Background: Primary Health Care nurses express deficits in their training in Palliative Care. The purpose of this study is to design a Palliative Care training plan and a bereavement care protocol for Primary Health Care nurses of the Dr. Peset Health Department according to their needs. Methods: Assessment of theoretical and practical training needs and literature review for the design of the training plan. Results: A training plan was elaborated that included a protocol of care for the bereaved. The plan was adjusted to the needs detected in Primary Health Care nurses of the Dr. Peset Health Department. Important training deficits were detected in clinical practice; Conclusions: Improving the care of people with palliative needs in Primary Health Care requires adequate training of the nurses who care for them so their knowledge is the basis of their interventions. This study was not registered.

In an increasingly innovative competitive environment, it is necessary to know the customer in depth and to understand the intrinsic determinants of customer loyalty to the restaurant and brand equity. Culture is a fundamental factor in understanding behaviour, which has often attracted interest because of its moderating rather than determining role. The objective of this research is to examine the determinant role of customers' cultural values (long-term orientation, power distance, and uncertainty avoidance) on the customer's attitudinal process in the restaurant (satisfaction and loyalty) in order to understand how it indirectly affects through the attitudinal process the formation of a restaurant's brand equity. A sample of 540 customers was used, and a SEM model was estimated. The results indicate that cultural values, except for power distance, strongly determine the attitudinal process. Therefore, culture indirectly affects the formation of the restaurant's brand equity., En un entorno competitivo cada vez más innovador, se hace necesario conocer en profundidad al cliente, y entender los determinantes intrínsecos de la lealtad del cliente hacia el restaurante y el capital de marca. La cultura es un factor fundamental para la comprensión del comportamiento, que frecuentemente ha despertado el interés por su papel moderador en mayor medida que determinante. El objetivo de esta investigación es examinar el papel determinante de los valores culturales de los clientes (Orientación en el tiempo, distancia de poder, y aversión al riesgo) sobre el proceso actitudinal del cliente en el restaurante (satisfacción y lealtad), para comprender cómo afecta de forma indirecta a través del proceo actitudinal en la formación del capital de marca de un restaurante. Se ha utilizado una muestra de 540 clientes, y se ha llevado a acabo la estimación de un modelo SEM. Los resultados indican que los valores culturales tienen un potente efecto determinante en el proceso actitudinal, a excepción de la distancia de poder. Clustering is a well-known unsupervised machine learning approach capable of automatically grouping discrete sets of instances with similar characteristics. Constrained clustering is a semi-supervised extension to this process that can be used when expert knowledge is available to indicate constraints that can be exploited. Well-known examples of such constraints are must-link (indicating that two instances belong to the same group) and cannot-link (two instances definitely do not belong together). The research area of constrained clustering has grown significantly over the years with a large variety of new algorithms and more advanced types of constraints being proposed. However, no unifying overview is available to easily understand the wide variety of available methods, constraints and benchmarks. To remedy this, this study presents in-detail the background of constrained clustering and provides a novel ranked taxonomy of the types of constraints that can be used in constrained clustering. In addition, it focuses on the instance-level pairwise constraints, and gives an overview of its applications and its historical context. Finally, it presents a statistical analysis covering 307 constrained clustering methods, categorizes them according to their features, and provides a ranking score indicating which methods have the most potential based on their popularity and validation quality. Finally, based upon this analysis, potential pitfalls and future research directions are provided.

This study addresses the problem of performing clustering in the presence of two types of background knowledge: pairwise constraints and monotonicity constraints. To achieve this, the formal framework to perform clustering under monotonicity constraints is, firstly, defined, resulting in a specific distance measure. Pairwise constraints are integrated afterwards by designing an objective function which combines the proposed distance measure and a pairwise constraint-based penalty term, in order to fuse both types of information. This objective function can be optimized with an EM optimization scheme. The proposed method serves as the first approach to the problem it addresses, as it is the first method designed to work with the two types of background knowledge mentioned above. Our proposal is tested in a variety of benchmark datasets and in a real-world case of study.

Introduction: Skin injury and wound healing is an inevitable event during lifetime. However, several complications may hamper the regeneration of the cutaneous tissue and lead to a chronic profile that prolongs patient recovery. Platelet-rich plasma is rising as an effective and safe alternative to the management of wounds. However, this technology presents some limitations such as the need for repeated blood extractions and health-care interventions. Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the use of an endogenous and storable topical serum (ES) derived from plasma rich in growth factors promoting wound healing, and to obtain preliminary data regarding its clinical and experimental effect over ulcerated skin models and patient care. Methods: Human dermal fibroblast and 3D organotypic ulcerated skin models were used to assess ES over the main mechanisms of wound healing including cell migration, edge contraction, collagen synthesis, tissue damage, extracellular matrix remodeling, cell death, metabolic activity, and histomorphometry analysis. Additionally, 4 patients suffering from skin wounds were treated and clinically assessed. Results: ES promoted dermal fibroblast migration, wound edge contraction, and collagen synthesis. When topically applied, ES increased collagen and elastin deposition and reduced tissue damage. The interstitial edema, structural integrity, and cell activity were also maintained, and apoptotic levels were reduced. Patients suffering from hard-to-heal wounds of different etiologies were treated with ES, and the ulcers healed completely within few weeks with no reported adverse events. Conclusion: This preliminary study suggests that ES might promote cutaneous wound healing and may be useful for accelerating the re-epithelization of skin ulcers.

There is little literature on the use of face masks in a treadmill test (TMT) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of face masks during a TMT performed during the prepandemic (without face mask) and postpandemic (with face mask) era.Retrospective observational unicentric study of patients undergoing TMT. The inclusion criterion were being over 16years old and having performed at least one TMT in the prepandemic and postpandemic period.One thousand six hundred fifty-five patients were included in the study. Nine hundred thirty-five (56.5%) were men and 720 (43.5%) women. The mean age was 57.3±14.9 and the mean follow-up time was 15.4 months. Fifty-three percent patients had arterial hypertension, 20% dyslipidemia, 12% diabetes mellitus, 8% smoking habit, 19% personal history of ischemic heart disease, 5% COPD, 8% bronchial asthma, and 8% atrial fibrillation. In almost all the variables studied in PE, including the appearance of ventricular arrhythmias, no significant differences were found, neither by age nor sex, except for the existence of a very slight decrease in exercise capacity with mask use in older patients (65years).The use of surgical or FFP2 face masks during the TMT did not affect functional capacity, blood pressure, heart rate, or increased ventricular arrhythmias.

