We study the split fixed point problem with multiple output sets in nonlinear spaces, particularly in CAT(0) spaces. We modify the existing self-adaptive algorithm for solving the split common fixed point problem with multiple output sets in the settings of generalized structures. The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and applications has resulted in an increasing demand for Low Power and Wide Area Network (LPWAN) solutions. The adoption of IoT networks still faces several challenges, despite the rapid advancement of low-power communication technology. Homogenizing this sector requires allowing interoperability between many technologies, which is now one of the largest obstacles. In this article, we present the design and implementation of the hybrid LPWAN architecture that can accomplish wide-area communication coverage and low-power consumption for IoT applications by leveraging two LPWAN technologies, Wireless Smart Ubiquitous Network (Wi-SUN) and Long Range (LoRa). In particular, LoRa is used for long-range communication, and Wi-SUN for a low-latency mesh network. Additionally, we implemented smart street light controlling system as a real-world deployment at the university campus to showcase the efficiency of the hybrid network. Our results demonstrate that the hybrid LPWAN architecture provides a better coverage and capacity while consuming less power than that of the LoRa or Wi-SUN network. We have suggested a new modified iterative scheme for approximating a common fixed point of two G-nonexpansive mappings. Our approach was based on an iterative scheme in the context of Banach spaces via directed graphs. First, we proved a weak convergence theorem using the Opial's property of the underlying space. A weak convergence result without the Opial's property was also given. After this, we established several strong convergence theorems using various mild conditions. We also carried out some numerical simulations to examine the main techniques. The present study aimed to investigate the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Chatbots on academic self-efficacy and self-regulation among university students. To test the moderating effect of self-regulation on the association between AI Chatbots and academic self-efficacy. In addition, the research aligns with highlighted social debates surrounding ethical quandaries surrounding AI adoption in education. Using purposive sampling technique data was collected from universities students (N = 350) based in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Along with demographic information, data was collected on the measures of the Human-Computer Trust Scale, Academic Self-Efficacy Scale, and Short-Form Self-Regulation Questionnaire to assess study variables. Results showed that AI Chatbots and Self-Regulation positively predict academic self-efficacy. Purpose: Organisations and industries are often looking for technologies that can accomplish multiple tasks, providing economic benefits and an edge over their competitors. In this context, drones have the potential to change many industries by making operations more efficient, safer and more economic. Therefore, this study investigates the use of drones as the next step in smart/digital warehouse management to determine their socio-economic benefits. Design/methodology/approach: The study identifies various enablers impacting drone applications to improve inventory management, intra-logistics, inspections and surveillance in smart warehouses through a literature review, a test of concordance and the fuzzy Delphi method. Further, the graph theory matrix approach (GTMA) method was applied to ranking the enablers of drone application in smart/digital warehouses. In the subsequent phase, researchers investigated the relation between the drone application's performance and the enablers of drone adoption using logistic regression analysis under the TOE framework. Findings: This study identifies inventory man agement, intra-logistics, inspections and surveillance are three major applications of drones in the smart warehousing. Further, nine enablers are identified for the adoption of drone in warehouse management. The findings suggest that operational effectiveness, compatibility of drone integration and quality/value offered are the most impactful enablers of drone adoption in warehouses. The logistic regression findings are useful for warehouse managers who are planning to adopt drones in a warehouse for efficient operations. Research limitations/implications: This study identifies the enablers of drone adoption in the smart and digital warehouse through the literature review and fuzzy Delphi. Therefore, some enablers may be overlooked during the identification process. In addition to this, the analysis is based on the opinion of the expert which might be influenced by their field of expertise. Practical implications: By considering technology-organisation-environment (TOE) framework warehousing companies identify the opportunities and challenges associated with using drones in a smart warehouse and develop strategies to integrate drones into their operations effectively. In this paper, we introduce the novel concept of generalized distance denoted as J θ and call