The unknown relative motions between synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and a ground moving target will lead to serious range cell migration (RCM) and Doppler frequency spread (DFS). The energy of the moving target will defocus, given the effect of the RCM and DFS. The moving target will easily produce Doppler ambiguity, due to the low pulse repetition frequency of radar, and the Doppler ambiguity complicates the corrections of the RCM and DFS. In order to address these issues, an efficient ground moving target focusing method for SAR based on scaled Fourier transform and scaled inverse Fourier transform is presented. Firstly, the operations based on the scaled Fourier transform and scaled inverse Fourier transforms are presented to focus the moving targets in consideration of Doppler ambiguity. Subsequently, in accordance with the detailed analysis of multiple target focusing, the spurious peak related to the cross term is removed. The proposed method can accurately eliminate the DFS and RCM, and the well-focused result of the moving target can be achieved under the complex Doppler ambiguity. Then, the blind speed sidelobe can be further avoided. The presented method has high computational efficiency without the step of parameter search. For synthetic aperture microwave radiometers, the problem of Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) is becoming more and more serious, which affects both the scientific retrieval of remote sensing data and the imaging quality of brightness temperature (BT) images. In the visibility data domain, the array factor synthesis algorithm is commonly employed to mitigate RFI sources and their Gibbs trailing. In the BT image domain, the CLEAN algorithm is typical applied to mitigate RFI sources and their Gibbs trailing. However, the array factor synthesis algorithm can result in anomalous BT points near the "zero trap" region, and the CLEAN algorithm will miss some BT points below a certain threshold. In this paper, a Bi-domain combined mitigation algorithm is proposed to mitigate RFI sources and their Gibbs trailing. Following initial mitigation in the visibility data domain, dual thresholds are applied to normalize anomalous BT points near the "zero trap" region, thereby enhancing imaging quality. The effectiveness of the Bi-domain combined mitigation algorithm is verified by using both measured data from SMOS L1A and simulated data. The experimental results demonstrate that the Bi-domain combined mitigation algorithm is superior to the array factor synthesis algorithm and the CLEAN algorithm in mitigating RFI sources and their Gibbs trailing. The significant differences in data domains between SAR images and the expensive and time-consuming process of data labeling pose significant challenges to terrain classification. Current terrain classification methodologies face challenges in addressing domain disparities and detecting uncommon terrain effectively. Based on Style Transformation and Domain Metrics (STDMs), we propose an unsupervised domain adaptive framework named STDM-UDA for terrain classification in this paper, which consists of two steps: image style transfer and domain adaptive segmentation. As a first step, image style transfer is performed within the image space to mitigate the differences in low-level features between SAR image domains. Subsequently, leveraging this process, the segmentation network extracts image features, employing domain metrics and adversarial training to enhance alignment between domain gaps in the semantic feature space. Finally, experiments conducted on several pairs of SAR images, each exhibiting varying degrees of differences in key imaging parameters such as source, resolution, band, and polarization, demonstrate the robustness of the proposed method. It achieves remarkably competitive classification accuracy, particularly for unlabeled, high-resolution broad scenes, effectively overcoming the domain gaps introduced by the diverse imaging parameters under studies. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) change detection provides a powerful tool for continuous, reliable, and objective observation of the Earth, supporting a wide range of applications that require regular monitoring and assessment of changes in the natural and built environment. In this paper, we introduce a novel SAR image change detection method based on principal component analysis and two-level clustering. First, two difference images of the log-ratio and mean-ratio operators are computed, then the principal component analysis fusion model is used to fuse the two difference images, and a new difference image is generated. To incorporate contextual information during the feature extraction phase, Gabor wavelets are used to obtain the representation of the difference image across multiple scales and orientations. The maximum magnitude across all orientations at each scale is then concatenated to form the Gabor feature vector. Following this, a cascading clustering algorithm is developed within this discriminative feature space by merging the first-level fuzzy c-means clustering with the second-level neighbor rule. Ultimately, the two-level combination of the changed and unchanged results produces the final change map. The utilization of optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) multi-source data to obtain better land classification results has received increasing research attention. However, there is a large property and distributional difference between optical and SAR data, resulting in an enormous challenge to fuse the inherent correlation information to better characterize land features. Additionally, scale differences in various features in remote sensing images also influence the classification results. To this end, an optical and SAR Siamese semantic segmentation network, OPT-SAR-MS2Net, is proposed. This network can intelligently learn effective multi-source features and realize end-to-end interpretation of multi-source data. Firstly, the Siamese network is used to extract features from optical and SAR images in different channels. In order to fuse the complementary information, the multi-source feature fusion module fuses the cross-modal heterogeneous remote sensing information from both high and low levels. To adapt to the multi-scale features of the land object, the multi-scale feature-sensing module generates multiple information perception fields. This enhances the network's capability to learn contextual information. The experimental results obtained using WHU-OPT-SAR demonstrate that our method outperforms the state of the art, with an mIoU of 45.2% and an OA of 84.3%. With the number of new satellites increasing dramatically, comprehensive space surveillance is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, high-resolution inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging of satellites can provide an in-situ assessment of the satellites. This paper demonstrates that pseudo-noise signals can also be used for satellite imaging, in addition to classical linear frequency-modulated chirp signals. Pseudo-noise transmission signals offer the advantage of very low cross-correlation values. This, for instance, enables the possibility of a system with multiple channels transmitting instantaneously. Furthermore, it can significantly reduce signal interference with other systems operating in the same frequency spectrum, which is of particular interest for high-bandwidth, high-power systems such as satellite imaging radars. A new routine has been introduced to generate a wideband pseudo-noise signal with a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) similar to that of a chirp signal. This is essential for applications where the transmit signal power budget is sharply limited by the high-power amplifier. Characterizing the coseismic slip behaviors of earthquakes could offer a better understanding of regional crustal deformation and future seismic potential assessments. On 18 December 2023, an Mw 6.0 earthquake occurred on the Lajishan–Jishishan fault system (LJFS) in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau, causing serious damage and casualties. The seismogenic fault hosting this earthquake is not well constrained, as no surface rupture was identified in the field. To address this issue, in this study, we use Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) data to investigate the coseismic surface deformation of this earthquake and invert both ascending and descending line-of-sight observations to probe the seismogenic fault and its slip characteristics. The InSAR observations show up to ~6 cm surface uplift caused by the Jishishan earthquake, which is consistent with the thrust-dominated focal mechanism. A Bayesian-based dislocation modeling indicates that two fault models, with eastern and western dip orientations, could reasonably fit the InSAR observations. By calculating the coseismic Coulomb failure stress changes (∆CFS) induced by both fault models, we find that the east-dipping fault scenario could reasonably explain the aftershock distributions under the framework of stress triggering, while the west-dipping fault scenario produced a negative ∆CFS in the region of dense aftershocks. Integrating regional geological structures, we suggest that the seismogenic fault of the Jishishan earthquake, which strikes NNE with a dip of 56° to the east, may be either the Jishishan western margin fault or a secondary buried branch. The optimal finite-fault slip modeling shows that the coseismic slip was dominated by reverse slip and confined to a depth range between ~5 and 15 km. The released seismic moment is 1.61 × 1018 N·m, which is equivalent to an Mw 6.07 earthquake. While the Jishishan earthquake ruptured a fault segment of approximately 20 km, it only released a small part of the seismic moment that was accumulated along the 220 km long Lajishan–Jishishan fault system. Groundwater resources are crucial to socio-economic development and the ecosystem, and over-extraction can cause the