Cyclic nucleic acids are biologically stable against nucleic acid exonucleases due to the absence of 5′ and 3′ termini. Studies of cyclic nucleic acids mainly focus on cyclic single-stranded nucleic acids. Cyclic single-stranded nucleic acids are further divided into circular RNA (circRNA) and circular single-stranded DNA (cssDNA). The synthesis methods of circRNA include lasso-driven cyclization, intron-paired cyclization, intron cyclization, intron complementary pairing-driven cyclization, RNA-binding protein-driven cyclization, and artificial synthesis depending on the source. Its main role is to participate in gene expression and the treatment of some diseases. Circular single-stranded DNA is mainly synthesized by chemical ligation, template-directed enzyme ligation, and new techniques for the efficient preparation of DNA single loops and topologies based on CircLigase. It is mainly used in rolling circle amplification (RCA) technology and in the bioprotection of circular aptamers and second messengers. Hydrogels are renowned for their complex structures and unique physicochemical properties, establishing them as key materials in bioenergy harvesting applications. They are used in various applications, including triboelectric nanogenerators, piezoelectric, hydraulic, thermoelectric, and biofuel cells. Among these, hydrogels as key materials for thermoelectric applications represent a technology capable of continuously converting biological energy (thermal energy) into electrical energy. This technology shows great potential and commercial value in body monitoring, energy storage, and human‐machine interaction applications. Given its rapid development, a timely review focusing on the research progress of hydrogels and their composites in thermoelectric technology is presented. This review discusses various types of hydrogels used for thermoelectric power generation and refrigeration, their unique properties, strategies for enhancing their thermoelectric performance, and their applications in the field. Finally, the remaining challenges and feasible strategies are identified for improving the efficiency, stability, application range, and system‐level integration of next‐generation hydrogels for thermoelectric applications. Nanozymes, made of emerging nanomaterials, have similar activity to natural enzyme and exhibit promising applications in in the fields of environment, biology and medicine, and food safety science. In recent years, with the deep finding and research to nanozymes by researchers, its application in field of pharmaceutical analysis has emerged gradually, possessing great significance in drug safety evaluation and quality control. This review summarizes the construction of metal nanozymes, strategies to improve their performance and their application in pharmaceutical detection and analysis, especially in detection of target analytes consisting of small molecule medicine macromolecule, toxic and others, which proposes theoretical foundation for development of nanozymes in this field. Summary: Meat is widely regarded as the optimal source of protein for human consumption. However, meat is susceptible to spoilage and microbial contamination throughout processing, transportation and storage stages. Traditional thermal processing techniques are commonly employed in the global meat industry. While these methods ensure microbiological safety, they may also impact the sensory and functional attributes of meat products. To address these limitations, non‐thermal processing technologies are progressively replacing conventional thermal approaches. This review will primarily focus on the potential application of non‐thermal processing technologies as alternatives to traditional methods in meat and meat product processing. Various technologies exhibiting promising performance in this field will be presented. Additionally, the mechanisms, advantages and limitations of these non‐thermal technologies in recent years will be summarised, along with a discussion on the challenges and prospects they present. This study provides an overview of non‐thermal processing technology specifically applied to meat products, emphasising the underlying mechanisms associated with different approaches. By employing diverse technical combinations, it is possible to address existing processing limitations and expand their applicability range. Non‐thermal processing technology demonstrates significant potential for enhancing meat processing practices; however, concerns regarding safety aspects and limited clinical verification about to environmental pollution have impeded its widespread adoption within the food industry. BACKGROUND: The recurrent contaminations of feed materials with mycotoxigenic fungi can endanger both farmed animals and humans. Biosynthesized nanomaterials are assumingly the ideal agents to overcome fungal invasion in feed/foodstuffs, especially when utilizing sustainable sources for synthesis. Herein, the phycosynthesis of selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) was