Objective: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a common chronic metabolic disease, and its prevalence is increasing globally. Exercise is crucial for T2D management, yet many aspects of its mechanisms remain unclear. This study employs CiteSpace to reveal research hotspots and frontier issues in exercise intervention for T2D. Method: A literature review spanning from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2022, was conducted using the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC), with keywords including "exercise," "type 2 diabetes," and "mechanisms." We analyzed network diagrams generated by CiteSpace, which depicted relationships among countries, authors, and keywords. Results: This study includes 1,210 English papers from 555 journals, affiliated with 348 institutions across 80 countries/regions. Notably, the United States, China, and the United Kingdom account for nearly half of all publications. The University of Copenhagen leads in publication volume, followed by Harvard Medical School and the University of Colorado. Key authors include Kirwan, John P (Case Western Reserve University), Malin, Steven K (Rutgers University), and Pedersen, Bente Klarlund (University of Copenhagen). Based on co-occurrence analysis of keywords, it is evident that terms such as "disease," "glucagon-like peptide 1," and "cardiovascular risk factor" exhibit high intermediary centrality. Conclusion: The analysis highlights ongoing investigations into molecular mechanisms, such as b-cell function enhancement, exerkines, and epigenetic mechanisms. Emerging areas include exercise response heterogeneity, circadian rhythm regulation, transcription factors, neurotrophic factors, and mitochondrial function. Future studies should prioritize understanding interactions between different exercise mechanisms and optimizing exercise prescriptions for T2D. Collaboration between countries and institutions is essential to understand the influences of different genetic backgrounds and environmental factors. Currently, a combination of aerobic and resistance training is considered the optimal form of exercise. Background: Due to the influence of theories, tools, and methodologies in studying well-being, sports science has predominantly focused on subjective well-being, with less attention given to psychological well-being and even less to the integrated study of comprehensive well-being. This study aims to analyze the relationship between yoga exercise intervention and the comprehensive well-being of college students and to explore the mechanism of a yoga exercise intervention to improve the comprehensive well-being of female college students. Methods: With 92 female college students as subjects, the "Comprehensive Well-being Scale" was used, and research methods such as yoga exercise intervention, questionnaire surveys, qualitative analysis, expert interviews, and statistical analysis were employed to investigate the role of a yoga exercise intervention on the comprehensive well-being of female college students. Results: Among the nine dimensions of comprehensive well-being, the three dimensions of subjective well-being and the two dimensions of psychological well-being (health concern and personality growth) of female college students were significantly improved. Additionally, four other dimensions of psychological well-being also showed significant improvement. Furthermore, the improvement in the life satisfaction of female college students' subjective well-being was mainly achieved through yoga meditation, while partner yoga posture practice could help individuals gradually form a stable pattern of altruistic behavior. Conclusion: Yoga exercise intervention can improve the comprehensive wellbeing of female college students and can be an effective counseling method for college students' mental health education. Airborne microorganisms, an emerging global health threat, have attracted extensive studies. However, few attentions have been paid to the seasonal distribution of airborne pathogens, in particular their associations with antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). To this end, two-week daily PM2.5 samples were consecutively collected from Nanchang in four seasons, and the human-tohuman pathogens were screened based on high-throughput sequencing. The results showed that there were 20 pathogenic taxa in PM2.5 in Nanchang, and the highest relative abundance of pathogens was observed in winter (5.84%), followed by summer (3.51%), autumn (2.66%), and spring (1.80%). Although more than half of pathogenic taxa were shared by the four seasons, the analysis of similarities showed that pathogenic community was shaped by season (r = 0.16, p < 0.01). Co-occurrence network analysis disclosed significant interactions among pathogens in each season. Moreover, some dominant pathogens such as Plesiomonas shigelloides, Bacteroides fragilis, and Escherichia-Shigella were hub pathogens. In addition, PICRUSt2 predicted that there were 35 high-risk ARG subtypes in PM2.5, and the pathogens had strongly positive correlations with these ARGs. Even some pathogens like Plesiomonas shigelloides, Bacteroides fragilis, Aeromonas, Citrobacter, may be multi-drug resistant pathogens, including betalactam, aminoglycosides, chloramphenicol and multi-drug resistances, etc. Both air pollutants and meteorological conditions contributed to the seasonal variation of airborne pathogenic bacteria (r = 0.15, p < 0.01), especially CO, O3, PM2.5, temperature and relative humidity. Background: Remimazolam, a new ultrashort-acting benzodiazepine, is becoming increasingly applied in