The main objective of this paper is to design a Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) generating multi stop-band and having the property of a large scanning angle from a mixed polarization insensitivity structure for GPS, PCS, WiFi, IEEE S-band radar, 5G mobile phones, (802.11j) WLAN applications. To fulfill the objective, a hexa band-stop FSS has been developed using a novel symmetrical structure with a compact dimension of 0.095 λ 0 × 0.095 λ 0 , where λ 0 is the wavelength of free space at 1st resonant frequency. The proposed FSS covers a broad scanning angle of 60 0 for shielding electromagnetic wave radiation and smaller resonant frequency ratio ( f n + 1 / f n ) to improve compactness under TE and TM polarizations. The six achieved stop frequency bands are 1.36 GHz–1.56 GHz, 1.66 GHz–1.99 GHz, 2.34 GHz–2.46 GHz, 3.08 GHz–3.42 GHz, 3.6 GHz–4.12 GHz and 4.5 GHz–5 GHz for improving shielding performance. In this paper, we introduce LagunAR, a mobile outdoor Augmented Reality (AR) application for providing heritage information and 3D visualization on a city scale. The LagunAR application was developed to provide historical information about the city of La Laguna in the XVI century, when it was the main city in the Canary Islands. The application provides a reconstructed 3D model of the city at that time that is shown on a mobile phone over-imposed on the actual city using geolocation. The geolocated position is used also for providing information of several points of interest in the city. The paper describes the design and implementation of the application and details the optimization techniques that have been used to manage the full information of the city using a mobile phone as a sensor and visualization tool. We explain the application usability study carried out using a heuristic test; in addition it is probed by users in a qualitative user test developed as preliminary research. The researchers' aim to quantitatively study the impacts of education, health expenditure, Internet, mobile phone, and open-access articles in medical science on women's health in China. We found that there are very strong significant negative correlations between the data of women's mortality rates and female school enrollment (p≪0.01), whereas there are strong significant negative correlations for open-access papers in eight disciplines of medical science, individuals using the Internet, and mobile cellular subscriptions (p≪0.01). The first principal component explains 96.8%, 96.6%, and 99.6% of the variation in the mortality rate of female infants (p = 0.002 < 0.01), females under-5 (p = 0.003 < 0.01), and female adults (p = 0.002 < 0.01), respectively. There is a similar relationship between open-access medical papers and women's health. The above results could be helpful to interdisciplinary audiences (patients, practitioners, and policymakers) to develop strategies for the effective implementation of knowledge on women's health (how to disseminate knowledge more effectively in the whole society). The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of airflow obstruction and associated risk factors among study participants. Data were collected and compared using a paper questionnaire and mobile phone technology. The pilot study was carried out among adult residents of two communities in Nigeria and Benin Republic. A paper questionnaire and a mobile phone containing the same information were used to interview the respondents with spirometry testing between the two interviews. Data collected were analysed using SPSS version 16. Kappa statistics was used to test the agreement between the data collected using the paper questionnaire and the mobile phone. One hundred respondents comprising of 56 males and 44 females, with a mean age of 45.4±16.8 years participated in the study. Fifteen selected variables showed varying levels of agreement ranging from slight to perfect agreement between data collected using the two methods. The respiratory symptoms identified were cough (18%), phlegm (18%), wheeze (8%), and shortness of breath (30%). Wood was the major type of fuel used for cooking by the respondents (59.0%). Only 42 spirograms passed quality control and only 2 (4.8%) showed features of airflow obstruction. The study revealed that there was an agreement between data collected using mobile phones and the traditional paper questionnaire. The prevalence of risk factors for airflow obstruction was high among the respondents. We recommend that the use of mobile phones in data collection should be promoted and employed in large-scale surveys in all developing countries of the world. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Internet, the new mobile devices and cloud storage are changing the way in which people deal with information; we still need great storage capacity and information readers but we also value ubiquity and data synchronization between the different devices that we are using. Access has become more important than storage. The web as a tool is leading to the obsolescence of digital media that are just 20 years old and boosts the multimedia possibilities of paper, an analog medium that facilitates the relationship between people and mobile devices. Objective As society becomes more interconnected with technology, it is important to examine how traditional "paper and pencil" administered neuropsychological tests can be utilized in digital electronic forms (e.g. computers, touch screen tablets, and smartphones). Literature has shown somewhat mixed outcomes for the validity of computerized tests. Gathering data electronically has been found to reduce human error in both test administration and in data collection itself. Digitizing carries benefits in the research field where electronic