targeted using Cystoseira myrica algal extract (CE), and the conjugation of CE/SeNPs with chitosan nanoparticles (NCt) to produce potential antifungal nanocomposites for controlling Aspergillus flavus isolates in fish feed. RESULTS: The phycosynthesis of SeNPs with CE was effectually carried out and validated using visible/UV analysis, X‐ray diffraction and transmission microscopy; CE/SeNPs had diameters of 8.7 nm and spherical shapes. NCt/CE/SeNPs nanocomposite (173.3 nm mean diameter) was achieved and the component interactions were validated via infrared spectroscopic analysis. The antifungal assessment of screened nanomaterials against three Aspergillus flavus strains indicated that NCt/CE/SeNPs exceeded the fluconazole action using qualitative/quantitative assays. Severe alteration/distortions in A. flavus mycelial structure and morphology were microscopically observed within 48 h of NCt/CE/SeNPs treatment. The treatment of feed ingredients (crushed corn and feed powder) by blending with nanomaterials (NCt, CE/SeNPs and NCt/CE/SeNPs) led to significant reduction in A. flavus count/growth after storage for 7 days; NCt/CE/SeNPs could completely inhibit any fungal growth in feed material. CONCLUSION: The pioneering phycosynthesis of CE/SeNPs and their nanoconjugation with NCt generated bioactive antifungal agents to control A. flavus strains. Ontologies and terminologies serve as the backbone of knowledge representation in biomedical domains, facilitating data integration, interoperability, and semantic understanding across diverse applications. However, the quality assurance and enrichment of these resources remain an ongoing challenge due to the dynamic nature of biomedical knowledge. In this editorial, we provide an introductory summary of seven articles included in this special supplement issue for quality assurance and enrichment of biological and biomedical ontologies and terminologies. These articles span a spectrum of topics, such as development of automated quality assessment frameworks for Resource Description Framework (RDF) resources, identification of missing concepts in SNOMED CT through logical definitions, and developing a COVID interface terminology to enable automatic annotations of COVID-19 related Electronic Health Records (EHRs). Collectively, these contributions underscore the ongoing efforts to improve the accuracy, consistency, and interoperability of biomedical ontologies and terminologies, thus advancing their pivotal role in healthcare and biomedical research. Background: Precisely estimating the probability of mental health challenges among college students is pivotal for facilitating timely intervention and preventative measures. However, to date, no specific artificial intelligence (AI) models have been reported to effectively forecast severe mental distress. This study aimed to develop and validate an advanced AI tool for predicting the likelihood of severe mental distress in college students. Methods: A total of 2088 college students from five universities were enrolled in this study. Participants were randomly divided into a training group (80%) and a validation group (20%). Various machine learning models, including logistic regression (LR), extreme gradient boosting machine (eXGBM), decision tree (DT), k-nearest neighbor (KNN), random forest (RF), and support vector machine (SVM), were employed and trained in this study. Model performance was evaluated using 11 metrics, and the highest scoring model was selected. In addition, external validation was conducted on 751 participants from three universities. The AI tool was then deployed as a web-based AI application. Results: Among the models developed, the eXGBM model achieved the highest area under the curve (AUC) value of 0.932 (95% CI: 0.911–0.949), closely followed by RF with an AUC of 0.927 (95% CI: 0.905–0.943). The eXGBM model demonstrated superior performance in accuracy (0.850), precision (0.824), recall (0.890), specificity (0.810), F1 score (0.856), Brier score (0.103), log loss (0.326), and discrimination slope (0.598). The eXGBM model also received the highest score of 60 based on the evaluation scoring system, while RF achieved a score of 49. The scores of LR, DT, and SVM were only 19, 32, and 36, respectively. External validation yielded an impressive AUC value of 0.918. Conclusions: The AI tool demonstrates promising predictive performance for identifying college students at risk of severe mental distress. Boron difluoride (BF2) complexes with asymmetrical N,N'‐bidentate ligands have received increasing attention due to their fascinating properties and broad applications. They are generally constructed in two steps: ligand formation, followed by boron complexation. This review focuses on categorizing these BF2 complexes based on the key synthetic strategies that have been applied in the ligand formation steps. The post‐functionalization, properties and applications of different types of BF2 complexes are presented. Their challenges and opportunities