Patients on B cell immunosuppressive treatments have been shown to have persistent infection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In this report, a woman treated with ibrutinib for chronic lymphocytic leukemia experienced more than 40 days of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection. Unexpectedly, her peripheral blood experiments showed a normal SARS-CoV-2-specific antibody level and a relatively elevated percentage of CD19 + B cells, while an obvious decrease in the percentages of NK cells, CD4 + T cells and CD8 + T cells. Further SARS-CoV-2-specific T cell analysis in this patient indicated a significant decrease in the percentage of SARS-CoV-2-specific IFN-γ, TNF-α or IL-2 producing CD4 + T or CD8 + T cells. Most notably, ten days after the cease of ibrutinib, the PCR for SARS-CoV-2 turned negative and the reduced proportions of peripheral CD4 + T cells and CD8 + T cells recovered. Our research predicted that the depleted B-cell function therapies may play considerable role in the development of long COVID-19 and the abnormal T-cell subset distribution might be the underlying mechanism. Ceramic fiber aerogels, a unique feature of mesopores and/or macropores formed by overlapping fibers, are currently one of the most appropriate materials for use in high-temperature thermal insulation. However, they usually exhibit incredibly limited mechanical stability derived from random weak links among ceramic fibers, which can lead to disastrous consequences especially under extreme conditions especially. Here, we report a thermal-insulating silica-based ceramic fiber aerogel with excellent compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, and a very high-temperature resistance limit. A unique feature of the obtained ceramic aerogels is that silica based fibers are connected and welded at their common joints together with remain these abundant multiscale porosities, forming multiple fusing knots in contrast to networks from random placement of weakly connected fibers. Synchronously, under shocks from external forces the introduction of the ZrO2 crystalline phase effectively produces microcrack bifurcations which slow down the crack extension behaviour while maintaining the fracture toughness of the single silica-based ceramic fiber, thereby significantly enhancing the mechanical strength. Consequently, the bulk ceramic aerogels obtained can withstand a maximum elastic strain of more than 80%, and the measured compressive strength is as high as 3.89 × 105 Pa (80% compressive strain). These ceramic aerogels show stable elasticity and structural integrity in an ultra-wide temperature range of -196–1300 °C. Meanwhile, the aerogels have superior mechanical strength, with the energy loss coefficient stabilized at 0.35 after 500 cycles and the lowest thermal conductivity of 0.092 Wm−1 K−1 at 800 oC, which is ahead of most of the ceramic aerogels currently available. The improvement of industrial Total Factor Productivity (TFP) is the basis for the high-quality development of China's economy. Sci-tech finance affects industrial TFP through screening and allocation mechanism, governance mechanism, and integration mechanism. Based on provincial panel data from 2009 to 2016, this paper constructs a comprehensive index of regional Sci-tech finance and explores the impact of Sci-tech finance on industrial TFP from two perspectives: differences in financial development levels and transmission paths. The results show that Sci-tech finance has a significant role in promoting the industrial TFP, but this promotion needs to meet certain financial development conditions. In high-level financial development areas, the promotion effect is significant. It is not linear. The effect is a threshold effect with the diminishing marginal efficiency. Sci-tech finance mainly promotes industrial TFP through boosting the industry's scientific and technological innovation capacity. Gleditsia sinensis, commonly known as Chinese Zaojiao, has important economic value and medicinal compounds in its fruits and thorns, making it widely cultivated artificially in China. However, the available literature on the impact of waterlogging on the growth of G. sinensis seedlings and the accumulation of metabolite compounds in its thorns is limited. To address this knowledge gap, G. sinensis seedlings were planted in soil supplemented with pindstrup substrate, which enhances the water-holding capacity of the soil. The analyses of morphological traits and nutrient elements in one-year-old G. sinensis seedlings grown naturally under ambient conditions and metabolite accumulation in its thorns were conducted. The results showed that the waterlogged soil significantly diminished the height, fresh weight, and dry weight of seedling roots and stems (P < 0:05). Furthermore, waterlogging hindered the uptake of iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn), as well as the transport of potassium (K). The identified metabolites within the thorns were categorized into 16 distinct groups. Relative to the control soil, fatty acids and derivatives were the most down-regulated metabolites in the waterlogged soil, accounting for 40.58% of the total metabolites, followed by lignans (38.71%), phenolic acids (34.48%), saccharides and alcohols (34.15%), steroids (16.67%), alkaloids (12.24%), flavonoids (9.28%), and glycerophospholipids (7.41%). Conversely, nucleotides and derivatives experienced the greatest up-regulation in the waterlogged soil, accounting for 50.00% of the total metabolites. In conclusion, waterlogging negatively impacted the growth of G. sinensis seedlings and inhibited the accumulation of metabolites. Hence, when considering the accumulation of secondary metabolites such as lignans and phenolic acids, appropriate management of soil moisture levels should be taken into account. Background: This study aimed to identify metabolic subtypes in ESCA, explore their relationship with immune landscapes, and establish a metabolic index for accurate prognosis assessment. Methods: Clinical, SNP, and RNA-seq data were collected from 80 ESCA patients from the TCGA database and RNA-seq data from the GSE19417 dataset. Metabolic genes associated with overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were selected, and k-means clustering was performed. Immune-related pathways, immune infiltration, and response to immunotherapy were predicted using bioinformatic algorithms. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) was conducted to identify metabolic genes associated with co-expression modules. Lastly, cell culture and functional analysis were performed using patient tissue samples and ESCA cell lines to verify the identified genes and their roles. Results: Molecular subtypes were identified based on the expression profiles of metabolic genes, and univariate survival analysis revealed 163 metabolic genes associated with ESCA prognosis. Consensus clustering analysis classified ESCA samples into three distinct subtypes, with MC1 showing the poorest prognosis and MC3 having the best prognosis. The subtypes also exhibited significant differences in immune cell infiltration, with MC3 showing the highest scores. Additionally, the MC3 subtype demonstrated the poorest response to immunotherapy, while the MC1 subtype was the most sensitive. WGCNA analysis identified gene modules associated with the metabolic index, with SLC5A1, NT5DC4, and MTHFD2 emerging as prognostic markers. Gene and protein expression analysis validated the upregulation of MTHFD2 in ESCA. MTHFD2 promotes the progression of ESCA and may be a potential therapeutic target for ESCA. The plasmonic photothermal conversion efficiency can be enhanced by coupling among plasmonic atoms or plasmonic molecules due to the amplified local electric field and extinction cross-section. Recently, it has been theoretically proved that hybridization between dipolar modes and higher order modes can provide higher enhancement than that among dipolar modes in terms of both near- and far-field, which may lead to a higher photothermal conversion rate. In this work, we systematically investigated the photothermal conversion enhancement of plasmonic coupling between a dipolar mode of a titanium nitride nanoparticle (TiN NP) and a higher order mode of a gold nanorod (Au NR), which was compared to that of coupling among TiN NPs' dipolar modes. We evaluated the photothermal conversion efficiency of dipole–dipole coupling and dipole–multipole coupling in the nanocluster under the illumination of a monochromatic laser of 808 nm wavelength and simulated solar light, respectively. Both experimental tests and numerical simulations suggested that the plasmonic dipole–multipole coupling exhibited higher enhancement in photothermal conversion than dipole–dipole plasmonic coupling. Developing novel filler sands has garnered significant interest in improving the ladle's free‐opening rate and enhancing the cleanliness of high‐Mn and high‐Al steel. Laboratory studies explore the effect of adding Cr2O3 powder on the sintering behavior of chromite‐based filler sands. Furthermore, interfacial phenomena are examined between the sands and the steel grades, varying in Mn contents. The results demonstrate that adding Cr2O3 power plays a role in inhibiting the liquid phase formation in the sand. With a 16% addition, the steel (Mn mass% = 30) reacts with the sand, leading to the shape of a spinel phase, specifically (Mn, Fe, Mg)O·(Al, Cr)2O3, which facilitates the separation of the liquid phase. The reduction of FeO to Fe by Mn, Al, and C in steel, especially Al, is hindered by adding Cr2O3, resulting in a suitable sintering degree that ultimately benefits ladle free‐opening. SiO2 is crucial for forming the liquid phase during the sintering process. The SiO2 content of the sand should be about 20% to achieve optimal sintering effects. Chromite sand for casting is not suitable for the steels. The mixed sand presented in the current study demonstrates potential as a suitable filler sand for the steel (20 ≤ Mn mass% ≤ 30). Alpine Rhododendron species are prominent constituents and renowned ornamental plants in alpine ecosystems. Consequently, evaluating the genetic variation in embolism resistance within the genus Rhododendron and predicting their adaptability to future climate change is important. Nevertheless, the assessment of embolism resistance in Rhododendron species remains limited. This investigation aimed to examine leaf vulnerability to embolism across ten alpine Rhododendron species, which are frequently employed as ornamental species in Rhododendron forests in Southwest China. The study analyzed the correlation between embolism resistance and various morphological traits, while also conducting water control experiments to evaluate the relationship between embolism resistance and drought resistance. The outcomes indicated pronounced variations in leaf vulnerability to embolism among species, as reflected by the water potential at 50% of embolized pixels (P50). Furthermore, the leaf P50 exhibited a significant positive correlation with vessel diameter (D) (R2 = 0.44, P = 0.03) and vessel wall span (b) (R2 = 0.64, P = 0.005), while displaying a significant negative correlation with vessel reinforcement ((t/b)2) (R2 = 0.67, P = 0.004). These findings underscore the reliability of selecting species based on embolism vulnerability to preserve the diversity of alpine ecosystems and foster resilience to climate change. To increase the production of Grifola frondosa polysaccharides (GFPs), a hydrogen peroxide/ascorbic acid (H2O2/Vc)-assisted extraction method was established. The extraction conditions were optimized by response surface methodology. Purification of the crude GFP by DEAE-52 and Sephadex G100 column chromatography yielded three fractions, GFP0, GFP1, and GFP3. Monosaccharide composition analysis revealed that these GFPs mainly consisted of mannose, glucose, galactose and l-fucose, together with a low proportion of xylose, glucuronic acid and ribose. Chemical antioxidant assays indicated that these GFPs possessed considerable reducing power and radical (DPPH·, HO· and ABTS·+) scavenging ability. They were also observed to availably protect RAW264.7 cells from H2O2-induced oxidative stress, reduce intracellular ROS and MDA levels, and increase intracellular SOD and CAT activities. These GFPs were able to up-regulate the mRNA expression of SOD1, CAT, HO-1 and Nrf2, indicating that regulation of antioxidant enzymes and Nrf2 signaling pathway could be their important antioxidant mechanism. Rosacea is a complex chronic inflammatory skin disorder with high morbidity. Pyroptosis is known as a regulated inflammatory cell death. While its association with immune response to various inflammatory disorders is well established, little is known about its functional relevance of rosacea. So, we aimed to explore and enrich the pathogenesis