Purpose: To study the outcomes of balloon dacryoplasty (BD) or (BDCP) in children with persistent congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction (pCNLDO) by using new and reused balloon catheters. Methods: Our retrospective analysis focused on managing pCNLDO by using the BD or BDCP technique. The study included children aged >1 year to <12 years who underwent single or multiple probings before. Our specific lacrimal workup included a detailed history and examination, as published earlier. We used conventional, straight, 2 mm × 13 mm/3 mm × 15 mm lacrimal balloons (FCI, Ophthacath). We have described a technique to use the same catheter for three BD procedures (1 new + 2 reuse). The outcomes were categorized as complete success, partial success, and failure. The minimum follow‑up of each child was 6 months. Results: We analyzed 64 children (89 eyes) with a mean age of 58 months (15–132 months). All children (100%) had epiphora with discharge and positive FDDT. All children underwent BD under general anesthesia – new balloons in 59 eyes and reused balloons in 30 eyes. The balloons were plasma sterilized akin to vitrectomy cutters and tubings of phaco machines. We noted three leaks from reused balloons (2 from the balloon tip and 1 from the plastic hub). At a mean follow‑up of 14.5 months, complete success was noted in 77 eyes (86.5%) (52 new and 25 reuse), while 8 eyes had partial success (8.9%) (4 new and 4 reuse). Failure of BD was noted in four eyes (4.5%) (3 new and 1 reuse). None had significant complications with new or reused balloons. Conclusion: BD or BDCP is a quick, safe, easy, and effective procedure that resolves pCNLDO symptoms satisfactorily. In winter, the paddy residues become wet during morning and late evening due to dew, which restricts the operation of sowing machines (Happy Seeder and Super Seeder) into paddy residues, as wet residues do not slide on furrow openers/tines. A PAU Smart Seeder (PSS) was developed and evaluated for a four-wheel tractor that can sow wheat with optimum crop establishment in combined harvested rice fields. The PSS were evaluated for its performance under varying straw load, forward speed, and rotor speed in terms of fuel consumption, field capacity, seed emergence, and grain yield. The crop establishment and wheat yield of PSS was also compared with the existing straw management machines Happy Seeder (HS) and Super Seeder (SS) under heavy paddy residue conditions. The effect of the straw load was more pronounced on dependent variables than the effect of the speed index. PSS performance was best at a forward speed of 2.6 km h−1, rotor speed of 127.5 rpm, and a straw load of 6 t ha−1. Average fuel consumption using PSS was lower than SS but higher than HS. Wheat emergence was higher by 15.6 and 25.7% on the PSS plots compared to HS and SS, respectively. Average wheat grain yield in PSS plots was significantly higher by 12.7 and 18.9% than SS and HS, respectively in one experiment, while the grain yield was similar for both PSS and HS in other experiments. PSS has a novel mechanism to manage paddy straw and simultaneously sow wheat into a heavy straw load (> 8 t ha−1) mixture of anchored and loose straw. The heterogeneous distribution of lipids and lipid-bound proteins in a plasma membrane has functional advantages. Herein, in a synthetic system, we demonstrate the assembly of three enzymes involved in cascade reactions, in response to the substrate of the first enzyme at the oil–water interface being stabilized by a Zn(II)-metallosurfactant. Then we show substrate-mediated catalytically-active cluster formation of the metallosurfactant in a binary mixture with another non-catalytic surfactant at the interface. The catalytic ability can be tuned by controlling clustering through the addition of phosphate ions. Yager (2014) proposed a transformation for negating the happening of an uncertain event which opposes the occurrence of any uncertain event by redistributing its probability equally among the other outcomes. Yager's negation applied repeatedly on any probability distribution converges to the uniform distribution (all events having identical probability of occurrence). In most cases, uniform distribution is the maximum entropy probability distribution (MEPD) as it has maximum uncertainty inherent in it. However, if some information is available regarding the occurrence of events associated with a random experiment, then MEPD may or may not be a uniform distribution. In this work, we have first explored some new properties of Yager's negation and then investigated Yager's negation when we have some additional information about the probability distribution other than the natural constraints. The MEPD in the presence of this additional information is determined using the negation of probabilities. It is shown that the existence of MEPD (and as a result the maximum entropy) largely depends on the parameters of the additional constraints. Given the complexity of today's world, we might need to work with numbers requiring multi-attribute functions, such as those having positive, neutral, and negative membership and those having truth, indeterminacy, and falsity membership. Adding these numbers together to get a single real number is the most important factor. In situations like this, decision-makers have more difficult choices and are unable to apply the single attribute function of the soft set theory. To address this constraint, the hyper-soft set theory with multi-attribute functions is introduced. We combine the notion of neutrosophic hypersoft set with picture fuzzy hypersoft set to form a single theory of neutrosophic picture hypersoft set in this study. We introduce the notions of correlation coefficient and weighted correlation coefficient and demonstrate its fundamental properties for neutrosophic picture hypersoft set. Then, we introduce the notions of a weighted average operator and a weighted geometric operator for neutrosophic picture hypersoft set by using the various aggregation operators with a suitable example. Making decisions based on several factors and choosing the best option is multi-criteria decision-making or MCDM. When ranking and choosing options based on a distance metric, one essential and useful strategy is the Technique of order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS). We demonstrate the accuracy of the fuzzy TOPSIS methodology by extending it to neutrosophic fuzzy TOPSIS and using neutrosophic picture hypersoft set theory to describe the MCDM