One chiral Cu(I) metal–organic framework {[Cu(DCI)]·0.1Cyc·0.45Nbenz}n (1) (HDCI = 4,5-dicyanoimidazole, Cyc = cyclohexanol, Nbenz = nitrobenzene), was obtained under solvothermal condition. Complex 1 presents a 3D chiral porous framework with 38.2% porosity. The 3D metal–organic framework can be regarded as a PtS net with the vertex symbol of {42.84}. The gas adsorption/desorption experiments of complex 1 have been measured at 77 K. Moreover, the CD spectrum and photoluminescent behavior of complex 1 have been studied.

Two new homometallic coordination polymers 1 and 2 have been prepared by the directly one-step hydrothermal reactions of a carboxylate-functionalized salen ligand with Zn(II) and Co(II) ions, respectively. 1 exhibits a 3D open framework built by [Zn4(μ4-O)(carboxylate)8] units and double Zn-salen ligands, while 2 shows a 1D chain structure constructed by cobalt ions and the ligand derived from the hydrolysis to one C N bond of salen ligand. The preliminary fluorescence measurements of 1–2 show the influence of structure on the property.

A new pseudo Keggin-type polyvanadate ( NH 4 ) 4 [ H 12 V 12 V O 36 ( V IV O 4 ) ] · 11 H 2 O (1) has been synthesized under hydrothermal condition. The polyoxoanion [H12V13O40]4− of 1 exhibits a classical α-Keggin-type structure, which consists of 12 {VO6} octahedra and a central {VO4} tetrahedron. It is the first pseudo Keggin-type polyvanadate species with mixed VIV/VV metal centers structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction hitherto.

A new organic–inorganic hybrid compound {[Co(H2O)2][Co2(phen)2(btc)2]}n 1 has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectrum, TG analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P 1 , a=7.7709(16) A, b=10.572(2) A, c=12.178(2) A, α=88.49(3)°, β=77.97(3)°, γ=69.84(3)°, V=917.5(3) A3, Z=1, R1=0.0571. The compound 1 exhibits a novel two-dimensional network with unusual (4,6)-lattice-type network constructed by [Co2(phen)2(btc)2]2− dimers and the [Co(H2O)2]2+ fragments.

A novel metal-organic hybrid compound [Co(OOC(CH2)4COO)(4,4′-bipy)] 1, has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. Compound 1 exhibits a novel three-dimensional interpenetrating network with mixed adipate and 4,4′-bipy ligands constructed by covalent bonds.

A new polymer (C5H9NO2)2[La(H2O)7CrMo6H6O24] · 11H2O (1), has been synthesized and structurally characterized. Compound 1 exhibits a novel one-dimensional (1-D) chain-like structure consisting of Anderson-type polyoxoanions hexamolybdochromate [CrMo6H6O24]3− covalently linked by hydrated La3+ ions, furthermore pseudo-2-D layers can be formed owing to the strong (La)OH2⋯O hydrogen bonds among adjacent chains.
