The micro-discharge effect limits the development of high-frequency microwave power components to miniaturization and integration. Therefore, it has become a focus of research to effectively suppress the micro-discharge effect, increase the micro-discharge threshold, and strengthen the environmental stability of high-frequency microwave devices. In this study, different elemental ratios of carbon (C)/silver (Ag)/titanium (Ti) composite films were obtained by multi-target magnetron co-sputtering technology and then systematically analyzed for micro-discharge effects. When the doping ratio of C/Ag/Ti was 3.538/1/0.013, the corresponding maximum secondary electron emission coefficient (δmax) decreased to 1.01 owing to the suppression of secondary electron emission by the increase in the content of sp2 hybrid bond. The micro-discharge threshold of Ku band waveguide filters coated with moderate C/Ag/Ti composite films showed an optimal performance of 10 000−12 500 W, which was increased by approximately 20 times. Moreover, the microstructure of the composite films exhibited higher density and flatness with a tiny increase in the titanium doping ratio, representing good environmental stability. Thus, the effective suppression of the secondary electron emission yield, significant improvement in the micro-discharge threshold, and enhancement of the environment stability of microwave components could be realized simultaneously by reasonably controlling the content of titanium in silver and titanium co-doped carbon-based composite films. Background: The COVID‐19 pandemic is an unprecedented health crisis that has affected in vitro fertilization practices globally. Previous studies have shown that SARS‐CoV‐2 impacts the quality of embryos by inducing an immunological response in infertile patients. In this study, the early embryonic development of SARS‐CoV‐2‐infected infertile patients was investigated. Methods: Sixty‐five SARS‐CoV‐2 infected infertile patients and 258 controls were involved in this study. The major outcome parameters for the cycle were analyzed, including the number of oocytes, maturation oocytes, available embryos per cycle, and embryo morpho kinetic characteristics. Results: From SARS‐CoV‐2 infection until oocyte retrieval, it took an average of 6.63 days. The results revealed that the number of oocytes and high‐quality embryos on day 3 dramatically reduced in SARS‐CoV‐2‐infected infertile patients. SARS‐CoV‐2 was detected in the follicular fluid of three infertile patients. SARS‐CoV‐2 infection had negatively impacted the number of oocytes in multivariate linear regression models. The early embryonic development in the SARS‐CoV‐2 infection group had a noticeable delay from the six‐cell stage to blastocyst stage. Conclusions: SARS‐CoV‐2 infection reduced the number of oocytes and high‐quality embryos on day 3. Featured Application: The research provides a theoretical reference for transformer closing-control strategies, in which the superposition effect decreases as the reclosing interval increases. When a transformer suffers a permanent fault, it will suffer a short-circuit impulse again after reclosing. If the previous vibration of the winding is not attenuated completely and the winding is subjected to a secondary impulse within a short time, the secondary vibration response will have a superposition. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of the anti-short-circuit ability of operational transformers subjected to a secondary short-circuit current impulse. In this paper, a model is established for calculating axial vibration in transformer windings and effects on the vibration response of windings under different closing phase angles and short-circuit intervals are analyzed. The results show that the vibration acceleration of windings is a V-shaped variation at phase angles from 0° to 180°, reaching the maximum values at 0° and 180° and reaching the minimum value at 90°. When the transformer recloses on a permanent short circuit, due to the superposition effect, the vibration acceleration amplitude of the secondary impulse will be greater than that of the primary impulse, but as the reclosing interval increases, the superposition effect decreases continuously. When the interval is 600 ms, the superposition effect for the vibration acceleration of the secondary impulse attenuates to 83.3%. The superposition effect is not significant after 600 ms. Aims: Cropland revegetation is an effective measure to curb soil erosion on eroding hillslopes and increase farmers' income at depositional check dams. However, how soil microbial metabolic limitation responds to cropland revegetation in erosion and deposition landscapes remains poorly understood, which has substantial implications for carbon (C) retention and nutrient cycling in the eroding environment. Methods: We sampled 0–2 m soils in cropland and revegetated forest and grassland at upslopes and check dams in the hilly-gully region of the Loess Plateau, China. The activities of soil C-, nitrogen (N)-, and phosphorus (P)-acquiring enzymes were analyzed. The improved enzyme vector model (V-T model) based on balance points was used to quantify