Nowdays, around 400 million tonnes of paper are produced in the world, which clearly implies the importance of this industry branch in the global economy. The paper describes the basic raw materials and methods of paper processing, the historical development of the paper production plant in Belišće, the process of production and the automation of the process itself. In order to ensure continuous production, paper production plants are automated and thus, with the help of the software system, it facilitates the management and monitoring of production.Leading paper manufacturers strive for new technologies such as new headbox to save energy and improve product quality.Biomass energy and the development of recycled fibers and products are just some of the ways manufacturers want to reduce their environmental impact and raise ecological awareness among other manufacturers or plants.