problem in this study. We provide a generalized neutrosophic TOPSIS approach to demonstrate correlation coefficients and the effectiveness of this approach with an appropriate example. In this work, the practical implementation of magnetic end effector is presented using magnetic levitation (Maglev) system as a working prototype, due to their similar functionality. Maglev refers to a method by which an object can be suspended with the aid of a magnetic field. The motive of this research is to propose a novel fractional-order enhanced model reference adaptive controller (FOEMRAC)-based approach for controlling the stability of the levitating magnetic objects. FOEMRAC uses modified MIT rule as the adaptation mechanism in this system. The stability analysis of Maglev system has been conducted using Matignon theorem. The simulation is carried out using Quanser Maglev system, and a comparative study is conducted with other existing state-of-the-art approaches. The integral error criterion including integral absolute error, integral square error, and integral time absolute error, and other performance metrics such as rise time, settling time, overshoot, and undershoot have been used to compare the robustness of the controllers under nominal, load disturbance, and parametric uncertain environments. Further, the results are verified on the hardware in real time which reveal that FOEMRAC shows efficient results than other controllers and thus can be used to enhance the performance of the magnetic end effector in real-time environment. Abstract\nHIGHLIGHTSThe rising demand for global food resources, combined with an overreliance on land-based agroecosystems, poses a significant challenge for the sustainable production of food products. Macroalgae cultivation is a promising approach to mitigate impending global food insecurities due to several key factors: independence from terrestrial farming, rapid growth rates, unique biochemical makeup, and carbon capture potential. Furthermore, macroalgae are rich in vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids and fiber, demonstrating significant potential as sustainable alternatives for enhancing dietary diversity and fulfilling nutritional requirements. This review provides an overview of the nutritional composition and functional properties of commercially cultivated macroalgae species, with emphasis on their viability as value additions to the functional food market. Furthermore, the review discusses the technological aspects of integrating macroalgae into food products, covering both innovative solutions and existing challenges. Macroalgae, beyond being nutritional powerhouses, contain a plethora of bioactive compounds with varied biological activities, including anti-diabetic, anti-cancer, cardioprotective, and neuroprotective properties, making them excellent candidates in developing novel pharmaceuticals. Machine learning algorithms generally assume that the data are balanced in nature. However, medical datasets suffer from the curse of dimensionality and class imbalance problems. The medical datasets are obtained from the patient information which creates an imbalance in class distribution as the number of normal persons is more than the number of patients and contains a large number of features to represent a sample. It tends to the machine learning algorithms biased toward the majority class which degrades their classification performance for minority class samples and increases the computation overhead. Therefore, oversampling, feature selection and feature weighting-based four strategies are proposed to deal with the problems of class imbalance and high dimensionality. The key idea behind the proposed strategies is to generate a balanced sample space along with the optimal weighted feature space of the most relevant and discriminative features. The Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique is utilized to generate the synthetic minority class samples and reduce the bias toward the majority class. An Improved Elephant Herding Optimization algorithm is applied to select the optimal features and weights for reducing the computation overhead and improving the interpretation ability of the learning algorithms by providing weights to relevant features. In addition, thirteen methods are developed from the proposed strategies to deal with the problems of high-dimensionality and imbalanced data. The optimized k -Nearest Neighbor (k -NN) learning algorithm is utilized to perform classification. The performance of the proposed methods is evaluated and compared for sixteen high-dimensional imbalanced medical datasets. Further, Freidman's mean rank test is applied to show the statistical difference between the proposed methods. Experimental and statistical results show that the proposed Feature Weighting followed by the Feature Selection (FW–FS) method performed significantly better than the other proposed methods for classification accuracy, g-mean, f-score, and AUC metrics. In addition, the performance of the proposed FW–FS method is compared with eleven state-of-the-art algorithms. In this work, two numerical techniques are compared for solving one and two-dimensional convection-diffusion equations. First technique is referred as "MCUAT tension B-spline," and the second technique is labeled as "MCUAH tension B-spline." Various aspects are examined to validate the compatibility of results, including comparisons between numerical and exact solutions and evaluation of different error norms. Present errors are compared with existing literature, presenting a remarkable improvisation. Statistical validation of work is tested via a correlation matrix heatmap generated in Python. The order of convergence of the proposed work is also included. Via an observation of comparison of results, it is claimed that UAT results are slightly better than UAH results. Different aspects of correlation, such as strongly negative correlation and perfect positive correlation, are notified. Purpose: To find a correlation between the clinical (vision–inflammation–strabismus–appearance [VISA] score) and radiological (apparent diffusion coefficient [ADC] values) scores for evaluating disease activity in patients with thyroid‑associated orbitopathy. Design: A prospective comparative study. Methods: Our study was performed for consecutively diagnosed thyroid‑associated orbitopathy (TAO) patients. Clinical evaluation included the VISA classification system with the basic thyroid workup. An inflammatory score of <4/8 was