administration may make it possible to gather data on a larger scale numerically and geographically. However, in some conversions to digital versions of a task, changes may be made to the stimuli and procedure that might seemingly be benign, but could activate different cognitive responses, potentially compromising construct validity. This study examined the comparability of paper and electronic forms of the Stroop task, which is used widely and has been previously validated in paper form. Method Electronic Stroop tests were examined for concurrent validity with a paper version. Two touch-screen based apps were examined: BrainBaseline for the iPad and EncephalApp for smartphone. Young and older adults (n = 58) completed paper and an electronic version of the Stroop. Results Correlation analyses revealed a significant, but modest relationship between paper Stroop and the BrainBaseline version (r =.54; p =.001), while the EncephalApp correlation was non-significant (r =.44; p =.18). Conclusions These results need to be verified in a larger sample, but the implication is that some paper and electronic versions of cognitive tests are not necessarily interchangeable, and caution should be used. The article suggests that additional procedures must be standardized and implemented when using computer-based examinations. Topics discussed include the similarity in the creation, delivery and proctoring of computer-based and paper-based testing as well as the importance of testing environments ensuring academic integrity without implying student mistrust. The rapid development of mobile intelligence and wearable computing promotes the rise of quantified-self. Users quantify themselves and realize self-tracking and self-cognition through the connection between mobile phone terminals and wearable computing devices. The characteristics of immersive quantified information design in the convergence mode of mobile intelligence and wearable computing attract many users to immerse into it. Based on the stimulus-body-response (S-O-R) model, this paper constructs an influence mechanism model that affects the immersive experience of quantified-self and adopts empirical research methods. This paper analyzes the influence of the information platform and content characteristics (interaction, ease of use, usefulness, entertainment) of the convergence of mobile intelligence and wearable computing on users' immersive experience of quantified-self and the moderating effect of privacy concern and potential affordance on immersive experience and continuous participation. The results show that interaction, ease of use, usefulness, and entertainment all have a significant impact on users' quantified-self immersive experience, and the influence is in the order of usefulness>ease of use>entertainment>interaction. Potential affordance and privacy concerns play a significant role in regulating the state of immersion and continuous participation. The conclusion of this study not only analyzes the influencing factors of users' immersive experience of quantified-self from the characteristics of the convergence of mobile intelligence and wearable computing but also analyzes the relationship between users' immersive experience of quantified-self and continuous participation from the perspective of potential affordance and privacy concerns. It provides opinions and suggestions for the interaction design and user information management of the convergence of mobile intelligence and wearable computing and has practical reference significance for related enterprises to improve user stickiness. The COVID-19 pandemic increased demands for respiratory disease testing to facilitate treatment and limit transmission, demonstrating in the process that most existing test options were too complex and expensive to perform in point-of-care or home scenarios. Lab-based molecular techniques can detect viral RNA in respiratory illnesses but are expensive and require trained personnel, while affordable antigen-based home tests lack sensitivity for early detection in newly infected or asymptomatic individuals. The few home RNA detection tests deployed were prohibitively expensive. Here, we demonstrate a point-of-care, paper-based rapid analysis device that simultaneously detects multiple viral RNAs; it is demonstrated on two common respiratory viruses (COVID-19 and influenza A) spiked onto a commercial nasal swab. The automated device requires no sample preparation by the user after insertion of the swab, minimizing user operation steps. We incorporated lyophilized amplification reagents immobilized in a porous matrix, a novel thermally actuated valve for multiplexed fluidic control, a printed circuit board that performs on-device lysis and amplification within a cell-phone-sized disposable device. Reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) products are visualized via fluorescent dyes using a modified cell phone, resulting in detection of as few as 104 viral copies per swab across both pathogens within 30 minutes. This integrated platform could be commercialized in a form that would be inexpensive, portable, and sensitive; it can readily be multiplexed to detect as many as 8 different RNA or DNA sequences, and adapted to any desired RNA or DNA detection assays. This paper explores the distribution pattern of SAR1g within the adult male head during utilization of hands-free operation of contemporary mobile phones as a source of electromagnetic radiation. The research assesses the optimal positioning of the mobile phone by examining three distinct orientations to determine the minimal SAR1g distribution compared to the conventional talking position when hands-free feature is not utilized. Advancement in mobile phone (MP) technology has revolutionized the lifestyle. In