N'-Acetyl-N'-phenyl-2-naphthohydrazide, a biologically relevant organic molecule, was synthesized following a reported method and characterized based on its single X-ray crystallographic studies. The present manuscript deals with its detailed molecular interactions and X-ray crystal structure. Its space group is P-1 with the following unit cell parameters: a = 8.9164(7), b = 9.7058(9), c = 17.7384(12) Å, α = 88.308(7)°, β = 89.744(6)°, γ = 86.744(7)° and Z = 2. Crystal structure was solved by direct method and refined by full matrix least squares procedure to a final R value of 0.0580 and to a GOOF value of 1.066. The X-ray diffraction analyses showed that the asymmetric unit contains two crystallographically independent molecules. The crystal structure is stabilized by elaborate network of N-H···O and C-H···O hydrogen bonds along with C-H···π and π···π interactions to form supramolecular structures.

The co-crystal of 2-aminobenzothiazol with 4-fluorobenzoic acid were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, spectral studies (FT-IR, NMR, HRMS) and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. This compound co-crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c (no. 14), a = 11.7869(14) Å, b = 4.0326(5) Å, c = 27.625(3) Å, β = 92.731(10)°, V = 1311.6(3) Å3, Z = 4, T = 293(2) K, μ(CuKα) = 2.345 mm-1, Dcalc = 1.470 g/cm3, 3568 reflections measured (7.508° ≤ 2Θ ≤ 134.202°), 2280 unique (Rint = 0.0262, Rsigma = 0.0413) which were used in all calculations. The final R1 was 0.0446 (I > 2σ(I)) and wR2 was 0.1274 (all data). The crystal structure is stabilized by elaborate system of N–H···O and O-H···O hydrogen bonds to form supramolecular structures. Furthermore, the 3D Hirshfeld surfaces and the associated 2D fingerprint plots have been analyzed for molecular interactions.

Herein we report crystallographic comparison of some geometrical and structural features for a series of biologically relevant bis-indole derivatives. Selected bond distances and bond angles of interest in a series of bis-indole derivatives have been discussed in detail. The biological activity of the substances has been correlated with based the structure-activity relationships (SAR) base which provides the different possibility of activity (Pa) and possibility of inactivity (Pi). For a better understanding of the packing interactions existing among these derivatives, an overview of crystal structure analysis with emphasis on the intramolecular hydrogen bonding in some bis-indole derivatives is presented. The role of hydrogen bonding in the crystal structure assembly of bis-indole derivatives has been found to be predominant and this observation reveals significant impact of hydrogen bonding in high value of drug-likeness of these bio-molecules.

The title compound, 5-chlorospiro[indoline-3,7'-pyrano[3,2-c:5,6-c']dichromene]-2,6',8'-trione was synthesized via one-pot pseudo three-component reaction between one equivalent of 5-chloroisatin and two equivalents of 4-hydroxycoumarin using mandelic acid as catalyst in aqueous ethanol at 110 °C. The synthesized compound was characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, and HRMS techniques. Single crystals were grown for crystal structure determination by using single X-ray crystallography technique. It was found that the crystals are triclinic with space group P-1 and Z = 1. The crystal structure was solved by direct method and refined by full-matrix least-squares procedures to a final R-value of 0.0688 for 6738 observed reflections. The crystal structure was stabilized by elaborate system of O-H···O, N-H···O, and C-H···O interactions with the formation of supramolecular structures. 3D Hirshfeld surfaces and allied 2D fingerprint plots were analyzed for molecular interactions. Molecular docking studies have been performed to get insights into the inhibition property of this molecule for Human topoisomerase IIα.

An analog of spirooxindole[pyrano- bis -2 H -l-benzopyran] derivatives namely 5-bromospiro [indoline-3,7'-pyrano[3,2- c :5,6- c ']dichromene]-2,6',8'-trione was synthesized via one-pot pseudo three-component reaction of one equivalent of 5-bromoisatin and two equivalents of 4-hydroxycoumarin using mandelic acid as a naturally occurring organo catalyst in aqueous ethanol under reflux conditions. The synthesized compound was characterized by FT-IR, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, and HRMS data. Crystal structure was determined by using single X-ray crystallography technique. It was found that the crystals are triclinic with space group P -1, C 108 H 60 Br 4 N 4 O 29 S 2 : a = 11.8333(6) A, b = 12.8151(6) A, c = 17.1798(8) A, α = 77.317(4)°, β = 74.147(4)°, γ = 66.493(5)°, V = 2280.0(2) A 3 , Z = 1, T = 149.99(10) K, μ(MoKα) = 1.902 mm -1 , Dcalc = 1.647 g/cm 3 , 11545 reflections measured (3.836° ≤ 2Θ ≤ 50.998°), 8310 unique ( R int = 0.0488, R sigma = 0.0875) which were used in all calculations. The final R 1 was 0.0622 (I > 2σ(I)) and wR 2 was 0.1994 (all data). The crystal structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least-squares procedure to a final R -value of 0.0622 for 6264 observed reflections. The crystal structure was stabilized by an elaborate system of N-H···O, O-H···O, C-H···π, and π···π interactions involving solvent molecules to form supramolecular structure.