groundwater level to drop, deplete reserves, and trigger geological hazards like land subsidence. The North China Plain (NCP) has experienced both subsidence and groundwater depletion due to over-extraction in the past 70 years. In this study, we used MT-InSAR technology and ascending C-band Sentinel-1 SAR data from 2017 to 2023 to study land deformation in the junction area of Shijiazhuang–Baoding–Cangzhou–Hengshui. We identified multiple subsidence funnels with a maximum rate exceeding −150 mm/year and a total deformation surpassing 600 mm. Seasonal decomposition methods accurately separated seasonal signals in the time-series deformation and groundwater level data. An exponential function model applied to long-term deformation showed no significant decrease in subsidence in severely affected areas. By modeling seasonal deformation and seasonal groundwater levels, we determined the elastic skeletal storage coefficients (Ske) to be in the range of 1.02 × 10−3~6.53 × 10−3 in subsidence areas. We obtained the spatiotemporal evolution of the total groundwater storage (TGWS), irreversible ground storage (IGWS), and recoverable ground storage (RGWS). The TGWS and IGWS decreased annually while the RGWS increased, which is attributable to the implementation of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project (SNWDP) and the issuance of groundwater withdrawal policies in the NCP. Landslides, resulting from disturbances in slope equilibrium, pose a significant threat to landscapes, infrastructure, and human life. Triggered by factors such as intense precipitation, seismic activities, or volcanic eruptions, these events can cause extensive damage and endanger nearby communities. A comprehensive understanding of landslide characteristics, including spatio-temporal patterns, dimensions, and morphology, is vital for effective landslide disaster management. Existing remote sensing approaches mostly use either optical or synthetic aperture radar sensors. Integrating information from both these types of sensors promises greater accuracy for identifying and locating landslides. This study proposes a novel approach, the ML-LaDeCORsat (Machine Learning-based coseismic Landslide Detection using Combined Optical and Radar Satellite Imagery), that integrates freely available Sentinel-1, Palsar-2, and Sentinel-2 imagery data in Google Earth Engine (GEE). The approach also integrates relevant spectral indices and suitable bands used in a machine learning-based classification of coseismic landslides. The approach includes a robust and reproducible training and validation strategy and allows one to choose between five classifiers (CART, Random Forest, GTB, SVM, and Naive Bayes). Using landslides from four different earthquake case studies, we demonstrate the superiority of our approach over existing solutions in coseismic landslide identification and localization, providing a GTB-based detection accuracy of 87–92%. ML-LaDeCORsat can be adapted to other landslide events (GEE script is provided). Transfer learning experiments proved that our model can be applied to other coseismic landslide events without the need for additional training data. With the increasing availability of satellite monitoring data, the demand for storage and computational resources for updating the results of monitoring the surface subsidence in a mining area continues to rise. Sequential adjustment (SA) models are considered effective for rapidly updating time series interferometry synthetic aperture radar (TS-InSAR) measurements. However, the accuracy of surface subsidence values estimated through traditional sequential adjustment is highly sensitive to abnormal observations or prior information on anomalies. Moreover, the surface subsidence associated with mining exhibits nonlinear and large gradient characteristics, making general InSAR methods challenging for obtaining reliable monitoring results. In this study, we employ the phase unwrapping network (PUNet) to obtain unwrapped values of differential interferograms. To mitigate the impact of abnormal errors in the near real-time small baseline subset InSAR (SBAS-InSAR) sequential updating process in mining areas, a robust sequential adjustment method based on M-estimation is proposed to estimate the temporal deformation parameters by using the equivalent weight model. Using a coal backfilling mining face in Shanxi, China, as the study area and the Sentinel-1 SAR dataset, we comprehensively evaluate the performance of unwrapping methods and subsidence time series estimation techniques and evaluate the effect of filling mining on surface subsidence control. The results are validated using leveling measurements within the study area. The relative error of the proposed method is less than 5%, which can meet the requirements of monitoring the surface subsidence in mining areas. The method proposed in this study not only enhances computational efficiency but also addresses the issue of underestimation encountered by InSAR methods in mining area applications. Synthetic aperture radar tomography (TomoSAR) is an extension of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging. It introduces the synthetic aperture principle into the elevation direction to achieve three-dimensional (3-D) reconstruction of the observed target. Compressive sensing (CS) is a favorable technology for sparse elevation recovery. However, for the non-sparse elevation distribution of the forested areas, if CS is selected to reconstruct it, it is necessary to utilize some orthogonal bases to first represent the elevation reflectivity sparsely. The iterative adaptive approach (IAA) is a non-parametric algorithm that enables super-resolution reconstruction with minimal snapshots, eliminates the need for hyperparameter optimization, and requires fewer iterations. This paper introduces IAA to tomographicinversion of the forested areas and proposes a novel multi-polarimetric-channel joint 3-D imaging method. The proposed method relies on the characteristics of the consistent support of the elevation distribution of different polarimetric channels and uses the L 2 -norm to constrain the IAA-based 3-D reconstruction of each polarimetric channel. Compared with typical spectral estimation (SE)-based algorithms, the proposed method suppresses the elevation sidelobes and ambiguity and, hence, improves the quality of the recovered 3-D image. Compared with the wavelet-based CS algorithm, it reduces computational cost and avoids the influence of orthogonal basis selection. In addition, in comparison to the IAA, it demonstrates greater accuracy in identifying the support of the elevation distribution in forested areas. The Baihetan reservoir region is characterized by complex geomorphology, significant altitude differences, and rugged terrain. Geological hazards in such areas are often characterized by high concealment, wide distribution, and difficulty in field investigation. Traditional identification techniques are unable to detect and monitor geological hazards on a large scale with high efficiency and accuracy. In recent decades, interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) techniques, such as small baseline subset InSAR (SBAS-InSAR), have been widely applied to landslide identification. However, due to factors such as vegetation and the degree of landslide deformation, single-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) still has certain limitations in detecting landslides. In this study, SBAS-InSAR was conducted based on ALOS-2 and Sentinel-1 ascending-descending images covering the Baihetan reservoir region. Deformation identification results were utilized to conduct a statistical analysis of the SAR detection performance and landslide characteristics, and the effect of vegetation on the detection effectiveness of different SAR bands was discussed. The study revealed that when surface vegetation coverage reaches a high degree, the percentage of areas with coverage greater than 0.6 is greater than 95%, the SAR coherence is mainly affected by vegetation thickness; the comparison of the difference change in the average coherence of the C/L bands among the four vegetation types shows that the ratio of the average coherence of the L-bands to the C-bands increases by a factor of three with the increase in thickness and the transition from crops to shrubs and trees. The results showed that the L-band has better detectability than the C-band in alpine-canyon terrain with vegetation coverage and complex vegetation composition. However, considering the high temporal resolution and accessibility of Sentinel-1 SAR data, it is still the main data choice for wide-area identification of landslides in the reservoir area, while other satellite-borne SAR data with different wavelengths and resolutions, such as ALOS, can be used to assist in the identification and monitoring of landslide hazards with significant magnitude of deformations and dense vegetation coverage. Therefore, the combined utilization of multi-band SAR data has the potential to enhance the dependability of landslide identification and monitoring, resulting in more accurate detection results. The imaging of high-speed high-squint synthetic aperture radar (HSHS-SAR), which is mounted on maneuvering platforms with curved trajectory, is a challenging task due to the existence of 3-D acceleration and the azimuth spatial variability of range migration and Doppler parameters. Although existing imaging algorithms based on linear range walk correction (LRWC) and nonlinear chirp scaling (NCS) can reduce the range–azimuth coupling of the frequency spectrum (FS) and the spatial variability of the Doppler parameter to some extent, they become invalid as the squint angle, speed, and resolution increase. Additionally, most of them ignore the effect of acceleration phase calibration (APC) on NCS, which should not be neglected as resolution increases. For these issues, a modified frequency nonlinear chirp scaling (MFNCS) algorithm is proposed in this paper. The proposed MFNCS algorithm mainly includes the following