Ruxolitinib (C17H18N6) is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor that inhibits JAK1, JAK2, and JAK3 and with its tyrosine kinase inhibitor function It is the first drug approved for use in the treatment of myelofibrosis. The possible conformations of the ruxolitinib molecule were searched using PM3 technique and the Spartan06 software. The estimated molecular energies of the Ruxolitinib conformers, obtained by the variations in dihedral angles, were compared, and the most stable conformer was determined. To enlighten the inhibitory activity of Ruxolitinib agaist the apo (PDB ID: 6M03) and holo (PDB ID: 6LU7) forms of the main protease enzyme (Mpro) of COVID-19 and the SARSCoV-2 spike glycoprotein (PDB ID: 6VXX), molecular docking simulations were performed. The binding affinities and binding modes were determined. The binding free energies of ruxolitinib and 6M03, 6LU7, 6VXX targets calculated by the combination of Molecular Mechanics/Generalized Born Surface Area (MMGBSA) and Molecular Mechanics/Poisson-Boltzmann Surface Area (MM-PBSA) methods {MM/PB(GB)SA approach}, were found to be -22.24, -19.96 and -22.44 kcal/mol, respectively.

Background: The laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) procedure is the most common bariatric surgical technique worldwide, but controversy continues over staple line reinforcement (SLR) techniques. This prospective randomized study aimed to compare the effects of SLR methods on early postoperative complications and gastrointestinal symptoms in patients undergoing LSG for morbid obesity.

Etodolac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is categorized as a BCS class-II drug due to its low aqueous solubility and high permeability. Frequent dosing, extensive liver metabolism, and low dissolution rates are major limitations of etodolac. The present study focuses on the designing of novel suppository base blends for providing an effective delivery of etodolac. The oils (Caprylic/capric triglyceride, isopropyl isostearate, and isopropyl palmitate) were added to Witepsol® H15 to form suppository base blends. White, odorless, and torpedo-shaped suppositories were developed by using two parts of Witepsol® H15 and one part of the oil. All of the suppositories prepared with different blends were found uniform in weight and content. The mechanical strength of all suppositories was in an acceptable range for suppositories (2.0 – 3.8 kg/cm2). The suppositories showed a disintegration time between 13 and 19 minutes. First-order release kinetics were observed after the in vitro release studies. The suppository base blends released 85%- 90% of etodolac in the first hour while 60% of etodolac was released from Witepsol® H15 base alone. Prolonged drug release was achieved after 2 hours all of the formulations reached the plateau levels. The oil blends exhibited higher release percentages (96% - 99%) than plain Witepsol® H15 base (89%). Elma (Malus domestica), gülgiller (Rosaceae) familyasından kültürü yapılan bir tür olup taze olarak tüketiminin yanında kurutulup meyve ve cips olarakta tüketimi son yıllarda daha fazla popüler hale gelmiştir. Ancak yapılan kurutma işlemlerinde enerji ve kalite özellikleri dikkate alınarak uygun kurutma şartlarının belirlenmesi önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, bazı kurutma ön işlemleri (sitrik asit, potasyum karbonat, vakum impregnasyon) Golden delicious L. çeşidi elma dilimlerine uygulayarak kurutma işleminin enerji tüketimini azaltmak ve örneklerin fiziko-kimyasal özelliklerinin korunması amaçlanmıştır. Elma dilimleri sabit 70 ºC sıcaklıkta 3.98±0.06’dan 0.06±0.019 g nem g kuru madde-1 değerine kadar kurutulmuştur. Çalışmada, en kısa kuruma süresi 5.5. saat olarak tespit edilirken en uzun kuruma süresi ise 9.5 saat olarak belirlenmiştir. En iyi tahmin eden matematiksel model Wang Sing olarak belirlenmiştir. Yirminci yüzyılın ortalarından itibaren Anadolu çömlekçilik üretimi kap kacak kullanımına yönelik plastik ve benzeri seri üretim malzemelerin yaygınlaşması sebebiyle büyük bir gerilemeye girmiştir. Bu gerileme sonucunda Avanos gibi geleneksel formları terk edip modern yeni formlar ve süslemeler üreten gelişim gösteren merkezler üretimi günümüze dek arttırırken Ünye gibi geleneksel üretime bağlı kalan merkezler icra ettikleri çömlekçilik mesleğinin kaçınılmaz son olan yok olma yoluna girmesiyle karşı karşıya kalmışlardır. Yok olmaya yüz tutan geleneksel Ünye çömlekçiliğinde kullanılan ve yalnızca Ünye’de bulunan açık sarı renkli bu toprak diğer bölgeler ile kıyaslandığında karşımıza çıkan ilk farklılıktır. Bununla birlikte fırınlama aşamasında da yine farklı bölgelerdeki benzer çömlekçilik faaliyetleri incelendiğinde diğerlerinden ayrışan sıra dışı fırınlama yöntemi de yalnızca Ünye Çömlekçiliğine özgüdür. Bu çalışmada görüşmeler yaptığımız ve atölyesini incelediğimiz Ünyeli Çömlek ustası Salih Karayiğit de yok olmaya yüz tutmuş bu faaliyetin son ustalarından biri olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Geleneksel Ünye çömlekçiliğinin Anadolu’daki çömlek faaliyetlerden farkları, benzerlikleri Salih Karayiğit’in kendisinden ve bölgede bu işi yapan eski ustalardan aldığımız bilgiler ışığında değerlendirerek sorunları incelenmiştir.

