Biochar is widely used to maintain crop yields and the sustainability of agroecosystems due to its characteristics. However, its effect on vegetable yield and quality in southern acidic soils has not been fully elucidated. The effects of two kinds of biochar application rates (3 t ha−1 and 12 t ha−1) on the nutrient availability, nutrient absorption, yield, and fruit quality of sandy acid oxide soil in South China were studied in a 2-year field experiment using two varieties of wax gourd (Tiezhu No. 2 and Dadao). The results showed that optimized fertilization (OPT, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium were reduced by 20.0%, 20.6%, and 21.1%, respectively) did not reduce the yield of the different varieties of wax gourd compared to FP (farmer practice). On the basis of the OPT treatment, the application of biochar increased the yield of Tiezhu No. 2 and Dadao wax gourd by 16.0–27.3% and 7.7–13.3%, respectively. The increase in yield was attributed to the improvement in soil organic carbon content which increased by 4.5–19.7%, nutrient effectiveness (NO3−-N and Olsen-P content enhanced by 23.7–27.0% and 15.3–23.4% in Tiezhu No. 2), and nutrient uptake (N, P, K, Ca, and Mg accumulation increased significantly by 21.1%, 46.1%, 36.8%, 25.7%, and 31.9%, respectively) by the plant after the biochar application. Different types of biochar also have some differences in these three aspects. Specifically, under the same dosage, rice biochar has a more significant effect on increasing the yield of winter melon, and has a better effect on the improvement of soil physical and chemical properties, while sawdust biochar has a more significant effect on nutrient absorption. In addition, the commercial quality, namely hardness and glossiness, and the nutritional quality, namely soluble sugar, soluble protein, VC content, and sugar–acid ratio of wax gourd fruits, were significantly improved after the biochar application. In summary, biochar application on acidic soils in South China could achieve a win–win situation in terms of increasing soil nutrient effectiveness to improve vegetable yield and quality while reducing chemical fertilizer. Enhancing crop water productivity is crucial for regional water resource management and agricultural sustainability, particularly in arid regions. However, evaluating the spatial heterogeneity and temporal dynamics of crop water productivity in face of data limitations poses a challenge. In this study, we propose a framework that integrates remote sensing data, time series generative adversarial network (TimeGAN), dynamic Bayesian network (DBN), and optimization model to assess crop water productivity and optimize crop planting structure under limited water resources allocation in the Qira oasis. The results demonstrate that the combination of TimeGAN and DBN better improves the accuracy of the model for the dynamic prediction, particularly for short-term predictions with 4 years as the optimal timescale (R2 > 0.8). Based on the spatial distribution of crop suitability analysis, wheat and corn are most suitable for cultivation in the central and eastern parts of Qira oasis while cotton is unsuitable for planting in the western region. The walnuts and Chinese dates are mainly unsuitable in the southeastern part of the oasis. Maximizing crop water productivity while ensuring food security has led to increased acreage for cotton, Chinese dates and walnuts. Under the combined action of the five optimization objectives, the average increase of crop water productivity is 14.97%, and the average increase of ecological benefit is 3.61%, which is much higher than the growth rate of irrigation water consumption of cultivated land. It will produce a planting structure that relatively reduced irrigation water requirement of cultivated land and improved crop water productivity. Background: Hydrogen gas (H2), a novel and beneficial gaseous molecule, plays a significant role in plant growth and development processes. Hydrogen-rich water (HRW) is regarded as a safe and easily available way to study the physiological effects of H2 on plants. Several recent research has shown that HRW attenuates stress-induced seed germination inhibition; however, the underlying modes of HRW on seed germination remain obscure under non-stress condition. Results: In this current study, we investigated the possible roles of gibberellin (GA) and abscisic acid (ABA) in HRW-regulated seed germination in wax gourd (Benincasa hispida) through pharmacological, physiological, and transcriptome approaches. The results showed that HRW application at an optimal dose (50% HRW) significantly promoted seed germination and shortened the average germination time (AGT). Subsequent results suggested that 50% HRW treatment stimulated GA production by regulating GA biosynthesis genes (BhiGA3ox, BhiGA2ox, and BhiKAO), whereas it had no effect on the content of ABA and the expression of its biosynthesis (BhiNCED6) and catabolism genes (BhiCYP707A2) but decreased the expression of ABA receptor gene (BhiPYL). In addition, inhibition of GA production by paclobutrazol (PAC) could block the HRW-mediated germination. Treatment with ABA could hinder HRW-mediated seed germination and the ABA biosynthesis inhibitor sodium tungstate (ST) could recover the function of HRW. Furthermore, RNA-seq analysis revealed that, in the presence of GA or ABA, an abundance of genes involved in GA, ABA, and ethylene signal sensing and transduction might involve in HRW-regulated germination. Conclusions: This study portrays insights into the mechanism of HRW-mediated seed germination, suggesting that HRW can regulate the balance between GA and ABA to mediate seed germination through ethylene signals in wax gourd. Crop cultivars have an influence on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and there is variation between varieties. However, there are few reports available on the differences in GHG emissions and their driving factors among vegetable varieties. In this study, we conducted a field experiment to examine the variances in GHG emissions and their contributing factors among eight flowering Chinese cabbage varieties (considering growth period, leaf shape, and colour). The results showed significant differences in GHG emissions within varieties; early-maturing varieties exhibited GHG by 25.6% and 15.3%, respectively, when compared to mid- and late-maturing varieties. Among the different leaf types and color classifications, light-colored and sharp-leafed varieties had the lower