microbial metabolic limitations based on ecoenzymatic stoichiometry. Results: Microorganisms suffered from no energy (C) limitation, but the relative microbial C limitation was greater in revegetated forest than in cropland. At upslopes, the revegetated forest was primarily limited by P, while the revegetated grassland and cropland were limited by N, which was indicated by the VTN/P limitation values of 4.35, -2.74, and − 1.87, respectively. Microbial P limitation was greater in deep soils of revegetated forest due to the assimilation of P by the root system. At check dams, land-use change had no significant influence on microbial N/P limitations owing to abundant soil C and nutrients and a wet environment. Conclusion: Concludingly, cropland revegetation had a weaker influence on microbial metabolic limitation at the lower-lying topography, which compensates for the current understanding of resource restrictions on microorganisms at slopes or flat areas. Ferroelectric memory is one of the most attractive emerging nonvolatile memory. Conventional methods to increase storage density in ferroelectrics include reducing the storage bit size or fabricating 3D stacks. However, the former will face a physical limit finally, and the integration of single‐crystalline ferroelectric oxide following the latter still remains a great challenge. Here, a new method is introduced to construct a scroll‐like 3D memory structure by self‐rolling‐up single‐crystalline ferroelectric oxides. PbZr0.3Ti0.7O3 single‐crystalline thin film is chosen as a prototype and epitaxially grown on another oxide stressor layer with a few lattice‐mismatch. Releasing such "Pb(Zr, Ti)O3/stressor" bilayered structure from the substrate induces self‐rolling‐up due to the internal stress from the lattice‐mismatch. High‐density information can be written in the form of switched ferroelectric domains on those flat "Pb(Zr, Ti)O3/stressor" membranes via piezoelectric force microscopy. In self‐rolling‐up membranes, information density can be experimentally enhanced up to 45 times. Theoretically, the freestanding "Pb(Zr, Ti)O3/stressor" membranes have a strongly driven force to self‐rolling‐up, and the area ratio can enhance 100–450 times, corresponding to an ultra‐high density information storage of 102 Tbit In−2. Deep soil organic carbon (SOC) plays an important role in carbon cycling. Precisely predicting deep SOC at the regional scale is crucial for the accurate assessment of carbon sequestration potential in soils but has been challenging for a century. Herein, we developed a depth distribution function-based empirical approach to predict SOC in deep soils at the regional scale. We validated this approach with a dataset from four regions of the world and examined the application of this approach in China's Loess Plateau. We found that among the reported depth distribution functions describing vertical patterns of SOC, the negative exponential function performed best in fitting SOC along the soil profile in various regions. Moreover, the parameters (i.e., Ce and k) of the negative exponential function were linearly correlated to surface SOC (0–20 cm) and the changing rates of SOC within the topsoil (0–40 cm). Based on the above relationships, the empirical equations for predicting the negative exponential parameters are established. The validation results from site-specific and regional dataset showed that combining the negative exponential function and such empirical equations can precisely predict SOC concentration in soils down to 500 cm depth. Our study provides a simple, rapid and accurate method for predicting deep soil SOC at the regional scale, which could simplify the assessment of deep soil SOC in various regions. To improve the performances of AlGaN solar‐blind ultraviolet (UV) avalanche photodetectors (APDs), we propose a separate absorption and multiplication (SAM) AlGaN APD with a gradually doped charge layer. The calculation results indicate that the designed APD can significantly increase the maximum gain by almost 40%, and reduce the breakdown voltage by about 9% compared with the conventional AlGaN APD. The parameters of multiplication layer and p‐type layer are optimized, and the physical mechanism is described in detail, which provides theoretical guidance for high‐performance device structure design and experimental preparation. Soil erosion is a major form of land degradation, especially in agroecosystems, which has been effectively controlled by vegetation restoration. However, the interactive role of erosion and cropland revegetation on soil enzyme activities and microbial nutrient limitations is less understood. To address this issue, we examined carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and phosphorus (P) in bulk soils and microbial biomass, enzyme activities, and microbial nutrient limitations in the 0–200 cm soils in eroded and deposited landscapes occupied by cropland, revegetated forest, and grassland. The results showed that the activities of C-, N-, and P-acquiring enzymes were larger in the deposited landscape than in the eroded landscape for 0–20 cm soils in forest and grassland but not in cropland. Microbial