Only 40.5% feel quite or very prepared to take care for palliative patients. Nurses demanded more training in psycho-emotional and grief and coping with losses. 83.76% passed the theoretical block compared to 43.36% of the practical, detecting higher training needs in the last (P.001). The passed rates varied depending on the educational level.Nursing training in PC in primary care continues to be deficient, especially in practical application. Targeted training is necessary to have an impact on the care of people with palliative needs and their families.

Objectives The purpose of this exploratory non-randomized controlled study was to determine the acceptance and effectiveness of an 8-week mindfulness-based intervention (MBI) co-designed by a police officer. Methods A pretest-posttest control group design was followed. Participants (MBI group = 20; control group = 18) answered baseline and post-training self-reported measures. In addition, the weekly emotional state of the MBI group was collected. Paired-samples t-test and analysis of covariance were performed for pre-post within-group and between-group differences, respectively, as well as linear mixed effects analysis of repeated measures for week-by-week data. Results High acceptance and attendance rates, as well as significant pre-post within-group differences in the MBI group in mindfulness (η2 = 0.43), self-compassion (η2 = 0.43), depression (η2 = 0.54), anxiety (η2 = 0.46), stress (η2 = 0.51), difficulties in emotion regulation, sleep quality (η2 = 0.57), and burnout (η2 = 0.31–0.47), were identified. Moreover, police officers who underwent the MBI experienced a week by week decrease of anger, disgust, anxiety, sadness, and desire. Finally, after adjusting for pre-test scores, significant between-group differences were found in the way of attending to internal and external experiences (observing mindfulness facet; ηp2 = 0.21), depression symptoms (ηp2 = 0.23), general distress (ηp2 = 0.24), and the degree of physical and psychological exhaustion (personal burnout; ηp2 = 0.20). Conclusions The preliminary effectiveness of this MBI on psychopathology and quality of life outcomes in Spanish police officers was discussed. Previous evidence regarding the promising use of MBIs in this population was supported.

Background The Burn Specifc Health Scale-Brief (BSHS-B) is considered a validated questionnaire to evaluate quality of life after burn. The purpose of this study was to translate the BSHS-B into Spanish and perform its cross-cultural adaptation. Methods First, BSHS-B was translated from English into Spanish. Subsequently, 84 patients answered the Spanish version of BSHS-B and SF-36 scales to assess the reliability (Cronbach’s alpha), construct validity (Spearman rank test), and stabil ity in time (intra-class correlation coefcient). Results The BSHS-B-Sp showed a good internal consistency with a global Cronbach’s alpha of 0.96. Correlations between the major domains of BSHS-B and SF-36 are reported with Spearman’s coefcient ranging from 0.29 to 0.87 in all sub domains (p

La tardía incorporación de España al circuito internacional de la publicación de resultados de investigación científica en Comunicación no ha sido óbice para que, de forma reciente, alcance parámetros similares a los de la investigación internacional en esta disciplina. Esta progresión, no obstante, presenta todavía algunos obstáculos. Este trabajo realiza un análisis de copalabras y de cocitación de la estructura intelectual y temática a través de los artículos publicados por investigadores adscritos a centros españoles en revistas indexadas en la categoría Communication de Scopus y publicados entre 1980 y 2020 (n=7.422). De esta forma se aborda un análisis de la estructura intelectual y temática de los estudios en Comunicación entre 1980 y 2020 y su evolución. Se pretende contextualizar este proceso, de forma amplia, estableciendo sus similitudes y diferencias con la investigación europea (n=33.615) y latinoamericana (n=5.160) en Comunicación durante el mismo período. Los resultados muestran una homogeneización de los intereses de investigación entre los académicos españoles y sus homólogos europeos en la última década, con un énfasis en las tecnologías digitales y las redes sociales. También hacen su aparición los primeros referentes destacados en la investigación española aunque, todavía, no hayan conseguido constituirse como tales en el escenario internacional durante la última década. Se concluye que la investigación española en Comunicación se ha desarrollado en torno al Periodismo mientras que las otras disciplinas clásicas (Comunicación Audiovisual y Publicidad y Relaciones Públicas) no han logrado consolidar una comunidad temática e intelectual coherente y cohesionada hasta el momento, principalmente debido a su mayor heterogeneidad.

In vitro blood–brain barrier (BBB) models are a useful tool to screen the permeability and toxicity of new drugs. Currently, many different in vitro BBB models coexist, but none stands out as being notably better than the rest. Therefore, there is still a need to evaluate the quality of BBB models under various conditions and assess their ability to mimic the in vivo situation. In this study, two brain endothelial cell lines (bEnd.3 and hCMEC/D3) and two epithelial-like cell lines (MDCKII and Caco-2) were selected for BBB modelling purposes. They were grown as monolayers of a single cell type, under the following conditions: in coculture with either primary or immortalised astrocytes; or in the presence of primary or immortalised astrocyte-derived conditioned media. A total of 20 different BBB models were established in this manner, in order to assess the effects of the astroglial components on the BBB phenotype in each case. To this end, six parameters were studied: the expression of selected tight junction proteins; the enzyme activities of alkaline phosphatase and of gamma glutamyl transpeptidase; the transendothelial/transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER); restriction in paracellular transport; and efflux transporter inhibition were each evaluated and correlated. The results showed that coculturing with either primary or immortalised astrocytes led to a general improvement in all parameters studied, evidencing the contribution of this cell type to effective BBB formation. Furthermore, the permeability coefficient ( P e) of the tracer molecule, Lucifer Yellow, correlated with three of the six parameters studied. In addition, this study highlights the potential for the use of the Lucifer Yellow P e value as an indicator of barrier integrity in in vitro BBB models, which could be useful for screening the permeability of new drugs.

Aim: This study aims to assess the influence of training on nurses’ attitudes toward end-of-life care during the COVID-19 pandemic alarm state in Spain. Design: Cross-sectional descriptive study. Data collection was carried out by means of an ad hoc questionnaire using Google Forms in April and May 2020. The score of attitudes toward end-of-life care was used, to which sociodemographic variables and training in palliative care were added. Methods: Data were collected from 238 nursing professionals who had cared for COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 adult patients at the end-of-life stage in a hospital or nursing home. Results: Results showed that 51% of the nurses in the sample had training in palliative care. However, the percentage decreased to 38.5% among those who cared for COVID-19 patients and to 44.5% in those who cared for non-COVID-19 patients. In relation to attitudes about end-of-life care, more positive attitudes and a higher mean score were found in the trained group. Conclusions: Palliative care training is a key element in end-of-life care and is even more important in times of COVID-19. Impact: Although end-of-life accompaniment has been studied, few studies have included the influence of training on this during the pandemic. This study identifies key elements of accompaniment and training in a comparison of COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients during the pandemic. In relation to attitudes toward end-of-life care, the results showed a more positive attitude and a higher mean score in the trained group (3.43 ± 0.37 versus 3.21 ± 0.32), the difference being statistically significant (p &lt, 0.001).

