- Abstract
New transport technologies of the integrated transport system in the general chain of transport, related to the transportation of goods from the manufacturer to the customers are becoming a necessity to rationalize the overall economy and are directly affecting the competitive abilities, the access in the national economy and the international division of labor. The International multimodal transport of goods, due to the importance and complexity of its national and international economic systems, is known as a composite system, which provides a range of transport activities of direct or indirect participants, who make it possible the quick transportation of goods from the country of departure, which is located in a certain state, to the destination place, which is in another country, and all this activity is organized by one multimodal transport operator. In this paper I have emphasized that the national policies of the traffic and transport, which in the future will be part of the European system, should be coordinated and to follow the process of economic development and of the EU communication system (traffic), because the integration of the Kosovo state in the EU is conditioned, among others, with the creation of a new communication system (traffic) and the transport system. Therefore, the creation and development of a multimodal transport model are a prerequisite for connecting the conveyor system, which will connect the national trends of transport with the European transport system. FOOD waste , *PARTICLE analysis , *TENSILE strength , *ANALYTICAL chemistry , *PARTICLES , *PORTLAND cement - Abstract
The aim of this paper is to study the replacement of Portland cement by ceramic plates waste into mortar. The ceramic plate waste was milled and characterized through chemical analysis and particle size analysis. Then, it was elaborated mixtures in order to replace 5, 12 and 20 wt.% of Portland cement by ceramic plates waste. In addition, the consistency indices, water absorption, void index, specific mass, tensile strength in flexion and axial compression were determined for each mixture. The results showed that the ceramic plates waste are composed by of SiO2 (69.09 wt.%) and Al2O3 (15.4 wt.%). The replacement of 5 and 12 wt.% decreased the mortar porosity. The tensile strength in flexion assays showed an increase on this property. However, the axial compression tests presented a decrease of 0.9% and 2.5% for replacement of 5 and 12 wt.%. Compaction of hot mix asphalt after the laydown process is one of the critical steps of construction affecting the service performance of asphalt concrete. It is known that compaction is controlled by a number of mix design variables, i.e., binder type, gradation, asphalt content, and compaction temperature. In this paper, effects of mix design variables on the mechanical properties of hot mix asphalt are investigated based on laboratory compacted specimens. A continuum model is utilized to simulate the laboratory compaction using the Superpave gyratory compactor. The mechanical properties are estimated by fitting the model to laboratory compaction curves using a parameter estimation algorithm. Statistical analysis of variance was conducted to identify the significant design variables affecting the mechanical properties. It was found that gradation and asphalt content are the most influential mix design variables for the mechanical properties during compaction. Results also indicted that binder type is a statistically more significant variable for the mechanical properties than compaction temperature as indicted by the outcome of analyses. Introduction: Multidrug‑resistant bacterial infections limit available therapeutic options. Doxycycline is an old antibiotic from the tetracycline class that exhibits a wide antibacterial action, including Gram‑negative bacteria (GNB), and could be an alternative for the treatment of multidrug‑resistant (MDR) Enterobacteriaceae. The study aimed to systematically identify, evaluate, and summarize the results of studies related to outcomes of treatments for MDR‑GNB infections in patients treated with doxycycline. Methods: This review was conducted in four databases during weeks 41–52 of 2022: PubMed, Medline, Scopus, and Web of Science, from the earliest year available on each database to December 2022. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta‑Analysis guidelines were followed in conducting this study, and PICO was used for the research question of this review. Results: This scoping review found 8 retrospective studies that included 59 patients. Of these, 69% were treated for ventilator‑associated pneumonia (VAP), 27% for urinary tract infections, 2% for bloodstream infections, and 2% for wound infections, both of which were associated with VAP. The usual dosage of doxycycline was 100 mg intravenously or orally. Clinical and microbiologic improvements were achieved in 81.3% and 87% of all patients, respectively. The mortality rate was 17.3% and was exclusively due to VAP. Conclusions: Doxycycline showed promising results in this review; however, randomized clinical trials or prospective cohorts are recommended to demonstrate the efficacy of doxycycline in the treatment of MDR infections with GNB. It has always been in the public interest to know the reading habits of readers of various ages and levels of schooling, as well as their opinions with regard to the consumption of reading materials. Lately, researchers have given increased attention to digital texts. Although progress on these topics has been made as reported in published research, there is yet incomplete information regarding readers’ habits and opinions at university and professional levels. This study describes the self-reported habits of university students belonging to two disciplinary domains (Human Sciences and Economic and Business Sciences) regarding reading on paper or on digital media for three purposes: academic, entertainment, and information seeking. The results reveal that the readers’ preferences vary according to the three purposes. These readers reported using different media but had a clear preference for paper; they also reported distinguishing between cognitive processes (memory, comprehension, and learning), with the discipline to which they belonged having no radical effect on their preferences. All of this leads us to conclude that currently there exists a generation in transition, a ‘Gutenberg-Google’ generation, which still recognizes the relevance of paper, in particular for academic purposes

