Sperm undergo a series of changes in the epididymis region before acquiring the ability to move and fertilize, and the identification of genes expressed in a region-specific manner in the epididymis provides a valuable insight into functional differences between regions. We collected epididymal tissue from three yaks and cultured epithelial cells from the caput, corpus and cauda regions of the yak epididymis using the tissue block method. RNA sequencing analysis (RNA-seq) technology was used to detect gene expression in yak epididymal caput, corpus and cauda epithelial cells. The results showed that the DEGs were highest in the caput vs. corpus comparison, and lowest in the corpus vs. cauda comparison. Six DEGs were verified by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR), consistent with transcriptome sequencing results. The significantly enriched DNA replication pathway in the caput vs. corpus was coordinated with cell proliferation, while upregulated DEGs such as POLD1 and MCM4 were found in the DNA replication pathway. The AMPK signaling pathway was found significantly enriched in the caput vs cauda, suggesting its involvement in sperm maturation and capacitation. The TGF beta signaling pathway was screened in the corpus vs cauda and is crucial for mammalian reproductive regulation. Upregulated DEGs (TGFB3, INHBA, INHBB) are involved in the TGF beta signaling pathway. Both seed germination and subsequent seedling establishment are key checkpoints during the life cycle of seed plants, yet flooding stress markedly inhibits both processes, leading to economic losses from agricultural production. Here, we report that melatonin (MT) seed priming treatment enhances the performance of seeds from several crops, including soybean, wheat, maize, and alfalfa, under flooding stress. Transcriptome analysis revealed that MT priming promotes seed germination and seedling establishment associated with changes in abscisic acid (ABA), gibberellin (GA), and reactive oxygen species (ROS) biosynthesis and signaling pathways. Real-time quantitative RT-PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis confirmed that MT priming increases the expression levels of GA biosynthesis genes, ABA catabolism genes, and ROS biosynthesis genes while decreasing the expression of positive ABA regulatory genes. Further, measurements of ABA and GA concentrations are consistent with these trends. Following MT priming, quantification of ROS metabolism-related enzyme activities and the concentrations of H 2 O 2 and superoxide anions (O 2 - ) after MT priming were consistent with the results of transcriptome analysis and qRT-PCR. Finally, exogenous application of GA, fluridone (an ABA biosynthesis inhibitor), or H 2 O 2 partially rescued the poor germination of non-primed seeds under flooding stress. Background: Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease that endangers people's health, and China is a country with a high burden of tuberculosis. To accelerate the progress towards ending TB, the Chinese government implemented the End TB Action Plan (2019-2022), which consists of six actions. Among the End TB Action Plan, health promotion was conducted to improve the awareness of TB knowledge among Chinese people. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing TB health promotion activities outlined in the End TB Action Plan, and to provide recommendations for future TB prevention and control plan., Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in nine Chinese provinces in 2022. A total of 11,920 Chinese people filled out the questionnaire. Logistic regression analysis was used to explore that overall awareness of TB core information is associated with whether they received TB health education., Results: The study involved 11,920 Chinese participants. The overall awareness rate of the core information of TB was 84.2%, which does not reach the 85% goal of the End TB Action Plan. The single awareness rate that TB is a chronic infectious disease and that the vast majority of TB patients can be cured were 75.3% and 76.0%. Participants who received TB health education had a higher awareness rate of TB core information. Participants who were elderly, retired or had a primary school education or below had poor awareness of the core information of TB. Participants who were elderly, lived in urban areas, were equipment operators or had a primary school education or below received less TB health education. Participants mainly received TB health education through TV (44.6%) and Internet (37.8%), preferred TV, broadcasts or movies (58.9%) and Internet advertising (54.7%). Participants preferred illustrated (46.2%) and audio-visual (44.8%) advertising materials. The common sources used to answer health-related questions on the internet were We-Medias (48.3%) and search engines (38.9%). Participants preferred to use short-form videos (66.8%) and illustrations (53.1%) to answer health-related questions., Conclusions: Health promotion action for TB had a positive effect in China, but the awareness of TB was inadequate among Chinese people, and it is necessary to strengthen TB health education for those people. Moreover, TB prevention and control institutions should advertise TB more in audio-visual and illustrated forms on the Internet and audio-visual media. Background: Migraine is one of the most common diseases worldwide while current treatment options are not ideal. New therapeutic classes of migraine, the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) antagonists, have been developed and shown considerable effectiveness and safety. The present study aimed to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of atogepant, a CGRP antagonist, for migraine prophylaxis from the results of randomized controlled trials (RCTs)., Methods: The Cochrane Library, Embase, PubMed and https://www., Clinicaltrials: gov/ were searched for RCTs that compared atogepant with placebo for migraine prophylaxis from inception of the databases to Feb 1, 2024. Outcome data involving efficacy and safety were combined and analyzed using Review Manager Software version 5.3 (RevMan 5.3). For each outcome, risk ratios (RRs) or standardized mean difference (SMD) were calculated., Results: 4 RCTs with a total of 2813 subjects met our inclusion criteria. The overall effect estimate showed that atogepant was significantly superior to placebo in terms of the reduction of monthly migraine (SMD - 0.40, 95% CI -0.46 to -0.34) or headache (SMD - 0.39, 95% CI -0.46 to -0.33) days, the reduction of acute medication use days (SMD - 0.45, 95% CI -0.51 to -0.39) and 50% responder rate (RR 1.66, 95% CI 1.46 to 1.89), while no dose-related improvements were found between different dosage groups. For the safety, significant number of patients experienced treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) with atogepant than with placebo (RR 1.10, 95% CI 1.02-1.21) while there was no obvious difference between the five dosage groups. Most TEAEs involved constipation (RR 2.55, 95% CI 1.91-3.41), nausea (RR 2.19, 95% CI 1.67-2.87) and urinary tract infection (RR 1.49, 95% CI 1.05-2.11). In addition, a high dosage of atogepant may also increase the risk of treatment-related TEAEs (RR 1.64, 95% CI 1.02-2.63) and fatigue (RR 3.07, 95% CI 1.13-8.35)., Conclusions: This meta-analysis suggests that atogepant is effective and tolerable for migraine prophylaxis including episodic or chronic migraine compared with placebo. It is critical to weigh the benefits of different doses against the risk of adverse events in clinical application of atogepant. Networked Turing patterns often manifest as groups of nodes distributed on either side of the homogeneous equilibrium, exhibiting high and low density. These pattern formations are significantly influenced by network topological characteristics, such as the average degree. However, the impact of clustering on them remains inadequately understood. Here, we investigate the relationship between clustering and networked Turing patterns using classical prey-predator models. Our findings reveal that when nodes of high and low density are completely distributed on both sides of the homogeneous equilibrium, there is a linear decay in Turing patterns as global clustering coefficients increase, given a fixed node size and average degree; otherwise, this linear decay may not always hold due to the presence of high-density nodes considered as low-density nodes. This discovery provides a qualitative assessment of how clustering coefficients impact the formation of Turing patterns and may contribute to understanding why using refuges in ecosystems could enhance the stability of prey-predator systems. The results link network topological structures with the stability of prey-predator systems, offering new insights into predicting and controlling pattern formations in real-world systems from a network perspective., (© 2024 Author(s). A method for the synthesis of isothiocyanato alkyl sulfides from KSCN and DMTSM under metal-free conditions has been developed. The features of this reaction are low-cost, readily accessible starting materials and the use of KSCN as nucleophiles for C-NCS bond formation. Alkenes with various substituted groups react smoothly and the desired products are obtained in moderate to good yields.