global warming potential (GWP) overall. Cumulative CO2 emissions were influenced by leaf SPAD values and biomass, while cumulative N2O emissions were driven mainly by stem thickness, carbon accumulation, leaf SPAD values, and biomass. In summary, the selection of light-colored varieties with pointed leaves and shorter growth periods in actual production contributed positively to the reduction of carbon emissions from flowering Chinese cabbage production. In this study, the resistive memory devices with Ag/TiOxNy/Pt structure and Ag/TiOxNy/Ga2O3/Pt structure are fabricated. The results showed that they exhibit typical resistive behaviors as well as excellent cycling and retention characteristics (>104 s). Especially, the double-layer device with Ga2O3 layer exhibits superior resistive behavior, which has a larger storage window (ON/OFF ratio >105), a smaller set voltage (0.17 V) and a reset voltage (−0.057 V), and lower power consumption (21.7, 0.17 μW) compared with the single-layer device. Furthermore, the Ag/TiOxNy/Ga2O3/Pt device demonstrates ultraviolet light (UV-365 nm)-dependent resistance state (RS), which is advantageous for multilevel memory cells. As the intensity of UV light increases, eight high resistance state (HRS) levels are produced. Finally, the conductive mechanism for both device structures is discussed, and it is found that the conductive filaments mechanism dominates in the low resistance state. However, for the HRS, the single-layer TiOxNy device is dominated by the space charge-limited conduction mechanism, and the double-layer TiOxNy/Ga2O3 device is dominated by the Schottky emission mechanism. Background: Aspergillus niger ATCC 20611 is an industrially important fructooligosaccharides (FOS) producer since it produces the β-fructofuranosidase with superior transglycosylation activity, which is responsible for the conversion of sucrose to FOS accompanied by the by-product (glucose) generation. This study aims to consume glucose to enhance the content of FOS by heterologously expressing glucose oxidase and peroxidase in engineered A. niger. Results: Glucose oxidase was successfully expressed and co-localized with β-fructofuranosidase in mycelia. These mycelia were applied to synthesis of FOS, which possessed an increased purity of 60.63% from 52.07%. Furthermore, peroxidase was expressed in A. niger and reached 7.70 U/g, which could remove the potential inhibitor of glucose oxidase to facilitate the FOS synthesis. Finally, the glucose oxidase-expressing strain and the peroxidase-expressing strain were jointly used to synthesize FOS, which content achieved 71.00%. Conclusions: This strategy allows for obtaining high-content FOS by the multiple enzymes expressed in the industrial fungus, avoiding additional purification processes used in the production of oligosaccharides. Sulfur (S) is one of the main components of important biomolecules, which has been paid more attention in the anaerobic environment of rice cultivation. In this study, 12 accessions of rice materials, belonging to two Asian rice domestication systems and one African rice domestication system, were used by shotgun metagenomics sequencing to compare the structure and function involved in S cycle of rhizosphere microbiome between wild and cultivated rice. The sulfur cycle functional genes abundances were significantly different between wild and cultivated rice rhizosphere in the processes of sulfate reduction and other sulfur compounds conversion, implicating that wild rice had a stronger mutually-beneficial relationship with rhizosphere microbiome, enhancing sulfur utilization. To assess the effects of sulfate reduction synthetic microbiomes, Comamonadaceae and Rhodospirillaceae, two families containing the genes of two key steps in the dissimilatory sulfate reduction, aprA and dsrA respectively, were isolated from wild rice rhizosphere. Compared with the control group, the dissimilatory sulfate reduction in cultivated rice rhizosphere was significantly improved in the inoculated with different proportions groups. It confirmed that the synthetic microbiome can promote the S-cycling in rice, and suggested that may be feasible to construct the synthetic microbiome step by step based on functional genes to achieve the target functional pathway. In summary, this study reveals the response of rice rhizosphere microbial community structure and function to domestication, and provides a new idea for the construction of synthetic microbiome. With the vigorous development of biotechnology, genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have become more and more common. In order to effectively supervise and administrate them, the rapid and accurate detection of GMOs is urgently demanded. Here, GMO gene-specific sensing methods based on colorimetry and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) were proposed based on the lateral branch cleavage function of the CRISPR/Cas12a system. Two transgenes, pCaMV35S and M810 Cry1Ab, were chosen as targets for transgenic crops. By using these methods, we performed transgenic detection on five types of maize leaves and successfully distinguished transgenic from non-transgenic samples. The colorimetric method is rapid, economical and available for field detection. The SERS approach, giving a higher sensitivity to 100 fM, is more suitable for laboratory application scenarios. Solar‐blind ultraviolet (UV) photodetectors based on p‐organic/n‐Ga2O3 hybrid heterojunctions have attracted extensive attention recently. Herein, the multifunctional solar‐blind photodetector based on p‐type poly[N‐9′‐heptadecanyl‐2,7‐carbazole‐alt‐5,5‐(4′,7′‐di‐2‐thienyl‐2′,1′,3′‐benzothiadiazole)] (PCDTBT)/n‐type amorphous Ga2O3 (a‐Ga2O3) is fabricated and investigated, which can work in the phototransistor mode coupling with self‐powered mode. With the introduction of PCDTBT, the dark current of such the a‐Ga2O3‐based photodetector is decreased to 0.48 pA. Meanwhile, the photoresponse parameters of the a‐Ga2O3‐based photodetector in the phototransistor mode to solar‐blind UV light are further increased, that is, responsivity (R), photo‐detectivity (D*), and external quantum efficiency (EQE) enhanced to 187 A W–1, 1.3 × 1016 Jones and 9.1 × 104 % under the weak light intensity of 11 μW cm–2, respectively. Thanks to the formation of the built‐in field in the p‐PCDTBT/n‐Ga2O3 type‐II heterojunction, the PCDTBT/Ga2O3 multifunctional photodetector shows self‐powered behavior. The responsivity of p‐PCDTBT/n‐Ga2O3 multifunctional photodetector is 