metabolism was co-limited by N and P, and the threshold element ratio (TERL) indicated that P was the most limiting factor. Microbial N limitation was lower in the deposited than the eroded zone, especially in surface soils in revegetated forest and grassland. The TERL value was larger at the deposited than at the eroded zone, and a greater difference was found in the surface soils of forest and grassland. Microbial nutrient limitations were mostly explained by C/P and N/P. Conclusively, the deposited areas were characterized by ameliorated enzyme activities, decreased microbial N limitation but relatively strengthened microbial P limitation compared to the eroded area, and such variations existed in the revegetated forest and grassland but not in the cropland, which thus contributes to a better understanding of C and nutrient cycling for agroecosystems and revegetation ecosystems in eroded environments. The crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) cable safety is affected by environmental factors and artificial defects during operation. This work proposes an improved locating method based on broadband impedance spectrum (BIS) to locate local defects in XLPE cables. The calculation process of the algorithm has been analyzed. The selection of the incident Gaussian signal and the peak recognition method have been discussed, where the pulse width of the Gaussian signal was found to be determined primarily by the upper limit frequency of the traveling wave transmitting in the cable. The centroid and function fitting methods were established to reduce the peak recognition error caused by the test sampling rate. This work verified the accuracy of the algorithm through experiments. A vector network analyzer (VNA) was used to test the BIS of the cable. A 20 m-long cable containing abrasion and an inserted nail with different depths was measured in the BIS test. It was found that the abrasion and the nail could be located. The locating deviation of abrasion was within ±1%, and the centroid and function fitting methods could effectively reduce the locating deviation. The locating deviation was within ±1% when the depth of the nail inserted into the cable accounted for less than 50% of the insulation thickness. When the depth exceeded 75% of the insulation thickness, the deviation of each method was more significant, and the maximum absolute value of the deviation was 4%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Electrical treeing is one of the main causes of crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) cable failure. The current methods for locating electrical trees are mainly based on the partial discharge (PD) signal. However, PD signals are easily attenuated in the long cable and the PD test voltage may cause damage to the insulation. This work proposes an improved broadband impedance spectrum (BIS) method to locate electrical trees in XLPE cable. A mathematical model of a long cable containing local electrical tree degradation is established. The Gaussian signal is chosen as the simulated incident signal to reduce the spectral leakage. The location spectrum is obtained by multiplying the frequency domain function of the single-ended reflection coefficient and the Gaussian pulse. It has been found that the location spectrum of the local capacitance change can be characterized as a typical double-peak waveform and the spectrum of the local conductance change can be regarded as a typical single-peak waveform. Electrical tree experiments at different temperatures were carried out to initiate different types of electrical trees. A vector network analyzer (VNA) was used to test the high frequency capacitance characteristics in the treeing process. The location spectra of the 20 m long cable containing different types of electrical trees was calculated by the improved location algorithm. The results show that the location error of local electrical tree degradation is less than 3%. The capacitance of the sliced sample decreases with treeing time. The effect of the bush-pine tree on capacitance parameters is greater than that of the branch-pine tree. Human body temperature not only reflects vital signs, but also affects the state of various organs through blood circulation, and even affects lifespan. Here a wireless body temperature detection scheme was presented that the temperature was extracted by investigating the out-of-plane (OP) ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) field of 10.2 nm thick La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) film using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) technique. Within the range of 34–42 °C, the OP FMR field changes linearly with the increasing or decreasing temperature, and this variation comes from the linear responses of magnetization to the fluctuant temperature. Using this method, a tiny temperature change (< 0.1 °C) of organisms can be detected accurately and sensitively, which shows great potential in body temperature monitoring for humans and mammals. Obesity is associated with an increasing tendency which is a typical metabolic syndrome resulting from metabolic disorders due to the excessive food