An unprecedented protocol for the synthesis of 1,2,4-oxadiazoles from carbamates has been developed by employing nitriles as both substrates and solvents. This one-pot procedure achieves the formation of C═N bonds via TFA-mediated [3+2] annulation. A series of 1,2,4-oxadiazoles are synthesized in moderate to good yields.

Transcriptional regulation plays a key role in the control of seed dormancy, and many transcription factors (TFs) have been documented. However, the mechanisms underlying the interactions between different TFs within a transcriptional complex regulating seed dormancy remain largely unknown. Here, we showed that TF PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTOR4 (PIF4) physically interacted with the abscisic acid (ABA) signaling responsive TF ABSCISIC ACID INSENSITIVE4 (ABI4) to act as a transcriptional complex to promote ABA biosynthesis and signaling, finally deepening primary seed dormancy. Both pif4 and abi4 single mutants exhibited a decreased primary seed dormancy phenotype, with a synergistic effect in the pif4/abi4 double mutant. PIF4 binds to ABI4 to form a heterodimer, and ABI4 stabilizes PIF4 at the protein level, whereas PIF4 does not affect the protein stabilization of ABI4. Subsequently, both TFs independently and synergistically promoted the expression of ABI4 and NCED6, a key gene for ABA anabolism. The genetic evidence is also consistent with the phenotypic, physiological and biochemical analysis results. This study aimed to examine the characteristics and treatment outcomes of patients with TP53-mutant acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and to explore potential prognostic factors. This retrospective analysis included 130 patients diagnosed with TP53-mutant AML at the Fujian Medical University Union Hospital between January 2016 and June 2023. Patients' ages ranged from 17 to 80 years, with a median age of 59 years. The proportions of de novo, therapy-related, and secondary AML cases were 71.5%, 7.7%, and 20.8%, respectively. Complex karyotypes were observed in 60.6% of patients, and the proportions of -5 or del(5q), -7 or del(7q), and - 17 or del(17p) were 41.7%, 27.9% and 14.4%, respectively. DNA methylation- and myelodysplasia-related (MR) gene mutations were observed in 36.9% and 25.4% of patients, respectively. These patients showed poor survival, with a median overall survival (OS) of 4.5 months, a 1-year OS rate of 32.5%, a 3-year OS rate of 18.8%, and a 5-year OS rate of 11.3%. The complete response rates for intensive chemotherapy (IC), hypomethylating agent (HMAs)-based therapies, and azacitidine plus venetoclax were 35.7%, 22.2%, and 37.5%, respectively. Patients who did or did not receive allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) had similar prognoses (median OS: 6.0 vs. 3.9 months; P = 0.6415). Multivariate analysis indicated that MR gene mutations is an independent favorable prognostic factor of OS (HR = 0.366, 95% CI: 0.181-0.738, P = 0.005). In conclusion, patients with TP53-mutant AML have poor prognoses under current treatment strategies and MR gene mutations are associated with a more favorable survival. The synthesis of 3-aminopyrrole using the amination reagent nitrosoarenes and homopropargylic amines catalyzed by I 2 through cyclization and amination has been developed. This protocol features excellent functional group tolerance and mild reaction conditions, yielding 3-aminopyrroles in moderate to good yields without a metal catalyst. This method realizes the construction and amination of the 3-aminopyrroles in which nitrosoarenes serve as the amine source and oxidant.

Narrowband emissive multiple resonance (MR) emitters promise high efficiency and stability in deep-blue organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). However, the construction of ideal ultra-narrow-band deep-blue MR emitters still faces formidable challenges, especially in balancing bathochromic-shift emission, spectral narrowing, and aggregation suppression. Here, DICz is chosen, which possesses the smallest full-width-at-half-maximum (FWHM) in MR structures, as the core and solved the above issue by tuning its peripheral substitution sites. The 1-substituted molecule Cz-DICz is able to show a bright deep-blue emission with a peak at 457 nm, an extremely small FWHM of 14 nm, and a CIE coordinate of (0.14, 0.08) in solution. The corresponding OLEDs exhibit high maximum external quantum efficiencies of 22.1%-25.6% and identical small FWHMs of 18 nm over the practical mass-production concentration range (1-4 wt.%). To the best of the knowledge, 14 and 18 nm are currently the smallest FWHM values for deep-blue MR emitters with similar emission maxima under photoluminescence and electroluminescence conditions, respectively. Abscisic acid (ABA) and gibberellins (GA) antagonistically mediate several biological processes, including seed germination, but the molecular mechanisms underlying ABA/GA antagonism need further investigation, particularly any role mediated by a transcription factors module. Here, we report that the DELLA protein RGL2, a repressor of GA signaling, specifically interacts with ABI4, an ABA signaling enhancer, to act as a transcription factor complex to mediate ABA/GA antagonism. The rgl2, abi3, abi4 and abi5 mutants rescue the non-germination phenotype of the ga1-t. Further, we demonstrate that RGL2 specifically interacts with ABI4 to form a heterodimer. RGL2 and ABI4 stabilize one another, and GA increases the ABI4-RGL2 module turnover, whereas ABA decreases it. At the transcriptional level, ABI4 enhances the RGL2 expression by directly binding to its promoter via the CCAC cis-element, and RGL2 significantly upregulates the transcriptional activation ability of ABI4 toward its target genes, including ABI5 and RGL2. Abscisic acid promotes whereas GA inhibits the ability of ABI4-RGL2 module to activate transcription, and ultimately ABA and GA antagonize each other. Genetic analysis demonstrated that both ABI4 and RGL2 are essential for the activity of this transcription factor module. Background: Although a great deal of research has examined the impact of socialized pest control service, few studies have discussed the relationship between socialized pest control service and pesticide use intensity. In particular, the literature ignores the impact of advanced application technologies (drone sprayers) on the intensity of pesticide use by farmers., Results: Based on a survey of 1185 rice growers in Hubei Province, China, this study found that 64.13% of the sample farmers used pesticides more than three times in one rice season. Importantly, socialized pest control services have a significant negative effect on the pesticide use intensity of farmers. Compared to the sample that did not purchase the service, farmers who purchased socialized pest control services demonstrated 9.30% less pesticide intensity. Further, there was a significant difference among farmers using different application devices on pesticide use intensity. Compared to the sample using ground backpack sprayers, farmers using drone sprayers used 12.40% less pesticide intensity., Conclusion: This study found that the frequency of pesticide use by farmers during rice cultivation was generally high. Socialized pest control services have played a positive role in reducing the intensity of pesticide use, especially with the more obvious pesticide reduction effect of the adoption of drone sprayers. Importance: Anti-biofilm