aspects. First, a more accurate approximation of range model (MAARM) is established to improve the accuracy of the instantaneous slant range history. Second, a preprocessing of the proposed algorithm based on the first range compression, LRWC, and a spatial-invariant APC (SIVAPC) is implemented to eliminate most of the effects of high-squint angle and 3-D acceleration on the FS. Third, a spatial-variant APC (SVAPC) is performed to remove azimuth spatial variability introduced by 3-D acceleration, and the range focusing is accomplished by the bulk range cell migration correction (BRCMC) and extended secondary range compression (ESRC). Fourth, the azimuth-dependent characteristics evaluation based on LRWC, SIVAPC, and SVAPC is completed to derive the MFNCS algorithm with fifth-order chirp scaling function for azimuth compression. Consequently, the final image is focused on the range time and azimuth frequency domain. The experimental simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. With a curved trajectory, HSHS-SAR imaging is carried out at a 50° geometric squint angle and 500 m × 500 m imaging width. The integrated sidelobe ratio and peak sidelobe ratio of the point targets at the scenario edges approach the theoretical values, and the range-azimuth resolution is 1.5 m × 3.0 m. Deformation along a subway rail network is related to the safe operation of the subway and the stability of construction facilities on the surface, making long-term deformation monitoring imperative. Long-term monitoring of surface deformation along the subway network and statistical analysis of the overall deformation situation are lacking in China. Therefore, targeting 35 Chinese cities whose subway mileage exceeds 50 km, we extracted their surface deformation along subway networks between 2018 and 2022, using spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry (InSAR) technology and Sentinel-1 satellite data. We verified the results with the continuous global navigation satellite system (GNSS) stations' data and found that the root mean square error (RMSE) of the InSAR results was 3.75 mm/year. Statistical analysis showed that ground subsidence along the subways was more prominent in Beijing, Tianjin, and other areas in the North China Plain, namely Kunming (which is dominated by karst landforms), as well as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Qingdao, and other coastal cities. In addition, an analysis revealed that the severity of surface subsidence correlated positively with a city's gross domestic product (GDP) with a Pearson correlation of 0.787, since the higher the GDP, the more frequent the construction and maintenance of subway, and the more commuters there are, which in turn exacerbates the disturbance to the surface. Additionally, the type of land cover also affects the ground deformation. Our findings provide a reference for constructing, operating, and maintaining the urban subway systems in China. As the demand for precise navigation of aircraft increases in modern society, researching high-precision, high-autonomy navigation systems is both theoretically valuable and practically significant. Because the inertial navigation system (INS) has systematic and random errors, its output information diverges. Therefore, it is necessary to combine them with other navigation systems for real-time compensation and correction of these errors. The SAR matching positioning and navigation system uses synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image matching for platform positioning and compensates for the drift caused by errors in the inertial measurement unit (IMU). Images obtained by SAR are matched with digital landmark data, and the platform's position is calculated based on the SAR imaging geometry. However, SAR matching positioning faces challenges due to seasonal variations in SAR images, the need for typical landmarks for matching, and the lack of elevation information in two-dimensional SAR image matching. This paper proposes an airborne platform positioning method based on interferometric SAR (InSAR) interferogram matching. InSAR interferograms contain terrain elevation information, are less affected by seasonal changes, and provide higher positioning accuracy and robustness. By matching real-time InSAR-processed interferograms with simulated interferograms using a digital elevation model (DEM), three-dimensional position information about the matching points has been obtained. Subsequently, a three-dimensional positioning model for the platform has bene established using the unit line-of-sight vector decomposition method. In actual flight experiments using an FMCW Ku-band Interferometric SAR system, the proposed platform positioning framework demonstrated its ability to achieve precise positioning in the absence of signals from the global navigation satellite system (GNSS). The utilization of deep learning in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) has witnessed a recent surge owing to its remarkable feature extraction capabilities. Nonetheless, deep learning methodologies are often encumbered by inadequacies in labeled data and the protracted nature of training processes. To address these challenges and offer an alternative avenue for accurately extracting image features, this paper puts forth a novel and distinctive network dubbed the Capsule Broad Learning System Network for robust SAR ATR (CBLS-SARNET). This novel strategy is specifically tailored to cater to small-sample SAR ATR scenarios. On the one hand, we introduce a United Division Co-training (UDC) Framework as a feature filter, adeptly amalgamating CapsNet and the Broad Learning System (BLS) to enhance network efficiency and efficacy. On the other hand, we devise a Parameters Sharing (PS) network to facilitate secondary learning by sharing the weight and bias of BLS node layers, thereby augmenting the recognition capability of CBLS-SARNET. Experimental results unequivocally demonstrate that our proposed CBLS-SARNET outperforms other deep learning methods in terms of recognition accuracy and training time. Furthermore, experiments validate the generalization and robustness of our novel method under various conditions, including the addition of blur, Gaussian noise, noisy labels, and different depression angles. The emerging technology of rotating synthetic aperture (RSA) presents a promising solution for the development of lightweight, large-aperture, and high-resolution optical remote sensing systems in geostationary orbit. However, the rectangular shape of the primary mirror and the distinctive imaging mechanism involving the continuous rotation of the mirror lead to a pronounced decline in image resolution along the shorter side of the rectangle compared to the longer side. The resolution also exhibits periodic time-varying characteristics. To address these limitations and enhance image quality, we begin by analyzing the imaging mechanism of the RSA system. Subsequently, we propose a single-image super-resolution method that utilizes a rotated varied-size window attention mechanism instead of full attention, based on the Vision Transformer architecture. We employ a two-stage training methodology for the network, where we pre-train it on images masked with stripe-shaped masks along the shorter side of the rectangular pupil. Following that, we fine-tune the network using unmasked images. Through the strip-wise mask sampling strategy, this two-stage training approach effectively circumvents the interference of lower confidence (clarity) information and outperforms training the network from scratch using the unmasked degraded images. Our digital simulation and semi-physical imaging experiments demonstrate that the proposed method achieves satisfactory performance. In recent years, jamming strategies for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) pertaining to target detection and identification, such as the creation of false targets, electromagnetic (EM) deception, and signal spoofing, have been increasingly emphasized. Distinct from traditional SAR jamming approaches, the introduction of an innovative artificial material cloak in SAR target jamming presents augmented capabilities. These methods demonstrate a proficient redirection of incident EM waves in specific or arbitrary directions, effectively masking the vital information linked to critical targets. This study introduces a broadband SAR target jamming system employing an information metasurface that incorporates intelligent information processing algorithms in conjunction with a space-time-coding digital metasurface, endowing it with the capacity to adeptly modulate incident EM waves. This integration facilitates a versatile approach to jamming, enabling the deployment of multi-mode protective measures against critical targets. The conducted simulation and experiment results validate the system's ability to adjustably produce EM deception and generate multiple false targets independently of the SAR system. The outcomes of this research significantly advance the practicality of SAR protection strategies, pushing the boundaries toward more dynamic, broadband, and controllable scenarios, thereby substantially improving the concealment of critical targets in highly sensitive conflict areas. Frequency synchronization error, as one of the inevitable technical challenges in distributed synthetic aperture radar (SAR), has different impacts on different SAR systems. Multi-monostatic SAR is a typical distributed configuration where frequency synchronization errors are tiny in distributed airborne and low earth orbit (LEO) SAR systems. However, due to the long time delay and long synthetic aperture time, the imaging performance of a multi-monostatic geosynchronous (GEO) SAR system is affected by frequency oscillator errors. In this paper, to investigate the frequency synchronization problem in this configuration, we firstly model the echo signals with the frequency synchronization errors, which can be divided into fixed frequency errors and random phase noise. Secondly, we