general anesthesia. This study is designed to investigate the effect of remimazolam-based total intravenous anesthesia and sevoflurane-based inhalation anesthesia on emergence delirium in pediatric tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. Methods and analysis: This is a monocentric, prospective, randomized, double-blind clinical trial. A total of 90 pediatric patients will be randomized to receive remimazolam-based total intravenous anesthesia (remimazolam group, n = 45) or sevoflurane-based inhalation anesthesia (sevoflurane group, n = 45). The primary outcome will be the incidence of emergence delirium, which will be evaluated using the Pediatric Anesthesia Emergence Delirium (PAED) scale. The secondary outcomes include the extubation time, recovery time, behavior change using the posthospitalization behavior questionnaire for ambulatory surgery (PHBQ-AS), and adverse events. Background: Patients with carotid atherosclerotic stenosis (CAS) often have varying degrees of cognitive decline. However, there is little evidence regarding how brain morphological and functional abnormalities impact the cognitive decline in CAS patients. This study aimed to determine how the brain morphological and functional changes affected the cognitive decline in patients with CAS. Methods: The brain morphological differences were analyzed using surface and voxel-based morphometry, and the seed-based whole-brain functional connectivity (FC) abnormalities were analyzed using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging. Further, mediation analyses were performed to determine whether and how morphological and FC changes affect cognition in CAS patients. Results: The CAS-MCI (CAS patients with mild cognitive impairment) group performed worse in working memory, verbal fluency, and executive time. Cortical thickness (CT) of the left postcentral and superiorparietal were significantly reduced in CAS-MCI patients. The gray matter volume (GMV) of the right olfactory, left temporal pole (superior temporal gyrus) (TPOsup.L), left middle temporal gyrus (MTG.L), and left insula (INS.L) were decreased in the CAS-MCI group. Besides, decreased seed-based FC between TPOsup.L and left precuneus, between MTG.L and TPOsup.L, and between INS.L and MTG.L, left middle frontal gyrus, as well as Superior frontal gyrus, were found in CAS-MCI patients. Mediation analyses demonstrated that morphological and functional abnormalities fully mediated the association between the maximum degree of carotid stenosis and cognitive function. Conclusion: Multiple brain regions have decreased GMV and CT in CAS-MCI patients, along with disrupted seed-based FC. Background: Central venous catheterization (CVC) is a critical clinical procedure. To avoid complications, possessing good knowledge regarding the CVC care bundle and skills for the proper insertion and maintenance of CVC are important. Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of an educational intervention and the use of an interactive response system in enhancing the CVC bundle care and insertion skills of medical students undergoing critical care medicine training. Materials and Methods: Sixth-year medical students (equivalent to fourth-year students in the United States) engaged in didactic lessons, interactive demonstrations, and simulator training facilitated by a CVC team comprising three thoracic and two vascular surgeons (all with a minimum 5 years of experience in central venous access) during their intensive care unit (ICU) rotation. Self-reported knowledge and confidence levels were assessed using pre-and posttests administered through the Zuvio App, an interactive response system. Results: A total of 60 students underwent the educational intervention, of which 54 completed the pretest and 40 completed the posttest. In the posttest, significant improvement was found in the CVC bundle care competency and understanding (P = 0.002), preprocedural preparation (P = 0.002), insertion procedures (P = 0.004), complications (P = 0.003), and insertion depth decisions (P = 0.001). Staff and students reported that assessment and interaction via the Zuvio App were valuable, practical, and feasible in a clinical setting, providing trainees with an individual competency portfolio of receiving precise medical education. Conclusions: Integrating the training provided by a specialized team with an interactive response system enhanced the knowledge and competency level in CVC insertion among medical students in this study. Objectives: To explore the correlation between mitochondrial quantity and the blastocyst development timeline as well as their respective contributions to early pregnancy. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted using a dataset comprising 2,633 embryos that underwent preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) between January 2016 and December 2023. The study was divided into three subsets to address distinct aspects: the representativeness of a single trophectoderm (TE) biopsy for mitochondrial quantity (n=43), the correlation between morphokinetic features and mitochondrial quantity (n=307), and the association analysis among mitochondrial quantity, blastocyst timeline factor, and reproductive outcomes (n=2,283). Distribution assessment of mitochondrial quantity across an individual blastocyst involved the identification within multiple biopsies and spent culture media. Timeline evaluation included correlating mitochondrial quantity with time-lapse datasets. Finally, multivariate logistic regression models, incorporating potential effectors alongside mitochondrial quantity, were employed to