are also discussed. East African lakes support the food and water security of millions of people. Yet, a lack of continuous long-term water quality data for these waterbodies impedes their sustainable management. While satellite-based water quality retrieval methods have been developed for lakes globally, African lakes are typically underrepresented in training data, limiting the applicability of existing methods to the region. Hence, this study aimed to (1) assess the accuracy of existing and newly developed water quality band algorithms for East African lakes and (2) make satellite-derived water quality information easily accessible through a Google Earth Engine application (app), named LAndsat water QUality retrieval tool for east African lakes (LAQUA). We collated a dataset of existing and newly collected in situ surface water quality samples from seven lakes to develop and test Landsat water quality retrieval models. Twenty-one published algorithms were evaluated and compared with newly developed linear and quadratic regression models, to determine the most suitable Landsat band algorithms for chlorophyll-a, total suspended solids (TSS), and Secchi disk depth (SDD) for East African lakes. The three-band algorithm, parameterised using data for East African lakes, proved the most suitable for chlorophyll-a retrieval (R2 = 0.717, p < 0.001, RMSE = 22.917 μg/L), a novel index developed in this study, the Modified Suspended Matter Index (MSMI), was the most accurate for TSS retrieval (R2 = 0.822, p < 0.001, RMSE = 9.006 mg/L), and an existing global model was the most accurate for SDD estimation (R2 = 0.933, p < 0.001, RMSE = 0.073 m). The LAQUA app we developed provides easy access to the best performing retrieval models, facilitating the use of water quality information for management and evidence-informed policy making for East African lakes. As the consumption of antibiotics rises, they have generated some negative impacts on organisms and the environment because they are often unable to be effectively degraded, and seeking effective detection methods is currently a challenge. Covalent–organic frameworks (COFs) are new types of crystalline porous crystals created based on the strong covalent interactions between blocked monomers, and COFs demonstrate great potential in the detection of antibiotics from aqueous solutions because of their large surface area, adjustable porosity, recyclability, and predictable structure. This review aims to present state-of-the-art insights into COFs (properties, classification, synthesis methods, and functionalization). The key mechanisms for the detection of antibiotics and the application performance of COFs in the detection of antibiotics from water are also discussed, followed by the challenges and opportunities for COFs in future research. An exopolysaccharide (EPS)-producing strain, identified as Weissella cibaria HDL-4, was isolated from litchi. After separation and purification, the structure and properties of HDL-4 EPS were characterized. The molecular weight of HDL-4 EPS was determined to be 1.9 × 10⁶ Da, with glucose as its monosaccharide component. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analyses indicated that HDL-4 EPS was a D-glucan with α-(1→6) and α-(1→4) glycosidic bonds. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis revealed that HDL-4 EPS was amorphous. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and atomic force microscope (AFM) observations showed that HDL-4 EPS possesses pores, irregular protrusions, and a smooth layered structure. Additionally, HDL-4 EPS demonstrated significant thermal stability, remaining stable below 288 °C. It exhibited a strong metal ion adsorption activity, emulsification activity, antioxidant activity, and water-retaining property. Zizania latifolia is an aquatic and medicinal plant with a long history of development in China and the East Asian region. The smut fungus "Ustilago esculenta" parasitizes Z. latifolia and induces culm expansion to form a vegetable named Jiaobai, which has a unique taste and nutritional attributes. However, the postharvest quality of water bamboo shoots is still a big challenge for farmers and merchants. This paper traced the origin, development process, and morphological characteristics of Z. latifolia. Subsequently, the compilation of the primary nutrients and bioactive substances are presented in context to their effects on ecology a postharvest storage and preservation methods. Furthermore, the industrial, environmental, and material science applications of Z. latifolia in the fields of industry were discussed. Finally, the primary objective of the review proposes future directions for research to support the development of Z. latifolia industry and aid in maximizing its value. To sum up, Z. latifolia, aside from its potential as material it can be utilized to make different productions and improve the existing applications. Ergothioneine (EGT) is a high-value natural sulfur-containing amino acid and has been shown to possess