Supplementary Material 2: Survival curve analysis of ICOS gene expression in different tumor types.

BackgroundColorectal cancer (CRC) risk is linked to serum and dietary retinol and carotenoids, according to clinical and epidemiological research. However, the findings are not consistent. As a result, we did this meta-analysis to determine the link between them.MethodsFrom 2000 through 2022, the PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase databases, as well as pertinent article references, were searched and filtered based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and literature quality ratings. High and low intake were used as controls, and OR (odds ratio) or RR (relative risk) and 95% confidence interval were extracted. The extracted data were plotted and analyzed using Stata12.0 software.ResultsA total of 22 relevant studies were included, including 18 studies related to diet and 4 studies related to serum. For high and low intake or concentration controls, the pooled OR was as follows: β-carotene (OR = 0.89, 95% CI: 0.78–1.03), α-carotene (OR = 0.87, 95% CI: 0.72–1.03), lycopene (OR = 0.93, 95% CI: 0.81–1.07), lutein/zeaxanthin (OR = 0.96, 95% CI: 0.87–1.07), β-cryptoxanthin (OR = 0.70, 95% CI: 0.48–1.01), total carotenoids (OR = 0.97, 95% CI: 0.81–1.15), retinol (OR = 0.99, 95% CI: 0.89–1.10), serum carotenoids (OR = 0.73, 95% CI: 0.58–0.93), serum retinol (OR = 0.62, 95% CI: 0.26–1.49). Subgroup analysis was performed according to tumor type, study type and sex.ConclusionTotal carotenoid intake and Lutein/Zeaxanthin intake were not associated with CRC risk. High β-carotene, α-carotene, lycopene, and β-cryptoxanthin all tended to reduce CRC risk. Serum carotenoid concentrations were significantly inversely associated with CRC risk.

PurposeLong noncoding RNAs (LncRNAs) play complex but important roles in the progression of various tumors. This study aimed to elucidate the functional mechanisms of the HLA complex group 11 (HCG11) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).Patients and MethodsHCG11 levels in NPC specimens were determined by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and qPCR. Proliferation, apoptosis, and metastasis of NPC cells were determined using CCK8, colony formation, annexin V-PI, and transwell assays. A murine tumor xenograft model was used to investigate the regulatory function of HCG11 in NPC in vivo, and immunohistochemical staining was used to determine the Ki-67 level in tumors. The target relationships between HCG11, microRNA miR-490-3p, and MAPK kinase kinase 9 (MAP3K9) were detected using bioinformatics, qPCR, western blotting, and luciferase reporter assays.ResultsHCG11 was highly expressed in NPC tissues and was positively associated with tumor stage, lymphatic metastasis, and poor prognosis. Functionally, HCG11 knockdown inhibited proliferation and migration and induced apoptosis of NPC cells. Mechanistically, miR-490-3p is a direct target of HCG11, oncogenic functions of HCG11 in NPC cell proliferation and migration can be partially reversed by the miR-490-3p inhibitor. HCG11 significantly increased mitogen-activated protein kinase MAPK kinase 9 (MAP3K9) levels by inhibiting miR-490-3p.ConclusionHCG11 facilitates NPC progression via MAP3K9 signaling by sponging miRNA-490-3p, which may contribute to new prognostic markers and promising therapeutic targets.

Based on the ISO/IEC 18000-6C standard protocol, this paper conducted research on the design and implementation of UHF RFID tag′s physical layer baseband circuit. According to the design requirements and indicators of the baseband specified in the standard protocol, SystemVerilog was used to model the tag sending and receiving basebands, and the theoretical derivation and design implementation of the key modules in the baseband were given. SystemVerilog, as a hardware description and verification language developed on the basis of Verilog, can greatly improve the efficiency of SoC design. Finally, Modelsim SE-64 10.4 was used to simulate the digital baseband circuit design of the tag. The results showed that the digital baseband met the requirements of ISO/IEC 18000-6C protocol. This design provides a design reference for single-chip UHF RFID tag.

