Deprivation and dependence are the main signs of poverty, and elimination of both constitutes a major means of poverty alleviation. The foremost goal of China's targeted poverty alleviation strategy (TPAS) and the sustainable livelihood analysis framework (SLAF) was thus the elimination of deprivation and dependence. Together, TPAS and SLAF form a poverty alleviation mechanism that provides an opportunity to conduct a systematic analysis of TPAS implementation that achieved world‐renowned results in poverty alleviation. In this study, we comprehensively compare the changes in households and villages in a poor county before and after the implementation of TPAS; furthermore, we use a multilevel model to analyze the mechanism behind the functioning of the "Household‐Village" multilevel structure in the poverty alleviation process. The TPAS implemented a comprehensive livelihood system for poor households, whereby multidimensional deprivation was eliminated by supplementing livelihood capitals. Acquisition‐oriented assistance policies were offered to different groups to build customized paths of poverty alleviation, which ultimately helped poor households break through poverty and achieve sustainable livelihoods. This study highlights the close connection between the various components of the livelihood system, provides new research ideas for the study of China's TPAS and presents a reference template for the promotion of China's poverty alleviation programs. In ocean voyages, cabin indoor localization plays a considerably important role in ship safety management. Due to the special structure of ships and the influence of internal and external environment, the mainstream indoor positioning technology nowadays is not ideal for positioning inside the cabin. In order to improve the positioning accuracy, this article proposes an adaptive K -value-based cabin indoor positioning algorithm. The algorithm constructs a fingerprint library by collecting Received Signal Strength Indication data and carries out filtering; matches fingerprint information by adaptive K -values during the localization process, while using double K -nearest neighbor to reduce the influence of outlier points on the final localization; and finally uses the multi-point mass center method to determine the final localization results. The experimental results in the automated cabin laboratory show that the average positioning error of the algorithm is 1.74 m, which can well meet the cabin indoor positioning requirements. As an effective tool for colorectal lesion detection, it is still difficult to avoid the phenomenon of missed and false detection when using white-light endoscopy. In order to improve the lesion detection rate of colorectal cancer patients, this paper proposes a real-time lesion diagnosis model (YOLOv5x-CG) based on YOLOv5 improvement. In this diagnostic model, colorectal lesions were subdivided into three categories: micropolyps, adenomas, and cancer. In the course of convolutional network training, Mosaic data enhancement strategy was used to improve the detection rate of small target polyps. At the same time, coordinate attention (CA) mechanism was introduced to take into account channel and location information in the network, so as to realize the effective extraction of three kinds of pathological features. The Ghost module was also used to generate more feature maps through linear processing, which reduces the stress of learning model parameters and speeds up detection. The experimental results show that the lesion diagnosis model proposed in this paper has a more rapid and accurate lesion detection ability, and the AP value of polyps, adenomas, and cancer is 0.923, 0.955, and 0.87, and mAP@50 is 0.916. Background and Objective. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a common gastrointestinal tumour with high morbidity and mortality. Endoscopic examination is an effective method for early detection of digestive system tumours. However, due to various reasons, missed diagnoses and misdiagnoses are common occurrences. Our goal is to use deep learning methods to establish colorectal lesion detection, positioning, and classification models based on white light endoscopic images and to design a computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system to help physicians reduce the rate of missed diagnosis and improve the accuracy of the detection rate. Methods. We collected and sorted out the white light endoscopic images of some patients undergoing colonoscopy. The convolutional neural network model is used to detect whether the image contains lesions: CRC, colorectal adenoma (CRA), and colorectal polyps. The accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity rates are used as indicators to evaluate the model. Then, the instance segmentation model is used to locate and classify the lesions on the images containing lesions, and mAP (mean average precision), AP50, and AP75 are used to evaluate the performance of an instance segmentation model. Results. In the process of detecting whether the image contains lesions, we compared ResNet50 with the other four models, that is, AlexNet, VGG19, ResNet18, and GoogLeNet. The result is that ResNet50 performs better than several other models. It scored an accuracy of 93.0%, a sensitivity of 94.3%, and a specificity of 90.6%. In the process of localization and classification of the lesion in images containing lesions by Mask R-CNN, its mAP, AP50, and AP75 were 0.676, 0.903, and 0.833, respectively. Conclusion. We developed and compared five models for the detection of lesions in white light endoscopic