A single-center retrospective cohort study described nine patients who underwent kidney transplants and developed various types of carcinoma during immunosuppression treatment for granulomatosis with polyangiitis or microscopic polyangiitis. The patients received a combination of drugs such as cyclophosphamide, prednisone, basiliximab, methylprednisolone, azathioprine, tacrolimus, mycophenolate mofetil, everolimus, or ciclosporin. The study highlighted the development of renal-cell carcinoma, squamous-cell carcinoma, metastatic undifferentiated squamous-cell carcinoma, or basal-cell carcinoma in these patients, emphasizing the potential toxicities associated with immunosuppressive therapy.