- Abstract
This paper focuses on the quilting sensibility of the American novelist, dramatist, and poet, Rachel Field, who as early as 1917 had begun to include quilting imagery in her writing Using Rachel Field's books as well as diaries, letters, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, and unpublished manuscripts found in the Radcliffe College Archives, the Stockbridge, Massachusetts Historical Society, and the archives of Lousiana's Northwestern State University, the author shows how Rachel Field developed a quilting idiom and explored the literary implications of quilting. Though Rachel Field never pretended to be an expert on the subject of quilts, she experimented with the terminology and ideas intrinsic to quilting until she perfected her understanding of the connection between the quilting and the writing process in the fine historical novel, Calico Bush. In effect, Calico Bush became Rachel Field's verbal interpretation of the quilt pattern Delectable Mountains. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The verses 208-224 of the comedy Amar después de la muerte have raised some textual controversies among Calderon’s scholars concerning the emendations of alcañomias and alcamonios and buxetas de perro, a collocation whose meaning is being disputed. This paper argues that buxetas de perro is not an error, but a linguistic variant inherited from the archetype: on one side, corpus evidence supports that its meaning was really ‘a strip of dog leather’ (an agujeta); on the other side, it is claimed that encodes /∫/, the well-known xexeo morisco. Conversely, an examination of alcamonios and alcañomias leads to their rejection, since they are probably misprints for alcamonías. Calderon’s scholars should be acquainted with linguistic variation in order not to slip unnecessary emendations, such as those discussed in this paper

18. Choreography of Expectation, Tones and Musical Indications within 'The Interlude of los instrumentos'

- Abstract
The topic of this paper is the link between music and the stimuli of expectations in the audience. In the selected interlude, published in 1663, this occurs from the song and dance that accompany it, and from the association between instruments and their different uses. Within the dramatic sphere the set of expectations depends on a choreography designed by the author, director, composer-interpreter, or on an arrangement of the three parts. Their purpose is to control the audience's emotive output from the musical signs. When a spectator hears sequences of sounds and manages to identify them, he is able to anticipate the next acoustical events. This phenomenon presents analogies at an argumentative level. However, one of the most relevant experiences related to expectation is surprise. This paper details how the musical signs in Los instrumentos create the effect of prediction and how it can be broken, showing the link between music and emotions.

- Abstract
The key problem of the ideology of transition is to build democratic institutions. Although, successfully overcoming the transition phase is the motto of all the post - socialist country, with full conviction can be said that the building of democratic institutions depends directly from the intellectual capacity of society. Whenever, when we talk about transition society many Balkan states alludes to the political sphere - economic, forgetting the key factor that forms the human capital - knowledge, awareness and education. Although, by the end of the 90 th century all Balkan states have adopted democratic system of government, but this process seem to be endless. Respectively, in this period almost all socialist countries supported democratic pluralism marked by international cooperation, namely the European Union and other international organizations. This resulted in international cooperation and assistance with the desire and the need for European integration, where Eastern European countries initiated the process of EU integration that encompassed with it the obligation of harmonization of legislation. Exactly, now these new democratic institutions are obliged to enforce laws and regulations with EU standards. From here we can see that the transition phase of these countries goes with more accelerated tempo than their human capital to implement the same reforms. Going through the transition process is not available without maturation and preparation of preliminary terrain, since every accelerated step resulst with democracy that has not yet reached adulthood. - Abstract
The subject treated in this research is very important, as it touches two elements at the same time, the immediate need to de-politicize the Public Administration and the requirement that emerges from the process of Macedonia's accession to the EU. The data show that politicization of Public Administration has reached a critical level, bypassing the employment of other ethnic communities and directly ignoring the legal provisions about equal representation arising from the Ohrid Agreement. For examination of the scientific research it is reviewed a proper academic literature, and other strategic documents of the Government. The reports content analysis of the EU helped us to further deepen the study. The daily press sources were not excluded in order to strengthen research thesis. The research gives a clear signal that such a functioning practice of Public Administration should be terminated and legal mechanisms for protection of communities should be incorporated in the legal regulations. One of the fundamental features in the design of rigid pavements is the rupture modulus, which value is obtained experimentally using a bending test and indicates the maximum load that a concrete beam can support. To determine this value is expensive and impractical since the tests require rather large stress values, there is always a risk of producing brittle fractures in the probes used. For this reason, it is proposed in this paper an implementation of a numerical estimation for the deformations due to the maximum load through a simple interpolation model that allows the generation of the stress/strain diagram using the only data available: the maximum load. The results show that it is possible to calculate the maximum deformation value in the beam previous to the failure. Also, it is possible to generate the stress/strain diagram and distinguish the elastic and elastoplastic areas of the concrete.