it an extended b-generalized pseudo-distance. With the help of this generalized distance, we define a generalized point to set distance J θ (u , H ★) , a generalized Hausdorff type distance and a P J θ -property of a pair (H ★ , K ★) of nonempty subsets of extended b-metric space (U ★ , ρ θ). Additionally, we establish several best proximity point theorems for multi-valued contraction mappings of Nadler type defined on b-metric spaces and extended b-metric spaces. The exacerbation of high crime rate has become a critical impediment to the country's economy, therefore necessitating the involvement of data analysts and scientists in extracting invaluable insights from crime data to proffer solutions towards crime prevention and regulation. To this end, this study presents a novel Particle Swarm-Cuckoo Search (PS-CS) optimization algorithm which leverages the potency of both particle swarm optimization and cuckoo search algorithms to enhance the optimization of network parameters and enable the training of deep neural networks for crime prediction. The proposed PS-CS model supersedes the traditional backpropagation algorithm which is fraught with limitations such as slow convergence and a proclivity for local optima. The implementation of the proposed model has the potential to be an efficacious tool for predicting crime rates in India, thus facilitating the efforts of law enforcement agencies in controlling and curbing criminal activities. We conducted a comprehensive and intricate evaluation of the efficacy of our proposed methodologies vis-à-vis the most pervasive and prevalent classification models currently in use. These models encompassed not only conventional machine learning techniques, such as Multiple Linear Regression, Support Vector Regression (SVR), Random Forest Regression, and Decision Trees, but also advanced and state-of-the-art deep learning models such as Residual Neural Network-152 (ResNet), Visual Geometry Group (VGG), and EfficienteNet-B7. Our findings evince that the suggested approach, PS-CS, in conjunction with CNN model, outperformed all other models, yielding an unparalleled accuracy score of 99.87%. By comparison, other models, including Multiple Linear Regression, SVR, Random Forest Regression, and Decision Trees, exhibited markedly inferior accuracy scores ranging from 80% to 95%. It is therefore evident that our proposed methodology, when integrated with a deep learning model, proves to be an exceedingly efficacious and robust solution for classification tasks. In this paper, we define a generalized C ́ i r i c contraction with respect to ℸ and prove some coupled coincidence best proximity point results in the setting of complete metric spaces. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the advancements made in understanding Iterative Fixed-Point Schemes, which builds upon the concept of digital contraction mappings. Additionally, we introduce the notion of an Iterative Fixed-Point Schemes in digital metric spaces. In this study, we extend the idea of Iteration process Mann, Ishikawa, Agarwal, and Thakur based on the ϝ-Stable Iterative Scheme in digital metric space. We also design some fractal images, which frame the compression of Fixed-Point Iterative Schemes and contractive mappings. Furthermore, we present a concrete example that exemplifies the motivation behind our investigations. We introduce a C' iric' type contraction principle in a vector-valued b-metric space that generalizes Perov's contraction principle. We investigate the possible conditions on the mappings W, E: G → G (G is a non-empty set), for which these mappings admit a unique common fixed point in G subject to a nonlinear operator F: Pm → Rm. We illustrate the hypothesis of our findings with examples. We consider an infectious disease model represented by the system of delay integrodifferential equations and apply the obtained fixed point theorem to show the existence of a solution to this model. The aim of this article is to investigate the relationship between integral-type contractions and the generalized dynamic process. The fixed-point results for multivalued mappings that satisfy both the integral Khan-type contraction and the integral θ -contraction are established in a complete metric space. This study presents a deep learning model for efficient intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) detection and subtype classification on non-contrast head computed tomography (CT) images. ICH refers to bleeding in the skull, leading to the most critical life-threatening health condition requiring rapid and accurate diagnosis. It is classified as intra-axial hemorrhage (intraventricular, intraparenchymal) and extra-axial hemorrhage (subdural, epidural, subarachnoid) based on the bleeding location inside the skull. Many computer-aided diagnoses (CAD)-based schemes have been proposed for ICH detection and classification at both slice and scan levels. However, these approaches performonly binary classification and suffer from a large number of parameters, which increase storage costs. Further, the accuracy of brain hemorrhage detection in existing models is significantly low for medically critical applications. To overcome these problems, a fast and efficient system for