extremely potent antioxidant and cytoprotective activities. At present, EGT has been widely used in food, functional food, cosmetics, medicine, and other industries, but its low yield is still an urgent problem to overcome. This review briefly introduced the biological activities and functions of EGT, and expounded its specific applications in food, functional food, cosmetic, and medical industries, introduced and compared the main production methods of EGT and respective biosynthetic pathways in different microorganisms. Furthermore, the use of genetic and metabolic engineering methods to improve EGT production was discussed. In addition, the incorporation of some food-derived EGT-producing strains into fermentation process will allow the EGT to act as a new functional factor in the fermented foods. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), once considered transcriptional noise, have emerged as critical regulators of gene expression and key players in cancer biology. Recent breakthroughs have revealed that certain lncRNAs can encode small open reading frame (sORF)-derived peptides, which are now understood to contribute to the pathogenesis of various cancers. This review synthesizes current knowledge on the detection, functional roles, and clinical implications of lncRNA-encoded peptides in cancer. We discuss technological advancements in the detection and validation of sORFs, including ribosome profiling and mass spectrometry, which have facilitated the discovery of these peptides. The functional roles of lncRNA-encoded peptides in cancer processes such as gene transcription, translation regulation, signal transduction, and metabolic reprogramming are explored in various types of cancer. The clinical potential of these peptides is highlighted, with a focus on their utility as diagnostic biomarkers, prognostic indicators, and therapeutic targets. The challenges and future directions in translating these findings into clinical practice are also discussed, including the need for large-scale validation, development of sensitive detection methods, and optimization of peptide stability and delivery. The adaptability and mobility of high-end equipment in extreme war environments guarantee national defense security and are of great strategic significance. To advance the upgrading of such equipment, a key step is to improve the lightweight level and functionality of the main load-bearing structures. The high-end equipment working under the extreme coupled multi-field environment puts forward high demands on lightweight and multifunctionality of the main load-bearing components. The separation of load-bearing structures and functional components (e.g., vibration and noise reduction, bullet and explosion resistance, impact energy absorption, heat dissipation, and wave absorption parts, etc.) in existing equipment, results in structure and weight redundancy, making it difficult to further improve the operational performances. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop ultralight, compact, load-bearing, and multifunctional metastructures. Herein, the concept of ultralight, compact, and load-bearing metastructures was proposed for the first time and a clear definition was given. A series of design schemes for prototype metastructures were summarized in combination with practical engineering application requirements. Foxtail millet prolamin, one of the major protein constituents of foxtail millet, has garnered attention due to its unique amino acid composition and function. Foxtail millet prolamin exhibits specific physicochemical and functional characteristics, such as solubility, surface hydrophobicity, emulsifying, and foaming properties. These characteristics have been exploited in the preparation and development of products, including plant-based alternative products, nutritional supplements, and gluten-free foods. Additionally, because of the favorable biocompatibility and biodegradability, foxtail millet prolamin is frequently used as a carrier for encapsulation and targeted delivery of bioactive substances. Moreover, studies have shown that foxtail millet prolamin is highly nutritious and displays various biological activities like antioxidant effects, anti-inflammatory properties, and anti-diabetic potential, making it a valuable ingredient in medicinal products and contributing to its potential role in therapeutic diets. This review summarizes the current knowledge of the amino acid composition and structural characteristics of foxtail millet prolamin, as well as the functional properties, biological activities, and applications in functional food formulation and drug delivery strategy. Challenges and future perspectives for the utilization of foxtail millet prolamin are also pointed out. Microneedles (MNs), characterized by their micron-sized sharp tips, can painlessly penetrate the skin and have shown significant potential in disease treatment and biosensing. With the development of artificial intelligence (AI), the design and application of