involved in pyroptosis‐related rosacea aggravations. In this study, we evaluated the pyroptosis‐related patterns of rosacea by consensus clustering analysis of 45 ferroptosis‐related genes (FRGs), with multiple immune cell infiltration analysis to identify the pyroptosis‐mediated immune response in rosacea using GSE65914 dataset. The co–co‐work between PRGs and WGCNA‐revealed hub genes has established using PPI network. FRG signature was highlighted in rosacea using multi‐transcriptomic and experiment analysis. Based on this, three distinct pyroptosis‐related rosacea patterns (non/moderate/high) were identified, and the notably enriched pathways have revealed through GO, KEGG and GSEA analysis, especially immune‐related pathways. Also, the XCell/MCPcount/ssGSEA/Cibersort underlined the immune‐related signalling (NK cells, Monocyte, Neutrophil, Th2 cells, Macrophage), whose hub genes were identified through WGCNA (NOD2, MYD88, STAT1, HSPA4, CXCL8). Finally, we established a pyroptosis‐immune co‐work during the rosacea aggravations. FRGs may affect the progression of rosacea by regulating the immune cell infiltrations. Background: The present study aims to explore the clinical application of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) in pediatric patients with congenital upper gastrointestinal obstruction (CUGIO). Methods: A total of 82 pediatric patients with CUGIO admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit in Kunming Children's Hospital between June 2017 and June 2021 were enrolled in the present study and divided into two groups: the ERAS group (n = 46) and the control group (n = 36). The ERAS management mode was adopted in the ERAS group, and the conventional perioperative management mode was adopted in the control group. Results: In the ERAS group and the control group, the time to the first postoperative bowel movement was 49.2 ± 16.6 h and 58.4 ± 18.8 h, respectively, and the time to the first postoperative feeding was 79 ± 7.1 h and 125.2 ± 8.3 h, respectively. The differences in the above two indicators between the two groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05). In the ERAS group, the days of parenteral nutrition and the length of hospital stay were 14.5 ± 2.3 d and 18.8 ± 6.4 d, respectively. In the control group, 17.6 ± 2.2 d and 23.1 ± 8.1 d, respectively. The differences in these two indicators between the two groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Creating 3D‐engineered macroscopic architectures while inheriting the superior properties of individual building blocks remains one of the fundamental challenges in nanotechnology. Stable covalent interconnection between micro/nanoblocks is a desired but underexplored strategy to meet the challenges, rather than current dependently‐used weak physical forces or organic cross‐linking, which disrupts the continuity of chemical composition and electrical properties. Herein, a novel layer‐by‐layer covalent growth protocol is developed to construct all‐graphene macrostructures (AGM) with micro‐to‐macro inheritable electrical properties by laser‐assisted covalent linkage of polyethersulfone‐derived 3D porous graphene microblocks without introducing any catalysts, templates, and additives. Creatively, along with graphene generation and inter‐layer bonding, a quality optimization process is integrated into one‐step laser irradiation, which is unique and efficient for synthesizing high‐crystalline graphene. With the covalently nondestructive bridge and free of non‐graphene foreign phase impurities, AGM shows unprecedented electrical conductivity, especially a more than 100‐fold improvement in cross‐layer conductivity compared with non‐covalent assembly. Furthermore, the covalent growth mechanism of AGM is clarified by molecular dynamics simulations. Finally, the application efficacy of AGM with enhanced isotropic conductivity is verified by using it as a supercapacitor electrode. In this review, the significance of ratoon rice was introduced, and the research status and development trends of ratoon rice were also summarized. It is pointed out that mechanically harvested ratoon rice is the developing direction of future ratoon rice. On this basis, we analyzed the relationship between the yield of ratoon rice and many factors, such as variety characteristics, sowing date, water control, fertilizer, and many others. It is important to construct a comprehensive and practical evaluation system for rice regeneration that can provide a basis for high-yield cultivation of machine-harvested ratoon rice. At the same time, it is suggested that combining high-yield cultivation with the green ecological efficiency of rice can achieve better production and improve the quality of rice. Finally, some problems with ratoon rice development were put forward. An in-depth study on the rhizosphere biology and regulation techniques of ratoon rice and the effective ecological compensation mechanism increased the capacity and quality of ratoon rice. Glaucoma is a group of diseases characterized by the degeneration of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) and progressive, irreversible vision loss. High intraocular pressure (IOP) heightens the likelihood of glaucoma and correlates with RGC loss. While the current glaucoma therapy prioritizes lower the IOP; however, RGC, and visual loss may persist even when the IOP is well-controlled. As such, discovering and creating IOP-independent neuroprotective strategies for safeguard RGCs is crucial for glaucoma management. Investigating and clarifying the mechanism behind RGC death to counteract its effects is a promising direction for glaucoma control. Empirical studies of glaucoma reveal the role of multiple regulated cell death (RCD) pathways in RGC death. This review delineates the RCD of RGCs following IOP elevation and optic nerve damage and discusses the substantial benefits of mitigating RCD in RGCs in preserving visual function. Dynamic facial expression recognition is important for human–computer interaction. Learning the temporal dynamic representation of facial expressions and exploring the complementary information between features of different views (e.g., anatomy-based views and neural network-based views) are two main challenges. In this paper, we first propose an adaptive graph attention (AGAT) network for temporal dynamic modeling. Specifically, a non-fully connected graph with a GLOBAL node is constructed to model local and