the automatic detection of ICH is needed. We designed a double-branch model based on xception architecture that extracts spatial and instant features, concatenates them, and creates the 3D spatial context (common feature vectors) fed to a decision tree classifier for final predictions. The data employed for the experimentation was gathered during the 2019 Radiologist Society of North America (RSNA) brain hemorrhage detection challenge. Our model outperformed benchmark models and achieved better accuracy in intraventricular (99.49%), subarachnoid (99.49%), intraparenchymal (99.10%), and subdural (98.09%) categories, thereby justifying the performance of the proposed double-branch xception architecture for ICH detection and classification. We consider the Banach space C [ 0 , 1 ] , which is a symmetric Banach space, and prove the existence and approximation of numerical solutions for a broad class of third-order BVPs. Our approach is based on an integral operator that is constructed using Green's function. The Banach contraction principle (BCP) is applied to guarantee a unique solution to our problem. Moreover, in order to find the value of the numerical solution, this new operator is embedded within the three-step Noor iterative scheme; we named this new iterative scheme the Noor–Green iterative scheme. We provide a convergence theorem for the proposed scheme by employing suitable restrictions on the parameters involved in the problem and in the scheme. The results of the stability of our scheme are also reported. It is worth mentioning that unlike the concept of stability in the classical sense, our result for stability is based on the concept of weak w 2 stability. In order to support our findings, we carried out various numerical experiments using different third-order BVPs. Finally, we report on the application of our iterative scheme to solve a class of fractional BVPs in the same symmetric Banach space. Objective: To compare the effectiveness of topical Proparacaine 0.5%, topical Proparacaine 0.5% and topical Proparacaine 0.5% for intraoperative analgesia and surgeon's score undergoing simple cataract surgery. Study Design: Quasi-experimental study. Place and Duration of Study: Department of Anaesthesia, Armed Forces Institute of Ophthalmology, Rawalpindi Pakistan, from Sep 2022 to Mar 2023. Methodology: Sixty patients aged 40 years and more, ASA-l and ll, undergoing elective simple cataract surgeries were observed by taking 20 patients in all three groups (n=20). Group-T: Topical Anesthesia group, 0.5% Proparacaine Group-I: Topical Anesthesia & Intracameral 1% Lignocaine Group-A: Topical Anesthesia and IV Acetaminophen groups were randomly allocated for pretreatment to either receive the 0.5% Proparacaine Eye drops (Group-T) or 0.5%Proparacaine eye drops with Intracameral 1ml 1% Lignocaine (I group) or 0.5% Proparacaine Eye drops with intravenous Acetaminophen 15ml/kg (A group). Incidence of pain by Visual analogue scale/wong-baker faces scale was noted. The surgeon's comfort was assessed by using Gupta's surgeon score questionnaire. Results: The results showed Group-I had better analgesic score than Group-T with only 1(5%) patient had a score of 4 but even more significant efficacy of intravenous acetaminophen plus topical anesthesia (Group-A) was shown as compared to rest of the groups with none (0%) patient had a VAS score of 4 (p-value=0.002). The results also showed Group-I had better surgeon comfort score than both Group-T and Group-A, with only 1(5%) patient had a score of 7 or above as compared to Group-T, 9(45%) patients and Group-A 7(35%) patients. Conclusion: Intravenous acetaminophen plus topical anesthesia is better at reducing perioperative pain scores as compared to topical anesthesia alone or augmented intracameral Lidocaine plus topical anesthesia. And intracameral 1% Lidocaine injection plus topical is better combination for surgeon comfort perioperative as compared to topical anesthesia and intravenous acetaminophen plus topical anesthesia. In this manuscript, we introduce the notions of fuzzy strong controlled metric spaces, fuzzy strong controlled quasi-metric spaces, and non-Archimedean fuzzy strong controlled quasi-metric spaces and generalize the famous Banach contraction principle. Objective: To compare effectiveness of Laryngeal mask airway versus endotracheal tube to evaluate post-operative sore throat and hoarseness of voice among anesthetized adults. Study Design: Prospective comparative study Place and Duration of Study: Operation Theatre Complex, Surgical Ward 1 and 2, Combined Military Hospital, Lahore Pakistan, from Jun to Oct 2020. Methodology: A total of 70 patients of both gender undergoing elective surgeries were included. Afterwards a lottery method was applied to segregate patients randomly into Group-L and Group-T. In Group-L, airway was secured with laryngeal mask airway while in Group-T, airway was secured with endotracheal tube. Hoarseness of voice was evaluated at time of extubation and 24 hours post extubation. Results: Demographic data was comparable in both groups. Mean time of anesthesia was 71.31±22.87 and 82.86±32.34 minutes for Group-L and Group-T respectively with p-value of 0.09. Sore throat was seen in 12(34.29%) patients in