recent years, we observed that MP technology had been involved in almost all aspects of life, such as communication purposes, e-commerce, mobile baking, and social media connectivity. So, it becomes a hot research topic to select the best MP that fulfills the desired feathers requirement. In this paper, the expert's familiarity with the examined objects is factored into the initial judgments under the T-spherical fuzzy sets (T-SFSs) environment. The T-SFS is the extension of the picture fuzzy (PF) set (PFS), which gives wider scope for finding the most precise options than existing fuzzy frameworks. The multiattribute decision-making (MADM) is a common and valuable method for aggregating information. For MADM, various aggregation operators (AOs) have been created over the years. The article introduces the newly proposed approach T-spherical fuzzy (T-SF) confidence level weighted averaging T − SFWA c and T-SF confidence level weighted geometric T − SFWG c . Also, some desired properties of AOs are discussed, and the T-SF entropy measure is introduced for selecting the weight criteria. A MADM framework is introduced, on the behalf of proposed operators. The proposed MADM framework is applied to solve the real-life example of consumers' preferences to show effectiveness and practicality. The paper presents the analysis of single-point GPS positioning results obtained from smartphones, using code observations on the L1 and L5 frequencies. In this research we used two Huawei P30 Pro mobile phones and one geodetic receiver (Javad Alpha) acting as the reference receiver. Smartphones were placed at an equal distance of 0.5 m from this receiver. Such a close distance was specially planned by the authors in order to achieve identical observation conditions. Thus, it was possible to compare the accuracy of GPS positioning using pseudoranges on the L1 and L5 frequencies for individual observation epochs. The analysis was carried out from static GPS positioning, using the results from the open-source RTKLib software. In general, the usefulness of code measurements on the L5 frequency to determine the GPS position made it possible to increase the accuracy by several times with respect to the positions determined using the C/A code on the L1 frequency. Average errors of horizontal and vertical coordinates were about 70 % lower for the GPS solution using the L5 code observations than using the L1 code observations. Based on statistical analysis, a horizontal accuracy of about 0.45 m and vertical accuracy of about 1.8 m (STDEV) with only five GPS satellites may be obtained using a smartphone with L5 code observations. This article presents the Motor Transport Institute's research to set out road safety indicators of behaviors and opinions on one of the increasingly important road traffic problems. Two types of studies on the unsafe use of mobile phones and others on board devices (distraction) by road users in Poland between 2014 and 2023 are presented. Safety Performance Indicators (SPI) on handheld mobile phone use from roadside observations and declared opinions on talking, reading messages, checking social media/news, and listening to headphones while driving, cycling, and walking are presented. Overall, 306,240 passenger car drivers observed on all road types all week long in Poland showed a dropping trend (1.8%) between before the study in 2014 SPI 4.1% distracted drivers to SPI 2.3% after the study in 2022. More drivers used mobile phones on single carriageways both in built-up and outside built-up areas. On motorways outside built-up areas, where vehicles are speeding, drivers of passenger cars rarely talk on their handheld mobiles. Results from the first European Union (EU) Baseline project to collect road indicators produced a Key Performance Indicator of 3.8% distracted passenger car (all types of roads, all weekdays and weekend) from 44,011 observed in Poland in 2021. Results from the EU project E-Survey on Road Users' Attitude, third edition (ESRA3), showed declared opinions of mobile use while driving, cycling, and walking down the street in Poland in 2023 compared to 2018 (ESRA2). A positive trend is seen among car drivers who declared lower use of handheld mobile phones than in 2018 (a drop of 11.2%). The survey showed Polish cyclist used more often headphones to listen to music, checked news and messages than cyclists in Europe in 2023. More by 10.1% pedestrians in Europe than in Poland declared checking social media/news, reading messages/emailing while walking down the street in 2023. This lower rate in Poland can be explained by pedestrian's legal prohibition of mobile phone use while crossing the street since 2021. There is strong support for policy measures forbidding all drivers of motorized vehicles to use handheld mobile phone use while driving in all of Europe. Enforcement measures are twice as strong in Europe than in Poland. As the number of accidents and fatalities on distraction is unknown, calculating SPI during roadside observations and questionnaire surveys gives in-depth knowledge of the problem. Mobile phones have become almost ubiquitous, including the lives of parents of young children. This paper examined the question of how parents with young children living in Norway perceive their phone usage. Twelve parents were interviewed individually about situations and for what purposes they used their phones, whether they had discussed mobile media with others and how they felt about it. Interviews were analyzed thematically. Parentsreported using their phones mainly for information seeking and communication and networking in their role as parents. Mobile phones were evaluated as positive or helpful to parents. However, situations that were deemed to require parents’ focused attention,such