analyze their respective contributions to early pregnancy endpoints. Results: Of distribution assessment, mitochondrial quantity exhibited an even distribution across the entire trophectoderm (Spearman's r=0.82), while no detectable mtDNAs in the corresponding spent culture media. Then the timeline correlation study revealed significant association between mitochondrial quantity and blastocyst features of both the day of expanded blastocyst formation (95% Confidence intervals, CIs: 0.27~4.89, p=0.03) and the timing of expanded blastocyst formation (tEB) (95% CIs: -0.24~-0.01, p=0.04) in the regression model, indicating a strong dependency between mitochondrial quantity and the blastocyst development timeline. For the contribution to early pregnancy, multivariate logistic regression models showed that the day of expanded blastocyst formation contributed to four endpoints persistently: positive for HCG (odd ratio, OR: 0.71, p=0.006), gestational sac (OR: 0.78, p=0.04), fetal heartbeat (OR: 0.71, p=0.004), and progression to 14 weeks (OR: 0.69, p=0.002). Contrastingly, no notable correlation was observed between the mitochondrial quantity and these endpoints. Conclusions: Strong interaction was observed between mitochondrial quantity and the blastocyst timeline, particularly the timing of expanded blastocyst formation. Rabies virus (RABV) causes a fatal neurological disease, consisting of unsegmented negative-strand RNA, which encodes five structural proteins (3'- N-P-M-G-L-5'). Apolipoprotein D (ApoD), a lipocalin, is upregulated in the nervous system after injury or pathological changes. Few studies have focused on the role of ApoD during virus infection so far. This study demonstrated that ApoD is upregulated in the mouse brain (in vivo) and C8-D1A cells (in vitro) after RABV infection. By upregulating ApoD expression in C8-D1A cells, we found that ApoD facilitated RABV replication. Additionally, Co-immunoprecipitation demonstrated that ApoD interacted with RABV glycoprotein (G protein). The interaction could promote RABV replication by upregulating the cholesterol level. Octanuclear polyoxomolybdenum-based porous materials, Na8[Mo8O8(µ2-O)8(µ2-OH)8(3-apz)4]2·26H2O (1, 3-Hapz = 3-aminopyrazole), K8[Mo8O8(µ2-O)8(µ2-OH)8(3-apz)4]2·7H2O (2) and (NH4)4[Mo8O8(µ2- O)8(µ2-OH)4(3-apz)8]·20.5H2O (3), have been successfully synthesized by a hydrothermal method and fully characterized. X-ray structural analyses show that microporous materials 1-3 contain round pores formed by octanuclear molybdenum-oxygen groups connected sequentially with pore sizes of 4.0, 4.0, and 4.8 Å, respectively. Both 1 and 2 are composed of two {Mo8} rings, which are connected by strong intramolecular hydrogen bonds between bridging hydroxy groups and oxygen atoms to form dimeric structures. The central pores in 1 and 2 are occupied by Na+ and K+, respectively, while they are empty in 3. This reflects the structural expansion and contraction effects induced by different cations. Through intermolecular stacking, 1-3 also exhibit channels with sizes of 14.0 × 6.4, 4.6 × 2.6, and 5.4 × 5.4 Å, respectively, which were used for the studies of gas adsorption. The results show that 1-3 can selectively adsorb CO2 and O2, including the empty hole in 3, while they show little or no affinity for gases H2, N2, and CH4. Moreover, an additional polyoxomolybdenum-based species (Mo8O26)n·4n(3-H2apz) (4) has been obtained with protonated 3-aminopyrazole in the absence of a reducing agent, which can serve as an intermediate for the polyoxomolybdenum-based porous products. Powdery mildew, caused by Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici (Bgt), is one of the most destructive fungal diseases threatening global wheat production. Exploring powdery mildew resistance (Pm) gene(s) and dissecting the molecular mechanism of the host resistance are critical to effectively and reasonably control this disease. Durum wheat (Triticum turgidum L. var. durum Desf.) is an important gene donor for wheat improvement against powdery mildew. In this study, a resistant durum wheat accession W762 was used to investigate its potential resistance component(s) and profile its expression pattern in responding to Bgt invasion using bulked segregant RNA-Seq (BSR-Seq) and further qRT-PCR verification. Genetic analysis showed that the powdery mildew resistance in W762 did not meet monogenic inheritance and complex genetic model might exist within the population of W762 × Langdon (susceptible durum wheat). After BSR-Seq, 6,196 consistently different single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were called between resistant and susceptible parents and bulks, and among them, 763 SNPs were assigned to the chromosome arm 7B. Subsequently, 3,653 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between resistant and susceptible parents and bulkswere annotated and analyzed by GeneOntology (GO), Cluster of Orthologous Groups (COG), and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment. The potential regulated genes were selected and analyzed their temporal expression patterns following Bgt inoculation. As a result, nine disease-related genes showed distinctive expression profile after Bgt invasion and might serve as potential targets to regulate the resistance against powdery mildew in W762. We design a multifunctional THz polarization modulation meta-mirror integrated with polarization conversion and dichroism functions switched by temperature and voltage. The meta-mirror is composed of two-layered graphene metasurfaces and a layer of vanadium dioxide (VO2) on a gold film substrate. Linear-to-linear polarization