This article proposes a methodology for critical path selection and delay sensor insertion for aging monitoring in field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). The aging information can be used to reconfigure FPGAs to achieve better performance or wear leveling. To filter out the paths aging less aggressively, our methodology decides based on both physical-level parameters [e.g., path delay, process variation, temperature, static stress (duty cycle), and dynamic stress (switching activity) as well as aging-relevant parameters (e.g., fan-out, and endpoint physical location)]. After selection of an optimal set of paths, age sensors, introduced in our earlier work, are placed in a distributed fashion throughout the FPGA area to provide aging information of its various parts as they are being used. Accurate aging models for FPGAs are required to determine the contribution of the above-mentioned parameters in aging. In this article, ASICs’ aging models are adapted for FPGAs through measurement-based fitting approach. In this article, we propose a fine-grained FPGA aging mitigation method. Our method focuses on Look Up Tables (LUTs) on which Boolean functions are mapped. Based on our observations, for any configuration, even if it is carefully selected, a number of LUT transistors experience severe stress rates. Therefore, an algorithm is presented to select several alternative configurations for each LUT. Alternative configurations are obtained by LUT input reordering. These alternative configurations are rotationally loaded into the FPGA. Experimental results shows that our method achieves 263 and 14.1 percent Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) improvement for Hot Carrier Injection (HCI) and Bias Temperature Instability (BTI), respectively. The Makran complex in southeast Iran provides a spectacular subduction-related accretionary complex to understand the mechanism of oceanic accretion and the evolution of subduction zones. In this paper, we present new major and trace element data as well as isotopic compositions of mafic volcanic blocks from the Makran ophiolitic mélange complex (OMC). Our aim is to assess the genesis of these rocks and discuss their implications on the evolution of Neotethys Ocean. These volcanic blocks are composed mainly of basalts with minor trachytes. The Makran lavas are occasionally interlayered with tuff layers. Zircons from these tuffs give U-Pb ages of 95 Ma, which is well in accordance with the reposted microfossil data for the interlayered pelagic limestones with pillow lavas. Makran basalts can be geochemically subdivided into four groups; normal to transitional MORB, enriched-MORB, Plume-type MORB and alkaline (-OIB-like) basalts. The OIB-like pillow lavas are represented by high values of Th/Tb (6.3–7.4) which are higher than other basalts (group 1 = 0.3–0.8; groups 2 = 0.7–1.6; group 3 = 1.58–1.36).143Nd/144Nd(t) ratios for basalts ranges from 0.51247 to 0.51292, whereas 87Sr/86Sr(t) isotopic composition of the OMC lavas varies from 0.704433 to 0.709466. The Pb isotopic composition of the lavas are quite high, ranging from 15.49–15.66 for 207Pb/204Pb(t), 18.09–19.12 for 206Pb/204Pb(t) and 37.80–39.23 for 208Pb/204Pb(t). The chemistry of these rocks suggests that they were formed most likely in an oceanic setting with clear plume-ridge interaction. These rocks can form from partial melting of a highly heterogeneous mantle source, which is extensively metasomatized with deep mantle OIB-type components. We suggest these rocks have been generated in an oceanic ridge with plume-ridge interaction, similar to the Iceland-Reykjanes Ridge, before being fragmented and accreted into the Makran accretionary complex. This article proposes and demonstrates a fault-detection method to locate interturn short circuits (ITSCs) in the stator windings of a brushless doubly fed induction machine (BDFIM). The detection of ITSC is important in machine health prognostics as ITSC is an early stage fault that may lead to other faults such as coil-to-coil and coil-to-ground. BDFIM consists of power and control windings in the stator that are magnetically coupled through a nested-loop rotor winding. Existing ITSC detection algorithms use rotor slot harmonics in stator current spectra as fault indicators for only conventional doubly fed induction machines. However, these algorithms cannot be applied to BDFIM due to its different stator/rotor winding structure. This article primarily proposes a new analytical formulation for the nested-loop rotor slot harmonics (NRSHs) as ITSC fault indicators in BDFIMs. Using NRSHs, a detection algorithm is also proposed to detect and locate ITSC in power/control windings of BDFIMs. The proposed algorithm is verified based on numerical analysis of a BDFIM using the finite-element method. The accuracy of the proposed fault-detection algorithm is also experimentally investigated and demonstrated using a BDFIM test rig. Extremely low-frequency magnetic fields (ELF-MFs) have raised some concerns due to their possible effects on workers' health. In this study ELF-MFs were measured in different units of the thermal power plant based on gridding the indoor space. The exposure level was measured by spot measurement based on the IEEE Std C95.3.1 and then simulated in units with the highest magnetic field intensity by using ArcGIS software. The operators and balance of plant (BOP) technicians (12.64 ± 9.74 μT) and office workers (2.41 ± 1.22 μT) had the highest and lowest levels of both measured and estimated ELF-MFs exposure. The highest measured ELF-MFs were in the vicinity of the power transmission lines in the transformers' building (48.2 μT). Our simulation showed the high and low exposure areas and ranked exposure well; but, the actual measurements of ELF-MFs exposure were in all cases higher than the estimated values, which means we still need to improve our estimations. Nowadays, the use of medicinal plants has increased and rangelands are the main sources of these plants. Excessive harvesting has resulted in degradation and reduction of diversity. Cultivation or seeding in nature could reduce the process of destruction, but the seed germination capacity of these species is limited. Methods of seed enhancement such as seed priming can improve these problems. In this research, the possibility of germination improvement of Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn. was investigated by using potassium nitrate treatment. Different concentrations of 0, 1, 2 and 3 percent of the solution of KNO3 were applied for 24 and 48 hours at 25 °C. An experiment was conducted in a factorial arrangement with a completely randomized design with three replications. The germination components (germination percentage, germination rate, seedling, root length, shoot length, seedling length, root and shoot fresh and dry weight) were measured in laboratory conditions (petri dish) and cultivation trays. Also, the leaf area index determined. Results showed significant differences in time interaction and different concentrations of KNO3 in germination