57.5 mA W–1 at zero bias. Soil amendments may enhance crop yield and quality by increasing soil nutrient levels and improving nutrient absorption efficiency, potentially through beneficial microbial interactions. In this work, the effects of amending soil with straw-based carbon substrate (SCS), a novel biochar material, on soil nutrients, soil microbial communities, and maize yield were compared with those of soil amendment with conventional straw. The diversity and abundance of soil bacterial and fungal communities were significantly influenced by both the maize growth period and the treatment used. Regression analysis of microbial community variation indicated that Rhizobiales, Saccharimonadales, and Eurotiales were the bacterial and fungal taxa that exhibited a positive response to SCS amendment during the growth stages of maize. Members of these taxa break down organic matter to release nutrients that promote plant growth and yield. In the seedling and vegetative stages of maize growth, the abundance of Rhizobiales is positively correlated with the total nitrogen (TN) content in the soil. During the tasseling and physiological maturity stages of corn, the abundance of Saccharimonadales and Eurotiales is positively correlated with the content of total carbon (TC), total phosphorus (TP), and available phosphorus (AP) in the soil. The results suggest that specific beneficial microorganisms are recruited at different stages of maize growth to supply the nutrients required at each stage. This targeted recruitment strategy optimizes the availability of nutrients to plants and ultimately leads to higher yields. The identification of these key beneficial microorganisms may provide a theoretical basis for the targeted improvement of crop yield and soil quality. This study demonstrates that SCS amendment enhances soil nutrient content and crop yield compared with conventional straw incorporation and sheds light on the response of soil microorganisms to SCS amendment, providing valuable insights for the future implementation of this material. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate how changes in substrate availability (stimulating root exudate input) affect the temperature response (Q10) of soil organic carbon (SOC) mineralization across different soil profiles to increase our ability to predict the response of soil organic matter dynamics to climate change. Materials and methods: We sampled the topsoil and subsoil of two typical mineral soil profiles and one buried soil profile. Soils were incubated at 10–25 °C at 0.75 °C intervals, SOC mineralization rates were continuously measured with and without glucose addition, and Q10 was calculated. Results and discussion: Our results showed that Q10 decreased with increasing depth in typical mineral soils, but decreased before increasing with depth in buried soil. As expected, substrate addition significantly increased Q10 across soil depths; however, the magnitude of this increase (ΔQ10) differed with soil depth and type. Unexpectedly, in typical mineral soils, ΔQ10 was higher in topsoil than in subsoils, and vice versa for buried soil. ΔQ10 was negatively correlated with initial soil substrate availability (CAI) and positively correlated with soil inorganic N. Conclusions: Overall, our results suggested that increased substrate availability under climate change scenarios (i.e., increased root exudates with elevated CO2 concentrations) could further strengthen the temperature response of SOC mineralization, especially in soils with high inorganic N content or regions with high N deposition rates. Understanding plant water consumption is crucial for artificial afforestation under drought environments and water stress in desert regions. However, the water consumption characteristics of desert species responding to the irrigation regimes are often neglected. By conducting a field test in the Taklimakan Desert Highway shelterbelt, this study examines the sap flow traits of two typical woody halophyte species (C alligonum mongolicum and Haloxylon ammodendron) and how they react to weather conditions and watering practices. Under the same irrigation treatment, the stem flux of C. mongolicum on sunny days was 1.5–5.3 times that on dusty days, while the stem flux of H. ammodendron on sunny days was 3.5–5.5 times that on dusty days. Both species demonstrated some sap flow during the night, representing 14.3%–24.9% and 7.3%–10.4% of the total sap flow for C. mongolicum and H. ammodendron , respectively. H. ammodendron maintained a higher stem flow during daytime and was more drought resistant than C. mongolicum. The daily sap flow patterns of these two species varied, showing both 'single' and 'double peak' curves depending on the watering conditions. A delay was also observed between the sap flow of these two species and the environmental factors. The factors influencing plant sap flow were found to be in the order of solar radiation, temperature, relative humidity, and saturated water vapor pressure difference. A BP-neural network proved highly effective for accurately simulating the sap flow of these two species. This research provides insights into how two common desert tree species adapt their water use in response to drought conditions, which is vital for artificial forest creation in desert areas. In recent years, implicit sentiment analysis, which aims to detect sentiment of a sentence that don't contain obvious sentiment words, has become an attractive research topic. This paper focuses on event-centric implicit sentiment analysis, which utilizes the sentiment-aware event to infer the sentiment polarity of the sentence. Existing event-based implicit sentiment analysis methods typically treat entities or noun phrases in the text as events, or model contextual information to indirectly infer events using sophisticated models, but these methods fail to fully capture event information. To address these issues, this paper defines events as . Based on this event representation, neural tensor network was used to model the interaction between event elements and extract high-level semantic features of events. In addition, a novel affective enhanced graph model was proposed to capture sentiment-related dependencies between context words. Furthermore, this paper considers the case where a sentence contains multiple events, and constructs an event-centric implicit sentiment analysis dataset, where each sentence contains at least one event triplet. In this study, the leaching kinetics of magnesium of boron