conversion and linear dichroism (LD) can be switched by temperature control in the VO2 film and Fermi level adjustments in the graphene metasurfaces, where the polarization conversion ratio (PCR) is higher than 0.9 in the range of 2.89 THz to 4.02 THz, LD value reached a maximum of 0.6 at 3.84 THz, and linear-to-circular polarization conversion and circular dichroism (CD) can also be tuned with ellipticity higher than 0.9 in the range of 2.32 THz to 2.69 THz and CD value as high as 0.71 at 2.45 THz. The proposed meta-mirror is the first THz metamaterial device integrating four switchable functions, including linear-to-linear polarization conversion, linear-tocircular polarization conversion, linear dichroism and circular dichroism. Background/Aim: Progressive fibrosing interstitial lung disease (PF-ILD) refers to a group of chronic lung conditions commonly associated with immunoglobulin G4- related disorders. It is characterized by progressive scarring (fibrosis) within the pulmonary interstitium, resulting in respiratory failure and early mortality. Some patients do not respond to standard therapeutic interventions. Numerous studies have confirmed the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of molecular hydrogen in various disease models. Case Report: In this report, we present a case study of an 85-year-old female diagnosed with suspected IgG4-related PF-ILD complicated by hospital-acquired pneumonia. On the fourth day of hydrogen-assisted therapy, a noticeable improvement in lung infiltrations was observed in chest X-rays as the patient gradually progressed towards weaning off mechanical ventilation. To assess treatment responses, we compared immune phenotypes before and after hydrogen treatment. A marked increase was observed in resting regulatory T cell levels after treatment, accompanied by a notable decrease in Fas+ helper T cell and cytotoxic T cell subtypes. It is challenging to separate fluorite from calcite due to their same calcium activated sites on their surfaces. The copolymer of maleic and acylic acid (PMAA) was used to inhibit the calcite in the flotation of fluorite. Micro-flotation results exhibited that sodium oleate (NaOl) had a good ability to collect fluorite and calcite in the scope of pH 7-10. The PMAA treatment prior to NaOl selectively depressed the floatability of calcite while allowed the flotation of fluorite, and the artificial minerals mixture plotted that fluorite/calcite could be effectively separated in the presence of PMAA/NaOl. Zeta potential results suggested that NaOl collector was absorbed on the PMAA-conditioned calcite surface but did not adsorb on the PMAA-conditioned fluorite surface. XPS results and calculational chemistry revealed the chemical interaction occurred between calcite surface and PMAA which was attributed to the calcium ions of calcite surface interacting with -COOH group of PMAA. Due to the unbalanced emission reductions in ozone precursors in recent years, ozone trends and the causes of their variations in eastern China remain insufficiently understood. To explore the factors controlling ozone trends in eastern China, the long-term ozone precursors observation experiment was conducted. Combined with the satellite and surface measurements, the trend of low, typical and peak ozone concentrations in eastern China was evaluated in detail. Observation results show that the surface peak ozone concentrations significantly decreased (-0.5% per year) while low ozone concentrations increased (0.3% per year) in eastern China during May-September 2017-2022. The underlying cause of surface low and peak ozone trends in eastern China is anthropogenic emission. Ozone formation sensitivity is in VOC-limited regime or transition regime during periods (8:00-11:00) of sharp increases in ozone concentrations, and it is usually in NOx-limited regime when the ozone concentration reaches its peak (~14:00). Substantial reductions in nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions have diametrically opposed effects on peak (decreasing) and low (increasing) ozone concentrations, and reducing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) concentrations is the key to reversing the current high ozone level situation in eastern China. In addition, there are obvious interannual variations of surface O3 formation sensitivity on spatial scales through long-term satellite observations, in which area proportion of VOC-limited regime is decreasing while the area proportion of NOx-limited regime is increasing. Our results highlight the positive impacts of NOx reduction in controlling peak O3 levels, and regular changes in the ozone formation sensitivity throughout the day should be taken into account when formulating ozone control policies. Understanding the factors that shape the diversity, distribution, and function of denitrifying microbes is vital for managing nitrogen cycling in these ecosystems. This study explores the diversity, biogeographic distribution, assembly processes, interaction, and denitrification potential of the nirS-encoding microbial community (nirS denitrifier) in the Pearl River Estuary based on highthroughput and metagenomics sequencing dataset. The results of this study show that salinity is a crucial regulatory environmental factor that determines the spatial distribution, phylogenetic turnover, and co-occurrence patterns of nirS denitrifiers. Additionally, the dissolved organic carbon (DOC), suspended sediment concentration (SSC), and dissolved oxygen (DO) in water also significantly impact the biodiversity and abundance of nirS denitrifiers. Furthermore, our findings demonstrate that, in