Background: Current literature has sparse recommendations that guide social networking practices in plastic surgery. To address this, we used natural language processing and sentiment analysis to investigate the differences in plastic surgery-related terms and hashtags on Twitter. Methods: Over 1 million tweets containing keywords #plasticsurgery, #cosmeticsurgery, and their non-hashtagged versions plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery were collected from the Twitter Gardenhose feed spanning from 2012 to 2016. We extracted the average happiness/positivity (h-avg) using hedonometrics and created word-shift graphs to determine influential words. Results: The most popular keywords were plastic and cosmetic surgery, comprising more than 90% of the sample. The positivity scores for plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, #plasticsurgery, and #cosmeticsurgery were 5.72, 6.00, 6.17, and 6.18, respectively. Compared to plastic surgery, the term cosmetic surgery was more positive because it lacked antagonistic words, such as "fake," "ugly," "bad," "fails," and "wrong." For similar reasons, #plasticsurgery and #cosmeticsurgery were more positively associated than their non-hashtagged counterparts. Conclusion: Plastic surgery-related hashtags are more positively associated than their non-hashtagged versions. The language associated with such hashtags suggests a different user profile than the public and, given their underutilization, remain viable channels for professionals to achieve their diverse social media goals. Introduction: Daily phlebotomy is often a standard procedure in hospitalized patients. Recently, this practice has begun receiving attention as a potential target for efforts focused on eliminating overuse. Several organizations have published their efforts in this arena. Interventions have included education, feedback, and changes to computerized provider order entry (CPOE) but have yielded mixed results. Methods: A quality improvement initiative to reduce the utilization of daily phlebotomy was conducted at a 505-bed Academic Medical Center. This project involved a combination of educational interventions and changes to CPOE. The primary end point evaluated was the daily performance of complete blood counts (CBCs) and basic metabolic profiles (BMPs) on medical and surgery units relative to the corresponding hospital census. Results: Over the course of this project from August 1, 2013, to September 23, 2016, there was a 15.2% reduction in CBCs (p <.001 for linear trend) and 13.1% reduction in BMPs. Discussion: Our results suggest that layering multimodal interventions that involve both "hard-wired" changes to CPOE and education and performance feedback can result in decreased utilization of phlebotomy. Fire and rescue service personnel can experience high levels of exposure to both occupational and post-traumatic stress, with the interplay between these generating a range of complex stress responses. The nature and cultural context of fire service work can, in turn, impact the take up and effectiveness of stress interventions. The development of appropriate processes for the prevention of, and responses to, stress exposure is therefore a crucial managerial issue. Health Impact Assessment (HIA) is a relatively new, but increasingly important, contributor to both local and national decision-making processes. Adopting a multi-method approach, it incorporates qualitative and quantitative analyses to determine the various health impacts of policies and projects. HIA thus reflects recent developments in sociological theory, which have promoted qualitative techniques and challenged the dominance of quantitative methods. HIA embodies a particular renegotiation of the qualitative/quantitative opposition; each individual HIA represents an empirical instance of this renegotiation. As such, HIA can be conceptualized as a kind of ‘political space’, in which the opposition in question is structured by various social forces and plays out in concrete ways. Moreover, and notwithstanding the supposed methodological rapprochement, an analysis of a number of HIAs claims to expose a continuing, but perhaps unsurprising, privilege in favour of quantitative methods. In the first place, the paper contends that closer examination reveals this privileging to be unjustified, both empirically and theoretically, and alternative methodological and epistemological configurations are suggested accordingly. Specific gestures are made in this respect toward the work of Martin Heidegger and Jacques Derrida. In particular, the paper argues for a broad hermeneutic approach that both encompasses and situates the methodological tensions HIA stages. Second, attention is drawn to the fact that various and particular sociopolitical conditions maintain the characteristic architecture of the opposition. The political importance of HIA across a series of key issues is underscored in support of a more radical interpretation. For once situated within its wider cultural context, HIA ceases to resemble some straightforwardly neutral technology for health protection and delivery. If, instead, one reads it as an indicative micropolitical phenomenon, then one can begin to interrogate this simple policy tool in more complex ways. HIA both reveals, and is implicated in, a more fundamental and diffuse process that is presently resisting, undermining and regenerating traditional power distributions within the administration of health and beyond. This paper documents part of a larger qualitative study of the way Health and Safety personnel in one region of the UK view people with mental illness and people with learning difficulties. The paper focusses on Environmental Health Officers' (EHOs) attitudes to mental ill health and their use of language, experiences shaping that use, and consequences for action arising from their understanding and attributed meaning. Findings suggest that the medical model of health and mental ill health is prevalent; that there is still ignorance and stereotypical thinking; and that personal experience (either of self or other) seems to be the best indicator of breadth of thought and knowledge on this topic. Most EHOs saw their own involvement as peripheral and the issue as something to be managed within the employment environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article focuses on a study reviewed injuries resulting from the attenuated energy projectile (AEP) in patients who presented to emergency departments after getting involved in serious public disorder and riot in Northern Ireland from July to September 2005. Patient records were obtained from emergency departments and a total of 14 records showed injuries related to AEP, including closed mandibular fracture, neck haematoma and bone fractures. The study attributed the death of 14 patients to bullets which caused head or chest trauma.
