The COVID-19 epidemic has brought attention to the vulnerability of new illnesses, and immunization remains a viable option for resuming normal life. This paper examines the influence of COVID-19 vaccination on the death rate and the performance of stock market in India. For this study, COVID-19 vaccination and death rate data is gathered from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) portal, and the data for the stock index is taken from the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), India. In order to achieve a precise representation of feature significance and distribution, EDA (Exploratory Data Analysis) is utilized in this study. The impact of COVID-19 immunization on the mortality rate and stock market index is investigated using both statistical analysis and Machine Learning Regression-based models. The models are remarkably accurate in reproducing actual result. The empirical study suggests that vaccination has a strong positive impact on the stock market and reducing the death rate. India is severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and is facing an unprecedented public health emergency. While the country's immediate measures focus on combating the coronavirus spread, it is important to investigate the impacts of the current crisis on India's renewable energy transition and air quality. India's economic slowdown is mainly compounded by the collapse of global oil prices and the erosion of global energy demand. A clean energy transition is a key step in enabling the integration of energy and climate. Millions in India are affected owing to fossil fuel pollution and the increasing climate heating that has led to inconceivable health impacts. This paper attempts to study the impact of COVID-19 on India's climate and renewable energy transitions through machine learning algorithms. India is observing a massive collapse in energy demand during the lockdown as its coal generation is suffering the worst part of the ongoing pandemic. During this current COVID-19 crisis, the renewable energy sector benefits from its competitive cost and the Indian government's must-run status to run generators based on renewable energy sources. In the last decade, air pollution has become one of the vital environmental issues and has expanded its wings day by day. Prediction of air quality plays a crucial role in warning people about the air quality levels. With the help of this, we can make the proper mechanism for reducing the overall impact of bad air quality on individuals' health. In this paper, we are focused on developing a mechanistic and quantitative prediction model for the prediction of the Air Quality Index (AQI) and Air Pollutant Concentration (NOx) levels with a clear environmental interpretation. The proposed model is based on the Linear Regression based Recursive Feature Elimination with Random Forest Regression (RFERF). For the experimental analysis, the seven well-established machine learning models have been taken, and these models are compared with our proposed model to find out their suitability and correctness. The Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), mean absolute error (MAE), mean squared error (MSE), root mean squared error (RMSE), and Coefficient of Determination (R2 score) have been used to validate the performance of prediction models. For the prediction of AQI and NOx, the data of the Central Pollution Control Board of India has been taken. The proposed model performs superior as compared to other prediction models with better accuracy and a higher prediction rate. This work also explains that linking machine learning with sensor-generated AQI data for air quality prediction is an adequate and appropriate way to solve some related environment glitches. The advent of internet has led to prodigious growth in popularity of social media platforms for people to communicate and opinionate on topics of their interests. And, terroristic events being a topic of national importance, receives enormous response from the citizens. Unfortunately, miscreants with anti-national agendas incite the large available audience on these platforms against the country by inducing anti-national content amid terrorist attacks. The social media platforms being of informal use are commonly observed to have users opinionating using multiple languages in same sentence called code-mixing. The over-arching goal of research done is to identify anti-national code-mix textual content on YouTube in the form of comments on terrorism-related videos. We collected YouTube comments on videos related to terroristic events in Kashmir region of India, which consisted of code-mix comments in Hindi (native language of India) and English languages. The paper presents a novel deep-learning-based transformer model HE-CM-BERT, i.e. Hindi-English code-mix BERT, where we extend the vocabulary of pre-trained multilingual BERT with code-mix vocabulary extracted from the collected data to automate the detection of anti-national code-mix text. Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and Thyroid are the major coexistent autoimmune disorders affecting people globally. Due to prolonged chronic mental stress in the modern lifestyle, Thyroid disorder is affecting all age groups and people with Thyroid disorder have an increased risk of developing DM complications. Because, abnormal Thyroid dysfunction can have dreadful effects on blood glucose control and can affect the course of DM. This paper proposes a Medical Expert system to assist clinicians in predicting the prevalence of developing autoimmune DM more precisely in patients suffering from Thyroid and further helps to investigate better in the line of improving public health. In this work, Fuzzy logic based inference system and unsupervised machine learning algorithms are used to discover associations and dependencies between Thyroid and DM. The inferred knowledge base is used to design Fuzzy based Expert system. To develop a more realistic expert system, blood sample reports of people affected by DM and Thyroid disorder have been collected from various Endocrine centres in Andhra Pradesh, India. The forecast of electricity demand in recent years is becoming increasingly relevant because of market deregulation and the introduction of renewable resources. To meet the emerging challenges, advanced intelligent models are built to ensure precise power forecasts for multi-time horizons. The use of intelligent forecasting algorithms is a key feature of smart grids and an effective tool of resolving uncertainty for better cost and energy efficiency decisions like scheduling the generations, reliability and power optimization of the system, and economic smart grid operations. However, prediction accuracy in forecasting algorithms is highly demanded since many important activities of power operators like load dispatch depend upon the short-term forecast. This paper proposes a model for the estimation of the consumption of electricity in Agartala, Tripura in India, which can accurately predict the next 24 h of load with and estimation of load for 1 week to 1 month. A number of specific characteristics in the city have been analysed in order to extract variables that could affect the pattern of electricity consumption directly. In addition, the present paper shows the way to significantly improve the accuracy of the prediction through ensemble machine learning process. We demonstrated the performance of individual Random forest and XGBoost along with their ensemble. The RF and XGBoost ensemble obtained an accuracy with an improvement of 15–29%. Depressive disorders (including major depressive disorder and dysthymia) and anxiety (generalized anxiety disorder or GAD) disorders are the two most prevalent mental illnesses. Early diagnosis of these afflictions can lead to cost-effective treatment with a better outcome prospectus. With the advent of digital technology and platforms, people express themselves by various means, such as social media posts, blogs, journals, instant messaging services, etc. Text remains the most common and convenient form of expression. Therefore, it can be used to predict the onset of anxiety and depression. Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases were used to retrieve the relevant literature using a set of predefined search strings. Irrelevant publications were filtered using multiple criteria. The research meta data was subsequently analyzed using the Biblioshiny Tool of R. Finally, a comparative analysis of most suitable documents is presented. A total of 103 documents were used for bibliometric mapping in terms of research outcome over the past years, productivity of authors, institutions, and countries, collaborations, trend topics, keyword co-occurrence, etc. Neural networks and support vector machines are the most popular ML techniques; word embeddings are extensively used for text representations. There is a shift toward using multiple modalities. SVM, Naive Bayes, and LSTM are the most used ML methods; social media is the most used source of data (Twitter is the most common platform); and audio is the most used modality that is combined with text for depressive and anxiety disorders (DAD) detection. Text data provides good cues for the detection of DAD using machine learning. However, the findings in most of the cases are based on a limited amount of data. Using large amounts of data with other modalities can help develop more generalized DAD-detection systems. Asian countries are leading in the research output with China and India being the top countries in terms of the number of research publications. However, more international collaborations are needed. Deficits in social verbal communication in individuals with Social Communication Disorder (SCD) is of concern and SCD in the human community is prevalent in large population throughout the globe. Deficits in verbal social communication are prevalent in a large population. This paper aimed to propose internet connected multi-system architecture which is capable to support verbal communication in a social environment for individuals with social communication deficits. Implementation methodology was included with corpus collection for specific communication, deep learning based machine training for intelligent communication, and implementation of the trained algorithm on internet connected electronic multiple social communication devices. The implemented system is smart enough to initiate and maintain two types of communication; the first type includes communication between multiple individuals on the remote location and the second