D‐amino acid oxidase (DAAO)‐catalyzed selective oxidative deamination is a very promising process for synthesizing l‐amino acids including l‐phosphinothricin (l‐PPT, a high‐efficiency and broad‐spectrum herbicide). However, the wild‐type DAAO's low activity toward unnatural substrates like d‐phosphinothricin (d‐PPT) hampers its application. Herein, a DAAO from Caenorhabditis elegans (CeDAAO) was screened and engineered to improve the catalytic potential on d‐PPT. First, we designed a novel growth selection system, taking into account the intricate relationship between the growth of Escherichia coli (E. coli) and the catalytic mechanism of DAAO. The developed system was used for high‐throughput screening of gene libraries, resulting in the discovery of a variant (M6) with significantly increased catalytic activity against d‐PPT. The variant displays different catalytic properties on substrates with varying hydrophobicity and hydrophilicity. Analysis using Alphafold2 modeling and molecular dynamic simulations showed that the reason for the enhanced activity was the substrate‐binding pocket with enlarged size and suitable charge distribution. Further QM/MM calculations revealed that the crucial factor for enhancing activity lies in reducing the initial energy barrier of the reductive half reaction. Finally, a comprehensive binding‐model index to predict the enhanced activity of DAAO toward d‐PPT, and an enzymatic deracemization approach was developed, enabling the efficient synthesis of l‐PPT with remarkable efficiency. Objective: Occlusal reconstruction is a critical intervention for patients with dental hard tissue defects, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, and jaw position abnormalities. Clinical efficiency and outcomes of these procedures have improved with advances in digital technologies. This case report aims to illustrate a comprehensive digital workflow for occlusal reconstruction in a patient with congenital dentition defects, emphasizing the application of digital technologies to enhance treatment outcomes. Clinical considerations: A 28‐year‐old woman with previously installed porcelain‐fused‐to‐metal bridge restorations presented with a fractured prosthesis and TMJ symptoms. A multidisciplinary approach was adopted involving the use of digital facebow, intraoral scanners, digital smile design, and CAD/CAM technologies. The process included the extraction of defective restorations, temporary restorations to refine jaw position, and final permanent restorations. The digital workflow facilitated precise diagnostics and treatment, culminating in the successful installation of permanent restorations. Regular follow‐ups at one‐ and three‐months post‐treatment confirmed stable occlusal function and high patient satisfaction. Conclusions: This case report showcases the potential of multiple digital technologies to streamline complex dental treatments and achieve high‐quality results. This paper establishes a high-fidelity and efficient Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) numerical method (AL-LDS-nnew) for wind turbine wake by combining the actuator line (AL), the localized dynamic Smagorinsky (LDS) sub-grid scale (SGS), and the new generation nnew vortex identification method under the framework of large eddy simulation. The model advantages are encouraging: 1) In terms of turbine modeling, the AL model is adopted to replace the traditional threedimensional solid model, which avoids solving the boundary layer on the blade surface and improves computational efficiency; 2) In terms of wake simulation, the LDS SGS model is used to model turbulence, reducing vortex dissipation and further improving the refinement of turbine wake; 3) In terms of vortex identification, the new generation nnew vortex identification method avoids the difficult threshold selection in previous vortex identification and captures more refined vortex structures. The accuracy of the model is validated against published data of a NREL 5 MW wind turbine, and then extended to simulate the wake interference of tandem twin-rotor turbines by changing the pitch angle of the upstream wind turbine (WT1). The influence mechanisms between array wake interference and energy conversion efficiency under the pitch strategy are explored, demonstrating the AL-LDS-finew coupling method is computationally accurate and efficient for simulating the complex wake interference. From analyses, the pitch strategy can effectively suppress the wake effect of the upstream turbine (WT1) and increase the power output of the downstream turbine (WT2), thus improving the overall output power of the array farm. Compared with the non-pitch condition (0 pitch angle), a pitch angle of (2°) maximizes the global energy conversion efficiency of the twin-rotor array: power augmentation by 0.29%, and thrust reduction by 5%. This optimal state reduces the fatigue load of the turbine and is more conducive to long-term operation. AlGaN-based light-emitting diodes (LEDs) operating in the deep-ultraviolet (DUV) spectral range (210–280 nm) have demonstrated potential applications in physical sterilization. However, the poor external quantum efficiency (EQE) hinders further advances in the emission performance of AlGaN-based DUV LEDs. Here, we demonstrate the performance of 270-nm AlGaN-based DUV LEDs beyond the state-of-the-art by exploiting the innovative combination of bandgap engineering and device craft. By adopting tailored multiple quantum wells (MQWs), a reflective Al reflector, a low-optical-loss tunneling junction (TJ) and a dielectric SiO2 insertion structure (IS-SiO2), outstanding light output powers (LOPs) of 140.1 mW are achieved in our DUV LEDs at 850 mA. The EQEs of our DUV LEDs are 4.5 times greater than those of their conventional counterparts. This comprehensive approach overcomes the major difficulties commonly faced in the pursuit of high-performance AlGaN-based DUV LEDs, such as strong quantum-confined Stark effect (QCSE), severe optical absorption in the p-electrode/ohmic contact layer and poor transverse magnetic (TM)-polarized light extraction. Furthermore, the on-wafer electroluminescence characterization validated the scalability of our DUV LEDs to larger production scales. In this study, a novel screening approach is presented, merging capillary electrophoresis analysis with an enzymatic assay employing immobilized α-glucosidase. A metal–organic framework composite membrane was devised for α-glucosidase immobilization. Employing polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) as the substrate material, it was functionalized with dopamine, creating a polydopamine composite layer. This layer acted as a covalent linker, anchoring Zn2+, which subsequently chelated with the organic ligand 2-ethylimidazole, leading to the self-assembly of a three-dimensional porous framework ZIF-8. This structure facilitated the in situ encapsulation of α-glucosidase. Characterization techniques including scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared-attenuated total reflectance spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction validated the composite material's structure. A thorough investigation of various parameters affecting immobilization was conducted. The immobilized