is an important strategy against Staphylococcus aureus chronic infection. SarA is a positive regulator of biofilm formation in S. aureus . In this study, we identified the SarA inhibitor quercetin using computer simulation screening. Previous studies have shown that quercetin inhibits biofilm; however, the underlying mechanism remains unknown. This study revealed the inhibitory effect of quercetin on the SarA protein. We also isolated the SarA protein and confirmed its interaction with quercetin in vitro . Besides, the inhibitory effect of quercetin on the transcription and translation levels of the SarA protein was also determined. The effects of quercetin on S. aureus biofilm inhibition and biofilm components were consistent with the changes in the transcription level of biofilm-related genes regulated by SarA. Objective: This study evaluated the effects of extreme temperatures on hospital admissions for respiratory diseases (RDs) in a semi-arid region in the Northwest of China., Methods: Distributed lag nonlinear model was constructed, and stratified analysis by gender and age was performed., Results: The exposure-response curve between temperature and RD hospital admissions was almost W-shaped. Either extremely cold temperatures or moderately cold temperatures presented a short-term acute harmful effect, and the relative risks were higher among males (1.976, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.773-2.203; 1.242, 95% CI: 1.203-1.282) and the elderly (2.363, 95% CI: 1.724-3.240; 1.267, 95% CI: 1.154-1.390). Both extreme and moderately hot temperatures had higher risks among females (2.040, 95% CI: 1.815-2.292; 1.328, 95% CI: 1.276-1.381)., Conclusions: The relationship between air temperature and RD hospital admissions was nonlinear. Pesticide residue detection in food has become increasingly important. Herein, surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) coupled with an intelligent algorithm was developed for the rapid and sensitive detection of pesticide residues in tea. By employing octahedral Cu 2 O templates, Au-Ag octahedral hollow cages (Au-Ag OHCs) were developed, which improved the surface plasma effect via rough edges and hollow inner structure, amplifying the Raman signals of pesticide molecules. Afterward, convolutional neural network (CNN), partial least squares (PLS), and extreme learning machine (ELM) algorithms were applied for the quantitative prediction of thiram and pymetrozine. CNN algorithms performed optimally for thiram and pymetrozine, with correlation values of 0.995 and 0.977 and detection limits (LOD) of 0.286 and 29 ppb, respectively. Accordingly, no significant difference (P greater than 0.05) was observed between the developed approach and HPLC in detecting tea samples. Background: Although scholars have elaborated on the effects of aging, there is no consensus on the relationship between the aging and farmers' pesticide input. Regional differences in agricultural crops in China, namely 'Southern Rice and Northern Wheat', have not been considered in any of the existing studies., Results: Based on the data of 443 wheat farmers and 324 rice farmers in China, this study found that aging significantly increased pesticide input. After sorting out the types of pesticides, it was found that the aging significantly increased the input of biological pesticides, but did not affect the input of chemical pesticides. After considering the planting pattern of 'Southern Rice and Northern Wheat', aging did not have a significant impact on the pesticide input of wheat farmers, but had a significant positive impact on the pesticide input of rice farmers. For wheat farmers in the north, social services have a significant inhibitory effect on the relationship between aging and pesticide input. For rice farmers, path dependence has a significant role in promoting the relationship between aging and pesticide input., Conclusion: The planting pattern of 'Southern Rice and Northern Wheat' will indeed affect the relationship between aging and pesticide input, and social services and path dependence are the main reasons for this heterogeneity effect. The aim of this study was to examine the characteristics and prognosis of patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) accompanied by TP53 abnormalities and explore potential prognostic factors and treatment responses. This retrospective analysis included 95 patients with MDS and TP53 abnormalities and 173 patients with MDS without TP53 abnormalities at the Fujian Medical University Union Hospital between January 2016 and June 2023. Among patients with TP53 abnormalities, 26 (27.4%) developed AML during the disease course, with a median transformation time of 5.7 months. Complex karyotypes were observed in 73.1% of patients, and the proportions of -5 or del(5q), -7 or del(7q), +8, and -20 or del(20q) were 81.8%, 54.5%, 30.7%, and 25.0%, respectively. These patients exhibited poor survival, with a median overall survival (OS) of 7.3 months, and had 1- and 2-year OS rates of 42.2% and 21.5%, respectively. The complete response rates for azacitidine monotherapy, venetoclax combined with azacitidine, decitabine monotherapy, and decitabine combined with low-dose chemotherapy were 9.1%, 41.7%, 37.5%, and 33.3%, respectively. Long-term survival was similar among the four treatment groups. Patients who underwent allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) had a median OS of 21.3 months, which trended to be longer than that of patients who did not undergo allo-HSCT (5.6 months; P = 0.1449). Patients with pulmonary infection at diagnosis experienced worse OS than those without pulmonary infection (2.3 months vs. 15.4 months; P < 0.0001). Moreover, 61.9% of patients with pulmonary infection had immune dysfunction, with a ratio of CD4+ to CD8+ T lymphocytes below two. Pulmonary infections and complex karyotypes were independent adverse prognostic factors for OS. In conclusion, TP53 abnormalities in patients with MDS were frequently accompanied by complex karyotypes, and treatments based on hypomethylating agents or venetoclax have limited efficacy. Background: In this study, we aimed to determine the impact of lymphadenectomy (LND) on clinical outcomes in ICC patients aged ≥ 70 years., Methods: Four hundred and three eligible patients diagnosed with ICC who underwent hepatectomy between 2004 and 2019 were enrolled in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. The impact of LND on perioperative mortality and overall survival (OS) as well as the optimal total number of lymph nodes examined (TNLE) was estimated., Results: One hundred thirty-nine pairs of patients were matched by propensity score matching. Perioperative mortality was comparable between the LND and non-LND (nLND) groups (0.7% vs. 2.9%, P = 0.367). The median OS in the LND group was significantly longer (44 vs. 32 months, P = 0.045) and LND was identified as an independent protective factor for OS by multivariate analysis (HR 0.65, 95% CI 0.46-0.92, P = 0.014). Patients with the following characteristics were potential beneficiaries of LND: white, female, no/moderate fibrosis, tumor size > 5 cm, solitary tumor, and localized invasion (all P < 0.05). TNLE ≥ 6 had the greatest discriminatory power for identifying lymph node metastasis (area under the curve, 0.704, Youden index, 0.365, P = 0.002). Patients with pathologically confirmed lymph node metastasis are likely to benefit from adjuvant therapy (40 