images. The Zunyi manganese deposits, which formed during the Middle to Late Permian period and are located in northern Guizhou and adjacent areas, are the core area of a series of large‐medium scale manganese enrichment minerogenesis in the southern margin and interior of the Yangtze platform, Southern China. This study reports the universal enrichment of rare earth elements (REEs) in Zunyi manganese deposits and examines the enrichment characteristics, metallogenic environment and genesis of REEs. The manganese ore bodies present stratiform or stratoid in shape, hosted in the silicon–mud–limestones of the Late Permian Maokou Formation. The manganese ores generally present lamellar, massive, banded and brecciated structures, and mainly consist of rhodochrosite, ropperite, tetalite, capillitite, as well as contains paragenetic gangue minerals including pyrite, chalcopyrite, rutile, barite, tuffaceous clay rock, etc. The manganese ores have higher ΣREE contents range from 158 to 1138.9 ppm (average 509.54 ppm). In addition, the ΣREE contents of tuffaceous clay rock in ore beds vary from 1032.2 to 1824.5 ppm (average 1396.42 ppm). The REEs from manganese deposits are characterized by La, Ce, Nd and Y enriched, and existing in the form of independent minerals (e.g., monazite and xenotime), indicating Zunyi manganese deposits enriched in light rare earth elements (LREE). The Ceanom ratios (average –0.13) and lithofacies and paleogeography characteristics indicate that Zunyi manganese deposits were formed in a weak oxidation‐reduction environment. The (La/Yb)ch, Y/Ho, (La/Nd)N, (Dy/Yb)N, Ce/Ce* and Eu/Eu* values of samples from the Zunyi manganese deposits are 5.53–56.92, 18–39, 1.42–3.15, 0.55–2.20, 0.21–1.76 and 0.48–0.86, respectively, indicating a hydrothermal origin for the manganese mineralization and REEs enrichment. The (δ13CV‐PDB (−0.54 to −18.1%) and (δ18OSMOW (21.6 to 26.0%) characteristics of manganese ores reveal a mixed source of magmatic and organic matter. Moreover, the manganese ore, tuffaceous clay rock and Emeishan basalt have extremely similar REE fractionation characteristic, suggesting REEs enrichment and manganese mineralization have been mainly origin from hydrothermal fluids. During the Ediacaran–Cambrian transition, a series of stratal continuous and well-preserved siliceous rock and phosphorite assemblages developed in Qingzhen, Guizhou Province, China, facilitating research on the biological evolution, marine chemistry, and palaeoecological environment of this period. Therefore, we investigated the paleontology, trace and rare earth elements, total organic carbon, total sulfur content, and Zn isotopes of the phosphorus-bearing rock series in the Taozichong Formation of the Cambrian period in Qingzhen. Geochemical analysis reveals that the sedimentary rocks in this area were formed in the oxygen-rich seawater environment and were not affected by high-temperature hydrothermal activity. The upwelling ocean current provided abundant rare earth elements and other nutrient elements, as well as conditions for the prosperity of biota in Qingzhen. In addition, the δ66Zn value (−0.21‰–0.41‰ range and 0.17‰ mean) in the Qingzhen phosphorous rock series was much lower than that in seawater, indicating a strong level of biological productivity. The variation trend of δ13C, δ18O, and δ66Zn exhibited four stages and three obvious drift events. The results suggest that climate change during this period led to the intermittent flourishing and extinction of organisms, which triggered the negative drift of δ13C and δ18O in the ocean, resulting in a coordinated response of δ66Zn. The unique ecological environment of the Taozichong Formation in Qingzhen also provides favorable conditions for the population continuation of Ediacaran-type benthic soft-bodied metazoon dominated by discoid fossils, Shaanxilithes, worm fossils, and sponge fossils in the Cambrian strata, as well as participation in the global biological explosion events. The Permian was a key period of manganese deposition in Southern China, as evidenced by a series of large-to medium-scale manganese deposits along the margin of the Yangtze Block. This study characterizes representative examples that occur in late Middle Permian silicon–mud–limestones in Zunyi and adjacent areas and examines their implications for manganese deposit genesis and sedimentary environment. The manganese deposits are typical carbonates deposits, with the main manganese-bearing mineral being rhodochrosite, followed by calcimangite, capillitite, manganocalcite, and kutnohorite in decreasing abundance. The ore bodies, hosted in the black shale series of the Late Permian Maokou Formation, are mainly stratiform or stratoid in shape, usually have lamellar, massive, banded, fragmental, or pisolitic structures, and contain paragenetic gangue minerals including rutile, barite, pyrite, and chalcopyrite, etc . These features are characteristic of hydrothermal exhalative sedimentary deposits, implying that this was their mode of genesis. The Mn-ores have higher Co, V, Ni, Cu, Sr and total REE content, lower Y/Ho ratios, and characterized by the Fe–Mn–(Cu + Co + Ni) × 10, lgTh vs. lgU, P 2 O 5 vs. Y and Fe/Ti vs. Al/(Al + Fe + Mn) diagrams strongly suggest hydrothermal activity during manganese mineralization. The Th/U, V/Cr and V/(V + Ni) ratios of samples from the Zunyi manganese deposits are 0.38–3.27, 3.11–24.00 and 0.38–0.99, respectively, indicating the sedimentary environment was weakly oxidizing to reducing condition. In this paper, the artificial neural network (ANN) model was used to evaluate the degree