Engineered nanomaterials (ENMs) are of significant relevance due to their unique properties, which have been exploited for widespread applications. Cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeO2-NPs) are one of most exploited ENM in the industry due to their excellent catalytic and multi-enzyme mimetic properties. Thus, the toxicological effects of these ENMs should be further studied. In this study, the acute and subchronic toxicity of CeO2-NPs were assessed. First, an in vitro multi-dose short-term (24 h) toxicological assessment was performed in three different cell lines: A549 and Calu3 were used to represented lung tissue and 3T3 was used as an interstitial tissue model. After that, a sub-chronic toxicity assessment (90 days) of these NPs was carried out on a realistic and well-established reconstituted primary human airway epithelial model (MucilAir™), cultured at the Air–Liquid Interface (ALI), to study the long-term effects of these particles. Results showed minor toxicity of CeO2-NPs in acute exposures. However, in subchronic exposures, cytotoxic and inflammatory responses were observed in the human airway epithelial model after 60 days of exposure to CeO2-NPs. These results suggest that acute toxicity approaches may underestimate the toxicological effect of some ENMs, highlighting the need for subchronic toxicological studies in order to accurately assess the toxicity of ENM and their cumulative effects in organisms.

Esta investigación realiza un análisis de contenido de 103 códigos de ética periodística de todo el mundo para comprobar su adaptación a las circunstancias derivadas de la pandemia Covid-1٩. A partir de siete recomendaciones formuladas por la Ethical Journalism Network (EJN), se analiza su presencia o ausencia en los códigos. Los resultados muestran una presencia desigual de los principios y diferencias importantes entre los códigos. Ninguno de ellos comprende las siete recomendaciones y solo uno asume seis de ellas. Por el contrario, 17 códigos contienen únicamente una recomendación y dos de ellos no recogen ninguna. Se concluye que las recomendaciones de la EJN más presentes en los códigos se relacionan con principios muy asentados en la ética periodística que dependen habitualmente de la fecha de actualización. Se propone incorporar secciones específicas sobre salud a los códigos. This article presents the results of a content analysis of 103 journalistic codes of ethics throughout the world conducted to test the adaptation of these codes to Covid-19 pandemic. Based on seven recommendations formulated by the Ethical Journalism Network (EJN), we analyze the presence or absence of each principle. The findings show an uneven presence of the principles and important differences across the codes. None of the codes cover the seven recommendations and just one addressed six of them. In contrast, 17 codes contain only one recommendation and two do not contain any. The EJN recommendations that are most present in the codes address well-established principles in journalistic ethics. The year of the latest update of the code is also a determining factor. Specific sections on health should be incorporated into the codes. Esse artigo desenvolve uma análise de conteúdo de 103 códigos jornalísticos de ética em todo o mundo para testar sua adaptação às circunstâncias da Covid-19. Com base nas sete recomendações formuladas pela Ethical Journalism Network (EJN), analisa a presença ou ausência de cada princípio. Os resultados mostram uma presença desigual de princípios e importantes diferenças entre os códigos. Nenhum deles entende as sete recomendações e apenas uma assume seis delas. Em contraste, 17 códigos contêm apenas uma recomendação e dois deles não contêm nenhum. Conclui-se que as recomendações da EJN mais presentes nos códigos dizem respeito a princípios muito estabelecidos na ética jornalística. O ano da última atualização do código também se torna um fator determinante. Propõe-se incorporar seções específicas de saúde nos códigos.

Esta investigación analiza -a partir de diferentes tipos de documentación- los rastros de las emisiones deportivas de Radio Nacional de España durante el primer franquismo. Se identifican las guías de actuación que siguió Radio Nacional de España en sus emisiones deportivas como voz oficial del Estado durante el primer franquismo. En el análisis de esta documentación se advierten los propósitos de los dirigentes, los problemas a los que el ente estatal de radio tuvo que hace frente y -se apuntan- los objetivos de estas emisiones. Las conclusiones señalan dos niveles en las emisiones deportivas de Radio Nacional de España. Por un lado, su rol de catalizador de los anhelos ideológicos y políticos de la dictadura y, por otro lado, canalizar una vía de entretenimiento y ocio para las clases populares durante este periodo. Abstract: This research analyzes -from different types of documentation- the traces of the sports broadcasts of National Radio of Spain during the first Franco regime. The guidelines for action followed by National Radio of Spain in its sports broadcasts are identified as the official voice of the State during the first Franco regime. In the analysis of this documentation, the intentions of the leaders, the problems to which the state radio agency had to face and - they point out - the objectives of these emissions are noticed. The conclusions point to two levels in the sports broadcasts of National Radio of Spain. On the one hand, its role as a catalyst for the ideological and political aspirations of the dictatorship and, on the other hand, channeling a path of entertainment and leisure for the popular classes during this period.

Objetivo Valorar la formación, la percepción de preparación y las necesidades formativas en cuidados paliativos (CP) teóricas y prácticas de las enfermeras de atención primaria en España. Diseño Estudio descriptivo transversal. Emplazamiento Centros de atención primaria en España con acceso online. Participantes Enfermeras de atención primaria en España durante enero y febrero de 2021. De las 344 respuestas, 339 cumplían criterios de inclusión. Mediciones principales Se analizaron variables sociodemográficas, formación en CP, necesidades de formación mediante cuestionario online de Google Forms e Instrumento INCUE. Se realizaron análisis descriptivos y se compararon los resultados mediante test de simetría exacto y test de Mann-Whitney. Resultados Mayoritariamente mujeres (82,6%) con una media de edad de 45,5 años. El 86,1% de las enfermeras encuestadas tenían formación en CP, siendo básica en el 45,4%. Solo el 40,5% se sienten bastante o muy preparadas para cuidar de pacientes paliativos. Demandaban mayor formación en psicoemocional y duelo y afrontamiento de pérdidas. Superaron el bloque teórico el 83,76%, frente el 43,36% del práctico, detectándose mayores necesidades formativas en este último (p < 0,001). Las proporciones de capacitados variaban en función del nivel formativo. Conclusiones La formación enfermera en CP en atención primaria continúa siendo deficitaria sobre todo en su aplicación práctica, siendo necesaria formación dirigida para que repercuta en el cuidado de las personas con necesidades paliativas y sus familias.