type includes communication with the individual present in the physical listening range. The system was investigated in terms of its algorithmic parameters and found 97% to 100% in terms of training and testing accuracy with negligible mean squared error. Vocal-Friend analysed results based on audio-bot simulative conditions provide more than 91% accuracy, interaction rate and fallback rate. On the basis of the satisfaction analysis, above average results were noticed. In terms of technical implementations and satisfaction analysis, results found acceptable with above average score. Proposed framework is easy to use by caregivers with even having little knowledge. Support individual with deficit to learn social verbal communication skill to survive in society. Accurate prediction of rainfall can save farmers from crop damage as erratic rains in India have caused agricultural losses. Due to continuous climate change, rainfall and weather prediction has become essential. Rain causes damage to people and property. So, rainfall forecasting is crucial for crop as our country’s economy is still heavily dependent on agriculture. Using machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) models, we can train these models for the rainfall dataset and make predictions. A leading cause of death from natural disasters over the last 50years is witnessed by none other than earthquake occurrences which have a negative economic impact on the world and claimed thousands of lives over the years, causing devastation to properties. In this paper, a novel Ensemble Earthquake Prediction Method (EEPM) is proposed and implemented to produce a strong learner (ensemble method) having better accuracy in prediction, less variance, and less errors. Data (parameters) which is continuous in nature is collected from two countries, India and Nepal, for five years, and surveyor's data (precursor) which is categorical in nature is collected from three countries India, Nepal, and Kenya for five years on the specific earthquake-prone regions. The preprocessed data is generated by combining parameters and precursor data. EEPM focuses on detecting the accurate and better early signs of an earthquake and finding the probability of occurrence of an earthquake in the specified region, i.e., better prediction and robustness. The results of EEPM produced better R 2 and less variance and less error in comparison to individual machine learning methods as well as better accuracy 87.8%, compared to state-of-the-art ensemble methods. Urbanization produces substantial land use changes by causing the construction of different urban infrastructures in the city region for habitation, transportation, industry, and other reasons. As a result, it has a significant impact on Land Surface Temperature (LST) by disrupting the surface energy balance. The objective of this paper is to assess the impact of land-use/land-cover (LU/LC) dynamics on urban land surface temperature (LST) of Bhubaneswar City in Eastern India during 30 years (1991–2021) using Landsat data (TM, ETM + , and OLI/TIRS) and machine learning algorithms (MLA). The finding reveals that the mean LST over the entire study domain grows significantly between 1991 and, 2021due to urbanization (β coefficient 0.400, 0.195, 0.07, and 0.06 in 1991, 2001, 2011, and 2021 respectively) and loss of green space (β coefficient − 0.295, − 0.025, − 0.125 and − 0.065 in 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 respectively). The highest class recorded for agricultural land (49.60 km2, accounting for 33.94% of the total land area) was in 1991 followed by vegetation (41.27 km2, 28.19% of the total land area), and built-up land (27.59 km2, 18.84% of the total land area). The sharp decline of vegetation cover will continue until 2021 due to increasing built-up areas (r = − 0.531, − 0.329, − 0.538, and − 0.063 in the 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 respectively). Built-up land (62.60 km2, accounting for 42.76% of the total land area, an increase of 35.01 km2 from 1991) as the highest class followed by water bodies (21.57%, 32.60 km2 of the land area), and agricultural land (31.57 km2, 21.57% of the land area) in 2021. Remote sensing techniques proved to be an important tool to urban planners and policymakers to take adequate steps to promote sustainable development and minimize urbanization influence on LST. About 10.5 percent of global adult population is living with diabetes. India has 77 million diabetic patients, it is the second highest in the world. Developing countries such as India face a huge burden of diabetes and its complications. Even children at the age of five are suffering from this disease. It is high time that people understand the gravity of the situation and make themselves fit to fight the disease than to suffer with it. If diabetes is not identified and treated in right time, it may lead to chronical health issues. In this paper a machine learning based prediction model is built to find the factors leading to complicated health issues such as cardio vascular disease. This model identifies the attributes that highly contribute to cardio vascular disease and compare various machine learning algorithms to predict cardio vascular disease among diabetic patients. It identifies the best algorithm from a set of