Güvenlik, günümüz iletişim teknolojilerinin olmazsa olmazlarındandır. İletişim halindeki taraflar arasında akan ağ trafiğinin gizliliğinden ve bütünlüğünden emin olabilmek son derece önemlidir. Bunları sağlamak için geliştirilmiş algoritmalar ve protokoller güvenliğin sağlanmasının yanı sıra sanal özel ağlar gibi ağ erişilebilirliğinin kontrol edilebildiği özel ağların oluşturulmasında da kullanılabilir. Anahtar değişiminden şifrelemeye/deşifrelemeye, ordan dijital imzalamaya kadar birçok uygulama alanına sahip bu algoritmalar ve protokollerin öğretimi için her ne kadar fiziksel ağ ortamı oluşturup kullanmak öğretimin kalitesini artıracak olsa da böyle bir ortamın kurulması ve devamlılığının sağlanabilmesi her açıdan maliyetlidir. Bu yüzden bu tür eğitimler sırasında genellikle ağ simülatörleri kullanılır. Geliştirilen kriptografik algoritmalar ve protokoller simülatör ortamına entegre edilerek nasıl çalıştıkları uygulamalı olarak gösterilir ve ağ protokollerinin çalışma performansına etkisi bu çalışmalar sırasında gözlemlenebilir. Bu çalışmada biz ücretsiz, açık kaynak ve kaliteli destek ekibine sahip olması nedeniyle akademik çalışmalarda sıklıkla kullanılan ns-3 ağ simülatörünü ve uluslararası standartların belirlemiş olduğu kriptografik algoritma ve protokolleri içeren OpenSSL kütüphanesini kullandık. Çalışmamızın amacı OpenSSL kütüphanesini ns-3 ağ simülatörüne entegre etmektir. Özellikle ifade etmek gerekirse, biz bu çalışmada OpenSSL kütüphanesinin ve ns-3 ağ simülatörünün kurulumunun nasıl yapılması gerektiğini ve OpenSSL kütüphanesini ns-3 ağ simülatörüne entegre edebilmek için ns-3 simülatörünün yapılandırma dosyalarında ne tür düzenlemeler yapılması gerektiğini gösterdik. Son olarak, 256 bitlik anahtar kullanan ve Galois/Counter modunda çalışan AES algoritmasının ns-3 ağ simülatöründe var olan bir örnek simülasyon programına nasıl eklenmesi gerektiğini açıkladık. Çalışmamızın ağ/bilgisayar/IoT vb. güvenliği dersleri veren akademisyenler için uygulamalı gösterim konusunda faydalı olacağı kanaatindeyiz.