of intensive urban land use in Nanjing City, China. The construction and application of the ANN model took into account the comprehensive, spatial and complex nature of urban land use. Through a preliminary calculation of the degree of intensive land use of the sample area, representative sample area selection and using the back propagation neural network model to train, the intensive land use level of each evaluation unit is finally determined in the study area. Results show that the method can effectively correct the errors caused by the limitations of the model itself and the determination of the ideal value and weights when the multifactor comprehensive evaluation is used alone. The ANN model can make the evaluation results more objective and practical. The evaluation results show a tendency of decreasing land use intensity from the core urban area to the periphery and the industrial functional area has relatively low land use intensity compared with other functional areas. Based on the evaluation results, some suggestions are put forward, such as transforming the mode of urban spatial expansion, strengthening the integration and potential exploitation of the land in the urban built-up area, and strengthening the control of the construction intensity of protected areas. Stratiform baryte deposits are widespread in Cambrian and Devonian strata in China and around the world. In this article, the authors studied the sulfur isotopic features and forming mechanism of the stratiform baryte deposits occurring within the Upper Devonian cherts of the Zhenning-Ziyun county, Guizhou province, located in the Southwestern margin of the Yangtze Platform. The sulfur isotopic data from 18 baryte ore samples of the Leji section of Zhenning county are presented herein with values that range from +41.9‰ to +68.4‰ (AVG = +59.9‰). The δ34S values of the baryte ore from the Mohao section of Ziyun county are stable and show a narrow range from +41.3‰ to +47.0‰ (AVG = +44.0‰). In the Luocheng section of Ziyun county, the δ34S values of the baryte ore vary from +27.6‰ to +36.4‰ (AVG = +32.7‰). The δ34S values of all samples are higher than those of the coeval seawater sulfates (+25‰). The scanning electron microscope analysis indicates that spherical, dumbbell-shaped, clavate bacterial and bacteria-like fossils were observed, as well as the irregular schistose and framboid forms of Fe oxides that occur around the surfaces of baryte grains and inter-grains. Fe oxides take irregular schistose and framboid forms. These findings imply the significant concentration of heavy sulfur related to the seawater sulfates with the action of bacterial sulfate reduction in a closed basin. In addition, the trend of the δ34S value of baryte ores is gradually decreasing from the Leji to Mohao and Luocheng sections, which suggests that Leji area is located in the deepwater area of the restricted rift basin, and in a more closed depositional environment. Bedded barite deposits are found in Cambrian and Devonian strata in China. In this paper, we report the occurrence of Late Paleozoic methane seeps from bedded barite in one of the largest barite deposits in China. The ore bodies are stratiform and lenticular in shape and are hosted within Upper Devonian cherts. The barite deposits usually have laminar, banded, fragmental, massive and rosette textures, and radial and spheroidal structures were observed in the barite ores. Nodular limestones are associated with the barite deposits; they consist of clotted micrites and framboidal pyrites. The internal structure of framboidal pyrite is simple, in which the sun-flower structure has been observed, similar to modern seep carbonates. The δ 13 C V-PDB values range from − 8.82‰ to − 10.27‰, and δ 18 O V-PDB ranges from − 8.10‰ to − 8.20‰ in Xiyahe and from + 0.03‰ to − 3.31‰ in Luocheng. The 13 C depletion suggests that these carbonates formed in a methane seep through the anaerobic oxidation of methane (AOM). This evidence lends strong support to the interpretation that methane hydrate contributed to the barite deposition. In addition, the δ 13 C V-PDB values decrease gradually from Xiyahe to Luocheng, which indicates the gradually weakening strength of the methane seep activities. The δ 30 Si NBS-28 values of the cherts range from − 0.3‰ to + 0.5‰, except for two samples (LJ-24: δ 30 Si NBS-28 values = + 0.9‰; ZL18: δ 30 Si NBS-28 values = + 1.1‰). The lowest δ 30 Si NBS-28 values reflect silicon derived from hydrothermal fluids ascribed to intense tectonic activity, which consequently caused the rapid maturity of hydrocarbons. The 87 Sr/ 86 Sr values ( 87 Sr/ 86 Sr = 0.70863–0.70898, avg. 0.70877; n = 11) of barite are higher than the average value of contemporary seawater, showing that hydrothermal processes played a minor role in barite mineralization. A period-eight cycle route to chaos has been observed in a stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) system for the first time. Since the observation of fine periodic-orbit structure in very short dynamical region of chaotic domain is very difficult, in this work, we design a novel experiment to extend the chaotic domain by injecting light to the end of fiber and adjusting the proportion of stimulated Brillouin backscattering power and pump power, the present result shows the period-eight cycle route to chaotic laser process as well as more details of chaos. Abstract: Chaotic stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in optical fibers with weak external optical feedback has been investigated experimentally and theoretically. However, only the bifurcation route to