α-glucosidase exhibited enhanced pH tolerance, thermal stability, and remarkable reusability, retaining 79.3% of its original activity over 10 cycles, with a batch-to-batch reproducibility of 5.9% (n = 5). Its Michaelis–Menten constant (Km) was determined to be 2.85 mM. Application of this immobilized enzyme in screening potential inhibitors from 13 traditional Chinese medicines revealed Sanguisorba radix as the most potent inhibitor. Temperature can reflect vital activities, and researchers have attempted to guide Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment by observing acupoint temperature changes. Integrating a temperature sensor at the needle tip enables in situ acupoint temperature measurement. However, the sensor needles for acupoint temperature monitoring designed in previous studies were fabricated by manually soldering thermistor beads and metal wires, making mass production difficult. In this work, using MEMS manufacturing technology, a flexible temperature sensor that can be integrated at the needle tip is proposed and can be mass-produced on silicon wafers. The sensor uses a Pt thermistor as the temperature-sensing element and has a slender flexible structure with dimensions of 125 μm width by 3.2 cm length. As the sensor is inserted into a hollow needle, the Pt thermistor is glued to the needle tip. In the temperature range of 30 °C to 50 °C, the fabricated temperature sensor has a sensitivity of 5.00 Ω∙°C−1, a nonlinearity of ±0.39%FS, and a repeatability error of ±2.62%FS. Additionally, the sensor has been applied to in vivo acupoint temperature monitoring experiments in rats and demonstrated good performance, suggesting its promise for future research on acupoint temperature. Key Clinical Message: In addition to post‐transplant lymphoproliferative disorders, it is necessary to be alert to the drug‐resistant bacteria or fungal infection, especially Talaromyces marneffei, in kidney transplant patients who have failed antibiotic treatment and whose PET‐CT indicates high metabolic mass in the transplanted kidney with a large number of other organs and lymph nodes. Talaromyces marneffei (TM) is a rare pathogenic fungus that primarily affects individuals with compromised immune systems. Post‐transplant lymphoproliferative disorders (PTLD) are serious complications that can occur after solid organ and cell transplantation. Both TM infection and PTLD can invade the monocyte–macrophage system and often manifest as extranodal masses. This case report describes a kidney transplant patient who presented with symptoms of frequent, urgent, and painful urination over 6 months. Pulmonary CT scans revealed multiple nodules, and PET‐CT demonstrated enlarged lymph nodes in the lungs and the transplanted kidney. The clinical manifestations closely mimicked those of PTLD. The confirmation of TM was achieved through pathogen metagenomic next‐generation sequencing and renal biopsy. Unfortunately, despite receiving treatment with antifungal agents, anti‐infective therapy, the patient's condition did not respond favorably, ultimately resulting in their unfortunate demise due to COVID‐19. Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a highly heterogeneous tumor lacking estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) expression. It has higher aggressiveness and metastasis than other subtypes, with limited effective therapeutic strategies, leading to a poor prognosis. The phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (AKT)/mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway is prevalently over-activated in human cancers and contributes to breast cancer (BC) growth, survival, proliferation, and angiogenesis, which could be an interesting therapeutic target. This review summarizes the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway activation mechanism in TNBC and discusses the relationship between its activation and various TNBC subtypes. We also report the latest clinical studies on kinase inhibitors related to this pathway for treating TNBC. The highly loaded design method of helium compressors can effectively solve the difficulty in compressing helium in High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactors (HTGR). But it also causes obviously different attack angle characteristics of blade surface loads in a highly loaded helium compressor compared to air compressors. This difference inevitably affects separation characteristics and flow loss within the compressor. In the current study, the effects of highly loaded design methods and changes in attack angle on the separation characteristics of the compressor cascade are analyzed by applying a numerical simulation method first. Then, the influence of Mach number on the loss characteristics of the cascade for a highly loaded helium compressor is systematically analyzed. Finally, the effect of differences in the material properties of working fluid on the separation characteristics is discussed. The results indicate that the proportion of secondary flow loss to the total loss in highly loaded compressor cascades is 2.46 times larger than that in conventionally loaded ones. While the properties of working fluid have an effect on the performance of the compressor cascade, their effects on the weight factor of vortex loss are highly limited. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aimed to explore the prevalence of prenatal depression and to determine the dyadic relationship between perceived stress, marital satisfaction, and prenatal depression in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and their partners. GDM during pregnancy is a very stressful event for couples. However, previous studies have largely focused on pregnant women, with few including their partners. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Guangzhou, China, from 30 July to 2 December 2021. Three hundred fourteen couples with GDM completed the Perceived Stress Scale, Locke–Wallace Marital Adjustment Scale, and Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale. Dyadic analysis was conducted using the actor–partner interdependence mediation model. The prevalence of depressive symptoms was 13.4% in pregnant women with GDM and 8.3% in their partners. Regarding the actor effects, perceived stress was positively associated with prenatal depression in pregnant women with GDM and their partners, respectively, and marital satisfaction acted as a mediating role. Regarding the partner effects, paternal perceived stress was negatively associated with maternal marital satisfaction, and maternal marital satisfaction mediated the association between paternal perceived stress and maternal prenatal depression. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of using computed tomography (CT) attenuation values to differentiate hypodense brain lesions, specifically acute ischemic stroke (AIS) from asymmetric leukoaraiosis (LA) and old cerebral infarction (OCI). Materials and methods: This retrospective study included patients with indeterminate hypodense lesions identified via brain CT scans conducted between June 2019 and June 2021. All lesions were confirmed through head MRI/diffusion-weighted imaging within 48 h after CT. CT attenuation values of hypodense lesions and symmetrical control regions were measured. Additionally, CT attenuation value difference (ΔHU) and ratio (RatioHU) were calculated. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to compare age and CT parameters (CT attenuation values, ΔHU and RatioHU) across the groups. Finally, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis was performed to determine the cutoff values for distinguishing hypodense lesions. Results: A total of 167 lesions from 146 patients were examined. The CT attenuation values for AIS(n = 39), LA(n = 53), and OCI(n = 75) were 18.90 ± 6.40 HU, 17.53 ± 4.67 HU, and 11.90 ± 5.92 HU, respectively. The time interval between symptom onset and CT scans for AIS group was 32.21 ± 26.85 h. ANOVA revealed significant differences among the CT parameters of the hypodense lesion groups (all P < 0.001). The AUC of CT values, ΔHU, and RatioHU for distinguishing AIS from OCI were 0.802, 0.896 and 0.878, respectively (all P < 0.001). Meanwhile, the AUC for distinguishing OCI from LA was 0.789, 0.883, and 0.857, respectively (all P < 0.001). Nevertheless, none of the parameters could distinguish AIS from LA. Conclusion: CT attenuation parameters can be utilized to differentiate between AIS and OCI or OCI and LA in indeterminate hypodense lesions on CT images. Grid-forming control is a promising solution for renewable power integration. This work presents a variable pairing scheme for the voltage controller of V/f controlled modular multilevel converter in an islanded network with a synchronous machine, which is a special type of grid-forming control. Based on the concept of the relative gain array (RGA), it is found that the RGA can be derived using steady-state sensitivity analysis. Then, the steady-state characteristics of the typical electrical components in the islanded network are considered, and the analytical expression for calculating the RGA is derived. Based on a typical system, a variable pairing scheme is then suggested using the calculated RGA elements. The regulation of surface active sites and structures is a key factor affecting the performance of photocatalysts. In order to prepare monodisperse anatase TiO2 mesoporous microspheres with higher specific surface area, smaller pore size and particle size, a dual‐surfactant orientation assembly method was selected. Graphene (NG) was selected as a cocatalyst to compound with mesoporous TiO2 and nickel doping was performed on the cocatalyst to improve the photocatalytic hydrogen production activity of the semiconductor photocatalyst. Through proper regulation and rational design, the semiconductor photocatalyst with desired properties was prepared. SEM characterization of mesoporous titanium dioxide (TiO2/Ni‐NG) with graphene cocatalyst proved that TiO2 nanospheres have good monodispersion, and TiO2 nanospheres are well supported on graphene cocatalyst. The composite material belonged to mesoporous group with the pore size being mainly distributed between 10–20 nm. The loading of graphene and Ni‐NG cocatalyst increased the absorption band edge by 9 nm and 38 nm, respectively, and the band gap decreased by 0.07 eV and 0.16 eV, respectively. The selection of graphene as cocatalyst improved the hydrogen production activity of photocatalyst and nickel doping was very effective in the modification of graphene. For reaction time of 2.5 h, the H2 production of TiO2/Ni‐NG material reached 1.767 mmol/g which was 7.27 times that of TiO2/NG composite material. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

It is well known that Particulate Matter2.5 (PM2.5) has a major adverse effect on the organism. However, the health hazards of livestock farm PM2.5 to humans and animals are not yet known, and the role of miRNAs in the cellular damage induced by livestock farm PM2.5 is also unclear. Therefore, our study used cowshed PM2.5 to stimulate rat alveolar macrophage NR8383 to construct an in vitro injury model to investigate the effect of miR–122–5p on PM2.5-induced apoptosis in the NR8383. The level of apoptosis was quantified by flow cytometry and Hoechst 33342/PI double staining. Furthermore, the potential target gene Collagen type IV alpha (COL4A1) of miR–122–5p was identified through the use of bioinformatics methods. The results demonstrated a decline in cell viability and an increase in apoptosis with rising PM2.5 concentrations and exposure durations. The transfection of miR–122–5p mimics resulted in an upregulation of the pro-apoptotic protein Bcl–xL/Bcl–2 and activation of cleaved caspase–3 while inhibiting the anti-apoptotic protein B–cell lymphoma–2. The experimental data indicate that miR–122–5p is involved in the apoptotic process by targeting COL4A1. Furthermore, the overexpression of COL4A1 was observed to enhance the PM2.5-activated PI3K/AKT/NF–κB signaling pathway, which contributed to the inhibition of apoptosis. In the context of large-scale wind power access to the power system, it is urgent to explore new probabilistic supply–demand analysis methods. This paper proposes a wind power stochastic and extreme scenario generation method considering wind power–temperature correlations and carries out probabilistic supply–demand balance analysis based on it. Firstly, the influence of temperature on wind power output is analyzed via Pearson coefficient to obtain the correlation between wind power and temperature. Secondly, based on the historical wind power curve, a large number of wind power output scenarios are randomly generated while fully preserving its characteristics, and probabilistic supply–demand analysis is carried out. Thirdly, for the extreme case of continuous multi-day extreme heat without wind, extreme scenarios are selected from the generated scenarios for supply–demand balance analysis. Finally, a practical example in a province in central-eastern China is used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results indicate that the scenario generation method can effectively capture the historical wind power characteristics and can be better applied to the diversified supply and demand balance analysis to obtain more accurate analysis results. The one-loop contributions to the flavor-changing neutral current decays of the top quark into a light quark and a gauge boson or Higgs boson, namely, t → q V , q h , with q being u or c, and V being γ , g, or Z, are analyzed in this study within the framework of the minimal R-symmetric supersymmetric standard model. The charginos in this model have been separated into two sets, i.e. χ -chargino and ρ -chargino. The numerical results reveal that gluino or ρ -chargino predominantly dictate the predictions for BR (t → q V , q h), while the impact of neutralino or χ -chargino contributions is insignificant. By incorporating the constraints imposed by the squark mixing parameters from B ̄ → X s γ and B d , s 0 → μ + μ − , the theoretical predictions for BR(t → q g) can be significantly augmented to approximately (1 0 − 5 − 1 0 − 6). On the other hand, the values of BR(t → q γ , q Z , q h) are predicted to be at least four orders of magnitude below the current experimental limits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Biochar is a nature-based green solution to lift soil carbon storage and mitigate carbon release. Here, we propose a novel concept