This work aims to investigate the effects of deep eutectic solvents (DES) on the chemical and physical structure of cellulose. Choline chloride-oxalic acid and choline chloride-oxalic acid-glycerol were selected as solvents and cotton fibers was sued as raw materials to explore the difference between cotton fibers treated separately with two different DES. According to yield analysis, ternary solvents alleviated the degradation of cellulose when comparing to binary solvents, resulting in over 90 % of cellulose being obtained. Particularly, there is an esterification reaction of cellulose during treatment with the DES system, which also affects the performance of the subsequent products. Through the simple use of mechanical foaming with polyvinyl alcohol and the palm wax impregnation process, foams with a water contact angle greater than 140° and excellent mechanical properties can be obtained. To find a new way to slow down the release of glufosinate (GA) pesticide and to solve the susceptibility to decomposition by soil microorganisms, a series of novel antibacterial polysaccharide-based sustained release beads (PSRB) were prepared. The PSRB was prepared by immobilization of GA loaded polysaccharide-based chitosan quaternary ammonium salt (PS-HACC) microcapsules in the core and layers of the multilayer sodium alginate beads. The PSRB was characterized by FI-IR spectroscopy, XRD, SEM, and BET to reveal their composition and surface morphology. The optimal conditions of the slow release beads were as follows, the concentration of Ca 2+ , pH, temperature and the coating layer number was 0.1 mol/L, 7, 25 °Cand 3, respectively. The kinetic study showed that the slow release of PSRB was in accordance with the Higuchi kinetic model, and the FI-IR and XRD analyses revealed that the PS-HACC and GA were successfully cross-linked to the PSRB. BET showed that PSRB were greater than PSRB 3 at surface area, pore volume and pore size. Inhibition circles experiments demonstrated that WPSRB 3 has good antibacterial activity. The weed control in soybean with PSRB 3 application is perfect and the weed control cycle is long. Enzymatic hydrolysis is important for lignocellulosic biomass conversion into fermentable sugars. However, the nonproductive adsorption of enzyme on lignin was major hinderance for the enzymatic hydrolysis efficiency. In this study, non-productive adsorption mechanism of cellulase component cellobiohydrolase (CBH) onto lignin was specific investigated. Research revealed that the adsorption behavior of CBH on eucalyptus alkali lignin (E uA ) was affected by reaction conditions. As study on the adsorption kinetic, it was indicated that the adsorption cellulose binding domain (CBD) of CBH onto E uA well fitted with Langmuir adsorption model and pseudo second-order adsorption kinetics model. And the tyrosine site related to the adsorption of CBD onto lignin was proved by the fluorescence and UV spectra analysis. In recent years, researchers have put much attention on the improvements and upgrades of novel wet strength agent in the papermaking fields, especially in the usage of household paper. Herein, PEI M -KH560 by polyethyleneimine (PEI) and γ-glycidyl ether propyl trimethoxysilane (KH560) was synthesized with five molecular weights (Mw) of PEI at 600, 1800, 10,000, 70,000 and 750,000. Results showed that the molecular weight greatly influenced the physicochemical properties of PEI-KH560, such as the size and thermal stability. The intrinsic cationic charge of PEI-KH560 provided the bonding sites with the paper fibers, forming strengthened fiber-fiber joints. It was shown that the dry, wet strength and hydrophobicity of cellulosic paper sheets were obviously improved. When the m (PEI):m(KH560) is 1:2, the strength of papers after sizing by Mw of PEI at 600 and 1800 is the most obvious, with the dry strength increased by 227.9 % and 187.5 %, and the wet strength increased by 183.8 % and 207.8 %, respectively. The maximum hydrophobicity was found at the PEI 1800 -KH560 with the contact angle value of 130.6°. The high energy density and robust cycle properties of lithium-ion batteries contribute to their extensive range of applications. Polyolefin separators are often used for the purpose of storing electrolytes, hence ensuring the efficient internal ion transport. Nevertheless, the electrochemical performance of lithium-ion batteries is constrained by its limited interaction with electrolytes and poor capacity for cation transport. This work presents the preparation of a new bio-based nanofiber separator by combining oxidized lignin (OL) and halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) with polyimide (PI) using an electrospinning technique. Analysis was conducted to examine and compare the structure, morphology, thermal characteristics, and EIS of the separator with those of commercially available polypropylene separator (PP). The results indicate that the PI@OL and PI-OL@ 10 % HNTs separators exhibit higher lithium ion transference number and ionic conductivity. Moreover, the use of HNTs successfully impeded the proliferation of lithium dendrites, hence exerting a beneficial impact on both the cycle performance and multiplier performance of the battery. Consequently, after undergoing 300 iterations, the battery capacity of LiFePO 4 |PI-OL@ 10 % HNTs|Li stays at 92.1 %, surpassing that of PP (86.8 %) and PI@OL (89.6 %). Despite the widespread utilization of nano silver composites in the domain of catalytic hydrogenation of aromatic pollutants in wastewater, certain challenges persist, including the excessive consumption of chemical reagents during the preparation process and the difficulty in recycling. In this study, silver ions were reduced in-situ by taking advantage of the adsorptive and reducing capacities of hydroxyls and amino groups on lignin porous microspheres (LPMs) under mild ultrasonic conditions, and lignin porous microspheres loaded with silver nanoparticles (Ag@LPMs) were conveniently prepared. Ag@LPMs had excellent catalytic and cycling performances for p-nitrophenol (4-NP), methylene blue (MB) and methyl orange (MO). The 4-NP could be completely reduced to 4-AP within 155 s under the catalysis of Ag@LPMs, with a pseudo-first-order kinetic constant of 1.28 min -1 . Furthermore, Ag@LPMs could still complete the catalytic reduction of 4-NP within 10 min after five cycles. Ag@LPMs with the particle size ranging from 100 to 200 μm conferred ease of recycling, and the porous structure effectively resolved the issue of sluggish mass transfer encountered during the catalytic process. At the same time, the binding force of nano silver and LPMs obtained by ultrasonic was stronger than that of heating, so the materials prepared by ultrasonic had better cycling performance. D-allulose, a low-calorie rare sugar catalyzed by D-allulose 3-epimerase (DAE), is highly sought after for its potential health benefits. However, poor reusability and stability of DAE limited its popularization in industrial applications. Although metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) offer a promising enzyme platform for enzyme immobilization, developing customized strategies for MOF immobilization of enzymes remains challenging. In this study, we introduce a designable strategy involving the construction of