MNs have experienced substantial innovation aided by machine learning (ML). This review begins with a brief introduction to the concept of ML and its current stage of development. Subsequently, the design principles and fabrication methods of MNs are explored, demonstrating the critical role of ML in optimizing their design and preparation. The endometrium undergoes cyclical changes in response to hormones and there is a certain degree of heterogeneity among individuals. In vivo identification of the physiologic changes of the endometrium and the pathologic process of related diseases is challenging. Azide-containing compounds, organic azides, showcases a variety of reactivities, making them highly convenient and chameleonic intermediates. An indoline derivative has been proven to be of great significance in drug discovery due to its sp3-rich property. In this context, it is interesting to perform such vigorous azidation on medicinal-relevant indoles/indolines, resulting in the production of sp3-rich azidoindolines. The potential biological activity, in combination with the sp3-rich indoline bearing the azido moiety, makes azidoindolines an attractive synthetic target for medicinal and synthetic chemists. BACKGROUND RESULTS CONCLUSION Research on the co‐production of multiple enzymes by Bacillus velezensis as a novel species is still a topic that needs to be studied. This study aimed to investigate the fermentation characteristics of B. velezensis D6 co‐producing α‐amylase and protease and to explore their enzymatic properties and applications in fermentation.The maximum co‐production of α‐amylase and protease reached 13.13 ± 0.72 and 2106.63 ± 64.42 U mL−1, respectively, under the optimal fermented conditions (nutrients: 20.0 g L−1 urea, 20.0 g L−1 glucose, 0.7 g L−1 MnCl2; incubation conditions: initial pH 7.0, temperature 41 °C, 8% inoculation size and 30% working volume). Moreover, the genetic co‐expression of α‐amylase and protease increased from 0 to 24 h and then decreased after 36 h at the transcriptional level, which coincided with the growth trend of B. velezensis D6. The optimal reaction temperature of α‐amylase was 55–60 °C, while that of protease was 35–40 °C. The activities of α‐amylase and protease were retained by over 80% after thermal treatment (90 °C, 1 h), which indicated that two enzymes co‐produced by B. velezensis D6 demonstrated excellent thermal stability. Due to their unique physical and chemical properties, wide bandgap semiconductor materials have shown great potential in the field of optoelectronic devices, and have received more and more research and attention. Zinc gallate (ZnGa2O4) is a wide bandgap semiconductor material, showing broad application prospects in the fields of solar-blind ultraviolet photoelectric detection and X-ray detection for its wide bandgap, unique structure and good thermal stability. In this paper, based on the basic structural characteristics of ZnGa2O4, the bandgap, photoelectric properties of ZnGa2 O4, the preparation methods of ZnGa2O4 bulk single crystal and thin film are introduced in detail. Combined with the recent research results of domestic and foreign scholars, the application prospects of ZnGa2 O4 in many fields are summarized, especially the research progress of solar-blind ultraviolet photoelectric detection, memristor, X-ray detection and power devices. The use of organic-inorganic hybrid nanoflowers as a support material for enzyme immobilization has gained significant attention in recent years due to their high stability, ease of preparation, and enhanced catalytic activity. However, a major challenge in utilizing these hybrid nanoflowers for enzyme immobilization is the difficulty in handling and separating them due to their low density and high dispersion. To address this issue, magnetic nanoflowers have emerged as a promising alternative enzyme immobilization platform due to their easy separation, structural stability, and ability to enhance catalytic efficiency. This review focuses on different methods for designing magnetic nanoflowers, as well as future research directions. Additionally, it provides examples of enzymes immobilized in the form of magnetic nanoflowers and their applications in environmental remediation, biosensors, and food industries. Finally, the review discusses possible ways to improve the material for enhanced catalytic activity, structural stability, and scalability. The magnetic hybrid nanoflowers embedded with enzymes exhibit superior catalytic activity, excellent stability, and ease of separation which can be used in a wide range of applications. Central nervous system Infections (CNSIs) is a disease characterized by complex pathogens, rapid disease progression, high mortality rate and high disability rate. Here, we evaluated the clinical value of metagenomic next generation sequencing (mNGS) in the diagnosis of central nervous system infections and explored the factors affecting the results of mNGS. We conducted a retrospective study to compare mNGS with conventional