of biochar carbon pump (BCP) that bridges microbial carbon pump (MCP) and mineral carbon pump (MnCP), facilitating effective carbon sequestration. The BCP functions to promote carbon storage by introducing biochar-derived persistent C into soil, enhancing negative priming effects, altering soil microbial communities, and reinforcing organo-organic and organo-mineral interactions. Recognizing the value of BCP in bridging MCP and MnCP to facilitate diverse natural reactions for soil carbon sequestration is particularly significant in addressing climate change. The emergence of III‐nitride semiconductors has established a solid foundation for the development of high‐efficiency optoelectronic devices, particularly for light‐emitting diodes (LEDs). However, the efficiency improvement for LEDs is typically restricted by hole injection and optical loss. The incorporation of tunnel junction (TJ) into structure of LEDs has arisen as a promising solution to overcome these challenges while providing additional features, such as electrical contacts, current confinement, and novel controllability in band engineering. Herein, recent progress in the development of III‐nitride TJ LEDs is reviewed. It is started with an explanation of the working principles of TJ and several approaches for enhancing the tunneling probability of TJ are discussed. Subsequently, the most popular techniques for TJ fabrication are summarized and critical issues involved in these processes are discussed. Moreover, applications of TJ in UV LEDs, cascaded LEDs, and micro‐LEDs are highlighted. Finally, an outlook on potential prospects of TJ for the development of high‐performance LEDs is presented. Flexible regulation of bandgap of perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) is fundamentally critical for desirable optoelectronic functions and applications. Here, regulating chemical composition and emission wavelength of PNCs in glass by a simple heat‐treatment process are reported, which is established to rely on the thermal‐trigger phase separation and ion exchange. The first principle calculations are overall performed to reveal the mechanism of bandgap engineering and optimization of emission performance. The PNCs exhibit excellent stability against thermal, ultraviolet irradiation, and organic molecules. The bandgap of PNCs in the heat‐treated glass can also be re‐modulated by ultrafast laser irradiation. Ultrafast laser direct writing of multi‐color patterns and holographic dynamic displays are achieved, which hold great potential in the application of encryption‐decryption and emissive devices. Soil, as a primary repository of plastic debris, faces an escalating influx of microplastics. Microplastics have the potential to decrease soil bulk density and pH, as well as alter soil pore structure and aggregation. These changes in soil physicochemical properties subsequently lead to habitat degradation for microbes and environmental shifts that impact plant growth. Masquerading as soil carbon storage, microplastics can distort assessments of the soil carbon pool by introducing plastic-carbon and associated leachates, influencing soil organic matter (SOM) turnover through priming effects (e.g., dilution, substrate switching, and co-metabolisms). Additionally, microplastics can influence the distribution of soil carbon in particulate and mineral-associated organic matter, consequently affecting the accumulation and stability of soil carbon. Furthermore, microplastics can also influence the chemodiversity of dissolved organic matter (DOM) in soils by increasing DOM aromaticity and molecular weight while deepening its humification degree. The changes observed in soil DOM may be attributed to inputs from microplastic-derived DOM along with organo-organic and organo-mineral interactions coupled with microbial degradation processes. Acting as an inert source of carbon, microplastics create a distinct ecological niche for microbial growth and contribute to necromass formation pathways. Conventional microplastics can reduce microbial necromass carbon contribution to the stable pool of soil carbon, whereas bio-microplastics tend to increase it. Furthermore, microplastics exert a wide range of effects on plant performance through both internal and external factors, influencing seed germination, vegetative and reproductive growth, as well as inducing ecotoxicity and genotoxicity. These impacts may arise from alterations in the growth environment or the uptake of microplastics by plants. Future research should aim to elucidate the impact of microplastics on microbial necromass accumulation and carbon storage within mineral-associated fractions, while also paying closer attention to rhizosphere dynamics such as the microbial stabilization and mineral protection for rhizodeposits within soils. The safety of the geotechnical environment around subways is vitally important for their sustainability. Ground settlement is a very common threat to the safe operation of subways and is related to subway traffic vibrations. Taking Nanjing subway line 10 as an example, field tests, discrete element simulations, and a grey relational analysis are carried out to study the deformation mechanism of the underlying sandy soil induced by vibrations. The results show that the vibration load of Nanjing subway Line 10 is mainly concentrated in the vertical direction. The particles' coordination number below the subway increases under the vibration load, while the coordination number on the side of the tunnel decreases, which may cause a shear dilatancy effect. Among the five microscopic indexes, the local porosity and the coordination number are closely related to the deformation. Although the deformation of the underlying sandy soil is quite small under the subway traffic load, it will accumulate under frequent loading and then lead to urban engineering geological disasters. Spin-crossover (SCO) materials that reversibly switch between high- and low-spin states have potential for the storage of spin state-relative information, and have gained much attention incorporating secondary physical properties, such as fluorescence and magneto-optical switching. In this study, we synthesized three octanuclear metal-organic cages (MOCs) using tetra-phenylethylene-based luminophores, aldehydes, and FeII salts, by subcomponent self-assembly approach, namely [Fe1]-[Fe3]. By controlling the ligand-field strength and guest encapsulation, we finely tuned their SCO properties. Among them, MOC [Fe2] displayed nearly complete SCO behavior in the solid state, which is rare for high-nuclearity complexes. We also demonstrated the coupling of SCO with fluorescence emission in these MOCs by using isostructural ZnII complexes ([Zn1]-[Zn3]) as control experiments, for the first time. Theoretical calculations revealed the energy-transfer mechanism between fluorophores and SCO-active centers, which emphasizes the significant contribution of d-d transitions in the interplay between the occurrence of SCO and fluorescence emission. Ischemic stroke is a common neurological disease. Currently, there are no Food and Drug Administration-approved drugs that can maximize the improvement in ischemic stroke-induced nerve damage. Hence, treating ischemic stroke remains a clinical