supervised learning algorithms such as KNN, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Naïve Bayes and Gradient Boosting for prediction based on several performance metrics. The algorithms are compared based on the performance metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, time taken to train and time taken to test. Agriculture is a main source of income for farmers in India. Farmers produce many seasonal local crops based on their location. Cotton is the most produced crop across India. Cotton is a commercial crop, and farmers get good capital from cotton. This will increase the income of the farmer. However, one of the basic problems with cotton is that it is easily exposed to many diseases. These diseases need to be identified as early as possible to avoid production loss. In this paper, the CNN algorithm is used to create the prediction model by leveraging the TensorFlow's Keras API. This model is further used in mobile app development which helps the farmers identify cotton disease and recommend the pesticides which can be used to overcome the disease. The TensorFlow open-source platform was used to prepare the ML model. The TensorFlow Tflite model is created, and after that, the model is converted into the Core ML model, which is used in iOS app to make the disease predication. Google's core API is used to convert the TensorFlow model into the Core ML model. The label dataset was used to create the model. The Swift language is used in app development. The model accuracy was around 90%. Currently, boll rot and fungal leafspot disease are detected in this app. However, the app can be further extended for other cotton diseases too. In this paper, a combined approach of Principal Component Analysis (PCA)-based Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) for boiler output forecasting in a thermal power plant is presented. The input used for this prediction model is taken from the boiler unit of the Yermarus Thermal Power Station (YTPS), India. Calculation of the accurate electrical output of a boiler in an operating system requires the knowledge of hundreds of operating parameters. The dimensionality of the input dataset is reduced by applying principal component analysis using IBM@SPSS Software. In the process of principal component analysis, a dataset of 232 parameters is standardized into 16 principal components. The total dataset collected is divided into training and testing datasets. The extreme learning machine is designed for various activation functions and the number of neurons. Sigmoid and hyperbolic tangent activation functions are studied here. Its generalization performance is examined in terms of the Mean Square Error (MSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Root Mean Square (RMSE), and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). ELM and PCA–ELM are compared. In both the ELM and PCA–ELM models, when the extreme learning machine was designed with a sigmoid activation function with 100 nodes in the hidden layer, RMSE was 5.026 and 4.730, respectively. Short-term electric power load forecasting is a critical and essential task for utilities in the electric power industry for proper energy trading, which enables the independent system operator to operate the network without any technical and economical issues. From an electric power distribution system point of view, accurate load forecasting is essential for proper planning and operation. In order to build most robust machine learning model to forecast the load with a good accuracy irrespective of weather condition and type of day, features such as the season, temperature, humidity and day-status are incorporated into the data. In this paper, a machine learning model, namely a regression tree, is used to forecast the active power load an hour and one day ahead. Real-time active power load data to train and test the machine learning models are collected from a 33/11 kV substation located in Telangana State, India. China and India are the largest coal consumers and the most populated countries in the world. With industrial and population growth, the need for energy has increased, which has inevitably led to an increase in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions because both countries depend on fossil fuel consumption. This paper investigates the impact of energy consumption, financial development (FD), gross domestic product (GDP), population, and renewable energy on CO2 emissions. The study applies the long short-term memory (LSTM) method, a novel machine learning (ML) approach, to examine which influencing driver has the greatest and smallest impact on CO2 emissions; correspondingly, this study builds a model for CO2 emission reduction. Data collected between 1990 and 2014 were analyzed, and the results indicated that energy consumption had the greatest effect and renewable energy had the smallest impact on CO2 emissions in both countries. Subsequently, we increased the renewable energy coefficient by one and decreased the energy consumption coefficient by one while keeping all other factors constant, and the results predicted with the LSTM model confirmed the significant reduction in CO2 emissions. Finally, this study forecasted a CO2 emission trend, with a slowdown predicted in China by 2022; however, CO2 emission's