rate, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, seedling dry weight and leaf area index. In the experiments designed in the petri dish, the interaction between time and various concentrations of KNO3 affected all measured factors except shoot and seedling dry weight (P<0.01). The optimum treatment was 1% concentration and 24 hours, which is caused a significant increase compared to control in the studied traits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the recent years chemical control of weeds has become a dominant method of weed control. The heavy use of these chemicals has had a negative impact on the environment and human health. So this study tries to investigate the analysis paddy farmers' knowledge about integrated weed management (IWM) in Iran. The study was done by a descriptive-surveying method that including field and documentary data. The population of the study consisted of selected Dooreh - CHegeni farmers that cultivation wheat and rice together. Sample population was selected by using the Cochran formula (n=198). The main instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The validity of research tool was obtained by the idea of experts and for reliability of questionnaires a pilot test was conducted. The Cronbach' Alpha coefficient of higher than 0.7 showed that research tool was reliable (learning style (0.818), economic characteristic (0.700) and social characteristic (0.723) respectively). The result of correlation analysis showed that the variables such as: belief in discussion with other farmers about sustainable weed management, the importance of dialogue and implement the recommendations of experts, quality and quantity of extension programs, attitude towards the impact of SWM (Sustainable Weed Management) on healthy crop production and farmers 'attitude toward the effects of this type of management on increasing production has a significant effect on farmers' awareness of integrated weed management in the field The results also showed that farmers' use of appropriate seed (weed-free) and farmers' appropriate attitude toward discussion with other farmers about integrated weed management in the field is the most important variable could be predicted the rice farmers' knowledge of IWM(Integrated Weed Management) in the field. Heat stress causes physiological changes, and changes in hematological parameters and hormonal levels in the human body, known as thermal strain. This study was conducted to determine the effect of exposure to heat stress on hematological parameters and oxidative stress in the bakers of Shahroud City, Iran. A total of 163 bakery workers (exposed group) and 135 office workers (unexposed group) with a minimum of 1-year working experience were selected. Exposure to heat stress was measured using ISO-7243 criteria on the hottest days of the year (late July and August). Wet-bulb globe temperature (WBGT) was calculated based on indoor environments. Oxidative stress indices including malondialdehyde (MDA), nitric oxide (NO), total antioxidant capacity (TAC) in the bakers' and office workers' serum and hematological parameters were measured. Statistical analysis was done through independent t -test, and multivariate linear regression using SPSS v24. Analysis of hematological parameters showed that about 70% and 68% of the bakers had abnormal mean cell volume (MCV) and white blood cell (WBC) count, respectively, while only around 12% of them had abnormal mean cell hemoglobin concentration (MCHC). The counts of red blood cells (RBC), WBC, lymphocytes (LYM), and MCV showed significant differences in different occupational groups (p < 0.05). The levels of MDA and NO were significantly higher in bakers with WBGT more than the threshold value (p < 0.05). The WBGT index for assessing heat stress can be used as a predictor variable for MDA and NO levels. In addition, heat stress exposure could be a risk factor for abnormal WBC, RBC, LYM, and MCV. Objectives: This study was designed to investigate the possible effect of exposure to extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF‐EMFs) on occupational burnout syndrome and the severity of depression experienced among thermal power plant workers and the role of oxidative stress. Methods: In this cross‐sectional study, 115 power plant workers and 124 administrative personnel of a hospital were enrolled as exposed and unexposed groups, respectively, based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Levels of oxidative stress biomarkers, including malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (Cat), and total antioxidant capacity were measured in serum samples. Exposure to electric and magnetic fields was measured using the IEEE Std C95.3.1 standard at each workstation. The burnout syndrome and the severity of depression were assessed using the Maslach Burnout and Beck Depression Inventory. Results: The levels of MDA and SOD were significantly lower in the exposed group than the unexposed group. The exposed group reported a higher prevalence of burnout syndrome and higher depression severity. Multiple linear regression showed that work experience, MDA level, and levels of exposure to magnetic fields are the most important predictor variables for burnout syndrome and severity of depression. In addition, a decrease in the level of Cat was significantly associated with increased burnout syndrome. Conclusion: The thermal power plant workers exposed to ELF‐EMFs are at risk of burnout syndrome and depression. There has been a growing interest in assessing the condition and quality of life in older adult population, and factors contributing to it. In this context, fear of falling syndrome is introduced as one of the main factors that can affect the quality of life in the general adult population. However, little is known about the relationship between fear of falling and other disorders in older adults, particularly among the Middle East population. Here we investigated the associations between fear of falling and anxiety and depression disorders. A standardized questionnaire was used to assess sociodemographic variables and physical health condition. Subsequently, fear of falling and anxiety and depression scales were assessed using the Falls Efficacy Scale International and the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale, respectively. Our results highlighted the high risk of having anxiety and depression disorders among older adults. The findings also indicate that physical and mental health disorders play a significant role in incident fear of falling. Therefore, improving mental health might lend controlling fear of falling syndrome, which then preventing falls incident and subsequent injury in older adult population. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The genetic relatedness among 18 strains of Agaricus bisporus was assessed based on the fragment pattern analysis obtained by the amplification of genomic DNA by BOX, ERIC (ERICIR-I/ERIC2) and REP (REP1RI/REP2I) gene sequences. Based on the banding patterns of PCR-amplified products, eight putative groups among the 18 commercial and wild strains were recognized. REP-PCR generated multiple distinct products showing considerable variability among the strains with ERIC and REP elements successfully enabled detection of wild and commercial A. bisporus. Strains originating from the same geographical location were not always genetically related. To our knowledge, this was the first relevance study of biodiversity in commercial and native populations of A. bisporus by using the REP-PCR technique. The results confirmed the usefulness REP-PCR typing in intraspecific genetic variation assessments of the button mushroom. Once blackouts occur the system operators should re‐energise the affected system in the shortest time. To attain this, restoration plans should be developed beforehand. A deliberate restoration plan considers the supply duration of the cranking power to non‐black‐start units (NBSUs), besides the static and dynamic constraints of the power system. Hence, there should be a method to estimate the restoration duration of NBSUs considering the failure in breakers operating mechanism and the stochastic nature of restoration actions. Accordingly, in this study, generally distributed transition stochastic Petri net is employed to calculate the supply duration of NBSUs, critical loads and the execution time of restoration actions. This is significant because the planners can validate their restoration plans from the NBSUs critical times' point of view or determine energisation time of critical loads. The proposed method has been applied in three test cases, two of these are used for benchmarking, and the other one is a part of Iran bulk power system, which includes a real black‐start test. Power outage, also known as blackout, is inevitable despite all operator efforts. Accordingly, an exhaustive restoration plan should be prepared beforehand. Considering all the static and dynamic constraints of power systems during system restoration leads to a comprehensive restoration plan which, in turn, results in the alleviation of its negative impacts. One of the challenges in developing the restoration plan is switching transients in energizing no-load or lightly loaded transformers and its effect on other power system equipment, arresters in particular. In this article, a restoration plan in the Iran power system is studied, focusing on switching transients. First, the flux–current curve is plotted applying three different methods, utilizing the real standard test data of a transformer; then, the thermal effect of switching transients on an arrester existing in Iran electric grid is studied. Results yielded that the arrester may be damaged in the absence of preventive actions; therefore, a proper countermeasure which takes into consideration the frequency and voltage constraints, as well as the asynchronous operation of circuit breaker contacts, is proposed. Despite the robust induction of humoral immune responses, a limitation of many adjuvants is their weak stimulation of cellular immunity. The development of synthetic gene-encoding adjuvants for simultaneous induction of both humoral and cell-mediated immune responses is under study. In this study, we examined the impact of toll/interleukin-1 receptor (TIR) domain of toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) as molecular adjuvants on potency of inactivated infectious bursal disease (IBD) vaccines. A total of 60 specific pathogen-free week-old chicks were randomized grouped to receive either TIR-TLR7-adjuvanted IBD-inactivated vaccine or inactivated IBD antigen along with an unvaccinated control. Serum antibody titers were measured to estimate the humoral immunity, as well as lymphocyte proliferation activity for cellular immune responses. The protection was estimated after challenge with a very virulent IBD virus (IBDV) strain at 4 weeks postvaccination. The results indicated that one dose of IBD/TIR-TLR7 vaccine induced specific antibody responses, whereas a lower response after administration of inactivated IBD antigen was observed. The stimulation of splenocytes results indicated that the TIR-TLR7 adjuvanted IBD vaccine is capable of modulating cell-mediated immune response in treated chickens. A full protection against IBDV infection was achieved by injection of one dose IBD/TIR-TLR7 vaccine in the challenge trial. This study demonstrated that codelivery of TIR-TLR7 with inactivated IBD antigen resulted in simultaneous enhancing immune responses against IBD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Score equivalency of two Computer-Based Testing (henceforth CBT) and Paper-and-Pencil-Based Testing (henceforth PBT) versions has turned into a controversial issue during the last decade in Iran. The comparability of mean scores obtained from two CBT and PBT formats of test should be investigated to see if test takers' testing performance is influenced by the effects of testing administration mode. This research was conducted to examine score equivalency across modes as well as the relationship of gender, and testing mode preference with test takers' performance on computerized testing. The information on testing mode preference and attitudes towards CBT and its features was supported by a focus group interview. Findings indicated that the scores of test takers were not different in both modes and there was no statistically significant relationship between moderator above variables and CBT performance. A virtual synchronous machine (VSM) approach is proposed to integrate inverter-based distributed energy resource units into the power and energy system. VSMs emulate the model of a synchronous machine in the inverter's controller. Among different aspects, emulating the damper windings or devising an alternative damping strategy is critical. The damper has a major stabilizing effect against system disturbances and change. An effective damping method to improve the VSM responses is proposed in this paper. It is shown that the proposed method offers two degrees of freedom, which allows flexible adjustment of response damping without compromising the inertial response. In this paper, new steady-state analysis is proposed for a series resonant converter (SRC) that provides closed-form expressions for converter waveforms. Using the proposed analysis, explicit equations are obtained to design the converter components. It is shown that an SRC can be modeled through a nonlinear differential equation with discontinuous inputs. A Laplace-based theorem (LBT) is provided to obtain the steady-state analytic solution of the resonant converter differential equations. Using the LBT, a flowchart is proposed to analyze the converter where the nonlinearity of differential equation is removed by defining intermediate variables. The variable duty ratio SRC is analyzed using the proposed flowchart. Accurate, closed-form, and explicit equations for converter waveforms, voltage gain, current phase lag, zero voltage switching, and discontinuous conduction mode boundaries are derived. The proposed analysis is compared with conventional methods and its accuracy is validated through simulations and experimental results. Noise, emitted by wind turbines, is one of the main health risk factors which has been recently considered in many researches. Noise annoyance is among the most important human responses to noise. The aim of this work was to modeling of annoyance due to noise at workplace coming from wind turbines in workers. All workers of a wind power plant consisted the study sample. The equivalent noise level was measured using a task-based method. Moreover, data related to noise annoyance and noise sensitivity were acquired by standardized methods. Based on the results, noise exposure, noise sensitivity, visibility, age, and experience affected noise annoyance. According to path analysis, the most indirect and direct effect on noise annoyance were attributed to noise exposure. Age, sensitivity, and noise exposure were positively associated to annoyance. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between age, experience, sensitivity to noise, and exposure to the wind turbine noise with noise annoyance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among noise exposure, sensitivity, and noise annoyance with job satisfaction and job stress among the workers of a textile industry. In this study, Weinstein's Noise Sensitivity Scale, Noise Annoyance Questionnaire (recommended based on ISO 15666-2003), Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Job Stress Questionnaire, and Job Satisfaction Scale were used to determine the degree of noise sensitivity, noise annoyance, occupational stress, and job satisfaction, respectively. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the mean of job satisfaction, job stress, noise sensitivity, and noise annoyance between case and control groups. The results of multivariate analysis of covariance showed that noise exposure, noise sensitivity, and noise annoyance can justify 0.09, 0.19, and 0.06 of the variance of job stress, respectively. These variables also could justify 0.09, 0.12, and 0.05 of the variance of job satisfaction, respectively. Aim: To investigate the relation between the circadian rhythm amplitude and stability, and occupational stress with burnout syndrome and job dissatisfaction among shift working nurses. Background: Irregular shift working nurses are prone to burnout syndrome (BS) and job dissatisfaction (JD). circadian rhythm difference and occupational stress might be effective in causing burnout syndrome and dissatisfaction. Design: In total, 684 nurses who worked in four teaching hospitals were selected by stratified random sampling in a cross‐sectional design based on STROBE guidelines. Methods: The data were collected by the Circadian Type Inventory, Job Content Questionnaire, Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire and the Maslach Burnout Inventory. Multiple linear regression, one‐way ANOVA and independent t test were used for statistical analysis by SPSS v24. Results: About 15% of the nurses suffered from high levels of burnout syndrome. Psychological demand (β = 0.022, CI 95% = 0.003‒0.047 and β = 0.016, CI 95% = 0.001‒0.032) and workplace support (β = −0.043, CI 95% = −0.097–0.003 and β = −0.025, CI 95% = −0.046–0.006) were significant predictors of BS and JD. Male nurses reported lower BS and higher JD compared to female nurses. Irregular shift working schedule was also related to a significantly higher odd of BS (p = 0.009) and JD (p = 0.011). Nurses classified as languid experienced significantly more BS and JD than vigorous nurses. Conclusion: This study shows that BS and JD were strongly associated with psychological demand and workplace support; and vigorous nurses were less prone to BS and JD, and were more suitable for irregular shift work. Relevance to clinical practice: In order to reduce burnout syndrome and job dissatisfaction among irregular shift working nurses, we need to identify the effect of risk factors such as individual differences on the circadian rhythm and job demand which can affect nurses who work in irregular schedules. The Lower Cretaceous siliciclastic fluvial to shallow marine Shurijeh–Shatlyk formations together form one of the main reservoir successions in the Kopeh Dagh–Amu Darya Basin (NE Iran, Turkmenistan, and north of Afghanistan). Sedimentary facies and thickness changes in the Shurijeh–Shatlyk formations show complex variations throughout the basin, which highlight the importance of understanding the controlling factors on facies distribution and depositional setting for future hydrocarbon exploration. Integration of 3D seismic data, 13 boreholes, and five surface stratigraphic sections led to identification of lithofacies and facies associations. The results allow subdivision of this siliciclastic succession into four stratigraphic units (A, B, C, and D). Our study indicates that base‐level changes interacted with palaeotopography inherited from Middle Jurassic basin rifting, Upper Jurassic carbonate reefs/patch reef distributions, and reactivation of the deep basin faults, to control the Shurijeh–Shatlyk depositional setting and sedimentary facies distribution. Our findings show that the Aghdarband and Badkhyz–Maimana palaeo‐highs affected the Kopeh Dagh–Amu Darya Basin throughout deposition of the Shurijeh–Shatlyk formations. Allogeneic processes and active tectonics, related to the Valanginian Late Cimmerian Orogeny, caused a base‐level fall, exposure of Upper Jurassic carbonate sediments, and deposition of a carbonate pebbly conglomerate unit in the western part of the study area. This base‐level fall led to the deposition of thick evaporites in the western area and conglomerate in the eastern parts of the Kopeh Dagh. Due to a Hauterivian sea‐/base‐level rise, several deltas formed in the basin, which form the main reservoir zone in the Murgab Depression and Khangiran Field in Turkmenistan and Iran. A new inverter control approach, called enhanced virtual synchronous machine (eVSM), is proposed based on the VSM concept. Unlike existing VSM approaches, the eVSM does not emulate the rotating inertia based on an assumption of the unlimited energy storage, but it deploys the physically existing inertia of the dc-link element. The eVSM adopts an innovative way of enlarging the inertia utilization range, which obviates the need for having a large dc-link element or a dedicated battery storage system, while still providing the same inertia response of an equivalent synchronous machine. Theoretical developments and numerical results presented in this paper confirm that the proposed eVSM can present a stabilizing support to the grid similar to a synchronous machine despite the small size of its dc-link element. Moreover, its transient responses can be improved beyond those of conventional synchronous machines thanks to the possibility of more flexibly adjusting damping and governor functions. Learning could not be thought of as unrelated to cognitive processes and cognitive processes are not unrelated to affective ones; thus, the current study tried to empirically examine the influence of Emotion Based Language Instruction (EBLI) in fostering teaching oral skills to EFL learners. An IELTS test was utilized to measure the progress of both control and experimental groups at the beginning of the research and also at the end. The content of the material chosen to be taught for experimental group was selectively written based on the Metric of Emotioncy designed by Pishghadam (2016). The differences in scores of pre and posttest of IELTS were statistically calculated to observe the effect of EBLI. The results revealed a significant change in speaking skill in experimental group and a change in listening skill, though it was not statistically significant. Exposure to extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMF) is inevitable in some industries. There are concerns about the possible effects of this exposure. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of chronic exposure to extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields on sleep quality, stress, depression and anxiety among power plant workers. In this cross-sectional study, 132 power plant workers were included as the exposed group and 143 other workers were included as the unexposed group. The intensity of ELF-EMF at work stations was measured by using the IEEE Std C95.3.1 standard and then the time weighted average was calculated. Sleep quality, stress, depression and anxiety were measured by using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Questionnaire; and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale. The workers in the exposed group experienced significantly poorer sleep quality than the unexposed group. Depression was also more severe in the exposed group than the unexposed group (P = 0.039). Increased exposure to ELF-EMF had a direct and significant relation with increased stress, depression, and anxiety. Sleep quality in technicians with the highest exposure was significantly lower than the other groups. This study suggests that long-term occupational exposure to ELF-EMF may lead to depression, stress, anxiety and poor sleep quality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Quality of Working Life (QWL) is a vital concept in the employees' life which can confirm the efficiency of the organisation and job satisfaction of employees. Aim: The present study investigated the interactive effects of background variables (job and demographic characteristics) and workload parameters on the Work-Related Quality of Life (WRQoL) among nurses working in highly complex hospital units (ICU, CCU and Emergency). Materials and Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in 2017, among all male and female volunteer nurses (n=840). For this purpose, NASA-Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) and WRQoL were used. A general questionnaire was also used to collect the job and demographic information of nurses. The statistical analyses were performed through MANOVA, tests between-subject's effects, Box's M, pair-wise comparisons, Bonferroni method, and multiple regression. Results: The findings indicated that the difference in mean score of WRQoL was statistically significant in all groups of the studied background variables except gender and Body Mass Index (BMI). The relationship between the variables of age, work experience, and the number of patients per shift and scores of work-related quality of life was statistically significant. Also, based on the results of multivariate regression analysis, the variables of overtime hours, the number of patients per shift, age, and the level of workload remained in the regression model and their coefficients of influence were estimated -43%, -23%, -19%, and -15%, respectively. Conclusion: The results indicated the simultaneous effect of the studied variables on the nurses' WRQoL. Of these, the variables of overtime hours, the number of patients per shift, age, and workload level were finally kept in the regression model to explain the most percentage of changes in the WRQoL. The current study was conducted to investigate whether test scores of Iranian English as Foreign Language (EFL) learners were equivalent across CBT and PBT modes, with 58 intermediate learners studying at a private language academy located in Behshahr city in northern Iran. Moreover, test takers' computer familiarity, attitudes, aversion, and testing mode preference were regarded as the potential issues to influence CBT test scores. Data were collected using CBT and PBT versions of Nelson Proficiency Multiple-Choice Tests and Computer Aversion, Attitudes, and Familiarity Index (CAAFI) questionnaire as well as a simple testing administration mode preference question. The participants produced similar scores across modes, although they insignificantly outperformed on the CBT version. Additionally, analysis of the overall scores on the CAAFI and mode preference question obtained from CBT testing session indicated no statistically significant correlation between computer familiarity, attitude, aversion, and mode preference variables and test takers' CBT scores. The qualitative findings of this study obtained by semi-structured interview revealed that most of the participants showed high preference and more advantages for CBT over PBT to rationalize why they preferred this mode of testing. In this study, a combined ON/OFF and conformal mapping method is applied to the permanent magnet shape optimisation of the surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM). The magnet shape has a profound impact on the cogging torque and torque profile of the SPMSM. The proposed method is based on the combination of the conformal mapping and ON/OFF methods, which can reduce computation time significantly as compared with methods that are based on the finite-element method (FEM). For the optimisation process, genetic algorithms are used and applied to three cases. Finally, the FEM is used to verify the magnetic model and characteristics of the optimised machine. Affective factors play a role in learning in general and language learning in particular. The current study tried to empirically examine the influence of one of these factors namely 'Emotional Intelligence' to check its influence on Speaking Skill. Participants were Intermediate level students who took the IELTS test (International English Language Testing System), so that the researchers could evaluate their proficiency in speaking skill at the beginning of the project. Next, the Emotional Intelligence of them was calculated and afterwards Emotional Intelligence (EI) was taught. After a one-educational-year course of simultaneously teaching EI and Speaking skill, the same IELTS along with the Emotional Quotient (EQ) questionnaire was administered in experimental and control group. To observe the development in each category, the difference in scores of both EQ and IELTS test (pre-test and post-test) were calculated. Ultimately, it was found that both EQ and speaking skill of the learners in treatment group were developed in a significant way whereas only speaking skill of control group progressed but it was not significant. Geolocated social media data provide a powerful source