The ferroelectric tunneling junctions (FTJs) are widely recognized as one of the non-volatile memories with significant potential. Ferroelectricity usually fades away as materials are thinned down below a critical value, and this problem is particularly acute in the case of shrinking device sizes, thus attracting attention to two-dimensional ferroelectric materials (2DFEMs). In this work, we designed 2D ferroelectric Ga2O3-based FTJs with out-of-plane polarization, and the influence of metal–semiconductor contact in the electrode region on the system is considered. Here, using density functional theory combined with the non-equilibrium Green's function approach to quantum transport calculations, we demonstrate robust ferroelectric polarization-controlled switching behavior between metallic and semiconducting states in Ga2O3/WS2 ferroelectric heterostructures. The potential barrier of the metal–semiconductor contact in the electrode region is lower than that of the intrinsic material, thereby resulting in an increased probability of electron tunneling. Our results reveal the crucial role of 2DFEMs in the construction of FTJs and highlight the significant impact of electrode contact types on performance. Dilution refrigerators are widely used in the fields of condensed matter physics and quantum technology. The condensation-driven dilution refrigerator uses a condenser operating at temperatures below the Still to liquefy the 3He vapor and achieve the circulation of 3He, which has the advantages of compact structure, lightweight, low cost, and low vibration. The published research primarily focuses on the system architecture and performance, and the research and analysis on the thermodynamic cycle are still incomplete. In this paper, the condensation-driven dilution refrigeration cycle has been clarified as a thermally driven refrigeration cycle, and the thermodynamic performances including the figure of merit and thermodynamic perfectibility are investigated. Optimizations have been made to the key components of the previous prototype, and the lowest no-load temperature of 68 mK and a cooling power of 4 μW at 100 mK were achieved. Compared with the previous prototype, the thermodynamic perfectibility of the system increased from 7.63% to 17.83%. We present experimental demonstration and modeling of mechanical wave propagation in a quasi-one-dimensional (quasi-1D) phononic crystal (PnC) waveguide (WG) constructed from a periodic array of single-crystal cubic-silicon carbide (3C-SiC) coupled micromechanical resonators, with an exceptional dynamic range exceeding 92 dB. The PnC design comprises 50 periodic cells, enabling the propagation of flexural mechanical waves in high-frequency and very-high-frequency bands, featuring a broad PnC bandgap spanning approximately 24–27.5 MHz. Furthermore, the 3C-SiC PnC WG exhibits excellent characteristics, including a high group velocity of 350 m/s and a low transmission loss of 0.69 dB/mm, enabling efficient guidance and support for mechanical waves across extended distances before reaching the noise level of the device. These attributes of the PnC WG, as demonstrated in this study, may open possibilities for the development of device platforms with applications in on-chip signal processing, sensing, and quantum transducer technologies. Surface tension and interfacial tension are crucial to the study of nanomaterials. Herein, we report a solubility method using magnesium oxide nanoparticles of different radii (1.8–105.0 nm, MgO NPs) dissolved in pure water as a targeted model; the surface tension and interfacial tension (and their temperature coefficients) were determined by measuring electrical conductivity and combined with the principle of the electrochemical equilibrium method, and the problem of particle size dependence is discussed. Encouragingly, this method can also be used to determine the ionic (atomic or molecular) radius and Tolman length of nanomaterials. This research results disclose that surface/interfacial tension and their temperature coefficients have a significant relationship with particle size. Surface/interfacial tension decreases rapidly with a radius <10 nm (while the temperature coefficients are opposite), while for a radius >10 nm, the effect is minimal. Especially, it is proven that the value of Tolman length is positive, the effect of particle size on Tolman length is consistent with the surface/interfacial tension, and the Tolman length of the bulk does not change much in the temperature range. This work initiates a new era for reliable determination of surface/interfacial tension, their temperature coefficients, ionic radius, and Tolman length of nanomaterials and provides an important theoretical basis for the development and application of various nanomaterials. An exciton–polariton condensate is a hybrid light–matter state in the quantum fluid phase. The photonic component endows it with characters of spin, as represented by circular polarization. Spin-polarization can form stochastically for quasi-equilibrium exciton–polariton condensates at parallel momentum vector k|| ∼ 0 from bifurcation or deterministically for propagating condensates at k|| > 0 from the optical spin-Hall effect (OSHE). Here, we report deterministic spin-polarization in exciton–polariton condensates at k|| ∼ 0 in microcavities containing methylammonium lead bromide perovskite (CH3NH3PbBr3) single crystals under non-resonant and linearly polarized excitation. We observe two energetically split condensates with opposite circular polarizations and attribute this observation to the presence of strong birefringence, which introduces a large OSHE at k|| ∼ 0 and pins the condensates in a particular spin state. Such spin-polarized exciton–polariton condensates may serve not only as circularly polarized laser sources but also as effective alternatives to ultracold atom Bose–Einstein condensates in quantum simulators of many-body spin–orbit coupling processes. The lattice thermal conductivity stands as a pivotal thermos-physical parameter of high-entropy alloys; nonetheless, achieving precise predictions of the lattice thermal conductivity for high-entropy alloys poses a formidable challenge due to their complex composition and structure. In this study, machine learning models were built to predict the lattice thermal conductivity of AlCoCrNiFe high-entropy alloy based on molecular dynamic simulations. Our model shows high accuracy with R2, mean absolute percentage error, and root mean square error of the test set is 0.91, 0.031, and 1.128 W m−1 k−1, respectively. In addition, a high-entropy alloy with low a lattice thermal conductivity of 2.06 W m−1 k−1 (Al8Cr30Co19Ni20Fe23) and with a high lattice thermal conductivity of 5.29 W m−1 k−1 (Al0.5Cr28.5Co25Ni25.5Fe20.5) was successfully predicted, which