methods including culture, smear and etc. 111 suspected CNS infectious patients were enrolled in this study, and clinical data were recorded. Chi-square test were used to evaluate independent binomial variables, taking p < 0.05 as statistically significant threshold. Of the 111 enrolled cases, 57.7% (64/111) were diagnosed with central nervous system infections. From these cases, mNGS identified 39.6% (44/111) true-positive cases, 7.2% (8/111) false-positive case, 35.1% (39/111) true-negative cases, and 18.0% (20/111) false-negative cases. The sensitivity and specificity of mNGS were 68.7% (44/64) and 82.9% (39/47), respectively. Compared with culture, mNGS provided a higher pathogen detection rate in CNSIs patients (68.7% (44/64) vs. 26.5% (17/64), p < 0.0001). Compared to conventional methods, positive percent agreement and negative percent agreement was 84.60% (44/52) and 66.1% (39/59) separately. At a species-specific read number (SSRN) ≥ 2, mNGS performance in the diagnosis of definite viral encephalitis and/or meningitis was optimal (area under the curve [AUC] 0.758, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.663–0.854). In bacterial CNSIs patients with significant CSF abnormalities (CSF WBC > 300*106/L), the positive rate of CSF mNGS is higher. To sum up, conventional microbiologic testing is insufficient to detect all neuroinvasive pathogens, and mNGS exhibited satisfactory diagnostic performance in CNSIs and with an overall detection rate higher than culture (p < 0.0001). Zeolitic Imidazole Frameworks (ZIFs) have recently appeared as a new class of nonporous materials featuring notable physicochemical properties. In particular, ZIFs with core-shell structures have drawn a great deal of attention from research communities owing to their unique features, including superior specific surface area, high porosity content, extraordinary thermal, chemical, and structural stability, feasible synthesis conditions in a mild reaction, and facile growth on external surfaces of core nanostructures. This growth facilitates the synthesis of core/shell hybrid materials, which contain both organic (2-MIM) and inorganic (metal nodes) groups. As a structural advantage, the core/shell configuration favorably promotes the potential implementation of ZIFs in various functional fields, e.g. catalysis, drug delivery, adsorption, separation, and purification applications. The current review investigates recent advances in synthesizing and applying ZIFs with core-shell structures. This research review is divided into four parts. The first part overviews synthesis methods for ZIFs and discusses these nanostructures’ structural and material characteristics. Due to a wide band gap and large exciton binding energy, zinc oxide (ZnO) is currently receiving much attention in various areas, and can be prepared in various forms including nanorods, nanowires, nanoflowers, and so on. The reliability of ZnO produced by a single dopant is unstable, which in turn promotes the development of co-doping techniques. Co-doping is a very promising technique to effectively modulate the optical, electrical, magnetic, and photocatalytic properties of ZnO, as well as the ability to form various structures. In this paper, the important advances in co-doped ZnO nanomaterials are summarized, as well as the preparation of co-doped ZnO nanomaterials by using different methods, including hydrothermal, solvothermal, sol-gel, and acoustic chemistry. In addition, the wide range of applications of co-doped ZnO nanomaterials in photocatalysis, solar cells, gas sensors, and biomedicine are discussed. In this review, we introduce dynamic covalent bonds that operate without catalysts in various temperature ranges. The basic bonding mechanism and the kinetics are examined to understand dynamic covalent chemistry reversibly performed by equilibrium control. Due to its excellent photocatalytic performance over the last few years, graphiticlike carbon nitride (g-C3N4) has garnered considerable notice as a photocatalyst. Nevertheless, several limitations, including small surface area, the rates at which photo-generated electrons and holes recombine are swift, and the inefficient separation and transport of photoexcited carriers continue to impede its solar energy utilization. To overcome those limitations in single-component g-C3N4, constructing a heterogeneous photocatalytic system has emerged as an effective way. Among the various studies involving the incorporation of hetero composite materials to design heterojunctions, among the most promising approaches is to assemble a Z-scheme photocatalytic configuration. The Z-scheme configuration is essential because it facilitates efficient photocarrier separation and exhibits superior redox ability in separated electrons and holes. Moreover, ternary composites have demonstrated enhanced photocatalytic activities and reinforced photostability. Ternary Z-scheme heterostructures constructed with g-C3N4 possess all the above-mentioned merits and provide a pioneering strategy