Background. According to relevant clinical research, dietary and circulating antioxidants vitamin A are connected with the risk of breast, cervical, and ovarian cancer in women. However, there was inconsistency between the findings. We completed this meta-analysis at the right moment to address this contradiction of the problem. Methods. Web of Science, Embase, and PubMed databases were searched using the proposed search strategy and filtered using the inclusion and exclusion criteria as well as the NOS quality score. As of May 2022, low intake or low concentration was used as a control, and odds ratio (OR) or relative risk (RR) and ninety-five percent confidence intervals (95% CI) were extracted for high intake. Stata 12.0 was used to process the data. Results. Our meta-analysis included a total of 49 studies, 29 on breast cancer, 10 on ovarian cancer, and 10 on cervical cancer. There were 38 case-control studies included, with 25,363 cases and 42,281 controls; there were 11 cohort studies included, 1,334,176 individuals were followed up, and finally 9496 obtained cancer. The pooled OR value results were as follows: diet or supplements (OR=0.83, 95% CI 0.76-0.90, I2=56.1%) and serum or plasma (OR=0.96, 95% CI 0.86-1.09, I2=29.5%). Subgroup analyses were performed according to cancer type, diet or supplements, serum or plasma, study type, and geographic regions. Conclusions. In North American and Asian populations, high dietary consumption of vitamin A or supplements decreases the incidence of three cancers in women, with breast and ovarian cancers being more significant. However, high circulating vitamin A concentrations were not significantly connected with the risk of the three malignancies.

Background. Although combination therapies have substantially improved the clinical outcomes of cancer patients, the prognosis and early diagnosis remain unsatisfactory. As a result, it is critical to look for novel indicators linked to cancer. Despite a number of recent studies indicating that the lncRNA brain cytoplasmic RNA1(BCYRN1) may be a potential predictive biomarker in cancer patients, BCYRN1’s prognostic value is still being debated. Methods. We utilized PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library to search for studies related to BCYRN1 until October 2021. Valid data were extracted after determining the articles according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and forest plots were made using Stata software. We used hazard ratios (HRs) or odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals to evaluate the relationship between abnormal BCYRN1 expression and patient prognosis and clinicopathological characteristics. Aiming at the problem of how to store/release gait energy with high efficiency for the conventional unpowered lower extremity exoskeletons, an unpowered lower-limb exoskeleton is proposed. In the current study, the human motion model is established, and the change rule and recovery/utilization mechanism of gait energy are illustrated. The stiffness and metabolic cost of relevant muscles in lower extremity joints are obtained based on OpenSim software. The results show that stiffness of muscle is increased when muscle concentric contraction generates positive work, but it is reverse when muscle eccentric contraction generates negative work. Besides, metabolic cost of the soleus, gastrocnemius, and tibialis anterior decreased about 31.5%, 34.7%, and 40%, respectively. Metabolic cost of the rectus femoris, tensor fascia lata, and sartorius decreased about 36.3%, 7%, and 5%, respectively, and the total metabolic cost of body decreased about 15.5%, under the exoskeleton conditions. The results of this study can provide a theoretical basis for the optimal design of unpowered lower extremity exoskeleton.

Purpose Prostate cancer (PCa) is the third most common cancer in men and the second leading cause of cancer-related death in men. DLX1 belongs to the DLX homeobox family and exhibits antitumor activity in many kinds of tumors. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play important roles in the progression of cancer. However, whether miRNAs affect the development of PCa by targeting DLX1 has not been determined. In this study, we aimed to investigate the role of miR-489-3p in the regulation of DLX1 expression and PCa progression and to provide a potential therapeutic target for PCa treatment. Methods and materials The Cancer Genome Atlas database was used to analyze the divergent expression of DLX1 in carcinomas and adjacent normal tissues. The expression level of DLX1 in malignant and normal prostate cells was also measured using RT-qPCR and Western blotting. A dual-luciferase reporter assay was performed to determine whether miR-489-3p directly targets DLX1. We transfected 22Rv1 and DU145 cells with miR-489-3p mimics to overexpress miR-489-3p and then evaluated its effect on cellular function. MTT, EdU, colony formation and cell cycle assays were used to evaluate cell growth. JC-1 and ROS assays with flow cytometry were performed to indirectly analyze apoptosis. Transwell assays were conducted to investigate metastasis. Results The expression level of DLX1 was upregulated in both PCa tissues and cell lines. MiR-489-3p directly targeted DLX1 and downregulated its expression. Overexpression of miR-489-3p significantly suppressed cell growth. MiR-489-3p induced apoptosis through mitochondrial function impairment. Overexpression of miR-489-3p also inhibited cell migration and invasion. DLX1 overexpression reversed the above effects induced by miR-489-3p. Conclusion We identified the involvement of the miR-489-3p/DLX1 pathway in PCa for the first time. In this pathway, miR-489-3p acts as a tumor suppressor by negatively regulating the expression of DLX1. MiR-489-3p may be a potential therapeutic target for PCa treatment.