considered inactive and ≥4/8 as an active disease. Every included patient underwent a diffusion‑weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW‑MRI) scan of the orbits. The orbital parameters evaluated on imaging included the proptosis, thickness, as well as the ADC values of extraocular muscles. Results: We studied 33 consecutive patients (23 females, 69.7%) with a mean age of 41.8 years. The majority (n = 27, 81.8%) were hyperthyroid, four were hypothyroid, and two were euthyroid. In the VISA classification, nine patients had active TAO (≥4/8 inflammation score), while 24 had inactive disease. There was a positive correlation between the inflammation score and ADC values of medial rectus (MR), inferior rectus (IR) and lateral rectus (LR). We had nine patients with inflammation scores ≥4. With receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis, we found that the ADC value of IR can predict disease activity with 68% sensitivity and MR‑ADC can predict active TAO with 87% sensitivity. Conclusion: The ADC parameters of DW‑MRI are objective and less operator dependent than the clinical TAO activity scores like VISA classification. Consumption of garlic leads to the persistence of "garlic breath" due to the presence of malodorous sulfur volatiles which may persist for as long as 24 h. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of yogurt and its components on the deodorization of garlic sulfur volatiles in breath and study the roles of these components in deodorization. Raw garlic was consumed with different treatments and at different times for breath analysis. Different components were mixed with the garlic for headspace analysis. Volatiles were measured using selected-ion flow-tube mass spectrometry. Consuming yogurt at the same time as garlic was more effective than consuming it before or after. Yogurt was the most effective at deodorization, followed by the emulsion, then protein or fat alone. Decreasing the pH of protein solutions increased deodorization because changes to the structure of the proteins exposed more binding sites for the volatiles, while decreasing the pH of water or fat had no effect on deodorization. Whey protein deodorized better than casein due to the presence of more cysteine binding sites for volatiles. This study proposes that the fat, protein, microbial culture, and water in yogurt have synergistic effects on the deodorization of garlic volatiles. A novel heterogeneous catalyst Fe3O4@SB@Cu that contains a copper(II) Schiff base complex covalently immobilised on Fe3O4 nanoparticles was synthesised. The prepared catalyst is well characterised by FTIR spectroscopy, UV–Visible spectroscopy, FE-SEM, TEM, VSM analysis, EDX, XRD analysis, TGA, CV technique, XPS and PL studies to confirm its structural and morphological features. The high BET surface area (117.34 m2/g) was achieved for particles with size 25–30 nm and saturation magnetisation of 43.4 emu/g. The catalytic potential of the synthesised catalyst Fe3O4@SB@Cu was investigated by employing H2O2 as an oxidant for the oxidation of anthracene to anthraquinone. Various parameters like catalytic loading, temperature and solvents were varied to determine the optimal catalytic conditions, and 96% yield of the product is obtained within 36 min when the reaction was performed in the acetonitrile solvent with 1.8% loading of the catalyst. The catalytic reaction was monitored by UV–Visible spectroscopy. Using an external magnet, the modified nanoparticles were easily retrieved from the reaction mixture and can be utilised for five more reaction cycles without the significant loss of activity or copper leaching. A low cost imine-decorated linker, 4,4'-(hydrazine-1,2-diylidenedimethylylidene)dibenzoic acid was utilized for the preparation of copper-based metal–organic framework (MOF) denoted as Cu-L via a solvothermal technique. The synthesized MOF material has been fully characterized by different analytical techniques such as Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, powder X-Ray diffraction (PXRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-Ray spectroscopy (EDX), nitrogen adsorption–desorption isotherm analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). It has been found that the coordination of Cu2+ with L considerably reduced the band gap of the L of nearly about 1 eV, which is approximately 26% decline in total. Notably, a narrow band gap of the photocatalyst is an essential requirement for the proficient photodegradation of organic contaminants. An excellent optical properties and narrow band gap of (2.8 eV) of Cu-L ensure their suitability as a photocatalyst for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) dye. In the presence of Cu-L photocatalyst, 84.22% degradation of MB dye was observed after 150 min under sunlight exposure. It is the first time that imine-functionalized MOF was utilized for the degradation of MB dye under sunlight irradiation. For understanding the photodegradation of MB dye by the Cu-L photocatalyst, all the plausible mechanistic studies have been carried out in detail. Both theoretical (with the help of density functional theory (DFT) calculations) as well as experimental studies have been conducted to justify the possible mechanisms for the photodegradation of MB dye by Cu-L. A fluorescent sensor, 5-((2-hydroxynaphthalen-1-yl)methyleneamino)benzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid (coded as SB), containing both π-π interacting sites (such as π-electron-rich moieties) and hydrogen bonding (H-bonding) interacting sites (such as highly acidic protons) has been developed via high yield reflux method. It was characterized by the various analytical techniques such as Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1 H-NMR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), field emission scanning electron microscope (Fe-SEM), elemental mapping, and UV − visible spectroscopy etc. The spectral response of the as-synthesized SB sensor has been investigated for various nitro explosives (NEs). It has been found that the SB sensor selectively and sensitive sense highly toxic 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (TNP) via the "turn-off" quenching response. Its limit of detection for TNP was calculated to be 30 ppb. Spectral overlap, detailed mechanistic studies for their mode of action, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations reveals that photo-induced electron transfer process (PET), fluorescence energy transfers process (FRET), and electrostatic