months vs. 4 months, P = 0.052)., Conclusions: Advanced age (≥ 70 years) was not a contraindication for LND, which facilitates accurate nodal staging and guides postoperative management. Background: The existing body of research exploring minority stressors and their impact on the mental health of Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual (LGB) students in China remains limited in scope and often restricted to specific geographic regions.., Methods: A combination of snowball and targeted sampling strategies was used to recruit lesbian, gay and bisexual students (N = 1,393) for a cross-sectional, online survey in China. Participants (Mage = 20.00 years; 60.23% assigned male at birth) were tasked with completing a comprehensive questionnaire designed to capture various dimensions, including gender expression, minority stressors (e.g., school bullying, internalized homophobia), social psychological resources (e.g., perceived social support), and mental health-related outcomes (e.g., depression, anxious and stress). Our analytical approach involved hierarchical multiple regression analyses, mediation and moderated mediation modeling to elucidate the intricate interplay among these factors., Results: Our findings shed light on the pronounced mental health disparities afflicting LGB college students in China, with notable prevalence rates of depression (48.1%), anxiety (57.1%), and stress (37.5%). A significant positive correlation was observed between experiences of school-based victimization and internalized homophobia, which, in turn, exhibited a direct association with affective symptoms.School bullying was positive with internalized homophobia, which was positively associated with affective symptoms.In addition to unveiling the indirect effects of school bullying on affective symptoms, our study identified direct links in this complex relationship. Notably, the availability of social support emerged as a pivotal factor, serving as a moderator within the mediation model by mitigating the path from school-based victimization bullying to internalized homophobia (β = -0.077, P = 0.040)., Conclusions: This study underscores the pervasive and concerning mental health disparities experienced by LGB college students in China. In response, institutions of higher learning should intensify anti-bullying initiatives tailored to LGB students and implement comprehensive gender education programs. Objective: The potential effects of quercetin and gentamicin combination on the bacteriostatic activity and biofilm formation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) were examined, and the findings provided a theoretical basis for the development of quercetin as a new biofilm inhibitor., Methods: The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of eight PAs was determined by microdilution method and the partial inhibitory concentration index (FICI) of the combined drug was analyzed by micro-dilution method. Thereafter, the lowest film inhibitory concentration (MBIC) of quercetin and gentamicin alone and in combination was evaluated by crystal violet staining. Finally, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and laser confocal microscopy (CLSM) were used to decipher the inhibitory effect of the combination on biofilm formation., Outcome: The antibacterial activity of quercetin alone was relatively weak, but after combination with gentamicin, the antibacterial activity was significantly enhanced, as evident by FICI of 0.28 and 0.53 and manifested as synergistic or additive effect, which indicated that quercetin can enhance gentamicin antibacterial activity. The results of crystal violet staining revealed that quercetin and gentamicin alone exhibited a similar biofilm formation inhibitory effect, but the inhibitory effect was substantially weaker, and the antibiofilm activity was stronger and exhibited a dose-dependent response after the combination of the two with 1/2FICI. Background: Although programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression and function in hematologic malignancies have aroused extensive attention, its prognostic value for extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTL) is still unknown. Therefore, we conducted this meta-analysis to explore the predictive value of neoplastic PD-L1 expression for ENKTL., Methods: The PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and CNKI databases were searched to identify eligible observational studies reporting PD-L1 expression and survival outcomes of ENKTL patients. The search was conducted in accordance with the Meta-analyses Of Observative Studies in Epidemiology (MOOSE) guidelines. The pooled hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) were adopted to analyze survival outcomes, and the odds ratios (ORs) and 95% CIs were adopted for clinicopathological parameters. Review Manager 5.3 and STATA 17.0 were used for statistical analysis. Potential publication bias was evaluated by funnel plot and Egger's test., Results: A total of 433 patients with ENKTL were included across seven studies. The pooled results showed no significant relationship between neoplastic PD-L1 expression and overall survival (OS) (HR =1.35, 95% CI: 0.49-3.75, P=0.559). We also performed subgroup analyses. However, increased PD-L1 expression was associated with a low international prognostic index (IPI) score of 0-1 (OR =2.46; 95% CI: 1.11-5.45, P=0.03), good performance status (OR =1.97; 95% CI: 1.11-3.51, P=0.02), and a good treatment effect (OR =2.61; 95% CI: 1.01-6.70, P=0.05)., Conclusions: PD-L1-positive expression in patients with ENKTL was correlated with favorable clinical features. Thus, PD-L1-positive expression appears to be a potential predictor of treatment benefits. Hemihydrate phosphogypsum, an industrial solid waste product of phosphoric acid production, is abundant and inexpensive. If the problem of poor water resistance is solved, this material could be substituted for cement and other traditional energy-consuming cementitious materials in the construction industry. This approach would confer important economic and environmental benefits while promoting the resource utilization of phosphogypsum (PG). In this study, hydrophobic and self-cleaning coatings of H-PDMS/PMHS/OTS hybrid nanosilica were prepared on a post-hydroxylated PG surface using sol-gel and impregnation methods. The water contact angle, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, Three-dimensional surface morphology and roughness analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, surface abrasion tests, and tape adhesion tests were used to evaluate the hydrophobicity of the coatings. The results demonstrated that the in situ reaction produced a hydrophobic siloxane/nanosilica hybrid network that bonded to the PG surface via hydrogen bonding, making the otherwise completely hydrophilic PG hydrophobic (PGH-3, contact angle (CA) = 144.1°). The PGH-3 sample exhibited excellent chemical stability, maintaining a contact angle greater than 135° under strongly acidic or alkaline conditions. The contact angle remained at 123.7° after 50 tape-bonding tests. After 100 wear cycles, the contact angle remained at 121.9°. This study presents an environmentally friendly method and a straightforward application procedure to impart hydrophobicity to solid waste PG. Its potential is thus demonstrated in the field of PG-based construction materials and the comprehensive utilization of solid waste.