comparison to environmental factors, the ecological and evolutionary characteristics of nirS denitrifiers play a more prominent role in regulating their denitrification potential, suggesting that alterations in the microbial community within dynamic changes in estuarine water can profoundly affect its denitrification function. Our results indicate the significant roles of denitrification microbial structure and phylogenetic characteristics in maintaining their ecological functions. Future studies should continue to explore the interactions between microbial communities and environmental factors to further elucidate the denitrification process in estuaries and its implications for ecosystem health and water quality. Dust loading in West and South Asia has been a major environmental issue due to its negative effects on air quality, food security, energy supply and public health, as well as on regional and global weather and climate. Yet a robust understanding of its recent changes and future projection remains unclear. On the basis of several high-quality remote sensing products, we detect a consistently decreasing trend of dust loading in West and South Asia over the last two decades. In contrast to previous studies emphasizing the role of local land use changes, here, we attribute the regional dust decline to the continuous intensification of Arctic amplification driven by anthropogenic global warming. Arctic amplification results in anomalous mid-latitude atmospheric circulation, particularly a deepened trough stretching from West Siberia to Northeast India, which inhibits both dust emissions and their downstream transports. Large ensemble climate model simulations further support the dominant role of greenhouse gases induced Arctic amplification in modulating dust loading over West and South Asia. Future projections under different emission scenarios imply potential adverse effects of carbon neutrality in leading to higher regional dust loading and thus highlight the importance of stronger anti-desertification counter-actions such as reforestation and irrigation management. Nickel diselenide (NiSe2), which has a high theoretical capacity, has attracted considerable attention as a promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). Nevertheless, the intrinsically low conductivity, large volume variation, and significant aggregation of NiSe2 during sodiation/desodiation remain significant obstacles to its application. Herein, we report flower-like Fe-doped NiSe2/C hybrid spheres (denoted as Fe-NiSe2/C) fabricated by a glucose intercalation strategy for efficient sodium storage. These Fe-NiSe2 /C hybrid spheres are composed of thin porous carbon nanosheets decorated with Fe-NiSe2 nanoparticles. In situ introduced carbon nanosheets derived from intercalated glucose accompanied by moderate Fe doping in NiSe2 nanoparticles can provide accelerated ion/electron transfer kinetics through fast ion channels in the flower-like architecture and intimately contacted interfaces between NiSe2 and carbon nanosheets as well as maintain structural integrity by alleviating volume variation. Consequently, the optimal anode of the Fe-NiSe2 /C hybrid spheres delivered a high discharge capacity of 415 mAh g-1 at 0.5 A g-1, outstanding rate capability (243 mAh g-1 at 5 A g-1), and significantly enhanced cycling stability (388 mAh g-1 at 1 A g-1 over 200 cycles). This work offers an efficient and valuable strategy for realizing tailored heteroatom doping in transition metal selenides, accompanied by an in situ combination of conductive carbonaceous networks for advanced alkali metal ion batteries. The Tibetan Plateau (TP) plays a key role in regional environment and global climate change, however, the lack of vertical observation hinders a deeper understanding of the atmospheric chemistry and atmospheric oxidation capacity (AOC) on the TP. In this study, we conducted MAX-DOAS measurements at Nam Co, central TP, to observe the vertical profiles of aerosol, water vapor, NO2, HONO and O3 from May to July 2019. In addition to NO2 mainly exhibiting a Gaussian shape with the maximum value appearing at 300-400 m, other four species all showed an exponential shape and decreased with the increase of height. The maximum values of monthly averaged aerosol (0.17 km-1) and O3 (66.71 ppb) occurred on May, water vapor (3.68×1017 molec cm-3) and HONO (0.13 ppb) appeared on July, while NO2 (0.39 ppb) occurred on June at 200-400 m layer. Water vapor, HONO and O3 all exhibited a multi-peak pattern, and aerosol appeared a bi-peak pattern for their averaged diurnal variation. Moreover, we found O3 and HONO were the main contributors to OH on the TP. The averaged vertical profiles of OH production rates from O3 and HONO all exhibited an exponential shape, and decreased with the increase of height with the maximum values of 2.61 ppb/h and 0.49 ppb/h at the bottom layer, respectively. In addition, source analysis for HONO and O3 were conducted based on vertical observations. The heterogeneous reaction of NO2 on wet surfaces was a significant source of HONO, which obviously associated with water vapor concentration and aerosol extinction. The maximum values of HONO/NO2 appeared around water vapor being 1.0×1017 molec cm-3 and aerosol being lager 0.15 km-1 under 1.0 km, and the maximum values usually accompanied with water vapor being 1.0-2.0×1017 molec cm-3 and aerosol being lager 0.02 km-1 at 1.0-2.0 km. O3 was potentially sourced from south Asian subcontinent and Himalayas through long-range transport. We report on our discovery of the radio pulsar, PSR J2016+3711, in supernova remnant (SNR) CTB 87, with