İkinci Dünya Savaşı tüm dünyada büyük tahribatlar ve yıkımlar oluştururken, dönemin sanat anlayışını da etkilemiştir. Bu etkileri tüm boyutlarıyla eserlerine yansıtan birçok sanatçı farklı duyarlılık biçimleri geliştirerek sanatlarını oluşturmuşlardır. Bu sanatçılar arasında ön plana çıkan Anselm Kiefer günümüz sanat dünyasının yaşayan en önemli sanatçılarından biri olarak anılır. Eserleri yakın dönem Alman tarihini, Nazi Döneminin yıkım ve şiddetini konu alır. Bu konular etrafında ele aldığı eserleri aynı zamanda farklı dünya kültürlerine ait mitler, söylenceler ve hikayeleri de içerir. Kiefer’in eserlerinde kullandığı sıra dışı yöntemler ve materyal kullanımı onu kendi çağdaşlarından ayıran en önemli özelliktir. Eritilmiş kurşun ve samanın yanı sıra birçok doğal ve kimyasal elementlerden faydalanan sanatçı, tüm bu materyalleri devasa ölçekte resimlerine entegre ederek farklı bir anlatım dili geliştirmiştir. Anselm Kiefer’in eserlerinde kullandığı malzemelerin sembolik bağıntılarını ve kullanım yöntemlerini ele alan bu makale, temel olarak sanatçının tuval resimlerindeki saman ve kurşun kullanımlarına odaklanmıştır. Bu kapsamda sanatçının saman ve kurşun kullanarak oluşturduğu eserleri tüm yönleriyle araştırılmış, söz konusu malzemelerin Kiefer’in sanatsal pratiklerindeki yeri ve önemini belirlemeye çalışmıştır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde Kiefer’in sanatçı kişiliği, sanatsal yaklaşımları ve eserlerindeki tematik yaklaşımlar incelenmiştir. Sonraki bölümde eserlerinde kullandığı materyallerin türleri, bu materyallerin sanatçı açısından önemi ve bu materyallerin icra biçimleri ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın son bölümünde ise sanatçının saman ve kurşun kullanımına dönük pratikleri incelenmiş, bu malzemelerin sembolik, tarihsel ve metaforik anlamları, eserlerindeki kullanım biçimleri, konuyla ilişkileri eserlerle olan bağıntıları örnek eserler eşliğinde çözümlenmeye çalışılmıştır.

DC series arc fault (DCSAF) in photovoltaic (PV) systems is a controversial issue owing to the challenges related to its modeling and protection. By utilizing the actual recorded data, for the first time, polynomial models are used to model the DCSAFs in PV panels. In the models, the non-linear, dynamic, and time-variant behavior of the DCSAFs are taken into account. In addition to the non-linear terms, the polynomial models also include derivative terms to show the dynamic nature of the arc. To determine the suitable model orders, various models are studied and the model with the minimum value of error index is selected as the best model. Unlike the well-known traditional models, the coefficients of the polynomial models are time-variant, which is assessed using the Auto-Regressive Moving Average (ARMA) process. By the actual recorded data, the performance of the polynomial models is evaluated.The criteria for comparing and selecting the polynomial models rather than other traditional models are the error indices. Analyses show that the polynomial models are more efficient to model DCSAF in comparison with the famous traditional models.

When grout is used to penetrate voids and cracks in soils and rock layers, easy and effective pumping of the grouts is vital, especially for grouting works during geotechnical improvements. For this reason, improving the rheological parameters of cement-based grouts and increasing their fluidity are important for effective grouting injection. In this study, an experimental investigation and analysis using artificial neural network (ANN) models were used to discover how nano silica (n-SiO2) together with fly ash affects the rheological behaviour of cement-based grouts. The effects of nano silica (n-SiO2) additions at different contents by mass (0.0%, 0.3%, 0.6%, 0.9%, 1.2% and 1.5%) on the plastic viscosity and yield stress values of cement-based grouts incorporating fly ash as a mineral additive at different amounts (0% – as a control, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30%) were investigated. Using the experimental data obtained, a feed-forward (FF) back-propagation (BP) multi-layer perceptron (MLP) artificial neural network (ANN) was developed to predict the plastic viscosity and yield stress of cement-based grouts with nano silica nanoparticle additives. The ANN model developed can predict the plastic viscosity and yield stress values of cement-based grouts containing nano silica nanoparticle-doped fly ash with high accuracy.