for implementing photocatalytic systems for environmental and energy sustainability. A summary of the latest technological advancements toward design and fabrication in ternary allsolid-state Z-scheme (ASSZ) and direct Z-scheme (DZ) photocatalysts built on g-C3N4 is presented in this review. Metal-free, low-cost, organic photocatalytic graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) has become a promising and impressive material in numerous scientific fields due to its unique physical and chemical properties. Background: The current era of digitalization is encouraging public health literacy to increase, especially among teenagers who are close to gadgets, so that the term e-health literacy is known, namely digital health literacy is defined as the ability to search, find and understand health information available in resources. electronically and use information obtained from these resources to overcome health problems. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of application-based reproductive health education to increase positive behavior of adolescents in Ternate City. Method: This research uses a Quasi-experimental method (Pre-post Control Design). The number of samples in this study was 300 teenagers aged 12-15 years, in Ternate City. The measurement uses a questionnaire to measure knowledge, attitudes, actions, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and health literacy. The analysis used is the mean difference test, namely the Wilcoxon test and the Mann-Whitney test. Research Results: The distribution of respondents based on age groups in the control group and in the intervention group was mostly in the 13 year age group, namely 119 people (79.3%) and 111 people (74.0%), the most common gender was female. The results of the analysis showed that there were no differences between the control and intervention groups before treatment, there were differences between the control and intervention groups after treatment, there were differences before and after treatment in the variables knowledge (p value = 0.000), action (p value = 0.000), and health literacy (0.007) (p value < 0.05). However, there is no difference for the variables Attitude, Subjective Norms, Behavioral Control. In recent years, there has been continuous growth in the market for polylactide/poly(lactic acid) (PLA) which can be attributed to the increasing preference for environmentally friendly products derived from renewable resources. Apart from its established biomedical applications, polylactide is being considered as a replacement for petroleum-based polymers in various industries, including packaging, electronics, automotive, and textiles. However, PLA modification is necessary to meet the properties of common thermoplastics for target applications. One of the modification methods involves the synthesis of PLA block copolymers, including widely exploited polymers of vinyl monomers (PVM). This review article covers a wide range of applications suggested for PLA/PVM block copolymers as discussed in recent articles. A brief overview of the synthesis methods for PLA/PVM block copolymers is provided. The tendency of block copolymers to self-assemble, leading to specific morphologies, is discussed, and applications that take advantage of this behavior, such as polymeric micelles or porous materials, are highlighted. Examples of using micelles for the delivery of biologically active compounds are presented. Other biomedical applications, such as materials for tissue engineering and medical devices, are also discussed. Indeed, epidemiologists report that digital contact tracing probably reduced the incidence of COVID-19 cases by at least 25% in many countries, a feat that would have been hard to match with its manual counterpart. Yet there is also reason to speculate that digital contact tracing delivered on only a fraction of its potential because it almost completely ignored the relevant psychological science. The regulation of the cancer cell cycle heavily relies on cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs). Targeting CDKs has been identified as a promising approach for effective cancer therapy. In recent years, there has been significant attention paid towards developing small-molecule CDK inhibitors in the field of drug discovery. Notably, five such inhibitors have already received regulatory approval for the treatment of different cancers, including breast tumors, lung malignancies, and hematological malignancies. This review provides an overview of the synthetic routes used to produce 17 representative small-molecule CDK inhibitors that have obtained regulatory approval or are currently being evaluated through clinical trials. It also discusses their clinical applications for treating CDK-related diseases and explores the challenges and limitations associated with their use in a clinical setting, which will stimulate the further development of novel CDK inhibitors. This study will lay a solid foundation for further optimization of the extraction