mud (BM) is evaluated using NH4HSO4 solution. The effects of leaching temperature, leaching time, ammonium bisulphate solution concentration and liquid–solid ratio on the extraction ratio of magnesium are investigated. Optimum leaching parameters are determined through an orthogonal test based on single factor experiments. Under the optimum leaching temperature (333 K), leaching time (40 min), NH4HSO4 concentration (2.8 mol · L−1), and liquid–solid ratio (9:1 mL · g−1), the extraction ratio of magnesium was 76.73%. In addition, the leaching kinetics data of magnesium from BM are analyzed through graphical and statistical approaches, which reveal that the leaching process conforms to the grain model. Biochar and magnesium (Mg) fertilizers have gained increasing attention in agriculture for their potential benefits. However, their combined effects on vegetable growth in southern acidic soils have not been fully elucidated. To address this issue, a study was conducted with six treatments all of which included a baseline amount of compound fertilizer (CK), an increased amount of compound fertilizer (F), Mg fertilizer (M), biochar (BC), biochar combined with Mg (BCM) and an increased amount of compound F with Mg (FM), to investigate their synergistic effects on soil physicochemical properties, enzyme activity, microorganisms and cabbage yield. The results of the study showed that compared with CK, the M, BC and BCM treatments all increased soil organic matter (SOM), exchangeable magnesium (Ex‐Mg), acid phosphatase (ACP) and yield, while the F treatment led to a 5% decrease in SOM. The BCM treatment significantly increased SOM, Ex‐Mg, ACP by 14%, 40%, and 25%, respectively. The most abundant phyla in BCM processing were Proteobacteria (21%), Chloroflexi (19%) and Actinomycetes (17%); the most abundant genera were Bacillus (8%). Further, the effect of BCM on crop growth promotion was better than that of FM, and the economic analysis showed that compared with FM, the benefit of BCM increased by 14%. Through structural equation modelling analysis, the synergistic increase in yield was because of the increase in soil TP, Ex‐Mg, NO3−–N and β‐GC caused by BCM, improving soil nutrients and microbial communities, thereby promoting cabbage growth. Therefore, the combined application of biochar and Mg in acidic soil could significantly improve soil fertility and crop productivity, while also reducing the need for costly chemical fertilizers, thereby offering a promising and cost‐effective approach for sustainable agriculture. Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have exhibited tremendous potential in photovoltaic fields owing to their appreciable performance and simple fabrication. Nevertheless, device performances are still required to be further improved before commercial applications. As one‐dimensional materials, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been utilized to regulate stability and efficiency of PSCs because of their excellent chemical stability, flexibility, as well as tunable optical and electrical characteristics. In this review, we comprehensively summarize various functions of CNTs in PSCs, such as transparent electrodes, hole/electron‐transport layers, counter electrodes, perovskite additives, and interlayers. Additionally, applications of CNTs toward the advancement of flexible and semitransparent PSCs are provided. The chemical bonding between polymer and perovskite could increase the growth activation energy of perovskite film and promote the preferential growth of high‐quality perovskite film. Owing to the low defect density and gradient energy‐level alignment, the corresponding device exhibited a champion efficiency of 23.10 %. Furthermore, due to the formation of the hydrogen‐bonded polymer network in the perovskite film, the target devices demonstrated excellent air stability and enhanced flexibility for the flexible PSCs. More importantly, the polymer network could coordinate with Pb2+ ions, immobilizing lead atoms to reduce their release into the environment. High-quality perovskite films are crucial to realizing high-efficiency stable perovskite solar cells. Doping is a direct and effective strategy to passivate defects and improve the crystal quality of perovskite films. Herein, we introduce pseudohalide-based ionic liquid TEAPF6 into perovskite films as an excellent additive. TEAPF6 doping has multiple effects: the PF6− anion could fill the halide vacancies, which helps to suppress ion migration through vacancies. The highly electronegative PF6− could bind with uncoordinated Pb2+ and organic cations to passivate defects. TEAPF6 doping improved the crystal quality and suppressed the charge recombination in perovskite films. More importantly, the TEA+ with long alkyl groups and PF6− could enhance the hydrophobicity of the perovskite films. As a result, the device with TEAPF6 achieved a PCE of 22.13%. Moreover, TEAPF6 doping enhanced the stability of PSCs. This work demonstrates the excellent effect of pseudohalide-based ionic liquid doping on improving the crystal quality of perovskite films. Highlights: Convincing candidates of flexible (stretchable/compressible) electromagnetic interference shielding nanocomposites are discussed in detail from the views of fabrication, mechanical elasticity and shielding performance. Detailed summary of the relationship between deformation of materials and electromagnetic shielding performance. The future directions and challenges in developing flexible (particularly elastic) shielding nanocomposites are highlighted. With the extensive use of electronic communication technology in integrated circuit systems and wearable devices, electromagnetic interference (EMI) has increased dramatically. The shortcomings of conventional rigid EMI shielding materials include high brittleness, poor comfort, and unsuitability for conforming and deformable applications. Hitherto, flexible (particularly elastic) nanocomposites have attracted enormous interest due to their excellent deformability. However, the current flexible shielding nanocomposites present low mechanical stability and resilience, relatively poor EMI shielding performance, and limited multifunctionality. Herein, the advances in low-dimensional EMI shielding nanomaterials-based elastomers are outlined and a selection of the most remarkable examples is discussed. And the corresponding modification strategies and deformability performance are summarized. Finally, expectations for this quickly increasing sector are discussed, as