shows good agreement with the results from molecular dynamics simulations. The mechanisms of the thermal conductivity divergence are further explained through their phonon density of states and elastic modulus. The micro-discharge effect limits the development of high-frequency microwave power components to miniaturization and integration. Therefore, it has become a focus of research to effectively suppress the micro-discharge effect, increase the micro-discharge threshold, and strengthen the environmental stability of high-frequency microwave devices. In this study, different elemental ratios of carbon (C)/silver (Ag)/titanium (Ti) composite films were obtained by multi-target magnetron co-sputtering technology and then systematically analyzed for micro-discharge effects. When the doping ratio of C/Ag/Ti was 3.538/1/0.013, the corresponding maximum secondary electron emission coefficient (δmax) decreased to 1.01 owing to the suppression of secondary electron emission by the increase in the content of sp2 hybrid bond. The micro-discharge threshold of Ku band waveguide filters coated with moderate C/Ag/Ti composite films showed an optimal performance of 10 000−12 500 W, which was increased by approximately 20 times. Moreover, the microstructure of the composite films exhibited higher density and flatness with a tiny increase in the titanium doping ratio, representing good environmental stability. Thus, the effective suppression of the secondary electron emission yield, significant improvement in the micro-discharge threshold, and enhancement of the environment stability of microwave components could be realized simultaneously by reasonably controlling the content of titanium in silver and titanium co-doped carbon-based composite films. Introduction: Although sertraline has been widely used for chronic prostatitis (CP), the mechanisms are unclear. Herein, we explored the mechanisms of sertraline in treating CP. Methods: Network pharmacology methods were used to explore the potential targets and molecular mechanisms. LPS was used to stimulate RWPE-1 cells to construct an in vitro model of CP. An experimental autoimmune prostatitis (EAP) mice model was built. CCK-8 assay, EdU assay, BrdU detection, and Tunel assay were performed to evaluate the proliferation and apoptosis process of cells or tissues, respectively. DCFH-DA and Fluo-4 fluorescence probes were used to detect intracellular ROS and calcium concentrations. Von Frey filaments and open-field tests were utilized to evaluate pain response and depressive-like behavior of mice. Histopathology was evaluated through hematoxylin and eosin staining. RT-qPCR, Western blot, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry were utilized to evaluate the transcription, expression, and location of related proteins. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) assay were performed to measure the binding capacity of sertraline and related proteins. Results: Through a network pharmacology analysis, 27 potential targets of sertraline for CP were obtained, and 5 key targets (CHRM1, ADRA1B, HTR2B, HTR2A, and TRPV1) were finally identified. Functional experiments suggested that TRPV1 was involved in the proliferation, apoptosis inhibition, and ROS production of LPS-induced RWPE-1 cells. In vitro experiments showed that sertraline significantly inhibited cell proliferation, ROS generation, and transcription of inflammation cytokines of LPS-induced RWPE-1 cells. Additionally, sertraline markedly promoted the apoptosis level of LPS-stimulated RWPE-1 cells and elevated the expression level of BAX while reducing the expression levels of Bcl2 and Caspase-3. MD simulation and SPR assay confirmed the direct binding of sertraline to TRPV1. Moreover, sertraline significantly down-regulated the expression level of TRPV1 and inhibited calcium influx of LPS-induced RWPE-1 cells. TRPV1 agonist (Capsaicin) significantly restored the effects on proliferation, apoptosis, ROS production, and calcium influx of sertraline on LPS-induced RWPE-1 cells. Mice experiments demonstrated that sertraline treatment could reduce pain response, improve depression-like symptoms, and relieve local prostate inflammation of EAP mice, as well as down-regulated the expression level of TRPV1, inhibit the proliferation, and promote apoptosis of prostate tissues in EAP mice. Discussion: The results revealed the anti-inflammatory effect of sertraline for RWPE-1 cells and EAP mice, and the potential mechanism was regulating the TRPV1 channel. For over half a century, traditional silicon-based integrated circuits (ICs) have been the basis of computational electronics and are widely used in computers, cell phones, and other fields. With the rapid development of human society, silicon-based semiconductor technology is approaching its physical and engineering limits. Our increasing diversity of non-traditional computing needs, such as ultra-small, ultra-fast, ultra-low-power wearables, and space radiation protection, is driving the search for new electronic materials. Semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes (s-SWCNTs) have many excellent electrical properties, such as high carrier mobility and high ballistic transport, making them strong candidates for new semiconductor materials in the post-Moore era. Carbon-based electronic technology has been developed for over 20 years, and the fundamental issues such as the material purification of s-SWCNTs, preparation prospects of s-SWCNT-based field-effect transistors (CNT FETs), and device physics based on CNT FETs have been basically solved. However, the chiral diversity of s-SWCNTs may lead to problems such as fluctuations in the electrical performance of CNT FETs, limiting the application of s-SWCNTs in high-end ICs. Monochiral s-SWCNTs not only have excellent electrical properties but also have a controllable structure and uniformity, which are crucial for the high-end IC of CNTs. However, some problems exist in the purity and yield of monochiral s-SWCNT preparation and the optimization of monochiral CNT FETs. Therefore, the chiral sorting of CNTs is reviewed in this paper, and the progress of polymer reprocessing in chiral separation is highlighted. Then, the research progress of monochiral CNT FETs is introduced, and possible development directions are summarized and analyzed. Two-dimensional molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) has been proved to be a good candidate in photodetectors, and MoS2/graphene (MoS2/G) heterostructure has been widely used to expand the optical response wavelength of MoS2. To clarify the carrier transfer dynamics in the MoS2/G heterostructure, time-resolved transient absorption and two-color pump–probe measurements are performed. By comparing the carrier dynamics in MoS2 and MoS2/G under different pump