To understand the self‐priming characteristics of a self‐priming pump, a closed‐loop piping system that includes the self‐priming pump, valve, tank, and piping system is established. The acceleration–constant speed operation processes of the impeller are controlled through a user‐defined function that ensures that the computational model and startup conditions are consistent with the real situation. Based on numerical calculations of the self‐priming process with two different self‐priming heights, the gas–liquid distributions during the self‐priming startup process are obtained. The results show that the self‐priming startup process can be divided into three stages: rapid inhalation, oscillating exhaust, and accelerated exhaust. Under the two self‐priming heights, the time required for the rapid inhalation and accelerated exhaust stages is basically the same. Thus, the difference in self‐priming time is mainly concentrated in the oscillating exhaust stage. The rate at which the liquid level rises in the vertical pipe is not proportional to the self‐priming height, and the difference in the self‐priming time is not proportional to the change in the self‐priming height. Mounting evidence suggests that climate change will cause shifts of tree species range and abundance (biomass). Abundance changes under climate change are likely to occur prior to a detectable range shift. Disturbances are expected to directly affect tree species abundance and composition, and could profoundly influence tree species spatial distribution within a geographical region. However, how multiple disturbance regimes will interact with changing climate to alter the spatial distribution of species abundance remains unclear. We simulated such forest demographic processes using a forest landscape succession and disturbance model (LANDIS-II) parameterized with forest inventory data in the northeastern United States. Our study incorporated climate change under a high-emission future and disturbance regimes varying with gradients of intensities and spatial extents. The results suggest that disturbances catalyze changes in tree species abundance and composition under a changing climate, but the effects of disturbances differ by intensity and extent. Moderate disturbances and large extent disturbances have limited effects, while high-intensity disturbances accelerate changes by removing cohorts of mid-and late-successional species, creating opportunities for early-successional species. High-intensity disturbances result in the northern movement of early-successional species and the southern movement of late-successional species abundances. Our study is among the first to systematically investigate how disturbance extent and intensity interact to determine the spatial distribution of changes in species abundance and forest composition. Lithium sulfur batteries (LSBs) have attracted tremendous attention owing to their high theoretical specific capacity and specific energy. However, their practical applications are hindered by poor cyclic life, mainly caused by polysulfide shuttling. The development of advanced materials to mitigate the polysulfide shuttling effect is urgently demanded. Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) have been exploited as multifunctional materials for the decoration of separators owing to their high surface area, structural diversity, tunable pore size, and easy tailor ability. In this review, we aim to present the state‐of‐the‐art MOF‐based separators for LSBs. Particular attention is paid to the rational design (pore aperture, metal node, functionality, and dimension) of MOFs with enhanced ability for anchoring polysulfides and facilitating Li+ transportation. Thin and oriented zeolite films are important for advanced separations, catalysis, and sensing. Strategies for tailoring zeolites for applications include controlling their crystal size, shape, and orientation. Here, three siliceous DDR zeolite ultrathin films with different orientations achieved by homoepitaxial growth from 60 nm‐sized seed particles are reported. The 0.5 µm thick membrane shows a separation selectivity of 400 for CO2–CH4 mixtures and CO2 permeance of 25 × 10‐7 mol m‐2 s‐1 Pa‐1 at 20 °C and 1 bar, leading to a record‐high performance among all reported DDR membranes. Furthermore, the seed nanoparticles are grown into mono‐dispersed DDR sub‐micron crystals with trigonal and tabular habits. These crystals are assembled in monolayers for the growth of ultrathin and uniformly (h0h)‐oriented and c‐oriented films with maximum surface pore diameter of 0.365 and 0.263 nm, respectively, by using the 1‐adamantanamine template in fluoride medium. The novel strategy not only provides high‐performance membrane candidates for industrial CO2 separation, but also inspires interfacial engineering, pore size, and orientation controlling for other microporous crystals, and their membranes. Therioaphis trifolii (Monell) is a well‐known pest in alfalfa cultivation in China. Individuals of T. trifolii were allowed to feed on 10 alfalfa cultivars and their growth, reproduction, and population life table parameters were estimated. Nymphs that fed on Hunter River had the longest development time, whereas nymphs that fed on Defu had the shortest development time. Adults that fed on Debao, Zhongmu No. 2, and Defu had the shortest development time, whereas adults that fed on Golden Empress and Hunter River had the longest development times. Individuals that fed on Zhungeer produced the greatest number of offspring (13.950), and those that fed on Hunter River produced the fewest offspring (6.000). The survival rate of T. trifolii was the highest on Algonquin and lowest on Hunter River, whereas the survival time was the longest on Golden Empress and shortest on Debao. The population that fed on Algonquin had the highest intrinsic growth rate (0.560) and shortest population