well as future challenges. Compared with the single‐junction perovskite solar cells, the perovskite/perovskite tandem solar cells have the advantages of lower cost and higher power conversion efficiency (PCE). Herein, both two‐terminal (2‐T) and four‐terminal (4‐T) perovskite/perovskite tandem solar cells with all‐inorganic perovskite as the top cell absorption layer and narrow bandgap perovskite MASn0.5Pb0.5I3 material as the bottom cell absorption layer are studied. To effectively improve the photon absorption ratio and performance of the 4‐T tandem device, both reflection and parasitic absorption should be reduced. Afterward, by optimizing the doping concentration of the carrier transport layer, a 4‐T all‐perovskite tandem solar cell with a high PCE of 30.45% is obtained. For the 2‐T all‐perovskite tandem device, the all‐inorganic perovskites with different halogen components (CsPbI3−xBrx, 0 ≤ x ≤ 3) are used as the absorption layer of the top cell, respectively. Through the optimization of the current matching of the subcell, the photoelectric field distribution, the parasitic absorption of the device, etc., an optimal PCE of 27.86% is obtained based on 2‐T CsPbI2Br/MASn0.5Pb0.5I3 tandem device. SPX-domain proteins (small proteins with only the SPX domain) have been proven to be involved in phosphate-related signal transduction and regulation pathways. Except for OsSPX1 research showing that it plays a role in the process of rice adaptation to cold stress, the potential functions of other SPX genes in cold stress are unknown. Therefore, in this study, we identified six OsSPXs from the whole genome of DXWR. The phylogeny of OsSPXs has a strong correlation with its motif. Transcriptome data analysis showed that OsSPXs were highly sensitive to cold stress, and real-time PCR verified that the levels of OsSPX1, OsSPX2, OsSPX4, and OsSPX6 in cold-tolerant materials (DXWR) during cold treatment were higher than that of cold-sensitive rice (GZX49). The promoter region of DXWR OsSPXs contains a large number of cis-acting elements related to abiotic stress tolerance and plant hormone response. At the same time, these genes have expression patterns that are highly similar to cold-tolerance genes. Single‐wall carbon nanotube/silicon (SWCNT/Si) heterojunction shows appealing potential for use in photovoltaic devices. However, the relatively low conductivity of SWCNT network and interfacial recombination of carriers have limited their photovoltaic performance. Herein, a multifunctional Lewis acid (p‐toluenesulfonic acid, TsOH) is used to significantly reduce the energy loss in SWCNT/Si solar cells. Owing to the charge transfer doping effect of TsOH, the conductivity and work function of SWCNT films are optimized and tuned. More importantly, a chemical bridge is constructed at the interface of SWCNT/Si heterojunction. Experimental studies indicate that the phenyl group of TsOH can interact with SWCNTs through π–π interaction, meanwhile, the oxygen in the sulfonic functional group of the TsOH molecule can graft on the dangling bonds of the Si surface. The chemical bridge structure effectively suppresses the recombination of photogenerated carriers. The TsOH coating also works as an antireflection layer, leading to a 19% increment of the photocurrent. As a result, a champion power conversion efficiency of 17.7% is achieved for the TsOH‐SWCNT/Si device, and it also exhibits an excellent stability, retaining more than 96% of the initial efficiency in the ambient air after 1 month. The bias temperature instability (BTI) effect of p-GaN gate high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMTs) is a serious problem for reliability. To uncover the essential cause of this effect, in this paper, we precisely monitored the shifting process of the threshold voltage (VTH) of HEMTs under BTI stress by fast sweeping characterizations. The HEMTs without time-dependent gate breakdown (TDGB) stress featured a high VTH shift of 0.62 V. In contrast, the HEMT that underwent 424 s of TDGB stress clearly saw a limited VTH shift of 0.16 V. The mechanism is that the TDGB stress can induce a Schottky barrier lowering effect on the metal/p-GaN junction, thus boosting the hole injection from the gate metal to the p-GaN layer. This hole injection eventually improves the VTH stability by replenishing the holes lost under BTI stress. It is the first time that we experimentally proved that the BTI effect of p-GaN gate HEMTs was directly dominated by the gate Schottky barrier that impeded the hole supply to the p-GaN layer. The channel temperature distribution and breakdown points are difficult to monitor for the traditional p-GaN gate HEMTs under high power stress, because the metal gate blocks the light. To solve this problem, we processed p-GaN gate HEMTs with transparent indium tin oxide (ITO) as the gate terminal and successfully captured the information mentioned above, utilizing ultraviolet reflectivity thermal imaging equipment. The fabricated ITO-gated HEMTs exhibited a saturation drain current of 276 mA/mm and an on-resistance of 16.6 Ω·mm. During the test, the heat was found to concentrate in the vicinity of the gate field in the access area, under the stress of VGS = 6 V and VDS = 10/20/30 V. After 691 s high power stress, the device failed, and a hot spot appeared on the p-GaN. After failure, luminescence was observed on the sidewall of the p-GaN while positively biasing the gate, revealing the side wall is the weakest spot under high power stress. The findings of this study provide a powerful tool for reliability analysis and also point to a way for improving the reliability of the p-GaN gate HEMTs in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Filamentous fungi are extensively exploited as important enzyme producers due to the superior secretory capability. However, the complexity of their secretomes greatly impairs the titer and purity of heterologous enzymes. Meanwhile, high-efficient evaluation and production of bulk enzymes, such as biomass-degrading enzymes, necessitate constructing powerful expression systems for bio-refinery applications. Results: A novel sucrose-inducible expression system based on the host strain Aspergillus niger ATCC 20611 and the β-fructofuranosidase promoter (PfopA) was constructed. A. niger ATCC 20611 preferentially utilized sucrose for rapid growth and β-fructofuranosidase production. Its secretory background was relatively clean because β-fructofuranosidase, the key enzyme responsible for sucrose utilization, was essentially