Group-L as compared to 19(51.43%) in Group-T (p-value=0.094). Hoarseness of voice was seen in 3(8.57%) patients in Group-L as compare to 13(37.14%) in Group-T (p-value= 0.005). Conclusion: There was less occurrence of postoperative sore throat and hoarseness of voice in patients undergoing elective surgery with laryngeal mask airway as compared with endotracheal tube. Objective: To compare motor and sensory blockade and hemodynamic effects of standard dose Bupivacaine versus low dose Bupivacaine mixed with Dexmedetomidine for spinal anesthesia in elderly male patients undergoing genitourinary surgery. Study Design: Prospective comparative study. Place and Duration of Study: Anesthesia Department Combined Military Hospital, Lahore Pakistan, from Sep 2019 to Feb 2020. Methodology: Hundred elderly male patients of American Society of Anesthesiology status-II undergoing surgery under spinal anesthesia were divided in two Groups. Group B (Bupivacaine Group) was given 11.25mg Bupivacaine and Group BD (Bupivacaine+Dexmedetomidine Group) received 7.5mg Bupivacaine and 5µg Dexmedetomidine intrathecally. Both Groups were given equal volume of 2ml. Results: Mean time for onset of sensory block for Group B and BD was 2.72±0.81 and 2.28±1.03 minutes respectively (p-value= 0.02). Mean time for onset of motor block for Group B and BD was 3.09±0.62 and 2.84±0.64 minutes respectively (p-value= 0.045). Mean duration of analgesia in Group B and BD was 171.87±10.19 and 187.60±18.42 minutes (p-value=0.01). Mean heart rate in Group B and BD was 80.04±5.51 and 75.68±6.11 beats/minutes (p-value=0.001). Mean arterial pressure's mean in Group B and BD was 62.78±78.13.49 and 87.96±10.15 (p-value=0.001). Conclusion: Onset of sensory and motor block was significantly shorter; analgesic effect was longer when Dexmedetomidine was combined with Bupivacaine for spinal anesthesia in comparison to Bupivacaine alone. The focus of this paper is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the advancements made in the understanding of Interpolative contraction, building upon the ideas initially introduced by Karapinar in 2018. In this paper, we develop the notion of Interpolative contraction mappings to the case of non-linear Kannan Interpolative, Riech Rus Ćirić interpolative and Hardy–Roger Interpolative contraction mappings based on controlled function, and prove some fixed point results in the context of controlled metric space, thereby enhancing the current understanding of this particular analysis. Furthermore, we provide a concrete example that illustrates the underlying drive for the investigations presented in this context. An application of the proposed non-linear Interpolative-contractions to the Liouville–Caputo fractional derivatives and fractional differential equations is provided in this paper. Introduction: Abdominal surgeries or laparotomies are standard procedures for the treatment of different acute gastrointestinal pathologies and gastric decompression is commonly used before the majority of such surgeries. Nasogastric tubes are commonly used in the normal routine of abdominal surgeries and to achieve normal bowel function it is kept post-operatively as well for at least a couple of days. Several surgeons prefer to employ gastric decompression as they consider that it can decrease the incidence of side effects of surgeries such as post-operative ileus, nausea, aspiration, vomiting, and anastomotic leakage. We recommend no nasogastric intubation after small bowel anastomosis as the mean hospital time and stay for passage of first flatus was less compared to the intubated group and also it does not affect the prevention of intestinal anastomotic leak. Objective: To compare mean hospital stay and mean time for passage of first flatus between post-operative nasogastric intubation with no intubation after small bowel anastomosis. Material and Methods: This Randomized controlled trial was conducted at departments of surgery in Lady Reading Hospital and Mercy Teaching Hospital Peshawar from 1st July 2020 to 30th June 2021 as part of an endeavor to do an RCT and included cases operated both in the government and private sector i.e., Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar and Mercy Teaching Hospital Peshawar. In this study, a total of 60 patients in each group were observed. All patients were randomly allocated into two groups by the Lottery method. Patients in group A were not subjected to post-operative nasogastric intubation while patients in group-B were subjected to post-operative nasogastric intubation for 24 hours. Results: Our study shows that in group-A (Non-nasogastric intubation) mean age was 42 years with SD±0.76, whereas in group-B (nasogastric intubation) mean age was 44 years with SD±9.11. In group-A (Non-nasogastric intubation) 55% of patients were male and 45% of patients were female. Whereas in group-B (Non-nasogastric intubation) 52% of patients were male and 48% of patients were female. Group-A (Non-nasogastric intubation), mean hospital stay was 4 days±3.12 and the meantime to pass first flatus was 38 hours±7.42. Where as group-B (nasogastric intubation), mean hospital stay was 7 days±2.91 and the meantime to pass first flatus was 42 hours±8.57. Conclusion: We concludes