Emerging evidences have shown that Dihydroartemisinin (DHA), used in malaria treatment, possess anti-cancer activity. However, the study of its potential functional roles and the anti-cancer mechanisms in bladder cancer is limited. We performed this study to elucidate the influence of DHA in the biological behavior of bladder cancer cells and tried to explore the molecular mechanism. The results of CCK-8 assay showed that DHA significantly inhibited bladder cancer cell 5637, UMUC3 and T24 proliferation and the inhibitory effect is dose- and time- dependent. Further mechanism study showed that DHA performed its function via down-regulating the expression of histone demethylase KDM3A and inducing p21 expression. Moreover, wound healing and transwell migration/invasion assays revealed that DHA inhibited the ability of migration and metastasis in bladder cancer cell line T24. Finally, flow cytometry and colony formation assays demonstrated that DHA significantly promoted apoptosis of T24 cells and suppressed tumorigenesis as expected. Taken together, our study identifies the anti-cancer capacity of DHA in bladder cancer and explores the underlying mechanism.

Introduction Ureteroscopic lithotripsy has become the first choice for the treatment of middle and lower ureteral stones, but it still has a certain rate of surgical failure. Here we aimed to determine the factors that may affect the success rate of holmium laser ureterolithotripsy (HLU) and provide the basis and guidance for its future use. Aim To evaluate the risk factors for HLU failure. Material and methods The clinical data of 385 patients undergoing holmium laser ureterolithotripsy from 2009 to 2012 were retrospectively reviewed to analyze the impact of gender, age, stone side, stone size, stone location, stone number, degree of hydronephrosis, stone impaction, previous extracorporeal shock lithotripsy (ESWL), and associated urinary tract infection (UTI) on the success or failure of surgery. Results Surgical success was achieved in 338 (87.8%) patients versus surgical failure in 47 (12.2%) patients. Univariate analysis revealed that the degree of hydronephrosis (p = 0.024), stone impaction (p = 0.003), stone location (p = 0.012), and previous ESWL (p = 0.037) were risk factors for surgical failure. Multivariate logistic regression revealed that stone impaction (odds ratio (OR) = 2.66; p = 0.018) and stone location (OR = 2.11; p = 0.013) were significantly associated with surgical failure. Since some cases of ureterostenosis developed postoperatively, we continued follow-up. The patients had the stent for a year and underwent regular follow-up checks until 5 years. No cases of ureterostenosis recurred. Conclusions Ureteroscopic lithotripsy is a safe procedure with few complications. Stone impaction and proximal location are the risk factors for its failure.

We investigated the safety and efficacy of the Numen coil compared with the Axium coil in the treatment of intracranial aneurysms.Because CATCH (Coil Application Trial in China) is a prospective randomized controlled open-label noninferiority trial conducted in 10 centers across China, patients who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria were randomized 1:1 to either a test group (Numen) or a control group (Axium). The primary outcome was based on successful aneurysm occlusion at 6 months follow-up, whereas secondary outcomes included technical success, the recanalization and retreatment rates, and the rate of serious adverse events (SAEs) at 6 months and 12 months follow-up.Between August 2017 and December 2019, 350 patients presenting with 350 aneurysms were enrolled and randomized. Per-protocol analysis showed that the successful aneurysm occlusion rate at 6 months was 91.18% for the test group compared with 91.85% in the control group, with a difference of -0.68% (P = 0.8419), and the overall mortality during the 30-day follow-up period was 1.19% and 1.81% in the test and control group, respectively, showing no significant difference between the 2 groups (P = 0.6837), whereas the SAE incidence during the 12-month follow-up period was 12.50% and 17.47% in the test and control groups, respectively, which was not statistically significant (P = 0.2222).This trial showed that the Numen coil was noninferior to the Axium coil in terms of intracranial aneurysm embolization and can be considered as a safe and effective coil for treating patients with intracranial aneurysm in clinical practice.