doubling time (1.237 days), whereas those that fed on Hunter River had the lowest intrinsic growth rate (0.217) and longest population doubling time (3.194 days). The life table parameters of the experimental T. trifolii population were used to quantify the resistance strengths of the cultivars. Results indicate that the Hunter River cultivar may effectively resist damage from T. trifolii. This study provides a theoretical basis for breeding aphid‐resistant alfalfa cultivars, enabling further research into the prevention and control of aphid infestation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The tectonic evolution of the Paleo‐Jinshajiang Ocean, and in particular the time of its closure, is debated. Here we present new constraints on the evolution of this region from an integrated paleomagnetic and geochronologic study of the Late Triassic Batang Group volcanic rocks in Qamdo, Eastern Qiangtang Terrane (EQT). Two zircon U‐Pb ages indicate that the volcanic rocks erupted at ∼227–222 Ma. New paleomagnetic results yield a robust Late Triassic paleopole of 57.6°N, 176.4°E (A95 = 7.8°), corresponding to a paleolatitude of 32.5 ± 7.8°N for the study area. Integrated with other lines of paleomagnetic and geological evidence, we show that the northward drift of the EQT placed it at the same paleolatitude as the Tarim Block by ∼227–222 Ma, which suggests that the Paleo‐Jinshajiang Ocean in the Qamdo region closed before that time, and likely around ∼230 Ma. Plain Language Summary: The closure of the Paleo‐Jinshajiang Ocean, which was one of the most important ancient oceans of Asia, closed when the Qiangtang Terrane (QT) collided with the terranes now located to the north of it. However, the evolution of this ocean, and especially the timing of its closure, are still debated. The drift history of the QT is a key to understanding the evolution of the Paleo‐Jinshajiang Ocean. We present here new constraints on the evolution of this region from an integrated paleomagnetic and zircon U‐Pb geochronologic study of Late Triassic volcanic rocks in Qamdo, Eastern QT. A generalized Euler equation of pump as turbine is derived, and the transient hydraulic performance of a centrifugal pump as turbine during an atypical startup period is measured. Meanwhile, the dimensionless analysis and the additional theoretical head calculation are also conducted. It is found that the transient characteristics of pump as turbine during atypical startup period mainly come from the rotational acceleration effect, rather than the flow inertia effect. The final stable values of dimensionless flowrate coefficient and dimensionless head coefficient are both closely related to the steady rotating speed and flowrate after startup process, but the dimensionless power coefficient is not remarkably related to them. In an atypical startup, the impact phenomena occur in both flowrate curve and outlet static pressure curve. At the same steady rotating speed, the larger the steady flowrate is, the more serious the flowrate impact is. People in modern society are media multitaskers due to portable devices and omnipresent wireless networks, and college students are no exception. Previous studies have indicated that students' media multitasking behaviours in class harm their academic performances, and understanding the reasons for college students' engagement in such behaviour is meaningful. However, the literature takes media multitasking behaviour as an audience behaviour, which ignores the interaction between students and their surroundings. This study fills this gap by emphasizing the role of the social learning process. A survey was conducted in a public and comprehensive university in western China, and a total of 457 valid respondents were obtained. The results from PLS‐SEM revealed that college students' in‐class media multitasking behaviours were influenced by both observational learning (ie, imitating others) and reinforcement learning (ie, in‐class interventions), and this learning process was shaped by students' media multitasking self‐efficacy and self‐management of learning. These findings contribute to the current literature by providing a relatively new perspective for understanding college students' in‐class media multitasking behaviours, and suggestions about how to deal with such behaviours are also provided. Composite polymer electrolytes (CPEs) with smart, stimuli‐responsive characteristics have gained considerable attention owing to their noninvasive manipulation and applications in future technologies. To address this potential, in this work, we demonstrate photoresponsive composite polymer electrolytes, consisting of gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) and spiropyran‐immobilized nanoporous anodic aluminum oxide (SP‐AAO) templates. Under UV irradiation, the close SP form isomerizes to the open merocyanine (MC) form, creating extremely polarized AAO surfaces; whereas, under visible light irradiation, the MC form reverts to the SP form, creating neutral surface conditions. The electrostatic interactions between ions and AAO surfaces are investigated by attenuated total reflection Fourier‐transform infrared (ATR‐FTIR) spectroscopy. Moreover, the behavior of ionic conductivity of the GPE@SP‐AAO is found to be consistent with the kinetics of isomerization tracked by UV‐Vis spectroscopy. The combustion characteristic of mold fluxes is extremely important for the high‐quality slabs and the smooth casting process, which is directly determined by the type and content of carbon materials. Herein, the physicochemical properties and combustion characteristics of carbon materials are investigated by field emission scanning electron microscopy, X‐ray diffraction, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller theory, and thermogravimetry (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), followed by the influences of carbon