that mean hospital stay and mean time to pass flatus is less with no nasogastric intubation compared to nasogastric intubation after small bowel anastomosis. In this article, we introduce (Ψ , Φ) -orthogonal interpolative contractions which generalize orthogonal interpolative contractions. We investigate different conditions on the functions Ψ , Φ : (0 , ∞) → (− ∞ , ∞) to show the existence of fixed-points of set-valued (Ψ , Φ) -orthogonal interpolative contractions. The aim of this manuscript is to prove some new fixed-point results for the two families of multivalued dominated-contractive maps defined on a closed ball in a complete multiplicative-metric space. The fixed-point theorems for multigraph-dominated maps are established. We also investigate the existence of fixed points of the two families of graphic contractions in a multiplicative-metric space. For illustration, an example is provided to clarify that the hypothesis of the obtained result is valid. This study aimed to investigate the correlation between disordered eating patterns, psychological distress, and social self-esteem among university students in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The study included University Students as participants and it utilized a correlational cross-sectional research design. The data collection involved administering a series of questionnaires, which included the Social Self Esteem Scale (SSES), Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire (EDE-Q), and DASS-21 (Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale). The study adhered to ethical considerations in a rigorous manner. The results indicated a statistically significant and positive correlation between psychological distresses and disordered eating behaviors. Furthermore, a notable inverse relationship was identified between psychological distress and social self-esteem, as well as between psychological distress and disordered eating behaviors. The findings of this study carry significant implications for the design and implementation of targeted interventions aimed at promoting the mental and physical well-being of college students. Additionally, these results may contribute to the development of educational initiatives that seek to prevent the emergence and advancement of eating disorders within this susceptible group. Limitations of the study include the utilization of a cross-sectional design and the limited representativeness of the sample. These factors should be taken into account in future research endeavors. In this research, we establish some new fixed-point results for a symmetric coupled dominated fuzzy mapping satisfying a new advanced contraction on a closed ball in the setting of complete fuzzy metric spaces. In addition, the new notion of hybrid fuzzy-graph-dominated mappings introduced in fuzzy metric spaces achieves some new advanced fuzzy fixed-point problems. Some new definitions and illustrative examples are given to validate our new findings. A tool Smart Glazing Simulator (SGLSim), has been developed to perform parametric simulation analysis of different window systems with several window-to-wall ratios and orientations to compute and compare the annual energy performance. The net annual energy performance of the building is based on the electricity consumption in heating, cooling, interior lighting, and appliances, along with the electricity generation by the photovoltaic (PV) glazing, which is used to evaluate the energy performance of smart glazing. Performing parametric energy simulations and calculating the net annual electricity consumption of different combinations requires building modeling and energy simulation expertise. A web-based parametric tool can assist the user in carrying out the desired studies without requiring extensive technical knowledge. A case study is prepared for India's warm and humid climatic zone. This study examines the benefits of double pane semi-transparent photovoltaics (STPV) glazing, STPV glazing with dynamic internal blind, and electrochromic (EC) glazing over other traditional glazing systems. The study shows that the optimal net annual electricity consumption in the case of STPV windows is 10–12% less than the optimal value obtained in a simple glazing case. Additionally, the result suggested that glare-controlled interior blinds in the STPV window further reduce the net annual electricity consumption by up to 15% compared to conventional glazing. In the present paper the concepts of q-rung orthopair fuzzy mappings (q-ROF mapping) and q-rung (α , β) -cuts are introduced. Some common fixed point results for q-ROF mappings are presented in b-metric spaces using Suzuki-type contractive conditions. Examples in support of obtained results are also presented. We have also presented an application of our result for the existence of solution of nonlinear fractional integral inclusion. Objective: To compare blunting of hemodynamic stress response to intubation using Magnesium Sulphate versus Lidocaine in hypertensive patients. Study Design: Prospective comparative study. Place and Duration of Study: Anaesthesia Department Combined Military Hospital, Lahore Pakistan, from Jan to Jun 2019. Methodology: A total of 232 hypertensive patients of the ASA