wavelengths, we find that interfacial excitons are formed in the heterostructure, and fast hot carriers transfer (<200 fs) from graphene to MoS2 are observed. The results indicate that the formed heterostructure with graphene can not only expand the optical response wavelength of MoS2 but also improve the response time of the device in the near-infrared region. Background: Oral leukoplakia (OLK) is a prevalent precancerous lesion with limited non-pharmacological treatment options. Surgery and various lasers are the mainstay of treatment; however, their relative efficacy and optimal choice remain unclear. This first network meta-analysis compared the effects of different lasers and surgical excision on post-treatment recurrence and comfort in OLK patients. Methods: We searched four databases for relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) up to April 2023. The primary outcome was post-treatment recurrence, and secondary outcomes included intraoperative hemorrhage and postoperative pain scores. The Cochrane Risk of Bias tool was used to assess the study quality. Meta-analysis and network meta-analysis were employed to determine efficacy and identify the optimal intervention. Results: A total of 11 RCTs including 917 patients and 1138 lesions were included. Er,Cr:YSGG laser treatment showed significantly lower recurrence rates compared to CO2 laser (OR: 0.04; 95% CI: 0.01–0.18), CO2 laser with margin extension (OR: 0.06; 95% CI: 0.01–0.60), Er:YAG laser (OR: 0.10; 95% CI: 0.03–0.37), electrocautery (OR: 0.03; 95% CI: 0.00–0.18), and standard care (OR: 0.08; 95% CI: 0.02–0.33). Er,Cr:YSGG laser also ranked the best for reducing recurrence, followed by standard care and CO2 laser combined with photodynamic therapy (PDT). Er:YAG and Er:Cr:YSGG lasers minimized bleeding and pain, respectively. None of the interventions caused severe adverse effects. Conclusion: For non-homogeneous OLK, Er:YAG, Er:Cr:YSGG, and CO2 laser combined with PDT offer promising alternatives to surgical excision, potentially reducing recurrence and improving patient comfort. Undesired ice accumulation can lead to serious negative impacts on daily life and equipment safety. Slippery liquid-infused surfaces (SLISs) have been widely studied for their low ice adhesion strength (τ ice ). However, the lack of durability, weak robustness, and complex preparation process hinder the application of SLISs. In this work, robust oil-infused porous surface (RIPS) was obtained by a facile one-step method, which used epoxy resin (E44) as a substrate and contained fumed silica and silicone oil. The RIPS-6 displays outstanding anti-icing/deicing ability, superior liquid repellency, good self-cleaning performance, and excellent mechanical robustness. At −5 °C, the water droplet remained unfrozen after 7200 s. τ ice was only 6.9 kPa at −20 °C and remained below 15 kPa during 10 icing cycles. Furthermore, the mixture of E44 and fumed silica enhanced the mechanical properties including the hardness (4 H) and abrasion resistance of RIPS-6. The icephobicity can be remained (τice < 40 kPa) even after 150 cycles of sandpaper abrasion at 2.5 kPa. The anti-icing and deicing coating with excellent mechanical stability and durability significantly improves the practical application possibility of the coating in harsh environments. Semi-supervised object detection aims to enhance object detectors by utilizing a large number of unlabeled images, which has gained increasing attention in natural scenes. However, when these methods are directly applied to scenes with tiny objects, they face the challenge of selecting pseudo-labels with high localization quality due to the minuscule and blurred characteristics of these objects. To address this issue, we propose a novel method called semi-supervised tiny object detection (STOD). Firstly, to enhance the localization accuracy of pseudo-labels, we design a dense IoU-aware head that evaluates the quality of bounding box localization by incorporating additional predicted overlap values. Secondly, to mine more potential pseudo-labels, we propose a GMM-based multi-threshold pseudo-labels mining module that dynamically generates multiple thresholds using classification scores and overlap values to classify bounding boxes into strong positive and weak positive pseudo-labels. Lastly, we design the localization-aware weighting loss to incorporate the localization quality of both positive and negative samples in order to enhance the accuracy of pseudo-label localization. The experimental results show that STOD achieves comparable performance when compared to both fully and semi-supervised methods. Notably, on the VisDrone-Partial benchmark, STOD achieves outstanding results by outperforming our baseline model with improvements of 3.1 mAP, 5.7 A P 50 , and 3.0 A P 75 . [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Summary: Chloroplasts play a crucial role in plant defense against pathogens, making them primary targets for pathogen effectors that suppress host immunity. This study characterizes the Plasmopara viticola CRN‐like effector, PvCRN20, which interacts with DEG5 in the cytoplasm but not with its interacting protein, DEG8, which is located in the chloroplast.By transiently overexpressing in tobacco leaves, we show that PvCRN20 could inhibit INF1‐ and Bax‐triggered cell death. Constitutive expression of PvCRN20 suppresses the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and promotes pathogen colonization. PvCRN20 reduces DEG5 entry into chloroplasts, thereby disrupting DEG5 and DEG8 interactions in chloroplasts.Overexpression of VvDEG5 and VvDEG8 induces ROS accumulation and enhances grapevine resistance to P. viticola, whereas knockout of VvDEG8 represses ROS production and promotes P. viticola colonization. Consistently, ectopic expression of VvDEG5 and VvDEG8 in tobacco promotes chloroplast‐derived ROS accumulation, whereas co‐expression of PvCRN20 counteracted this promotion by VvDEG5. Therefore, DEG5 is essential for the virulence function of PvCRN20. Although PvCRN20 is located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, only cytoplasmic PvCRN20 suppresses plant immunity and promotes pathogen infection.Our results reveal that PvCRN20 dampens plant defenses by repressing the chloroplast import of DEG5, thus reducing host ROS accumulation and facilitating pathogen colonization. Summary: The shape of rice grains not only determines the thousand‐grain weight but also correlates closely with the grain quality.Here we identified an ultra‐large grain accession (ULG) with a thousand‐grain weight exceeding 60 g. The integrated analysis of QTL, BSA, de novo genome assembled, transcription sequencing, and gene editing was conducted to dissect the molecular basis of the ULG formation.The ULG pyramided advantageous