Resumen Objetivo Analizar la mortandad de la muestra en investigaciones con pacientes paliativos oncologicos en domicilio. Metodo Estudio descriptivo y transversal. Se planteo un estudio multicentrico con muestreo intencional entre enero 2011 y junio 2012. Criterios de inclusion: Pacientes oncologicos subsidiarios de cuidados paliativos, ECOG 2-3, mayores de 18 anos, con cuidador familiar en domicilio y consentimiento informado. Se analizaron variables sociodemograficas, mortandad de la muestra y otros factores relacionados con las dificultades en el reclutamiento, la participacion y los tiempos de dilacion entre las etapas de la investigacion. Se realizaron analisis descriptivos e inferenciales. Resultados Ciento treinta y cuatro pacientes cumplian criterios de inclusion, con una edad media de 69,97 anos. El 50% eran hombres, estando casados el 58,2% y viudos el 29,9%. Tan solo 57 pacientes concluyeron el estudio. El 53% de los pacientes no fueron incluidos en el estudio, un 4,5% de las entrevistas no se concluyeron, por lo que la mortandad de la muestra fue del 57,5%. Declinaron participar el 35,2% de los pacientes (57,7% hombres) y el 42,3% de los cuidadores (80,3% mujeres). El equipo excluyo al 22,5%de los pacientes por causas clinicas. Las causas de la no participacion fueron: sin especificar el 29,6%; reagudizacion de los sintomas el 25,4%; deterioro del estado general el 23,9%; exitus el 8,5%; no problemas alimenticios el 5,6%; falta de tiempo el 4,2%; no firmar el consentimiento el 1,4%; y no implicar a la cuidadora el 1,4%.Todas las entrevistas no concluidas fueron causadas por reagudizacion sintomatica. El tiempo transcurrido entre el reclutamiento y el sondeo sobre la participacion no fue estadisticamente significativo entre los participantes y los no participantes. Tampoco lo fue entre las entrevistas concluidas y las no concluidas. Conclusiones El diseno de cualquier investigacion en paliativos deberia tener en cuenta la alta mortandad de la muestra en este tipo de investigaciones, no habiendose encontrado factores facilmente modificables por el investigador que puedan disminuirla.

The medial margins of the costal plates indicates that this taxon showed an alternation of rectangular plates with non-rectangular ones, at least some of them probably being octagonal (Fig. 12 A-C). At least some of the neurals are wider than long (Fig. 12D). The length of the first costal is interpreted as almost half of its width. Some costals were longer medially than laterally, but this condition was the reverse in others. The proximal region of the dorsal ribs was reduced. The vertebral scutes are interpreted as narrow, since they show a relatively short overlap on the costals. The sulci between the pleural and the marginal scutes were located on the contact area between the costal and the peripheral plates, which corresponded to well-developed sutures. This taxon lacked pointed tips in the region of contact of the sulci between two adjacent marginals with the lateral borders of the peripherals. The entoplastron was noticeably wider than long (Fig. 12E). Due to its preservation, boundaries between scutes are not recognized on its ventral surface. The preserved postero-lateral area of a xiphiplastron, interpreted as belonging to a male considering the morphology of this plate in the genus Titanochelon, allows the identification of a well-developed ventral thickening posterior to the femoro-anal sulcus (Fig. 12F). That region shows a lateral protuberance. Ahead of this, the lateral margin of the xiphiplastron is almost straight. In fact, the posterior plastral lobe is trapezoidal, lacking a well-developed anal notch. Several appendicular elements are recognized, including a fragment of the diaphysis of a robust femur, some elements of the carpal complex, and several phalanges. A medial fused with a lateral centrale is identified among the elements of the carpal complex (Fig. 12 G-J). DESCRIPTION The maximum length of the shells of the larger specimens of the freshwater turtles identified at both Monte Pila and Fuenmayor is close to 20 cm (Figs 3-10). However, elements corresponding to individuals of very varied sizes are identified, some of them with a length of less than half that of the largest specimens. Some of the most complete shells, as well as the articulated elements of other specimens recognized as adult individuals due to their size, show fusion of many of their sutures, so that the margins of each plate cannot be recognized in them (Figs 3; 5). The thickness of the plates is greater in the larger individuals. Although the width/length ratio of the shell is variable, this form shows a relatively wide carapace, being recognized as slightly longer than wide in some cases (Fig.3G). The carapaces are low. The abundance of specimens allows assessment of the variability in morphology and dimensions of several elements. For example, the relatively wide nuchal plates are almost as long as wide in some individuals, but slightly wider than long in others (Fig. 4 A-L). All of them show a thickening in the visceral region. The neural series anteriorly contacts the nuchal plate, and posteriorly the suprapygals. The neurals are wide in relation to their length (Fig. 4 M-O; 10C, D). The morphology of these plates is variable. However, most of them are hexagonal, with the shortest margins being postero-laterally located. Although the anterior suprapygal is subquadrangular, the posterior is hexagonal, noticeably wider than long (Fig. 4 Q-W). The pygal is also subquadrangular (Fig. 4 X-Z). This taxon has a single cervical scute (Figs 3A; 4 A-L; 9F). Its lateral margins are subrounded. Its width/length ratio shows a wide range of variability, being slightly wider than long in some specimens, but almost twice as long as wide in others. The overlap of the cervical on the visceral surface of the nuchal is relatively long. The vertebral scutes are hexagonal, almost as wide as they are long (Fig. 3 A-G). The first and last ones are slightly wider than the second to fourth vertebrals, which are all similar in width. However, the vertebral series is narrow, the first scute being narrower than the nuchal in many cases, not overlapping the postero-lateral margins of this plate. The fifth vertebral overlaps the anterior region of the pygal plate (Fig. 4 X-Z). The contact between the hyoplastra and the hypoplastra, and that between the hypoplastra and the peripheral series, corresponds to a ligamentous junction, so that a hinge is developed between these plates, allowing mobility of the posterior plastral region (Figs 3F; 5 A-F; 7B-M; 8; 9D-E; 10A, B). The lateral margins of both plastral lobes are subrounded. The anterior lobe is very wide. Its anterior margin varies from subrounded to almost straight. Although the posterior lobe is clearly expanded in some specimens, it is much narrower in others. Thus, the development of the anal notch is variable in width and length, as is the shape of its margins (Figs 3F; 7 N-U; 8; 10A, B). The epiplastral lip is concave (Figs 5; 6 A-V; 9A, B; 10A, B, G-L). Both the length and the thickness of this lip are observed to be highly variable. The dorsal thickening of this lip shows a pair of anterior processes, which exceed the margin of the anterior plastral lobe, at the level of the contacts between the gulars and the humerals. The gular scutes overlap the anterior region of the entoplastron in some specimens, but not in others (Fig. 6 W-AC). In the same way, the humero-pectoral sulci may be located next to the posterior margin of the entoplastron in some specimens, but overlap this plate in others, ranging from a very short overlap of the pectorals on the entoplastron in some individu- als, to a relatively long overlap, greater than a quarter of the length of this plate, in others. The abdominal scutes overlap the posterior region of the hyoplastra (Figs 5 A-F; 7B-I; 9D-E; 10A). The anal scutes are restricted to the xiphiplastra, their anterior margin being well away from the suture between those plates and the hypoplastra (Figs 7 N-U; 8; 9C; 10A, N).