status II, undergoing elective surgical procedures requiring intubation, were randomly divided into two groups, Group-L (Lidocaine) and Group-M (Magnesium Sulphate). Lidocaine 1.5mg/kg was given to Group-L 90 seconds before laryngoscopy, whereas Magnesium Sulphate 30mg/kg was given over ten minutes to Group-M before laryngoscopy. Baseline means arterial pressure was recorded. Mean arterial pressure was subsequently recorded each minute after intubation for five minutes. Results: Both groups were similar with regard to demographic data. After intubation, both groups had an increase in mean arterial pressures. Blunting of stress response was observed in 78 patients (67.2%) in Group-L and 55 patients (47.4%) in Group-M. Two groups showed a significant statistical difference (p=0.003). Conclusion: Both drugs are effective in blunting hemodynamic stress response to intubation in hypertensive patients, but Lidocaine is more effective than Magnesium Sulphate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this manuscript, we defined (α, F)-contractions in the context of double-controlled metric spaces and partially ordered double-controlled metric spaces. We established new fixed-point results and defined the notion of double-controlled metric space on a Reich-type contraction. Our findings are generalizations of a few well-known findings in the literature. Some non-trivial examples and certain consequences are also provided to illustrate the significance of the presented results. The existence and uniqueness of the solution of non-linear fractional differential equations and the monotone iterative method are also determined using the fixed-point method. In this study, inspired by the concept of B-metric-like space (BMLS), we introduce the concept of orthogonal B-metric-like space (OBMLS) via a hybrid pair of operators. Additionally, we establish the concept of orthogonal dynamic system (ODS) as a generalization of the dynamic system (DS), which improves the existing results for analysies such as those presented here. By applying this, some new refinements of the F ⊥ -Suzuki-type ( F ⊥ -ST) fixed-point results are presented. In this article, we develop a faster iteration method, called the A ∗ ∗ iteration method, for approximating the fixed points of almost contraction mappings and generalized α -nonexpansive mappings. We establish some weak and strong convergence results of the A ∗ ∗ iteration method for fixed points of generalized α -nonexpansive mappings in uniformly convex Banach spaces. We provide a numerical example to illustrate the efficiency of our new iteration method. The weak w 2 -stability result of the new iteration method is also studied. As an application of our main results, we approximate the solution of a fractional Volterra–Fredholm integro-differential equation. The idea of best proximity points of the fuzzy mappings in fuzzy metric space was intorduced by Vetro and Salimi. We introduce a new type of proximal contractive condition that ensures the existence of best proximity points of fuzzy mappings in the fuzzy complete metric spaces. We establish certain best proximity point theorems for such proximal contractions. We improve and generalize the fuzzy proximal contractions by introducing Ψ , Φ -fuzzy proximal contractions and Ψ , Φ -fuzzy proximal interpolative contractions. Introduction: Abdominal surgeries or laparotomies are standard procedures for the treatment of different acute gastrointestinal pathologies and gastric decompression is commonly used before the majority of such surgeries. Nasogastric tubes are commonly used in the normal routine of abdominal surgeries and to achieve normal bowel function it is kept post-operatively as well for at least a couple of days. Several surgeons prefer to employ gastric decompression as they consider that it can decrease the incidence of side effects of surgeries such as post-operative ileus, nausea, aspiration, vomiting, and anastomotic leakage. We recommend no nasogastric intubation after small bowel anastomosis as the mean hospital time and stay for passage of first flatus was less compared to the intubated group and also it does not affect the prevention of intestinal anastomotic leak. Objective: To compare mean hospital stay and mean time for passage of first flatus between post-operative nasogastric intubation with no intubation after small bowel anastomosis. Material and Methods: This Randomized controlled trial was conducted at departments of surgery in Lady Reading Hospital and Mercy Teaching Hospital Peshawar from 1st July 2020 to 30th June 2021 as part of an endeavor to do an RCT and included cases operated both in the government and private sector i.e., Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar and Mercy Teaching Hospital Peshawar. In this study, a total of 60 patients in each group were observed. All patients were randomly allocated into two groups by the Lottery method. Patients in group A were not subjected to post-operative nasogastric intubation while patients in group-B were subjected to post-operative nasogastric intubation for 24 hours. Results: Our study shows that in group-A (Non-nasogastric intubation) mean age was 42 years with SD±0.76, whereas in group-B (nasogastric intubation) mean