alleles from at least four known grain‐shaping genes, OsLG3, OsMADS1, GS3, GL3.1, and one novel locus, qULG2‐b, which encoded a leucine‐rich repeat receptor‐like kinase. The collective impacts of OsLG3, OsMADS1, GS3, and GL3.1 on grain size were confirmed in transgenic plants and near‐isogenic lines. The transcriptome analysis identified 112 genes cooperatively regulated by these four genes that were prominently involved in photosynthesis and carbon metabolism. By leveraging the pleiotropy of these genes, we enhanced the grain yield, appearance, and stress tolerance of rice var. SN265.Beyond showcasing the pyramiding of multiple grain size regulation genes that can produce ULG, our study provides a theoretical framework and valuable genomic resources for improving rice variety by leveraging the pleiotropy of grain size regulated genes. Comprehensive Summary: Compared to well‐established 1,5‐HAT of N‐centered radicals, the synthetic applications of 1,2‐HAT process were scarce due to the high barrier and constrained three‐membered transition state. Here, we have developed a novel C(sp3)‐H gem‐difluoroallylation via a base assisted formal 1,2‐HAT of amidyl radicals with the reductive quenching cycle of photocatalyst. This transformation enables the efficient formation of α‐aminoalkyl radicals via 1,2‐HAT and showcases good functional group tolerance. Our preliminary mechanistic experiments, along with Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations demonstrate the feasibility of 1,2‐HAT of amidyl radicals, especially when assisted by a base. PbX(OH) (X = Cl, Br, I) is considered one of the effective encapsulation matrixes to improve the stability and luminescence efficiency of perovskites. Several strategies have been explored to construct perovskite@PbBr(OH) composites with high photoluminescence quantum yield. However, there is limited research on their precise growth kinetics mechanism and morphology control. Herein, PbBr2 microwires (MWs) were applied to act as the lead source and serve as a skeleton frame for the growth of CH3NH3PbBr3 (MAPbBr3) MWs. The structure transition from MAPbBr3 to MAPbBr3@PbBr(OH) MWs was triggered by the synergistic effect of H2O and CH3NH3OOCCH3 (methylamine acetate, MAAc). All components and synthesis processes used in this system are explicit, which allows a more in-depth exploration of the MAPbBr3@PbBr(OH) formation kinetics. The results indicate that the hydrolysis of MAAc provides OH- and partly replaces Br- ions in MAPbBr3 to form the MAPbBrxAc3-x intermediate, which induces the transformation of MAPbBr3 into PbBr(OH) until the stable MAPbBr3@PbBr(OH) microwires are formed. Based on this growth kinetics process, utilizing H2O--MAAc and extra sodium halide (NaCl, NaI) mixture can synthesize MAPbBrnX3-n@PbX(OH) (X = Cl, I) microwires successfully. Our study can open a new avenue for developing high-efficiency and high-stability fluorescent hybrid perovskites for three primary color detectors, lasing cavities, and sensors. Low efficiency of photogenerated electron–hole separation has been a challenge for organic conjugated polymer photocatalysts. Our preceding studies have revealed that polymers containing B←N coordination bonds can form a localized built-in electric field that effectively promotes photogenerated charge separation. However, B←N coordination units are still scarce and require more examples to find regularities in their structural design. The systematic development and testing of B←N coordination units is necessary for the efficient development of subsequent polymers containing B←N coordination bonds. In this work, three conjugated polymers containing B←N coordination bonds, PBN–Ni, PBP–Ni, and PBS–Ni, were synthesized by changing the substituents of the boron atoms and introducing narrow-band thiophene units to form conjugate and energy band gradients. The energy band modulation and localized built-in electric field construction were both achieved as planned, while the bandgap and photogenerated charge transport capabilities caused performance discrepancies. The experimental results showed that PBN–Ni had a better photocatalytic hydrogen evolution (HER) performance, reaching 104.6 μmol h−1 (λ > 420 nm). The optimal optical absorption edge of PBS–Ni was up to 643 nm, but the HER was lower, at 33.2 μmol h−1 (λ > 420 nm, 1% Pt). PBP–Ni optimized some of the optical absorption efficiencies (511 nm) while ensuring the HER activity (96.6 μmol h−1, λ > 420 nm). This work tentatively explores the characterization of the B←N coordination bond-containing base units serving as photocatalysts and provides the basic model experience and data reference for the subsequent expansion of B←N coordination bond-containing units and the development of B←N coordination bond-containing copolymer systems. Objective: To determine the function of miR-125a-5p in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), its correlation with radiation sensitivity, and the underlying regulatory mechanism. Materials and methods: We conducted the analysis on the correlation between miR-125a-5p and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) using data obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). The putative gene targeted by miR-125a-5p has been identified as HK2, while the expression levels of miR-125a-5p and HK2 were measured in laryngeal cancer tissues and cells using RTPCR. MiR-125a-5p and HK2 were introduced into the lentiviral vector and the vector was used to transfect AMC-HN-8 cells. The roles of miR-125a-5p and HK2 in LSCC and on radiosensitivity were determined by evaluating cell growth, examining colony formation, analyzing flow cytometry, and utilizing the single hit multi-target model. Western blotting was used to measure H2AX and rH2AX levels in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway. The validation of the interaction between miR-125a-5p and HK2 was conducted through the dualluciferase assay. To further confirm the association between miR-125a-5p and HK2, as well as its influence on radiosensitivity, rescue experiments were performed. Results: The expression of miR-125a-5p is downregulated in LSCC, while upregulating its expression could suppress cell growth, induce apoptosis, and enhance radiosensitivity. Additionally, HK2 exhibited high expression in LSCC and the biological function was opposite to miR-125a-5p. Western blotting analysis revealed that miR-125a-5p increased rH2AX levels and decreased H2AX levels, conversely, HK2 had the opposite effect on miR-125a-5p. These findings suggested that HK2 may serve as the target gene of miR-125a-5p. The double luciferase assay confirmed the binding of HK2 to miR-125a-5p, and rescue trials confirmed the role of miR-125a-5p in regulating the effects and radiation sensitivity of LSCC by targeting HK2 via