talk about the impacts of the two kinds of errors on imaging performance. To solve the problem, we thirdly propose an autofocus back-projection (ABP) algorithm, which adopts the coordinate descent method and iteratively adjusts the phase error estimation until the image reaches its maximum sharpness. Based on the characteristics of the frequency synchronization errors, we further propose the Node ABP (NABP) algorithm, which greatly reduces the amount of storage and computation compared to the ABP algorithm. The internal waves in the South China Sea are highly correlated with the tidal currents in the Luzon Strait, which makes it possible to establish an internal wave prediction model based on internal wave kinematics. However, the kinematic model requires the input of the exact location and time of the initial internal wave for which the generation mechanism of internal waves in the northern South China Sea must be well understood. By analyzing the internal wave field in the northern South China Sea (SCS) simulated using the MIT General Circulation Model (MITgcm) and observations from satellite synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and mooring temperature–salinity–depth (TSD) chains, the source regions and propagation initiation times of internal waves are identified for three typical tidal phases, i.e., the diurnal-tide-dominated phase (DTP), transition tide phase (TTP), and semidiurnal-tide-dominated phase (STP). The generation procedures of Type A and Type B internal waves are discussed in detail with those data. The present study reveals that Type A and Type B waves are generated at the eastern and western ridges, respectively, and both commence their westward propagation at the peak of the eastward tidal flow. The dynamics of lee waves and the resonance effect with double ridges constitute the generation mechanisms of internal waves in the northern SCS. Combined with varying configurations of tidal conditions, topography, and stratification, the generation procedures of Type A and Type B waves in the DTP, TTP, and STP are elucidated with the generation mechanism in a unified and self-consistent way. In short, during DTP, weaker A waves alternate with weaker B waves each day; during TTP, strong A waves and strong B waves appear alternately every day; and there are two weak A waves per day during the STP. Although graph convolutional networks have found application in polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) image classification tasks, the available approaches cannot operate on multiple graphs, which hinders their potential to generalize effective feature representations across different datasets. To overcome this limitation and achieve robust PolSAR image classification, this paper proposes a novel end-to-end cross-level interaction graph U-Net (CLIGUNet), where weighted max-relative spatial convolution is proposed to enable simultaneous learning of latent features from batch input. Moreover, it integrates weighted adjacency matrices, derived from the symmetric revised Wishart distance, to encode polarimetric similarity into weighted max-relative spatial graph convolution. Employing end-to-end trainable residual transformers with multi-head attention, our proposed cross-level interactions enable the decoder to fuse multi-scale graph feature representations, enhancing effective features from various scales through a deep supervision strategy. Additionally, multi-scale dynamic graphs are introduced to expand the receptive field, enabling trainable adjacency matrices with refined connectivity relationships and edge weights within each resolution. The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-borne video synthetic aperture radar (SAR) possesses the characteristic of having high-continuous-frame-rate imaging, which is conducive to the real-time monitoring of ground-moving targets. The real-time imaging-processing system for UAV-borne video SAR (ViSAR) requires miniaturization, low power consumption, high frame rate, and high-resolution imaging. In order to achieve high-frame-rate real-time imaging on limited payload-carrying platforms, this study proposes a miniaturization design of a high-integration UAV-borne ViSAR real-time imaging-processing component (MRIPC). The proposed design integrates functions such as broadband signal generation, high-speed real-time sampling, and real-time SAR imaging processing on a single-chip FPGA. The parallel access mechanism using multiple sets of high-speed data buffers increases the data access throughput and solves the problem of data access bandwidth. The range-Doppler (RD) algorithm and map-drift (MD) algorithm are optimized using parallel multiplexing, achieving a balance between computing speed and hardware resources. The test results have verified that our proposed component is effective for the real-time processing of 2048 × 2048 single-precision floating-point data points to realize a 5 Hz imaging frame rate and 0.15 m imaging resolution, satisfying the requirements of real-time ViSAR-imaging processing. The assessment of forest structural parameters is crucial for understanding carbon storage, habitat suitability, and timber stock. However, the labor-intensive and expensive nature of field measurements, coupled with inadequate sample sizes for large-scale modeling, poses challenges. To address the forest structure parameters in the Western Tianshan Mountains, this study used UAV-LiDAR to gather extensive sample data. This approach was enhanced by integrating Sentinel satellite and topographic data and using a Bayesian-Random Forest model to estimate forest canopy height, average height, density, and aboveground biomass (AGB). Validation against independent LiDAR-derived samples confirmed the model's high accuracy, with coefficients of determination (R2) and root mean square errors (RMSE) indicating strong predictive performance (R2 = 0.63, RMSE = 5.06 m for canopy height; R2 = 0.64, RMSE = 2.88 m for average height; R2 = 0.68, RMSE = 62.84 for density; and R2 = 0.59, RMSE = 29.71 Mg/ha for AGB). Notably, the crucial factors include DEM, Sentinel-1 (VH and VV backscatter in dB), and Sentinel-2 (B6, B8A, and B11 bands). These factors contribute significantly to the modeling of forest structure. This technology aims to expedite and economize forest surveys while augmenting the range of forest parameters, especially in remote and rugged terrains. Surface water is a vital component of the Earth's water cycle and characterizing its dynamics is essential for understanding and managing our water resources. Satellite-based remote sensing has been used to monitor surface water dynamics, but cloud cover can obscure surface observations, particularly during flood events, hindering water identification. The fusion of optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data leverages the advantages of both sensors to provide accurate surface water maps while increasing the temporal density of unobstructed observations for monitoring surface water spatial dynamics. This paper presents a method for generating dense time series of surface water observations using optical–SAR sensor fusion and gap filling. We applied this method to data from the Copernicus Sentinel-1 and Landsat 8 satellite data from 2019 over six regions spanning different ecological and climatological conditions. We validated the resulting surface water maps using an independent, hand-labeled dataset and found an overall accuracy of 0.9025, with an accuracy range of 0.8656–0.9212 between the different regions. The validation showed an overall false alarm ratio (FAR) of 0.0631, a probability of detection (POD) of 0.8394, and a critical success index (CSI) of 0.8073, indicating that the method generally performs well at identifying water areas. However, it slightly underpredicts water areas with more false negatives. We found that fusing optical and SAR data for surface water mapping increased, on average, the number of observations for the regions and months validated in 2019 from 11.46 for optical and 55.35 for SAR to 64.90 using both, a 466% and 17% increase, respectively. The results show that the method can effectively fill in gaps in optical data caused by cloud cover and produce a dense time series of surface water maps. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is an important tool for observing the oceanic internal wave phenomenon. However, owing to the unstable imaging quality of SAR on oceanic internal waves, the texture details of internal wave images are usually unclear, which is not conducive to the subsequent applications of the images. To cope with this problem, a texture enhancement method for oceanic internal wave SAR images is proposed in this paper, which is based on non-local mean (NLM) filtering and texture layer enhancement (TLE). Since the strong speckle noise commonly present in internal wave images is simultaneously enhanced during texture enhancement, resulting in degraded image quality, NLM filtering is first performed to suppress speckle noise. Then, the denoised image is decomposed into the structure layer and the texture layer, and a texture layer enhancement method oriented to the texture characteristics of oceanic internal waves is proposed and applied. Finally, the enhanced texture layer and the structure layer are combined to reconstruct the final enhanced image. Experiments are conducted based on the Gaofen-3 real SAR data, and the results demonstrate that the proposed method performs well in suppressing speckle noise, maintaining overall image brightness, and enhancing internal wave texture details. Land cover classification using high-resolution Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) images obtained from satellites is a challenging task. While deep learning algorithms have been extensively studied for PolSAR image land cover classification, the performance is severely constrained due to the scarcity of labeled PolSAR samples and the limited domain acceptance of models. Recently, the emergence of the Segment Anything Model (SAM) based