Introducción" Disponible versión en inglés Se analiza la percepción que tiene el profesorado sobre su capacidad y formación, inicial y permanente, para atender las necesidades educativas especiales del alumnado que requiere apoyos extensos y generalizados. Se utilizó un diseño de investigación no experimental, descriptivo, tipo encuesta. La selección de la muestra se realizó mediante un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia en el que participaron 88 aulas abiertas en la Región de Murcia, y 490 profesionales (tutor/a aula abierta, tutor/a aula de referencia, y el equipo docente y profesional de estas aulas). Para la recogida de la información se utilizaron tres cuestionarios elaborados ad hoc, dirigidos al tutor/a de aula abierta especializada, tutor/a de aula de referencia, y equipo docente y profesional del aula abierta especializada. Los ítems de los cuestionarios están agrupados en tres dimensiones: formación inicial y permanente, planificación y coordinación del aula abierta, valoración sobre el aula abierta. El análisis de datos se ha realizado desde una aproximación cuantitativa a partir de estadísticos descriptivos, análisis inferencial, en función de variables sociodemográficas (sexo, dedicación, etapa educativa, titularidad del centro, perfil profesional, experiencia en el centro, experiencia con el grupo de alumnos y edad), y análisis correlacional. Los resultados indican la falta de formación y capacidad de los participantes para responder a las necesidades educativas del alumnado de las aulas abiertas, siendo esta situación más acuciante en el profesorado no especialista en atención a la diversidad. Asimismo, se muestra una correlación positiva entre la formación recibida, el conocimiento del aula abierta y el desarrollo de funciones de planificación y ajustes curriculares, para ofrecer respuestas inclusivas al alumnado que requiere apoyos extensos y generalizados. Aim: This study aims to assess the influence of training on nurses' attitudes toward end-of-life care during the COVID-19 pandemic alarm state in Spain. Design: Cross-sectional descriptive study. Data collection was carried out by means of an ad hoc questionnaire using Google Forms in April and May 2020. The score of attitudes toward end-of-life care was used, to which sociodemographic variables and training in palliative care were added. Methods: Data were collected from 238 nursing professionals who had cared for COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 adult patients at the end-of-life stage in a hospital or nursing home. Results: Results showed that 51% of the nurses in the sample had training in palliative care. However, the percentage decreased to 38.5% among those who cared for COVID-19 patients and to 44.5% in those who cared for non-COVID-19 patients. In relation to attitudes about end-of-life care, more positive attitudes and a higher mean score were found in the trained group. Conclusions: Palliative care training is a key element in end-of-life care and is even more important in times of COVID-19. Impact: Although end-of-life accompaniment has been studied, few studies have included the influence of training on this during the pandemic. This study identifies key elements of accompaniment and training in a comparison of COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients during the pandemic. In relation to attitudes toward end-of-life care, the results showed a more positive attitude and a higher mean score in the trained group (3.43 +/- 0.37 versus 3.21 +/- 0.32), the difference being statistically significant (p < 0.001).

Una vez identificadas las dimensiones que influyen en la seguridad industrial, la investigación, concluye que, el mayor porcentaje de trabajadores de la empresa percibe de manera negativa la eficiencia, la eficacia y la efectividad de la seguridad industrial; así mismo se ha establecido la existencia de normas y políticas de seguridad industrial aplicables en nuestro país y finalmente se ha propuesto un plan de capacitación sobre seguridad industrial para el área de producción de la empresa COMOLSA, el mismo que ha sido validado por los expertos y la gerencia misma. Este monográfico pretende servir tanto de mapa como de brújula para la investigación en Comunicación. Para ello ofrece una serie de artículos que cartografían algunos objetos de estudio relevantes social y académicamente. De manera concreta, sintetizan qué y cómo se ha investigado acerca de la fotografía y el fotoperiodismo, el medio televisivo, la comunicación sobre cáncer en las redes sociales y de la desinformación. Tales revisiones sistemáticas resultarán de especial utilidad para quienes pretendan acercarse por primera vez a estos temas, necesiten consultar un compendio acerca de los principales debates y preguntas que despiertan en la disciplina y, especialmente, para identificar potenciales nuevas líneas de trabajo. Asimismo, se exploran y aplican nuevas metodologías, concretamente el análisis computacional y automatizado de grandes volúmenes de datos, aplicado al estudio de titulares de prensa.

En los últimos años, la occidentalización de las tendencias arquitectónicas ha cambiado drásticamente el paisaje de las zonas rurales de Senegal que enfrentan dificultades socioeconómicas y climáticas. Las comunidades locales están presenciando ahora la desaparición de las viviendas tradicionales de varios grupos étnicos, entre los cuales destaca el Wolof, en favor de las viviendas modernas. Este nuevo tipo de construcción en forma de cubo, de hormigón y láminas onduladas, aparece como símbolo de una arquitectura más duradera, mientras que la típica casa vernácula adolece de una percepción negativa entre la población local. De hecho, se considera efímero, obsoleto y socialmente anticuado. El modo de vivienda contemporáneo, por su parte, está ganando popularidad principalmente porque ofrece una resistencia superior al desgaste y a los peligros naturales. Pero a pesar de estas ventajas, estos edificios presentan importantes inconvenientes. Algunos de los nuevos materiales utilizados son muy costosos, disminuyen el confort térmico de los hogares, contribuyen a las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero y son potencialmente peligrosos para la salud humana, incluso en caso de exposición limitada. Paralelamente a la expansión de este nuevo tipo de vivienda, otra respuesta arquitectónica a los cambios socioeconómicos, ambientales y culturales en las zonas rurales de Senegal se puede ver en el complejo escolar construido por Toshiko Mori Studio hace poco más de un año en Fass, un pueblo de la costa oeste de Senegal. Esta arquitecto es parte de una nueva ola de profesionales del diseño socialmente comprometidos que están involucrados en la construcción de edificios sostenibles y asequibles para las poblaciones más vulnerables. Inspirado por las culturas de construcción vernáculas potencialmente duraderas, este nuevo tipo de arquitectura a menudo etiquetado como ‘neovernacular’, es sociocultural, amigable con el medio ambiente y prometedora en favor del empoderamiento de la comunidad local. Si bien estos objetivos son reconocidos unánimemente por los beneficios que se obtienen, la escasez de tales proyectos a nivel del suelo muestra sin embargo que no siempre se alcanzan. Debido a la falta de adaptabilidad y costos que aún son prohibitivos para las comunidades locales, este tipo de construcción aún necesita mejoras, a pesar de las soluciones relevantes ya propuestas.