the DDR pathway. Conclusion: By targeting HK2 and impacting the DDR pathway, miR-125a-5p has been found to inhibit cellular proliferation, enhance apoptosis, and heighten radiosensitivity in LSCC. Technological innovation is changing the way maritime transport is done, and automated driving is one of the hot topics, including unmanned ships that use automated driving technology, but legal challenges to the application of unmanned ships in the shipping industry must be resolved before that happens --whether and how the principles of existing international conventions regarding unmanned ships. To deal with this problem, it is far from enough to rely on the efforts of international organizations or the revision of international conventions. The paper analyzes several typical legal issues faced by unmanned ships: the legal definition of unmanned ships, the seaworthiness of unmanned ships, the master and crew rules, and the collision and rescue of unmanned ships, taking China as an example, the paper explains reasonable and effective legal path of domestic and international laws, trying to seek solutions at the level of domestic law beyond international convention. The paper concludes that the traditional navigation rules have largely been developed to meet the needs of manned transportation, and cannot be fully applied to unmanned ships. Therefore, until there is an international regulation specifically for unmanned ships, it would be appropriate to interpret or revise existing international conventions to apply to unmanned ships. Monitoring organic pollutants in rainwater is important to understand relations between air pollutants and water safety. Non-targeted liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS) is a powerful tool but because of big differences of pollutants in polarity, ionization efficiency, and low concentrations, it is challenging to detect all pollutants in a single analysis. Chemical derivatization is a widely adapted strategy to fractionate complex samples with enhanced sensitivity and selectivity. Herein, we propose the usage of dansylation as a chemical derivatization method to improve both LC retention and MS ionization of organic pollutants containing amine, hydroxyl, and carboxyl for non-targeted LC–MS analysis. We first evaluated the labeling coverage of dansylation to organic pollutants in water matrix. Using dansyl chloride (DnsCl) and dansyl hydrazine (DnsHz) to label 100 amine- and hydroxyl-containing compounds and 100 carboxyl compounds, respectively, we found DnsCl and DnsHz had over 60% labeling coverage for 8 categories of compounds. Then dansylation was applied to label the rainwater, source water, disinfected rainwater, and drinking water samples. To facilitate the annotation of dansylated compounds, we also established a web-based tool termed DansylFinder. Using DansylFinder, 3889, 5813, 6077, and 4050 tentative annotations were found in rainwater, source water, disinfected rainwater, and drinking water samples by dansylation-based non-targeted LC-HRMS analysis. Four hundred fifty four were persistently detected in all water samples, suggesting significant organic overlaps of the four water samples. In addition, two degradation pathways reported in drinking water disinfection process were also detected in disinfected rainwater, suggesting rainwater is a potential path for air pollutants to infiltrate drinking water system. A model is proposed for liquid film profile prediction in gas-liquid two-phase flow, which is able to provide the film thickness along the circumferential direction and the pressure gradient in the flow direction. A two-fluid model is used to calculate both gas and liquid phases' flow characteristics. The secondary flow occurring in the gas phase is taken into account and a sailing boat mechanism is introduced. Moreover, energy conservation is applied for obtaining the liquid film thickness distribution along the circumference. Liquid film thickness distribution is calculated accordingly for different cases; its values are compared with other models and available experimental data. As a result, the newly proposed model is tested and good performances are demonstrated. The liquid film thickness distribution in small pipes and inclined pipes is also studied, and regime transition is revealed by liquid film profile evolution. The observed inflection point demonstrates that the liquid film thickness decreases steeply along the circumference, when the circle angle ranges between 30° and 50° for gas-liquid stratified flow with small superficial velocities. Background: To evaluate the perioperative, oncological, and functional outcomes of reproductive organ-preserving radical cystectomy (ROPRC) compared to standard radical cystectomy (SRC) in the treatment of female bladder cancer. Methods: A systematic search was conducted in November 2023 across several scientific databases. We executed a systematic review and cumulative meta-analysis of the primary outcomes of interest, adhering to the PRISMA and AMSTAR guidelines. The study was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42024501522). Results: The meta-analysis included 10 studies with a total of 2015 participants. ROPRC showed a significant reduction in operative time and postoperative fasting period compared to SRC (MD − 45.69, 95% CI − 78.91 ~ − 12.47, p = 0.007, and MD − 0.69, 95% CI − 1.25 ~ − 0.13, p = 0.02, respectively). Functional outcomes, both daytime continence rate (OR 4.94, 95% CI 1.53 ~ 15.91, p = 0.008) and nighttime continence rate (OR 5.91, 95% CI 1.94 ~ 18.01, p = 0.002), and sexual function measured by the Female Sexual Function Index (MD 5.72, 95% CI 0.19 ~ 11.26, p = 0.04), were significantly improved in the ROPRC group. There were no significant differences between ROPRC and SRC in terms of estimated blood loss, length of hospital stay, overall postoperative complications, minor complications or major complications. Oncologically, both procedures showed comparable outcomes with no significant differences in positive surgical margins, tumor recurrence rates, overall survival, cancer-specific survival, recurrence-free survival, or progression-free survival. Conclusions: ROPRC is a viable and effective alternative to SRC in female bladder cancer patients, offering enhanced functional outcomes and similar oncological safety. In most practical engineering applications, the translating belt wraps around two fixed wheels. The boundary conditions of the dynamic model are typically specified as simply supported or fixed boundaries. In this paper, non-homogeneous boundaries are introduced by the support wheels. Utilizing the translating belt as the mechanical prototype, the vibration characteristics of translating Timoshenko beam models with non-homogeneous boundaries are investigated for the