interactions (i.e. H-bonding) are the key factors for the turn-off response of SB towards TNP. Purpose: To evaluate the outcome of intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injections and panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) in fovea involving preretinal hemorrhage (PRH) secondary to proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). Methods: Retrospective non-comparative cross-sectional series of patients diagnosed with fovea involving PRH secondary to PDR at our institute from March 2019 to October 2021 who were treated with combination treatments of intravitreal anti-VEGF and PRP and have completed a minimum 6-month follow-up. The primary outcome measure was serial changes in the visual acuity (VA) and PRH regression from the fovea. Secondary outcome measures were the quantitative assessment of the size of PRH, its association with VA improvement and time to regression, and the proportion of patients who underwent surgery for poor response. Results: In total, 22 eyes of 21 patients showed regression of PRH from the foveal center at 33.6 days, and complete regression was seen at 140.7 days. The average number of anti-VEGF injections required for clearance of PRH from the fovea was 1.6. Mean LogMAR visual acuity improved from 0.54 at baseline to 0.32 at 4 weeks and 0.18 at 6 months (P < 0.01). Three eyes (13.6%) required vitrectomy surgery during follow-up. The mean area of PRH as measured by Image J analysis was 14.78 mm² at baseline, 8.97 mm² at 4 weeks, and 1.25 mm² at 3 months (P < 0.01). No statistically significant difference was seen between the size of PRH and PRH clearance time and VA improvement. No systemic side effects were observed following the intravitreal injections during follow-up. Conclusion: Intravitreal anti-VEGF injections and PRP were found to be effective and safe treatment methods for fovea involving PRH secondary to PDR. As the development of hydrogen fuel cell cars moves from concept to mass production, customers need safe, practical, and easy refueling experiences. The performance and lifetime of fuel cell stacks, as well as other operational factors like valve functioning, are greatly influenced by the purity of hydrogen. The advances achieved by earlier researchers in promoting hydrogen as a possible significant fuel source for the future are fully examined in this publication. Hydrogen is an energy carrier that has the potential to replace fossil fuels. It may be used as a fuel source for cars that run on fuel cells as well as internal combustion engines. To minimize aberrant combustion, extra consideration has to be given to engine design when considering hydrogen as a fuel for internal combustion engines. This strategy may result in higher power output, lower nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, and enhanced engine efficiency. The research explores the designs of fuel cell cars that use hydrogen by converting it into energy as well as the designs of internal combustion vehicles fueled by hydrogen via combustion. In addition, hybrid variants of these cars are shown for a thorough comprehension of the topic. The work presented in the manuscript describes a simple strategy for transforming thermally activated delayed fluorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (TADF OLEDs) compound 10‐(dibenzo[a,c]phenazin‐11‐yl)‐10H‐phenoxazine (DPZ‐PXZ) into type I photosensitizer 10‐(dibenzo[a,c]phenazin‐11‐yl)‐10H‐phenothiazine (DPZ‐PHZ) by strategically introducing sulfur atom in the photosensitizing core. The synthesized compound DPZ‐PHZ exhibits aggregation‐induced enhancement (AIE) and through‐space charge transfer (TSCT) characteristics and generates red emissive assemblies in mixed aqueous media. The original compound DPZ‐PXZ exhibits well‐separated HOMO and LUMO levels and is reported to have highly efficient reverse intersystem crossing (RISC). In comparison, the incorporation of sulfur atom in the phenothiazine donor regulates the electronic communication between donor and acceptor units and promotes the intersystem crossing (ISC) in DPZ‐PHZ molecules. Interestingly, compound DPZ‐PHZ exhibits rapid activation of aerial oxygen for instant generation of superoxide radical anion. Backed by excellent type I photosensitizing activity, DPZ‐PHZ assemblies have high catalytic potential for the synthesis of benzimidazoles, benzothiazoles and quinazolines derivatives under mild reaction conditions. Background: Many studies have shown the beneficial effect of prophylactic lidocaine or esmolol on hemodynamic response during laryngoscopic intubation. Although many studies observed a better effect of esmolol over lidocaine, some studies have drawn an impression of equal efficacy or even no benefit with the use of either of the drugs. Aims and Objectives: The study aimed to compare the heart rate (HR) at 1 min after intubation between the patients receiving lidocaine and esmolol. Other outcome measures were to compare HR at 3 and 5 min post-intubation and to compare the mean arterial pressure at 1, 3, and 5 min after intubation. In addition, the adverse events, if any, were noted. Materials and Methods: Fifty patients, 30-45 years, either sex, Mallampati grade 1-2, of the American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I-II, posted for elective abdominal surgery requiring direct laryngoscopic endotracheal intubation were included. Patients were randomly allocated into two groups to receive esmolol 2 mg/kg (Group E, n=25) or 2% lidocaine 2 mg/kg (Group L, n=25), intravenously. HR and mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) were recorded at 1-, 3-, and 5-min interval post-intubation. Results: The mean HR at 1-min post-intubation was considerably lower using esmolol in comparison with lidocaine (91.7±9.7 vs. 107.7±5.1, P≤0.0001). The mean HR and MAP at 3-min and 5-min post-intubation were considerably lower with the use of esmolol compared with lidocaine. This study seeks to examine the impact of curriculum support (CS) and extracurricular support (ECS) on students’ entrepreneurial intentions (EI) along with the mediating impact of entrepreneurial attitude (EA) and entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) on the relationship. An electronic questionnaire was used to collect data from 561 final year engineering students, and Partial Least Square-Structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was used to analyse the collected data. The findings revealed that CS has no direct influence on EI; however, it has an