Background: Most women suffer from perineal trauma during childbirth, whether it is natural tears or episiotomy., Objectives: To perform a systematic review and network meta-analysis investigating the effectiveness of different PFMT relevant strategies in the prevention of perineal trauma., Search Strategy: PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, CINAHL, CNKI, CBM, WANFANG DATABASE, and ClinicalTrials.gov were searched for citations published in any language from inception to 1 July 2021., Selection Criteria: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of PFMT relevant prevention strategies for preventing perineal trauma during childbirth., Data Collection and Analysis: Data were independently extracted by two reviewers. Relative treatment effects were estimated using network meta-analysis (NMA)., Main Results: Of 12 632 citations searched, 21 RCTs were included. Comparing with usual care, "PFMT combine with perineal massage" and PFMT alone showed more superiority in intact perineum (RR = 5.37, 95% CI: 3.79 to 7.60, moderate certainty; RR = 2.58, 95% CI 1.34-4.97, moderate certainty, respectively), episiotomy (RR = 0.26, 95% CI 0.14-0.49, very low certainty; RR = 0.63, 95% CI 0.45-0.90, very low certainty, respectively), and OASIS (RR = 0.35, 95% CI 0.16-0.78, moderate certainty; RR = 0.49, 95% CI 0.28-0.85, high certainty, respectively). As there are no targeted medicines or vaccines for newly emerging infectious diseases, isolation among communities (villages, cities, or countries) is one of the most effective intervention measures. As such, the number of intercommunity edges ([Formula: see text]) becomes one of the most important factor in isolating a place since it is closely related to normal life. Unfortunately, how [Formula: see text] affects epidemic spread is still poorly understood. In this paper, we quantitatively analyzed the impact of [Formula: see text] on infectious disease transmission by establishing a four-dimensional [Formula: see text] edge-based compartmental model with two communities. The basic reproduction number [Formula: see text] is explicitly obtained subject to [Formula: see text] [Formula: see text]. Furthermore, according to [Formula: see text] with zero [Formula: see text], epidemics spread could be classified into two cases. When [Formula: see text] for the case 2, epidemics occur with at least one of the reproduction numbers within communities greater than one, and otherwise when [Formula: see text] for case 1, both reproduction numbers within communities are less than one. Remarkably, in case 1, whether epidemics break out strongly depends on intercommunity edges. Then, the outbreak threshold in regard to [Formula: see text] is also explicitly obtained, below which epidemics vanish, and otherwise break out. The above two cases form a severity-based hierarchical intervention scheme for epidemics. It is then applied to the SARS outbreak in Singapore, verifying the validity of our scheme. In addition, the final size of the system is gained by demonstrating the existence of positive equilibrium in a four-dimensional coupled system. Theoretical results are also validated through numerical simulation in networks with the Poisson and Power law distributions, respectively. Polyphosphoric acid (PPA) and styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) were adopted to produce PPA-SBS-modified bio-blend bitumen, which achieved excellent mechanical performance. However, its long-range performance, such as the fatigue and thermal cracking behavior under long-term thermal oxidation, is not well understood. Therefore, a pressure aging vessel (PAV) system was applied to simulate the aging behavior of the bitumen under the action of thermal oxidation. Then, a linear amplitude sweep (LAS) test combined with a viscoelastic continuum damage (VECD) model was applied to investigate the fatigue properties of the bitumen. Moreover, a bending beam rheometer (BBR) test was conducted to evaluate the thermal cracking resistance of the bitumen before and after PAV aging. Meanwhile, an atomic force microscope (AFM) was applied to observe the microscopic topography. The results show that the original compound-modified bitumen can bear more fatigue damage than that of the control bitumen at the failure point, and it also has excellent fatigue resistance at 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10% applied strain. Moreover, the VECD model can accurately predict the fatigue life of the bitumen under different applied strains. The variation ratio of stiffness modulus for the compound-modified bitumen is below that of the control bitumen after PAV aging, so it shows a better anti-aging performance. Finally, the AFM test shows that PPA and bio-bitumen decrease the heterogeneity of the bitumen, reducing the difference between phases.

Introduction: A safe bio-preservative agent, lactic acid bacteria (LAB) can inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria and spoilage organisms. Its cell-free supernatant (LAB-CFS), which is rich in bioactive compounds, is what makes LAB antibacterial work., Methods: This study focused on the changes in biofilm activity and related metabolic pathways of S. aureus treated with lactic acid bacteria planktonic CFS (LAB-pk-CFS) and biofilm state (LAB-bf-CFS)., Results: The findings demonstrated that the LAB-CFS treatment considerably slowed Staphylococcus aureus ( S. aureus ) growth and prevented it from forming biofilms. Additionally, it inhibits the physiological traits of the S. aureus biofilm, including hydrophobicity, motility, eDNA, and PIA associated to the biofilm. The metabolites of S. aureus biofilm treated with LAB-CFS were greater in the LAB-bf-CFS than they were in the LAB-pk-CFS, according to metabolomics studies. Background: Apatinib is a novel tyrosine kinase inhibitor used in the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). For decades, sorafenib has been a classic first-line treatment option for patients with HCC. This meta-analysis aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of apatinib versus sorafenib/placebo as first-line treatment for intermediate and advanced primary liver cancer (PLC). Methods: A literature search was performed via PubMed, Web of Science, CENTRAL, Embase, CNKI, VIP, and CBM. Data extraction from databases of other languages is not restricted. The Cochrane risk of bias tool, modified Jadad scale, Newcastle-Ottawa scale (NOS), and non-randomized studies of interventions (ROBINS-I) tool were employed to evaluate methodological qualities in original studies. Influence analysis was applied to assess the reliability of pooled results. Publication bias was evaluated using the funnel plot with Begg's test and Egger's test. Results: Seven studies were included in the systematic review and meta-analysis. Four randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and one clinical controlled trial (CCT) were used for comparing apatinib with placebo, and two retrospective clinical studies (RCSs) were used for comparing apatinib with sorafenib. Apatinib led to higher overall effects in objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), and mean survival time (MST) over placebo (RR = 2.03, 95% CI = 1.46-2.81, p < 0.0001, I 2 = 0%; RR = 1.17, 95% CI = 1.04-1.33, p = 0.009, I 2 = 45.8%; SMD = 2.63; 95% CI = 1.47-3.78, p < 0.0001, I 2 = 92.7%, respectively). Compared to sorafenib, apatinib showed no superiority in ORR and DCR but was inferior in the 6-month and 1-year survival rate (RR = 1.99, 95% CI = 0.85-4.65, p = 0.111, I 2 = 68.3%; RR = 1.04, 95% CI = 0.73-1.47, p = 0.840, I 2 = 0.0%; RR = 0.63, 95% CI = 0.42-0.97, p = 0.036, I 2 = 0.0%; RR = 0.47, 95% CI = 0.29-0.79, p < 0.0001, I 2 = 0.0%, respectively). Apatinib