first time. The governing equations of Timoshenko beam are deduced by employing the generalized Hamilton's principle. The effects of parameters such as the radius of wheel and the length of belt on vibration characteristics including the equilibrium deformations, critical velocities, natural frequencies, and modes, are numerically calculated and analyzed. The numerical results indicate that the beam experiences deformation characterized by varying curvatures near the wheels. The radii of the wheels play a pivotal role in determining the change in trend of the relative difference between two beam models. Comparing the results unearths that the relative difference in equilibrium deformations between the two beam models is more pronounced with smaller-sized wheels. When the two wheels are of equal size, the critical velocities of both beam models reach their respective minima. In addition, the relative difference in natural frequencies between the two beam models exhibits nonlinear variation and can easily exceed 50%. Furthermore, as the axial velocities increase, the impact of non-homogeneous boundaries on modal shape of translating beam becomes more significant. Although dealing with non-homogeneous boundaries is challenging, beam models with non-homogeneous boundaries are more sensitive to parameters, and the differences between the two types of beams undergo some interesting variations under the influence of non-homogeneous boundaries. Rock discontinuity information plays a key role in engineering activities. In severely fragmented and discontinuous samples, the identification accuracy of rock discontinuities can be improved with the help of geologic knowledge with identified spatial features and geoscience interaction mechanisms. Therefore, we proposed a new method – a knowledge-based intelligent recognition method for rock discontinuities that used point cloud data – to correct inaccurate identification by considering the spatial relationships of rock discontinuities. This paper integrated the geologic knowledge bases in rock discontinuity information extraction rules and combined the generative rule inference model with the region growing method for intelligent extraction. In the case study, we developed four typical rule sets as examples based on the constructed rule system to group rock discontinuities and subsume the fractured rock discontinuities. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) as semiconductor‐like materials, are considered to be promising photocatalysts for heterogeneous phtotocatalytic oxidation of styrene. Herein, copper‐based MOFs and titanium dioxide composite bifunctional photocatalyst (Cu–benzene‐1,3,5‐tricarboxylate‐titanium dioxide, Cu‐BTC‐TiO2) wereas synthesized, and the selective oxidation of styrene was achieved under mild conditions of oxygen and water. Cu‐BTC‐TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) exhibited more than three times higher styrene conversion than Cu‐BTC and TiO2 individually under same condition, and the desired product benzaldehyde can be obtained with up to 82% yield. The improved performance may be attributed to the acid site of Cu‐BTC, which is conducive to the adsorption and activation of styrene. In addition, the formation of heterojunction between Cu‐BTC and TiO2 can regulate the band gap of photocatalyst, which is favorable for light absorption, and facilitate the separation, transportation and utilization of photogenerated electron holes. Recent advancements in offline reinforcement learning (offline RL) have leveraged the Q-ensemble approach to derive optimal policies from static datasets collected in the past. By increasing the batch size, a portion of Q-ensemble instances penalizing out-of-distribution (OOD) data can be replaced, significantly reducing the Q-ensemble size while maintaining comparable performance and expediting the algorithm's training. To further enhance the Q-ensembles' ability to penalize OOD data, a technique involving large batch punishment and a binary classification network was employed. This method differentiates in-distribution (ID) data from OOD data. For ID data, positive adjustments to Q values were made (reward-based adjustment), whereas negative adjustments (penalty-based adjustment) were applied for OOD data, which replaced some OOD data punishment within large Q-ensembles, reducing their size without compromising performance. For different tasks on the D4RL benchmark datasets, we selectively use one of its methods. Experimental results demonstrated that employing reward-based adjustment improved algorithm performance. Simultaneously, utilizing penalty-based adjustment reduced Q-ensemble size without compromising performance. In comparison to LB-SAC, this approach reduced average convergence time by 38% for datasets utilizing penalty-based adjustment, thanks to the introduction of a simpler binary classification network and a reduced number of Q networks. The nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like-receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is a cytosolic multi-subunit protein complex, and recent studies have demonstrated the vital role of the NLRP3 inflammasome in the pathological and physiological conditions, which cleaves gasdermin D to induce inflammatory cell death called pyroptosis and mediates the release of interleukin-1 beta and interleukin-18 in response to microbial infection or cellular injury. Over-activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome is associated with the pathogenesis of many disorders affecting bone and joints, including gouty arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and periodontitis. Moreover, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been discovered to facilitate the inhibition of NLRP3 and maybe ideal for treating bone and joint diseases. In this review, we implicate the structure and activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome along with the detail on the involvement of NLRP3 inflammasome in bone and joint diseases pathology. In addition, we focused on MSCs and MSC-extracellular vesicles targeting NLRP3 inflammasomes in bone and joint diseases. Finally, the existing problems and future direction are also discussed. It is highly desirable to design efficient and stable hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution/reduction reaction (OER/ORR) electrocatalysts for the development of renewable energy technologies. Herein, density functional theory (DFT) calculations were conducted to systematically investigate a series of TMNxO4−x-HTT (TM = Fe, Co, Ni, Ru, Rh, Pd, Ir and Pt; HTT = hexahydroxy tetraazanaphthotetraphene) analogs of two-dimensional (2D) conductive metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as potential electrocatalysts for the HER, OER and ORR. The