challenge. Ferroptosis has been increasingly studied in recent years, and it is closely related to the pathophysiological process of ischemic stroke. Iron overload, reactive oxygen species accumulation, lipid peroxidation, and glutamate accumulation associated with ferroptosis are all present in ischemic stroke. This article focuses on describing the relationship between ferroptosis and ischemic stroke and summarizes the relevant substances that ameliorate ischemic stroke-induced neurological damage by inhibiting ferroptosis. In order to enhance the durability of fuel cell systems in fuel cell hybrid electric vehicles (FCHEVs), researchers have been dedicated to studying the degradation monitoring models of fuel cells under driving conditions. To predict the actual degradation factors and lifespan of fuel cell systems, a semi-empirical and semi-physical degradation model suitable for automotive was proposed and developed. This degradation model is based on reference degradation rates obtained from experiments under known conditions, which are then adjusted using coefficients based on the electrochemical model. By integrating the degradation model into the vehicle simulation model of FCHEVs, the impact of different fuel cell sizes and dynamic limitations on the efficiency and durability of FCHEVs was analyzed. The results indicate that increasing the fuel cell stack power improves durability while reducing hydrogen consumption, but this effect plateaus after a certain point. Increasing the dynamic limitations of the fuel cell leads to higher hydrogen consumption but also improves durability. When considering only the rated power of the fuel cell, a comparison between 160 kW and 100 kW resulted in a 6% reduction in hydrogen consumption and a 10% increase in durability. However, when considering dynamic limitation factors, comparing the maximum and minimum limitations of a 160 kW fuel cell, hydrogen consumption increased by 10%, while durability increased by 83%. The clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated gene (Cas) system is continually optimized to achieve the most efficient gene editing effect. The Cas12iMax, a Cas12i variant, exhibits powerful DNA editing activity and enriches the gene editing toolbox. However, the application of Cas12iMax in large domestic animals has not yet been reported. To verify the efficiency and feasibility of multiple gene editing in large animals, we generated porcine fibroblasts with simultaneous knockouts of IGF2, ANPEP, CD163, and MSTN via Cas12iMax in one step. Phenotypically stable pigs were created through somatic cell nuclear transfer technology. They exhibited improved growth performance and muscle quality. Furthermore, we simultaneously edited three genes in bovine fibroblasts. A knockout of MSTN and PRNP was created and the amino acid Q-G in CD18 was precisely substituted. Meanwhile, no off-target phenomenon was observed by sum-type analysis or off-target detection. These results verified the effectiveness of Cas12iMax for gene editing in livestock animals and demonstrated the potential application of Cas12iMax in the field of animal trait improvement for agricultural production. The arrangement of a pit-shaped surface texture on the surface of a cylinder liner significantly affects reductions in piston ring friction, and the influence of the structural parameters and spatial distribution on piston ring friction power consumption is unclear. In this paper, the diameter, depth, axial spacing distance, and radial spacing distance of the pits on the inner surface of a cylinder liner were used as variable parameters to process the surface textures of different schemes, and then a friction and wear test was carried out on UMT piston ring–cylinder liner specimens, several texture schemes with the best anti-friction effect were selected, an engine bench test was carried out by comparing these texture schemes with non-texture schemes, and the frictional torque and fuel consumption of the engine were studied at different oil temperatures. The results show that the depth of the pits in the surface texture of a cylinder liner has a greater influence on the friction reduction effect, followed by the radius. The higher the oil temperature in the engine bench test, the greater the impact of the surface texture. The reduction in fuel consumption was greater in the lower-speed region after structuring the textured cylinder liner compared to the non-textured cylinder liner. Specifically, the friction coefficient was mainly affected by the depth of the pits, and the depths of the pits in the texture schemes with good friction reduction effect were all 17–19 μm. The best friction reduction could be achieved when the pit radius is around 50 μm, with little difference in pit depth. When the oil temperature was 95 °C, the average drag torque reduction was about 1.69 Nm; when the oil temperature was 105 °C, the decrease was about 2.54 Nm; and when the oil temperature was 105 °C, the decrease was about 4.53 Nm. After adding the surface texture of the cylinder liner, the fuel consumption rate of the engine equipped with the structured cylinder liner was generally reduced compared with that of the original cylinder liner engine. The overuse of fossil fuels has caused a serious energy crisis and environmental pollution. Due to these challenges, the search for alternative energy sources that can replace fossil fuels is necessary. To realize a hydrogen economy in the future, it is essential to construct a comprehensive hydrogen supply chain that can make hydrogen a key energy carrier. The ability of the floating offshore wind turbine foundation to withstand harsh wind and wave conditions is intrinsically linked to the meticulousness employed in the design of the mooring system. Therefore, it is vital to conduct research to reveal the variations in sensitivity of new mooring materials parameters and the response characteristics of the foundation in the presence of intricate operational circumstances. A fully coupled time-domain dynamic analysis is performed via the commercial software AQWA to examine the VolturnUS-S semi-submersible foundation, specifically engineered to support the IEA 15 MW offshore reference wind turbine. The numerical simulation results indicate that synthetic fibers, specifically Aramid and high-modulus polyethylene, can replace the steel wire as mooring materials. At the same time, the mooring arrangement, length, diameter, and fairlead position influence foundation motions and mooring tensions, bringing valuable insight into the fluctuation patterns of these responses. Purpose: Soils develop via a complex interaction of time, environment, climate, and human activity. As a proxy for paleoclimate reconstruction, soils have received less attention than other geological systems, and the limited attention was concentrated in loess sequences. Fluvisols form a subrecent natural archive that documents mid-term pedogenic processes and environmental change in floodplains. We investigated the pedological characteristics and pedogenesis of fluvisols in the Beijing region and presented a Late Holocene paleoenvironmental reconstruction based on it. Methods: We applied the radiocarbon dating method to investigate soil formation in the