a ∼10.8σ significance of pulses, which confirms the compact nature of the X-ray point source in CTB 87. It is the first pulsar discovered in SNRs using Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST). Its integrated radio pulse profile can be well described by a single component, with a width at 50 per cent of the peak flux density of about 28.1○ and an effective width of about 32.2○. The mean flux density at 1.25 GHz is estimated to be about 15.5  |$\mu$| Jy. Combined with the non-detection of the radio pulse at lower frequencies, the radio spectral index of the pulsar is constrained to be ≲2.3. We also present the timing solution based on 28 follow-up FAST observations. Our results reveal a period of 50.81 ms, period derivative of 7.2 × 10−14 s s−1, and dispersion measure of 428 pc cm−3. The strength of the equatorial surface magnetic dipole magnetic field is inferred to be about 1.9 × 1012 G. Using the ephemeris obtained from the radio observations, we searched Fermi -LAT data for gamma-ray pulsations but detected no pulsed signal. We also searched for radio pulses with FAST towards the X-ray counterpart of the gamma-ray binary HESS J1832−093 proximate to SNR G22.7−00.2 but found no signal. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study adopts the cohesive element technology for the first time to analyze the dynamic evolution process of crack formation and propagation, and to clarify the mechanical mechanism of the O-X failure pattern in the roof. The mechanical behavior of cohesive failure inside the rock is simulated based on the maximum nominal stress criterion, and the Benzeggagh-Kenane (BK) fracture criterion is used to further describe the dependence of fracture energy on the combination of mixed tensile-shear mode. The results show that the O-shaped crack is formed on the top surface of the roof, and delamination occurs along the thickness direction, which coincides with the crack bifurcation position on the bottom surface of the roof. Accurate fault diagnosis is essential for the safe operation of rotating machinery. Recently, traditional deep learning-based fault diagnosis have achieved promising results. However, most of these methods focus only on supervised learning and tend to use small convolution kernels non-effectively to extract features that are not controllable and have poor interpretability. To this end, this study proposes an innovative semi-supervised learning method for bearing fault diagnosis. Firstly, multi-scale dilated convolution squeeze-and-excitation residual blocks are designed to exact local and global features. Secondly, a classifier generative adversarial network is employed to achieve multi-task learning. Both unsupervised and supervised learning are performed simultaneously to improve the generalization ability. Finally, supervised learning is applied to fine-tune the final model, which can extract multi-scale features and be further improved by implicit data augmentation. Powdery mildew is one of the most severe diseases affecting wheat yield and quality and is caused by Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici (Bgt). Host resistance is the preferred strategy to prevent this disease. However, the narrow genetic basis of common wheat has increased the demand for diversified germplasm resources against powdery mildew. Wheat relatives, especially the secondary gene pool of common wheat, are important gene donors in the genetic improvement of common wheat because of its abundant genetic variation and close kinship with wheat. In this study, a series of 137 wheat relatives, including 53 Triticum monococcum L. (2n = 2x = 14, AA), 6 T. urartu Thumanjan ex Gandilyan (2n = 2x = 14, AA), 9 T. timopheevii Zhuk. (2n = 4x = 28, AAGG), 66 T. aestivum subsp. spelta (2n = 6x = 42, AABBDD), and 3 Aegilops speltoides (2n = 2x = 14, SS) were systematically evaluated for their powdery mildew resistance and composition of Pm genes. Out of 137 (60.58%) accessions, 83 were resistant to Bgt isolate E09 at the seedling stage, and 116 of 137 (84.67%) wheat relatives were resistant to the mixture of Bgt isolates at the adult stage. This indicates that these accessions show a high level of resistance to powdery mildew. Some 31 markers for 23 known Pm genes were used to test these 137 accessions, and, in the results, only Pm2, Pm4, Pm6, Pm58, and Pm68 were detected. Among them, three Pm4 alleles (Pm4a, Pm4b, and Pm4f) were identified in 4 T. subsp. spelta accessions. q-RT PCR further confirmed that Pm4 alleles played a role in disease resistance in these four accessions. The phylogenetic tree showed that the kinship of Pm4 was close to Pm24 and Sr62. This study not only provides reference information and valuable germplasm resources for breeding new wheat varieties with disease resistance but also lays a foundation for enriching the genetic basis of wheat resistance to powdery mildew. This study presents the meteotsunami behavior in response to different storm types in the coasts of southern Asia-Pacific Ocean from 16 years water level records. Through the size-frequency analysis, the dangerous meteotsunami, wave height exceeding 0.3 m, can occur up to 44 events per year. Notably, during the extreme waves of the 2007 event, wave heights reached approximately 0.9-1.5 m in the Taiwan Strait and the western coastal areas of Taiwan. We have classified storms into six types by radar reflectivity images and satellite-derived precipitation. Findings indicate that predicted wave heights caused by bows and typhoons could reach hazardous magnitude of exceeding 2 m in a 100-yr interval. Spatial and temporal analysis reveals that