chaos through period-one and quasi-periodic emission was discovered in the former work because the chaotic domain is very short in the general nonlinear system. In order to control the chaos process and observe finer periodic-orbit structures, a novel experiment was designed to extend the chaotic domain by using long optical fibers in the SBS system. In this experiment, the period-one, period-doubling, period-four and period-eight cycle routes to the chaos laser process as well as the more details of chaos, have been observed. The evolution of the global sulfur isotope curve was plotted based on the δ 34S values of evaporates resultant from oceanic evaporation. In the long period of geological history the δ 34S values showed obvious peaks for three times during the process of ancient oceans’ sulfur isotope evolution, namely the Early Cambrian (+30‰), the Late Devonian (+25‰) and the Permian-Triassic transition interval (+17‰), but the causes of the abnormal rise of sulfur isotopic values during the geological period are still in question. In this paper, 18 samples collected from a large Devonian barite deposit from Zhenning County were analyzed to determine their δ 34S values, revealing that the 18 samples have very high δ 34S values (δ 34S=41.88‰–+68.39‰), with an average close to 56.30‰, which are higher than the isotopic values of contemporary sulfates (+17‰–+25‰). A comparative analysis was conducted of the emerging of high δ 34S barite deposits (from Cambrian and Devonian) and the δ 34S variation curves of the ancient oceans. The results indicate that the time when the obvious peaks of δ 34S values appeared and the time of massive sedimentation of high δ 34S barite deposits are very close to each other, which, in our opinion, is not a coincidence. There may exist some correlations between the sulfur isotope evolution of ancient oceans during the diverse periods of geological history and the massive sedimentation of high δ 34S barite deposits. Therefore, it is inferred that perhaps it was the massive sedimentation of high δ 34S barites that caused the sharp rise of δ 34S values in a short period of time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper draws upon smart growth theory to provide an analytical framework of "smart identification" for industrial land to be readjusted. Huai'an city, Jiangsu province, China, is selected as a case example for the developed framework. Unlike the identification method of efficiency orientation for stock industrial land, which emphasizes the core goal of input and output of production factors per unit area, the smart identification framework covers the five dimensions of industrial policy, urban planning, socioeconomic benefits, transportation convenience, and environment protection. The framework pays more attention to the characteristics of high-quality socioeconomic development, including innovation-driven, coordinated, and sustainable development. Industrial land blocks are used as the research unit. A total of 1,552 industrial land blocks are identified for readjustment, covering an area of 4,008.7 hm2 and accounting for 54.3% of the total industrial land area in Huai'an city; this shows that considerable potential exists for adjustment. We argue that the evaluation index selection of intensive industrial land use and the method by which industrial land is identified for readjustment is influenced by the stage of socioeconomic development. The smart identification method is more consistent with the connotation of high-quality development, and more conducive to revealing the current demand and change law of industrial land against the background of industrial transformation and upgrading, which is of great significance with regard to promoting the intensive use and spatial optimization of industrial land. Abstract: The integration of membrane RO desalting and accelerated precipitation softening (APS) was evaluated for achieving high product water recovery (>95%) from desalting of mildly brackish surface water. A systematic approach that included laboratory RO demonstrations, membrane scaling diagnostics, and mineral solubility analysis was undertaken to develop an effective physical/chemical APS strategy for reducing the concentration of scale-forming ions in the primary RO (PRO) concentrate. APS demineralization, as an inter-stage process, between the PRO and secondary RO (SRO) desalting, involved alkaline pH adjustment and calcite crystal seeding of the PRO concentrate, followed by microfiltration and pH reduction by acid dosing to avoid calcite scaling in the SRO stage. Colorado River water desalting case study demonstrated that, at 90% PRO recovery, the PRO concentrate stream contained barite, calcite, gypsum, and silica above their solubility limits by factors of 122, 47, 1.1, and 0.8, respectively. Further desalting was not feasible with traditional scale-control strategies (e.g., pH reduction and antiscalant addition). However, APS demineralization enabled significant concentration reduction of calcium (>90%), barium (>95%), and strontium (∼78%) and moderate reduction (10–20%) of magnesium and silica. APS kinetics were favorable even in the presence of antiscalant carryover from the PRO stage. The study demonstrated that high recovery desalination of up to 98% is feasible with the PRO-APS-SRO sequence, which reduces the limitations imposed by membrane scaling. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: An approach to ranking antiscalant effectiveness for gypsum scale suppression using combined bulk crystallization and membrane scaling diagnostic tests was explored with a focus on the adverse impact of residual aluminum in dissolved (Al3+) and as colloidal species on gypsum scale suppression. Five commercial antiscalants were ranked based on the crystallization induction time as determined in a well-mixed crystallization vessel with a back-light scattering turbidity meter to monitor gypsum formation. The presence of aluminum, even at trace levels (up to 100 μg/L), significantly reduced the crystallization induction time, thereby reducing antiscalant effectiveness. For a given antiscalant dose, the crystallization induction time decreased with increasing total aluminum concentration according to a log-linear relationship. Although the above qualitative behavior was similar for the tested commercial anti-scalants, the adverse impact of aluminum on antiscalants effectiveness differed markedly among the different antiscalants. Diagnostic scaling tests in a plate-and-frame RO module demonstrated antiscalant performance ranking of the same order as that obtained based on bulk crystallization induction time measurements. We report a chemical processing technology that allows the continuous spinning of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs)-nylon 6 (PA6) fibers by the in-situ polymerization of caprolactam in the presence of SWNTs, which simultaneously optimizes the morphology of the composite. We show that caprolactam is an excellent solvent for carboxylic-acid-functionalized SWNTs (SWNT-COOH) and that this allows the efficient dispersal of the SWNTs and subsequent grafting of PA6 chains to the SWNTs through condensation reactions between the carboxylic-acid group on SWNT-COOH and the terminal amine group of PA6. The existence of a graft copolymer between the PA6 chains and the SWNTs is demonstrated by IR, TGA, and AFM studies, and we show that the solubility of the polymerized material in formic acid is controlled by the degree of graft copolymerization. The amount of grafted PA6 chains that are attached to the SWNTs can be adjusted by controlling the concentration of the initiator (6-aminocaproic acid). The process leads to a uniform dispersion of the SWNTs, and the presence of the graft copolymer increases the polymer/SWNT compatibility while strengthening the interfacial interaction between the nanotube and matrix. The Young's modulus, tensile strength, and thermal stability of the SWNT-reinforced composite fibers produced by this process are significantly improved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Permian manganese (Mn) ore belt lies in western South China Block, and contains many large-medium Mn deposits. However, the genesis and metallogenic mechanism of these deposits remains a matter of debate. Here we shed light on this issue based on new mineralogical, geochemical, and Sr isotope data from the Changgou Mn deposit in the Zunyi orefield (Guizhou, SW China). The Mn orebodies occur as lenses and layers, and are hosted in carbonaceous-siliceous limestone, carbonaceous mudstone, and tuffaceous claystone. The ores show a variety of structures (e.g., detrital, brecciated, massive, and banded) and complex mineral compositions (e.g., galena, sphalerite, siegenite, molybdenite, barite, rutile, and monazite). The ore samples are characterized by chalcophile and siderophile element enrichments, low Al 2 O 3 /TiO 2 ratios (mean 10.36), high and varying Mn/Fe ratios (1.26–4.71), distinctly high REY (rare earth and yttrium) contents (mean 766.46 ppm), and high La/Ce (mean 1.04) and low Y/Ho (mean 28.17) ratios. The footwall and ore samples have 87Sr/86Sr ratios of 0.706897 to 0.707093. Integrated mineralogical and geochemical signatures indicate that the ore-forming fluids were most probably originated from hydrothermal activities related to early-stage Emeishan Large Igneous Province (ELIP) subaqueous volcanism. Redox proxies reveal that sedimentary conditions evolved from euxinic-anoxic (footwall deposition), through anoxic-suboxic (Mn mineralization), to oxic (hanging-wall deposition). Such changes were probably resulted from a coeval eustatic sea-level drop and enhanced seawater oxygen supply. Manganese was likely initially enriched in form of Mn2+, and subsequently precipitated with oxidation, and then transformed into Mn carbonate during sediment diagenesis. To conclude, the tectono-hydrothermal activities and major environmental redox changes led by the ELIP volcanism have provided a favorable source-migration-sink system for the Mn mineralization. Structure-based drug design depends on the detailed knowledge of the three-dimensional (3D) structures of protein–ligand binding complexes, but accurate prediction of ligand-binding poses is still a major challenge for molecular docking due to deficiency of scoring functions (SFs) and ignorance of protein flexibility upon ligand binding. In this study, based on a cross-docking dataset dedicatedly constructed from the PDBbind database, we developed several XGBoost-trained classifiers to discriminate the near-native binding poses from decoys, and systematically assessed their performance with/without the involvement of the cross-docked poses in the training/test sets. The calculation results illustrate that using Extended Connectivity Interaction Features (ECIF), Vina energy terms and docking pose ranks as the features can achieve the best performance, according to the validation through the random splitting or refined-core splitting and the testing on the re-docked or cross-docked poses. Besides, it is found that, despite the significant decrease of the performance for the threefold clustered cross-validation, the inclusion of the Vina energy