En esta tesis se exploran métodos y modelos matemáticos como herramientas para descifrar interrogantes acerca de la dinámica tumoral y la recaída. Nos centramos en la leucemia, cáncer de las células blancas sanguíneas que se desarrolla en la médula ósea. Los tumores asociados a la leucemia, así como los tumores cerebrales, son la primera causa de fallecimiento por cáncer en niños y jóvenes adultos. Se examinan múltiples modelos matemáticos, basados en ecuaciones diferenciales ordinarias o parciales, dada su capacidad para describir dinámicas tumorales, especialmente la de la leucemia, el cáncer más frecuente en la infancia. Se desarrolla un modelo que describe la dinámica de los linfocitos B sanos, células blancas causantes de la leucemia linfoblástica aguda B, una de las más comunes en la edad pediátrica. Se consideran datos de citometría de flujo de pacientes, no sólo para describir el desarrollo de las células B, sino también para caracterizar biomarcadores capaces de predecir factores asociados a la recaída en el cáncer. Para ello, se analizan las diferencias en la intensidad de marcadores de superficie celular, tanto con técnicas de "machine learning", como con métodos topológicos, para así describir características de forma que predigan la recaída en pacientes con leucemia. Para finalizar, se recurre al método clásico de Lie para obtener soluciones de ecuaciones que describen de manera general la dinámica tumoral. Este estudio ha sido el resultado del esfuerzo colaborativo entre profesionales clínicos, hematólogos, inmunólogos y matemáticos. Esta investigación multidisciplinar tiene como objetivo el de entender las características tumorales, para así mejorar la clasificación de factores de riesgo y, por lo tanto, los protocolos terapéuticos asociados.

Many instruments have been created to measure knowledge and attitudes in palliative care. However, not only is it important to acquire knowledge, but also that this knowledge should reach patients and their relatives through application in clinical practice. This study aimed to develop and psychometrically test the INCUE questionnaire (Investigación Cuidados Enfermeros/Investigation into Nurses’ Care Understanding of End-of-Life) to assess the basic training needs of primary or home healthcare nurses in palliative care. A questionnaire was developed based on the classical theory of tests and factor analysis models. Initially, 18 experts developed 67 items in two blocks and determined content validity by two rounds of expert panels. Exploratory factor analysis and reliability testing were conducted with a non-probabilistic sample of 370 nurses. Some items were observed to have very low homogeneity indices or presented convergence problems and were eliminated. Questionnaire reliability was 0.700 in the theoretical block (KR20 Index) and 0.941 in the practical block (Cronbach’s alpha). The model converges and shows an adequate fit, specifically CFI = 0.977, TLI = 0.977 and RMSEA = 0.05. The correlation between the two factors in the model is ρ = 0.63. The questionnaire objectively evaluates primary or home healthcare nurses’ knowledge of palliative care and its practical application, thereby facilitating more efficient training plans.

Resumen basado en el de la publicación Título, resumen y palabras clave en español y en inglés Monográfico con el título: “COVID19, actividad física y formación del profesorado” La consecución de apoyos educativos inclusivos precisa de una respuesta a la diversidad común para todo el centro, que genere espacios que aseguren la presencia, la participación y el logro socioeducativo de todos los estudiantes. Se analiza cómo se desarrolla el apoyo educativo desde el marco de acción de la educación inclusiva en una comarca de la Región de Murcia. Se llevó a cabo una investigación descriptiva, no experimental y de corte mixto, a través de la utilización de un cuestionario en el que participaron 23 docentes de apoyo. Los resultados evidencian una desvinculación en las tareas del profesorado de apoyo hacia el aula ordinaria, una atención, en gran medida, individualizada y fuera del aula ordinaria hacia el alumnado que recibe apoyo, y una falta de coordinación y trabajo conjunto por parte de los docentes de apoyo y los docentes de aula ordinaria. Se concluye que la transformación de las barreras que dificultan el asentamiento de sistemas de apoyo inclusivo en facilitadores para la inclusión, pueden venir determinadas, por la existencia de un currículo más flexible, la formación docente en inclusión y la reformulación de los roles docentes hacia perfiles más colaborativos. This article presents the results of a content analysis of 103 journalistic codes of ethics throughout the world conducted to test the adaptation of these codes to Covid-19 pandemic. Based on seven recommendations formulated by the Ethical Journalism Network (EJN), we analyze the presence or absence of each principle. The findings show an uneven presence of the principles and important differences across the codes. None of the codes cover the seven recommendations and just one addressed six of them. In contrast, 17 codes contain only one recommendation and two do not contain any. The EJN recommendations that are most present in the codes address well-established principles in journalistic ethics. The year of the latest update of the code is also a determining factor. Esta investigación realiza un análisis de contenido de 103 códigos de ética periodística de todo el mundo para comprobar su adaptación a las circunstancias derivadas de la pandemia Covid-1٩. A partir de siete recomendaciones formuladas por la Ethical Journalism Network (EJN), se analiza su presencia o ausencia en los códigos. Los resultados muestran una presencia desigual de los principios y diferencias importantes entre los códigos. Ninguno de ellos comprende las siete recomendaciones y solo uno asume seis de ellas. Por el contrario, 17 códigos contienen únicamente una recomendación y dos de ellos no recogen ninguna. Se concluye que las recomendaciones de la EJN más presentes en los códigos se relacionan con principios muy asentados en la ética periodística que dependen habitualmente de la fecha de actualización. Se propone incorporar secciones específicas sobre salud a los códigos.