global temporal dynamics simultaneously. The graph attention mechanism is adopted to learn an adaptive graph structure and dynamically attend to salient moments of facial expressions. For multi-view dynamic facial expression recognition, we propose a cross-view attention (CVA) module to mutually enhance the features of different views through channel attention at each moment. Based on the CVA module, we extend the AGAT network to a cross-view adaptive graph attention (CV-AGAT) network to simultaneously model the temporal dynamics of the mutually enhanced features for robust dynamic facial expression recognition. Extensive experiments on two dynamic facial expression recognition datasets demonstrate that the proposed AGAT and CV-AGAT networks achieve state-of-the-art results. The dried flower buds of Magnolia biondii Pamp (herbal name, Xin-Yi) are a traditional Chinese medicine with a long history of clinical use in the treatment of allergic rhinitis and sinusitis. However, the constituents responsible for its antiallergic effects remain clearly unidentified. In the present study, totally 33 lignans were obtained from M. biondii. Among them, two novel furofuran lignans (1 and 2), two novel tetrahydrofuran lignans (3 and 4), and other 16 known lignans were isolated first time from M. biondii. The antiallergic effects of compounds 1-33 on mouse bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMCs) degrunaliton were evaluated and results showed that compounds 7, 8, 13, 15 and 18 could significantly inhibited β-hex release on BMMCs. The results proved that furofuran and tetrahydrofuran lignans were the main constituents in M. biondii and their antiallergic effects were related with suppressing mast cell activation. In recent years, petal blight disease caused by pathogens has become increasingly epidemic in Rhododendron. Breeding disease-resistant rhododendron is considered to be a more environmentally friendly strategy than is the use of chemical reagents. In this study, we aimed to investigate the response mechanisms of rhododendron varieties to petal blight, using transcriptomics and metabolomics analyses. Specifically, we monitored changes in gene expression and metabolite accumulation in Rhododendron 'Xiaotaohong' petals infected with the Alternaria sp. strain (MR-9). The infection of MR-9 led to the development of petal blight and induced significant changes in gene transcription. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were predominantly enriched in the plant–pathogen interaction pathway. These DEGs were involved in carrying out stress responses, with genes associated with H2O2 production being up-regulated during the early and late stages of infection. Correspondingly, H2O2 accumulation was detected in the vicinity of the blight lesions. In addition, defense-related genes, including PR and FRK, exhibited significant up-regulated expression during the infection by MR-9. In the late stage of the infection, we also observed significant changes in differentially abundant metabolites (DAMs), including flavonoids, alkaloids, phenols, and terpenes. Notably, the levels of euscaphic acid, ganoderol A, (−)-cinchonidine, and theophylline in infected petals were 21.8, 8.5, 4.5, and 4.3 times higher, respectively, compared to the control. Our results suggest that H2O2, defense-related genes, and DAM accumulation are involved in the complex response mechanisms of Rhododendron 'Xiaotaohong' petals to MR-9 infection. These insights provide a deeper understanding of the pathogenesis of petal blight disease and may have practical implications for developing disease-resistant rhododendron varieties. Enhancing the energy storage capacity of carbon electrodes is a key challenge to developing high-performance supercapacitors. In this study, we design an oxygen-enriched hierarchical nanoporous carbon electrode using laser fabrication and subsequent electrochemical activation, which demonstrates superior energy storage capacity. The carbon electrode is first obtained through the carbonization of phenolic resin under instantaneous high temperature induced by laser, resulting in multiple ion transport channels and a specific capacitance of 64.17 mF cm–2 at the current density of 0.2 mA cm–2. To further improve the performance, electrochemical activation is successfully conducted, leading to a 12.1-fold increase of the specific capacitance of the carbon electrodes. It is found that O–CO-containing functional groups formed during the activation process significantly contribute to the high capacitance enhancement. In a 1 M H2SO4 electrolyte, the activated hierarchical nanoporous carbon electrode delivers a high specific capacitance of 778.3 mF cm–2 under the same test conditions. Additionally, the abundant porous structure and excellent reversibility of redox reaction of the oxygen-containing functional groups enable the assembled supercapacitor to obtain a specific capacitance of 45.3 mF cm–2 at the current density of 0.4 mA cm–2 and maintain a capacitance retention rate of 93.6% after 10,000 charge–discharge tests. Climate change has resulted in frequent heavy and prolonged rainfall events that exacerbate waterlogging stress, leading to the death of certain alpine Rhododendron trees. To shed light on the physiological and molecular mechanisms behind waterlogging stress in woody Rhododendron trees, we conducted a study of Rhododendron delavayi, a well-known alpine flower species. Specifically, we investigated the physiological and molecular changes that occurred in leaves of R. delavayi subjected to 30 days of waterlogging stress (WS30d), as well as subsequent post-waterlogging recovery period of 10 days (WS30d-R10d). Our findings reveal that waterlogging stress causes a significant reduction in CO2 assimilation rate, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, and maximum photochemical efficiency of PSII (Fv/Fm) in the WS30d leaves, by 91.2%, 95.3%, 93.3%, and 8.4%, respectively, when compared to the control leaves. Furthermore, the chlorophyll a and total chlorophyll content in the WS30d leaves decreased by 13.5% and 16.6%, respectively. Both WS30d and WS30d-R10d leaves exhibited excessive H2O2 accumulation, with a corresponding decrease in lignin content in the WS30d-R10d leaves. At the molecular level, purine metabolism, glutathione metabolism, photosynthesis, and photosynthesis-antenna protein pathways were found to be primarily involved in WS30d leaves, whereas phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, fatty acid metabolism, fatty acid biosynthesis, fatty acid elongation, and cutin, suberin, and wax biosynthesis pathways were significantly enriched in WS30d-R10d leaves. Additionally, both WS30d and WS30d-R10d leaves displayed a build-up of sugars. Overall, our integrated transcriptomic, physiological, and metabolomic analysis demonstrated that R. delavayi is susceptible to waterlogging stress, which causes irreversible detrimental effects on both its physiological and molecular aspects, hence compromising the tree's ability to fully recover, even under normal growth conditions. Liver cancer is a common malignancy of the digestive system. Introduction: Normal stress myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) carries a favourable prognosis. Conversely, elevated coronary artery calcium (CAC) is associated with increased major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE). There is limited information on the prognosis and management of patients with elevated CAC and normal MPI. We aimed to assess the outcomes of patients with elevated CAC and normal MPI in relation to post-MPI statin use. Methods: A retrospective review of normal MPI with CAC score >300 was performed between 1 March 2016 and 31 January 2017 in a Singapore tertiary hospital. Patients with known atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease or left ventricular ejection fraction <50% on MPI were excluded. Patient demographics, prescriptions and MACE (cardiac death, nonfatal myocardial infarction and/or ischaemic stroke) at 24 months after MPI were traced using electronic records. Binary logistic regression was used to evaluate for independent predictors of MACE. Results: We included 311 patients (median age 71 years, 56.3% male), of whom 65.0% were on moderate to high-intensity statins (MHIS) after MPI. MACE was significantly lower in the post-MPI MHIS group (3.5% vs. 9.2%, P = 0.035). On univariate binary logistic regression, post-MPI MHIS use was the only significant predictor for MACE (odds ratio [OR] 0.355 [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.131-0.962], P = 0.042), even after multivariate adjustment (adjusted OR 0.363, 95% confidence interval 0.134-0.984, P = 0.046). Considering the continuous development of electronic equipment superintegration and miniaturization, difunctional materials that have both effective heat management and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding performance are urgently required. Herein, sandwich-type phase change composites (STPCCs) with efficient heat management and temperature-regulated electromagnetic interference shielding performance were designed and prepared through an easy pressing process, in which an expanded graphite (EG)/multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) hybrid porous scaffold adsorbed the phase-change material eicosane (ES) was the middle layer, and polyvinylidene fluoride/ferric oxide (PVDF/Fe3O4) magnetic spinning films were the top and bottom layers. Due to the multiple synergistic effects among the sandwich structure, carbon materials, Fe3O4 and ES, the resulting STPCCs displayed high volume conductivity (135 S cm−1) and excellent EMI shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) (98.4 dB). Impressively, above the phase transition temperature of ES, the volume electrical conductivity of STPCCs increased to 146.2 S cm−1, their EMI SE increased to 115.75 dB, and their absorption shielding accounted for 85.2% of the total shielding in the X-band, significantly showing a temperature-regulated EMI shielding performance and outperforming most of the reported the synthetic equivalents. Background. Sepsis, which could cause a systemic inflammatory response, is a life-threatening disease with a high morbidity and mortality rate. There is evidence that brain injury may be related to severe systemic infection induced by sepsis. The brain injury caused by sepsis could increase the risk of mortality in septic patients, which seriously affects the septic patient's prognosis of survival. Although there remains a focus on sepsis research, clinical measures to prevent and treat brain injury in sepsis are not yet available, and the high mortality rate is still a big health burden. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the new molecules or regulated pathways that can effectively inhibit the progress of sepsis. Objective. NLR family pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) increased in the procession of sepsis and functioned as the key regulator of pyroptosis. Heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) can protect organs from multiorgan dysfunction syndrome induced by lipopolysaccharides in mice, and NLRP3 could be inhibited by HSF1 in many organs. However, whether HSF1 regulated NLRP3 in sepsis-induced brain injury, as well as the detailed mechanism of HSF1 in brain injury, remains unknown in the sepsis model. In this research, we try to explore the relationship between HSF1 and NLRP3 in a sepsis model and try to reveal the mechanism of HSF1 inhibiting the process of brain injury. Methods. In this study, we used wild-type mice and hsf1-/- mice for in vivo research and PC12 cells for in vitro research. Real-time PCR and Western blot were used to analyze the expression of HSF1, NLRP3, cytokines, and pyrolytic proteins. EthD-III staining was chosen to detect the pyroptosis of the hippocampus and PC12 cells. Results. The results showed that HSF1 is negatively related to pyroptosis. The pyroptosis in cells of brain tissue was significantly increased in the hsf1-/- mouse model compared to hsf1+/+ mice. In PC12 cells, hsf1 siRNA can upregulate pyroptosis while HSF1-transfected plasmid could inhibit the pyroptosis. HSF1 could negatively regulate the NLRP3 pathway in PC12 cells, while hsf1 siRNA enhanced the pyroptosis in PC12 cells, which could be reversed by nlrp3 siRNA. Conclusion. These results imply that HSF1 could alleviate sepsis-induced brain injury by inhibiting pyroptosis through the NLRP3-dependent pathway in brain tissue and PC12 cells, suggesting HSF1 as a potential molecular target for treating brain injury in sepsis clinical studies. Cell death is a fundamental pathophysiological process in human disease. The discovery of necroptosis, a form of regulated necrosis that is induced by the activation of death receptors and formation of necrosome, represents a major breakthrough in the