process of C. speciosa polysaccharides and the development of their products. Background: Ultraviolet (UV)‐exposure behaviors can directly impact an individual's skin cancer risk, with many habits formed during childhood and adolescence. We explored the utility of a photoaging smartphone application to motivate youth to improve sun safety practices. Methods: Participants completed a preintervention survey to gather baseline sun safety perceptions and behaviors. Participants then used a photoaging mobile application to view the projected effects of chronic UV exposure on participants' self‐face image over time, followed by a postintervention survey to assess motivation to engage in future sun safety practices. Results: The study sample included 87 participants (median [interquartile (IQR)] age, 14 [11–16] years). Most participants were White (50.6%) and reported skin type that burns a little and tans easily (42.5%). Preintervention sun exposure behaviors among participants revealed that 33 (37.9%) mostly or always used sunscreen on a sunny day, 48 (55.2%) experienced at least one sunburn over the past year, 26 (30.6%) engaged in outdoor sunbathing at least once during the past year, and zero (0%) used indoor tanning beds. Non‐skin of color (18 [41.9%], p =.02) and older (24 [41.4%], p =.007) participants more often agreed they felt better with a tan. Most participants agreed the intervention increased their motivation to practice sun‐protective behaviors (wear sunscreen, 74 [85.1%]; wear hats, 64 [74.4%]; avoid indoor tanning, 73 [83.9%]; avoid outdoor tanning, 68 [79%]). Conclusion: The findings of this cross‐sectional study suggest that a photoaging smartphone application may serve as a useful tool to promote sun safety behaviors from a young age. Child abuse and neglect is a widespread social problem. The prevalence of this problem threatens the present and future of children. Although various prevention programs have been proposed in the literature as a solution to the problem of child abuse and neglect, recently, technological applications have been increasingly used in prevention and intervention studies for abuse and neglect. This study aims to review the current literature on technologically assisted programs for preventing child abuse and neglect. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guideline was used to identify eligible studies. 22 evidence-based studies with pretest-posttest control were included in the review. The reviewed programs were structured to educate parents, children, and various professionals on appropriate parenting skills and child abuse and neglect. In the studies reviewed, web/internet-based applications were mostly used and effectiveness evaluation studies were mainly conducted on parents. With the exception of one study, the programs were found to be effective following interventions for abuse and neglect, and cognitive and behavioral improvements were noted in parents, children, and other professionals. As a result, it can be said that technology-based prevention programs are accepted practices for child abuse and neglect. To date, however, there is little data to support the use of such studies in preventive practices and strategies. Introduction: Parents of children with a neurodevelopmental disorder (NDD) experience more stress than parents of typically developing children. In a cocreation process with experts and parents, a low-threshold application that uses exercises based on the principles of positive psychology and mindfulness was developed. This application, called "Adappt," aims at enhancing the ability to adapt of the parents and caregivers of children with NDDs and at supporting their mental health. This protocol describes the evaluation study of the effectiveness of Adappt, its core working mechanisms and user experiences. Method: A pragmatic international multicenter randomized controlled trial will compare the effectiveness of Adappt with a (delayed) waitlist control condition. At least 212 parents or primary caregivers of children younger than 18 years diagnosed with or suspected of a NDD will be randomly assigned to the intervention or waitlist control condition. Participants are excluded if they have severe anxiety or depression levels or are in treatment for mental health issues. Measures will be collected online at baseline, post-intervention (1 month after baseline), and 4 and 7 months after baseline. The primary outcome is the improvement in generic sense of ability to adapt as measured with the Generic Sense of Ability to Adapt Scale (GSAAS; (Front Psychol 14:985408, 2023)) at 4-month follow-up. Secondary outcomes are mental well-being, (parental) distress, and client satisfaction with "Adappt." Discussion: Results of this study will contribute to knowledge on the effectiveness of a low-threshold application for parents of children with a NDD in multiple countries. If the application is found to be effective in improving mental health, recommendations will be made for implementation in health care.