as playing or book-reading were considered inappropriate for using mobile phones, as were mealtimes. Situations in which children were occupied with playing or watching TV were considered acceptable for using mobile phones. Visitsto the playground seemed controversial and situational. Being present emerged as a major theme of good parenting and even though brief and important usages of the phone were considered somewhat acceptable while with children, many parents reported feeling guilty about their usage. Several usage reduction strategies were described such as muting the phone or certain notifications or putting the phone away. Despite national guidelines recommending the topic, the majority had not received information about parentalscreen use fromhealth care personnel. In contrast,manyhad discussed the topic with friends and family members, sometimes controversially. This paper presents a dual‐band multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) antenna pair for 5G cell phones. The antenna pair consists of two planar concave antenna elements that are tightly arranged on a vertical substrate. By adding capacitors to form a resonant network, an additional operating mode is excited, resulting in dual‐band performance. The resonant frequency of the additional mode can be adjusted independently by changing the capacitance value. Moreover, a neutralization line is used to improve the isolation of the high band without affecting the low band. The antenna pair occupies a small area of 13.2 × 6.3 mm2 and operates at both 3.5 and 4.85 GHz bands. The isolations are better than 17 dB at the 3.5 GHz band and better than 19 dB at the 4.85 GHz band. The proposed dual‐band antenna pair might be a good choice for 5G terminals. Although there is an ageing population in Europe which acts as an increasingly influential social and economic force, there remains limited scholarship concerning the involvement of older people in research. This paper responds to the question of how visual participatory research engages older people through three illustrative case studies, set in England and Italy, all of which incorporated different visual elements within their participatory design. These cases highlight; the value of the visual as a trigger for memories as an entry point for research discussions, that the sharing of experiences is facilitated by both the participatory and visual elements of the approach and that greater engagement is forthcoming once trust is established through the socialisation of older research participants. In this essay, I first analyze the extension of hermeneutical interpretation in the Heideggerian sense to products of contemporary technology which are components of our "lifeworld". Products of technology, such as airplanes, laptops, cellular phones, washing machines, or vacuum cleaners might be compared with what Heidegger calls the "Ready-to-hand" (das Zuhandene) with regard to utilitarian objects such as a hammer, planer, needle and door handle in Being and Time. Our life with our equipment, which represents the "Ready-to-hand" in Heidegger's sense of the word, is determined by temporalization (Zeitigung) which cannot be separated and isolated from the wholeness of things in the world. In the second part of my paper, I explore the positive achievement of material hermeneutics (Don Ihde) with regard to its extension to technoscience and the discussion of how such hermeneutics can contribute to the preservation of our threatened lifeworld, but also to explore the possibilities of how technical inventions, medical innovations could improve our way of life. The frequent cable breaks and socket failures experienced by users of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets have become a problem. In this study, wireless charging of mobile phones is provided with inductive coupling. The wireless power transfer (WPT) system has a diameter of 5 cm, operates at 10 MHz, and has an output power of 5 W. The coil design includes a ferrite core and shielding for reducing electromagnetic scattering. The paper used mathematical calculations and simulation tools, including MATLAB, Simulink, Maxwell 3D, and HFSS, to analyze the WPT design and its effects on human health at various conditions. As a result, the magnetic exposure was kept below the limit value in this WPT design, thus protecting the person and the device. In addition, the WPT design achieved high efficiency with a maximum air gap of 2 cm when aligned, and up to 2 cm misalignment at 0.5 cm air gap. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The thermal effects caused by exposure to the electromagnetic (EM) field emitted by the mobile phone antenna have been investigated in the presented paper. A novelty is to study matching of the mobile phone dipole antenna to the free space for the case of a non-homogenous child model with different hand positions and different distances (1mm, 10mm, 20mm) of the mobile phone (with and without hand) from the child's head model; Through computer modeling (using the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method) have been evaluated the EM field energy absorption power by the child model considering the hand influence (holding the mobile phone) and have been conducted a comparative analysis for hand free cases. Because the hand holding the phone absorbs most of the radiation energy emitted by the mobile phone antenna. Studied the dependence of SAR (specific absorption rate SAR-W/kg) on the conditions of matching of the mobile phone antenna with the free space. Developed recommendations for the correct use of a mobile phone to reduce the reactive field near the child head in order to reduce head SAR values. The results of the study are presented below. Almost 200 million persons with