thermodynamic and electrochemical stability simulations suggest that these designed catalysts are stable. Remarkably, CoO4-HTT, RhN3O1-HTT and IrN3O1-HTT are predicted to be the most promising catalysts for the HER, OER and ORR, respectively, surpassing the catalytic activity of corresponding benchmark catalysts. The volcano plots were established based on the scaling relationship of adsorption Gibbs free energy of intermediates. The results reveal that regulating combinations of metal active centers and local coordination environments could effectively balance the interaction strength between intermediates and catalysts, thus achieving optimal catalytic activity. Authorities in China have been actively involved in the high-quality development of libraries, with an emphasis on supporting and extending National Reading. Providing appropriate and successful reading services requires well-prepared reading service librarians, empowered to design and deliver services that make reading enjoyable and accessible for all. Based on competency theory and empowerment theory, this study analyses the competency features of empowered reading service librarians and constructs a competency model based on those features. Through literature analysis and Behavioural Event Interview, a preliminary competency model comprising 16 discriminative competencies and 20 benchmark competencies was constructed, subsequently refined through 4 rounds of expert consultation using the Delphi method and resulting in a model with 11 discriminative competency features and 6 benchmark competency features. A questionnaire survey of reading service librarians and library users was undertaken to extract common factors and develop an iceberg model. The iceberg model comprises 4 dimensions: knowledge, skills, self-concept, and motivation, with 11 discriminative competency traits and 6 benchmark competency traits. The model extends our understanding of the important competencies underpinning the work of reading service librarians and can support developments in their professional education, performance evaluation, recruitment, and selection. Aiming at the current distributed array subarray optimization design and DOA estimation problem, a robust and effective distributed array subarray optimization method is proposed, and a discrete quantum electromagnetic field optimization algorithm is designed to quickly solve the resulting objective function to obtain the optimal subarray structure. Then, based on this array structure, the infinite-norm exponential kernel maximum likelihood method is utilized for direction of arrival (DOA) estimation. The simulation results show that the proposed method can still be effective in the case of impulsive noise, small snapshots, and low signal-to-noise ratio, which further verifies that the proposed method can obtain a better subarray layout and superior DOA estimates. Siliceous diatoms are one of the most prominent actors in the oceans, and they account for approximately 40% of the primary production and particulate organic carbon export flux. It is believed that changes in carbon flux caused by variations in diatom distribution can lead to significant climate shifts. Although the fundamental pathways of diatom-driven carbon sequestration have long been established, there are no reports of CaCO3 precipitation induced by marine diatom species. This manuscript introduces novel details regarding the enhancement of aragonite precipitation during photosynthesis in Skeletonema costatum in both artificial and natural seawater. Through direct measurements of cell surfaces via a pH microelectrode and zeta potential analyzer, it was determined that the diatom-mediated promotion of CaCO3 precipitation is achieved through the creation of specific microenvironments with concentrated [CO32−] and [Ca2+] and/or the dehydrating effect of adsorbed Ca2+. Based on this mechanism, it is highly plausible that diatom-mediated calcification could occur in the oceans, an assertion that was supported by the significant deviation of total alkalinity (TA) from the conservative TA-salinity mixing line during a Skeletonema costatum bloom in the East China Sea and other similar occurrences. The newly discovered calcification pathway establishes a link between particulate inorganic and organic carbon flux and thus helps in the reassessment of marine carbon export fluxes and CO2 sequestration efficiency. With the rapid development of urbanization level, the continuous expansion of urban areas and unreasonable planning have taken place in the underlying surface of the city. River and lake water systems, wetlands and green land have been occupied, and the impervious area has increased, which has destroyed the hydrological cycle of the city, leading to a series of urban water problems. The construction of a sponge city is an important measure for similar problems. Aquatic plants are the most important part of water ecological restoration technology. Their developed roots can absorb nutrients in the water. Moreover, using aquatic plants as the main body of water for ecological restoration can not only control the eutrophication of water, but also have a good landscape effect, and will not cause secondary pollution. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to explore the problem of improving the sponge city environment by aquatic plants based on ecological restoration theory and analyze the problems and solutions in the process of sponge city environmental protection construction. In this paper, the research method of specific analysis was used to compare the data to achieve a conclusion. The results showed that the development mode of sponge construction in practical cities will effectively reduce surface runoff by 15% and rainfall and flood by 21%. It can also solve the problems of urban waterlogging, water ecosystem restoration and heat island effect mitigation. Therefore, it was of great significance to study the ecological mode of rainwater utilization in the construction of a sponge city, analyze the collection ways and different application modes, to relieve the pressure of urban water resources and promote the efficient and comprehensive utilization of water resources in China. BACKGROUND: The pea leafminer, Liriomyza huidobrensis, is one of the most important insect pests on vegetables and ornamentals. The survival and egg‐laying behavior of leafminers are markedly affected by the environment temperature. However, the mechanisms underlying the relationship between egg‐laying and temperature are still largely unknown. RESULTS: Here, we find that leafminers have evolved an adaptive strategy to overcome the stress from high or low temperature by regulating oviposition‐punching plasticity. We further show that this oviposition‐punching plasticity is mediated