Naturally, some living things have non-wettable super-hydrophobic surfaces that depend on surface roughness and surface chemistry. Mimicking such super-hydrophobic surfaces has applications for pain reduction and improving the functionality of needles used in health care. This study prepared a stainless steel needle with a super-hydrophobic surface using ultrasonic etching for microstructure fabrication and surface fluorination. The as-prepared stainless steel needle was super-hydrophobic, as evidenced by a water contact angle of 151.3°. Investigations into the effect of ultrasonic etch time on wettability indicated that microstructures on the surface of the stainless steel needle were important for developing super-hydrophobicity. Resistance properties of the as-prepared stainless steel needle were also governed by surface morphology. Super-hydrophobic stainless steel needles have self-cleaning and low adhesion properties and a drag reduction effect that may reduce pain during a puncture process. Simultaneously, the bionic needle with super-hydrophobic property has more applications in biological antibacterial, and reducing retention of expensive reagents. Furthermore, this method can also be applied to micropipette tips, and inkjet or bio-printer heads, which will make breakthroughs in small droplets manipulation, biometric, and inkjet printing equipment.

Objectives: To evaluate the feasibility, efficiency, and safety of the transradial approach (TRA) for cerebral angiography versus the transfemoral approach (TFA) in patients. Methods: In this trial, 2314 patients underwent cerebral angiography, with 1085 patients undergoing the procedure via radial access and 1229 via transfemoral access. The arterial puncture time, operation success rate, oppression time on puncture points, local vascular complication incidence (including bleeding, hematoma, and pseudoaneurysm), deep venous thrombosis of lower limbs (DVT), and bradycardia/hypotension were observed and compared between the two groups. Results: Of the patients who underwent cerebral angiography via radial access, the procedure was successful in 1070 patients; compared with 1219 patients with transfemoral access, there was no significant difference (P > 0.05) in the success rate or the arterial puncture time. Radial access patients were less likely to present with oppression time on puncture points, local vascular complications, DVT, and bradycardia/hypotension compared with femoral access patients. Conclusions: For patients undergoing cerebral angiography, radial and femoral approaches are both safe and effective. Patients with urothelial carcinoma (UC) of the bladder have a high risk of death in China. However, a lack of comprehensive molecular profiling in Chinese Han population hinders the development of targeted therapies for bladder cancer. In our present study, we collected fresh bladder tumors from low-grade (T1, N0, M0, G1) non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) patients (n = 16) and high-grade (T2-4, N0, M0, Gx) muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) patients (n = 16) with their paired normal bladder tissues, and subjected the total genomic DNAs to targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) for 94 cancer-associated genes. NGS results showed that 30.9% of detected genes (29/94) was mutated in 32 urothelial carcinoma bladder tissues. Furthermore, our results and ICGC database showed that FGFR3, KMT2D, TP53, KDM6A, and ARID1A were the most frequently mutated genes in UC patients. Of note, NMIBC and MIBC displayed distinguishable genomic alterations. FGFR3, KMT2D, AKT1, ARID1A, and STAG2 were the most frequently mutated genes in NMIBC patients, whereas mutations of TP53, CREBBP, FGFR3, KDM6A, KMT2D, and ARID1A were frequently detected in MIBC. Intriguingly, gene ontology and clustering analysis revealed that these frequently mutated genes were highly enriched in signaling pathways responsible for cancer development. Taken together, the mutation frequency of genes associated with UC development in NMIBC and MIBC was screened out in Chinese Han population and elucidation of the related mechanisms provides theoretical basis and technical support for the development of early diagnosis and therapeutic strategies in UC.

Metal balls are often used as standard bodies in the target RCS measure based on precise theoretical calculations, and the accuracy of RCS measure data is directly related to the experiment measure. This paper mainly studies the calibration of metal balls at high temperatures in target RCS measure. Firstly, the high temperature field of targets is analyzed, and it is found that the changes of amplitude and phase distributions of the electromagnetic field surrounding the heated target. Then the echo of the standard metal ball at the ambient temperature is obtained through experiments, and the data is used as the calibration. Several temperature points of the target ranging from 30° to 800°C are selected for RCS measure to obtain the standard body RCS data, and get the experiment error less than 0.5 dB based on the temperature dependence of RCS data of 200 mm diameter metal ball. Therefore, RCS data are not sensitive to the temperature below 800°C, so the high temperature performance measure of the stealth targets can be calibrated at ambient temperature, which can obviously improve the efficiency at the high temperature.