had similar adverse effects over placebo but possessed a greater incidence rate of proteinuria and hypertension over sorafenib. Conclusion: In the first-line setting, apatinib might be an alternative treatment approach for patients with intermediate and advanced PLC. Adoptive transfer of hepatitis B virus (HBV) immunity may occur following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Here, we investigated the adoptive transfer of HBV immunity in 112 patients without HBV surface antibody (HBsAb) (HBsAb-) at the time of their first allo-HSCT. After allo-HSCT, HBV-DNA（87.5%） and HBsAg（11.1%%）cleared in HBsAg+ patients. All HBsAg- patients acquired HBsAb immediately. Nevertheless, HBsAb titers subsequently declined, and 39/67 (58.2%) patients lost HBsAb during follow-up. The 5-year overall survival (OS) was better in patients who lost HBsAb. Multivariate analysis showed that the independent risk factors for OS were lack of cytomegalovirus (CMV) clearance, acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD), and no HBsAb loss. This paper examines the impact of agricultural mechanization services (AMS) on rural household income and income gap, utilizing the recentered influence function regression method and publicly available data collected through the China Labor-force Dynamics Survey. The results of this study shed light on various impacts of AMS. First, agricultural mechanization services can significantly increase rural household income, but there is heterogeneity in the impact on rural household income in different quantiles. The effect of income growth on medium-income and low-income groups is greater. Second, agricultural mechanization services help to narrow the income gap between rural households and alleviate income inequality in rural areas. Third, the effect of agricultural mechanization services on reducing the income gap between rural households in the eastern and western regions is significantly stronger than that in the central region. Finally, further analysis based on income source structure reveals that agricultural mechanization services can significantly reduce the non-agricultural income gap of rural households, but the impact on the agricultural income gap is negligible. Objectives: Killer cell immunoglobulin like receptor (KIR) can trigger the alloreactivity of NK cells. However, there is no clear consensus as to their function. Here, we investigated the potential influence of KIR mismatch and KIR alleles on the outcome of haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (haplo-HSCT) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients., Method: Data from 79 AML patients treated with haplo-HSCT were retrospectively analyzed. HLA-C genotyping was determined by the PCR-rSSO method. KIR, HLA-A and HLA-B genotyping was performed by the PCR-SSP method. Cox proportional hazards model and Kaplan-Meier survival curves were used for analysis., Results: Both KIR ligand mismatch (KLM) group and KIR receptor-ligand mismatch (RLM) group were associated with a decreased risk in aGVHD and relapse rate (RR), and better overall survival (OS) compared to the KIR ligand matching and receptor-ligand matching groups, respectively (aGVHD: KLM: p=0.047, HR:0.235; RLM: p<0.001, HR:0.129; RR: KLM: p=0.049, HR:0.686, RLM: p=0.017, HR:0.200;OS:KLM: p=0.012, HR: 0.298, RLM: p=0.021, HR:0.301). RLM was more accurate at predicting relapse and aGVHD compared with KLM (aGVHD: p=0.009; RR: p=0.039). Patients with greater number of donor activating KIRs (aKIR) had a lower incidence of aGVHD and relapse, and the benefits correlated with the increase in the number of donor aKIRs (aGVHD: p=0.019, HR:0.156; RR: p=0.037, HR:0.211). Patients with RLM and the highest number of donor aKIRs had the lowest RR, lowest incidence of aGVHD and best OS., Conclusions: Both KLM and RLM reduced the risk of aGVHD and relapse after haplo-HSCT in AML patients, and RLM showed superiority in predicting HSCT outcome. Peanuts are nutritionally valuable for both humans and animals due to their high content of flavonoids and phenolic compounds. Herein, we explored the potential of near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy coupled with efficient variable selection algorithms for quantitative prediction of total flavonoids (TFC) and total phenolics content (TPC) in raw peanut seeds. Spectrophotometrically, the reference results of the extracts for TFC and TPC were analysed and recorded. The integrated application of the synergy interval coupled competitive adaptive reweighted sampling-partial least squares (Si-CARS-PLS) were used for prediction. The model performance appraisal was based on the correlation coefficients of prediction (Rp), root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP), and residual predictive deviation (RPD). The Si-CARS-PLS performed optimally for TFC (Rp = 0.9137, RPD = 2.49) and TPC (Rp = 0.9042, RPD = 2.31), respectively. Moreover, the model (Si-CARS-PLS) was found to have an acceptable fit for the analytes under study since it achieved 0.88 for TFC and 0.86 for TPC based on the external validation. Cell cycle progression and the phytohormones auxin and abscisic acid (ABA) play key roles in primary root growth, but how ABA mediates the transcription of cell cycle-related genes and the mechanism of crosstalk between ABA and auxin requires further research. Here, we report that ABA inhibits primary root growth by regulating the ABA INSENSITIVE4 (ABI4)-CYCLIN-DEPENDENT KINASE B2;2 (CDKB2;2)/CYCLIN B1;1 (CYCB1;1) module-mediated cell cycle as well as auxin biosynthesis in Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana). ABA induced ABI4 transcription in the primary root tip, and the abi4 mutant showed an ABA-insensitive phenotype in primary root growth. Compared with the wild type (WT), the meristem size and cell number of the primary root in abi4 increased in response to ABA. Further, the transcription levels of several cell-cycle positive regulator genes, including CDKB2;2 and CYCB1;1, were upregulated in abi4 primary root tips. Subsequent chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP)-seq, ChIP-qPCR, and biochemical analysis revealed that ABI4 repressed the expression of CDKB2;2 and CYCB1;1 by physically interacting with their promoters. Genetic analysis demonstrated that overexpression of CDKB2;2 or CYCB1;1 fully rescued the shorter primary root phenotype of ABI4-overexpression lines, and consistently, abi4/cdkb2;2-cr or abi4/cycb1;1-cr double mutations largely rescued the ABA-insensitive phenotype of abi4 with regard to primary root growth. The expression levels of DR5promoter-GFP and PIN1promoter::PIN1-GFP in abi4 primary root tips were significantly higher than those in WT after ABA treatment, with these changes being consistent with changes in auxin concentration and expression patterns of auxin biosynthesis genes. Based on the successful experience of pesticide reduction in China, this study uses survey data from Hubei Province to measure rice farmers' technology preferences for pesticide reduction considering their needs, and compare the heterogeneous factors influencing farmers' adoption behavior. The results show that large-scale farmers prefer drone services and efficient machinery, while small-scale farmers prefer scientific standards and biopesticides for pesticide reduction. Second, farmers' adoption behavior of pesticide reduction technologies is mostly influenced by education, risk attitude, income, agricultural labor, scale, rice price, residue testing, brand, training, subsidy, and demonstration. Among them, education, risk attitude, scale, rice price, cost, and training, significantly affect farmers' adoption level of multiple pesticide reduction technologies. Further, higher rice prices and