Millets are indigenous to many parts of the world and are more widely grown, especially in areas where water is limited. The most widely grown millet type is sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.). A field study was carried out to determine the effect of deficit irrigation regimes on grain yield and seasonal evapotranspiration of proso millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) in the Thrace Region of Turkey. The field trials were conducted on a loam Entisol soil, on Öğretmenoğlu and Beydarı, the most popular varieties in the research area. In the study, the split plots experimental design with three replications was used. Eight different irrigation issues are considered, including combinations of the vegetative (V), flowering (F) and grain formation (Y) phases of the plant (including dry conditions, NoI). Results showed that proso millet was significantly affected by water stress during the sensitive flowering stage. The highest grain yield was obtained with 4.09 t ha-1 from Öğretmenoğlu and 4.03 t ha-1 from Beydarı, which was rinsed (VFY) in all development periods. Seasonal irrigation water use and evapotranspiration of the irrigated (VFY) in all development periods were 318 and 579 mm, respectively, for the non-stressed treatment. The seasonal water yield function was calculated as Y = 0.4087 ET + 144.03, and the seasonal yield-water response factor value was calculated as 0.57'.

Introduction: Anal malignant melanomas are relatively rare tumors. Because of their polypoid structure, they can be confused with benign anorectal diseases. Wide excision and lymph node dissection is recommended especially in melanomas including lymph node metastasis because it reduces local recurrence. Case report: We performed abdominoperineal resection + bilateral inguinal + bilateral iliac + paraaortic lymph node dissection in our 77-year-old female patient with the diagnosis of anal malignant melanoma as a result of colonoscopic biopsy performed on the polypoid mass in the anal canal. Since 2 lymph nodes located outside the pararectal fascia persisted in postoperative MRI, we performed lymph node excision with a posterior approach. And the pathology result of the excision performed in this second session was found to be compatible with metastasis. Conclusion: Lymph node dissections are beneficial in terms of local recurrence and survival, especially in patients with anal malignant melanoma with lymph node metastases.

Follicular lesion of undetermined significance (FLUS) is defined in the same Group III with the atypia of undetermined significance according to Bethesda Classification but these subgroups have different malignancy rates and tumor characteristics according to the studies. In this study, the aim was to evaluate the preoperative clinicopathologic features of the patients with cytological Bethesda Category III/FLUS thyroid nodules. Objectives The aim of this study was to investigate the bone area in the posterior region, which is important for mandibular molar distalization in skeletal Class I and Class III individuals with normodivergent and hyperdivergent vertical growth patterns. Materials and Methods In this study, cone-beam computed tomography scans of 120 individuals divided into 4 groups as Class I normodivergent (Group-I), Class I hyperdivergent (Group-II), Class III normodivergent (Group-III) and Class III hyperdivergent (Group-IV). Retromolar space at crown level measurements were performed on CBCT-derived panoramic radiographs and axial sections. Retromolar space at the root level was measured 2mm, 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm apical to cemento-enamel junction at CBCT axial sections. Results Retromolar space decreased towards the root apex in all groups and smallest retromolar space was level of CEJ10mm in all groups. At any root level, the distal root of the mandibular second molar tooth was in contact with the mandibular inner or outer lingual cortex; 50% in Group-I, 46.7% in Group-II, 7% in Group-III and 7% in Group-IV. Conclusions In normodivergent individuals, the retromolar area length at the root level is observed to be higher in Class III than in Class I at almost every level. In hyperdivergent individuals, on the other hand, only at CEJ10 level, it is higher in length in Class III than in Class I. Vertical growth pattern has no effect on the root and crown level retromolar space in Class I and Class III individuals. Clinical Relevance CBCT provides more useful information than panoramic radiographs for patients who are scheduled for large mandibular molar distalization

