AIM. To investigate the changes of the mice testes and the tight junction (Tj) relative molecular and to identify the molecular mechanisms of the mice blood-testis-barrier (BTB) permea- bility increasing after the mice were exposed to electromagnetic pulse (EMP). METHODS. Observe the changes vimentin of the mice testes by laser scanning confocal technique. RESULTS. After the 200 kVm-1 EMP (the accumulative pulse times was 200) exposure, the vimentin in sustentacular cells of testis became irregularly shortened and derangement, and the intensity of immuno- fluorescence also showed ununiformity compared with control. CONCLUSION. The increasing of mice BTB permeability perhaps caused by the changing of vimentin.

This paper considers a class of stochastic nonlinear systems with linearly bounded unmeasurable states from the viewpoint of reducing the control effort. Our main work consists of the following aspects: (1) By choosing an output-feedback controller with an improved algorithm of choosing critical value for gain parameter, we show that the critical value for gain parameter of observer is smaller than that obtained by the existing work without imposing any additional assumption. Thus, less control effort and rate of change of the controller are required. (2) The designed output-feedback controller maintains that the closed-loop system is bounded in probability, the equilibrium at the origin is globally asymptotically stable (GAS) in probability. (3) The problem of inverse optimal stabilization in probability is also solved. Simulation example demonstrates the effectiveness of the control scheme.

AIM To investigate whether wild-type p53 has effect on apoptosis and cell cycle distribution of K562 cells after EMP irradiation. METHODS K562 cells transfected with wild-type p53 were irradiated by EMP and then cultured for 18h. Apoptosis and cell cycle were detected by FCM. RESULTS Apoptosis and G1 arrest were induced by p53 transfection. No effect of EMP was detected on cell cycle and apoptosis of K562 cells with different p53 statuses. CONCLUSION Exposure to EMP has no effects on K562 cells before and after p53 gene transfection.

This paper investigates the adaptive state-feedback stabilization problem for a class of high-order stochastic nonlinear systems with unknown lower and supper bounds for time-varying control coefficients. Under some weaker and reasonable assumptions, a smooth adaptive state-feedback controller is designed, which guarantees that the closed-loop system has an almost surely unique solution, the equilibrium of interest is globally stable in probability and the states can be regulated to the origin almost surely.

A more general class of stochastic nonlinear systems with irreducible homogenous Markovian switching are considered in this paper. As preliminaries, the stability criteria and the existence theorem of strong solutions are first presented by using the inequality of mathematic expectation of a Lyapunov function. The state-feedback controller is designed by regarding Markovian switching as constant such that the closed-loop system has a unique solution, and the equilibrium is asymptotically stable in probability in the large. The output-feedback controller is designed based on a quadratic-plus-quartic-form Lyapunov function such that the closed-loop system has a unique solution with the equilibrium being asymptotically stable in probability in the large in the unbiased case and has a unique bounded-in-probability solution in the biased case.