participation in training could promote the use of pesticide reduction technologies in a larger area by farmers. Therefore, the real needs of farmers should be focused on the promotion of pesticide reduction technologies, and pesticide reduction programs in different regions should carry out precise intervention policies. Alpha-hemihydrate phosphogypsum (α-HPG) is a cementitious material obtained by dehydration of phosphogypsum (PG), a byproduct of phosphoric acid production. Poor water resistance of α-HPG has usually restricted its application in construction materials. In this study, hydroxy-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (H-PDMS) and Portland cement (PC) were used for the hydrophobic modification of α-HPG. The fluidity, setting times, compressive strength, flexural strength, ratio of compressive to flexural strength, water absorption rate, softening coefficient, pore structure, chemical information, and microstructure of the samples were measured to evaluate the modification effect of H-PDMS and PC. The results showed that H-PDMS and PC significantly improved waterproof properties of α-HPG and reduced its porosity, total pore area, and pore diameter. Specifically, PC provided the reactive group -OH that reacted with H-PDMS. Aim: To assess the effect of lubricants on reducing perineal trauma during vaginal delivery., Methods: PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, CINAHL, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Biology Medicine disc, WanFang databases, and ClinicalTrials.gov, were searched for literature up to 25 June 2021. Randomized controlled trials published in English or Chinese that compared the vaginal application of lubricant with standard care for women were included. Two reviewers independently performed study screening, data extraction, risk of bias assessment, and certainty of evidence assessment. Pooled effect sizes and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated using meta-analysis., Results: Nineteen trials enrolling 5445 pregnant women were included. Compared with standard care, women using lubricants had a lower incidence of perineal trauma (risk ratio [RR] 0.84, 95% CI 0.76-0.93; low certainty evidence), second-degree perineal laceration (RR 0.72, 95% CI 0.64-0.82; moderate certainty evidence) and episiotomy (RR 0.77, 95% CI 0.62-0.96; very low certainty evidence), and had a shorter duration of the second-stage labor (MD -13.72 min, 95% CI -22.68 to -4.77; very low certainty evidence)., Conclusion: Lubricants might reduce the incidence of perineal trauma, especially second-degree perineal laceration, and shorten the duration of the second-stage labor. Objectives: The purpose is to analyze existing studies related to the field of demoralization through bibliometrics., Methodology: Relevant literature on demoralization was searched from PubMed, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, and CINAHL Complete. Bibliometric analysis was performed using GraphPad Prisma 8.2.1, VOSviewer 1.6.18 and R software. Research publication trends, author-country collaboration, research hotspots and future trends were explored by generating network relationship maps., Results: A total of 1,035 publications related to the field of demoralization were identified. The earliest relevant studies have been published since 1974, and the studies have grown faster since 2000. Psyche-oncology and Psychother Psychosom had the highest number of publications ( n  = 25). The United States, Italy and Australia have made outstanding contributions to the field and there was an active collaboration among leading scholars. Major research hotspots include the multiple ways of assessing demoralization, the specificity of various demographics and psychological disorders in different disease contexts, and the association and distinction of diverse clinical psychological abnormalities. The impact of COVID-19 on demoralization and subsequent interventions and psychological care may become a future research direction., Conclusion: There has been a significant increase in research in the field of demoralization after 2000. The United States provided the most publications. There is overall active collaboration between authors, countries, and institutions. During menopause, when estrogen levels are low, abnormalities in the hypothalamic preoptic area (POA) of the thermoregulatory center can cause hot flashes. However, the involved neural population has not been identified. Proteomics showed that under low estrogen, differentially expressed proteins in the hypothalamus were associated with glutamatergic and GABAergic synapses. RNAscope, Western blotting and qRT-PCR indicated that the number of glutamatergic neurons in the POA was decreased, while the number of GABAergic neurons was increased. Chemogenetics showed that the rat body temperature decreased slowly after glutamatergic neurons were activated and increased quickly after glutamatergic neurons were inhibited, while it increased quickly after GABAergic neurons were activated and decreased slowly after GABAergic neurons were inhibited. RNAscope, immunofluorescence, Western blotting and qRT-PCR further showed that glutamate decarboxylase (GAD) 1 expression in the POA was increased, while GAD2 expression in the POA was decreased; that thermosensitive transient receptor potential protein (ThermoTRP) M (TRPM) 2 expression in glutamatergic neurons was decreased, while TRPM8 expression in GABAergic neurons was increased; and that estrogen receptor (ER) α and β expression in the POA was decreased, and ERα and ERβ expressed in both glutamatergic and GABAergic neurons. Estrogen therapy corrected these abnormalities. In addition, CUT&Tag and Western blot after injection of agonists and inhibitors of ERs showed that ERα and ERβ were both transcription factors in glutamatergic and GABAergic synapses. This study aimed to investigate the presence of eight virulence genes (ace, asa1, esp, efaA, gelE, cylA, agg, fsr) in Enterococcus from a variety of animals and to explore the drug resistance and pathogenicity. This could provide a theoretical basis for clinical treatment of Enterococcus infections. Anal swabs from pigs, chickens, cattle, and dogs in farms and pet hospitals were collected for Enterococcus isolation and identification. Eight virulence genes were detected (PCR method), and drug resistance was assessed (drug-sensitive paper method). The strains containing different virulence genes were then divided into EV1, EV2, and EV3 groups. The LD 50 and pathogenicity was examined by intra-peritoneal injection to infect mice. Differences were found in the detection rates of virulence genes in Enterococcus from the different animals. The highest overall detection rate was for the esp gene (78.0%), and the lowest for the cylA gene (15.5%). Eight genes were detected most frequently in Enterococcus from dogs and least frequently from cattle. Among the Enterococcus strains from four variety of animals, drug resistance was highest against sulfamethoxazole (100%), cefotaxime (>97%), and cefotaxitin (>93%). Drug resistance was lowest against vancomycin (0%), levofloxacin (<12%) and ciprofloxacin (<13%). The LD 50 for each of the three groups was EV1 LD50 =8.71×10 9 CFU， EV2 LD50 =2.34×10 10 CFU，and EV3 LD50 =9.33×10 10 CFU. The Enterococcus12LD 50 dose group caused significant clinical symptoms in mice, with pathological effects on the heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys, and particularly on the urinary system. To systematically review the clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for the treatment of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) using Chinese herbal medicine (CHM), assess the methodological quality as well as clinical credibility