disabilities face specific difficulties in everyday life. Private vehicles provide persons with disabilities with a high level of flexibility, a high level of time efficiency, and a better quality of life. It is sometimes necessary to make vehicle modifications to enable persons with disabilities to drive. One of the most frequent modifications is hand controls. Although drivers with disabilities who use hand controls face the same risk of road accidents as non-disabled drivers, predictors of road accidents for drivers with disabilities who use hand controls have not been the subject of earlier research. The predictors show which factors influence the occurrence of road accidents of drivers with disabilities who use hand controls. This paper aims to develop a model that describes the participation in road accidents of drivers with disabilities who use hand controls and recognises contributing predictors. A multidisciplinary team of experts identified twenty-three predictors that impact road accidents of drivers with disabilities who use hand controls. Bayesian logistic regression models have identified speeding, alcohol consumption, mobile phone usage, and especially fatigue as risky behaviours. With the coming of the aging society, the lives and travel of vulnerable groups, especially the elderly, have received unprecedented attention. This paper provides a framework for TOD age inequity research applicable to high-density and public-transport-oriented cities. Our research uses big mobile phone positioning data to extract the age information of TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) station users and uses geographic information and survey data to quantify the TOD service level. Then, we used the Gini coefficient, correlation coefficient analysis, and cluster analysis to explore the differences in TOD resource allocation across age groups on the JR Yamanote Line and part of the JR Chuo line in Tokyo. The results show that inequity exists at the TOD service level regarding user age, and there is a negative correlation between the average age of users and most indicators of TOD. In the clustering results, three unique TOD groups are formed: a) Residence-oriented aging TOD, b) Livable middle-aged TOD, and c) Commuter-oriented young TOD. Based on the research results, we made three suggestions for building an age-friendly TOD: a) More diverse land use, b) Better connectivity between transit nodes and multimodal transportation, and c) Affordable housing cost. • This paper provides a framework for TOD age inequity research applicable to high-density and public-transport-oriented cities. • The TOD user age feature extracted using mobile phone location data is introduced into the node-place model as the third dimension. • The results show that the inequity of TOD resource allocation is related to the average age of users. • The stations are classified into three types, and corresponding optimization suggestions are put forward. This paper offers a nuanced perspective of two families' lockdown literacy journeys with their young children during the COVID 19 pandemic. We present informal home learning examples stimulated by play and by school-sanctioned synchronous and asynchronous activities from homes geographically miles apart yet close in terms of shared experience. In response to the catch-up and learning loss narrative which threatens to overshadow some of the positive learning experiences taking place at home, we redirect the 'catch-up' narrative towards a nuanced understanding of family learning at home by articulating the complexity of circumstance. Methodologically, drawing on Autoethnography, we present vignettes of lockdown life from Scotland and Michigan, USA. Throughout this paper we articulate challenges with the catch-up narrative and root our conclusions in the early childhood philosophy that learning extends beyond the mind to a whole body, holistic experience. The mobile phone enables people to be heard through walls of confinement. During the suspension of visits to immigration detention in the COVID-19 pandemic, mobile phones were a lifeline to family and friends. There is also a long history of people using phones to document and communicate their experience in Australian-run detention to the world. The Australian government's attempts to ban mobile phones in detention provide a lens, and in this paper, a case study, to explore whether immigration detention in Australia is becoming more like prison. I argue that while the official purpose for detention remains administrative not punitive, the proposed mobile phone bans reveal the changing function of detention in Australian border control. Mobile phone bans show how people in influential roles have reimagined the legal subject of detention from the 'asylum seeker' to the 'migrant criminal'. Proposals to ban mobile phones also convey a transformation in how immigration detention is legally conceived – from a civil space under the supervision of police and the general criminal law to a more segregated space ruled from within. Deep Learning (DL) has provided a significant breakthrough in many areas of research and industry. The development of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) has enabled the improvement of computer vision-based techniques, making the information gathered from cameras more useful. For this reason, recently, studies have been carried out on the use of image-based DL in some areas of people's daily life. In this paper, an object detection-based algorithm is proposed to modify and improve the user experience in relation to the use of cooking appliances. The algorithm can sense common kitchen objects and identify interesting situations for users. Some of these situations are the detection of utensils on lit hobs, recognition of boiling, smoking and oil in kitchenware, and determination of good cookware size adjustment, among others. In addition, the authors have achieved sensor fusion by using a cooker hob with Bluetooth connectivity, so it is possible to automatically interact with it via an external device such as a computer or a mobile phone. Our main contribution focuses on supporting people when they are cooking, controlling heaters, or alerting them with different types of alarms. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time a YOLO algorithm has been used to control the cooktop by means of visual sensorization. Moreover, this research paper provides a comparison of the detection performance among different YOLO networks. Additionally, a dataset of more than 7500 images has been generated and multiple data augmentation techniques have been compared. The results show that YOLOv5s can successfully detect common kitchen objects with high accuracy and fast speed, and it can be employed for realistic cooking environment applications. Ground contact time (GCT) is one of the most relevant factors when assessing running performance in sports practice. In recent years, inertial measurement units (IMUs) have been widely used to automatically evaluate GCT, since they can be used in field conditions and are friendly and easy to wear devices. In this paper we describe the results of a systematic search, using the Web of Science, to assess what reliable options are available to GCT estimation using inertial sensors. Our analysis reveals that estimation of GCT from the upper body (upper back and upper arm) has rarely been addressed. Proper estimation of GCT from these locations could permit an extension of the analysis of running performance to the public, where users, especially vocational runners, usually wear pockets that are ideal to hold sensing devices fitted with inertial sensors (or even using their own cell phones for that purpose). Therefore, in the second part of the paper, an experimental study is described. Six subjects, both amateur and semi-elite runners, were recruited for the experiments, and ran on a treadmill at different paces to estimate GCT from inertial sensors placed at the foot (for validation purposes), the upper arm, and upper back. Initial and final foot contact events were identified in these signals to estimate the GCT per step, and compared to times estimated from an optical MOCAP (Optitrack), used as the ground truth. We found an average error in GCT estimation of 0.01 s in absolute value using the foot and the upper back IMU, and of 0.05 s using the upper arm IMU. Limits of agreement (LoA, 1.96 times the standard deviation) were [−0.01 s, 0.04 s], [−0.04 s, 0.02 s], and [0.0 s, 0.1 s] using the sensors on the foot, the upper back, and the upper arm, respectively. Traffic sign poles are crucial components of the highway system, and their maintenance mainly relies on the subjective judgment of staff, which is low-efficiency and will lead to mistaken inspections. This paper proposes a convenient and effective method to monitor the health of sign poles by using a mobile phone. It is unknown whether a mobile phone can be used as a conventional acceleration sensor. Therefore, the performance of the mobile phone was initially tested to ensure its suitability for acquiring the acceleration data of the traffic sign pole. The results show that the acceleration sensor of mobile phones is high-performance and can be used as a traditional acceleration sensor under the similar sampling frequency. The mobile phone can measure the 1st, 2nd and 5th natural frequencies of the traffic sign pole. Although the 1st and 5th natural frequencies have a large error with simulation, the 2nd natural frequency is accurate and stable. The looseness of the base connection greatly impacts on the 2nd natural frequency, which can be used as a measure of the loose base connection. The 2nd natural frequency was measured for 21 times and found to conform to a normal distribution. The relationship between the 2nd natural frequency and base connection loosening was investigated, which fitted to the equation. The fitting result is good and can be used to predict the degree of sign pole base connection loosening. Background: The U.S. Surgeon General and others have emphasized a critical need to address COVID-19 misinformation to protect public health. In St. Louis, MO, we created iHeard STL, a community-level misinformation surveillance and response system. This paper reports methods and findings from its first year of operation. Methods: We assembled a panel of over 200 community members who answered brief, weekly mobile phone surveys to share information they heard in the last seven days. Based on their responses, we prioritized misinformation threats. Weekly surveillance data, misinformation priorities, and accurate responses to each misinformation threat were shared on a public dashboard and sent to community organizations in weekly alerts. We used logistic regression to estimate odds ratios (ORs) for associations between panel member characteristics and misinformation exposure and belief. Results: In the first year, 214 panel members were enrolled. Weekly survey response rates were high (mean = 88.3% ± 6%). Exposure to a sample of COVID-19 misinformation items did not differ significantly by panel member age category or gender; however, African American panel members had significantly higher reported odds of exposure and belief/uncertain belief in some misinformation items (ORs from 3.4 to 17.1) compared to white panel members. Conclusions: Our first-year experience suggests that this systematic, community-based approach to assessing and addressing misinformation is feasible, sustainable, and a promising