The aim of this study is to determine the cut-off value for the histopathological evaluation of premalignant-malignant endometrial pathologies from benign pathologies in postmenopausal asymptomatic patients with increased endometrial thickness. This cross-sectional study included a population that included asymptomatic 481 postmenopausal women with an endometrial thickness of more than 5mm in TVU who underwent diagnostic/ operative hysteroscopy and full curettage between January 2015 and January 2018. Demographic characteristics TVU, hysteroscopy findings of patients were recorded. As a result, in the histopathological outcome, 154(3%) women were evaluated as having normal endometrium, 189(39.3%) women as having endometrial polyps, 93(19.3%) women as having endometrial atrophy, and 23(4.6%) women as having endometrial simple hyperplasia, 5(1%) women as having endometrial simple hyperplasia, 17(3.5%) women as having endometrial atrophy and only one (0.1%) woman as having fibroids. In the 187 postmenopausal women with normal diagnostic hysteroscopic evaluation, histopathological findings were: 13(7%) endometrial hyperplasia, 2(1.1%) atypical endometrial hyperplasia, 27(14.4%) endometrial polyps, 4 2.1%) endometrial atrophy, and 2(1.1%) endometrial carcinoma. The endometrial thickness was analyzed with the ROC curve for cutoff value differentiating atypical endometrial hypreplasia/endometrial carcinoma from benign lesions and 10.5 mm was found with 90% sensitivity and 63% specificity. In conclusion, hysteroscopy is highly effective for identifying the endometrium and focal intracavitary pathologies such as polyps, myomas and foreign bodies in women with abnormal uterine bleeding. However, for the diagnosis of endometrial hyperplasia and cancer, hysteroscopic-guided biopsy with uterine curettage seems to be the best method.

Background: Face masks reduce disease transmission by protecting the wearer from inhaled pathogens and reducing the emission of infectious aerosols. Although methods quantifying efficiency for wearer protection are established, current methods for assessing face mask containment efficiency rely on measurement of a low concentration of aerosols emitted from an infected or noninfected individual. Methods: A small port enabled the introduction of 0.05 µm sodium chloride particles at a constant rate behind the mask worn by a study participant. A condensation particle counter monitored ambient particle numbers 60 cm in front of the participant over 3-minute periods of rest, speaking, and coughing. The containment efficiency (%) for each mask and procedure was calculated as follows: 100 × (1 − average ambient concentration with face covering worn/average ambient concentration with a sham face covering in place). The protection efficiency (%) was also measured using previously published methods. The probability of transmission (%) from infected to uninfected (a function of both the containment efficiency and the protection efficiency) was calculated as follows: {1 − (containment efficiency/100)}×{1 − (protection efficiency/100)}×100. Results: The average containment efficiencies for each mask over all procedures and repeated measures were 94.6%, 60.9%, 38.8%, and 43.2%, respectively, for the N95 mask, the KN95 mask, the procedure face mask, and the gaiter. The corresponding protection efficiencies for each mask were 99.0%, 63.7%, 45.3%, and 24.2%, respectively. For example, the transmission probability for 1 infected and 1 uninfected individual in close proximity was ∼14.2% for KN95 masks, compared to 36%–39% when only 1 individual wore a KN95 mask. Conclusion: Overall, we detected a good correlation between the protection and containment that a face covering afforded to a wearer.

The recent launch of low Earth orbit satellite constellations is creating a growing threat for astronomical observations with ground-based telescopes1–10 that has alarmed the astronomical community 11–16. Observations affected by artificial satellites can become unusable for scientific research, wasting a growing fraction of the research budget on costly infrastructures and mitigation efforts. Here we report the first measurements, to our knowledge, of artificial satellite contamination on observations from a low Earth orbit made with the Hubble Space Telescope. With the help of volunteers on a citizen science project (www.asteroidhunter.org) and a deep learning algorithm, we scanned the archive of Hubble Space Telescope images taken between 2002 and 2021. We find that a fraction of 2.7% of the individual exposures with a typical exposure time of 11 minutes are crossed by satellites and that the fraction of satellite trails in the images increases with time. This fraction depends on the size of the field of view, exposure time, filter used and pointing. With the growing number of artificial satellites currently planned, the fraction of Hubble Space Telescope images crossed by satellites will increase in the next decade and will need further close study and monitoring.

Large-scale adoption of battery electric trucks (BETs) might be a practical solution for reducing the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission in road freight transport sector if certain requirements are met. The minimum requirements are: 1) to overcome the operational range restrictions of BETs, and 2) to access an electricity power network with a certain level of emission intensity for the battery charging and battery production. In this study, we use a parametric GHG emission life cycle analysis (LCA) combined with a BET operational range coverage analysis to develop a methodology to provide a realistic estimation of BET’s large-scale adoption and its GHG emission reduction potential for different electrification scenarios for battery and charging technology improvements in trucks with gross vehicle weight (GVW) over 3.5 tons in Finland and Switzerland. Life cycle (LC) GHG emission reduction potential in Finland is estimated to be very low (around 30% with the help of electric road system (ERS) in some routes and around 12% without ERS) in the short-term electrification scenarios; however, the mid-term and long-term scenarios are promising for LC GHG emission reduction potentials (up to 60%) even with the current level of electricity emission factors in Finland. In Switzerland, LC GHG emission reduction potential is estimated to be quite high (74% in Switzerland vs. 12%-30% in Finland) compared to Finland in the short-term electrification scenarios; however, the midterm and long-term scenarios show high LC GHG emission reduction potentials for Switzerland (around 93%), while Finland needs the help of full-decarbonization of electricity generation for battery charging and battery production in BETs, and use of renewable fuels in other trucks, to achieve high emission reduction.