reduction is not possible in India until 2023. These results suggest that shifting from nonrenewable to renewable sources and lowering coal consumption can reduce CO2 emissions without harming economic development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Anemia is one of the most pressing public health issues in the world with iron deficiency a major public health issue worldwide. The highest prevalence of anemia is in developing countries. The complete blood count is a blood test used to diagnose the prevalence of anemia. While earlier studies have framed the problem of diagnosis as a binary classification problem, this paper frames it as a multi class (three classes) classification problem with mild, moderate and severe classes. The three classes for the anemia classification (mild, moderate, severe) are so chosen as the world health organization (WHO) guidelines formalize this categorization based on the Haemoglobin (HGB) values of the chosen sample of patients in the Complete Blood Count (CBC) patient data set. Complete blood count test data was collected in an outpatient clinical setting in India. We used Feature selection with Majority voting to identify the key attributes in the input patient data set. In addition, since the original data set was imbalanced we used Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) to balance the data set. Four data sets including the original data set were used to perform the data experiments. Six standard machine learning algorithms were utilised to test our four data sets, performing multi class classification. Benchmarking these algorithms was performed and tabulated using both10 fold cross validation and hold out methods. The experimental results indicated that multilayer perceptron network was predominantly giving good recall values across mild and moderate class which are early and middle stages of the disease. With a good prediction model at early stages, medical intervention can provide preventive measure from further deterioration into severe stage or recommend the use of supplements to overcome this problem. Tyre condition monitoring system (TCMS) is an emerging electronic safety system present in most of the new generation vehicles. It is intended to warn the driver when wheels are unbalanced or inflation pressure in a tyre goes below a certain recommended value. In India only limited vehicles having this critical safety system installed because it is highly expensive. The existing TCMS monitor only the tyre pressure using direct or indirect methods. In recent days the indirect TCMS using vibration signals and machine learning techniques are gaining momentum. This paper reports the effect of wheel balancing on a proposed affordable indirect TCMS. The present study goes one step forward to include the wheel balancing in the TCMS, thus increasing the scope of TCMS. The study was carried out using vibration signal data acquired from a low cost accelerometer placed on the wheel hub. The features required were taken out from the acquired data with the help of statistical feature extraction techniques. Diabetic retinopathy(DR) is a health condition that affects the retinal blood vessels(BV) and arises in over half of people living with diabetes. Exudates(EX) are significant indications of DR. Early detection and treatment can prevent vision loss in many cases. EX detection is a challenging problem for ophthalmologists due to its different sizes and elevations as retinal fundus images frequently have irregular illumination and are poorly contrasting. Manual detection of EX is a time-consuming process to diagnose a mass number of diabetic patients. In the domain of signal processing, both SIFT (scale-invariant feature transform) and SURF (speed-up robust feature) methods are predominant in scale-invariant location retrieval and have shown a range of advantages. But, when extended to medical images with corresponding weak contrast between reference features and neighboring areas, these methods cannot differentiate significant features. Considering these, in this paper, a novel method is proposed based on modified KAZE features, which is an emerging technique to extract feature points and extreme learning machine autoencoders(ELMAE) for robust and fast localization of the EX in fundus images. The main stages of the proposed method are pre-processing, OD localization, dimensionality reduction using ELMAE, and EX localization. The proposed method is evaluated based on the freely accessible retinal database DIARETDB0, DIARETDB1, e-Ophtha, MESSIDOR, and local retinal database collected from Silchar Medical College and Hospital(SMCH). The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy obtained by the proposed method are 96.5%, 96.4%, and 97%, respectively, with the processing time of 3.19 seconds per image. The results of this study are satisfactory with state-of-the-art methods. The results indicate that the approach taken can detect EX with less processing time and accurately from the fundus images. Purpose: The rapid urbanization of Indian cities and the population surge in cities has steered a massive demand for energy, thereby increasing the carbon emissions in the environment. Information and technology advancements, aided by predictive tools, can optimize this energy demand and help reduce