strategy for responding to the threat of health misinformation. Aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA) is a process to extract an aspect of a product from a customer review and identify its polarity. Most previous studies of ABSA focused on explicit aspects, but implicit aspects have not yet been the subject of much attention. This paper proposes a novel weakly supervised method for implicit aspect extraction, which is a task to classify a sentence into a pre-defined implicit aspect category. A dataset labeled with implicit aspects is automatically constructed from unlabeled sentences as follows. First, explicit sentences are obtained by extracting explicit aspects from unlabeled sentences, while sentences that do not contain explicit aspects are preserved as candidates of implicit sentences. Second, clustering is performed to merge the explicit and implicit sentences that share the same aspect. Third, the aspect of the explicit sentence is assigned to the implicit sentences in the same cluster as the implicit aspect label. Then, the BERT model is fine-tuned for implicit aspect extraction using the constructed dataset. The results of the experiments show that our method achieves 82% and 84% accuracy for mobile phone and PC reviews, respectively, which are 20 and 21 percentage points higher than the baseline. The study aimed to conduct a systematic literature review to identify the trends, impacts, and challenges of mobile microlearning (MML) research. Using five academic databases from the fields of social science, engineering, and medical science as search sources, 26 scholarly articles, published between 2015 and 2020, were retrieved. The study applied a content analysis method to analyze and synthesize the data with three focal points: (a) research purposes and publication sources; (b) research settings, including learning domains, contexts, research methods, measures, and participants; and (c) research outcomes, advantages, and challenges of MML based on the reviewed literature. Results indicated that the mixed-method approach has become a trend in MML studies and MML has been widely applied in both formal and informal settings, especially in the just-in-time workplace learning. In terms of advantages, MML not only enhanced learners' achievement and motivation but also improved skills and knowledge retention. Some deficiencies of MML that were identified included the need for further investigation on meaningful designs of microcontents to fit into small screen mobile devices and issues of usability. Sports performance and health monitoring are essential for athletes to maintain peak performance and avoid potential injuries. In this paper, we propose a sports health monitoring system that utilizes wearable devices, cloud computing, and deep learning to monitor the health status of sports persons. The system consists of a wearable device that collects various physiological parameters and a cloud server that contains a deep learning model to predict the sportsperson's health status. The proposed model combines a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and self-attention mechanisms. The model is trained on a large dataset of sports persons' physiological data and achieves an accuracy of 93%, specificity of 94%, precision of 95%, and an F1 score of 92%. The sports person can access the cloud server using their mobile phone to receive a report of their health status, which can be used to monitor their performance and make any necessary adjustments to their training or competition schedule. In this paper an optimal economic cost analysis using hybrid renewable energy sources to generate the electricity needed for long-term evolution mobile phone systems was estimated. The proposed electric system accounts for the reduction of polluting emissions to the environment. The electrical profile of the optimal approaches or the hybrid technology and traditional methods which contain solar photovoltaic', batteries, wind turbines, diesel generator were estimated and provides the electrical power for a Long-Term Evolution mobile network (LTE) as the load at a remote located area. With the growth of the use mobile phones, people have become increasingly interested in using Short Message Services (SMS) as the most suitable communications service. The popularity of SMS has also given rise to SMS spam, which refers to any unwanted message sent to a mobile phone as a text. Spam may cause many problems, such as traffic bottlenecks or stealing important users' information. This paper, presents a new model that extracts seven features from each message before applying a Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) to assign a weight to each of the extracted features. The message features are fed into the Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) to determine whether they are spam or ham. To evaluate the proposed model, the UCI benchmark dataset was used. Today, satellite settlements surrounding large cities have become popular destinations for tourism-driven mobility. Foreign tourists play a significant role in these flows, typically staying in large cities as centres of gravity and making visits of varying duration to satellite settlements with tourist attractions. 