Fitted filtration performance of an N95 respirator may benefit from differing levels of instructions.Using a modified Occupational Safety and Health Administration fit test protocol, we measured fitted filtration efficiency for an N95 respirator in 21 screened, healthy participants given 4 levels of escalating instruction: (1) uninstructed (baseline), (2) written/pictorial manufacturer instructions, (3) step-by-step video demonstration, and (4) staff instruction (visual inspection of respirator fit and verbal suggestions to adjust when applicable).Baseline fitted filtration efficiency was not significantly different between participants with or without previous experience of N95 use. Clear improvements in fitted filtration efficiency were observed progressing from baseline (average=86.1%) to manufacturer paper instructions (93.3%), video instructions (97.5%), and post staff intervention (98.3%). Baseline fitted filtration efficiency values were significantly lower than those after video instruction (p0.037) and staff intervention (p0.033) sessions.Beyond uninstructed wear or provision of manufacturer instructions, efforts to train and instruct users in proper respirator fit principles with visual feedback are likely to yield benefits to public health outcomes in reducing respiratory exposure during air quality emergencies such as airborne viral outbreaks and wildland fires.

In this study, it was aimed to make a breakfast spreadable Cornelian cherry nectar similar to marmalade. Lactiplantibacillus plantarum DA100 strain, which has potential probiotic properties, was added to this nectar. It was investigated whether this strain has an effect on various sensory properties of nectar. In the study, sensory and various chemical properties of nectar produced without probiotic microorganism were determined. Since the breakfast spreadable Cornelian cherry nectar produced in our study was not exposed to high temperatures for a long time, a very low HMF of 4.290 mg/kg was determined. Vitamin C was determined as 716.800 mg/L and total phenolic content was determined as 3156.64 mg GAE/100g. In the probiotic group, the microorganism viability, which was 1.5×1010 Log CFU/mL initially, was determined below approximately 1.5×106 Log CFU/mL at the end of 5 days. In addition, coliform bacteria and E. coli were not detected in any group during this period. Contrary to the texture score, the difference between the sensory evaluation results of the probiotic-added and the control group of breakfast spreadable Cornelian cherry nectar was significant in taste, bitterness, odor and sourness. An alternative to jams and marmalades, rich in vitamin C and phenolic content, limited HMF production, and a functional product with low sugar content were tried to be obtained, and when the results obtained are evaluated, the product is thought to be promising.

Purpose: This study investigates the effect of technology-supported argumentation-based teaching on pre-service teachers' Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) self-assessment. Design/Methodology/Approach: A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group was used in the research. Participants of the study are 43 pre-service mathematics teachers who take the Analytic Geometry-I course. They were studying in the third grade in the faculty of education at a state university in Turkey in the fall semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. In the research process of the study, the subject of transformation geometry was taught to the experimental group using technology-supported argumentation-based teaching practice. The lessons are planned to last four weeks (12 lesson hours), three lessons per week. In the first week of the lessons, the translational transformation, reflection transformation in the second and third weeks, and rotational transformation in the fourth week were discussed. TPACK-SAS (self-assessment scale), which was used as a data collection tool in the study, was applied to both groups before the first week (pre-test) and after the last week (post-test). Findings: The research findings observed that the participants' self-evaluations about TK (technology knowledge) were relatively low. In addition, it was observed that pre-service teachers' post-test mean scores regarding the sub-dimensions of PK (pedagogical knowledge), PCK (pedagogical content knowledge), and TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge), which mainly includes pedagogy knowledge, were high. Highlights: As a result of the research, it was concluded that the technology-supported argumentation-based transformation geometry teaching practice did not affect the TPACK self-evaluation of the pre-service teachers in the experimental group. Studies similar to this with pre-service teachers can be carried out with students at different educational levels on transformation geometry or another mathematics subject.