on the vision transformer (VIT) model has brought about a revolution in the study of specific downstream tasks in computer vision. Benefiting from its millions of parameters and extensive training datasets, SAM demonstrates powerful capabilities in extracting semantic information and generalization. To this end, we propose a dual-stream feature extraction network based on SAM, i.e., BSDSNet. We change the image encoder part of SAM to a dual stream, where the ConvNext image encoder is utilized to extract local information and the VIT image encoder is used to extract global information. BSDSNet achieves an in-depth exploration of semantic and spatial information in PolSAR images. Additionally, to facilitate a fine-grained amalgamation of information, the SA-Gate module is employed to integrate local–global information. Compared to previous deep learning models, BSDSNet's impressive ability to represent features is akin to a versatile receptive field, making it well suited for classifying PolSAR images across various resolutions. Comprehensive evaluations indicate that BSDSNet achieves excellent results in qualitative and quantitative evaluation when performing classification tasks on the AIR-PolSAR-Seg dataset and the WHU-OPT-SAR dataset. Airborne array-interferometric synthetic aperture radar (array-InSAR), one of the implementation methods of tomographic SAR (TomoSAR), has the advantages of all-time, all-weather, high consistency, and exceptional timeliness. As urbanization continues to develop, the utilization of array-InSAR data for building detection holds significant application value. Existing methods, however, face challenges in terms of automation and detection accuracy, which can impact the subsequent accuracy and quality of building modeling. On the other hand, deep learning methods are still in their infancy in SAR point cloud processing. Existing deep learning methods do not adapt well to this problem. Therefore, we propose a Position-Feature Attention Network (PFA-Net), which seamlessly integrates positional encoding with point transformer for SAR point clouds building target segmentation tasks. Experimental results show that the proposed network is better suited to handle the inherent characteristics of SAR point clouds, including high noise levels and multiple scattering artifacts. And it achieves more accurate segmentation results while maintaining computational efficiency and avoiding errors associated with manual labeling. The experiments also investigate the role of multidimensional features in SAR point cloud data. Tidal flats are some of the most dynamic coastal environments in the world, where traditional coastal mapping and monitoring provide insufficient temporal resolution to reliably map channels and sand flats. Satellite-based Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) enables regular cloud-penetrating detection of water flowing through channels within the tidal flats, referred to as tidal channels. This paper presents a method for detecting a path through tidal channels, using satellite imagery, that supports our understanding and safe exploitation of this valuable coastal environment. This approach is the first proposed to identify navigable paths in all conditions, with SAR images susceptible to variation due to weather and tidal conditions. Tidal channels are known to vary in SAR presentation, and we find that tidal flat presentation is also influenced by conditions. The most influential factor is the wind, with high winds causing an inversion in how both tidal flats and tidal channels present in SAR images. The presented method for the automatic detection of tidal channels accounts for this variability by using previous channel paths as a reference to reliably correct imagery and detect the latest path. The final algorithm produces paths with minor errors in 17.6% of images; the error rate increases to 71.7%, with an almost tenfold increase in errors, when the SAR image and paths are not adjusted to account for conditions. This capability has been used to support the Nith Inshore Rescue in attending call-outs from their base in Glencaple, UK, while the insights from monitoring tidal channels for a year demonstrate how periods of high river flow preceded major changes in the channel path. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a high-resolution imaging sensor commonly mounted on platforms such as airplanes and satellites for widespread use. In complex electromagnetic environments, radio frequency interference (RFI) severely degrades the quality of SAR images due to its widely varying bandwidth and numerous unknown emission sources. Although traditional deep learning-based methods have achieved remarkable results by directly processing SAR images as visual ones, there is still considerable room for improvement in their performance due to the wide coverage and high intensity of RFI. To address these issues, this paper proposes the fusion of segmentation and inpainting networks (FuSINet) to suppress SAR RFI in the time-frequency domain. Firstly, to weaken the dominance of RFI in SAR images caused by high-intensity interference, a simple CCN-based network is employed to learn and segment the RFI. This results in the removal of most of the original interference, leaving blanks that allow the targets to regain dominance in the overall image. Secondly, considering the wide coverage characteristic of RFI, a U-former network with global information capture capabilities is utilized to learn the content covered by the interference and fill in the blanks created by the segmentation network. Compared to the traditional Transformer, this paper enhances its global information capture capabilities through shift-windows and down-sampling layers. Finally, the segmentation and inpainting networks are fused together through a weighted parameter for joint training. This not only accelerates the learning speed but also enables better coordination between the two networks, leading to improved RFI suppression performance. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the substantial performance enhancement of the proposed FuSINet. Compared to the PISNet+, the proposed attention mechanism achieves a 2.49 dB improvement in peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR). Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) enables precise object localization and imaging, which has propelled the rapid development of algorithms for maritime ship identification and detection. However, most current deep learning-based algorithms tend to increase network depth to improve detection accuracy, which may result in the loss of effective features of the target. In response to this challenge, this paper innovatively proposes an object-enhanced network, OE-YOLO, designed specifically for SAR ship detection. Firstly, we input the original image into an improved CFAR detector, which enhances the network's ability to localize and perform object extraction by providing more information through an additional channel. Additionally, the Coordinate Attention mechanism (CA) is introduced into the backbone of YOLOv7-tiny to improve the model's ability to capture spatial and positional information in the image, thereby alleviating the problem of losing the position of small objects. Furthermore, to enhance the model's detection capability for multi-scale objects, we optimize the neck part of the original model to integrate the Asymptotic Feature Fusion (AFF) network. Finally, the proposed network model is thoroughly tested and evaluated using publicly available SAR image datasets, including the SAR-Ship-Dataset and HRSID dataset. In comparison to the baseline method YOLOv7-tiny, OE-YOLO exhibits superior performance with a lower parameter count. In synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging, intelligent object detection methods are facing significant challenges in terms of model robustness and application security, which are posed by adversarial examples. The existing adversarial example generation methods for SAR object detection can be divided into two main types: global perturbation attacks and local perturbation attacks. Due to the dynamic changes and irregular spatial distribution of SAR coherent speckle backgrounds, the attack effectiveness of global perturbation attacks is significantly reduced by coherent speckle. In contrast, by focusing on the image objects, local perturbation attacks achieve targeted and effective advantages over global perturbations by minimizing interference from the SAR coherent speckle background. However, the adaptability of conventional local perturbations is limited because they employ a fixed size without considering the diverse sizes and shapes of SAR objects under various conditions. This paper presents a framework for region-adaptive local perturbations (RaLP) specifically designed for SAR object detection tasks. The framework consists of two modules. To address the issue of coherent speckle noise interference in SAR imagery, we develop a local perturbation generator (LPG) module. By filtering the original image, this module reduces the speckle features introduced during perturbation generation. It then superimposes adversarial perturbations in the form of local perturbations on areas of the object with weaker speckles, thereby reducing the mutual interference between coherent speckles and adversarial perturbation. To address the issue of insufficient adaptability in terms of the size variation in local adversarial perturbations, we propose an adaptive perturbation optimizer (APO) module. This optimizer adapts the size of the adversarial perturbations based on the size and shape of the object, effectively solving the problem of adaptive perturbation size and enhancing the universality of the attack. The experimental results show that RaLP reduces the detection accuracy of the YOLOv3 detector by 29.0%, 29.9%, and 32.3% on the SSDD, SAR-Ship, and AIR-SARShip datasets, respectively, and the model-to-model and dataset-to-dataset transferability of RaLP attacks are