materials on the combustion and melting behavior of mold fluxes. The results show that: 1) the fixed carbon content in single‐carbon materials and carbon‐added mold fluxes can be determined by TG curves; 2) the combustion temperature ranges and the combustion reaction time of single‐carbon materials and carbon‐added mold fluxes can be characterized by DSC curves; and 3) the combustion characteristics of carbon are influenced by mold fluxes, leading to a shorter combustion reaction time. The reduction of combustion reaction time for 1# and 2# being 7.5 and 8.2 min is much larger than that of 2.4 min for 3#. Finally, the melting behavior of mold fluxes is influenced by carbon, especially the melting temperature, flowing temperature, and the melting time, showing an increase trend. Gas sensors based on metal oxides semiconductor (MOS) have attracted extensive attention from both academic and industry. ZnO, as a typical MOS, exhibits potential applications in toxic gas detection, owning to its wide band gap, n‐type transport characteristic and excellent electrical performance. Meanwhile, doping is an effective way to improve the sensing performance of ZnO materials. In this review, the effects of different types of doping on morphology, crystal structure, band gap and depletion layer of ZnO materials are comprehensively discussed. Theoretical analysis on the strategies for enhancing the sensing properties of ZnO is also provided. We conducted a time‐dependent study of cholesterol (Ch) nucleation to investigate the effect of calcium ions in the moderate supersaturated bile. In taurocholate/lecithin (TC/L) bile at a TC to L ratio of 5.1, the presence of calcium ions enhanced the nucleation rate of Ch. Contrarily, we observed the delayed nucleation of Ch after ~30 days in TC/L bile at a ratio of 2.0, regardless of the calcium ions. From the physical chemistry standpoint, the cholesterol activity (ChAT) is believed to be the driving force for Ch nucleation together with the sufficient nucleation sites. Hence, the micellar formation models along with the binding of TC monomers to calcium ions interpreted the time‐dependent results. Furthermore, a quasielastic light–scattering technique detected the formation of micelles and vesicles. In conclusion, the presence of calcium ions in TC/L bile at a high ratio enhances the vesicle appearance for nucleation sites and the high ChAT values for fast nucleation rate of Ch. However, an increase in the L concentration (i.e., low ratio bile) plays a significant role in the prevention of Ch gallstone formation, compared to the decrease in calcium ion concentration. Polytitanocarbosilane (TiPCS)‐derived ceramic membranes were fabricated using a pre‐ceramic polymer. Special attention was focused on a process of thermal‐oxidative curing that was used to induce cross‐linking and the effect of this process on the ceramic yield, thermal stability, oxidation resistance, and microstructure of TiPCS. The cross‐linked TiPCS powders showed a ceramic yield and thermal stability that were higher than that from the non‐cross‐linked version. In addition, the cross‐linked TiPCS with uniform micropores showed higher levels of N2 and CO2 adsorption capacity, BET surface area, and micropore volume than the non‐cross‐linked versions, and the cross‐linking process enhanced the stability of the pore structure at high temperature. The cross‐linked TiPCS membranes showed high H2 permeance (1.49 × 10−6 mol/(m2 s Pa)) with sub‐nanopores (H2/SF6 selectivity: 12 000, H2/N2: 10), and in addition higher oxidation resistance than their non‐cross‐linked counterparts. Furthermore, the influence of the concentration of the TiPCS precursor coating solution was optimized and the hydrothermal stability of the membranes at high temperatures was also evaluated. The optimized membrane demonstrated great performance for the pervaporation removal of methanol in binary azeotropic systems of either MeOH/butyl acetate or MeOH/toluene, and it also showed high hydrothermal stability with excellent dehumidification performance under high temperatures. Surface properties are essential for substrates exhibiting high sensitivity in surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) applications. In this work, novel SERS hybrid substrates using polystyrene‐block‐poly(methyl methacrylate) and anodic aluminum oxide templates is presented. The hybrid substrates not only possess hierarchical porous nanostructures but also exhibit superhydrophilic surface properties with the water contact angle ≈0°. Such surfaces play an important role in providing uniform enhanced intensities over large areas (relative standard deviation ≈10%); moreover, these substrates are found to be highly sensitive (limit of detection ≈10−12m for rhodamine 6G (R6G)). The results show that the hybrid SERS substrates can achieve the simultaneous detection of multicomponent mixtures of different target molecules, such as R6G, crystal violet, and methylene blue. Ternary chalcogenide silver gallium sulfide (AgGaS2), which has an orthorhombic structure, was already synthesized. However, the feasibility of using the crystal for hydrogen production through photocatalytic water splitting has not been explored. Here, we systematically investigated the structural, electronic, optical, and transport properties of XGaS2 (X = Ag or Cu) with orthorhombic structure by using the first principles calculations. The band alignments indicate that all calculated absolute potentials of the valence and conduction band edges met the requirement of photocatalytic water splitting reaction. The presence of 2.64 and 2.56 eV direct band energy gaps and obvious optical absorption within the visible light range imply that XGaS2 can correspond to solar light. Moreover, the large electron mobility and the obvious differences between electron mobility and hole mobility were identified in XGaS2 structures, which