indirect influence through EA and ESE, whereas ECS has a stronger impact, i.e. both direct and indirect connections with EI. This study offers considerable insights to policymakers, entrepreneurship educators and actors regarding the architecture of EE frameworks that can build the inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem within HEIs. Purpose: Foresight J's journey started in 1999, and in 2022, it marked the conclusion of its 24 years of publication. This paper aims to provide an overall overview of important research trends published in Foresight J between 1999 and 2022 by conducting a quantitative analysis of the journal's literature. The overarching goal is to provide valuable insights into the dynamics of scholarly communication, aiding researchers, institutions and policymakers in assessing the significance and influence of academic work, guiding future research directions and academic evaluation. Design/methodology/approach: The two bibliometrics methodologies that make up the methodology of this article are scientific mapping and performance analysis. Authors have explained the development and composition of the Foresight J using these methods. The SCOPUS database is being used in current research to analyse several dimensions, such as the evolution of publications by year, the most cited papers, core authors and researchers, leading countries and prolific institutions. Moreover, the conceptual structure, scope, burst detection and co-occurrence analysis of the journal are mapped using network visualization software such as VOSviewer, CiteSpace and RStudio. Findings: With a strong track record of output over the years, Foresight J has continued to develop in terms of publications. It is determined that "Saritas" is the author with the greatest overall impact. However, according to SCOPUS bibliometric data, "Blackman" and "Richardson" are the authors with the greatest relevance in terms of the quantity of articles. In addition, it becomes apparent that the USA, Australia and the UK are very productive nations in terms of publications. The most popular fields of the journal have always been forecasting, foresight, scenario planning, strategic planning, decision-making, technology and sustainable development. These are also the author keywords that appear the most frequently. In contrast, new study themes in the Foresight J include digital technologies, innovation, sustainability, blockchain, artificial intelligence and sustainability. Research limitations/implications: Several noteworthy research implications are provided by the bibliometric study of Foresight J. "Saritas" is the author with the most overall impact, indicating that the precise contributions and influence of this researcher in the fields of forecasting, foresight and related fields. Given that "Blackman" and "Richardson" are well-known writers, it is also critical to examine the scope and complexity of their contributions to potentially identify recurring themes or patterns in their writing. The geographic productivity results, which show that the USA, Australia and the UK are the top three countries for Foresight J publications, may encourage more research into regional differences, patterns of collaboration and the worldwide distribution of research endeavours in the context of forecasting and foresight. Popular fields including scenario planning, forecasting, foresight and sustainable development are consistent, indicating persistent research interests. Examining the causes of these subjects' ongoing relevance can reveal information about the consistency and development of scholarly interests over time. Practical implications: Foresight J's bibliometric analysis has real-world applications for many stakeholders. It helps editors and publishers make strategic decisions about outreach and content by providing insights regarding the journal's influence. Assessing organizational and author productivity helps institutions allocate resources more effectively. Policymakers acquire an instrument to evaluate research patterns and distribute funds efficiently. In general, bibliometric study of a journal helps decisionmakers in academic publishing make well-informed choices that maximize the potential of options for authors, editors, institutions and policymakers. Social implications: The societal ramifications of bibliometrically analysing Foresight J from 1999 and 2022 are substantial. This analysis highlights, over the past 24 years, research trends, technological developments and societal priorities have changed by methodically looking through the journal's articles. Gaining knowledge about the academic environment covered by the journal can help raise public awareness of important topics and promote critical thinking. In addition, the analysis can support evidence-based decision-making by alerting decision makers to the influential research that was published in Foresight J. This could have an impact on the course of policies pertaining to innovation, technology and societal development. The term ‘blue economy’, first introduced in 2010, is the sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, jobs, ocean health, and to improve livelihoods. However, a sustainable blue economy faces various challenges in the form of global warming, ocean acidification, and lack of knowledge about the ocean; for example, 95% of the sea is still unexplored, making it more important to understand the blue economy and implement it on a global scale. Other challenges include harmful algal blooms (HABs), invasive species, coral bleaching, and thermohaline circulation. This review discusses various aspects of the blue economy like food, value-added products, offshore energy, oxygen source, mining, fisheries, carbon sequestration, and cloud seeding. To assess the possible impact of climatic variation on microbial community composition in organic winemaking, we employed a metabarcoding approach to scrutinize the microbiome in a commercial, organic, Pinot noir wine production system that utilizes autochthonous fermentation. We assessed microbial composition across two vintages (2018 and 2021) using biological replicates co-located at the same winery. Microbial dynamics were monitored over four important fermentation time points and correlated with contemporaneous climate data. Bacterial (RANOSIM = 0.4743, p = 0.0001) and fungal (RANOSIM = 0.4738, p = 0.0001) compositions were different in both vintages. For bacteria, Lactococcus dominated the diversity associated with the 2018 vintage, while