verified. The L band frequency shows high sensitivity to sea surface salinity. More stable brightness temperature (TB) measurements are required for L-band radiometers to reduce salinity retrieval errors than for high-frequency radiometers. Due to the complexity of L-band synthetic aperture radiometers, a carefully selected cold-sky target should be viewed using an L-band synthetic aperture radiometer for the purpose of absolute TB calibration since the celestial sky is relatively well characterized and stable in the L band. A novel, effective cold-sky calibration strategy is presented in this paper. The strategy of cold-sky calibration of the synthetic aperture radiometer is applied when and where the antenna main lobe points to the 'flat' celestial sky, and the impact of each type of foreign source, such as the sun or moon, on visibility values should be minimized in the meantime. Additionally, antenna thermal stability is also considered, which can cause antenna deformation, and the antenna patterns are affected. A high-precision and high-fidelity simulator is built for the cold-sky calibration optimized strategy. The orbital beta angle is introduced to characterize the variation in space environment temperatures. A planet that is considered spherical in shape requires significantly less computation than an ellipsoid one in the simulator. The trade-off study results for the planet shape assumption in the cold-sky calibration simulator are presented. Finally, the calibration uncertainty and performance are assessed. Wideband interference (WBI) can significantly reduce the image quality and interpretation accuracy of synthetic aperture radar (SAR). To eliminate the negative effects of WBI on SAR, we propose a novel end-to-end data-driven approach to mitigate WBI. Specifically, the WBI is mitigated by an explicit function called WBI mitigation–generative adversarial network (WBIM-GAN), mapping from an input WBI-corrupted echo to its properly WBI-free echo. WBIM-GAN comprises a WBI mitigation network and a target echo discriminative network. The WBI mitigation network incorporates a deep residual network to enhance the performance of WBI mitigation while addressing the issue of gradient saturation in the deeper layers. Simultaneously, the class activation mapping technique fully demonstrates that the WBI mitigation network can localize the WBI region rather than the target echo. By utilizing the PatchGAN architecture, the target echo discriminative network can capture the local texture and statistical features of target echoes, thus improving the effectiveness of WBI mitigation. Before applying the WBIM-GAN, the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) converts SAR echoes into a time–frequency domain (TFD) to better characterize WBI features. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images are widely utilized in the field of remote sensing. However, there is a limited body of literature specifically addressing the compression of SAR learning images. To address the escalating volume of SAR image data for storage and transmission, which necessitates more effective compression algorithms, this paper proposes a novel framework for compressing SAR images. Experimental validation is performed using a representative low-resolution Sentinel-1 dataset and the high-resolution QiLu-1 dataset. Initially, we introduce a novel two-stage transformation-based approach aimed at suppressing the low-frequency components of the input data, thereby achieving a high information entropy and minimizing quantization losses. Subsequently, a quality map guidance image compression algorithm is introduced, involving the fusion of the input SAR images with a target-aware map. This fusion involves convolutional transformations to generate a compact latent representation, effectively exploring redundancies between focused and non-focused areas. To assess the algorithm's performance, experiments are carried out on both the low-resolution Sentinel-1 dataset and the high-resolution QiLu-1 dataset. The results indicate that the low-frequency suppression algorithm significantly outperforms traditional processing algorithms by 3–8 dB when quantifying the input data, effectively preserving image features and improving image performance metrics. Accurate retrieval of forest above ground biomass (AGB) based on full-polarization synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) data is still challenging for complex surface regions with fluctuating terrain. In this study, the three-step process of radiometric terrain correction (RTC), which includes polarization orientation angle correction (POAC), effective scattering area correction (ESAC), and angular variation effect correction (AVEC), is adopted as the technical framework. In the ESAC stage, a normalized correction factor is introduced based on local incidence angle and radar incidence angle to achieve accurate correction of PolSAR data information and improve the inversion accuracy of forest AGB. In order to verify the validity and robustness of this research method, the full-polarization SAR data of ALOS-2 and the ground measured AGB data collected in the Saihanba research area in 2020 were used for experiments. Our findings revealed that in the ESAC phase, the introduction of the normalized correction factor can effectively eliminate the ESA phenomenon and improve the correlation coefficients of the backscatter coefficient and AGB. Taking the data of 25 July 2020 as an example, ESAC increases the correlation coefficients between AGB and the backscattering coefficients of HH, HV, and VV polarization channels by 0.343, 0.296, and 0.382, respectively. Synthetic Aperture Ladar (SAL) is a sensor that combines laser detection technology with synthetic aperture technology to achieve ultra-high-resolution imaging. Due to its extremely short wavelength, SAL is more sensitive to motion errors. The micrometer-level motion will affect the target's azimuth focus. This article proposes an SAL motion compensation method based on Symmetric Triangular Linear Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave (STLFMCW) segmented interference, utilizing the characteristics of a triangular wave, to solve the problem of target azimuth defocusing. This article first establishes an STLFMCW echo signal model based on the SAL system under the influence of motion errors. Secondly, the radial velocity gradient along the azimuth direction is extracted using the triangular-wave-positive and -negative frequency modulation signals segmented interference method. Then, for the initial phase wrapping problem, the frequency spectral cross-correlation method is used to accurately estimate the initial radial velocity error. The radial velocity gradient is integrated along the azimuth to obtain the platform motion trajectory. Finally, the compensation functions are constructed to complete the echo Range Cell Migration (RCM) correction and residual phase compensation, resulting in a focused SAL image. This article verifies the practical effect of this method in eliminating motion errors using only one-period STLFMCW signal through simulation and real experiments. The quantitative results show that compared with the traditional method, the proposed method reduces the azimuth Peak Sidelobe Ratio (PSLR) by 8dB and the Integrated Sidelobe Ratio (ISLR) by 9 dB. The bistatic Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) system can overcome the physical limitations imposed by the baseline of monostatic dual-antenna InSAR. It provides greater flexibility and can enhance elevation measurement accuracy through a well-designed baseline configuration. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with bistatic InSAR, having relatively low cost and high flexibility, are useful for mapping and land resource exploration. However, due to challenges including spatiotemporal synchronization and motion errors, there are limited reports on UAV-borne bistatic InSAR. This paper proposes a comprehensive method for processing data from small UAV-borne bistatic InSAR by integrating two-way synchronization chain signals. The proposed method includes compensation for time and phase synchronization errors, trajectory refinement with synchronized chain and Position and Orientation System (POS) data, high-precision bistatic InSAR imaging, and interferometric processing. Height inversion results based on the proposed method are also provided, which demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in improving the accuracy of interferometric measurement at calibration points from 0.66 m to 0.42 m. Global food security and nutrition is suffering from unprecedented challenges. To reach a world without hunger and malnutrition by implementing precision agriculture, satellite remote sensing plays an increasingly important role in field crop monitoring and management. Alfalfa, a global widely distributed forage crop, requires more attention to predict its yield and quality traits from satellite data since it supports the livestock industry. Meanwhile, there are some key issues that remain unknown regarding alfalfa remote sensing from optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data. Using Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 satellite data, this study developed, compared, and further integrated new optical- and SAR-based satellite models for improving alfalfa yield and quality traits prediction, i.e., crude protein (CP), acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), and neutral detergent fiber digestibility (NDFD). Meanwhile, to better understand the physical mechanism of alfalfa optical remote sensing, a unified hybrid leaf area index (LAI) retrieval scheme was developed by coupling the PROSAIL radiative transfer model, spectral response function of the desired optical satellite, and a random forest (RF) model, denoted as a scalable optical satellite-based LAI retrieval framework. Compared to optical vegetation indices (VIs) that only capture canopy information, the results indicate that LAI had the