is beneficial to the photocatalytic performance of the water splitting reaction. The present findings can provide a helpful reference for developing novel photocatalytic materials with XGaS2 for hydrogen generation from water splitting under irradiation of visible light. Aim: To highlight a potential dynamic interaction between intestinal bacteria (IB) and metabolites that might contribute to liver regeneration (LR). Methods: Male Sprague–Dawley rats were subjected to surgical removal of two‐thirds of the liver and samples were collected over a 14‐day period. Intestinal community and metabolic profiles were characterized to establish their potential interactions during liver regeneration. Results: Partial hepatectomy caused fluctuating changes in the gut microbiome, which paralleled the biological processes of LR. Briefly, the enhanced cell proliferation occurring within 30–48 h was associated with a decreased ratio of Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes reflected by a reduction in Ruminococcaceae and Lachnospiraceae, and an increase in Bacteroidaceae, Rikenellaceae, and Porphyromonadaceae, which was indicative of a lean phenotype. The microbiota derived from rats at 12–24 h and 3–14 days were characterized by elevated F/B ratios, suggesting the differing energy extract behaviors of microbiota during the course of LR. Functional changes of the shifted microbiota revealed by PICRUSt software confirmed the pyrosequencing results. The microbiome derived from hour 12 rats showed overpresentation of metabolism‐related modules. In contrast, the microbiome derived from day 2 rats was functionally unique in "replication and repair", "amino acid metabolism," and "nucleoid metabolism." Upon examining the dynamic pattern of metabolic response, the specific pathways, including glycerophospholipid metabolism, taurine, and hypotaurine metabolism, were identified to be attributable to the systemic alterations in LR‐related metabolism. Moreover, our data indicated that several key functional bacteria were strongly related to perturbations of the above pathways. Development of N‐doped carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with a hollow structure is extremely important for its application to electrochemical catalysis and energy storage. Here we demonstrate a facile synthesis of N‐doped CNTs from direct pyrolysis of a mixture of nickel salt (or nickel / cobalt salts), glucose and dicyandiamide, in which both the N‐doping process and the synthesis of carbon nanotubes are completed. The resulting hybrid N−C composites with high N doping contents show an emblematic tubular morphological structure revealing a hollow interior. Nickel salt is found to be an essential growth catalyst of these N‐doped CNTs and the as‐obtained tubular structure is about 27 nm in diameter in the presence of nickel and cobalt salts. All the as‐prepared catalysts display a comparable onset potential and high current density for ORR compared to Pt/C both in acidic and in alkaline media. Ni−Co/C−N‐HT catalyst even displays an extremely high ORR limiting current density of 7.17 mA cm ‐2@1600 rpm in acidic media, which is more than 1.3 times larger than the Pt/C. ORR in acidic solution takes place via a four‐electron mechanism. And for most of the catalysts a four‐electron mechanism of ORR in alkaline medium also prevails over a two‐electron mechanism. C−N 1D nanoparticles with a distinguishable hollow tubular structure were prepared via a facile one‐step pyrolysis by using dicyandiamide as the nitrogen source. The prepared catalysts present excellent ORR performance whether in an alkaline solution or an acidic solution, characterized by high limiting diffusion current density and comparable ORR onset potential to Pt/C. Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) play a key role in exchanging cargoes between cells in tumour microenvironment. This study aimed to elucidate the functions and mechanisms of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) derived sEV‐clathrin light chain A (CLTA) in remodelling microvascular niche. CLTA level in the circulating sEVs of HCC patients was analysed by enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The functions of sEV‐CLTA in affecting HCC cancerous properties were examined by multiple functional assays. Mass spectrometry was used to identify downstream effectors of sEV‐CLTA in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Tube formation, sprouting, trans‐endothelial invasion and vascular leakiness assays were performed to determine the functions of sEV‐CLTA and its effector, basigin (BSG) in HUVECs. BSG inhibitor, SP‐8356, was tested in a mouse model of patient‐derived xenografts (PDXs). Circulating sEVs of HCC patients had markedly enhanced CLTA levels than control individuals and were reduced in patients after surgery. HCC derived sEV‐CLTA enhanced HCC cancerous properties, disrupted endothelial integrity and induced angiogenesis. Mechanistically, CLTA remodels microvascular niche by stabilizing and upregulating BSG. Last, SP‐8356 alone or in combination with sorafenib attenuated PDXs growth. The study reveals the role of HCC derived sEV‐CLTA in microvascular niche formation. Inhibition of CLTA and its mediated pathway may illuminate a new therapeutic strategy for HCC patients. Abstract: In recent years, flipped learning has received tremendous attention from educational practitioners and researchers. However, this study argues that existing e‐learning systems mainly serve for learning management and content delivery purposes, although they lack support for flipped learning. As an innovative educational approach, flipped learning requires more pedagogical elements, such as integrated instructional design and adaptive content delivery, to achieve effective direct instruction. This study aims to create a learning adaptivity design to support effective learning in