of information about places and regional human behavior. Because only a small amount of social media data have been geolocation‐annotated, inference techniques play a substantial role to increase the volume of annotated data. Conventional research in this area has been based on the text content of posts from a given user or the social network of the user, with some recent crossovers between the text‐ and network‐based approaches. This paper proposes a novel approach to categorize highly‐mentioned users (celebrities) into Local and Global types, and consequently use Local celebrities as location indicators. A label propagation algorithm is then used over the refined social network for geolocation inference. Finally, we propose a hybrid approach by merging a text‐based method as a back‐off strategy into our network‐based approach. English language is an important international language and a considerable part of time and expenses is devoted to learning it. Since many academicians and common people invest a lot of time on learning it, an increase in learning speed is certainly an urgent need. The current study tried to empirically examine the influence of an affective factor namely Emotional Intelligence on Reading Skill as affective factors play a role in learning in general and language learning in particular. Intermediate EFL learners in Iran were given an IELTS test for evaluating their reading proficiency. Next, the Emotional Quotient of the subjects were calculated and after that teaching Emotional Intelligence was started. The subjects received instructions for one year on both Emotional Intelligence and Reading Skill. The difference in scores of both Emotional Intelligence and IELTS tests were then statistically calculated to observe the progress in each issue. The findings of the study showed a significant progress both in Emotional Intelligence and Reading Skill of the subjects in the experimental group, but no significance was observed in the control group. Background: Working at height has always been considered as one of the most dangerous industrial activities. Workers' fitness including their physical and psychological ability plays a key role in prevention of occupational accidents. This research was conducted to investigate the physical and mental fitness of telecommunication tower climbers as well as their job stress. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among employees of a contracting company which worked in the field of telecommunication tower installation in Iran during 2016. Sixty out of 93 workers voluntarily participated in this study. Data collection tools were the Persian version of the Work Ability Index (WAI), the Persian version of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Stress Indicator Tool and an author-developed measure to assess socio-demographic characteristics. Data was analyzed through statistical tests such as independent t-test, univariate analyses of variance (ANOVAs), Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multivariate linear regression; using SPSS 1 9 software. Results: Workers' mean ± SD WAI score was 29.17± 10.33 and for work-related stress was 3.08 ± 1.80. There was a significant relation between WAI and educational level, job tenure, hours of sleep per day, regular exercise, and second job. The repression modeling explained 67.4% of the total variance (adjusted R2) 0f the WAI score. Among the dimensions of work related stress, control (β = 0.21) and changes (β = -0. 40) were significant predictors of the WAI score. Conclusions: To improve the worker's work ability, intervention programs should focus on promoting level of job control, sleep quality and exercise. Constraints on resources, staff, facilities, and other features of the multidimensional problems of the cultivation, production, trafficking, and use of illicit drugs (or drugrelated activities) in Afghanistan require many organizations to work together. The advantages of this cooperation include effectively and efficiently combating this multidimensional phenomenon. Addressing this, this paper examines the patternized interactions among counternarcotics stakeholders in the collaborative process of combating drugs in Afghanistan based on a typology of network governance: shared governance network, lead organization-governed network, and network administrative organization. This study reveals that counternarcotics policies are implemented in vast networks including governmental, nongovernmental and international actors in the form of multilevel and multisectoral governance across seven types of counternarcotics activities, comprising influence in decision making, information and advice seeking, collaboration, resource sharing, funding provision, and goal congruence. This research also improves our understanding of network governance, in which counternarcotics stakeholders are actually collaborating within several distinct networks across different areas of counternarcotics activities in Afghanistan. A method for the trace determination of cadmium ions in water, human urine and human blood serum samples using ultrasonic‐assisted dispersive micro‐solid‐phase extraction (UA‐D‐μSPE) was developed. Silica‐coated magnetic nanoparticles were coated with polythiophene, and the resulting sorbent was characterized using thermogravimetry, differential thermal analysis, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry and X‐ray diffraction. Following UA‐D‐μSPE, cadmium ions were quantified using graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. A Box–Behnken design was used for optimization of important sorption and desorption parameters in UA‐D‐μSPE: in the sorption step, pH of solution, sorption amount and sonication time for sorption; in the desorption step, concentration of eluent, volume of eluent and sonication time. The optimum conditions for the method were: pH of solution, 7.5; sonication time for sorption, 3 min; sorption amount, 35 mg; type and concentration of eluent, HCl and 1.1 mol l−1; volume of eluent, 360 μl; sonication time for desorption, 110 s. Under the optimized conditions the limit of detection and relative standard deviation for the detection of cadmium ions by UA‐D‐μSPE were found to be 0.8 ng l−1 and <6%, respectively. The monoid Cb of name substitutions originated by Pitts in name abstraction, and the notion of a finitely supported Cb-set appeared in the study of models of homotopy type theory in the works of Gabbay and Pitts. On the other hand, retracts and retractions play a crucial role in most branches of mathematics as well as in computer science where partial morphisms need to be completed. Retracts are the subobjects whose related inclusion morphism have a left inverse, called retraction. In this paper, we study the retracts and retractions of cyclic finitely supported Cb-sets. We find the general definition of retractions from a cyclic Cb-set, and give necessary conditions under which retractions exist. Also, fix-simple retracts of a cyclic Cb-set are characterized. Further, the cyclic finitely supported Cb-sets all whose subobjects are