bimetal-organic frameworks (ZnCo-MOF) based on metal ions compatibility. The DAE@MOFs materials were prepared and characterized, and the immobilization of DAE and the enzymatic characteristics of the MOF-immobilized DAE were subsequently evaluated. Remarkably, DAE@ZnCo-MOF exhibited superior recyclability which could maintain 95 % relative activity after 8 consecutive cycles. The storage stability is significantly improved compared to the free form, with a relative activity of 116 % remaining after 30 days. Molecular docking was also employed to investigate the interaction between DAE and the components of MOFs synthesis. The results demonstrate that the DAE@ZnCo-MOF exhibited enhanced catalytic efficiency and increased stability. Conventional oil-water separation membranes are difficult to establish a trade-off between membrane flux and separation efficiency, and often result in serious secondary contamination due to their fouling issue and non-degradability. Herein, a double drying strategy was introduced through a combination of oven-drying and freeze-drying to create a super-wettable and eco-friendly oil-water separating aerogel membrane (TMA df ). Due to the regular nacre-like structures developed in the drying process and the pores formed by freeze-drying, TMA df aerogel membrane finally develops regularly arranged porous structures. In addition, the aerogel membrane possesses excellent underwater superoleophobicity with a contact angle above 168° and antifouling properties. TMA df aerogel membrane can effectively separate different kinds of oil-water mixtures and highly emulsified oil-water dispersions under gravity alone, achieving exceptionally high flux (3693 L·m -2 ·h -1 ) and efficiency (99 %), while being recyclable. The aerogel membrane also displays stability and universality, making it effective in removing oil droplets from water in corrosive environments such as acids, salts and alkalis. Furthermore, TMA df aerogel membrane shows long-lasting antibacterial properties (photothermal sterilization up to 6 times) and biodegradability (completely degraded after 50 days in soil). Paper-based test film material is widely used in a variety of test instruments for different applications. The enzyme activity test paper sheet is one of the most popularly used test papers. Here we present a novel fabrication of paper-based enzyme activity test paper without cationic resin added in. The chemical pulping fibers were first beaten to different degrees (from 14.6 to 41.5°SR) with a PFI beater. After that, the fibers were modified with a cationic agent (3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl trimethyl ammonium chloride) under the system of alkali and water solution. Finally, the test papers were made with the modified fiber by a regular paper former in lab. The results showed that beating is beneficial for the improvement of the cationization reaction which is indicated by the Zeta potential, FTIR and EDS. The main mechanisms involved are the destruction of crystalline zone, increase of free hydroxyl group and defibrillation. This hypothesis was supported by the SEM, XRD and fiber analyzer. Softness is a crucial criterion in assessing the comfort and usability of tissue paper. Flexible fibers contribute to the softness of the tissue paper by allowing the sheets to conform to the contours of the skin without feeling rough or abrasive. This study focuses on developing innovative CGG/APAM/PDA hydrogels with interpenetrating networks consisting of cationic guar gum, anionic polyacrylamide, and polydopamine for cellulase immobilization, aimed at improving bamboo fiber flexibility. Cellulase biomolecules are efficiently immobilized on CGG/APAM/PDA hydrogels through the Schiff base reaction. Immobilized cellulases have a wider pH applicability than free cellulases, good storage stability, and can maintain high relative activity at relatively high temperatures. The treatment of bamboo fibers with immobilized cellulase results in a significant increase in flexibility, reaching 6.90 × 10 14  N·m 2 , which is 7.18 times higher than that of untreated fibers. The immobilization of cellulases using CGG/APAM/PDA hydrogels as carriers results in a substantial enhancement of storage stability, pH applicability, and inter-fiber bonding strength, as well as the capacity to sustain high relative enzymatic activity at elevated temperatures. Petroleum-based packaging materials are nondegradable and unsustainable and thus are harmful to the environment. Renewable packaging films prepared from bio-based raw materials are promising alternatives to petroleum-based packaging materials. In this study, colorless and transparent bio-based films were successfully cast using a solution containing a mixture of arabinogalactan (AG) and poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA). Vanillin was incorporated into the mixture to endow the films with UV-shielding, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties. The morphological, physical, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties of the blend films were then characterized. At an AG:PVA weight ratio of 1:3, and the vanillin content was 0.15 %, the tensile strength of the AG/PVA/Vanillin (APV) films reached ~28 MPa, while their elongation at break reached ~475 %. The addition of vanillin significantly affected the antioxidant and antibacterial properties of the blend films, which exhibited superb UV barrier capacity. The APV films exhibited extremely low oxygen transmittance, delaying the onset of mold/rot in strawberries and reducing their weight loss. Because of the heat sealability of the blend films, they can be used for encapsulating various substances, such as concentrated laundry liquid. Some of conventional wastewater disinfectants can have a harmful influence on the environment as well as human health. The aim of this investigation was synthesis and characterizes ecofriendly pectin/hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC)/clay and pectin/HEC/clay incorporated with titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO 2 NPs) and use the prepared bionanocomposite as microbial disinfectants for real wastewater. Pectin/HEC/clay and pectin/HEC/clay/TiO 2 bionanocomposite were characterized by various methods including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). Mechanical properties and water vapor permeability (WVP) were carried out. The results of SEM showed that, the prepared bionanocomposite had a smooth surface. Additionally, TiO 2 nanoparticles to the pectin/HEC/clay composites may lead to changes in the FTIR spectrum. The intensity of XRD peaks indicated that, TiO 2 NPs was small size crystallite. TGA illustrated that pectin has moderate thermal stability, while HEC generally exhibits good thermal stability. The TEM showed that, TiO 2 nanoparticles have diameters <25 nm. On the other hand, antimicrobial activities of pectin/HEC/clay against Escherichia coli (E. coli), Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans have been enhanced by adding TiO 2 NPs. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of pectin/HEC/clay/TiO 2 against E. coli was 200 mg/mL. Moreover, complete eradication of E. coli, Salmonella and Candida spp. from real wastewater was observed by using pectin/HEC/clay/TiO 2 bionanocomposite. High internal phase Pickering emulsions (HIPEs) constitute a significant research domain within colloid interface chemistry, addressing the demand for robust emulsion systems across various applications. An innovative nanoparticle, synthesized from a cyclodextrin metal-organic framework encapsulated with a composite of resveratrol and soy isolate protein (RCS), was employed to fortify a high internal phase emulsion. The emulsion's three-dimensional printing capabilities, alongside the encapsulated delivery efficacy for β-carotene, were thoroughly examined. Cyclodextrin metal-organic frameworks (CD-MOFs), facilitated by cellulose nanofibrils, were synthesized to yield particles at the nanoscale, maintaining a remarkable 97.67 % cellular viability at an elevated concentration of 1000 μg/ml. The RCS nanoparticles demonstrated thermal stability and antioxidant capacities surpassing those of CD-MOF. The integration of soybean isolate protein augmented both the hydrophobicity (from 21.95 ± 0.64° to 59.15 ± 0.78°) and the interfacial tension (from 14.36 ± 0.46 mN/m to 5.34 ± 0.81 mN/m) of the CD-MOF encapsulated with resveratrol, thereby enhancing the RCS nanoparticles' adsorption at the oil-water interface with greater stability. The durability of the RCS-stabilized high internal phase emulsions was contingent upon the RCS concentration. Emulsions stabilized with 5 wt%-RCS exhibited optimal physical and chemical robustness, demonstrating superior performance in emulsion 3D printing and β-carotene encapsulation delivery. Sodium alginate (SA) is widely used in the food, biomedical, and chemical industries due to its biocompatibility, biodegradability, and excellent film-forming properties. This article introduces a simple method for preparing uniform alginate-based packaging materials with exceptional properties for fruit preservation. The alginate was uniformly crosslinked by gradually releasing calcium ions triggered by the sustained hydrolysis of gluconolactone (GDL). A cinnamaldehyde (CA) emulsion, stabilized by xanthan without the use of traditional surfactants, was tightly incorporated into the alginate film to enhance its antimicrobial, antioxidant, and UV shielding properties. The alginate-based film effectively blocked ultraviolet rays in the range of 400-200 nm, while allowing for a visible light transmittance of up to 70 %. Additionally, it showed an increased water contact angle and decreased water vapor permeability. The alginate-based film was also employed in the preparation of coated paper through the commonly used coating process in the papermaking industry. The alginate-based material displayed excellent antioxidant properties and antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Botrytis cinerea, successfully extending the shelf life of strawberries to 7 days at room temperature. The multifunctional active smart biomass film was prepared by incorporating chitosan-adsorbed laurate esterified starch curcumin Pickering emulsion into the starch film matrix, with nano-cellulose serving as reinforcing agents. The mechanical and functional properties of the film were studied, and the film was used to monitor the freshness of pork. The results demonstrated a relatively uniform distribution of curcumin and Pickering emulsion droplets within the film matrix. Furthermore, the thermal stability was minimally impacted by the introduction of curcumin Pickering emulsion, while the tensile strength and tensile strain of the film were increased, and both its hydrophobicity and antioxidant properties were improved. The free radical scavenging rate reached 56.01 %, with sustained high antioxidant capacity even after 8 days. Additionally, the presence of curcumin provided the film with pH indicating ability and delayed pork spoilage. Considering the severity of global environmental issues, biomass-derived products have received significant attention as alternatives to foster sustainability and eco-friendliness. The use of metal nanoparticle catalysts for dye decomposition is emerging as a promising approach for environmentally friendly dye removal. In this study, an aminosilane-modified lignin (AML)/silver nanoparticle (AgNP) composite was fabricated and used as a hydrogenation catalyst. The AgNPs were well dispersed on the AML surface and formed strong bonds within the AML/AgNP complex. AML also served as an effective reducing and capping agent for Ag(I) ions. The AML/AgNPs were found to be an efficient catalyst with excellent dye degradation ability and easy reusability. Electromagnetic hydrogels have attracted significant attention due to their vast potential in soft robotics, biomedical engineering, and energy harvesting. To facilitate future commercialization via large-scale industrial processes, we present a facile concept that utilizes the specialized knowledge of papermaking to fabricate hydrogels with multifunctional electromagnetic properties. The principles of papermaking wet end chemistry, which involves the handling of interactions among cellulosic fibers, fines, polymeric additives, and other components in aqueous systems, serves as a key foundation for this concept. Notably, based on these principles, the versatile use of chemical additives in combination with cellulosic materials enables the tailored design of various products. Our methodology exploits the unique hierarchically pitted and hollow tube-like structures of papermaking grade cellulosic fibers with discernible pits, enabling the incorporation of magnetite nanoparticles through lumen loading. By combining microscale softwood-derived cellulosic fibers with additives, we achieve dynamic covalent interactions that transform the cellulosic fiber slurry into an impressive hydrogel. The cellulosic fibers act as a skeleton, providing structural support within the hydrogel framework and facilitating the dispersion of nanoparticles. In accordance with our concept, the typical hydrogel exhibits combined attributes, including electrical conductivity, self-healing properties, pH responsiveness, and dynamic rheologic behavior. Our approach not only yields hydrogels with interesting properties but also aligns with the forefront of advanced cellulosic material applications. These materials hold the promise in remote strain sensing devices, electromagnetic navigation systems, contactless toys, and flexible electronic devices. The concept and findings of the current work may shed light on materials innovation based on traditional pulp and paper processes. To enhance the DNA/RNA amplification efficiency and inhibitor tolerance of Bst DNA polymerase, four chimeric Bst DNA polymerase by fusing with a DNA-binding protein Sto7d and/or a highly hydrophobic protein Hp47 to Bst DNA polymerase large fragment. One of chimeric protein HpStBL exhibited highest inhibitor tolerance, which retained high active under 0.1 U/μL sodium heparin, 0.8 ng/μL humic acid, 2.5× SYBR Green I, 8 % (v/v) whole blood, 20 % (v/v) tissue, and 2.5 % (v/v) stool. Meanwhile, HpStBL showed highest sensitivity (93.75 %) to crude whole blood infected with the African swine fever virus. Moreover, HpStBL showed excellent reverse transcriptase activity in reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification, which could successfully detect 0.5 pg/μL severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 RNA in the presence of 1 % (v/v) stools. The aging of paper seriously threatens the service life of cultural heritage documents. Bacterial cellulose (BC), which has a good fiber aspect ratio and is rich in hydroxyl groups, is suitable for strengthening aged paper. However, a single BC added was not ideal for paper restoration, since only strengthening was not able to resist the persistent acidification of ancient book. In this work, BC was functionalized by 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) to develop the interface bonding with aged paper. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and elemental analysis identified the successful amino-silanization of BC. The modification parameters were optimized as the concentration of APTES of 5 wt%, the reaction time of 4 h, and the reaction temperature of 80 °C based on a considerable improvement in the strength properties without obvious appearance impact on reinforced papers. Moreover, the pH value of the repaired paper was achieved at 8.03, ensuring the stability of the anti-aging effect. In this work, shellac plasticized with oleic acid was solvent cast to prepare the flexible and water-resistant film for packaging applications. The films were prepared with varying amounts of oleic acid and studied in detail for appearance, surface morphology, thermal, chemical, barrier, mechanical, and robustness. The surface morphology confirmed the smooth surface of films up to SH-OA20 (100:20 w/w; shellac: oleic acid). Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed that oleic acid reduced the hydrogen bonding of the shellac matrix to provide a plasticization effect. Also, the thermal analysis showed a reduction in the melting enthalpy. Moreover, the plasticized films had a better barrier to water vapor due to increased smoothness and reduction in brittleness. Adding oleic acid also increased the elongation at break up to 40 % without any changes in tensile strength. The flexibility of the films increased with the oleic acid content, making them resistant to burst, crumbling, bending, rolling, and stretching. Oleic acid also showed the retardation of aging and thermal aging of shellac. Kraft lignin (KL) holds significant potential as a renewable resource for the development of innovative materials that are currently not fully utilized. In this study, a novel iminated lignin (IL) was synthesized by grafting primary amine lignin (N-KL) onto salicylaldehyde. The effects of the dosage and reaction temperature on the nitrogen content of N-KL were evaluated. The maximum nitrogen content in N-KL reached to 3.32 %. Characterization by spectroscopy techniques (FT-IR, XPS, and NMR), elemental analysis, and gel permeation chromatography confirmed the imination of lignin. Additionally, the antioxidant activity of the lignin samples was investigated using the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging ability. Moreover, the DPPH radical scavenging capacity of IL-6 (IC 50  = 38.6 ± 3.9 μg/mL) was close to that of commercial antioxidant butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) (IC 50  = 37.7 ± 4.5 μg/mL). Furthermore, the adsorption equilibrium results indicated that IL-6 had a maximum uptake of 115.6 mg/g Pb 2+ , which was 3.2-fold higher than that of KL. Kinetic adsorption experiments suggested that IL-6 adsorption follows a pseudo-second-order model. The efficient development and utilization of green biomass-based macromolecule engineering materials are essential for the sustainable development of human civilization. In this study, lignin-based ethylene-propylene-diene-monomer (EPDM) composites with excellent mechanical performance were fabricated using a simple method. The effects of water-insoluble enzymatically hydrolyzed lignin (EL) and alkali lignin (KL) on the mechanical performance of the composites were investigated separately. The results showed that the tensile strength of EPDM reinforced with KL and EL increased to 24.5 MPa and 22.1 MPa, respectively, surpassing that of the carbon black (CB)-reinforced EPDM. After 72 h of thermo-oxidative aging, the retention rates of the tensile strength and elongation at break in the lignin-reinforced EPDM were much better than those formed with pure CB, indicating that lignin significantly improved the thermo-oxidative aging resistance of the composites. In summary, the Zn 2+ coordination bonds formed between the interface of EPDM and lignin in lignin/CB/EPDM ternary composites effectively improved the mechanical performance and aging resistance of the composites. Converting lignin into specific aromatic chemicals for utilization through depolymerization of lignin is an effective way to achieve high-value applications. There are many depolymerization methods that can do this, but there are problems such as harsh reaction conditions, low depolymerization efficiency and uncontrollable target products that need to be solved. This study reports a novel system for the oxidative depolymerization of alkali lignin using Fe- and Mn- modified TS-1 as a catalyst to assist in the highly selective production of vanillin. We also proposed a possible reaction pathway for the oxidative depolymerization of alkali lignin to produce vanillin catalyzed by Fe-Mn/TS-1 catalyst. The catalytic effects of TS-1, Fe/TS-1, and Fe-Mn/TS-1 catalysts on the oxidative depolymerization of lignin to produce phenolic monomers and vanillin were investigated. The results show that the modified catalysts can effectively improve the efficiency of linkage bond breaking in lignin, especially the β-O-4 bond, in which the inter-band transitions of Fe and Mn play an important role. The synergistic effect of the bimetallic-loaded catalyst (Fe-Mn/TS-1) could catalyze the oxidative depolymerization of lignin more efficiently than the monometallic-loaded catalyst (Fe/TS-1). This lignin oxidative depolymerization system produced 40.59 wt% bio-oil including 12.24 wt% phenolic monomers and 16.17 wt% re-lignin after the addition of Fe-Mn/TS-1 catalyst, owning the highest phenolic monomer yield. Surprisingly, this lignin oxidative depolymerization system exhibited high yield for vanillin (8.36 wt%) production. 3D multifunctional scaffold has been designed based on Cs/SA/NS/NPHA. Nanoparticles hydroxyapatite (NPHA) was prepared via precipitation method of sodium dihydrogen phosphate in presence calcium chloride. Different ratios of Chitosan (CS)/Sodium Alginate (SA) were used to prepare Cs/SA scaffolds in presence of CaCl 2 as a cross linker. NPHA was incorporated in CS/SA scaffold and neomycin sulfate (NS) was added as an antimicrobial agent. The structure and surface morphology of the scaffolds were investigated via infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) techniques. Additionally, Antimicrobial activity of the scaffold has evaluated against Gram- negative and Gram- positive bacteria. The result showed promising antimicrobial activity against Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans. Furthermore, cytotoxicity against MG63 osteosarcoma cell and fibroblast normal cell line has investigated. The result showed anti-proliferative against MG63. DFT calculations and molecular docking were used to study the reactivity of the compounds. This work focuses on the influence of ozone pretreatment