets, we should take full account of the constraints of regional ecological environment carrying capacity, to further improve the regional industrial production methods to promote the balanced development of cross-regional industries. Implications: As a relationship, the environmental spillover effect links the environmental emissions from different regions into a system, which is represented by the Network of Environmental Spillover Effects (NESE). The change of its structure will have an impact on the status, function and role of each region in the network structure, thus affecting the environmental changes in the region. This paper addresses the question, "does market work improve women's household status in rural China?" using survey data of men and women working in Township and Village Enterprises in rural Jiangsu and Shandong. This paper measures household status by domestic labor time, responsibility for domestic tasks, and household decision-making control. It finds that women have lower household status than men, using these three indicators. Based upon regression results, this paper concludes that for women market wages reduce domestic work time and responsibility for domestic tasks but market hours do not. The nature of bargaining warrants further research since the evidence that financial resources contribute to increased household decision-making control is mixed. Should employment opportunities for women increase with China's membership in the WTO, improvements in women's household status will depend upon their wages and the gender wage gap. As the goal of carbon neutrality has been proposed consecutively, renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, and bioenergy are gaining close attention in national strategic and sustainable development plans. Along with the development of renewable energy generation technologies, it is necessary to assess the environmental burden of renewable energy generation. This study analyzed the economic and environmental benefits of wind power, solar power, and biomass power generation methods over their life cycle. This paper comprehensively assessed and compared their environmental impacts based on a life cycle assessment (LCA) framework combined with ecological footprint analysis for the three renewable energy generation in China, and compared the results with those of thermal power generation to make strategic suggestions for the renewable energy power generation industry. The results show that: (1) wind power consumed the least energy, only 6.80 kJ/kW·h, and had the lowest emissions of CO 2 , SO 2 , NOx and CO and environmental impact potential. (2) Based on the ecological footprint analysis on the provincial level, only Anhui, Shandong and Jiangsu provinces showed ecological deficits, while the other provinces were in ecological surplus, mostly above 50% of their ecological areas. (3) Compared to thermal power generation, which consumed 1170.911 kJ/kW·h, wind power was the only one of the three renewable energy achieved a reduction in energy consumption. With the rapid development of urbanization and population migration, since the 20th century, the natural and eco-environment of coastal areas have been under tremendous pressure due to the strong interference of human response. To objectively evaluate the coastal eco-environment condition and explore the impact from the urbanization process, this paper, by integrating daytime remote sensing and nighttime remote sensing, carried out a quantitative assessment of the coastal zone of China in 2000–2019 based on Remote Sensing Ecological Index (RSEI) and Comprehensive Nighttime Light Index (CNLI) respectively. The results showed that: 1) the overall eco-environmental conditions in China's coastal zone have shown a trend of improvement, but regional differences still exist; 2) during the study period, the urbanization process of cities continued to advance, especially in seaside cities and prefecture-level cities in Jiangsu and Shandong, which were much higher than the average growth rate; 3) the Coupling Coordination Degree (CCD) between the urbanization and eco-environment in coastal cities is constantly increasing, but the main contribution of environmental improvement comes from non-urbanized areas, and the eco-environment pressure in urbanized areas is still not optimistic. As a large-scale, long-term series of eco-environment and urbanization process change analysis, this study can provide theoretical support for mesoscale development planning, eco-environment condition monitoring and environmental protection policies from decision-makers.