BACKGROUND This study was conducted to evaluate the performance of multislice computed tomography (MSCT) to diagnose high-density thymic cysts and thymomas in lesions measuring < 3 cm. METHODS The records of 42 patients admitted to Ningbo No. 2 Hospital with an anterior mediastinal mass (diameter < 3 cm) suspected of carcinoma originating from the thymus were retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent surgery and pathological examination. Twenty-eight were diagnosed with thymic cysts and 14 with thymoma. The features of thymic cysts and thymomas revealed on MSCT were compared. RESULTS Mediastinal masses with a triangular or teardrop shape and a straight mediastina-lung border were more likely to be diagnosed as thymic cysts (P < 0.05), while those with a bulging nodule-lung border were more likely thymomas (P < 0.05). Using the CT value as a reference for differential diagnosis, the diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for CT values of non-contrast CT images, enhanced CT values, and ΔCT values were 0.65 (0.47-0.84), 0.95(0.86-1.00), and 0.96 (0.89-1.00), respectively. CONCLUSION MSCT of high-density thymus gland nodules (maximum diameter ≤ 3 cm) can reveal specific features that could be helpful for differential diagnosis.

People who suffers renal angiomyolipoma (AML) has a low quality of life. It is widely known that genetic factors including TSC2 mutation contribute to certain populations of renal AML-bearing patients. In this study, we are the first to identify novel TSC2 mutations in one Chinese renal epithelioid AML patient: c.2652C>A; c.2688G>A based on sequencing result from biopsy tissue. These two somatic mutations cause a translational stop of TSC2, which leads to mTORC1 activation. Given the fact that activation of mTORC1 ensures cell growth and survival, we applied its inhibitor, FDA-approved everolimus, to this woman. After months of treatment with everolimus, Computer-Tomography (CT) scan results showed that everolimus successfully reduced tumor growth and distal metastasis and achieved partial response (PR) to everolimu according to Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST version 1.1). Further Blood Routine Examination results showed the concentration of red cell mass, hemoglobin, white blood cell (WBC), platelets and hematocrit (HCT) significantly returned to normal levels indicating patients with these two TSC2 mutations could be effectively treated by everolimus.

Floral reversion is a process in which differentiated floral organs revert back to vegetative organs. Although this phenomenon has been described for decades, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we found that immature switchgrass (Panicum virgatum) inflorescences can revert to neonatal shoots when incubated on a basal medium with benzylaminopurine. We used anatomical and histological methods to verify that these shoots were formed from floret primordia through flower reversion. To further explore the gene regulation of floral reversion in switchgrass, the transcriptome of reversed, unreversed, and uncultured immature inflorescences were analyzed and 517 genes were identified as participating in flower reversion. Annotation using non-redundant databases revealed that these genes are involved in plant hormone biosynthesis and signal transduction, starch and sucrose metabolism, DNA replication and modification, and other processes crucial for switchgrass flower reversion. When four of the genes were overexpressed in Arabidopsis thaliana, vegetative growth was facilitated and reproductive growth was inhibited in transgenic plants. This study provides a basic understanding of genes regulating the floral transition in switchgrass and will promote the research of floral reversion and flower maintenance.

Diacylglycerol kinases (DGK) are a family of enzymes catalyzing the transformation of diacylglycerol into phosphatidic acid, which have been recognized as key regulators in cell signaling pathways. The role of DGKγ in human malignancies has seldom been studied. In this study, we investigated the role of DGKγ in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We found that DGKγ was down-regulated in HCC tumor tissues and cell lines as compared to that in non-tumor tissues. The prognostic value of DGKγ expression was evaluated by Cox regression and Kaplan-Meier analyses. Lower DGKγ expression in tumor tissues was an independent prognostic factor for poor post-surgical overall survival. By using HDACs inhibitors treatment and ChIP-PCR, we discovered that histone H3 and H4 deacetylation mainly contributed to the downregulation of DGKγ expression. Functional studies revealed that ectopic expression of DGKγ inhibited cell proliferation and cell migration in HCC cells. Mechanism studies showed that DGKγ overexpression led to down regulation of GLUT1 protein level and AMPK activity, which result in glucose uptake suppression as well as lactate and ATP production declination. The decrease of GLUT1 level could be partially rescued by treatments with either DGK inhibitor and lysosome inhibitor, indicating DGKγ may down-regulate GLUT1 through its kinase activity and lysosome degradation process. Together, this study demonstrated that DGKγ plays a tumor suppressor role in HCC by negatively regulating GLUT1. DGKγ could be a novel prognostic indicator and therapeutic target for HCC.