The food culture, which gains meaning according to the life perception of countries in the traditional and modern world, brings different perspectives to gastronomy. With the Slow Food movement, which is one of these perspectives, it is essential to bring an up-to-date approach to the dishes that have been forgotten in traditional food culture. While the slow food movement ensures the sustainability of the food culture, it also supports the preservation of the 'sense of taste'; It serves to raise awareness in setting tables together and determining the importance of common points, in food production with traditional methods and in using techniques. Quantitative data collection techniques are used to determine whether the services of the stream reach the target. The cycle of the slow mobility current is first production, then consumption. The aim of this study is to determine the extent of slow food perceptions and slow eating attitudes of the people living in Gökçeada district of Çanakkale province. For this purpose, a survey method consisting of a systematic question form was applied to the local people of Gökçeada, which constitutes the sample of the study, to determine the perception of slow food and the effect of this perception on slow eating attitudes. According to the results obtained from the survey data, it was determined that the participants were women with a participation rate of 68.5% and they constituted the majority of the study. 92.4% of the participants who stated that they knew about the Slow Food movement correctly defined Slow Food. It was determined that the participants had a positive participation of more than 50% in the questions asked to determine the local food consumption tendency. Therefore, it can be said that the participants have a high level of local food demand, interest and consumption tendency. Among the 6 hypotheses examining the relationship between Slow Food consumption and demographic characteristics, the marital status and age hypothesis were accepted and the others were rejected.

Objectives: The rates of vaccination with human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, which can prevent many cancers, rank the last place when compared to other childhood vaccination rates. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the knowledge levels of mothers living in our region about HPV vaccine and their perspectives regarding having the vaccine. Methods: The study was conducted between 15 July and 15 August 2022 in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, Kafkas University with the mothers of 377 girls. The SPSS 21 program was used and p < 0.05 was accepted as significant. Results: No statistically significant differences were detected between the desire of the mother to have her child vaccinated against HPV and the age of her child (p = 0.740), income level of the household (p = 0.590) and the working status of the mother (p = 0.419). There were statistically significant differences between the desire of the mother to have her daughter vaccinated with HPV, the place where the mother lived (p = 0.001), age of the mother (p = 0.037), family type (p = 0.001), number of people living at home (p = 0.027), education year of the mother (p = 0.004), father’s approval for vaccination (p = 0.001), and mother’s hearing about the Smear Test (p = 0.001). Conclusions: Even if the HPV vaccine is given free of charge, there is resistance in mothers to the vaccine. It is necessary to inform mothers about HPV vaccination for their daughters and to make the vaccination more widespread.