terms can effectively ensure the lower limit of the performance of the models and thus improve their generalization capability. Fossil plants from the carbonaceous shale of upper part of the Lower Carboniferous Jiujialu Formation in Lindai bauxite deposit fill a gap regarding the distribution of Early Carboniferous flora in Central Guizhou Province. Here the Lindai plant assemblage is systematically described, and its composition and geological age are discussed. Research demonstrates that 9 species in 6 genera of the fossil plants are discovered in this study, and they belong to lycopsids, sphenopsids and ferns, respectively. Based on the analysis of the floral composition, the geological age of the Lindai plant assemblage belongs to the Early Carboniferous Viséan. The discovery of Lindai plant assemblage not only provides a new fossil evidence to restrict the age of bauxite deposits in Lower Carboniferous Jiujialu Formation of Central Guizhou Province, but also has great significance to further research the palaeoecological setting and floral evolution during the Early Carboniferous. The article discusses the large-scale fabrication of aligned single-walled carbon nanotube array and hierarchical single-walled carbon nanotube assembly. The assembly of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in predetermined patterns is one of the most challenging tasks in the fabrication and mass production of SWNT electronic devices, such as sensors and field effect transistors. Carbon nanotubes have been aligned by post-treatment techniques utilizing electrical, magnetic, mechanical forces and self-assembly and in situ during their growth. In the post-treatment methods, it is very difficult to obtain a uniform SWNT alignment with a small bundle size. The assembly of individual tubes is even more difficult because of the very poor solubility of SWNTs in organic solvents and their spontaneous aggregation into large bundles.

The Leishan-Rongjiang antimony ore field (LAOF) is in a unique geotectonic location in the uplift between the Youjiang and Xiangzhong basins. This paper focuses on two representative deposits in the LAOF: the Bameng and Peize antimony (Sb) deposits. We analyzed fluid inclusions (FIs) in stibnite and coexisting quartz, as well as the sulfur isotopic composition of stibnite, to better understand the nature of the ore-forming fluid and the metallogenic process. The FIs data from samples of the stibnite and coexisting quartz indicate that the ore-forming fluids were characterized by low-temperature (150-210 °C), low-salinity (1.5 wt%-6.0 wt% NaCl equiv.), and low-density (0.872-0.961 g/cm). The δS values of stibnite (−8.21‰ to 3.76‰, average = −6.30‰) fall in between the sulfur isotopic compositions of the mantle and of biogenic sulfur in sedimentary rocks. However, the δS values (−4.41‰ to +0.04‰, average = −2.49‰) of the ore-forming fluids are generally closer to the sulfur isotopic composition of the mantle source, indicating that the sulfur in the LAOF was mainly sourced from the mantle, but with possible involvement of biogenic sulfur. In addition, FIs petrography and ore deposit geology show that fluid boiling resulted from an abrupt decrease in pressure, which may have triggered the precipitation of stibnite. We conclude that low-temperature, dilute hydrothermal fluids with mixed origins migrated along the regional fault and interacted with the wall rock, extracting the ore-forming materials. Karst bauxite is a major source of aluminum and contains high concentrations of trace elements such as Li, Ga, Sc, and rare earth elements (REEs). It is regarded as a potential non-conventional REE source due to the increasing demand for REEs. This study provides new mineralogical and geochemical evidence of a Lindai bauxite deposit in central Guizhou Province, aiming to analyze the genesis of REE minerals and reveal the forms of REEs occurring in these deposits. The results indicate that a large number of detrital and authigenic rare-earth phosphate minerals, including monazite and xenotime, were identified. In terms of their genesis, the authigenic monazite was mainly precipitated under alkaline and reducing conditions, whereas the authigenic xenotime was formed in acidic and reducing conditions. The mineralogical evidence detected by scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectrometry (SEM-EDS) and a TESCAN Integrated Mineral Analyzer (TIMA) suggests that the REEs in the Lindai bauxite exhibit multiple forms, including rare-earth phosphate minerals (monazite and xenotime) and REE scavenging by hematite and anatase phases. Among them, the anatase controls some LREE (such as La, Ce, and Pr) distributions in addition to monazite, whereas the hematite also controls relatively large amounts of Sm, Eu, and HREE (such as Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, and Lu) distributions. According to the calculation of the percentage of REE-bearing mineral phases obtained by a TIMA analysis, REE scavenging by hematite accounted for 93.28% of all forms of REEs, REE scavenging by anatase accounted for 5.88%, monazite accounted for 0.67%, and xenotime accounted for 0.17%. Tuff samples in the Late Ordovician Wufeng Formation and the Middle Triassic Guanling Formation mostly show positive Δ199Hg values of – 0.01 to 0.10‰ and – 0.06 to 0.16‰, respectively, suggesting arc volcanism occurred during these two periods. Colorectal cancer has a high incidence rate in all countries around the world, and the survival rate of patients is improved by early detection. With the development of object detection technology based on