Tatumella dominated the 2021 vintage. For fungal populations, while Saccharomyces were abundant in both vintages, key differences included Starmerella, copious in the 2018 vintage; and Metschnikowia, substantive in the 2021 vintage. Ordination plots correlated the climatic variables with microbial population differences, indicating temperature as a particularly important influence; humidity values also differed significantly between these vintages. Our data illustrates how climatic conditions may influence microbial diversity during winemaking, and further highlights the effect climate change could have on wine production. Efficient management of protected areas (PAs) is important to ensure conservation and long‐term sustenance of threatened species. It is therefore essential to understand the vulnerability of PAs in a multi‐pronged approach by considering the cumulative effects of species, climatic, and anthropogenic attributes. We assessed the overall vulnerability of PAs in the Central Indian Highlands (CIH), which is a landscape of high biodiversity value. Over 81% of PAs experienced medium to high vulnerability due to anthropogenic pressures, and 68.75% of PAs faced medium to high vulnerability due to climate change and conservation status of species within the PA. Our categorization of PAs revealed that 50% of PAs were vulnerable to all 3 attributes. Further, there was a strong correlation between species and anthropogenic vulnerability indices in the PAs of the CIH landscape. Our results may help local policy makers in prioritizing the optimal and cost‐effective conservation management of existing PAs, which can be extended for cost‐effectiveness and efficient resource allocation of PAs, through this multipronged approach, beyond the CIH landscape. A transparent polarisation-sensitive phase pattern changes the phase of transmitted light without absorption, whereas this change of phase depends on the polarisation of incident light. A position-localised polarisation-dependent phase pattern is imprinted onto the phase-space of atoms by using atomic state dependent velocity-selective hole burning. A phase-space localised pattern is a higher dimensional generalisation of patterns localised in the position-space. Such a pattern cannot be imaged with a lens. The imprinted pattern is localised in a unique three-dimensional subspace of the six-dimensional phase-space of atoms. The phase-space localised pattern transforms the polarisation of light transmitting through it. This pattern is tomographically imaged at room temperature by measuring the intensity of the transmitted imaging laser beam of variable frequency with a camera after its polarisation analysis. Two sub-tomographs of the imprinted phase-space localised pattern are constructed. The control of plant's optimal nutrition for long-term crop quality and productivity is one of the top areas of agricultural research emphasis. A new trend of the industry embraces the use of nano-fertilizers that increase the agricultural output and leads to the bio-fortification of the crops. Different nano-carriers have been reported in the literature that is being utilized for transferring the nutrients to plants more effectively than their conventional way of applications. In various ways, these nano-carriers increase the availability of both micro- and macronutrients for plants along with their own supportive behavior for the soil and crops. The present study is designed to present a comprehensive overview of novel developing strategies that are increasing nutrient availability for crops, including their effects on crop growth, yield, and fortification; their required concentration and application rate; their mechanism of action; unfavorable outcomes; and research gaps. Background and Aims: Parental separation, fear, and exposure to the operating room environment lead to stress and anxiety in pediatric patients. This study aims to identify the research gaps in the effect of video distraction on pediatric patients of Indian origin. We hypothesized that video distraction along with parental presence would reduce preoperative anxiety in pediatric patients undergoing ophthalmic procedures under general anesthesia compared with parental presence alone. Material and Methods: In this prospective randomized trial, 145 patients aged 2-8 years, ASA I-II, with at least one functional eye undergoing elective ophthalmic daycare procedures were enrolled. They were randomly allocated to two Groups: Group V had distraction by watching a video/playing a video game together with parental presence, whereas control Group C had parental presence alone without any video distraction. The primary objective of the study was to compare preoperative anxiety using the Modified Yale Preoperative Anxiety score (mYPAS) and heart rate (HR), whereas the secondary objective was to compare child fear, emergence delirium, and parental satisfaction between the two groups. The three time points for intergroup comparisons were the preoperative holding area 10 min before induction (T0), transport of the child to the operating room (T1), and face mask introduction (T2). Results: There was a statistically significant difference between mYPAS score in groups V and C at all time points (P = 0.036, P = 0.0001, P = 0.0000), parental satisfaction score at all three time points (P = 0.0049, P = 0.0000, P = 0.0000), and Child Fear Score at T1 and T2 (P = 0.0001, P = 0.0001, respectively). However, there was no statistically significant difference in the emergence of delirium between the two groups. Conclusions: Video distraction together with parental presence has a promising role for implementation in hospitals with heavy workload settings where pharmacological intervention would not be feasible, to alleviate preoperative anxiety in children. Background and Objectives: The mechanisms underlying COVID-19-associated pulmonary mucormycosis (CAPM) remain unclear. We use a transcriptomic analysis of the innate immune cells to investigate the host immune and metabolic response pathways in patients with CAPM. Patients and Methods: We enrolled subjects with CAPM (n = 5), pulmonary mucormycosis (PM) without COVID-19 (n = 5), COVID-19 (without mucormycosis, n = 5), healthy controls (n = 5) without comorbid illness and negative for SARS-CoV-2. Peripheral blood samples from cases were collected before initiating antifungal therapy, and neutrophils and monocytes were isolated. RNA sequencing was performed using Illumina HiSeqX from monocytes and neutrophils. Raw