the flipped individual learning space in which the teacher is absent. Because teaching involves various pedagogical and content knowledge sources, we propose a conceptual model of teaching as a function of the knowledge triad of Guideline (G), Teaching Activity (T), and Material (M). To realize this conceptualization, an ontological problem‐solving approach is used for knowledge‐based systems development to integrate the relevant knowledge sources. The knowledge model is created using the Protégé platform to develop OWL‐based domain ontology, task ontology, and SWRL‐based semantic rules to enable inference in the GTM triad for learning adaptivity. Atherogenic risk factors, such as hypercholesterolemia, are associated with increased risk of neurodegeneration, especially Alzheimer's dementia. Human plasma electronegative low-density lipoprotein [ LDL(−)], especially L5, may serve as an important contributing factor. L5 promoting an inflammatory action in atherosclerosis has been extensively studied. However, the role of L5 in inducing neuroinflammation remains unknown. Here, we examined the impact of L5 on immune activation and cell viability in cultured BV-2 microglia. BV-2 cells treated with lipopolysaccharide or human LDLs (L1, L5, or ox LDL) were subjected to molecular/biochemical assays for measuring microglial activation, levels of inflammatory factors, and cell survival. A transwell BV-2/N2a co-culture was used to assess N2a cell viability following BV-2 cell exposure to L5. We found that L5 enables the activation of microglia and elicits an inflammatory response, as evidenced by increased oxygen/nitrogen free radicals (nitric oxide, reactive oxygen species, and peroxides), elevated tumor necrosis factor-α levels, decreased basal interleukin-10 levels, and augmented production of pro-inflammatory proteins (inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2). L5 also triggered BV-2 cell death primarily via apoptosis. These effects were markedly disrupted by the application of signaling pathway inhibitors, thus demonstrating that L5 interacts with Toll-like receptor 4 to modulate multiple pathways, including MAPKs, PI3K/Akt, and NF-κB. Decreased N2a cell viability in a transwell co-culture was mainly ascribed to L5-induced BV-2 cell activation. Together, our data suggest that L5 creates a neuroinflammatory stress via microglial Toll-like receptor 4, thereby leading to the death of BV-2 microglia and coexistent N2a cells. In China, a large burden of gastric cancer has remained, and endoscopic screening was expected to reduce gastric cancer mortality. Therefore, a population-based case-control study was conducted to evaluate the screening effect. The gastric cancer screening program was initiated in Linzhou in the year 2005, and endoscopic examination with indicative biopsy, for residents aged 40-69 years, was used to detect early cancer and precancerous lesion. In this study, cases were defined as individuals who had died of gastric cancer, which were selected from Linzhou Cancer Registry database. Controls were residents (six per case), who had not died of gastric cancer, from the same area as the case, and matched by gender and age (±2 years). The exposure status, whether cases and controls ever attended the screening or not, was acquired by inspecting the well-documented screening records. Conditional logistic regression model was used to estimate the odds ratios ( OR) and their 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). A total of 313 cases and 1876 controls were included in our analysis. Compared with subjects who never participated in screening, the overall OR for individuals who ever participated in screening was 0.72(95% CI: 0.54-0.97). The OR for lag time 4 years or longer was 0.68(95% CI: 0.47-0.98) and the OR for those who were aged 50-59 years were 0.56 (0.37-0.85). The results suggest a 28% reduction in risk of gastric cancer mortality by endoscopic screening, which may have significant implications for gastric cancer screening in rural areas of China. Aerobic glycolysis is critical for the energy metabolism of cancer cells. This study focuses on the regulation of forkhead box A2 (FOXA2) on pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) and their effects on the glycolytic activity and malignant phenotype of thyroid carcinoma (THCA) cells. By analysing four Gene Expression Omnibus datasets and querying bioinformatics systems, we obtained FOXA2 as a poorly expressed transcription factor in THCA. Later, we validated decreased mRNA and protein levels of FOXA2 in THCA cells by quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blot assays. FOXA2 upregulation in THCA cells suppressed the glucose uptake and lactate production, and it reduced the extracellular acidification rate, but increased the oxygen consumption rate of cells. Meanwhile, the FOXA2 overexpression blocked the proliferation and mobility, and the tumourigenic activity of cancer cells. The chromatin immunoprecipitation and luciferase assays showed that FOXA2 bound to PKM2 promoter and suppressed the transcription of PKM2, which was highly expressed in THCA cells. Further upregulation of PKM2 elevated the β‐catenin, c‐Myc and cyclin D1 levels and restored the glycolytic activity as well as the malignant properties of cancer cells. Collectively, this work reveals that FOXA2 suppresses aerobic glycolysis and progression of THCA by blocking PKM2 transcription and inactivating the Wnt/β‐catenin pathway. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper aims to investigate the low dimming switch stress of a light-emitting diode (LED) driver. Most dimmable LED drivers contain a series dimming switch with a LED string to implement a pulse-width modulation-dimming function. However, this setup causes the dimming switch to suffer from high voltage stress in the dimming interval. To reduce the voltage stress of a dimming switch, a low switch stress scheme is presented. The dimming circuit is parallel with the LED string. Using proper arrangement and design of the parameters, the dimming circuit changes the feedback status, which results in the output driving voltage varying between a constant current and a fixed voltage operation. These two operating conditions also make the LED string turn on/off alternately and consequently and perform the dimming function. The dimming switch acts by altering the feedback path instead of cutting off the main power flow; hence, it does not need a power level switch. Details of the operating principles and design considerations are discussed in this study. Four dinuclear copper( II) complexes, Cu2( L1 -4)4·( CH3OH)2( 1-4) ( HL1 = m-anisic acid, HL2 = p-anisic acid, HL3 = m-toluic acid, HL4 = p-toluic acid) were synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and X-ray powder and single crystal diffraction. All of the complexes are consisting of two Cu( II) cations, four L ligands and two methanol molecules, in which the L ligands are coordinated with copper cations by bidentate bridging coordination mode. There exists hydrogen bond interaction or CH...π interaction in the complexes, forming three-dimensional network structures. Changing the shape of the blade trailing edge profile of a centrifugal pump is one of the effective means to improve the internal unsteady flow and pressure pulsation of a centrifugal pump. In this paper, the effect of four shapes of the blade trailing edge profile on the internal nonconstant pressure pulsation and internal flow of a multistage centrifugal pump is investigated by numerical simulation. The four types of blade trailing edges include prototype impeller (original trailing edge), pressure surface cut (ellipse on pressure side [EPS]), suction surface cut (ellipse on suction side [ESS]), and two‐side cut (ellipse on both sides). The results show that reasonable cutting of the trailing edge of the blade can reduce the pressure pulsation of the centrifugal pump. By comparing the pressure pulsation at fBPF, we found that the blade trailing edge profile can change the pressure pulsation. When the speed decreases, the periodicity of pressure pulsation becomes worse and the amplitude of pressure pulsation at fBPF decreases. The static pressure distribution at the trailing edge of the blade shows that EPS and ESS can effectively reduce the area of the high‐pressure gradient region at the trailing edge of the blade, and the dynamic–static interference effect is weakened, which leads to a lower pressure pulsation amplitude. The distribution of turbulent energy in different blade trailing edge centrifugal pumps corresponds to the distribution of static pressure in different blade trailing edge centrifugal pumps, further demonstrating the reliability of the static pressure distribution. Underwater acoustic multi‐target tracking using bearing, Doppler and a conventional filtering method to determine the target location has problems such as low precision and inaccurate identification. Target echo time broadening is used first for the tracking process. The length of the target can be derived from the echo broadening, and the target length is obtained as a parameter by expectation–maximisation derivation, thereby increasing the dimension of the measurement for the estimation. Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), renowned for their porous and tunable functionalities, hold significant potential for enhancing perovskite photovoltaic. However, the influence of MOF, particularly those with balanced cations in the pores, on the conversion of bottom‐layer PbI2 and the distribution of MOFs within perovskite remains underexplored. Herein, a newly synthesized Yttrium (Y)‐MOF material is introduced, featuring dimethylamine (DMA) as balanced cations within its pores and strong absorption in UV regime, to modify perovskite films. Y‐MOF, rich in oxygen and nitrogen sites, and featuring DMA within its pores, can passivate uncoordinated Pb2+ in perovskite. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and grazing incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering (GIWAXS) analysis of the top and bottom surfaces for pristine and Y‐MOF‐assisted perovskite samples reveal that the presence of PbI2 in the Y‐MOF‐assisted perovskite films is negligible. In situ UV–vis analyses demonstrate that the incorporation of Y‐MOF decelerates the crystallization kinetics of perovskite, facilitating the development of larger perovskite grains. Moreover, GIWAXS experiments conducted at different angles reveal the predominant bottom distribution of Y‐MOF within the perovskite, which effectively mitigates the impact of ultraviolet light on the perovskite. Background: Although B‐acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL) patients' survival has been improved dramatically, some cases still relapse. This study aimed to explore the prognosis‐related novel differentially expressed genes (DEGs) for predicting the overall survival (OS) of children and young adults (CAYAs) with B‐ALL and analyze the immune‐related factors contributing to poor prognosis. Methods: GSE48558 and GSE79533 from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and clinical sample information and mRNA‐seq from Therapeutically Applicable Research to Generate Effective Treatments (TARGET) database were retrieved. Prognosis‐related key genes were enrolled to build a Cox proportional model using multivariate Cox regression. Five‐year OS of patients, clinical characteristic relevance and clinical independence were assessed based on the model. The mRNA levels of prognosis‐related genes were validated in our samples and the difference of immune cells composition between high‐risk and low‐risk patients were compared. Results: One hundred and twelve DEGs between normal B cells and B‐ALL cells were identified based