floodplain of the North Canal in Beijing's southeast suburbs. Soil morphology, soil texture, and environmental physical–chemical indicators (calcium carbonate, organic matter, total phosphorus, and total potassium) were selected for comprehensive analysis. Results and discussion: Thorough integrated interpretation of soil development processes in the fluvisols sequence revealed regional paleoenvironmental and climatic developments. The paleoclimate of Beijing underwent a transition from warm and humid to temperate and dry, as well as multiple cold fluctuations. Multiple humic burial horizons in the fluvisol sequence were overlain by a mineral soil horizon with weak soil formation, indicating that fluvic geology processes interrupted the process of the fluvisol formation, corresponding to cold-dry fluctuations in a warm-humid paleoclimatic context in Beijing floodplain. There is a correlation between paleoclimatic environmental conditions and soil texture, organic matter, calcium carbonate, and other physical and chemical properties in the soil chronology. Conclusions: As an emerging paleoenvironmental proxy, the geological process and soil-forming process of fluvisols inferred from soil properties can reconstruct the variation of paleoclimatic-environmental conditions. Fluvisol sequence build-up and illuviated accumulation of mineral material in the soil complex were more pronounced in warm and humid climatic conditions. Millennia of farming practices dominate the development of the uppermost fluvisols. Environmental reconstruction based on fluvisol soil properties is complementary to reconstruction drawing on other prevalent paleoclimate proxies. Objectives: This study aimed to explore the role of inhibin subunit beta A (INHBA) in the progression of cervical cancer (CCa) and investigate its potential as a therapeutic target. Specifically, the objectives were to assess the expression levels of INHBA in CCa, examine its correlation with patient survival, and elucidate its impact on CCa cell proliferation, cell cycle regulation, migration, invasion, and in vivo tumor growth and metastasis. Methods: To achieve the objectives, we conducted a comprehensive set of experimental methods. INHBA expression in CCa was analyzed, and its association with patient survival was assessed using clinical data. In vitro experiments involved the investigation of INHBA's effects on CCa cell proliferation, cell cycle dynamics, migration, and invasion through the epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) process. Additionally, in vivo experiments were performed to evaluate the influence of INHBA on CCa growth and lung metastasis. Results: The results of this study revealed upregulated expression of INHBA in CCa, with a significant association between high INHBA expression and poor patient survival. Functionally, INHBA was found to promote the proliferation of CCa cells, regulate the cell cycle, and enhance migration and invasion through the EMT process in vitro. Moreover, in vivo experiments demonstrated that INHBA facilitated the growth and lung metastasis of CCa. Conclusion: In conclusion, our findings suggest that INHBA plays a crucial role in the progression of cervical cancer. The upregulation of INHBA is associated with poor patient survival, and its involvement in promoting key aspects of cancer progression makes it a potential therapeutic target for CCa treatment. Background: Indotyphlops braminus, the only known triploid parthenogenetic snake, is a compelling species for revealing the mechanism of polyploid emergence in vertebrates. Methods: In this study, we applied PacBio isoform sequencing technology to generate the first full-length transcriptome of I. braminus, aiming to improve the understanding of the molecular characteristics of this species. Results: A total of 51,849 nonredundant full-length transcript assemblies (with an N50 length of 2980 bp) from I. braminus were generated and fully annotated using various gene function databases. Our analysis provides preliminary evidence supporting a recent genome duplication event in I. braminus. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that the divergence of I. braminus subgenomes occurred approximately 11.5 ~ 15 million years ago (Mya). Setting the staged flood limit water level (FLWL) through flood season staging is an important means of fully utilizing reservoir flood resources. The widely-used Fisher optimal partition method requires a certain time domain as the basic unit in determining the optimal staging of a flood season. Currently, 5 and 10 days matching the month and solar terms are usually used as the time unit. This study aimed to analyze the influence of other time-domain units (7 and 15 days) that meet the relevant requirements on the staging results and to provide a scientific basis for the selection of time-domain units in flood season staging. The rationality of the staging scheme was tested using the improved Cunderlik method, and the influence of specific basic units in the Fisher optimal partition method on the staging results was evaluated. The highest relative superiority of 0.9876 was found for 5 d, indicating that this is a suitable time-domain unit. The optimal staging result was determined as 20 June for the first segmentation point and 20 August for the second. A comparison of the staged FLWL with a single fixed FLWL showed that the water level was raised by 1.56 m in the pre-flood season, 0.65 m in the main flood season, and 1.37 m in the post-flood season. Random lasers have attracted much attention in recent years owing to their advantages of a simple fabrication process, low processing cost, and material flexibility for any lasing wavelengths. They provide a roadmap for the design of ultra-bright lighting, displays, etc. However, the threshold reduction in random nanolasers remains a challenge in practical applications. In this work, lower-threshold random laser action from monolayer molybdenum disulfide film-encapsulated Au nanoparticles (MoS2/Au NPs) is demonstrated. The observed laser action of the MoS2/Au NPs shows a lower threshold of about 0.564 µJ/mm2, which is about 46.2% lower than the threshold of random lasers based on Au NPs. We proposed that the charge transfer between MoS2 and the gain material is the main reason for the reduction in the random laser threshold. The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method was used to calculate the lasing action of these two nanostructures. When charge transfer is taken into account, the theoretically calculated threshold of the MoS2/Au NPs is reduced by 46.8% compared to Au NP samples, which is consistent with the experimental results. This study provides a new mechanism to achieve low-threshold and high-quality random lasers, which has the potential to facilitate the application of random lasers and the development of high-performance optoelectronic devices. At present, detection methods for rice microbial indicators are usually based on microbial culture or sensory detection methods, which are time‐consuming or require expertise and thus cannot meet the needs of on‐site rice testing when the rice is taken out of storage or traded. In order to develop a fast and non‐destructive method for detecting rice mildew, in this