retract, are studied. In particular, we give a necessary condition for a cyclic finitely supported Cb-set to be retractable. Introduction Work-related stress and its causes are among the most important issues which can seriously challenge organizational efficiency and employees' health. Different occupational environments and groups have different levels of job stress. The present study aimed to investigate relationships between job stress and its dimensions with three occupational groups (administrative, administrative-operational, and operational) among a subsidiary company workers of Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company. Methods The present study had descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional type and was conducted among 468 out of 503 employees (with entry condition of a year of work experience as well as an official and contractual membership) volunteered to participate in research. Data collection tools included demographic questions and job stress questionnaire as well as human resource department information to determine occupational group of employees. Descriptive statistics, statistical tests, Independent test, and oneway ANOVA in addition to SPSS 21 software were used for data analysis. Results There were significant relationships between age, education levels, work experience and smoking with mean score of job stress (P-value <0.05). Mean score of employees' job stress in operational occupation group was significantly higher than other two occupational groups (P-value=0.004), and there were significant relationships between employees' occupational group variables with five dimensions of job stress (demand, relationships and role, managerial support, and peer support) (P-value<0.05). There were not any significant relationships between other variables and job stress (Pvalue> 0.05). Conclusions Exposure to different occupational harmful agents, facing with different safety risks, being far from family, heavy workload, and uncertain employee roles have significantly increased job stress in both operational and executive occupation groups compared to other two occupational groups; hence, there is a positive correlation between high job stress and operational jobs. The current study tried to empirically examine the influence of enhancing Emotional Intelligence on writing skill. The method of doing the study was giving an "Interchange Placement Test" to the university students who majored in English (EFL learners) in Iran. After selecting intermediate level students for participating in the study, an IELTS test was administered to evaluate the proficiency of the participants at the beginning of the project. Next, the Emotional Quotient (EQ) of the subjects was measured and afterwards, teaching Emotional Intelligence (EI) was started. In this paper, an index is proposed for the detection of static eccentricity (SE), dynamic eccentricity (DE), and mixed eccentricity (ME) in a three-phase permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). The proposed index is the amplitude of the sideband components with a particular frequency pattern which is extracted from the spectrum of the stator voltage. This index can be used in no load state prior to the loading of the generator which can cause damage in eccentricity conditions. Moreover, the proposed index works properly in loaded condition. Extraction of the proper indexes highly depends on precise computation of the necessary signals. Therefore, in order to fulfil the required precision, the time-stepping finite element method (TSFEM) is used to model the PMSG under eccentricity fault and to calculate the stator voltage as an appropriate signal for processing. This paper presents an instantaneous torque control method for cascaded doubly fed induction machines (CDFIMs) with a rated torque-sharing ratio feature under steady-state operation. A CDFIM includes two coupled main and auxiliary doubly fed induction machines, and the rated torque-sharing ratio herein means that the machine torques are proportional to the machine ratings. The proposed method is established based on transferring the torque equations of the two machines into the rotor-flux reference frame of the auxiliary machine. Then, the instantaneous torque and the rated torque-sharing ratio are controlled via the stator current components of the auxiliary machine, while machine fluxes are within allowable ranges. To verify the method and evaluate its capabilities, the suggested method is used for the speed control of a CDFIM experimental setup including two 4-kW doubly fed induction machines and a 4-kW dc machine to apply a sudden mechanical load change to the CDFIM. Further, a case study including 12-kW and 4-kW DFIMs is also simulated to evaluate the performance of the torque control method for a CDFIM with different machine ratings. Objectives: Nowadays, ports are considered a portal for business as well as the main infrastructure for economic development worldwide. Genetic predisposition, work activity and procedures, and psychosocial preparedness are the main factors responsible for the occurrence of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WRMSDs). The present study aimed to assess psychosocial variables affecting WMSDs in an Iranian port in 2015. Methods: All workers of a port (n=60) located in the south of Iran were included in the present study. Job burnout and safety climate were assessed by MBI and SCQ, respectively. In addition, musculoskeletal disorders were reported by body map questionnaire. Data analysis was performed by ANOVA, logistic regression analysis, Pearson correlation, and t-test using SPSS V20. Results: Based on the obtained data, 40 workers (66.7%) experienced musculoskeletal pain in at least one part of their bodies in the previous year. Also, job burnout score was 76.17±8.9 and safety climate was 188.7±23.07. Logistic regression revealed that job burnout, emotional fatigue (P<0.05), safety attitude, and emergency management are the most important predictors of WRMSDs. Discussion: Psychological factors of workplaces include job burnout, employees' attitude and safety climate that negatively affect ergonomic disorders. Since psychological and psychosocial issues are neglected in developing countries such as Iran, the researchers anticipate that the obtained results can be used as a guideline for policymakers as well as in the supportive and preventive arena for managing safety and health issues. BACKGROUND: Prevention of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WRMSDs) is crucial as they jeopardize the well-being of the workforce in workplaces and are prevalent in developed and developing countries. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of WRMSDs among Iranian workers. METHODS: A systematic review and meta-analysis of WRMSDs in Iran was performed by searching relevant keywords in authentic databases and search engines such as SID, Google Scholar, Medlib and PubMed. Twenty-seven published articles in the field of WRMSDs from 2001 to 2010 were searched. Meta-analysis and random effects approach were used to analyze data. Heterogeneity investigation of articles was done using I2 index. RESULTS: The total sample size was 6,090 workers with a mean of 225 samples per study. The upper and lower back had the highest prevalence rate of self-reported WRMSDs with 38.1% (95% CI: 29.9–46.4), and 50% (95% CI: 42.5–57.5), respectively. Also, knee had the highest prevalence among lower extremity disorders with 42.1% prevalence rate (95% CI:35.1–49.1). CONCLUSIONS: A high prevalence of WRMSDs in upper and lower limbs was reported in Iran. Trainings with regard to occupational ergonomics and industrial hygiene programs were recommended for minimizing the work-related risks of musculoskeletal disorders. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper proposes a linear and efficient transmitter prototype based on pulsed load modulation (PLM) power amplifier (PA). The proposed transmitter setup utilizes the complex delta–sigma (DS) modulation as a signal processing technique instead of the envelope DS modulation for higher linearity performance. Using the complex DS modulation technique reduces the in-band quantization noise significantly at the output of the modulator and consequently, enhances the linearity of the transmitter. To validate the proposed technique, the linearity and efficiency performance of the complex DS modulator (CDSM)-based transmitter are compared with the performance of its envelope DS modulator (EDSM) counterpart in measurement. For this paper, an efficient and linear PLM PA is designed and fabricated using GaAs E-pHEMT transistors. For a Long-Term Evolution (LTE) uplink standard signal with 3-MHz bandwidth and 7-dB peak-to-average power ratio, the CDSM-based transmitter achieves the drain efficiency and power added efficiency of 46% and 42%, respectively, at an average output power of 25.1 dBm. The comparison measurement study of EDSM-based transmitter and the CDSM-based transmitter with the LTE uplink signal shows about 11-dB improvement in the signal-to-noise and distortion ratio of the output signal. Background and Objectives: Due to adverse effects of pentavalent antimonial treatment of visceral leishmaniasis using herbal medicines has received a lot of attention. In this study, we evaluated inhibitory activity of Pelargonium roseum essential oil on growth of Leishmania infantum promastigotes, and compared it with that of Glucantime. Methods: Inhibitory effects of different concentrations (1, 2.5, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 μL/ml) of P. roseum essential oil on the growth of L. infantum promastigotes were studied by MTT assay after 24 and 48 hours. All the data were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance. The effect of the essential oil was later compared with that of standard dose of Glucantime. Results: After 24 hours, different concentrations of the essential oil had no significant inhibitory effect on promastigotes of L. infantum. After 48 hours, all concentrations except for 1μL/ml showed significant anti-leishmanial activity. In addition, the lowest concentration that had significant inhibitory effect on L. infantum promastigote was 5 μL/ml. Conclusion: The essential oil of P. roseum has favorable inhibitory activity on the growth of L. infantum promastigotes after 48 hours. This paper presents a model and a control strategy for a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) wind energy system in an unbalanced microgrid based on instantaneous power theory. The proposed model uses instantaneous real/reactive power components as the system state variables. In addition to the control of real/reactive powers, the controllers use the rotor-side converter for mitigating the torque and reactive power pulsations. The control scheme also uses the grid-side converter for partial compensation of unbalanced stator voltage. The main features of the proposed control method are its feedback variables are independent of reference frame transformations and it does not require sequential decomposition of current components. These features simplify the structure of required controllers under an unbalanced voltage condition and inherently improve the robustness of the controllers. A power limiting algorithm is also introduced to protect power converters against over rating and define the priority of real/reactive power references within the control scheme. The performance of the proposed strategy in reducing torque ripples and unbalanced stator voltage is investigated based on the time-domain simulation of a DFIG study system under unbalanced grid voltage. A fast and robust fixed switching frequency peak current controller for DC–AC converters is presented. The proposed method tends to mimic the switching behavior of pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques, so it features all the advantages of peak current controllers (such as simplicity, fast transient, and optimum dynamic response), with the superiority of fixed switching frequency and harmonic free output. The proposed method is a generalized approach that can be applied to different PWM schemes. The method is specifically elaborated for single-phase distributed generation applications, using various inverter topologies and mimicking different PWM schemes. Moreover, adaptive bands are proposed to provide active damping for the controller, to extend use of the proposed method for inverters with LCL output filters. Investigation of genetic relationship among populations has been traditionally based on the analysis of allele frequencies at different loci. The prime objective of this research was to measure the genetic polymorphism of five microsatellite markers (McMA2, BM6444, McMA26, HSC, and OarHH35) and study genetic diversity of 14 sheep types in Iran. Genomic DNA was extracted from blood samples of 565 individuals using an optimized salting-out DNA extraction procedure. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was successfully performed with the specific primers. Some locus-population combinations were not at Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (P < 0:05). The microsatellite analysis revealed high allelic and gene diversity in all 14 breeds. Pakistani and Arabi breeds showed the highest mean number of alleles (11.8 and 11 respectively), while the highest value for polymorphic information content was observed for the Arabi breed (0.88). A UPGMA (unweighted pair group method with arithmetic mean) dendrogram based on the Nei's standard genetic distance among studied breeds showed a separate cluster for Arabi and Pakistani breeds and another cluster for other breeds. The Shannon index (H0) for McMA2, BM6444, McMA26, HSC, and OarHH35 was 2.31, 2.17, 2.27, 2.04 and 2.18, respectively, and polymorphic information content (PIC) values were 0.88, 0.92, 0.87, 0.84, and 0.86 for McMA2, BM6444, McMA26, HSC, and OarHH35, respectively. The high degree of variability demonstrated within the studied sheep types implies that these populations are rich reservoirs of genetic diversity that must be preserved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
