Abstract

A new chiral layered zincophosphate [d-Co(en)3]Zn3[([H.sub.0.5]PO4)3[(HPO4)2 (ZnPO-CJ16) is hydrothermally synthesized by using the optically pure metal complex d-Co(en)3I3 as the template. The results reveal that symmetrical O...H...O H-bonds exist between inorganic sheets, which results in a pseudo-three-dimensional open-framework structure stabilized by strong H-bonds.

Abstract

The first two low-dimensional beryllium phosphates compounds, [C5H14N2]2[Be3(HPO4)5].H2O (BePO-CJ29) and [C6H18N2]0.5[Be2(PO4)(HPO4)OH]-0.5H2O (BePO-CJ30), are successfully synthesized under mild hydrothermal/solvothermal conditions. The solvent has an important effect on the morphology of the crystals of BePO-29, and the additive TEOS favors the formation of high-quality large single crystals of BePO-CJ30.

Synthesis and structuralization of species containing Al-SH units is discussed. Sulfur P(NMe2)(sub 3) was found to be an excellent catalyst for the insertion of sulfur into Al-H bonds.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on the aluminophosphate AlPO (sub)4 -21. The synthesis of this compound has been carried out via the dimethylamine used as a template, and the results of the single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis indicate that aluminophosphate AlPO (sub)4 -21 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 (sub)1 /n.

The syntheses, characterizations and structures of three new low-dimensional chloride-rich zincophosphates including two zero-dimensional (0D) clusters and one one-dimensional (1D) chain templated by racemic or chiral cobalt complexes are presented. The transformation from 0D clusters to 1D chain and from low-dimensional precursors to 2D layers structures are investigated.

Abstract

A new layered zirconium phosphate /Co[(dien).sub.2]/[[Zr.sub.4][H.sub.8][P.sub.5][O.sub.26]].3[H.sub.2]O (ZrPO-CJ37) is synthesized hydrothermally by using a racemic mixture of a chiral cobaltammine complex Co[(dien).sub.2][Cl.sub.3] as the template. The unusual photoluminescence is attributed to the edge-sharing chains of Zr[(OM).sub.6] octahedra in the inorganic layer.