intake, and thus leading to a citical threat to human health. Studies were proved that food reward was an important factor affecting feeding behavior and played a key role in the occurrence and development of obesity. Recent studies indicated that brain-gut peptide, leptin, insulin and gut microflora could directly or indirectly regulate appetite and stabilize body weight through dialogue between intestine and brain, which mediated a crucial role in preventing obesity. Two-dimensional (2D) MoS2 was grown on AlGaN(GaN) substrates by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and 2D-3D MoS2-AlGaN(GaN) heterostructures were formed. The MoS2 crystal on AlGaN surface has a mixed and irregular shape including single and multiple layers, while the single layer of triangular MoS2 is basically prepared on GaN surface. Combined with theoretical first-principles analysis, it is found the adsorption of AlGaN to MoS2 is lower than that of GaN, which leads to the deposition of MoS2 molecules on AlGaN surface, forming multilayer shapes. The noise caused by rail corrugation seriously affects the operation quality of metro vehicles. In this work, the rail corrugation, interior noise and wheel–rail noise of a metro line were tested, and the test results were compared with those after two kinds of treatments. The results show that rail corrugation is the main cause of the abnormal interior noise. The interior noise in many sections exceeds the limit, where clear rail corrugations from 31.5~63 mm are found. When the train passes through the rail corrugation section, the interior noise shows a clear increase, and the maximum increase is higher than 25 dB(A). After increasing the lateral stiffness of the track and rail grinding, the interior noise is reduced by 11.4 dB(A). After a long renovation time, the interior noise is effectively equal to that when the renovation was completed. In the current in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer protocol, the 8 blastomeres in the day-3 embryo are selected for transfer because these embryos can produce high rates of blastocyst formation and clinical pregnancy. However, the relationship between the blastomere number in day-2 embryos and the rate of blastocyst formation or clinical pregnancy remains unclear. The purpose of this retrospective study is to explore the relationship between the blastomere number in day-2 embryos and the rate of blastocyst formation or clinical pregnancy. From January 2015 to April 2020, we collected 8126 day-3 embryos (8 blastomeres) from 2282 patients. These embryos were classified into 8 groups (1 blastomere, 2 blastomeres, 3 blastomeres, 4 blastomeres, 5 blastomeres, 6 blastomeres, 7 blastomeres, and 8 blastomeres) based on their blastomeres number on day 2 after insemination. Of these groups, the 4 blastomeres group accounted for the largest proportion (74.44%). The 1 blastomere group accounted for the smallest proportion (0.22%). A total of 3554 day-3 embryos (8 blastomeres) from 1648 patients developed into blastocysts. The rate of blastocyst formation from the 4 blastomeres group was the highest (94.06%). Finally, 800 patients received single day-3 embryos (8 blastomeres) transfer. The rate of clinical pregnancy from 4 blastomeres group was the highest (51.98%). Periodontitis is closely related to oral cancer, but the molecular mechanism of periodontal pathogens involved in the occurrence and development of oral cancer is still inconclusive. Here, we demonstrate that, in vitro , the cell proliferation ability and S phase cells of the periodontitis group (colonized by Porphyromonas gingivalis and Fusobacterium nucleatum , P+) significantly increased, but the G1 cells were obviously reduced. The animal models with an in situ oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and periodontitis-associated bacteria treatment were constructed, and micro-CT showed that the alveolar bone resorption of mice in the P+ group (75.3 ± 4.0 μm) increased by about 53% compared with that in the control group (48.8 ± 1.3 μm). The tumor mass and tumor growth rate in the P+ group were all higher than those in the blank control group. Hematoxylin–eosin (H&E) staining of isolated tumor tissues showed that large-scale flaky necrosis was found in the tumor tissue of the P+ group, with lots of damaged vascular profile and cell debris. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of isolated tumor tissues showed that the expression of Ki67 and the positive rate of cyclin D1 were significantly higher in tumor tissues of the P+ group. The qRT-PCR results of the expression of inflammatory cytokines in oral cancer showed that periodontitis-associated bacteria significantly upregulated interleukin (IL)-6, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, IL-18, apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD (ASC) (up to six times), and caspase-1 (up to four times), but it downregulated nuclear factor (NF)-κB, NOD-, LRR- and pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3), and IL-1β (less than 0.5 times). In addition, the volume of spleen tissue and the number of CD4+ T cells, CD8+ T cells, and CD206+ macrophages in the P+ group increased