not secreted into the medium and the extracellular protease activity was low. Furthermore, the PfopA promoter showed a sucrose concentration-dependent induction pattern and was not subject to glucose repression. Moreover, the strength of PfopA was 7.68-fold higher than that of the commonly used glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase promoter (PgpdA) with enhanced green fluorescence protein (EGFP) as a reporter. Thus, A. niger ATCC 20611 coupled with the PfopA promoter was used as an expression system to express a β-glucosidase gene (bgla) from A. niger C112, allowing the production of β-glucosidase at a titer of 17.84 U/mL. The crude β-glucosidase preparation could remarkably improve glucose yield in the saccharification of pretreated corncob residues when added to the cellulase mixture of Trichoderma reesei QM9414. The efficacy of this expression system was further demonstrated by co-expressing the T. reesei-derived chitinase Chi46 and β-N-acetylglucosaminidase Nag1 to obtain an efficient chitin-degrading enzyme cocktail, which could achieve the production of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine from colloidal chitin with a conversion ratio of 91.83%. Besides, the purity of the above-secreted biomass-degrading enzymes in the crude culture supernatant was over 86%. Conclusions: This PfopA-driven expression system expands the genetic toolbox of A. niger and broadens the application field of the traditional fructo-oligosaccharides-producing strain A. niger ATCC 20611, advancing it to become a high-performing enzyme-producing cell factory. In particular, the sucrose-inducible expression system possessed the capacity to produce biomass-degrading enzymes at a high level and evade endogenous protein interference, providing a potential purification-free enzyme production platform for bio-refinery applications. Magnesium (Mg) is critical for agricultural production and human health. The wax gourd yield was greatly affected by Mg fertilizer and it serves as an excellent crop to study Mg functioning in sink growth; however, as a Cucurbitaceae plant which is called a raffinose family oligosaccharides (RFOs)-transporting plant, its adaptive mechanism of photoassimilates transportation and distribution to Mg nutrients remains unknown. Herein, we used two Mg treatments (+Mg 90 kg ha−1; CK as control 0 kg ha−1) to observe the effects of Mg on the photoassimilates status in the leaves, phloem sap and fruit of wax gourd grown across the entire growth stage under a field condition. For the first time, we confirmed that stachyose and raffinose, which accounted for 54.9–78.0% of the total carbohydrates across the whole growth phase in the phloem sap, were the most predominant sugars used for the long-distance transport of wax gourds. They were strongly increased by Mg application which started from the seedling stage to the end of growing season. This response was earlier and more dramatic than the over-accumulation of sucrose in leaves regardless of positions. Hexoses (glucose plus fructose) were the main soluble sugars in the source leaves as well as in the mesocarp tissues, and their responses to Mg varied with temporal and spatial differences. The difference in the sugar status in the leaves between the upper, middle and lower positions is closely related to the concentration of Mg ions. Compared with Mg deficiency (CK), Mg application stimulated sugar accumulation in the leaves at the seedling and flowering stages by 10.6–24.5%. On the contrary, after fruit set, Mg supplementation significantly reduced the soluble sugar concentration in leaves by 33.5–67.9%. Mg treatment also spiked the fructose and glucose in fruit at the fruit expansion stage by 26.7% and 16.4%, respectively. Taken together, our results showed that Mg tailors the carbohydrate status in the source (leaves), flow (phloem sap) and sink (mesocarp tissues) in wax gourds, especially during the fruit growth period. The lower stachyose in the phloem at the beginning of fruit setting may be an early indication of a curtailed sink process in wax gourds grown in Mg deficient soil. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Precocious leaf senescence can reduce crop yield and quality by limiting the growth stage. Melatonin has been shown to delay leaf senescence; however, the underlying mechanism remains obscure. Here, we show that melatonin offsets abscisic acid (ABA) to protect photosystem II and delay the senescence of attached old leaves under the light. Melatonin induced H2O2 accumulation accompanied by an upregulation of melon respiratory burst oxidase homolog D (CmRBOHD) under ABA‐induced stress. Both melatonin and H2O2 induced the accumulation of cytoplasmic‐free Ca2+ ([Ca2+]cyt) in response to ABA, while blocking of Ca2+ influx channels attenuated melatonin‐ and H2O2‐induced ABA tolerance. CmRBOHD overexpression induced [Ca2+]cyt accumulation and delayed leaf senescence, whereas deletion of Arabidopsis AtRBOHD, a homologous gene of CmRBOHD, compromised the melatonin‐induced [Ca2+]cyt accumulation and delay of leaf senescence in Arabidopsis under ABA stress. Furthermore, melatonin, H2O2 and Ca2+ attenuated ABA‐induced K+ efflux and subsequent cell death. CmRBOHD overexpression and AtRBOHD deletion alleviated and aggravated the ABA‐induced K+ efflux, respectively. Taken together, our study unveils a new mechanism by which melatonin offsets ABA action to delay leaf senescence via RBOHD‐dependent H2O2 production that triggers [Ca2+]cyt accumulation and subsequently inhibits K+ efflux and delays cell death/leaf senescence in response to ABA. β-Ga2O3/graphene heterostructure engineering has been regarded as an effective method to improve the optoelectronic performance of the β-Ga2O3 device. Here, hydrogenation/fluorination covalent functionalized graphene (HC/FC) was employed, and the synergistic effect of covalent functionalization and intrinsic electric field (Ein) was introduced to further improve and understand the interfacial properties of the heterostructure. Under the covalent functionalization, type-II band alignment with UV-infrared dual-band absorption was found for β-Ga2O3/HC heterostructure, while reserved type-II band alignment with hole doping was realized for p-type β-Ga2O3/FC heterostructure. Upon introducing the synergistic effect of covalent functionalization and Ein for β-Ga2O3/hydro-fluorinated graphene (HCF) heterostructure, except for the above similar characters, both the band offsets and optical absorption are further enhanced