field of cell death in the past decade. Z-DNA-binding protein (ZBP1) is an interferon (IFN)-inducing protein, initially reported as a double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) sensor, which induces an innate inflammatory response. Recently, ZBP1 was identified as an important sensor of necroptosis during virus infection. It connects viral nucleic acid and receptor-interacting protein kinase 3 (RIPK3) via two domains and induces the formation of a necrosome. Recent studies have also reported that ZBP1 induces necroptosis in non-viral infections and mediates necrotic signal transduction by a unique mechanism. This review highlights the discovery of ZBP1 and its novel findings in necroptosis and provides an insight into its critical role in the crosstalk between different types of cell death, which may represent a new therapeutic option. Telerehabilitation, or the delivery of rehabilitation using information and communication technologies, may improve timely and equitable access to rehabilitation services at home. A systematic literature review was conducted of studies that formally documented the costs and effects of home-based telerehabilitation versus in-person rehabilitation across all health conditions. Six electronic databases were searched from inception to 13 July 2021 (APA, PsycInfo, CINAHL, Embase, EmCare, Medline (Ovid), and PubMed) using a protocol developed by a medical librarian. A quality appraisal of full economic evaluation studies was conducted using the Drummond 10-point quality checklist. Thirty-five studies were included in this review covering various rehabilitation types and diverse populations. The majority were published in the last six years. Available evidence suggests that telerehabilitation may result in similar or lower costs as compared to in-person rehabilitation for the health care system and for patients. However, the impact of telerehabilitation on long-term clinical outcomes and health-related quality of life remains unclear. More high quality and robust economic evaluations exploring the short- and long-term costs and other impacts of telerehabilitation on patients, caregivers, and health care systems across all types of patient populations are still required. Home-based telerehabilitation may reduce barriers in access to care for individuals living in the community. Economic analyses can inform health care system decision-making by evaluating the costs and effects associated with telerehabilitation. Aiming at the challenge of reproducing the continuous casting (CC) steel in the laboratory, we developed a novel physical simulator to simulate the solidification process of CC slab. One characteristic physical simulation (PS) sample was obtained from the physical simulator, whose cooling intensity was controlled by cooling water to simulate the heat transfer of the CC slab. The simulation accuracy and reliability were verified by comparing the similarities of surface heat flux and solidification structure between the PS sample and the CC slab. The results demonstrate that the PS sample could accurately reproduce the heat transfer and solidification process of the CC slab. In the mold cooling stage, a similar air gap rapidly formed on both the PS sample and CC slab surface, leading to a similarly sharp reduction in the heat flux. In the stage corresponding to secondary cooling zone, the heat transfer on the PS sample surface via a thickening air gap was also basically similar to that on the CC slab surface through a vapor film, resulting in a similarly slow decrease in the heat flux. Additionally, the PS sample has similar solidification structure characteristics with the CC slab due to heat transfer similarity. Particularly, the crystal zone proportion, columnar to equiaxed transition position, and variation trends of dendrite arm spacing and Mo segregation in both were almost identical. Mechanized production plays an important role in fulfilling food security demands during the period of labor shortage. Despite its benefits, the mechanical transplanted method (MET) has not been widely adopted due to a lack of awareness. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of the MET, the manual transplanted method (MAT), and the directed seeded method (DS) on rice yield and quality in farmers' fields. A two-years field experiment (2016 and 2017) and a one-year survey (2020) were conducted to compare rice yield and quality among the MAT, MET, and DS methods. MET exhibited a higher-yielding population, increased biomass production, enhanced yield, and improved grain quality, compared with MAT. Moreover, japonica rice in MET (MET-JR) produced the maximum yield, 0.6 t hm−2 to 3.1 t hm−2 higher than in other treatments. However, japonica rice showed a poorer appearance quality than indica rice, as well as large panicle size (grains number per panicle ≥ 190); hybrid indica rice (HIR) also presented a high yield with poor appearance quality. These results confirmed that the application of MET could be useful in attaining high panicles per m2, high biomass production, high rice yield, and considerably improved rice quality in farmers' fields under labor shortage circumstances. Furthermore, it is also imperative to consider balancing the yield and quality of japonica rice and large panicle HIR and employing MET at a broader scale in China, as well as other developing countries having rice–based cropping systems. Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is cultivated in a wide range of climatic conditions, thereby inducing great variations in the rice growth, yield and quality. However, the comprehensive effects of temperature and solar radiation under different ecological regions on the rice growth, yield and quality are not well understood, especially in a middle rice cropping system. The rice growth, yield- and quality-related traits were investigated under different ecological regions. Among different areas, the days before the heading stage and after the heading stage of six cultivars ranged from 80 to 120 and from 30 to 50. The gaps of the grain yield, head rice rate, chalky grain rate and chalkiness level were about 1.2–52.4%, 1.0–3.0%, 2.7–12.7% and 0.3–4.5%, respectively. This study demonstrated that in these regions, temperature is a limiting factor compared with radiation. Moreover, the rice growth, yield and quality were closely associated with daily air (DT), maximum (MaT), minimum (MiT) and effective accumulated temperatures (EAT). An excellent rice growth, a high grain yield and an excellent quality could be achieved if the EAT was higher than 1592 °C·d and the MiT was lower than 23.1 °C before the heading stage, and if the DT, MiT and MaT were lower than 25.7 °C, 22.0 °C and 30 °C after the heading stage, respectively. Objective. Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) is a common autoimmune disease of the peripheral nervous system, and there is still no effective treatment for GBS. This investigation intends to figure out the effect and mechanism of N-type voltage-gated calcium (Cav2.2) channels on neuropathic pain in GBS. Methods. An experimental autoimmune neuritis (EAN) model was established in Lewis rats induced by myelin P253-78 peptide and complete Freund's adjuvant. Luxol fast blue (LFB) staining was used for observing the degree of cell infiltration and demyelination in the sciatic nerve of rats, ELISA for detecting IL-6 and TNF-α expression in the serum, qRT-PCR, and Western blot for measuring the expression of iNOS, MCP-1, and Cav2.2 in the sciatic nerve, respectively. Results. EAN led to significant decreases in the mechanical withdrawal threshold, thermal withdrawal threshold, and mechanical hyperalgesia threshold and an increase in the withdrawal threshold to cold stimulation. The serum IL-6 and TNF-α expression was significantly increased, and the mRNA and protein expression of iNOS, MCP-1, and Cav2.2 in the sciatic nerve were significantly increased in the EAN rats. However, silencing Cav2.2 expression could significantly reverse the above EAN-caused results. Conclusion. Silencing Cav2.2 expression can significantly reduce the clinical score, pathological injury, and mechanical allodynia, reducing the release of inflammatory factors, thus improving neuropathic pain in EAN rats. Background: With the recent shift in focus to addressing HIV risk within relationships and couple-based interventions to prevent HIV transmission, successful recruitment of individuals involved in HIV-serodiscordant relationships is crucial. This paper evaluates methods used by the Positive Plus One (PP1) study to recruit and collect data on a diverse national sample of dyads and individuals involved in current or past HIV-serodiscordant relationships, discusses the strengths and limitations of the recruitment approach, and makes recommendations to inform the interpretation of study results and the design of future studies.Methods: PP1 used a multi-pronged approach to recruit adults involved in a current or past HIV-serodiscordant relationship in Canada from 2016 to 2018 to complete a survey and an interview. Upon survey completion, index (first recruited) partners were invited to recruit their primary current HIV-serodiscordant partner. We investigated participant enrollment by recruitment source, participant-, relationship-, and dyad-level sociodemographic characteristics, missing data, and correlates of participation for individuals recruited by their partners.Results: We recruited 613 participants (355 HIV-positive; 258 HIV-negative) across 10 Canadian provinces, including 153 complete dyads and 307 individuals who participated alone, and representing 460 HIV-serodiscordant relationships. Among those in current relationships, HIV-positive participants were more likely than HIV-negative participants to learn of the study through an ASO staff member (36% v. 20%, p < 0.001), ASO listserv/newsletter (12% v. 5%, p = 0.007), or physician/staff at a clinic (20% v. 11%, p = 0.006). HIV-negative participants involved in current relationships were more likely than HIV-positive participants to learn of the study through their partner (46% v. 8%, p < 0.001). Seventy-eight percent of index participants invited their primary HIV-serodiscordant partner to participate, and 40% were successful. Successful recruitment of primary partners was associated with longer relationship duration, higher relationship satisfaction, and a virally suppressed HIV-positive partner.Conclusions: Our findings provide important new information on and support the use of a multi-pronged approach to recruit HIV-positive and HIV-negative individuals involved in HIV-serodiscordant relationships in Canada. More creative strategies are needed to help index partners recruit their partner in relationships with lower satisfaction and shorter duration and further minimize the risk of "happy couple" bias. Copper sulfide (CuxS) as a plasmonic solar photothermal semiconductor material that expands the light collection range by altering localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) to the near- to mid- infrared (IR) spectral region. The versatile synthesis strategies of CuxS nanostructure offer its variability of morphology and provide additional freedom in tuning the optical property. Particularly, nanocage (or nanoshell) has hybridized plasmon resonances as a result of super-positioned nanosphere and nanocavity, which extends its receiving range of solar spectrum and increases light-to-heat conversion rate. Here, we offer novel "nanoink" and "nanofilm" developed from colloidal Cu27S24 nanocages with excellent solar photothermal response. Via combining experimental measurement and theoretical calculation, we estimated the optical properties of covellite Cu27S24. And based on obtained dielectric functions, we then calculated its solar photothermal performance, which was further validated by our experimental measurement. The simulation results showed that hollow Cu27S24 nanocages have excellent solar photothermal performance, and exhibit much higher solar photothermal conversion efficiency than solid Cu27S24 nanospheres. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are crucial drivers in the progression of human diseases such as myocardial infarction (MI). However, the impact of lncRNA MCM3AP antisense RNA 1 (MCM3AP-AS1) on MI remains unknown. This research was determined to explore the effect of MCM3AP-AS1 modulating microRNA-24-3p (miR-24-3p) and eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4 gamma 2 (EIF4G2) on MI. The rat MI models were constructed and, respectively, treated with altered MCM3AP-AS1, miR-24-3p or/and EIF4G2. Subsequently, the cardiac function, myocardial pathological injury, malondialdehyde content and superoxide dismutase activity were determined. The vascular endothelial cells (VECs) were isolated and treated severally, and then proliferation and migration of VECs were measured. MCM3AP-AS1, miR-24-3p, EIF4G2 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expressions in myocardial tissues and VECs were assessed. MCM3AP-AS1 and EIF4G2 were upregulated while miR-24-3p and VEGF were downregulated in MI rat myocardial tissues. MCM3AP-AS1 silencing or miR-24-3p elevation improved cardiac function and myocardial pathological injury, suppressed malondialdehyde content, and also enhanced VEGF expression and superoxide dismutase activity in MI rats. In VECs, downregulated MCM3AP-AS1 or upregulated miR-24-3p accelerated cell proliferation and migration. These effects of miR-24-3p upregulation were reversed by overexpressed EIF4G2. Occupational overexposure to manganese (Mn) produces Parkinson's disease-like manganism. Acute Mn intoxication in rats causes dopaminergic neuron loss, impairment of motor activity and reduction of the expression of Park2/Parkin. The expression of Park2/Parkin is also reduced. Whether these changes are reversible after cessation of Mn exposure is unknown, and is the goal of this investigation. Adult male rats were injected with Mn2+ at doses 1 mg/kg and 5 mg/kg in the form of MnCl2·4H2O, every other day for one-month to produce acute Mn neurotoxicity. For a half of rats Mn exposure was suspended for recovery for up to 5 months. Mn neurotoxicity was evaluated by the accumulation of Mn in blood and brain, behavioral activities, dopaminergic neuron loss, and the expression of Park2/Parkin in the blood cells and brain. Dose-dependent Mn neurotoxicity in rats was evidenced by Mn accumulation, rotarod impairments, reduction of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH)-positive neurons in the substantia nigra, decreased level of Park2 mRNA in the blood and brain, and decreased Parkin protein in the brain. After cessation of Mn exposure, the amount of Park2 mRNA in the blood started to increase one month after the recovery. After 5-month of recovery, blood and brain Mn returned to normal, rotarod activity recovered, the reduction of TH-positive dopaminergic neurons ameliorated, and the level of Park2 mRNA in the blood and Park2/Parkin in the midbrain and striatum were returned to the normal. Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is an autoimmune disease that attacks pancreatic β-cells, leading to the destruction of insulitis-related islet β-cells. Islet β-cell transplantation has been proven as a curative measure in T1DM. However, a logarithmic increase in the global population with diabetes, limited donor supply, and the need for lifelong immunosuppression restrict the widespread use of β-cell transplantation. Numerous therapeutic approaches have been taken to search for substitutes of β-cells, among which stem cell transplantation is one of the most promising alternatives. Stem cells have demonstrated the potential efficacy to treat T1DM by reconstitution of immunotolerance and preservation of islet β-cell function in recent research. cGMP-grade stem cell products have been used in human clinical trials, showing that stem cell transplantation has beneficial effects on T1DM, with no obvious adverse reactions. To better achieve remission of T1DM by stem cell transplantation, in this work, we explain the progression of stem cell transplantation such as mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), human embryonic stem cells (hESCs), and bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells (BM-HSCs) to restore the immunotolerance and preserve the islet β-cell function of T1DM in recent years. Heteroatom doping of graphene electrodes is a valid strategy to enhance their capacitive performance. This work demonstrates a facile and expandable methodology for the in situ fabrication of nitrogen-doped laser-induced graphene (N-LIG) by the precursor composite approach in conjunction with laser induction technology. Melamine (C3H6N6) with high N content was compounded with polyimide to form a composite film, on which N-LIG was synthesized by one-step in situ laser pyrolysis. In this process, N elements from melamine were successfully doped into the graphene structure. As a result, the optimal N-LIG electrode exhibited a desirable specific areal capacitance (CA) of 56.3 mF cm−2 at 0.4 mA cm−2 in 1 M H2SO4 aqueous electrolyte, which was 7.2 times that of the pristine undoped LIG electrode. Besides, the N-LIG electrode obtained on the composite film kept good flexibility, which laid a foundation for the industrial roll to roll production of N-LIG. Furthermore, the N-LIG-based all-solid-state micro-supercapacitor (MSC) revealed a high CA of up to 35.20 mF cm−2 at 0.05 mA cm−2 and an impressive cyclic stability of 85.5% after 10 000 cycles. This presented strategy possesses the advantages of environmental protection, economy and convenience, and exhibits a broad application prospect in flexible wearable electronics and energy storage devices. Primary insomnia (PI) is among the most prevalent sleep-related disorders and has a far-reaching impact on daytime functioning. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has drawn attention because of its effectiveness and safety. The purpose of the current study was to detect changes in the topological organization of whole-brain functional networks and to determine their associations with the clinical treatment effects of rTMS. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rsfMRI) data from 32 patients with PI were collected and compared with findings from 32 age- and gender-matched healthy controls (HCs). The patients were treated with Stanford accelerated intelligent neuromodulation therapy, which is a recently validated neuroscience-informed accelerated intermittent theta-burst stimulation protocol. Graph theoretical analysis was used to construct functional connectivity matrices and to extract the attribute features of small-world networks in insomnia. Scores on the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Self-Rating Anxiety Scale, Self-Rating Depression Scale, and the associations between these clinical characteristics and functional metrics, were the primary outcomes. At baseline, the patients with PI showed inefficient small-world property and aberrant functional segregation and functional integration compared with the HCs. These properties showed renormalization after individualized rTMS treatment. Furthermore, low functional connectivity between the right insula and left medial frontal gyrus correlated with improvement in ISI scores.