Çalışmada, binaların ısıtılması ve soğutulması için kullanılan toprak hava ısı değiştirgeci bağlı olarak TS 825 in son iki versiyonu düşünülerek yaşam çevrimi analizine bağlı hem enerji tasarrufu hem de enerji maliyeti tasarrufu incelenmiştir. Ek olarak enerji kaynağı olarak elektrik kullanımına bağlı güç santrallerinden elektrik üretimi sırasında atmosfere yayılan emisyonların (kirleticilerin) miktarları incelenmiştir. Kullanılan elektrik enerjisi miktarı için ülkemizin yalıtım standardı TS 825 de tavsiye edilen dış duvar, tavan, döşeme ve pencereleri kapsayan yapı kabuğu ısı transfer katsayıları kullanılmıştır. TS 825 in 2013 versiyonu ve 2008 yılı versiyonu yapı kabuğu ısı transfer katsayıları kullanılarak enerji tasarruf miktarları tespit edilmiştir. Yapı kabuğu elemanlarına bağlı enerji tüketimi hesaplamalarında derece gün yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Isıtma ve soğutma dönemlerinde binaların enerji tüketimi hesaplarında kullanılan ısıtma derece gün ve soğutma derece günler, dış ortam kuru termometre sıcaklığına, bağıl nem ile bulunan yaş termometre sıcaklığına ve güneş radyasyonu değeri ile bulunan güneş hava sıcaklığı bağlı olarak hesaplanmıştır. Kirletici olarak, global ısınmayı etkileyen maddeler (CO2, N2O, CH4), ozon tabakasını incelten madde (CFC-11), inorganik kirletici madde (SO2), havayı kirleten partikül madde (PM) incelenmiştir. TS 825 in 2008 yerine 2013 versiyonu kullanılması ile tüm derece gün yaklaşımları için dış duvarlara ve döşemeye bağlı dört iklim bölgesinin tümü göz önüne alındığında % 4,9 kadar tasarruf sağlanmaktadır. Döşemeye bağlı % 6,0 kadar tasarruf bulunmaktadır. Pencereye bağlı enerji tüketimi ve emisyon değerlerine göre tasarruf tüm iklim bölgeleri için % 25 olarak tespit edilmiştir., In this study, energy saving and energy cost saving based on the life cycle analysis were examined considering the last two versions of TS 825, depending on the earth-air heat exchanger used for heating and cooling the buildings. In addition, the amounts of emissions (pollutants) emitted to the atmosphere as a result of the use of electricity as an energy source during electricity generation from power plants were investigated. For the amount of electrical energy used, the heat transfer coefficients of the building envelope covering the external wall, ceilings, floors, and windows, which are recommended in our country's insulation standard TS 825, were used. Energy-saving amounts were determined by using the building envelope heat transfer coefficients in the 2013 version and the 2008 version of TS 825. The degree-day method was used in the energy consumption calculations related to the building envelope elements. The heating degree days and cooling degree days used in the energy consumption calculations of the buildings during the heating and cooling periods were calculated depending on the outdoor dry bulb temperature, the wet bulb temperature found with the relative humidity, the solar radiation value and the solar air temperature found. As pollutants, substances affecting global warming (CO2, N2O, CH4), ozone depleting substance (CFC-11), inorganic pollutant (SO2), air polluting particulate matter (PM) were examined. By using the 2013 version of TS 825 instead of 2008, savings of up to 4.9 % are achieved for all degree-day approaches, considering all four climate zones connected to external walls and flooring. There is a savings of up to 6.0 % due to flooring. According to the energy consumption and emission values related to the window, the savings have been determined as 25 % for all climate zones.

Food insecurity (FI) impacts people with HIV (PWH) and those who use substances (i.e. drugs and alcohol). We evaluated the longitudinal association between FI and HIV transmission risks (unprotected sexual contacts and shared needles/syringes). Among 351 PWH who use substances in Russia, 51.6% reported FI and 37.0% past month injection drug use. The mean number of unprotected sexual contacts in the past 90days was 13.4 (SD 30.1); 9.7% reported sharing needles/syringes in the past month. We did not find a significant association between mild/moderate FI (adjusted IRR = 0.87, 95% CI 0.47, 1.61) or severe FI (aIRR = 0.84, 95% CI 0.46, 1.54; global p = 0.85) and unprotected sexual contacts. We observed a significant association between severe FI and sharing needles/syringes in the past month (adjusted OR = 3.27, 95% CI 1.45, 7.39; p = 0.004), but not between mild/moderate FI and sharing needles/syringes in the past month (aOR = 1.40,95% CI 0.58, 3.38; p = 0.45). These findings suggest that severe FI could be a potential target for interventions to lower HIV transmission.

3D printing is a well-known technology for producing 3D objects by depositing successive layers of material. Among its many applications, the fashion industry has taken advantage of this technology to revolutionize its brands. Due to the unique properties of textiles, such as comfort, flexibility, etc., attempts have been made to create textile-like structures. Structures with different geometries were designed and printed using different materials ranging from rigid to flexible. In this study, three different basic geometric structures were designed using the Blender program (a free open-source 3D modelling software). Each geometric structure was designed in two different sizes with smaller and larger basic structural elements. In this case, six different models were created. The aim of this study was to compare the textile-like surfaces of different basic geometric shapes produced with 3D printers. It also aimed to investigate the use of surfaces designed with basic geometric shapes in the textile-like material for fashion industries. In the production phase, the fused deposition modelling (FDM) process was chosen, and ABS and TPU materials were used. Various tests were performed, such as weight tests, and tensile and flexural strength tests on models with different basic geometric shapes and sizes. An examination of the test results showed that the different geometric shapes of the various basic structures and the different materials used have an overall effect on the final properties of the structures. It was concluded that the obtained results can be used as a reference and could be helpful for researchers in the use of 3D printers in the textile-like material and fashion material industries.