La educación es un derecho fundamental que aparece recogido en nuestra Constitución y por lo tanto, se ha de garantizar el de acceso a todos los ciudadanos y ciudadanas en condiciones de igualdad. Así mismo, la ley educativa actual entiende la educación como un instrumento que posibilita el pleno desarrollo de la persona y como un elemento de prevención frente a las desigualdades sociales. El absentismo escolar es un problema histórico de carácter endémico, cuyas consecuencias a largo plazo afectan de forma global a la persona. Con el presente trabajo se pretende realizar una investigación centrada en la visión que tiene el alumnado sobre esta problemática, de las causas que les llevan a no asistir a clase, las medidas sancionadoras que se realizan por parte de los centros educativos y la efectividad de las mismas, sin olvidar las diferentes propuestas de mejora desde su perspectiva, contemplando la visión de aquellos alumnos y alumnas que se ausentan y de los que asisten de forma asidua al centro educativo..., Education is one of the fundamental rights that is included in our Constitution and, therefore, the access to Education right must be guaranteed to all citizens under conditions of equality. This Letter presents a search for the production of new heavy resonances decaying into a Higgs boson and a photon using proton-proton collision data at s=13 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb-1. The analysis is performed by reconstructing hadronically decaying Higgs boson (H→bb¯) candidates as single large-radius jets. A novel algorithm using information about the jet constituents in the center-of-mass frame of the jet is implemented to identify the two b quarks in the single jet. No significant excess of events is observed above the expected background. Upper limits are set on the production cross-section times branching fraction for narrow spin-1 resonances decaying into a Higgs boson and a photon in the resonance mass range from 0.7 to 4 TeV, cross-section times branching fractions are excluded between 11.6 fb and 0.11 fb at a 95% confidence level.

In vitro blood-brain barrier (BBB) models are a useful tool to screen the permeability and toxicity of new drugs. Currently, many different in vitro BBB models coexist, but none stands out as being notably better than the rest. Therefore, there is still a need to evaluate the quality of BBB models under various conditions and assess their ability to mimic the in vivo situation. In this study, two brain endothelial cell lines (bEnd.3 and hCMEC/D3) and two epithelial-like cell lines (MDCKII and Caco-2) were selected for BBB modelling purposes. They were grown as monolayers of a single cell type, under the following conditions: in coculture with either primary or immortalised astrocytes; or in the presence of primary or immortalised astrocyte-derived conditioned media. A total of 20 different BBB models were established in this manner, in order to assess the effects of the astroglial components on the BBB phenotype in each case. To this end, six parameters were studied: the expression of selected tight junction proteins; the enzyme activities of alkaline phosphatase and of gamma glutamyl transpeptidase; the transendothelial/transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER); restriction in paracellular transport; and efflux transporter inhibition were each evaluated and correlated. The results showed that coculturing with either primary or immortalised astrocytes led to a general improvement in all parameters studied, evidencing the contribution of this cell type to effective BBB formation. Furthermore, the permeability coefficient (P e) of the tracer molecule, Lucifer Yellow, correlated with three of the six parameters studied. In addition, this study highlights the potential for the use of the Lucifer Yellow P e value as an indicator of barrier integrity in in vitro BBB models, which could be useful for screening the permeability of new drugs.

A search for Higgs boson decays into a Z boson and a light resonance in two-lepton plus jet events is performed, using a pp collision dataset with an integrated luminosity of 139 fb-1 collected at s=13 TeV by the ATLAS experiment at the CERN LHC. The resonance considered is a light boson with a mass below 4 GeV from a possible extended scalar sector or a charmonium state. Multivariate discriminants are used for the event selection and for evaluating the mass of the light resonance. No excess of events above the expected background is found. Observed (expected) 95% confidence-level upper limits are set on the Higgs boson production cross section times branching fraction to a Z boson and the signal resonance, with values in the range 17-340 pb (16-5+6-320-90+130 pb) for the different light spin-0 boson mass and branching fraction hypotheses, and with values of 110 and 100 pb (100-30+40 and 100-30+40 pb) for the ηc and J/ψ hypotheses, respectively.

Epigenetics is the study of changes in gene expression that cannot be explained by direct modifications in the DNA sequence and whose molecular basis is cytosine methylation and histone modification. Epigenetic regulation is a powerful discovery that allows a rational explanation to the phenomenon of phenotypic plasticity, that is, to the fact that certain environmental stimuli can alter the phenotype of an animal, generating an adaptive response without its genome being modified. Senegalese sole (Solea senegalensis) is a species that has established itself strongly in the diversification of the fish product market, thanks to its generally good adaptation to captivity and its relatively simple zootechnical management. However, there are weaknesses that notably delay the growth of its productivity, such as the reproductive dysfunction of individuals born in captivity or the high incidence of infectious diseases with high mortality. In this review, it is proposed that a greater understanding of the epigenetic regulation of the senegalese sole may help to resolve these problems. Therefore, the main objective of the work is to collect and integrate the information available in this field and apply it to the cultivation of the species. In summary, the main advances have been obtained in 3 areas. The first of these is the muscle development of sole, of which it has been shown that the myogenin locus (myog), involved in the differentiation of myoblasts, is regulated by the methylation levels of its proximal promoter, which increase with temperature. With regard to sex determination, the results suggest that in senegalese sole gonadal differentiation depends on the culture temperature during the early stages of larval development, which induces methylation in the gonadal aromatase gene (cyp19a1a) and skews the sexual ratio towards males. Finally, it has been shown that early stimulation to stress, by way of training, alters the methylation of the major histocompatibility complex Ia (mhc1a), increasing its expression and improving the animal's immunocompetence. As can be seen, the lack of epigenetic studies on the main problems of the cultivation of this species stands out, which have been approached from other points of view that have partially solved them. The future of aquaculture production of senegalese sole depends on the reorientation of research towards the molecular bases of phenotypic plasticity, in which epigenetics occupies the place par excellence., La epigenética es el estudio de los cambios en la expresión génica que no pueden ser explicados por modificaciones directas en la secuencia del ADN y cuya base molecular es la metilación de citosinas y la modificación de la histonas. La regulación epigenética es un potente descubrimiento que permite dar una explicación racional al fenómeno de la plasticidad fenotípica, es decir, al hecho de que ciertos estímulos ambientales puedan alterar el fenotipo de un animal, generando una respuesta adaptativa, sin que su genoma se vea modificado. El lenguado senegalés (Solea senegalensis) es una especie que se ha establecido con fuerza en la diversificación del mercado de productos piscícolas, gracias su buena adaptación en general al cautiverio y su relativamente sencillo manejo zootecnico. Sin embargo, existen puntos débiles que retrasan notablemente el crecimiento de su productividad, como son la incapacidad reproductiva de los individuos nacidos en cautiverio o la alta incidencia de patologías infecciosas de alta mortalidad. En la presente revisión bibliográfica, se propone que una mayor comprensión de la regulación epigenética del lenguado senegalés puede ayudar a la resolución de estas problemáticas. Por lo tanto, el objetivo principal del trabajo es el de recopilar e integrar la información disponible en este campo y aplicarla al cultivo de la especie. En síntesis, los principales avances se han obtenido en 3 áreas. La primera de ellas es el desarrollo muscular del lenguado, del cual se ha comprobado que el locus miogenina (myog), implicado en la diferenciación de los mioblastos, está regulado por los niveles de metilación de su promotor proximal, que aumentan con la temperatura. Con respecto a la determinación del sexo, los resultados apuntan a que en el lenguado senegalés la diferenciación gonadal depende de la temperatura de cultivo durante las primeras etapas del desarrollo larvario, la cual induce metilación en el gen aromatasa gonadal (cyp19a1a) y sesga el ratio sexual hacia los machos. Por último, se ha evidenciado que la estimulación temprana al estrés, a modo de entrenamiento, altera la metilación del complejo mayor de histocompatibilidad Ia (mhc1a), aumentando la expresión del mismo y mejorando la inmunocompetencia del animal. Como se aprecia, destaca la carencia de ensayos epigenéticos sobre las problemáticas troncales al cultivo de esta especie, que han sido abordadas desde otros puntos de vista que las han solucionado parcialmente. El futuro de la producción acuícola del lenguado senegalés pasa por la reorientación de las investigaciones hacia las bases moleculares de la plasticidad fenotípica, en las cuales la epigenética ocupa el lugar por excelencia.