paper, micro‐computer vision technology is used to collect images of mildewed rice samples from 9 image locations. Then, a YOLO‐V5 convolutional neural network model is used to detect moldy areas of rice, and the mold coverage area is estimated. The relationship between the moldy areas and the total number of bacterial colonies in the image is obtained. The results show that the precision and the recall of the established YOLO‐v5 model in identifying the mildewed areas of rice in the validation set were 82.1% and 86.5%, respectively. Based on the mean mildewed area identified by the YOLO‐v5 model, the precision and recall for light mold detection were 100% and 95.3%, respectively. The proposed method based on micro‐computer vision and the YOLO convolutional neural network can be applied to the rapid detection of mildew in rice taken out of storage or traded. Recently, the worldwide pulsar timing array(PTA) collaborations, such as the Chinese Pulsar Timing Array (CPTA), the European PulsarTiming Array (EPTA), the North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav) and the Parkers Pulsar Timing Array (PPTA) published the analysis of PTA data, which is consistent with the Hellings–Downs curve, thus provides evidence for the existence of stochastic gravitational wave backgrounds (SGWB). In this paper, we will show that such SGWB signal observed by PTA can be explained by the gravitational waves (GWs) induced from double-inflection-point inflationary model in the framework of supergravity with a single chiral superfield. In this model, one of the inflection points leads to a large peak in the scalar power spectrum at small scales, and when this peak re-enters the horizon, it will induce GWs with the frequencies around nanohertz. In addition, we show that the high-density regions corresponding to the peak can collapse into planet-mass primordial black holes (PBHs), thus act as a component of dark matter (DM). Berberine, an active compound extracted from the Chinese herb, was reported to have an antibacterial effect and an anti-inflammatory effect and promote osteogenic differentiation of human dental pulp stem cells. However, the underlying therapeutic mechanism of berberine in pulpitis is still unknown. Here, bioinformatics analysis was performed to investigate the potential mechanism of berberine against pulpitis. First, we identified the collective targets of berberine and pulpitis from several databases using a Venny online tool. The pattern of interaction between berberine and the targeted protein was visualized by molecular docking. Moreover, we performed GSEA, Gene Ontology (GO), and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analyses to obtain potential pathways. Cell experiments were performed to validate the bioinformatics analysis results. Prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2 (PTGS2) was identified as the crucial antipulpitis target of berberine via the CytoHubba plugin. Docking analysis indicated that berberine could fit in the binding pocket of the PTGS2 protein. Additionally, berberine exerted its therapeutic effects against pulpitis via multiple pathways. Overall, berberine possessed therapeutic effects against pulpitis through the inactivation of toll-like receptor and NOD-like receptor signaling pathways. In order to meet the increasing pollutants discharge standard, the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) module in the diesel engine after-treatment system is an important means to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. SCR systems are prone to urea crystallization at lower temperatures, especially during the cold-start conditions of diesel engines. In this study, we use the diesel engine after-treatment system test bench to obtain the boundary parameter of the simulation modules, and the urea crystallization risk assessment model of the diesel SCR system is established. Comparing the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) results with the test bench results, it is shown that the predicted urea film distribution of the assessment model is in good agreement with the experimental results. In order to clarify the various factors that affect the urea crystallization risk, this paper conducts a simulation analysis on a nozzle and mixer structure and operating parameters. The CFD results indicate that the increase in urea spray time will increase the maximum urea film thickness on the SCR system mixer surface. Exhaust temperature is the most important influencing factor. When the diesel engine exhaust temperature increases from 190 °C to 300 °C, the maximum urea film thickness decreases by 32 and the urea film mass accumulation decreases by 5%. Exhaust flow has a small impact on urea crystallization risk. When the exhaust flow increases from 300 kg/h to 600 kg/h, the maximum urea film thickness decreases by 39% and the urea film mass accumulation decreases by about 1%. Background: The advantages of anterior cervical decompression and fusion (ACDF) were well published, while research on postoperative results in different subtypes of cervical disk herniation (CDH) still remains blank. This study aimed to explore the surgical outcome between sequestration and other types in CDH. Methods: This retrospective cohort study enrolled 108 patients treated with ACDF in our hospital. The participants were divided into two groups according to the existence of a sequestered disk. The Visual analog scale score, the Japanese Orthopedics Association (JOA) score and the Neck disability index score were used to evaluate postoperative outcome. Results: Significant improvements were observed in both groups at every viewpoint (P < 0.001). The mean JOA was 15.04 ± 1.26 in the sequestered disk group and 14.45 ± 1.43 in the non-sequestered disk group two months after the operation (P = 0.026 < 0.05). The improvement in JOA at two months after ACDF showed a significant difference: 46.58% ± 39.17% in the sequestered disk group and 33.39% ± 28.82% in the non-sequestered disk group (P = 0.047 < 0.05). Thirty-two patients in the sequestered disk group (64%) and 19 patients in the non-sequestered disk group (32.76%) presented with high signal intensity of the spinal cord on preoperative cervical T2-weighted MRI (P < 0.001). Conclusions: Patients with sequestered cervical disks seemed to have a higher degree of symptom improvement two months after ACDF. CDH with a sequestered disk appears to be more likely to cause high signal intensity changes in the compressed cervical spine on T2-weighted MRI. Biochar (BC) has garnered extensive attention as a carbon sequestration solution. This study comprehensively reviews of the effects of BC on the buildup, protection, stabilization, and mineralization of soil organic carbon (SOC). The input of BC-derived carbon alters soil carbon quality by changing SOC content and aromaticity. BC also affects processes controlling substrate accessibility, such as physical protection of SOC by soil aggregates and organo-mineral interaction. Changes in soil carbon quality and physicochemical properties further alter carbon source availability and microbial habitat, thereby affecting the microbial decomposition of SOC. Of particular importance is the soil aggregation process, which regulates