This paper summarizes records of Barefoot Amanita (Amanita vittadinii), known also as Vittadini‘s lepidella, a protected basidiomycete, in two Moravian towns, Olomouc and Uherské Hradiště. While the occurrence of Barefoot Amanita in Olomouc has been known since 2009, the first locality for Uherské Hradiště was found in 2017. The ecology of the species, its habitat and vegetation preferences, as well as the pitfalls of practical conservation of rare synanthropic macromycete species are commented herein.
