The article announces the 2008/2009 Freshman Undergraduate Scholarship program of the American Meteorological Society (AMS). The scholarship program is designed to encourage study in the atmospheric and related sciences. It aims to help students at a critical time in their educational lives and to attract them to fulfilling and useful career. It is open to all high school seniors entering their freshman year of study in the atmospheric, oceanic or hydrologic sciences. Its scholarships will be awarded based on academic excellence. Its scholarship stipend for the freshman year is $2,500 and $2,500 for the sophomore year.