by the expression of pyx in the ovipositor when subjected to disadvantageous temperature. Specifically, down‐regulation of pyx expression in leafminers under low temperature stress led to a significant decrease in the swing numbers of ovipositor and puncture area of the egg spot, and consequently the lower amount of egg‐laying compared to leafminers at ambient temperature. Conversely, activation of pyx expression under high temperature stress increased the swing numbers and puncture area, still resulting in a reduction of egg‐laying amount. CONCLUSION: Thereby, leafminers are able to coordinate pyx channel expression level and accordingly depress the oviposition. In this work, an approximate solution is given to compute the gas emissivities and absorptivities for H2O–CO2–CO mixtures. The proposed model is valid for temperatures from 300 to 2700 K and pressure path‐length (PxL) $({P}_{x}L)$ from 0.06 to 40 atm m. In the calculation of the analytical solution (AS), the nonlinear methods of Galerkin and Ritz were implemented based on the residual solution of the differential roots of the Finite Element Method. For each point value (PxL;T) $({P}_{x}L;T)$ using the AS, the spectral absorptivity aλ ${a}_{\lambda }$ and emissivity ελ ${\varepsilon }_{\lambda }$ were determined, while for the gas mixture the emissivity εm ${\varepsilon }_{m}$ and absorptivity am ${a}_{m}$ were computed using the Hottel Graphical Method (HGM) and the proposed method. In the emissivity calculations, the HGM shows less adjustment, with values of ±20% and ±15% for 79.1% and 56.2% of the available analytical data, while the proposed model correlates adequately with the available data, showing an average deviation of ±15% and ±10% for 91.4% and 76.2% of the available data. In the absorptivity estimations, the HGM shows a weaker fit, with values of ±20% and ±15% for 77.3% and 51.4% of the experimental data, respectively, while the proposed model shows good agreement with the available data, with a mean deviation of ±15% and ±10% for 89.8% and 74.1% of the test made. We construct a quasi-conservative alternative WENO finite difference scheme respectively coupled with the global Lax-Friedrichs (AWENO-GLF) and the contact restored Harten-Lax-van Leer approximate Riemann solver (AWENO-HLLC) for solving compressible multicomponent flows. The mass equation, the momentum equation, and the energy equation are discretized by a fully conservative AWENO-GLF or AWENO-HLLC finite difference scheme from which a consistent nonconservative discretization of the topological equation is derived according to the velocity and pressure equilibrium principle proposed by Agrall (J Comput Phys 125:150–160, 1996). We prove that, coupling with the constructed scheme, WENO interpolations with common weights for conservative variables or standard WENO interpolations with independent weights for primitive quantities can maintain velocity and pressure equilibrium. Numerical examples demonstrate that AWENO-HLLC scheme is not only less dissipative but also less oscillatory than classical WENO-GLF scheme for compressible multicomponent flows. Summary: Climate warming poses a significant threat to global crop production and food security. However, our understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing thermoresponsive development in crops remains limited.Here we report that the auxiliary subunit of N‐terminal acetyltransferase A (NatA) in rice OsNAA15 is a prerequisite for rice thermoresponsive growth. OsNAA15 produces two isoforms OsNAA15.1 and OsNAA15.2, via temperature‐dependent alternative splicing. Among the two, OsNAA15.1 is more likely to form a stable and functional NatA complex with the potential catalytic subunit OsNAA10, leading to a thermoresponsive N‐terminal acetylome. Intriguingly, while OsNAA15.1 promotes plant growth under elevated temperatures, OsNAA15.2 exhibits an inhibitory effect.We identified two glycolate oxidases (GLO1/5) as major substrates from the thermoresponsive acetylome. These enzymes are involved in hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) biosynthesis via glycolate oxidation. N‐terminally acetylated GLO1/5 undergo their degradation through the ubiquitin‐proteasome system. This leads to reduced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, thereby promoting plant growth, particularly under high ambient temperatures.Conclusively, our findings highlight the pivotal role of N‐terminal acetylation in orchestrating the glycolate‐mediated ROS homeostasis to facilitate thermoresponsive growth in rice. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of continuous control cuff pressure (CCCP) versus intermittent control cuff pressure (ICCP) for the prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) in critically ill patients. Methods: Relevant literature was searched in several databases, including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, ProQuest, the Cochrane Library, Wanfang Database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure between inception and September 2022. Randomized controlled trials were considered eligible if they compared CCCP with ICCP for the prevention of VAP in critically ill patients. This meta-analysis was performed using the RevMan 5.3 and Trial Sequential Analysis 0.9 software packages. The Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) framework was used to assess the level of evidence. Results: We identified 14 randomized control trials with a total of 2080 patients. Meta-analysis revealed that CCCP was associated with a significantly lower incidence of VAP compared with ICCP (relative risk [RR] = 0.52; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.37-0.74; P < 0.001), although considerable heterogeneity was observed (I 2 = 71%). Conducting trial sequential analysis confirmed the finding, and the GRADE level was moderate. Subgroup analysis demonstrated that CCCP combined with subglottic secretion drainage (SSD) had a more significant effect on reducing VAP (RR = 0.39; 95% CI = 0.29-0.52; P < 0.001). The effect of CCCP on ventilator-associated respiratory infection (VARI) incidence was uncertain (RR = 0.81; 95% CI = 0.53-1.24; P = 0.34; I 2 = 61%). Additionally, CCCP significantly reduced the duration of mechanical ventilation (MV) (mean difference [MD] = −2.42 days; 95% CI = −4.71-0.12; P = 0.04; I 2 = 87%). Descriptive analysis showed that CCCP improved the qualified rate of cuff pressure. However, no significant differences were found in the length of intensive care unit (ICU) stay (MD = 2.42 days; 95% CI = −1.84-6.68; P = 0.27) and ICU mortality (RR = 0.86; 95% CI = 0.74-1.00; P = 0.05). Conclusion: Our findings suggest that the combination of CCCP and SSD can reduce the incidence of VAP and the duration of MV and maintain the stability of cuff pressure.