harmful carbon emissions. Out of the multiple factors governing the energy consumption and comfort of buildings, indoor room temperature is a critical one, as it envisages the need for regulating the temperature. This paper aims to propose a mathematical model for short-term forecasting of indoor room temperature in the Indian context to optimize energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions in the environment. Design/methodology/approach: A study is conducted to forecast the indoor room temperature of an Indian corporate building structure, based upon various external environmental factors: temperature and rainfall and internal factors like cooling control, occupancy behavior and building characteristics. Expert insight and principal component analysis are applied for appropriate variables selection. The machine learning approach using Box–Jenkins time series models is used for the forecasting of indoor room temperature. Findings: ARIMAX model, with lagged forecasted and explanatory variables, is found to be the best-fit model. A predictive short-term hourly temperature forecasting model is developed based upon ARIMAX model, which yields fairly accurate results for data set pertaining to the building conditions and climatic parameters in the Indian context. Results also investigate the relationships between the forecasted and individual explanatory variables, which are validated using theoretical proofs. Research limitations/implications: The models considered in this research are Box–Jenkins models, which are linear time series models. There are non-linear models, such as artificial neural network models and deep learning models, which can be a part of this study. The study of hybrid models including combined forecasting techniques comprising linear and non-linear methods is another important area for future scope of study. As this study is based on a single corporate entity, the models developed need to be tested further for robustness and reliability. Practical implications: Forecasting of indoor room temperature provides essential practical information about meeting the in-future energy demand, that is, how much energy resources would be needed to maintain the equilibrium between energy consumption and building comfort. In addition, this forecast provides information about the prospective peak usage of air-conditioning controls within the building indoor control management system through a feedback control loop. The resultant model developed can be adopted for smart buildings within Indian context. Social implications: This study has been conducted in India, which has seen a rapid surge in population growth and urbanization. Being a developing country, India needs to channelize its energy needs judiciously by minimizing the energy wastage and reducing carbon emissions. This study proposes certain pre-emptive measures that help in minimizing the consumption of available energy resources as well as reducing carbon emissions that have significant impact on the society and environment at large. Originality/value: A large number of factors affecting the indoor room temperature present a research challenge for model building. The paper statistically identifies the parameters influencing the indoor room temperature forecasting and their relationship with the forecasted model. Considering Indian climatic, geographical and building structure conditions, the paper presents a systematic mathematical model to forecast hourly indoor room temperature for next 120 h with fair degree of accuracy. In this paper, we have described the health care problem (maldistribution of doctors) in India. Later, we have introduced the concept of artificial intelligence and we have described this technology with various examples, how it is rapidly changing the health care scenario across the world. We have also described the various advantages of artificial intelligence technology. At the end of the paper, we have raised some serious concerns regarding complete replacement of human based health care technology with artificial intelligence technology. The ability to exploit students' sentiments using different machine learning techniques is considered an important strategy for planning and manoeuvring in a collaborative educational environment. The advancement of machine learning technology is energised by the healthy growth of big data technologies. This helps the applications based on Sentiment Mining (SM) using big data to become a common platform for data mining activities. However, very little has been studied on the sentiment application using a huge amount of available educational data. Therefore, this paper has made an attempt to mine the academic data using different efficient machine learning algorithms. The contribution of this paper is two-fold: (i) studying the sentiment polarity (positive, negative and neutral) from students' data using machine learning techniques, and (ii) modelling and predicting students' emotions (Amused, Anxiety, Bored, Confused, Enthused, Excited, Frustrated, etc.) using the big data frameworks. The developed SM techniques using big data frameworks can be scaled and made adaptable for source variation, velocity and veracity to maximise value mining for the benefit of students, faculties and other stakeholders. Code-switching