and implementability of specific recommendations, and summarize key recommendations., Methods: As of April 2022, we conducted a comprehensive search on major electronic databases, guideline websites, academic society websites, and government websites to assess the methodological quality and clinical applicability of the included CPGs using the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE) II tool and Evaluation-Recommendations EXcellence (AGREE-REX) instructions, respectively., Results: The search yielded 61 CPGs, which were mostly published in 2020; moreover, 98.4% of the CPGs were published in China. Only five CPGs achieved a high-quality AGREE II rating; further, six CPGs could be directly recommended, with most of the CPGs still showing much room for improvement. CPGs had a low overall score in the AGREE-REX evaluation, with the domains of clinical applicability, values and preferences, and implementability being standardized in 21.80% ± 12.56%, 16.00% ± 11.81%, and 31.33% ± 14.55% of the CPGs, respectively. Five high-quality CPGs mentioned 56 Chinese herbal formulas. Half of the recommendations had moderate or strong evidence level in the GRADE evaluation. Appropriate timing of seed germination is crucial for plant survival and has important implications for agricultural production. Timely germination relies on harmonious interactions between endogenous developmental signals, especially abscisic acid (ABA) and gibberellins (GAs), and environmental cues such as light. Recently, a series of investigations of a three-way crosstalk between phytochromes, ABA, and GAs in the regulation of seed germination demonstrated that the transcription factor ABSCISIC ACID INSENSITIVE 5 (ABI5) is a central mediator in the light-ABA/GA cascades. Here, we review current knowledge of ABI5 as a key player in light-, ABA-, and GA-signaling pathways that precisely control seed germination. We highlight recent advances in ABI5-related studies, focusing on the regulation of seed germination, which is strictly controlled at both the transcriptional and the protein levels by numerous light-regulated factors. We further discuss the components of ABA and GA signaling pathways that could regulate ABI5 during seed germination, including transcription factors, E3 ligases, protein kinases, and phosphatases. The precise molecular mechanisms by which ABI5 mediates ABA-GA antagonistic crosstalk during seed germination are also discussed. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the dominating tumors causing death due to lack of timely discovery and valid treatment. Abnormal increase of Rac GTPase activating protein 1 (RACGAP1) has been verified to be an oncogene in plenty tumors. The profound mechanism of RACGAP1 was rarely reported in HCC. In this study, we explored the function and mechanism of RACGAP1 in HCC through multiple analysis and experiments. RACGAP1 expression was up-regulated in HCC samples and the high expression of RACGAP1 was an independent prognostic risk factor for HCC patients. Meanwhile, RACGAP1 promoted developments of HCC both in vitro and in vivo. We verified that RACGAP1 promoted proliferation of HCC via PI3K/AKT/CDK2 and PI3K/AKT/GSK3 β /Cyclin D1 signaling pathway. RACGAP1 accelerated the invasion and metastasis of HCC via phosphorylation of GSK3 β and nuclear translocation of β -catenin. Furthermore, by luciferase reporter assay and Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assay, we confirmed Recombinant GA Binding Protein Transcription Factor Alpha (GABPA) regulated the transcription of RACGAP1. Background: Literature related to within-gender differences in depression among older individuals in China is sparse, and often limited to specific provinces., Methods: We analyzed data on 8104 participants from the fourth waves of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS). Using logistic regressions, we identified the correlates of depressive symptoms among older individuals, both in the aggregate and along gender lines. Additionally, we examined the interaction between other covariates and gender., Results: The prevalence of late-life depression symptoms among females was 45.79%, which was higher than among males (31.13%, P < 0.01). Living in a rural area, earned income, education level, tobacco use and number of chronic diseases were correlated with depression in both genders (P < 0.05), with no interaction (P int  > 0.050). Social activities were correlated with depression in males but not in females (P int  = 0.373), inverse in their 70s (P int  = 0.020) group. The correlation between daily sleep duration and depression is stronger in females than in males (P int  ≤ 0.020). Female who drunk <1 per month decreased their prevalence of depression, but it increased in males (P int  = 0.001). Taking part in LTPA and being a religious believer were correlated with depression in females (P < 0.05), but not in males (P (LTPA)int  = 0.009; P (religious believers)int  = 0.033)., Limitations: Since only analyzed one wave of data, we could not conclude that there was causation., Conclusions: Geriatric depression is a serious mental health issue in China. Although the beneficial effects of the agricultural extension of farmers' biopesticides adoption have been largely demonstrated, the questions of what approaches can better extend biopesticides and how to improve their effectiveness still need to be explored. In a survey of 1148 rice farmers in Hubei Province, China, the technology supply and demand theory is used to explain the low efficiency of biopesticides extension. The endogenous switching probit model is used to estimate the impact of biopesticides technology publicity, training, demonstration and subsidies on farmers' adoption. The results show that biopesticides extension can promote rice farmers' adoption probability by 10.3 ~ 11.7%. And technology demonstration is currently the best way to extend biopesticides. Moreover, inadequate supply and demand of biopesticides are important for explaining the inefficiency of biopesticides extension in China. Extending biopesticides is better for farmers with smaller scales, younger ages, and lower education and for those who are cooperative members. Therefore, we should not only actively conduct biopesticides demonstration but also more importantly induce farmers' biopesticides demand and secure the market supply of biopesticide products. These findings will provide useful guidance for biopesticides extension and pesticides reduction in China and other developing countries., (© 2022. Coordinated phytohormone signal transduction, in which repressors are the key players, is essential to balance plant development and stress response. In the absence of phytohormones, repressors interplay to terminate the transcription of phytohormone-responsive genes. For phytohormone signal transduction, degradation or inactivation of the repressors is a prerequisite, a process in which proteasomal degradation or protein modifications, such as phosphorylation, are involved. In this review, we summarize the various repressor proteins and their methods of regulation. In addition, we also shed light on other post-transcriptional modifications, including protein sumoylation, acetylation, methylation, and S-nitrosylation, which might be involved in repressor regulation. We conclude that repressors are the gatekeepers of phytohormone signaling, allowing transcription of phytohormone-responsive genes only when required and thus serving as a universal mechanism to conserve energy in plants. Finally, we strongly recommend that plant research should be focused further on elucidating the mechanisms regulating repressor abundance or activity, to improve our understanding of phytohormone signal transduction., (© 2022.