on the fractionation and solubilization of sugarcane bagasse and soda bagasse pulp fibers in sodium hydroxide/urea solution, as well as the application of regenerated cellulose for producing edible films. The methodology involved pretreating lignocelluloses with ozone for 20 to 120 min before dissolving in sodium hydroxide/urea solution. The influence of the pretreatment conditions on cellulose dissolution yield was investigated. Regenerated cellulose films were then formed, with and without the addition of 2 % chitosan. Mechanical, physical, structural, thermal, and antimicrobial attributes were determined as a function of ozonation conditions of raw materials and chitosan content. The findings exhibited positive effects of short ozonation on enhancing mechanical strength, cohesion, and hydrophobicity. The prolonged ozonation of 120 min demonstrated optimal improvements in continuity, swelling, and antibacterial resistance of obtained films. Incorporating chitosan enhanced tensile performance, stiffness, and vapor barriers but increased moisture absorption. The unique molecular structure of cellulose makes it challenging to dissolve at room temperature (R.T.), and the dissolution mechanism remains unclear. In this study, we employed ZnCl 2 aqueous solution for cellulose dissolution at R.T., proposing a novel four-stage dissolution mechanism. The efficient dissolution of cellulose in ZnCl 2 aqueous solution at R.T. involves four indispensable stages: rapid migration of hydrated Zn 2+ ions towards cellulose, sufficient penetration between cellulose sheets, strong interaction with cellulose hydroxyl groups, and effective dispersion of separated cellulose chains. The proposed four-stage dissolution mechanism was validated through theoretical calculations and experimental evidence. The hydrated Zn 2+ ions in ZnCl 2  + 3.5H 2 O solvent exhibited ideal migration, penetration, interaction, and dispersion abilities, resulting in efficient cellulose dissolution at R.T. Moreover, only slight degradation of cellulose occurred in ZnCl 2  + 3.5H 2 O at R.T. Consequently, the regenerated cellulose materials obtained from ZnCl 2  + 3.5H 2 O (R.T.) exhibited better mechanical properties. Notably, the solvent recovery rate reached about 95 % based on previous usage during five cycles. The solvent is outstanding for its green, low-cost, efficiency, simplicity, R.T. conditions and recyclability. In this study, novel Cu-complexes of heterocyclic cellulose which were synthesized via the reaction of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) from bagasse pulp with NH 2 NH 2 to give hydrazide cellulose which easily reacted with CS 2 to form salt and then cyclized in the presence of HCl to afford cellulose oxadiazole, or with hydrazine hydrate to give cellulose triazole. Furthermore, the cellulose oxadiazole and triazole moieties acting as chelating agents with metal ion Cu (II), and all synthesized compounds were examined for their spectral analysis to show the adsorption of Cu (II) on the surface of cellulose through intramolecular hydrogen bonding. Results illustrated that cellulose oxadiazole and Cu- cellulose oxadiazole exhibited antimicrobial activities more than triazole and Cu- cellulose triazole. Furthermore, anticancer results showed that both cellulose oxadiazole and triazole exhibited activity higher than Cu-cellulose oxadiazole and Cu-cellulose triazole, where the cellulose triazole showed the highest activity (IC50 = 58.7 μg/μL). Additionally, the docking simulation of the synthesized cellulose complexes with different proteins such as PDBID:3t88, PDBID:4ynt, PDBID:1tgh, PDBID:2wje, and PDBID:4hdq and shortage bond length to confirm the experimental results. Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) is one of the essential functional excipients in the formulation of tablets. The need for cheaper MCC sources has drawn significant attention to exploring renewable sources. In this study, MCC was produced from soybean hull (SBH), the primary by-product of the soy industry, using a novel, simplified, and cost-effective approach. Various characterization techniques were used to study the physicochemical properties and micromeritics of the SBH-based MCC powders and compare them to those of the commercial Avicel PH-101. SBH MCCs had a larger particle size, a broader particle size distribution, a higher degree of polymerization, a higher degree of crystallinity, better thermal stability, and slightly superior flowability and compressibility than Avicel PH-101. The tableting blends (containing 60 % MCC) were prepared, and the post-compression out-of-die Heckel analysis showed that formulations with aggregated SBH MCCs were less ductile than those made with Avicel PH-101, resulting in a lower porosity (better compressibility) of the latter at higher compression pressures. The hardness values for all formulations were above 6 kg, with higher values for those made with Avicel PH-101. The lubricant sensitivity was lower for SBH MCCs. Protein-based therapies have opened new opportunities to control various diseases, including metabolic disorders, tumors, and viral outbreaks. Corn starch (CS) is a good alternative to synthetic polymers due to its sustainability; nevertheless, because of its weak tensile strength, the matrix requires another polymer. Therefore, 0.5 % (w/v) moringa gum (MG) was added. The purpose of this study was to assess how pine cone extract (PCE) affected the physiochemical and mechanical properties of corn starch and moringa gum (CS/MG) films and their use as UV-blocking composites. The findings suggest that the PCE improved the elongation at break from 3.27 % to 35.2 % while greatly reducing the tensile strength. The hydrogen bonding between CS/MG and PCE was visible in the FTIR spectra. The XRD graph indicated that the films were amorphous. Foam materials have been widely used in cushioning packaging to ensure the integrity of products inside by absorbing energy and preventing collision. However, the extensive use of petroleum-based plastic foams may exacerbate environmental pollution and consume large amounts of energy. Therefore, there has been an increasing focus on producing high-performance and environmentally friendly foams in recent years. In this study, we developed a simple approach for manufacturing cellulose fiber-based capillary foams featuring superior stability and three-dimensional (3D) backbone network cross-linking structure composed of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and cationic starch (CS). The resultant capillary foam showed low density (0.154 g/cm 3 ), superior mechanical properties (elastic modulus ranging from 77 to 501 kPa), high energy absorbing efficiency (32.8 %), and low cushioning coefficient (3.0). Besides, the end-of-life cellulose fiber-based capillary foam can be easily recycled for use, showing an attractive closed-loop cycle process. Improving electron transfer rate of Co species and inhibiting aggregation of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) particles are essential prerequisites for activating advanced oxidation process in wastewater treatment field. Here, we exploit Cu species with variable valence states to accelerate electron transfer of Co species and then to boost the unsatisfactory degradation efficiency for refractory