the distribution and turnover of microbial necromass and SOC fraction in different aggregates. The "microbial carbon pump" concept framework highlights the pivotal role of microbial necromass in the formation of soil stable carbon pool. BC can affect the accumulation and decomposition of microbial necromass carbon in the bulk soil and different aggregates, thereby changing the soil carbon pool composition and stability. The newly proposed "mineral carbon pump" hypothesis further emphasizes the crucial role of organo-mineral interaction in stabilizing SOC. Further research is required to understand the role of viable microbial biomass and dead microbial necromass in SOC turnover, as well as the extent and mechanism of the interaction between BC and soil minerals. Long-term ecosystem effects of BC, as well as the resilience of BC-soil system to climate change, need to be clarified to determine the rationality of BC application in the context of global change. To further improve the performance of the Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC), in this paper, we designed a blocked flow channel with trapezoidal baffles, and geometric parameters of the baffle were optimized based on CFD simulation, Artificial Neural Network (ANN), and single-objective optimization methods. The analysis of velocity, pressure, and oxygen distribution in the cathode flow channel shows that the optimized trapezoidal baffle can improve oxygen transport during the reaction. The comparison of the optimization model with the straight flow channel model and the rectangular baffle model shows that the power density of the optimized model is 4.0% higher than that of the straight flow channel model at a voltage of 0.3 V, and the pressure drop is only 37.83% of that of the rectangular baffle model. For on-road PEMFC with a voltage of 0.6 V, the influence of pump power is significant, and the optimized trapezoidal baffle model has a net power increase of 1.47% compared to the rectangular baffle model at 50% pump efficiency and 3.94% at 30% pump efficiency. To achieve diesel engine ultra-low nitrogen oxide emission, light-off selective catalyst reduction (LO-SCR) has been suggested for better performance with lower exhaust temperature. An electric heater upstream of the exhaust aftertreatment system was applied to significantly decrease the NOx emission at a low exhaust temperature. With a 7.2 kW electric heater coupled with LO-SCR, the NOx emission during 200~500 s of the world harmonized transient cycle (WHTC) decreased from 282.6 ppm to 61.5 ppm, which is a decrease of 45%. Application of an upstream diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) decreased the NOx emission by 63% at the same interval at the cost of worse cold-start performance. In response to the demands for high frequency, miniaturization, and high integration in electronic devices, such as inductors and DC-DC convertors, nickel–zinc ferrite thin films exhibit significant application value and development potential. For regulating the magnetic properties and microstructure of spin-sprayed polycrystalline ferrite materials, a comprehensive understanding of the impact of oxidant concentration on film reaction is essential. This study finds that as the concentration of the NaNO2 oxidant increases, the grain size of the nickel–zinc ferrite thin film samples progressively enlarges. Due to the preferential occupation of iron ions at the B sites, the saturation magnetization correspondingly increases. However, when the oxidant concentration becomes excessive, the preferential (222) orientation growth of the film is disrupted, leading to the agglomeration and uneven growth of grains, transitioning from triangular plate-like to spherical in shape. This increase in grain size alters the magnetization mechanism of the thin film, predominantly favoring domain wall movement. Introduction: IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a multiorgan autoimmune disorder that causes irreversible injury. Deteriorated kidney functions are common but easily ignored complications associated with IgG4-RD. Yet the clinical manifestations and prognosis of this specific entity have not been fully illustrated. Method: Three hundred fifty patients with IgG4-RD were retrospectively enrolled and divided into 119 IgG4-RD with chronic kidney disease (IgG4-RD CKD+) and 231 IgG4-RD without CKD (IgG4-RD CKD-). Demographic clinical and laboratory characteristics and survival of two cohorts were compared using restricted cubic splines, logistic and Cox regression, and Kaplan-Meier analysis. A nomogram was generated for calculating the probability of CKD in IgG4-RD. Results: The spectrum of organ involvement was different between IgG4-RD CKD+ and CKD- cohorts (p<0.001). Lung (26.89%) and retroperitoneum (18.49%) involvement were more common in the IgG4-RD CKD+ cohort. Increased serum potassium and phosphorus, reduced calcium levels, and hypocomplementemia (all p<0.05) were observed in IgG4-RD CKD+. Restricted cubic splines revealed a U-shaped plot regarding associations between serum potassium and CKD. Kaplan-Meier analysis demonstrated significantly lower long-term survival rates in IgG4-RD patients with kidney function at CKD stages 4–5. Cox regression revealed declined kidney functions (G4 HR 6.537 (95% CI: 1.134–37.675)) associated with increased all-cause mortality in IgG4-RD patients. A nomogram was constructed to predict CKD in IgG4-RD promptly with a discrimination (C-index) of 0.846. Conclusions: CKD in IgG4-RD was associated with poor outcomes and electrolyte disturbances. Patients with IgG4-RD should be aware of possible deterioration in kidney function. The nomogram proposed would help to identify the subtle possibility of CKD in IgG4-RD. Tunnel junctions (TJs) offer a unique approach to utilizing nonequilibrium tunneling injection of holes and have demonstrated potential applications in ultraviolet (UV) emitters. However, high operating voltage caused by the wide bandgap of the III‐nitrides has impeded the further promotion of TJ. Here, 275 nm n+‐Al0.45Ga0.55N/p+‐Al0.5Ga0.5N ultrathin tunnel junction (UTJ) deep‐UV light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) are developed for minimizing the electrical losses and achieve, to the current knowledge, the lowest operating voltage (5.7 V) at 300 mA reported to date. This study discovers that Mg‐Si co‐doping occurs in the n+‐Al0.45Ga0.55N layer during the growth of n+‐Al0.45Ga0.55N/p+‐Al0.5Ga0.5N UTJ due to the memory and diffusion effect of Mg, which leads to the formation of Ohmic contact between high‐work‐function Ni/Au and Mg‐Si co‐doped n+‐ Al0.45Ga0.55N layer in UTJ. The Zener diode, fluorine resin, and optimally designed glass lens are incorporated into the chip encapsulation to enhance the reliability and optical performance of the device. Furthermore, a high‐efficiency sterilization deep‐UV light source is developed integrated with 120 UTJ deep‐UV LED chips. Complete surface inactivation at a long irradiation distance (20 cm) is achieved within only seconds using the high‐power sterilization deep‐UV light source. These results indicate that UTJ is promising in developing deep UV LEDs and their integrated light sources. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