meteotsunami occurrences are most frequent in the western regions during the winter to early spring months (December to April). Of all meteotsunami occurrences, cluster storms are identified as the most prevalent atmospheric forcing, accounting for 60% of meteostunamis. Typhoons have a 20% association with meteotsunamis along the east coasts of Taiwan during late summer to autumn. On the east coasts, typhoon type-induced events may be attributed to the combination effect of meteotsunamis and infra-gravity waves. Overall, this study provides the first comprehensive examination of meteotsunami-storm characteristics and their associated hazard risks in the coastal areas of the southern Asia-Pacific Ocean. Slickwater fracturing fluids have gained widespread application in the development of tight oil reservoirs. After the fracturing process, the active components present in slickwater can directly induce spontaneous imbibition within the reservoir. Several variables influence the eventual recovery rate within this procedure, including slickwater composition, formation temperature, degree of reservoir fracture development, and the reservoir characteristics. Nonetheless, the underlying mechanisms governing these influences remain relatively understudied. In this investigation, using the Chang-7 block of the Changqing Oilfield as the study site, we employ EM-30 slickwater fracturing fluid to explore the effects of the drag-reducing agent concentration, imbibition temperature, core permeability, and core fracture development on spontaneous imbibition. An elevated drag-reducing agent concentration is observed to diminish the degree of medium and small pore utilization. Furthermore, higher temperatures and an augmented permeability enhance the fluid flow properties, thereby contributing to an increased utilization rate across all pore sizes. Reduced fracture development results in a lower fluid utilization across diverse pore types. This study deepens our understanding of the pivotal factors affecting spontaneous imbibition in tight reservoirs following fracturing. Objective: Intracranial aneurysm (IA) represents a devastating disease with high rates of disability and mortality, which is initiated by dysfunction of endothelial cells (ECs). Evidence suggests the dysregulation of the E3 ubiquitin ligase family during EC injury. In this work, the role of an E3 ubiquitin ligase, casitas B lymphoma-B (CBLB), was explored in human brain microvascular EC (HBMEC) function through the NLRP3 pathway. Methods: In vitro IA model was induced by treating HBMECs with oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL). The levels of CBLB and pyroptosis-related proteins NLRP3, ASC, cleaved caspase-1, and GSDME-N were determined by real-time-quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blotting. HBMEC apoptosis, proliferation, and migration were evaluated by flow cytometry, MTT, and scratch tests. An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was conducted to measure interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-18 levels in cell culture supernatant. The ubiquitination of NLRP3 was detected by co-immunoprecipitation. Results: NLRP3 was highly expressed while CBL-B was weakly expressed in ox-LDL-treated HBMECs. Cell apoptosis was enhanced, proliferation and migration were weakened, NLRP3 inflammasome was activated, and levels of gasdermin E-N, IL-1β, and IL-18 were increased in ox-LDL-induced HBMECs. The above tendencies were counteracted by NLRP3 knockdown or CBL-B overexpression. Additionally, CBL-B overexpression increased NLRP3 ubiquitination, suggesting that CBL-B hampered the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome by ubiquitinating NLRP3. Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide. Comprehensive data on the economic burden of CRC at a populationlevel is critical in informing policymaking, but such data are currently limited in China. Methods: From a societal perspective, the economic burden of CRC in 2019 was estimated, including direct medical and nonmedical expenditure, disability, and premature-death-related indirect expenditure. Data on disease burden was taken from the GBD 2019 and analyzed using a prevalence-based approach. The perperson direct expenditure and work loss days were from a multicenter study; the premature-death-related expenditure was estimated using a human capital approach. Projections were conducted in different simulated scenarios. All expenditure data were in Chinese Yuan (CNY) and discounted to 2019. Results: In 2019, the estimated overall economic burden of CRC in China was CNY170.5 billion (0.189% of the local GDP). The direct expenditure was CNY106.4 billion (62.4% of the total economic burden), 91.4% of which was a direct medical expenditure. The indirect expenditure was CNY64.1 billion, of which 63.7% was related to premature death. Background/Aim: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease associated with the functional impairment of multiple joints and the destruction of bone and cartilage. Methotrexate (MTX) is a first-line drug commonly used to treat RA; however, even low doses of MTX can potentially cause rare but severe adverse reactions, such as neutropenic enterocolitis (NE), a life-threatening disease characterized by intestinal mucosal damage and immunodeficiency. Case Report: Here, we report on an 82- year-old RA patient who developed life-threatening NE after ten years of low-dose MTX treatment. The condition of the patient rapidly worsened, requiring emergency electrical cardioversion and intravenous treatment with immunoglobulin (IVIG). Immunophenotypic responses