A study of the charge conjugation and parity (CP) properties of the interaction between the Higgs boson and top quarks is presented. Higgs bosons are identified via the diphoton decay channel (H→γγ), and their production in association with a top quark pair (tt¯H) or single top quark (tH) is studied. The analysis uses 139 fb-1 of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Assuming a CP-even coupling, the tt¯H process is observed with a significance of 5.2 standard deviations. The measured cross section times H→γγ branching ratio is 1.64-0.36+0.38(stat)-0.14+0.17(sys) fb, and the measured rate for tt¯H is 1.43-0.31+0.33(stat)-0.15+0.21(sys) times the Standard Model expectation. The tH production process is not observed and an upper limit on its rate of 12 times the Standard Model expectation is set. A CP-mixing angle greater (less) than 43 (-43)° is excluded at 95% confidence level.

A search for long-lived particles decaying into hadrons and at least one muon is presented. The analysis selects events that pass a muon or missing-transverse-momentum trigger and contain a displaced muon track and a displaced vertex. The analyzed dataset of proton-proton collisions at s=13 TeV was collected with the ATLAS detector and corresponds to 136 fb-1. The search employs dedicated reconstruction techniques that significantly increase the sensitivity to long-lived particle decays that occur in the ATLAS inner detector. Background estimates for Standard Model processes and instrumental effects are extracted from data. The observed event yields are compatible with those expected from background processes. The results are presented as limits at 95% confidence level on model-independent cross sections for processes beyond the Standard Model, and interpreted as exclusion limits in scenarios with pair production of long-lived top squarks that decay via a small R-parity-violating coupling into a quark and a muon. Top squarks with masses up to 1.7 TeV are excluded for a lifetime of 0.1 ns, and masses below 1.3 TeV are excluded for lifetimes between 0.01 ns and 30 ns.

A search for heavy neutral Higgs bosons produced in association with one or two b-quarks and decaying to b-quark pairs is presented using 27.8 fb-1 of s=13 TeV proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider during 2015 and 2016. No evidence of a signal is found. Upper limits on the heavy neutral Higgs boson production cross section times its branching ratio to bb¯ are set, ranging from 4.0 to 0.6 pb at 95% confidence level over a Higgs boson mass range of 450 to 1400 GeV. Results are interpreted within the two-Higgs-doublet model and the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model.

A search for heavy neutral Higgs bosons is performed using the LHC Run 2 data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb-1 of proton-proton collisions at s=13 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector. The search for heavy resonances is performed over the mass range 0.2-2.5 TeV for the τ+τ-decay with at least one τ-lepton decaying into final states with hadrons. The data are in good agreement with the background prediction of the standard model. In the Mh125 scenario of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, values of tanβ>8 and tanβ>21 are excluded at the 95% confidence level for neutral Higgs boson masses of 1.0 and 1.5 TeV, respectively, where tanβ is the ratio of the vacuum expectation values of the two Higgs doublets.

The contributions of researchers at a global level in the journal Electronics in the period 2012–2020 are analyzed. The objective of this work is to establish a global vision of the issues published in the Electronic magazine and their importance, advances and developments that have been particularly relevant for subsequent research. The magazine has 15 thematic sections and a general one, with the programming of 385 special issues for 2020–2021. Using the Scopus database and bibliometric techniques, 2310 documents are obtained and distributed in 14 thematic communities. The communities that contribute to the greatest number of works are Power Electronics (20.13%), Embedded Computer Systems (13.59%) and Internet of Things and Machine Learning Systems (8.11%). A study of the publications by authors, affiliations, countries as well as the H index was undertaken. The 7561 authors analyzed are distributed in 87 countries, with China being the country of the majority (2407 authors), followed by South Korea (763 authors). The H-index of most authors (75.89%) ranges from 0 to 9, where the authors with the highest H-Index are from the United States, Denmark, Italy and India. The main publication format is the article (92.16%) and the review (5.84%). The magazine publishes topics in continuous development that will be further investigated and published in the near future in fields as varied as the transport sector, energy systems, the development of new broadband semiconductors, new modulation and control techniques, and more.

This paper describes the characteristics of contributions made by researchers worldwide in the field of ELF (extremely low frequency) waves from 1957 to 2019. The data were collected through the Scopus database and processed with analytical and bibliometric techniques. The selection of the keywords is an essential step, because ELF has a very different meaning in some areas of medicine, where it is associated with a gene. A total of 12,436 documents were worked on in 12 thematic communities according to their collaborative relationships between authors and documents. Studies included authors publishing in the different thematic areas and the country where the USA stands first with more researchers in this theme than China and Japan. Documents were analyzed from the temporal perspective, their overall contribution, means of publication, and the language of the publication. Research requires extra effort and multidisciplinary collaboration to improve the knowledge, the application, and influence of these fields