'Invisible' tourism trips of less than 24 hours are difficult to measure using traditional statistical tools, so mobile phone cellular data offered by digital technology is an alternative to monitoring. The paper explores how cellular data generated by mobile phone communication can be used to understand the characteristics of short-duration mobility in metropolitan areas, satellite tourism, and how Big Data technology can be used to study tourism in socio-geographical terms. The study has found that the gravitational pull of the metropolis, i.e. the range of settlements accessible through satellite tourism, goes far beyond the boundaries of the agglomeration area outlined in the hypothesis, and has also pointed out that the methodology used has a number of limitations that may weaken the validity of the results. With the rapid emergence of e-payment methods, such as WeChat and Alipay, in China, more passengers choose mobile payment instead of traditional methods such as ticket counters at the station or travel cards when taking public rail transit systems. However, the mechanisms and key drivers of passengers' payment choices when purchasing tickets with new e-payment ticketing channels are significantly underdeveloped. In this paper, a combination of field and online surveys on the city metro system and its passengers was conducted in Xi'an, China, to collect socioeconomic characteristics, residence locations, travel frequency, mobile phone usage information, and payment choices. The Random Forest (RF) model and SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) were used to explore the relationship between payment choices and those passenger-related attributes. The results reveal that travel card ownership, occupation, residence location, travel purpose, education level, and gender are important and influential factors that can effectively affect passengers' preferences regarding how they would like to pay. Subsequent discussions and implications concerning e-payment ticketing channels in rail transit systems were also put forward. Solicited diaries in audio, written and online forms are increasingly used in qualitative data collection. However, most studies using this approach are set in high-income, high-literacy country settings. This paper discusses the opportunities and challenges of this approach in a low-income, low-resource, low-literacy setting. We used solicited audio-recorded diaries to explore the financial lives of low-income women in Kenya during the COVID-19 pandemic. We enrolled 24 women to submit diary entries every day for seven days. We found that the audio-recorded diaries worked well with low-income women in Kenya, which has high penetration of cell phone ownership. The diaries provided textured, detailed insights into participants' day-to-day challenges, fluctuations, and coping strategies while relying less on recall. Nevertheless, the approach required two pilots to perfect, which may be challenging when research resources and time are limited. A need for a prosthetic hand device has arisen based on the fact that many people lose one of their upper limbs for various reasons. Many systems are available to control prosthetic hands, such as electromyography (EMG) and mechanomyography (MMG). These systems present many problems, including complexity, high cost, and other issues. Voice commands are among the solutions recommended to address these issues. The proliferation of the Internet, voice recognition technology built into mobile phones, and Internet of Things (IoT) technology has facilitated the use of voice commands to operate prosthetic devices. Life skills are personal resources that can be trained and applied in a specific situation and transferred to other contexts. The growing body of research has shown that intervention programs produce positive results in learning and transferring life skills. Nonetheless, there is a need to clarify the efficacy of life skills training, namely the theoretical background of life skills interventions and how to organize the intervention programs. This paper attempts to overcome these gaps of literature by providing a conceptualization of life skills into two axes: typology (cognitive to physical continuum) and function (personal and interpersonal). Also, it is presented a theoretical model of life skills training that establishes the stages and principles of life skills acquisition, the variables that influence training, and the measures and hypotheses that can be used to evaluate the efficacy of life skills training. In the discipline of hand gesture and dynamic sign language recognition, deep learning approaches with high computational complexity and a wide range of parameters have been an extremely remarkable success. However, the implementation of sign language recognition applications for mobile phones with restricted storage and computing capacities is usually greatly constrained by those limited resources. In light of this situation, we suggest lightweight deep neural networks with advanced processing for real-time dynamic sign language recognition (DSLR). This paper presents a DSLR application to minimize the gap between hearing-impaired communities and regular society. The DSLR application was developed using two robust deep learning models, the GRU and the 1D CNN, combined with the MediaPipe framework. In this paper, the authors implement advanced processes to solve most of the DSLR problems, especially in real-time detection, e.g., differences in depth and location. The solution method consists of three main parts. First, the input dataset is preprocessed with our algorithm to standardize the number of frames. Then, the MediaPipe framework extracts hands and poses landmarks (features) to detect and locate them. Finally, the features of the models are passed after processing the unification of the depth and location of the body to recognize the DSL accurately. To accomplish this, the authors built a new American video-based sign dataset and named it DSL-46. DSL-46 contains 46 daily used signs that were presented with all the needed details and properties for recording the new dataset. The results of the experiments show that the presented solution method can recognize dynamic signs extremely fast and accurately, even in real-time detection.
