The aim of this paper is to contribute to the understanding of social relations present at celebrations in Minas Gerais during the gold. Especially the input of the new bishop of Mariana in the year of 1748 and the connection of this feast eminently ecclesiastical with the forms of socialization and organization of popular Catholicism festive connected to brotherhoods. Understand the games of symbolic relationships and reputation that come from that contact between different social strata, identifying the actors, their forms of relationships and how they identified similar groups before the "white," "brown" and "black" within the universe the Catholic brotherhoods and the game between State, Church and people to maintain the established order and the ability to raise capital and mergers between symbolic cracks.