is a very common occurrence in social media communication, predominantly found in multilingual countries like India. Using more than one language in communication is known as codeswitching or code-mixing. Some of the important applications of codeswitch are machine translation (MT), shallow parsing, dialog systems, and semantic parsing. Identifying code-switch and monolingual information is useful for better communication in online networking websites. In this paper, we performed a character level n-gram approach to identify monolingual and code-switch information from English-Kannada social media data. We paralleled various machine learning techniques such as naïve Bayes (NB), support vector classifier (SVC), logistic regression (LR) and neural network (NN) on English-Kannada code-switch (EKCS) data. From the proposed approach, it is observed that the character level n-gram approach provides 1.8% to 4.1% of improvement in terms of Accuracy and 1.6% to 3.8% of improvement in F1-score. Also observed that SVC and NN techniques are outperformed in terms of accuracy (97.9%) and F1-score (98%) with character level n-gram. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Escalated groundwater contamination around the world developed the idea of aquifer vulnerability, which has widely been employed globally to safeguard groundwater from contamination. Several extensive studies have been done to evaluate the degree of groundwater vulnerability using various techniques. However, a comprehensive assessment of existing literature in order to identify major research gaps associated with aquifer vulnerability is still required. The current study provides a critical overview of several groundwater risk assessment methodologies, including the GIS-based DRASTIC and modified DRASTIC methods, application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning techniques, and integrated approach for both intrinsic and specific vulnerability assessment. The study discusses validation of DRASTIC model and its comparison with a few other methodologies as well. The paper also highlights the international approach (time dimension in groundwater vulnerability, integrated process based and isotopic studies, etc.) that needs to be practiced rigorously on a larger scale in India. A descriptive summary of the literature indicates that a multidisciplinary and integrated framework such as understanding contaminant type, uncertainties in vadose zone need to be implemented in a much more comprehensive way, especially in India. In a survey conducted in the year 2020, we came to know that India's around 50% of population includes young people of the age group of 25 and students. Guiding this young mass in the right way and strengthening their future is a huge responsibility put over the head of the elder citizens of India such as their parents teachers and professors. This paper aims to build a model that can predict the students' competency level and the risk factors or the fields where he needs to put their effort to improve themselves, and this model also helps the parents, professors and Educational institutes to know about their children's and students in which zone they stand, are they ready to compete with others. This analysis is done by using different ML bifurcation algorithms. Also we aim to find the best classifier which can emerge with the highest predicting accuracy among all other classifiers to the above-said problem. Covid 19 is a new face of death and suffering in the world nowadays. When it started in the year 2019, it came with a lot of risks and uncertainties. World Health Organization (WHO) had no clue about the treatment and measures for this disease and so people got puzzled and started locking down themselves to avoid getting infected. Interstate and inter-country travelling got seized and the worst affected sector in this pandemic became the tourism industry. In this paper, the stock prices six multi-national tourism companies that operate in India, have been forecasted using some online learning algorithm Long Short Term Memory (LSTM), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Least absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) and Random Forest (RF). As we know that predicting stock prices is difficult due to its randomness, it requires extensive study of the stock market and intervention of statistical and machine learning models. Summer monsoon rainfall contributes more than 75% of the annual rainfall in India. For the state of Maharashtra, India, this is more than 80% for almost all regions of the state. The high variability of rainfall during this period necessitates the classification of rainy and non-rainy days. While there are various approaches to rainfall classification, this paper proposes rainfall classification based on weather variables. This paper explores the use of support vector machine (SVM) and artificial neural network (ANN) algorithms for the binary classification of summer monsoon rainfall using common weather variables such as relative humidity, temperature, pressure. The daily data, for the summer monsoon months, for nineteen years, was collected for the Shivajinagar station of Pune in the state of Maharashtra, India. Classification accuracy of 82.1 and 82.8%, respectively, was achieved with SVM and ANN