deep learning, computer-aided diagnosis of colonoscopy medical images becomes a reality, which can effectively reduce the occurrence of missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis. In medical image recognition, the assumption that training samples follow independent identical distribution (IID) is the key to the high accuracy of deep learning. However, the classification of medical images is unbalanced in most cases. This paper proposes a new loss function named the double-balanced loss function for the deep learning model, to improve the impact of datasets on classification accuracy. It introduces the effects of sample size and sample difficulty to the loss calculation and deals with both sample size imbalance and sample difficulty imbalance. And it combines with deep learning to build the medical diagnosis model for colorectal cancer. Experimentally verified by three colorectal white-light endoscopic image datasets, the double-balanced loss function proposed in this paper has better performance on the imbalance classification problem of colorectal medical images. The Nibao gold deposit, which includes both fault-controlled and strata-bound gold orebodies, constitutes an important part of the Yunnan–Guizhou–Guangxi "Golden Triangle" region. Defining the mineralization age of these gold orebodies may provide additional evidence for constraining the formation ages of low-temperature orebodies and their metallogenic distribution in South China. Petrographic studies of gold-bearing pyrites and ore-related quartz veins indicate that these pyrites coexist with quartz or filled in vein-like quartz, which suggests a possible genetic relationship between the two from Nibao gold deposit. Minerals chemistry shows that Rb and Sr are usually hosted in fluid inclusions in quartz ranging from 0.0786 to 2.0760 ppm and 0.1703 to 2.1820 ppm, respectively. The Rb–Sr isotopic composition of gold-bearing quartz-hosted fluid inclusions from the Nibao gold deposit were found to have Rb–Sr isochron ages of 142 ± 3 and 141 ± 2 Ma for both fault-controlled and strata-bound orebodies, respectively, adding more evidence to previous studies and thus revealing a regional gold mineralization age of 148–134 Ma. These results also confirm the Middle-Late Yanshanian mineralizing events of Carlin-type gold deposits in Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi Provinces of Southwest China. In addition, previous studies indicated that antimony deposits in the region which were formed at ca. 148–126 Ma have a close affinity with gold deposits. This illustrates that the regional low-temperature hydrothermal gold mineralization is related in space and time to the Yanshanian (ca. 146–115 Ma) magmatic activity. Specifically, the large-scale gold and antimony mineralization are considered to be inherently related to mantle-derived mafic and ultramafic magmatic rocks associated with an extensional tectonic environment. Based on the initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios of 0.70844 ± 0.00022 (2σ) and 0.70862 ± 0.00020 (2σ) for gold-bearing quartz veins from fault-controlled and strata-bound gold orebodies, respectively, at the Nibao gold deposit, as well as the C, H, O, and S isotopic characteristics of gold deposits located in the Golden Triangle region, we suggest that the mantle-derived material can be involved in the formation of the Nibao gold deposit and that the ore-forming fluid can be derived from a mixed crust–mantle source. South China hosts a large number of Middle Permian marine sedimentary Mn deposits (MSMDs) coeval to the eruption of the Emeishan Large Igneous Province (ELIP). The linkage between these MSMDs and ELIP eruption remains unclear. Here, we observed anomalously high Hg concentrations and Hg/TOC ratios, and a shift of Δ199Hg to near-zero at the base of the Middle Permian Zunyi MSMD. These results suggest ELIP eruption as a possible driving force for the deposition of the Zunyi MSMD. Principal component analysis (PCA) of trace element concentrations of the Zunyi MSMD samples revealed three clusters of trace elements. Cluster A elements (Cr, Zn, Mo, Sb, and Tl) are anomalously high at the basal of the Zunyi MSMD, confirming ELIP as a driver for the formation of this deposit. Cluster B elements (Ba, Rb, and Cu) are high in the entire deposit, supporting elevated oceanic productivity. A stepwise increase in Cluster C elements (Li, Ga, Sn, Zr, Nb, Hf, Ta, and W) concentrations in the Zunyi MSMD suggests enhanced terrestrial weathering. We infer that the ELIP eruption triggered an increased input of terrestrial nutrients to the ocean, causing increased oceanic productivity and rising dissolved O 2 levels in the surface water of the middle Permian ocean in South China, favoring Mn deposition and MSMDs formation. Cirsitakaoside is a natural compound isolated from Premna szemaoensis . However, the anti-inflammatory effects of cirsitakaoside are poorly understood. We investigated the anti-inflammatory action of cirsitakaoside in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated macrophages and mice in vivo. Cirsitakaoside could suppress the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) in a dose-dependent manner in LPS-stimulated mouse peritoneal macrophages and RAW264.7 cells. Cirsitakaoside also could inhibit inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) mRNA and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) mRNA expression in LPS-stimulated mouse peritoneal macrophages and RAW264.7 cells. These effects were partially carried out by inactivated nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) and Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) pathway via inhibiting the phosphorylation of the IKKα/β, IκBα and c-Jun N-terminal kinase/stress-activated protein kinase (JNK) in LPS-stimulated murine macrophages. In vivo, we showed that cirsitakaoside could relieve LPS-induced inflammation response. The article focuses on a study that investigates geochemistry characteristics of Nibao super large gold deposits from Guizhou Province, China and its geologic significance. The study reveals that hydrothermal precipitation prompted the initial formation of Nibao gold deposits and subsequent low-temperature hydrothermal processes resulted in gold remobilization in ore-forming materials. Also the study shows that the Nibao gold deposits have sedimentary hydrothermal alteration characteristics.