A good performance of motion capture, which belongs to body sensor network, depends on a reasonable design of MAC protocol. The purpose of this study is to design a reliable and highly extensible protocol for applying in motion capture. The proposed MAC protocol can easily be actualized by the timer in the chip. With this MAC protocol, the network would be built quickly. One or more nodes could be added easily in the net or deleted randomly from the net. In order to verify the superiority of this protocol, a series of experiments were designed. The results showed that the mean of simulation receive frames for node1-node7 from each stage were very close to the original frames. In addition, the final Pocket Loss Rates for node1-node7 were 0.081%, 0.175%, 0.143%, 0.249%, 0.248%, 0.044% and 1.897%, which could be in the error-allowed range. Thus, this protocol is stable and reliable, which can be widely used to capture human movement signal.

A group of novel taxoids, with modifications at C-7, C-10, C-3′ and C-14 positions of paclitaxel, was synthesized in order to improve their biological profile by decreasing their affinity with P-glycoprotein (P-gp) and increasing cellular permeability. Most of the new taxoids demonstrated the similar potent cytotoxic activities in MCF-7 human tumor cell line as paclitaxel in vitro. In the permeability assay with monolayers of Caco-2 cells, most of the compounds demonstrated an increased trans-cellular transport in A-to-B direction in comparison with paclitaxel. Among them the compounds T - 13 , T - 15 and T - 26 showed the highest permeability, and with efflux ratios better than that of ortataxel. The interaction of the compounds T - 13 and T - 26 with P-gp was evaluated using Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK)-multidrug resistance-1(MDR1) and MDCK-wild-type (WT). The results indicated that T - 13 and T - 26 were poor substrates for P-gp and possessed inhibiting effects of P-gp mediated efflux. It was thus clear that simultaneous modifications at the C-7, C-10 and C-3′ positions of paclitaxel significantly impaired its interactions with P-gp and interfered with P-gp mediated efflux.

Auf seinen langjahrigen Erfahrungen basierend unterteilt er diese Erkrankung in die beiden Formen Xue-Stasen und depletio (energetische Schwache, xu) des Xue, wobei als Agenzien sowohl ausere Affektionen als auch innere Lasionen in Frage kommen. Die Autoren gehen auf diese Agenzien und die Krankheitsmechanismen der beiden Formen genauer ein, nennen die jeweiligen Symptome sowie die notwendigen Behandlungsprinzipien und geben jeweils eine empfehlenswerte Rezeptur mit Modifikationen an. Die Vorgehensweise von Professor Zhong Yize wird mit zwei Fallbeispielen illustriert; in beiden Fallen konnten die unter zirkumskripter Sklerodermie leidenden Patienten erfolgreich mit der angegebenen Rezeptur behandelt werden.

Using the Chinese stock market data as sample, this paper investigates the impact of investor sentiment on the assets valuation. In order to classify stocks objectively, our sample stocks are sorted by double indicators (B/M and PE). In the portfolio, we find stocks with low B/M and high PE are sensitive to investor sentiment, which are considered to be costly to arbitrage. Investor sentiment has incremental power to explain stock return co-movements, which indicates that these stocks would perform higher (lower) excess returns when investors are bullish (bearish).Our findings support a role for investor sentiment in the formation of return and the change of investor sentiment should be taken as an important systemic risk in asset pricing and portfolio management.

Due to the urgent need for high precision surgical equipment for minimally invasive spinal surgery, a novel robot-assistant system was developed for the accurate placement of pedicle screws in lumbar spinal surgeries. The structure of the robot was based on a macro-micro mechanism, which includes a serial mechanism (macro part) and a bi-planar 5R parallel mechanism (micro part). The macro part was used to achieve a large workspace, while the micro part was used to obtain high stiffness and accuracy. Based on the transfer function of dimension errors, the factors affecting the accuracy of the end effectors were analyzed. Then the manufacturing errors and joint angle error on the position-stance of the end effectors were investigated. Eventually, the mechanism of the strain energy produced by the deformation of linkage via forced assembly and displacements of the output point were calculated. The amount of the transfer errors was quantitatively analyzed by the simulation. Experimental tests show that the error of the bi-planar 5R mechanism can be controlled no more than 1 mm for translation and 1° for rotation, which satisfies the required absolute position accuracy of the robot.