were analyzed before and after treatment to evaluate therapeutic efficacy. Conclusion: This case highlights the importance of monitoring elderly patients with RA receiving low-dose MTX treatment for the potential accumulation of MTX toxicity. Introduction: We explored the relationship and the predictive value of serum fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) with all-cause mortality, major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) and pneumonia in hemodialysis (HD) patients. Methods: A total of 388 Chinese HD patients from two HD centers were finally enrolled in this prospective cohort study (registration number: ChiCTR 1900028249) between January 2018 and December 2018. Serum FGF21 was detected. Patients were followed up with a median period of 47 months to record the MACEs and pneumonia until death or 31 December 2022. Results: The incidence of all-cause mortality, MACEs and pneumonia in HD patients were 20.6%, 29.6%, and 34.8%, respectively. The optimal cutoffs for FGF21 to predict all-cause mortality, MACEs and pneumonia were 437.57 pg/mL, 216.99 pg/mL and 112.79 pg/mL. Multivariate Cox regression analyses showed that FGF21, as a categorical variable, was an independent predictor for all-cause mortality, MACEs and pneumonia (HR, 3.357, 95% CI, 2.128-5.295, p < 0.001; HR, 1.575, 95% CI, 1.046-2.371, p = 0.029; HR, 1.784; 95% CI, 1.124-2.830; p = 0.014, respectively). The survival nomogram, MACEs-free survival nomogram and pneumonia-free survival nomogram based on FGF21 constructed for individualized assessment of HD patients had a high C-index with 0.841, 0.706 and 0.734. Background: Systemic inflammation is one of the underlying mechanisms of cognitive impairment. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) has emerged as a systemic inflammation indicator. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the association between high NLR and cognitive impairment (CI) risk. Method: A comprehensive systematic search was conducted to identify eligible studies published until May 30, 2023. The reference group comprised patients with the lowest NLR level, whereas the exposure group comprised those with the highest NLR level. The main outcome was to examine the relationship between NLR and CI risk. The secondary outcome included the association between patient characteristics or comorbidities and CI risk. Results: This meta-analysis included 11 studies published between 2018 and 2023, involving 10,357 patients. Patients with CI had a higher NLR than those without (mean difference=0.35, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.26-0.44, p < 00001, I2 = 86%). Consistently, pooled results revealed an association between high NLR and CI risk (odds ratio [OR]=2.53, 95% CI:1.67-3.82, p<0.0001, I2 = 84%). Furthermore, aging (mean difference =4.31 years, 95% CI:2.83-5.8, p < 0.00001, I2 = 92%), diabetes (OR=1.59, 95% CI:1.35-1.88, p < 0.00001, I2 = 66%), and hypertension (OR=1.36, 95% CI:1.19-1.57, p < 0.00001, I2 = 0%) were significant risk factors for CI. However, no significant associations were observed between CI and male gender (OR = 0.84, 95% CI:0.64-1.11, p = 0.22, I2 = 81%), body mass index (mean = -0.32 kg/m2, 95% CI: -0.82, 0.18, p = 0.2, I2 = 82%), alcohol consumption (OR = 1.11, 95% CI:0.95-1.3, p = 1.35, I2 = 0%), and smoking (OR = 0.99, 95% CI:0.87-1.13, p = 0.86, I2 = 0%). Metaregression found that diabetes and hypertension, but not age, significantly moderated the association between NLR and CI. Conclusion: This meta-analysis showed a significant association between high NLR and increased CI risk. Moreover, meta-regression identified diabetes and hypertension, but not age, as significant moderating factors in the relationship between NLR and CI. Introduction: Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is a common complication of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Identifying patients at high CIN risk remains challenging. The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index may help predict CIN but evidence is limited. We conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the diagnostic value of TyG index for CIN after PCI. Methods: A systematic literature search was performed in MEDLINE, Cochrane, and EMBASE until August 2023 (PROSPERO registration: CRD42023452257). Observational studies examining TyG index for predicting CIN risk in PCI patients were included. This diagnostic meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the accuracy of the TyG index in predicting the likelihood of CIN. Secondary outcomes aimed to assess the pooled incidence of CIN and the association between an elevated TyG index and the risk of CIN. Results: Five studies (Turkey, n=2; China, n=3) with 3518 patients (age range: 57.6 to 68.22 years) were included. The pooled incidence of CIN was 15.3% [95% confidence interval (CI) 11-20.8%]. A high TyG index associated with increased CIN risk (odds ratio: 2.25, 95% CI 1.82-2.77). Pooled sensitivity and specificity were 0.77 (95% CI 0.59-0.88) and 0.55 (95% CI 0.43-0.68) respectively. Analysis of the summary receiver operating characteristic (sROC) curve revealed an area under the curve of 0.69 (95% CI 0.65-0.73). There was a low risk of publication bias (p = 0.81). Conclusion: The TyG index displayed a noteworthy correlation with the risk of CIN subsequent to PCI. However, its overall diagnostic accuracy was found to be moderate in nature. While promising, the TyG index should not be used in isolation for CIN screening given the heterogeneity between studies. In addition, the findings cannot be considered conclusive given the scarcity of data.