age was 44 years with SD±9.11. In group-A (Non-nasogastric intubation) 55% of patients were male and 45% of patients were female. Whereas in group-B (Non-nasogastric intubation) 52% of patients were male and 48% of patients were female. Group-A (Non-nasogastric intubation), mean hospital stay was 4 days±3.12 and the meantime to pass first flatus was 38 hours±7.42. Where as group-B (nasogastric intubation), mean hospital stay was 7 days±2.91 and the meantime to pass first flatus was 42 hours±8.57. Conclusion:We concludes that mean hospital stay and mean time to pass flatus is less with no nasogastric intubation compared to nasogastric intubation after small bowel anastomosis. Background: Adhesive capsulitis is a condition that presents with pain and progressive limitation of both active and passive shoulder movements. It can be primary or secondary, the latter includes causes such as rotator cuff tear, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes mellitus. The American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons defines that adhesive capsulitis is a condition of uncertain ethology characterized by a significant restriction of both active and passive shoulder motions that occur in the absence of known intrinsic shoulder disorder. Commonly described as: Stage 1 – Freezing stage, with pain and stiffness lasting around 9 months. Stage 2 – Frozen stage, with persistent stiffness lasting 4–12 months. Stage 3 – Thawing stage, with spontaneous recovery lasting 12–42 months. Ultrasonography (USG)-guided hydrodissection is used for adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder due to its cost-effectiveness and acceptance among patients. As adhesive capsulitis is postulated as an i nflammatory and fibrotic disease, easy treatment with intra-articular corticosteroids (CSs) injection may reduce synovitis, limit the development of capsular fibrosis, and alter the natural history of disease. CS injections are effective for shorter duration, but newer agents such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) are more effective with no serious side effects. Materials and Methods: In this study, 40 patients were taken of adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder and were divided randomly into two groups. One group received injection PRP and the other group received injection CS. The outcome was recorded. Results: There was a statistically significant reduction in numeric rating scale pain scores in both the groups over a time period of 6 weeks, but the PRP injection was observed to be better in reducing the pain scores when compared to the CS injection after the 6th week (P = 0.037). Initially, the CS injection performed better in the 1st week due to anti-inflammatory action. By the 3rd week, both the injections showed a similar effect. However, at the end of the study period (6 weeks), there was a better reduction in the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) pain scores (P = 0.0057) and SPADI disability scores (P = 0.029) of the group PRP. Conclusion: We concluded that USG-guided hydrodissection with PRP is more effective therapy than CS in terms of reduction of pain and improvement in shoulder function in the treatment of adhesive capsulitis of shoulder. Objective: To determine factors responsible for anxiety in children and parents undergoing dental procedures under general anaesthesia. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Department of Anaesthesia, CMH Lahore Medical College, from Sep 2019 to Feb 2020. Methodology: Ninety-one children aged between 3 to 10 years were included in this study. Parental anxiety was assessed using a visual analogue scale-anxiety before induction of anaesthesia, and child's anxiety was assessed using the modified facial affective scale (3-face) at the time of induction of anaesthesia. Results: Gender, school-going status and previous exposure to GA were not significant factors in predicting pre-operative anxiety in children with p-values of 0.399, 0.183 and 0.122, respectively. On the other hand, parental anxiety had a very strong impact on children pre-operative anxiety (p-value = 0.001), suggesting that children of anxious parents had high pre-operative anxiety. Moreover, the personality of child also had statistical significance (p-value = 0.001). Conclusion: Non-social behavior of the child and the anxiety level of parents are major determinants of pre-operative anxiety in children undergoing dental procedures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The authors generalize the notion of θ-contractions to the case of nonlinear θ b -contraction mappings and prove multi-valued fixed point theorems based on the b-Bianchini–Grandolfi gauge function in b-metric spaces. In this paper, the theory of symmetric q-calculus and conic regions are used to define a new subclass of q-starlike functions involving a certain conic domain. By means of this newly defined domain, a new subclass of normalized analytic functions in the open unit disk E is given. Certain properties of this subclass, such as its structural formula, necessary and sufficient conditions, coefficient estimates, Fekete–Szegö problem, distortion inequalities, closure theorem and subordination results, are investigated.