on GSE datasets. They were mainly participated in protein binding and HIF‐1 signaling pathway. One hundred and eighty‐nine clinical samples were enrolled in the study, both Kaplan–Meier (KM) analysis and univariate Cox regression analysis showed that CYBB, BCL2A1, IFI30, and EFNB1 were associated with prognosis, CYBB, BCL2A1, and EFNB1 were used to construct prognostic risk model. Moreover, compared to clinical indicators, the three‐gene signature was an independent prognostic factor for CAYAs with B‐ALL. Finally, the mRNA levels of CYBB, BCL2A1, and EFNB1 were significantly lower in B‐ALL group as compared to controls. The high‐risk group had a significantly higher percentage of infiltrated immune cells. Conclusion: We constructed a novel three‐gene signature with independent prognostic factor for predicting 5‐year OS of CAYAs with B‐ALL. Additionally, we discovered the difference of immune cells composition between high‐risk and low‐risk groups. Accurately identifies the cellular composition of complex tissues, which is critical for understanding disease pathogenesis, early diagnosis, and prevention. However, current methods for deconvoluting bulk RNA sequencing (RNA‐seq) typically rely on matched single‐cell RNA sequencing (scRNA‐seq) as a reference, which can be limiting due to differences in sequencing distribution and the potential for invalid information from single‐cell references. Hence, a novel computational method named SCROAM is introduced to address these challenges. SCROAM transforms scRNA‐seq and bulk RNA‐seq into a shared feature space, effectively eliminating distributional differences in the latent space. Subsequently, cell‐type‐specific expression matrices are generated from the scRNA‐seq data, facilitating the precise identification of cell types within bulk tissues. The performance of SCROAM is assessed through benchmarking against simulated and real datasets, demonstrating its accuracy and robustness. To further validate SCROAM's performance, single‐cell and bulk RNA‐seq experiments are conducted on mouse spinal cord tissue, with SCROAM applied to identify cell types in bulk tissue. Results indicate that SCROAM is a highly effective tool for identifying similar cell types. An integrated analysis of liver cancer and primary glioblastoma is then performed. This article discusses a study on gene editing in Salvia miltiorrhiza, a plant used in Eastern medicine to treat cardiovascular diseases. The researchers developed a protoplast regeneration system for S. miltiorrhiza using CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology. Summary: Brown root rot (BRR) caused by Phellinus noxius is a destructive tree disease in tropical and subtropical areas. To understand how BRR affects the composition of the plant rhizoplane‐enriched microbiota, the microbiomes within five root‐associated compartments (i.e., bulk soil, old/young root rhizosphere soil, old/young root tissue) of Ficus trees naturally infected by P. noxius were investigated. The level of P. noxius infection was determined by quantitative PCR. Illumina sequencing of the internal transcribed spacer and 16S rRNA revealed that P. noxius infection caused a significant reduction in fungal diversity in the bulk soil, the old root rhizosphere soil, and the old root tissue. Interestingly, Cosmospora was the only fungal genus positively correlated with P. noxius. The abundance and composition of dominant bacterial taxa such as Actinomadura, Bacillus, Rhodoplanes, and Streptomyces differed between BRR‐diseased and healthy samples. Furthermore, 838 isolates belonging to 26 fungal and 35 bacterial genera were isolated and tested for interactions with P. noxius. Antagonistic activities were observed for isolates of Bacillus, Pseudomonas, Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Trichoderma. Cellophane overlay and cellulose/lignin utilization assays suggested that Cosmospora could tolerate the secretions of P. noxius and that the degradation of lignin by P. noxius may create suitable conditions for Cosmorpora growth. Synthesis of formate from hydrogenation of carbon dioxide (CO2) is an atom‐economic reaction but is confronted with challenges in developing high‐performance non‐precious metal catalysts for application of the process. Herein, we report a highly durable edge‐rich molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) catalyst for CO2 hydrogenation to formate at 200 °C, which delivers a high selectivity of over 99 % with a superior turnover frequency of 780.7 h−1 surpassing those of previously reported non‐precious metal catalysts. Multiple experimental characterization techniques combined with theoretical calculations reveal that sulfur vacancies at MoS2 edges are the active sites and the selective production of formate is enabled via a completely new water‐mediated hydrogenation mechanism, in which surface OH* and H* species in dynamic equilibrium with water serve as moderate hydrogenating agents for CO2 with residual O* reduced by hydrogen. Herein, we report a highly durable edge‐rich molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) catalyst for CO2 hydrogenation to formate at 200 °C, which delivers a high selectivity of over 99 % with a superior turnover frequency of 780.7 h−1 surpassing those of previously reported non‐precious metal catalysts. Multiple experimental characterization techniques combined with theoretical calculations reveal that sulfur vacancies at MoS2 edges are the active sites and the selective production of formate is enabled via a completely new water‐mediated hydrogenation mechanism, in which surface OH* and H* species in dynamic equilibrium with water serve as moderate hydrogenating agents for CO2 with residual O* reduced by hydrogen. Our aim was to investigate the effect of artificial liver blood purification treatment on the survival of severe/critical patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19). A