significantly. IHC and Western blotting in tumor tissues showed that expression levels of γ-H2AX, p-ATR, RPA32, CHK1, and RAD51 were upregulated, and the phosphorylation level of CHK1 (p-chk1) was downregulated. Together, we identify that the periodontitis-related bacteria could promote tumor growth and proliferation, initiate the overexpressed NLRP3, and activate upstream signal molecules of ATR-CHK1. Mannose induces tumor cell apoptosis and inhibits glucose metabolism by accumulating intracellularly as mannose 6-phosphate while the drug sensitivity of tumors is negatively correlated with mannose phosphate isomerase gene (MPI) expression. In this study, we performed a first attempt to explore the relationship between the targeted gene MPI and immune infiltration and genetic and clinical characteristics of head and neck squamous carcinoma (HNSC) using computational algorithms and bioinformatic analysis, and further to verify the co-inhibition effects of mannose with genotoxicity, immune responses, and microbes dysbiosis in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) in vitro and in vivo. Our results found that patients with lower MPI expression had higher survival rate. The enhancement of MPI expression was in response to DNA damage gene, and ATM inhibitor was verified as a potential drug with a synergistic effect with mannose on HSC-3. In the HNSC, infiltrated immunocytes CD8+ T cell and B cell were the significantly reduced risk cells, while IL-22 and IFN-γ showed negative correlation with MPI. Finally, mannose could reverse immunophenotyping caused by antibiotics in mice, resulting in the decrease of CD8+ T cells and increase of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs). In conclusion, the MPI gene showed a significant correlation with immune infiltration and genetic and clinical characteristics of HNSC. The treatment of ATM inhibitor, immune regulating cells of CD8+ T cells and MDSCs, and oral microbiomes in combination with mannose could exhibit co-inhibitory therapeutic effect for OSCC. The thymus plays an irreplaceable role as a primary lymphoid organ. However, the complicate processes of its development and involution are incompletely understood. Accumulating evidence indicates that non‐coding RNAs play key roles in the regulation of biological development. At present, the studies of the circRNA profiles and of circRNA‐associated competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) in the thymus are still scarce. Here, deep‐RNA sequencing was used to study the biological mechanisms underlying the development process (from 2‐week‐old to 6‐week‐old) and the recession process (from 6‐week‐old to 3‐month‐old) of the mouse thymus. It was found that 196 circRNAs, 233 miRNAs and 3807 mRNAs were significantly dysregulated. The circRNA‐associated ceRNA networks were constructed in the mouse thymus, which were mainly involved in early embryonic development and the proliferation and division of T cells. Background: It is widely accepted that oral health plays an important role in overall health. Both dental and medical students are expected to possess good oral health awareness and work together for public oral health promotion especially in developing countries like China. The aim of this study was to assess the oral health knowledge, behavior and status of dental and medical undergraduate students in the first (fresh) and third year (before specialized courses) study. Methods: A self-administered structured questionnaire with 13 questions was designed based on oral health knowledge, behavior and status and a cross-sectional study was conducted among the 1st, 3rd year dental students (1DS, 3DS) and medical students (1MS, 3MS) of Sichuan University in Chengdu, China, in the period of September–December 2017. The data was analyzed by chi-square test using IBM SPSS Statistics v. 21.0. Results: The oral health behavior, consciousness and status of the 1st, 3rd year medical and dental students were not optimistic. Dental freshmen were slightly superior to the medical ones in terms of the brushing methods and the awareness of oral disease-systemic disease relationship. The junior dental students showed highly significant improvement than their counterparts, mainly in the items about frequency of brushing teeth, brushing methods of vertical scrub or Bass technique (66.3%), usage of floss or mouth wash (49.7%), causes of caries, periodontal diseases and system diseases (56.9–83.4%). The rates mentioned above were 36.1, 15.8%, 26.7–43.6% among 3MS, respectively. In terms of oral health status, significant differences were only observed in junior students. The prevalence rates of bad breath, gum bleeding, and tooth discoloration among 3DS were obviously lower than those of 3MS. However, only a total of 17.2% junior students had a good oral health, including 23.8% dental students and 11.4% medical students. Conclusions: Our study provided a new understanding of oral health knowledge, behavior and status among dental and medical students, which may help to promote the reform of oral health education and establish a model for clinicians and dentists to work together for improving oral health.
