Abstract

The article discusses the role of autophagy against active tuberculosis. Study shows that autophagy protects against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis) infection and excessive inflammation in vivo. It states that macrophages defective for autophagy secrete proinflammatory cytokines and in a cell-autonomous fashion.