total of 101 severe and critical patients with coronavirus SARS‐CoV‐2 infection were enrolled in this open, case‐control, multicenter, prospective study. According to the patients' and their families' willingness, they were divided into two groups. One was named the treatment group, in which the patients received artificial liver therapy plus comprehensive treatment (n = 50), while the other was named the control group, in which the patients received only comprehensive treatment (n = 51). Clinical data and laboratory examinations, as well as the 28‐day mortality rate, were collected and analyzed. Baseline data comparisons on average age, sex, pre‐treatment morbidity, initial symptoms, vital signs, pneumonia severity index score, blood routine examination and biochemistry indices etc. showed no difference between the two groups. Cytokine storm was detected, with a significant increase of serum interleukin‐6 (IL‐6) level. The serum IL‐6 level decreased from 119.94 to 20.49 pg/mL in the treatment group and increased from 40.42 to 50.81 pg/mL in the control group (P <.05), indicating that artificial liver therapy significantly decreased serum IL‐6. The median duration of viral nucleic acid persistence was 19 days in the treatment group (ranging from 6 to 67 days) and 17 days in the control group (ranging from 3 to 68 days), no significant difference was observed (P =.36). As of 28‐day follow‐up,17 patients in the treatment group experienced a median weaning time of 24 days, while 11 patients in the control group experienced a median weaning time of 35 days, with no significant difference between the two groups (P =.33). The 28‐day mortality rates were 16% (8/50) in the treatment group and 50.98% (26/51) in the control group, with a significant difference (z = 3.70, P <.001). Cytokine storm is a key factor in the intensification of COVID‐19 pneumonia. The artificial liver therapy blocks the cytokine storm by clearing inflammatory mediators, thus preventing severe cases from progressing to critically ill stages and markedly reducing short‐term mortality. The signal‐noise ratio plays a key role in acquiring plentiful chemical structural information in the Raman spectrometer. The miniature spectrometer is generally compact at the expense of performance. In this work, we proposed a compact, signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) enhancement of the Raman spectrometer by the optimization of optical structure and a noise reduction method. Concerning its optical structure, the Raman spectrometer is increasing the intensity by adding an off‐the‐shelf cylindrical lens. On the other side of the algorithm, a relevant automatic denoising method of convolutional denoising autoencoder (CDAE) is proposed to further advance the SNR in Raman spectra without manual intervention. The results indicate the performance of the compact Raman spectrometer could increase to a certain extent by testing with 785 nm laser and Ne/Ar source. Besides, by using CDAE to deal with contaminated Raman spectra, a higher SNR is obtained. The results demonstrate that the improvement of the hardware and algorithm is effective for removing the noisy Raman signal and achieving higher SNR. This result may be helpful in further improving the performance of integrated Raman spectrometers and research on miniaturized instruments. In consideration of signal to noise ratio(SNR) is related to signal intensity and noise level, we hope to improve SNR through optic structure optimization and develop a denoising algorithm. Objective: Brain injury is implicated in pathogenesis of postoperative delirium (POD) and cognitive dysfunction (POCD). S100A12 is involved in inflammatory process and is recently known as a biomarker for brain injury. Herein, we clarified whether serum S100A12 levels are related to POD and POCD after hip fracture surgery in elderly patients. Materials and Methods: In this prospective, observational study, we gauged S100A12 levels in preoperative and postoperative serum from 186 patients and serum from 186 controls. Patients were categorized according to the presence of POD and POCD. Results: Postoperative, but not preoperative serum S100A12 levels were significantly higher in patients than in controls. There was a positive and independent correlation between postoperative C‐reactive protein and S100A12 levels (t = 8.797, p < 0.001). Postoperative S10012 levels and age were independently associated with the risk of developing POD (S100A12 levels: odds ratio [OR] = 1.166, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.045–2.087, p = 0.001; age: OR = 1.243, 95% CI = 1.073–1.419, p = 0.012) and POCD (S100A12: OR = 1.157, 95% CI = 1.030–1.986, p = 0.003; age: OR = 1.228, 95% CI = 1.054–1.387, p = 0.014). In terms of area under receiver operating characteristic curve, postoperative S100A12 levels had a higher predictive ability than age and their combination dramatically exceeded that of each one alone. Conclusions: Postoperative elevated serum S100A12 levels have a strong relation to inflammation and are associated independently with the development of POD and POCD, substantializing serum S100A12 as a potential biomarker for predicting POD and POCD in elderly patients undergoing hip fracture surgery. A one‐pot strategy for the synthesis of substituted isocoumarin, flavone, and isoquinolinedione derivatives through a switchable C‐arylation/lactonization or SNAr reaction from a wide range of soft nucleophiles and o‐quinol acetates has been developed. This base‐mediated protocol proceeds under transition‐metal‐free conditions and selectively affords various heteroarenes in 13–98% yields from readily prepared or commercially available 1,3‐dicarbonyl and α‐EWG‐substituted carbonyl compounds. The synthetic utility is further demonstrated in the synthesis of potential anti‐HIV and anti‐coronavirus derivatives and COX‐2 inhibitors.