highest correlation (r = 0.701) with alfalfa yield due to its capacity in delivering the vegetation structure characteristics. For alfalfa quality traits, optical chlorophyll VIs presented higher correlations than LAI. On the other hand, LAI did not provide a significant additional contribution for predicting alfalfa parameters in the RF developed optical prediction model using VIs as inputs. In addition, the optical-based model outperformed the SAR-based model for predicting alfalfa yield, CP, and NDFD, while the SAR-based model showed better performance for predicting ADF and NDF. The integration of optical and SAR data contributed to higher accuracy than either optical or SAR data separately. Compared to a traditional embedded integration approach, the combination of multisource heterogeneous optical and SAR satellites was optimized by multiple linear regression (yield: R2 = 0.846 and RMSE = 0.0354 kg/m2; CP: R2 = 0.636 and RMSE = 1.57%; ADF: R2 = 0.559 and RMSE = 1.926%; NDF: R2 = 0.58 and RMSE = 2.097%; NDFD: R2 = 0.679 and RMSE = 2.426%). The frequent occurrence of global flood disasters leads to millions of people falling into poverty each year, which poses immense pressure on governments and hinders social development. Therefore, providing more data support for flood disaster detection is of paramount importance. To facilitate the development of water body detection algorithms, we create the DaliWS dataset for water segmentation, which contains abundant pixel-level annotations, and consists of high spatial resolution SAR images collected from the GaoFen-3 (GF-3) satellite. For comprehensive analysis, extensive experiments are conducted on the DaliWS dataset to explore the performance of the state-of-the-art segmentation models, including FCN, SegNeXt, U-Net, and DeeplabV3+, and investigate the impact of different polarization modes on water segmentation. Additionally, to probe the generalization of our dataset, we further evaluate the models trained with the DaliWS dataset, on publicly available water segmentation datasets. Through detailed analysis of the experimental results, we establish a valuable benchmark and provide usage guidelines for future researchers working with the DaliWS dataset. The experimental results demonstrate the F1 scores of FCN, SegNeXt, U-Net, and DeeplabV3+ on the dual-polarization data of DaliWS dataset reach to 90.361%, 90.192%, 92.110%, and 91.199%, respectively, and these four models trained using the DaliWS dataset exhibit excellent generalization performance on the public dataset, which further confirms the research value of our dataset. The use of Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) in autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) surveys has found applications in archaeological searches, underwater mine detection and wildlife monitoring. However, the easy confusability of natural objects with the target object leads to high false positive rates. To improve detection, the combination of SAS and optical images has recently attracted attention. While SAS data provides a large-scale survey, optical information can help contextualize it. This combination creates the need to match multimodal, optical–acoustic image pairs. The two images are not aligned, and are taken from different angles of view and at different times. As a result, challenges such as the different resolution, scaling and posture of the two sensors need to be overcome. In this research, motivated by the information gain when using both modalities, we turn to statistical exploration for feature analysis to investigate the relationship between the two modalities. In particular, we propose an entropic method for recognizing matching multimodal images of the same object and investigate the probabilistic dependency between the images of the two modalities based on their conditional probabilities. The results on a real dataset of SAS and optical images of the same and different objects on the seafloor confirm our assumption that the conditional probability of SAS images is different from the marginal probability given an optical image, and show a favorable trade-off between detection and false alarm rate that is higher than current benchmarks. In complex environments, the clutter statistical characteristics of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) are inconstant, and the constant detection performance of a false alarm rate (CFAR) detector based on a clutter statistical model is also hard to achieve. As a result, the overestimated threshold leads to a degradation in detection probability. To this end, this paper proposes a SAR ship detector different from CFAR detectors, which is independent of traditional clutter statistical distribution models and the probability of a false alarm (PFA). The proposed detector aims to raise the ship detection probability and alleviate interference from complex environments such as multi-target areas, shores, and breakwaters. It estimates clutter-truncated thresholds based on clutter intensity statistics (CIS). Firstly, three statistical parameters, including the mean, standard deviation, and maximum intensity of background clutter contaminated by outliers, are calculated; secondly, these parameters are utilized to estimate the clutter-truncated threshold using the novel CIS; and finally, the pixel under test is determined according to the CIS detection rule. Compared with CFAR-based algorithms, CIS obtains a high probability of detection in complex environments. As for other aspects, the CIS detector is insensitive to the structure of the detection window, as well as the size. It is also computationally efficient due to its simple calculations. A novel compressive sensing (CS) synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) called AgileSAR has been proposed to increase swath width for sparse scenes while preserving azimuthal resolution. AgileSAR overcomes the limitation of the Nyquist sampling theorem so that it has a small amount of data and low system complexity. However, traditional CS optimization-based algorithms suffer from manual tuning and pre-definition of optimization parameters, and they generally involve high time and computational complexity for AgileSAR imaging. To address these issues, a pseudo- L 0 -norm fast iterative shrinkage algorithm network (pseudo- L 0 -norm FISTA-net) is proposed for AgileSAR imaging via the deep unfolding network in this paper. Firstly, a pseudo- L 0 -norm regularization model is built by taking an approximately fair penalization rule based on Bayesian estimation. Then, we unfold the operation process of FISTA into a data-driven deep network to solve the pseudo- L 0 -norm regularization model. The network's parameters are automatically learned, and the learned network significantly increases imaging speed, so that it can improve the accuracy and efficiency of AgileSAR imaging. In addition, the nonlinearly sparsifying transform can learn more target details than the traditional sparsifying transform. An adequate fusion of the most significant salient information from multiple input channels is essential for many aerial imaging tasks. While multispectral recordings reveal features in various spectral ranges, synthetic aperture sensing makes occluded features visible. We present a first and hybrid (model- and learning-based) architecture for fusing the most significant features from conventional aerial images with the ones from integral aerial images that are the result of synthetic aperture sensing for removing occlusion. It combines the environment's spatial references with features of unoccluded targets that would normally be hidden by dense vegetation. Our method outperforms state-of-the-art two-channel and multi-channel fusion approaches visually and quantitatively in common metrics, such as mutual information, visual information fidelity, and peak signal-to-noise ratio. The proposed model does not require manually tuned parameters, can be extended to an arbitrary number and arbitrary combinations of spectral channels, and is reconfigurable for addressing different use cases. Ocean salinity is a pivotal aspect of the ocean dynamic environment. Spaceborne L-band radiometers, like SMOS, Aquarius, and SMAP, offer a comprehensive approach to mapping out large-scale ocean salinity patterns. As China prepares for the launch of the Chinese Ocean Salinity and Soil Moisture Mission (COSM), it is essential to delve into the intricacies of radio frequency interference (RFI) detection, localization, and mitigation. The L-band, in particular, is highly susceptible to RFI. COSM will carry not one but two advanced instruments: a 2-D L-band aperture synthesis microwave radiometer (LASMR) and a 1-D L-C-K band microwave imager combined active and passive (MICAP). This article delves into the current state of RFI research, particularly in recent years, and introduces a fusion method that integrates MICAP and LASMR for more accurate RFI detection, localization, and mitigation. This fusion method relies on an algorithm that constructs localization and intensity objective functions based on the principle of least squares. By optimizing these functions, we can pinpoint the precise location and intensity of RFI. The resulting minimum mitigation residual offers a blueprint for achieving optimal RFI detection, localization, and mitigation. The experimental results, achieved in a controlled anechoic chamber, confirm that this fusion method—when weighted by variance—boosts detection accuracy, refines localization precision, and minimizes residual mitigation errors compared with standalone MICAP or LASMR techniques. Ship wake detection using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery provides a way to obtain small marine ship information, but it often becomes unavailable and unreliable during a high sea state. Polarimetric information provides a potential way to solve this problem, which can enhance the ship target as well as the ship wake features. However, three challenges still exist in ship wake detection in polarimetric SAR