• Mass independent fractionation of Hg isotopes is observed in the Ediacaran-Cambrian sediments. • Variable Δ199Hg values reflect changing marine and terrestrial metal sources as a function of paleo-depositional setting. • Positive Δ199Hg values in the Early Cambrian V rich black shales suggest Hg of seawater origin. A broad spectrum of marine sediments, including metalliferous black shales, stratiform barite, phosphorite and sapropelite (combustible shale) was widely deposited during the Ediacaran-Cambrian transition on the Yangtze Platform. The source of metals in the metalliferous black shales and the trigger for ocean dynamics during this critical period remain controversial. We analyzed Hg isotopes in late Ediacaran to Early Cambrian carbonaceous sedimentary rocks from the basinal Sansui section, South China, and observed Hg concentrations of 102–103 ppb, which is high but within the global range of black shales. The late Ediacaran carbonaceous chert shows near-zero Δ199Hg values (−0.05–0.09‰), which can be interpreted as input of terrestrial Hg or volcanic Hg. However, the transgressive near-coastal setting supports the terrestrial origin. The Early Cambrian V rich black shales display positive Δ199Hg values (0.03–0.18‰), which are similar to those observed in polymetallic Ni-Mo-rich sulfidic black shales (0.10–0.22‰) and phosphorites (0.13–0.24‰) in the stratigraphically equivalent Maoshi and Zhijin sections, respectively. These positive Δ199Hg values suggest that Hg was of dominantly seawater origin in a restricted basin setting. The variable Δ199Hg values of the rock spectrum reflect the dynamic interplay of marine and terrestrial metal sources as a function of paleo-depositional setting within the transgressive–regressive system on the continental margin of the Ediacaran-Cambrian Yangtze platform. In the study of the phosphate-bearing stratum at the bottom of the Cambrian system, the authors found that there occurred carbon isotope negative anomalies in the Taozichong section phosphate-bearing stratum in Qingzhen, Guizhou Province; they can be correspondingly compared with other synsedimentary carbon isotope negative anomalies both at home and abroad. The results showed that there occurred three negative anomalies of carbon isotopes in the Neoproterozoic-Early Cambrian Taozichong Formation, indicating that the temporal palaeo-oceanographical environment changed significantly, in which there happened two times of intensive carbon isotope variation, corresponding to creature extinction. Meanwhile, it is believed that the carbon isotope negative anomalies in phosphorites were caused by the ascending water mass of ocean current with the negative carbon isotopic composition of deep-ocean hydrothermal deposits. Abstract: Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) were dispersed in the form of individual nanotubes and small bundles, and subsequently polymerized to prepare composite films. The nanotubes were first dispersed in dimethylacetamide in the presence of 1,3-bis(3-aminophenoxy)benzene (APB), which was then polymerized with 4,4′-hexafluoroisopropylidiene diphthalic anhydride (6-FDA). Optical microscopy, SEM and TEM studies of the composite show that the SWNTs are homogenously distributed in the polymer matrix, and AFM observations indicate that ∼80% of the dispersed SWNTs are stabilized as individual nanotubes. The freestanding composite films were found to have very good optical, thermal and mechanical properties as well as enhanced electrostatic charge dissipation properties. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Callicarpa integerrima Champ. is a well-known herbal medicine with hemostatic and anti-inflammatory functions. However, the exact ingredient exhibiting anti-inflammatory activity in C. integerrima Champ. is largely unknown. Here, we first isolated, purified and characterized a novel clerodane-type diterpenoid Cintelactone A (CA) from C. integerrima Champ. We demonstrated that CA could significantly inhibit lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators production both in mouse peritoneal macrophages and THP1 cells. Consistently, CA also relieved inflammation and reduced LPS-induced lung injury in mice. We systematically elucidated the mechanism of action as well. CA interacted with Arg78 of tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6) by hydrogen bonding. It further promoted the K48-linked ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of TRAF6, and suppressed the activation of NF-κB and MAPKs signaling pathways. Collectively, our study reveals that new clerodane-type diterpenoid CA suppresses LPS-induced inflammation by promoting TRAF6 degradation, suggesting that CA as the potential therapeutic candidate for the treatment of inflammation associated diseases.