in β-Ga2O3/HCF heterostructures. When the direction of intrinsic Ein points to the contact interface, the Fermi level of β-Ga2O3/F-HCF was much closer to the valence band of β-Ga2O3. It was thought that the synergistic effect of covalent functionalization and Ein was more beneficial to promote the application of p-type β-Ga2O3. These findings were deeply revealed by the band levels, electrostatic potential, and charge transfer introduced. Our results were expected to provide useful insight into the synergistic effect of covalent functionalization and intrinsic Ein as well as to enhance the application potential of β-Ga2O3/graphene-based optoelectronic devices. Background: The assembly of the rhizomicrobiome, i.e., the microbiome in the soil adhering to the root, is influenced by soil conditions. Here, we investigated the core rhizomicrobiome of a wild plant species transplanted to an identical soil type with small differences in chemical factors and the impact of these soil chemistry differences on the core microbiome after long-term cultivation. We sampled three natural reserve populations of wild rice (i.e., in situ) and three populations of transplanted in situ wild rice grown ex situ for more than 40 years to determine the core wild rice rhizomicrobiome. Results: Generalized joint attribute modeling (GJAM) identified a total of 44 amplicon sequence variants (ASVs) composing the core wild rice rhizomicrobiome, including 35 bacterial ASVs belonging to the phyla Actinobacteria, Chloroflexi, Firmicutes, and Nitrospirae and 9 fungal ASVs belonging to the phyla Ascomycota, Basidiomycota, and Rozellomycota. Nine core bacterial ASVs belonging to the genera Haliangium, Anaeromyxobacter, Bradyrhizobium, and Bacillus were more abundant in the rhizosphere of ex situ wild rice than in the rhizosphere of in situ wild rice. The main ecological functions of the core microbiome were nitrogen fixation, manganese oxidation, aerobic chemoheterotrophy, chemoheterotrophy, and iron respiration, suggesting roles of the core rhizomicrobiome in improving nutrient resource acquisition for rice growth. The function of the core rhizosphere bacterial community was significantly (p < 0.05) shaped by electrical conductivity, total nitrogen, and available phosphorus present in the soil adhering to the roots. Conclusion: We discovered that nitrogen, manganese, iron, and carbon resource acquisition are potential functions of the core rhizomicrobiome of the wild rice Oryza rufipogon. Ga2O3 is attractive for power devices and solar-blind ultraviolet photodetectors due to its ultra-wide bandgap, large breakdown field, and favorable stability. However, it is difficult to prepare the ideal Ga2O3 since there are plenty of defects (e.g., vacancies and interstitial atoms) in the bulk and films which can affect the physical properties of Ga2O3. Besides, the deep level defects act as trapped centers and have influence on the sensitivity and responsivity of optoelectronic devices. It has been discovered that doping is an effective strategy to modulate the properties of Ga2O3. In this review, the effects of defects and impurities on the material properties of Ga2O3 are mainly discussed. Considering that β-Ga2O3 is the most stable and the most studied currently, it is the main focus of this review. Firstly, the intrinsic properties (e.g., electronic, absorption, thermal and mechanical properties) of β-Ga2O3 are introduced, and then the influence of impurities (e.g., dopants and passivators) and defects on the electronic properties of β-Ga2O3 is discussed emphatically. Besides, the other properties (e.g., luminescence, magnetic, and piezoelectric properties) of β-Ga2O3 modulated by defects and impurities are also briefly discussed. The oasis-desert ecotone as a transitional zone is sensitive and vulnerable to hydro-climatic changes and anthropogenic activities in maintaining oasis stability and combating desertification. The normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) is an important indicator for evaluating the desert vegetation restoration status. However, it is difficult to quantify individual and interactive impacts of hydro-climatic changes and anthropogenic activities on NDVI in the oasis-desert ecotone. This paper introduces the hydro-climate elasticity and geographical detector approach to assess the influences of hydro-climate changes and human activities on NDVI in Qira oasis-desert ecotone, Northwest China during 2000–2019. Results show that the climatic elasticities of NDVI reflect that the NDVI is more sensitive to precipitation (0.318) than to temperature (0.290), while the NDVI becomes more sensitive to variation in soil moisture content (0.219) than that in the groundwater table (0.150) in hydrological elasticities. The land-use change caused by human activities results in a decrease of NDVI, accounting for 90% of NDVI reduction. The human activities indicate the strongest influence on NDVI. The nonparametric elasticity estimator proposed is illustrated good agreement with the spatiotemporal synchronism of NDVI to hydro-climatic changes. The interaction analysis of geographical detector reveals that the interaction among influencing factors has a bivariate enhancement relationship and a nonlinear enhancement effect on NDVI. This study contributes to clarifying the individual influencing and interactive relationships of NDVI to hydro-climatic factors and human activities, and assist land restoration practitioners to evaluate the desert vegetation restoration status under current and future hydro-climatic changes in arid regions. Background: In the absence of practical and reliable predictors for whether the endocervical curettage (ECC) procedure should be performed, decisions regarding patient selection are usually based on the colposcopists' clinical judgment instead of evidence. We aimed to develop and validate a practical prediction model that uses available information to reliably estimate the need to perform ECC in patients suspected of having cervical lesions.Methods: In this retrospective study, 2088 patients who underwent colposcopy, colposcopically directed biopsy (CDB) and ECC procedures between September 2019 and September 2020 at the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University were included. The data were analyzed with univariate and multivariable logistic regression. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) was used to select predictors for ECC positivity. The ECC prediction model was presented as a nomogram and evaluated in terms of discrimination and calibration. Furthermore, this model was validated internally with cross-validation and bootstrapping.Results: Significant trends were found for ECC positivity with increasing age (P = 0.001), menopause (P = 0.003), Human papillomavirus (HPV) status (P < 0.001), severity of ThinPrep Cytological Test (TCT) (P < 0.001), original squamous epithelium ectopia (P = 0.037) and colposcopy impression (P < 0.001) by multivariable logistic regression analysis. The ECC prediction model was developed based on the following predictors: age, menopause, symptom of contact bleeding, severity of TCT, HPV status, cervix visibility, original squamous epithelium ectopia, acetowhite changes and colposcopic impression. This model had satisfactory calibration and good discrimination, with an area under the receiver operator characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.869 (95% confidence interval 0.849 to 0.889).Conclusions: A readily applicable clinical prediction model was constructed to reliably estimate the probability of ECC positivity in patients suspicious of having cervical lesions, which may help clinicians make decisions regarding the ECC procedure and possibly prevent adverse effects. To realize high performance flexible transparent electronics with extreme environmental adaptivity, Ag nanowires (Ag NWs) electrodes should simultaneously meet the requirements of high-temperature tolerance, chemical and mechanical robustness. Herein, a scalable Ag NWs bundle micro-meshes embedded in polyimide (Ag BMs/ePI) conducting film via a facile spray coating and transfer method is reported. Due to the synergistic effect of bundle micromesh and embedded architecture, the Ag BMs/ePI electrode exhibits high thermal stability (370 °C and 400 °C under ambient and nitrogen atmosphere conditions, respectively), low sheet resistance variation (<4%), good corrosion and deformation resistance. As an electrical heater, the Ag BMs/ePI can achieve ~204 °C with the fast thermal response time of ~8 s at 8 V, and exhibits good heating stability under bent condition. This work offers a promising platform for the emerging flexible transparent electronics to adapt extreme environments, especially for those devices which require high-temperature processing. The ionic nature endows halide perovskites with intrinsic interfacial defects in the formed polycrystalline films, thus imposing the challenge of synchronously passivating these defects with low formation energies that directly account for the unsatisfied performance of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). By virtue of the theoretically proven capability of a three to four times enhancement of the formation energy of each defect of Pb‐I antisite (PbI) and iodine vacancy (VI), a new passivation molecule of 1,10‐phenanthrolin‐5‐amine (PAA) is intentionally explored to synchronously passivate the dual defects. The pronounced passivation effect is experimentally verified by the sharp enhancement of the open‐circuit voltage in ternary PSCs from the original 1.118 up to 1.207 V, as well as the construction of PAA‐modified formamidinium lead iodide PSCs with a champion efficiency up to 24.06%, thus providing a universal alternative of addressing interfacial charge carrier dynamics and operational stability of PSCs that are bothered by the multiple interfacial defects. The wafer-scale fabrication of two-dimensional (2D) semiconductor thin films is the key to the preparation of large-area electronic devices. Although chemical vapor deposition (CVD) solves this problem to a certain extent, complex processes are required to realize the transfer of thin films from the growth substrate to the device substrate, not to mention its harsh reaction conditions. The solution-based synthesis and assembly of 2D semiconductors could realize the large-scale preparation of 2D semiconductor thin films economically. In this work, indium selenide (In2Se3) nanosheets with uniform sizes and thicknesses were prepared by the electrochemical intercalation of quaternary ammonium ions into bulk crystals. Layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly was used to fabricate scalable and uniform In2Se3 thin films by coordinating In2Se3 with poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA). Field-effect transistors (FETs) made from a single In2Se3 flake and In2Se3 thin films showed mobilities of 12.8 cm2·V−1·s−1 and 0.4 cm2·V−1·s−1, respectively, and on/off ratios of >103. The solution self-assembled In2Se3 thin films enriches the research on wafer-scale 2D semiconductor thin films for electronics and optoelectronics and has broad prospects in high-performance and large-area flexible electronics. With the rapid development of the Internet of Things, convenient and portable self-powered devices are in great need. Among all substitutes that could provide clean and sustainable power, the flexible perovskite solar cells (FPSCs) are the most attractive with the characteristics of flexibility, lightweight, high power conversion efficiency, and low cost. In this review, the recent advances of FPSCs are summarized, focusing on the materials' assessment of flexible and durable substrate, transparent electrode, low-temperature processed charge transporting layer, and mechanically robust perovskite film, with device design interspersed in each part. Highlights: Convincing candidates of flexible transparent electrodes are discussed in detail from the views of fabrication, properties and device performance. The progresses of flexible opaque electrodes used in flexible perovskite solar cells are provided. The future directions and challenges in developing flexible electrodes are highlighted. Flexible perovskite solar cells (FPSCs) have attracted enormous interest in wearable and portable electronics due to their high power-per-weight and low cost. Flexible and efficient perovskite solar cells require the development of flexible electrodes compatible with the optoelectronic properties of perovskite. In this review, the recent progress of flexible electrodes used in FPSCs is comprehensively reviewed. The major features of flexible transparent electrodes, including transparent conductive oxides, conductive polymer, carbon nanomaterials and nanostructured metallic materials are systematically compared. And the corresponding modification strategies and device performance are summarized. Moreover, flexible opaque electrodes including metal films, opaque carbon materials and metal foils are critically assessed.