reads were aligned with HISAT-2 pipeline and DESeq2 was used for differential gene expression. Gene ontology (GO) and metabolic pathway analysis were performed using Shiny GO application and R packages (ggplot2, Pathview). Results: The derangement of core immune and metabolic responses in CAPM patients was noted. Pattern recognition receptors, dectin-2, MCL, FcR receptors and CLEC-2, were upregulated, but signalling pathways such as JAK-STAT, IL-17 and CARD-9 were downregulated; mTOR and MAP-kinase signalling were elevated in monocytes from CAPM patients. The complement receptors, NETosis, and pro-inflammatory responses, such as S100A8/A9, lipocalin and MMP9, were elevated. The major metabolic pathways of glucose metabolism--glycolysis/gluconeogenesis, pentose phosphate pathway, HIF signalling and iron metabolism-ferroptosis were also upregulated in CAPM. Conclusions: We identified significant alterations in the metabolic pathways possibly leading to cellular iron overload and a hyperglycaemic state. Brain tumors display significant inter and intratumoral heterogeneity, impacting disease progression and outcomes. Preserving surgically resected tissue is vital for ensuring accurate research results to enhance understanding of tumor pathophysiology. This study evaluates tissue integrity and viability of tissue resected using 2 surgical devices for tumor resection: a mechanical microdebrider (MD) and an ultrasonic aspirator (UA). Tumor samples were obtained from patients undergoing surgical resection of primary and secondary intracranial tumors. Cell viability was assessed, and histopathological analysis of Hematoxylin and Eosin -stained tissues was performed. Adherent monolayer and neurospheres cell cultures were established from paired samples. RNA isolation and quantitative polymerase chain reaction of housekeeping genes were conducted to compare genetic integrity. The cellular viability was comparable between samples obtained using both the MD and the UA, with a mean viability of 75.2% ± 15.6 and 70.7% ± 16.8, respectively (P = 0.318). Histopathological evaluation indicated no discernible differences in cellular integrity between the devices. Cell culture success rates and growth characteristics were similar for both devices. RNA concentration and integrity were well-maintained in both MD and UA samples, with no significant differences (P = 0.855). Quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis of housekeeping genes showed consistent results across matched tissues from both devices and different tumor pathologies. Surgical handheld devices provide valuable, high-quality tissue samples for research. Surgeon preference, tumor pathology, and anatomical location dictate device choice. Human activities are accelerating rates of biological invasions and climate-driven range expansions globally, yet we understand little of how genomic processes facilitate the invasion process. Although most of the literature has focused on underlying phenotypic correlates of invasiveness, advances in genomic technologies are showing a strong link between genomic variation and invasion success. Here, we consider the ability of genomic tools and technologies to (i) inform mechanistic understanding of biological invasions and (ii) solve real-world issues in predicting and managing biological invasions. For both, we examine the current state of the field and discuss how genomics can be leveraged in the future. In addition, we make recommendations pertinent to broader research issues, such as data sovereignty, metadata standards, collaboration, and science communication best practices that will require concerted efforts from the global invasion genomics community. Cavernous hemangioma, currently known as "cavernous venous malformation," is a common, benign, noninfiltrative, slowly progressive vascular malformation of the orbit presenting in adults. We report the case of a 9-year-old girl who presented with a painless palpable mass over the right upper eyelid of 7 years' duration. A computed tomography scan of the orbits revealed a heterogeneously enhancing, well-circum-scribed mass in the right upper eyelid with no orbital extension. A transcutaneous excisional biopsy with histopathology disclosed cavernous venous malformation. The pandemic has enhanced the health consciousness among the people which in turn induces them to shift toward more healthier and sustainable consumption patterns. Therefore, in the face of changing consumer preferences toward healthy products, the participants in the food industry need to redesign and reposition their products to match the consumer expectations. The current research aims to unearth if COVID-19-induced health consciousness has an impact on the individual’s intention to purchase packaged immunity boosting food products. The research is based on primary data collected from 300 respondents from Punjab and Delhi NCR region who were involved in household grocery purchasing and whose age was more than 18. PLS-SEM has been used in the present study for data analysis. Findings concluded that all the constructs measuring health consciousness had a positive impact on attitude toward packaged immunity boosting foods except health information seeking and knowledge which influenced the attitude negatively. Further attitude was found to be positively influencing purchase intention. The outcomes of the study offer significant practical implications for the producers, marketers, and researchers in the food industry. A study on dry sliding wear investigated four alloys: fully austenitized ADI (F-ADI), intercritically austenitized austempered ductile iron (I-ADI), hardened and tempered Boron steel (B-Steel), and hardened and tempered AISI 1045 steel (EN-Steel). Despite their similar hardness levels, these alloys differ in composition and microstructure. Testing was conducted using a Ball-On-Disc setup (ASTM G99-05) with a chrome steel ball, maintaining a constant sliding speed of 0.6 m/s and applying loads between 20 and 80 N. This study aimed to understand the influence of yield strength (σy), strain hardening coefficient (n), and microstructure on sliding wear under uniform hardness conditions. The findings indicated a strong connection between sliding wear resistance, strain hardening coefficient, toughness, and yield strength. Wear mechanisms varied slightly among materials; F-ADI and I-ADI exhibited deformed layers with increased hardness and oxide formation, while B-Steel and EN-Steel showed micro-cutting and micro-ploughing. F-ADI's high-carbon austenite film and I-ADI's proeutectoid ferrite contributed to improved wear performance. The hardness of the deformation layer on FADI and I-ADI's worn surfaces highlighted the benefits of strain hardening in dry sliding wear. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With the launching of our new open access journal, JAACAP Open ,4 in late 2022, we now extend these initiatives to both scientific journals in the JAACAP family and aspire to be a leader among mental health journals in our intentional pursuit of antiracist policies and practices. Food packaging reinforced with Zn-doped TiO2 nanoparticles with enhanced prerequisite film-forming and biodegradable traits was prepared to augment fresh food storage. Pure and tailored metal (Zinc, Copper, and Selenium) doped TiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized and analyzed through multiple characterization techniques (optical spectra, XRD patterns (X-Ray Diffraction), Dynamic Light Scattering, and Scanning Electron Microscopy). The synthesized nanoparticles were tested for their Minimum Inhibitory Concentrations, antimicrobial potential against common lethal food pathogens, and cytotoxicity. Compared to Cu- and Se-doped nanoparticles, Zn-doped TiO2 nanoparticles displayed the most potent antimicrobial activity with insignificant cytotoxicity and were incorporated into the food packaging materials. The developed nano-reinforced food packaging efficaciously augmented the freshness of plums (Oemleria cerasiformis) for 16 days (42 ± 2 °C). The physicomechanical characterization of the nano-reinforced packaging establishes its utility in food packaging applications. Hemithioindigos were designed as topoisomerase inhibitors, synthesized, and evaluated for their anticancer properties against lung (A549) and breast (MDA‐MB‐468 and MCF7) cancer cell lines. Among all the synthetics, three compounds exerted potential anticancer effects on A549 (lung) and MCF7 (breast) cancer cell lines at low micromolar concentrations. The results revealed that two of these compounds blocked the cancer cells at the G1/S phase, while the third compound showed moderate G2/M inhibition, leading to necrotic cell death. Finally, the topoisomerase inhibition assays revealed their potent Topo I/II inhibitory actions as one of the primary anticancer mechanisms. Present study intended to analyze the clinical presentation, risk factors, choroidal features, and outcome of CMD in CSCR. Methods: This was a retrospective, record-based descriptive study, which included chronic CSCR eyes with CMD. Demographic profile and clinical history were obtained from medical records. Spectralis spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SDOCT; Heidelberg Engineering, Germany) was used for acquiring SDOCT images and for performing fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) angiography. Results: The study included 101 eyes of 69 consecutive patients of CSCR having CMD. The mean age of patients was 56 ± 9.4 years (range 40-79 years), and majority (63, 91.3%) of the patients were male. Prior history of corticosteroid use was present in seven (10.1%) patients. Mean time interval between the first diagnosis of CSCR and appearance of CMD was 55.3 ± 33.9 months. CMD was located away from the fovea in majority of eyes (68, 67.3%). Mean subfoveal choroidal thickness was 396.71 ± 90.5 µm. Subretinal pigment epithelium choroidal neovascularization was noted in four (3.96%) eyes. Conclusion: CMD appears as a late complication of CSCR and is usually present away from the fovea. Such eyes had thickened choroid and fewer cases had associated choroidal neovascularization. Abstract The appraisal of drug–surfactant binding interactions is pharmacologically and pharmaceutically noteworthy. The simple model compounds of nucleic acids such as nucleic acid bases/nucleosides are key biologically active molecules useful for studying interactions of nucleic acids with other components in bio-fluids. Therefore, the binding studies of promethazine hydrochloride (PMT) drug with individual surfactants such as sodium dodecylsulphate (SDS, anionic surfactant), sodium lauroylsarcosinate (SLS, amino based-surfactant), and sodium cholate (NaC, trihydroxy bile salt), and their mixed systems (PMT + SDS/SLS/NaC) at mole fractions, α PMT = 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, and 0.08 have been accomplished in water and 0.025 mol kg−1 aqueous uridine (nucleoside) solutions at temperatures (298.15, 308.15, and 318.15) K. Thermodynamic characteristics of micellization have been obtained from the conductivity studies. Binding constants (K b, K f) and standard Gibbs free energies of binding (ΔG ο b, ΔG ο f) for pure PMT drug and its mixed systems with anionic surfactants were evaluated from UV–visible absorption and fluorescence emission studies. Further, the density functional theory (DFT) calculations for studied systems were carried out to get net stabilization energies for the drug–surfactant complexes. NBO and HOMO–LUMO analyses were also carried out in the absence/presence of uridine. Dynamic light scattering study was used to measure the hydrodynamic diameters in micellar systems. The major influences of hydrophobic–hydrophobic interactions among the hydrophobic groups and electrostatic (ionic and H-bond) interactions among the hydrophilic/ionic groups of PMT drug, SDS/SLS/NaC, and uridine have been depicted from the present investigations. The present study investigated the effect of synthetic fertilizer (SF) versus SF plus farmyard manure (FYM) in various combinations on soil fertility, grain yield and agronomic efficiency (AE) and GHG intensity (GHGI) in spring-maize for four years. A combination of 100% of the recommended NPK along with FYM (100%NPK+FYM) resulted in maximum (20–24%) increase in soil organic C content over 100%NPK alone treatment. Similarly, 100%NPK+FYM increased soil available N, P and K by 20, 73 and 33% over 100%NPK treatment. Continuous use of integrated nutrient management (INM) practices had a favourable impact on spring-maize grain yield, maximum being in 100%NPK+FYM (8.09 t ha−1) and 125%NPK+FYM (8.16 t ha−1) treatments. Though the grain yield between 100%NPK+FYM and 125%NPK+FYM treatments was similar, maximum AE of N, P and K and minimal GHGI was achieved in 100%NPK+FYM treatment. The results of the study indicated that application of 100%NPK+FYM in spring-maize proved to be agricultural and environmental sustainable management practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