Inclement weather in Florida forced the space shuttle “Atlantis” to land at Edwards Air Force Base in southern California on June 22, 2007, passing near three infrasound stations and several hundred seismic stations in northern Mexico, southern California, and Nevada. The high signal-to-noise ratio, broad receiver coverage, and Atlantis’ positional information allow for the testing of infrasound propagation modeling capabilities through the atmosphere to regional distances. Shadow zones and arrival times are predicted by tracing rays that are launched at right angles to the conical shock front surrounding the shuttle through a standard climatological model as well as a global ground to space model. The predictions and observations compare favorably over much of the study area for both atmospheric specifications. To the east of the shuttle trajectory, there were no detections beyond the primary acoustic carpet. Infrasound energy was detected hundreds of kilometers to the west and northwest (NW) of the shuttle trajectory, consistent with the predictions of ducting due to the westward summer-time stratospheric jet. Both atmospheric models predict alternating regions of high and low ensonifications to the NW. However, infrasound energy was detected tens of kilometers beyond the predicted zones of ensonification, possibly due to uncertainties in stratospheric wind speeds. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The construction, visualization and stabilization of public problems require the mobilization of civil society groups concerned about these issues to actively engage in the demand for actions and policies. This paper explores the institutional campaigns against human trafficking and sexual exploitation in Spain between 2008 and 2017 and their role in helping to shape this issue as a matter of public concern. Our aim is to identify the ideological basis of these campaigns through their representations of predominant actors, which have been systematized to identify possible mistakes and to help determine more effective actions with a greater capacity for mobilization. We applied a mixed content analysis combined with a semiotic model to evaluate the presence or absence of the different actors and their relevance in each case. Several lines of discourse have been reiterated accross the 50 campaigns analysed: Curbing the demand for prostitution as a priority objective; the centrality of victims in the representations; the role of the consumer of paid sex as an accomplice to the crime; and the correlation between prostitution and human trafficking. We will also examine how these issues relate to the broader dispute on the status of prostitution in Spain. This will require a conceptual shift away from educational and social-oriented communication towards the structural causes, collective responsibility and transformative justice frameworks

The goal of the present work is to analyze the use of social networks as a tool for social empowerment by Spanish university students, and their perception of the university as an institution that contributes to the formation of a critical and active citizenship, that provides them with the relevant digital competences. The literature review shows possible discrepancies regarding the effect of new forms of digital communication in empowering young people, specially university students, as well as the existence of issues related to clarify this digital stage. Following, a typological analysis of the perception of university students regarding social information networks, social empowerment and the role of the university is presented. Using the data collected through a structured questionnaire of a sample of 236 students of social science degrees, an analysis of typologies is performed with the algorithm K Medias. Three clusters significantly different –labeled as «total sceptics», «dual moderates» and «pro-digitals»– are identified. Its prevalence and its characterization are explained: belief and behaviour profiles related to these beliefs. The paper concludes with several recommendations for future research regarding the perception of the students about the use of social networks as a tool for social transformation and the role of the university in this area

[EN]: Social laboratories, defined as experimental spaces for co-creation, have recently become the main centers of innovation. Medialabs are experimental laboratories of technologies and communication media which have co-evolved along with the digital society into mediation laboratories of citizen experimentation, observing a confluence of both models. in recent years, these centers have expanded within the higher education context, generating new forms of innovation and posing the question of how to measure the impact of such open spaces. This paper analyzes the origin and development of social laboratories in Spain. it first reviews their historical development from their antecedents in the 19th Century to the most recent initiatives. it focuses specifically on initiatives launched within the university context, highlighting their role as motors of innovation. Then, it presents the case of Medialab UgR, a co-creation and digital culture center of social collaboration framed in the digital context. Finally, it offers a first approach towards the assessment of its social impact by using Twitter and analyzes its capacity to mobilize and reach non-academic audiences. The findings show the plurality of actors involved in this type of networks as well as the difficulty and complexity of the task for the development of indicators that can comprise both, academic and social interests., [ES]: Los laboratorios sociales, como espacios de experimentación y cocreación, se han convertido en una de las principales instituciones de innovación en nuestros días.

- Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyse the features of calderonian writing in a partially autograph manuscript. The manuscript Res-79, by which the second version of El mayor monstruo del mundo is preserved, allows observing two fundamental aspects in this dramatic creation pro-cess at the same time: on the one hand, the importance of the scenic determinants, because the two first acts have the typical features of a company manuscript; on the other hand, the third act, autograph, is a perfect example of the dramatist’s effort to constantly perfect, explain and improve the poetic quality of his plays.

33. The Threefold Development of Segismundo: Ontogeny, Philogeny and Social Determinism

- Abstract
This paper uses neuroscientific concepts to show an evolution of Segismundo in La vida es sueño in more dimensions than the social or individual ones, linking it to our species' own history in the way he uses the different attributes he confers to his character during the play. Segismundo is not only a prisoner who ends up taking up his position as prince, but also an example of the ideal process of Man's development and, at the same time, of the evolution that takes place from the animal to the human being, with special emphasis on the rational and analytical capacity as fundamental and irreplaceable feature of the ideal man. To exemplify this I will use the model of the triune brain, identifying the different parts of the brain (reptilian brain, the limbic system and the neocortex) and relating their different evolution along time and areas of specialization with the three different stages of Segismundo's evolution, thus converging in the model of the ideal man suggested by Calderón.