pharmaceuticals via in-situ growth of copper and cobalt species on l-lysine functionalized carboxylated cellulose nanofibers. Utilizing the synergistic interplay of Co sites and deliberately exposed Cu 0 /Cu 1+ atoms, the subtly designed catalyst exhibited a surprising degradation efficiency (~100 %) toward tetracycline hydrochloride within 10 min (corresponding to a catalytic capacity of 267.71 mg/g) without adjusting temperature and pH. Meanwhile, the catalyst displays good recyclability, well tolerance for coexisting ions and excellent antibacterial performance derived from the intrinsic antibacterial property of Cu-MOF. As a renewable aromatic compound with enormous production potential, lignin has various potential high-value utilization pathways, but the success achieved in the field of photocatalysis is limited. Herein, this work prepares a new type of photocatalyst by modifying Graphitic Carbon Nitride Nanotubes (CNT) with self-assembled lignin nanospheres for the photocatalytic production of H 2 O 2 and the degradation of azo dyes. Under light conditions, lignin enhances the production of H 2 O 2 through oxygen reduction and collaborates with carbon nitride tubes to generate O 2 - and 1 O 2 . Furthermore, carbon nitride tubes form electron-rich regions with lignin, promoting the transfer of electrons from adsorbed aromatic pollutants to this region, thereby facilitating their degradation. The experimental results indicate that the addition of 5 % lignin significantly enhances the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of azo dyes, with a degradation rate 1.87 times higher than that of the original carbon nitride tubes. Furthermore, CNL also have excellent degradation ability to pollutants in actual wastewater. Hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) is a green thermochromic material in energy-saving buildings, anti-counterfeiting, and data security fields. However, the high lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of HPC, around 42 °C (higher than the human thermal comfort temperature), limits its thermochromic sensitivity, poor stability, and short lifespan. Herein, we developed a durable, high-performance cellulose-based thermochromic composite with a lower LCST and easy preparation capability by combining HPC with sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). In such thermochromic cellulose, CMC constructs a hydrophilic skeleton to enable uniform dispersion of HPC, and functions as a stronger competitor to attract the water molecules compared to HPC, both of which trigger high thermochromic sensitivity and low LCST (just 32.5 °C) of our CMC/HPC. In addition, CMC/HPC shows superior stability, such as 100-day working capability and 60-time recyclability. The characteristics of multi-hydroxyl structure and strong hydrogen bonding in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) make its melting point close to its decomposition temperature, causing melt-processing difficulty. In this work, following the plasticization of small-molecule primary plasticizer acetamide, lignin was demonstrated as a green secondary plasticizer in realizing the melt processing and simultaneous reinforcement of PVA. During the plasticization process, lignin was able to combine with the hydroxyl groups of PVA, so as to destroy the hydrogen bonds and regularity of the PVA chains. The synergistic plasticization effect of lignin dramatically reduced the melting point of PVA from 185 °C to 151 °C. The thermal processing window of PVA composites was expanded from 50 °C to roughly 80 °C after introducing lignin. In contrast to acetamide, the addition of lignin significantly increased the tensile strength and Young's modulus of the composites to 71 MPa and 1.34 GPa, respectively. Meanwhile, lignin helped to hinder the migration of acetamide via hydrogen bonds. With the addition of lignin, the composites also displayed enhanced hydrophobicity and excellent UV shielding performance. As a cellulose-derived material, nanocellulose possesses unique properties that make it an ideal substrate for various functional composite materials. In this study, we developed a novel composite membrane material capable of adsorbing and photo-catalyzing formaldehyde by immobilizing HKUST-1 (copper open framework composed of 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid) onto NFC (Nano-fibrillated cellulose) membranes and subsequently loading modified carbon nitride. The synthesized CNx@HN composite membrane (consisting of NFC membrane with anchored HKUST-1 and modified g-C 3 Nx nanosheets) was thoroughly characterized, and its photocatalytic degradation performance towards low concentrations of formaldehyde (3.0 mg/m 3 ) was investigated. The results demonstrated that HKUST-1's porous nature exhibited a concentrated adsorption capacity for formaldehyde, while the modified CNx (Modified g-C 3 Nx nanosheets) displayed robust photocatalytic degradation of formaldehyde. The synergistic effect of HKUST-1 and modified CNx on the NFC membrane significantly enhanced the efficiency of formaldehyde degradation. Under xenon lamp irradiation, CNx@HN-5 achieved a total removal efficiency of 86.9 % for formaldehyde, with a photocatalytic degradation efficiency of 48.45 %, showcasing its exceptional ability in both adsorption and photocatalytic degradation of formaldehyde. The rapid development of the industry has led to the destruction of the earth's ozone layer, resulting in an increasingly serious problem of excessive ultraviolet radiation. Exploring effective measures to address these problems has become a hot topic. Lignin shows promise in the design and preparation of anti-ultraviolet products due to its inherent properties. However, it is important to investigate way to enhance the reactivity of lignin and determine its application form in related products. In this study, phenolic reactions with tea polyphenols were conducted through acid-catalyzed conversion, utilizing organic solvent lignin as the primary material. The phenolic hydroxyl content of the original lignin increased significantly by 218.8 %, resulting in notable improvements in UV resistance and oxidation resistance for phenolic lignin. Additionally, micro-nanocapsule emulsions were formed using phenolic lignin particles as surfactants through ultrasonic cavitation with small-molecule sunscreens. A bio-based sunscreen was prepared with phenolated lignin micro-nanocapsules as the active ingredient, achieving an SPF 100.2 and demonstrating excellent stability. The sunscreen also exhibited strong antioxidant properties and impermeability, ensuring user safety. 