imagery: the unwanted influences of bright and singular points on ship wake detection, the lack of performance analysis of wake detection by new-type polarimetric enhancement methods, and the difficulty of using the assessment criteria for ship wake detection. In this paper, we try to solve the above problems. Firstly, fully polarized SAR imagery of both ship turbulent and Kelvin wake is simulated based on the two-scale composite model, and the Polarimetric Whitening Filter (PWF) and Polarimetric Detection Optimization Filter (PDOF) are applied to the simulated fully polarized SAR imagery to enhance the ship wake features. Secondly, since the bright and singular points resulting from the ship echoes and the polarimetric enhancement methods may lead to misdetections, a logarithm process and z-score normalization pre-processing has been applied to the images. Then, a new assessment criterion for wake detection performance has been formulated, and the probability of missing detections (PMDs) and the probability of false alarms (PFAs) have been defined for two different requirements. And a Radon transform-based ship wake detection method for both ship turbulence and Kelvin wake has been carried out in horizontal–horizontal (HH), vertical–vertical (VV), horizontal–vertical (HV), PWF and PDOF SAR imagery. Finally, an analysis of the wake detection performance has been carried out. A space-borne remote sensing method was applied, validated, and demonstrated in a case study on the Samuel de Champlain Bridge in Montreal, Canada. High-resolution C-band radar satellite imagery was analyzed using the Persistent Scatterer Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar technique to derive bridge displacements and compare them against theoretical estimates. Multispectral and long-wave thermal infrared satellite imagery acquired during the InSAR observation period and historical environmental data were analyzed to provide context for the interpretation and understanding of InSAR results. Thermal deformation measurements compared well with their theoretical estimates based on known bridge geometry and ambient temperature data. Non-thermal deformation measurements gave no evidence of settlement during the 2-year monitoring period, as would normally be expected for a newly constructed bridge with its foundation on bedrock. The availability of environmental data obtained from multispectral and thermal infrared satellite imagery was found to be useful in providing context for the bridge stability assessment. Ambient temperature measurements from thermal infrared satellite imagery were found to be a suitable alternative in cases where data from in situ temperature sensors or nearby weather stations are not available or not fit for purpose. No strong correlation was found between the river conditions and bridge deformation results from the InSAR analysis; this is partly due to the fact that most of these effects act along the river flow in the north–south direction, to which the satellite sensor is not sensitive. Circular synthetic aperture radar (CSAR) possesses the capability of multi-angle observation, breaking through the geometric observation constraints of traditional strip SAR and holding the potential for three-dimensional imaging. Its sub-wavelength level of planar resolution, resulting from a long synthetic aperture, makes CSAR highly valuable in the field of high-precision mapping. However, the motion geometry of CSAR is more intricate compared to traditional strip SAR, demanding high precision from navigation systems. The accumulation of errors over the long synthetic aperture time cannot be overlooked. CSAR exhibits significant coupling between the range and azimuth directions, making traditional motion compensation methods based on linear SAR unsuitable for direct application in CSAR. The dynamic nature of flight, with its continuous changes in attitude, introduces a significant deformation error between the non-rigidly connected Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and the Global Positioning System (GPS). This deformation error makes it difficult to accurately obtain radar position information, resulting in imaging defocus. The research in this article uncovers a correlation between the deformation error and radial acceleration. Leveraging this insight, we propose utilizing radial acceleration to estimate residual motion errors. This paper delves into the analysis of Position and Orientation System (POS) errors, presenting a novel high-resolution CSAR motion compensation method based on airborne platform acceleration information. Once the system deformation parameters are calibrated using point targets, the deformation error can be directly calculated and compensated based on the acceleration information, ultimately resulting in the generation of a high-resolution image. In this paper, the effectiveness of the method is verified with airborne flight test data. This method can compensate for the deformation error and effectively improve the peak sidelobe ratio and integral sidelobe ratio of the target, thus improving image quality. The array interferometric synthetic aperture radar (Array InSAR) system resolves shadow issues by employing two scans in opposite directions, facilitating the acquisition of a comprehensive three-dimensional representation of the observed scene. The point clouds obtained from the two scans need to be transformed into the same coordinate system using registration techniques to create a more comprehensive visual representation. However, the two-point clouds lack corresponding points and exhibit distinct geometric distortions, thereby preventing direct registration. This paper analyzes the error characteristics of array InSAR point clouds and proposes a robust registration method for array InSAR point clouds in urban scenes. It represents the 3D information of the point clouds using images, with pixel positions corresponding to the azimuth and ground range directions. Pixel intensity denotes the average height of points within the pixel. The KAZE algorithm and enhanced matching approach are used to obtain the homonymous points of two images, subsequently determining the transformation relationship between them. Experimental results with actual data demonstrate that, for architectural elements within urban scenes, the relative angular differences of registered facades are below 0.5°. This paper presents a methodology to detect the coastal erosion and progradation effects in the 'Atrato River' delta, located in the Gulf of Urabá in Colombia, using SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) images. Erosion is the physical–mechanical loss of the soil that affects its functions and ecosystem services while producing a reduction in its productive capacity. Progradation is the deposition of layers in the basinward direction while moving coastward. Other studies have investigated these two phenomena using optical images, encountering difficulties due to the persistent presence of clouds in this region. In order to avoid the cloud effects, in this study, we used 16 Sentinel 1 SAR images with two different polarizations between 2016 and 2023. First, each image was rescaled from 0 to 255, then the image was despeckled by a deep learning (DL) model. Afterwards, a single RGB image was composed with the filtered polarizations. Next, a classifier with 99% accuracy based on Otsu's method was used to determine whether each pixel was water or not. Then, the classified image was registered to a reference one using Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF (ORB) descriptor. Finally, a multitemporal analysis was performed by comparing every image to the previous one to identify the studied phenomena, calculating areas. Also, all images were integrated to obtain a heatmap that showed the overall changes across eight years (2016–2023) in a single image. The multitemporal analysis performed found that the newly created mouth is the most active area for these processes, coinciding with other studies. In addition, a comparison of these findings with the Oceanic Niño Index (ONI) showed a relative delayed coupling to the erosion process and a coupling of progradation with dry and wet seasons. Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) and tomographic SAR measurement techniques are commonly used for the three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of complex areas, while the effectiveness of these methods relies on the interferometric coherence among SAR images with minimal angular disparities. Radargrammetry exploits stereo image matching to determine the spatial coordinates of corresponding points in two SAR images and acquire their 3D properties. The performance of the image matching process directly impacts the quality of the resulting digital surface model (DSM). However, the presence of speckle noise, along with dissimilar geometric and radiometric distortions, poses considerable challenges in achieving accurate stereo SAR image matching. To address these aforementioned challenges, this paper proposes a radargrammetric method based on the composite registration of multi-aspect SAR images. The proposed method combines coarse registration using scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) with precise registration using normalized cross-correlation (NCC) to achieve accurate registration between multi-aspect SAR images with large disparities. Furthermore, the multi-aspect 3D point clouds are merged using the proposed radargrammetric 3D imaging method, resulting in the 3D imaging of target scenes based on multi-aspect SAR images. For validation purposes, this paper presents a comprehensive 3D reconstruction of the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) using Ka-band airborne SAR images. It does not necessitate prior knowledge of the target and is applicable to the detailed 3D imaging of large-scale areas with complex structures. In comparison to other SAR 3D imaging techniques, it reduces the requirements for orbit control and radar system parameters.
