Abstract

The studies have disclosed the surface atomic structure of Pt nanoparticles that is supported on multiwall carbon nanotubes, from which the amount of high-index surface facets on Pt nanoaprticles is analyzed. It is shown that increasing surface steps on Pt nanoparticles has led to increased intrinsic activity for electro-oxidation of methanol.

Abstract

The atomic structure of YMnO3 deposited on Si and Y2O3 with high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and fast Fourier transforms-filtered lattice image analysis during furnace and rapid thermal annealing (RTA) processes is studied. The study shows that for the YMnO3/Si, the YMnO3 layer is c-axis oriented with an amorphous bottom region after furnace annealing at 850 degrees C for 1h.

Abstract

The Pt/SrBi2Ta2O6 (SBT)/Si metal-ferroelectric-semiconductor (MFS) and Pt/SBT/Y2O3/Si metal-ferroelectric-insulator-semiconductor (MFIS) are prepared and the correlation between the memory window and the thickness ratio of SBT/Y2O3 is investigated. The analysis shows that the memory window equals to the difference between the effective coercive voltage applied to the ferroelectric film and the flat band voltage shift due to charge injection.

Abstract

The effect of field distribution on polarization switching and electron emission of the Pb(Zr(sub 0.8)Ti(sub 0.2))O3 (PZT) ferroelectric cathode is investigated as a function of the ferroelectric thickness and upper electrode diameter. It was seen that with increasing ferroelectric thickness, the emission charge increased and the threshold field decreased but there was no apparent difference between the emission charges from the different upper electrode diameters.