3D printing technology demonstrates significant potential for the rapid fabrication of tailored geometric structures. Nevertheless, the prevalent use of fossil-derived compositions in printable inks within the realm of 3D printing results in considerable environmental pollution and ecological consequences. Lignin, the second most abundant biomass source on earth, possesses attributes such as cost-effectiveness, renewability, biodegradability, and non-toxicity. Enriched with active functional groups including hydroxyl, carbonyl, carboxyl, and methyl, coupled with its rigid aromatic ring structure and inherent anti-oxidative and thermoplastic properties, lignin emerges as a promising candidate for formulating printable inks. This comprehensive review presents the utilization of lignin, either in conjunction with functional materials or through the modification of lignin derivatives, as the primary constituent (≥50 wt%) for formulating printable inks across photo-curing-based (SLA/DLP) and extrusion-based (DIW/FDM) printing technologies. Furthermore, lignin as an additive with multi-faceted roles/functions in 3D printing inks is explored. The effects of lignin on the properties of printing inks and printed objects are evaluated. This study aimed to investigate a novel method for the green synthesis of iron nanoparticles (FeNPs) using marigold extract (Calendula officinalis L), kraft pulping black liquor, and nanocellulose. Then, the efficacy of FeNPs as a direct nanofertilizer on the growth parameters of marigold was investigated. Characterization techniques including FESEM, EDX, VSM, and FTIR were used to confirm the successful synthesis of FeNPs. The characterization results confirmed the formation and presence of FeNPs in the 20-100 nm range. FeNPs synthesized with nanocellulose notably enhanced marigold growth parameters compared to other materials. However, all nanoparticle variants, including those from marigold extract and black liquor, improved germination, plant height, root length, and plant dry weight compared to the control. Moreover, treatments exhibited higher available iron and total plant iron levels than the control. Solar desalination is an effective solution to address the global water scarcity issue. However, biofouling poses a significant challenge for solar evaporators due to the presence of bacteria in seawater. In this study, an anti-biofouling evaporator was constructed using the synergistic antibacterial effect of lignin and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The AgNPs were easily synthesized using lignin as reductant under mild reaction conditions. Subsequently, the Lignin-AgNPs solution was integrated into polyacrylamide hydrogel (PAAm) without any purification steps, resulting in the formation of Lignin/AgNPs-PAAm (LAg-PAAm). Under the combined action of AgNPs and the hydroquinone groups present in oxidized lignin, LAg-PAAm achieved over 99 % disinfection efficiency within 1 h, effectively preventing biofilm formation in pore channels of solar evaporators. The anti-biofouling solar evaporator demonstrated an evaporation rate of 1.85 kg m -2  h -1 under 1 sun irradiation, and maintained stable performance for >30 days due to its high efficient bactericidal effect. Transparent wood (TW) has attracted much attention in the field of energy saving building structural materials because of its high light transmittance, good thermal insulation performance and good toughness. However, the polymeric resins used in the present study to impregnate lignin-based wood templates are usually derived from petroleum-based chemical resources, which pose a fatal threat to human beings both in terms of consuming large amounts of resources and causing environmental pollution problems. It is therefore important to develop alternatives to petroleum-derived chemicals in renewable natural resources. Here, we report a green and sustainable TW production process based on the bio-recycling concept. Lignin-based sustainable resin (LSR) was prepared from waste lignin produced during delignification by polymerization of guaiacol. At the same time, according to FT-IR and NMR data analysis combined with previous studies, the synthesis mechanism of LSR was proposed, and this result provided a reference for bio-based resins made from biomass materials. The prepared lignin-based sustainable transparent wood (LSTW) has good light transmittance and good dimensional stability. Cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) film is known to be one kind of dynamic color-sensing material, capable of reversible color changes in response to varying humidity levels. However, the brittleness, low hygroscopicity and poor homogeneity of these films have hindered their development. To address this limitation, we present a novel approach where we combine natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) with sorbitol under the influence of circular shear flow to craft a CNC humidity-sensitive film with enhanced flexibility, hygroscopicity and homogeneity. The inclusion of sorbitol and NADES enhances hygroscopicity and improves the flexibility. Surprisingly, the introduction of circular shear flow was found not only to improve homogeneity, macroscopically and microscopically, but also to further enhance flexibility, toughness, and water absorption capability. The resulting composite films demonstrated highly reversible color changes across the whole visible spectrum depending on the relative humidity, showing their capability to be reliable humidity-sensing materials. Bioceramics are widely used in bone tissue engineering, yet the inherent high brittleness and low ductility of the ceramics lead to poor machinability, which restricts their clinical applications. Here, a flexible and processable 3D printed bioceramic scaffold with high ceramic content (66.7 %) and shape fidelity (volume shrinkage rate < 5 %) was developed by freeze-thaw cycles, which was assisted by polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and silk fibroin (SF). The hydrogen bonding between PVA imparted printability to the ceramic ink and enabled the subsequent formation of flexible scaffolds, which can be twisted, bend and cut to match bone defects. After adding SF, the printability of the inks and hydrophilicity of the scaffolds were enhanced, owing to the interactions between PVA and SF. Further, combined with the formation of β-sheet in SF, the scaffolds exhibited superior mechanical strength and excellent thermal stability, and can fully recover at 35 % compressive strain, which was breaking through the brittleness bottleneck of conventional ceramic scaffolds. Moreover, in vitro experiments showed excellent mineralization ability, osteogenic and angiogenic activities of the scaffolds, demonstrating its potential in bone regeneration. This work deals with assessing the performance of lignin nanoparticles (LNPs) in solving the problem of using salicylic acid as an agrochemical compound, via controlling its release. LNPs, obtained from black liquor, have been used to develop new delivery systems. Gels from chelating of LNPs with chitosan or chitosan nanoparticles (Cs-NPs) in presence or absence of cationic starch are investigated to achieve this essential aim. The nanoparticles are examined by TEM, ATR-FTIR, and XRD techniques. Based on measurements of swelling, encapsulation, release profile, release kinetic modeling of salicylic acid (SA), infrared spectroscopy, thermo-gravimetric analysis and scanning electron microscope the behavior of the investigated nanocomposite gels is assessed. The results show that the SA release profile of Cs-NPs and its nanocomposite with LNPs in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) (7.4) (51.5-69.4 %) is higher than that of the mixture of water and ethanol (34.9-50.4 %). The release profile in PBS (7.4) demonstrates a trend of prolonged SA release over a 48-hour period. Best control of the SA-release can be achieved by CsNPs-LNPs nanocomposite. Comparing the results with previous literature demonstrates the promising characteristics of these examined gel nanocomposites. Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) was successfully synthesized from sugarcane bagasse using a rapid, low-temperature hydrochloric acid (HCl) gas treatment. The primary aim was to develop an energy-efficient "green" cellulose extraction process. Response surface methodology optimized the liquid-phase hydrolysis conditions to 3.3 % HCl at 117 °C for 127 min to obtain MCC with 350 degree of polymerization. An alternative gas-phase approach utilizing gaseous HCl diluted in hot 40 °C air was proposed to accelerate MCC production. The cellulose pulp was moistened to 15-18 % moisture content and then exposed to HCl gas, which was absorbed by the moisture in the cellulose fibers to generate a highly concentrated acidic solution that hydrolyzed the cellulose. The cellulose pulp was isolated from depithed bagasse through soda pulping, multistage bleaching and cold alkali purification. Hydrolysis was conducted by saturating the moist cellulose fibers with gaseous HCl mixed with hot air. Extensive analytical characterization using FT-IR, XRD, SEM, TGA, DSC, particle size, and porosity analyses verified comparable physicochemical attributes between MCC samples prepared via liquid and gas phase methods. The gas-produced MCC revealed 85% crystallinity, 71 Å crystallite dimensions, and thermally stable rod-shaped morphology with an average diameter below 200 μm. The similar material properties validate the proposed gas-based technique as an equally effective yet more energy-efficient alternative to conventional aqueous acid hydrolysis for fabricating highly pure MCC powders from lignocellulose. This sustainable approach enables the value-addition of sugarcane bagasse agro-industrial residue into cellulosic nanomaterials for wide-ranging industrial applications. High-value utilization of bleached lignin has been widely used in different fields, whereas the investigation on darkened lignin in composite materials was often ignored. In this work, a sort of eco-friendly and structurally robust sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/sodium lignosulfonate (SLS) black composite mulch film was elaborately designed. The chelation and redox reaction effect between Fe ions and SLS lead to the formation of a more quinones structure on lignin, darkening both lignin and the mulch films. The chelation effect between Fe ions and biopolymer formed three-dimensional structures, which can be used as sacrifice bonds to dissipate energy and improve the mechanical properties of the composite films. In particular, the maximum elongation at break and toughness increased from 48.4 % and 1141 kJ/m 3 for the CMC/PVA film to 210.9 % and 1426 kJ/m 3 for the optimized CMC/PVA/SLS/Fe black mulch film, respectively. In addition, the optimized black mulch film also possesses good soil water retention, thermal preservation effect, controlled urea release, and well biodegradability. In this study, the solubilization and structural changes of lignin in naked oat stems were investigated under subcritical water autohydrolysis systems (170-210 °C, 0.68-1.85 MPa). In this system, Hemicellulose was preferentially hydrolyzed in the liquid water at elevated temperatures, leading to the production of acetic acid and glucuronic acid, which acidified the reaction system. Under acidic and high-temperature conditions, lignin primarily underwent degradation and condensation reactions. At autohydrolysis temperatures below 190 °C and autohydrolysis pressures below 1.22 MPa, lignin degradation was predominant, realizing a maximum lignin removal of 47.8 % and breakage of numerous β-O-4 bonds from lignin. At autohydrolysis temperatures above 190 °C and autohydrolysis pressures above 1.22 MPa, lignin condensation dominated, with an increase in the amount of organic acids generated upon hemicellulose degradation, leading to condensation reactions with the degraded low-molecular-weight lignin. The degree of lignin condensation was positively correlated with the temperature of the reaction system. Cellulose is a sustainable natural polymer material that has found widespread application in transformers and other power equipment because of its excellent electrical and mechanical performance. However, the utility of cellulose materials has been limited by the challenge of balancing heat resistance with flexibility. On the basis of the preliminary research conducted by the research team, further proposals have been put forward for a method involving disk milling to create a "micro-nanocollaboration" network for the fabrication of flexible, high-temperature-resistant, and ultrafine fiber-based cellulose insulating films. The resulting full-component cellulose films exhibited impressive properties, including high tensile strength (22 MPa), flexibility (92-263 mN), remarkable electrical breakdown strength (39 KV/mm), and volume resistivity that meets the standards for insulation materials (4.92 × 10 11  Ω·m). As a bio-based material, microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) has been applied in many fields including pharmaceuticals, foods, and cosmetics in recent years. However, traditional preparation methods of MCC are facing many challenges due to economic and eco-environmental issues. In this study, softwood dissolved pulp was sieved to long fiber (LF) and short fiber (SF), and subsequently to prepare LF-MCC and SF-MCC by hydrochloric acid hydrolysis at different acid dosages (3-7 wt%), reaction times (30-90 min), and temperatures (75-95 °C). The as-obtained MCC products were compared in terms of morphology, size, crystallinity, and chemical structure. The results indicated that the crystallinity and yield of LF-MCC were high, with maximum values of 78.41 % and 98.68 %, respectively. The particle size distribution of SF-MCC was more uniform in the range of 20-80 μm, with a maximum of 59.44 % at 20-80 μm occupancy proportion. Moreover, SF-MCC had a typical rod-like shape and larger surface area as well as better thermal behavior than LF-MCC. When LF-MCC and SF-MCC were used as fillers in the production of ibuprofen tablets, the tablets added with LF-MCC exhibited higher hardness, friability, dissolution rate, and shorter disintegration time. This study aims to explore the prevention of chitosan modified with a fused heterocyclic compound as a sustainable corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 1 M HCl. Electrochemical instruments, including potentiodynamic polarization techniques, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were employed to evaluate the corrosion protection performance. The outcomes showed that the chitosan modified with a fused heterocyclic compound has outstanding inhibition performance, with an inhibition effectiveness of 98.25 % at 100 ppm. The anti-corrosion features of modified chitosan were ascribed to the presence of hetero atoms in modified chitosan composite which leads to the creation of a protective layer, The modified chitosan composite behaved as mixed-typed inhibitors, as shown by the PDP results. The modified chitosan composite adsorbs on mild steel in the investigated corrosive media via chemisorption interactions, and its adsorption followed the Langmuir adsorption model.