algorithms, for an imbalanced dataset. While performance parameters such as misclassification rate, F1 score indicate that better results were achieved with ANN, model parameter selection for SVM was less involved than ANN. Domain adaptation technique was used for rainfall classification at the other two stations of Maharashtra with the network trained for the Shivajinagar station. In India, water wastage in agricultural fields becomes a challenging issue and it is needed to minimize the loss of water in the irrigation process. Since the conventional irrigation system needs massive quantity of water utilization, a smart irrigation system can be designed with the help of recent technologies such as machine learning (ML) and the Internet of Things (IoT). With this motivation, this paper designs a novel IoT enabled deep learning enabled smart irrigation system (IoTDL-SIS) technique. The goal of the IoTDL-SIS technique focuses on the design of smart irrigation techniques for effectual water utilization with less human interventions. The proposed IoTDL-SIS technique involves distinct sensors namely soil moisture, temperature, air temperature, and humidity for data acquisition purposes. The sensor data are transmitted to the Arduino module which then transmits the sensor data to the cloud server for further process. The cloud server performs the data analysis process using three distinct processes namely regression, clustering, and binary classification. Firstly, deep support vector machine (DSVM) based regression is employed was utilized for predicting the soil and environmental parameters in advances such as atmospheric pressure, precipitation, solar radiation, and wind speed. Secondly, these estimated outcomes are fed into the clustering technique to minimize the predicted error. Thirdly, Artificial Immune Optimization Algorithm (AIOA) with deep belief network (DBN) model receives the clustering data with the estimated weather data as input and performs classification process. A detailed experimental results analysis demonstrated the promising performance of the presented technique over the other recent state of art techniques with the higher accuracy of 0.971. In recent times, active research is going on for bridging the gap between computer vision and natural language. In this paper, we attempt to address the problem of Hindi video captioning. In a linguistically diverse country like India, it is important to provide a means which can help in understanding the visual entities in native languages. In this work, we employ a hybrid attention mechanism by extending the soft temporal attention mechanism with a semantic attention to make the system able to decide when to focus on visual context vector and semantic input. The visual context vector of the input video is extracted using 3D convolutional neural network (3D CNN) and a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) recurrent network with attention module is used for decoding the encoded context vector. We experimented on a dataset built in-house for Hindi video captioning by translating M S R - V T T dataset followed by post-editing. Our system achieves 0.369 CIDEr score and 0.393 METEOR score and outperformed other baseline models including RMN (Reasoning Module Networks)-based model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Within the recent pandemic, scientists and clinicians are engaged in seeking new technology to stop or slow down the COVID-19 pandemic. The benefit of machine learning, as an essential aspect of artificial intelligence, on past epidemics offers a new line to tackle the novel Coronavirus outbreak. Accurate short-term forecasting of COVID-19 spread plays an essential role in improving the management of the overcrowding problem in hospitals and enables appropriate optimization of the available resources (i.e., materials and staff).This paper presents a comparative study of machine learning methods for COVID-19 transmission forecasting. We investigated the performances of deep learning methods, including the hybrid convolutional neural networks-Long short-term memory (LSTM-CNN), the hybrid gated recurrent unit-convolutional neural networks (GAN-GRU), GAN, CNN, LSTM, and Restricted Boltzmann Machine (RBM), as well as baseline machine learning methods, namely logistic regression (LR) and support vector regression (SVR). The employment of hybrid models (i.e., LSTM-CNN and GAN-GRU) is expected to eventually improve the forecasting accuracy of COVID-19 future trends. The performance of the investigated deep learning and machine learning models was tested using confirmed and recovered COVID-19 cases time-series data from seven impacted countries: Brazil, France, India, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the US. The results reveal that hybrid deep learning models can efficiently forecast COVID-19 cases. Also, results confirmed the superior performance of deep learning models compared to the two considered baseline machine learning models. Aim/Purpose This paper aims to analyze the availability and pricing of perishable farm produce before and during the lockdown restrictions imposed due to Covid-19. This paper also proposes machine learning and deep learning models to help the farmers decide on an appropriate market to sell their farm produce and get a fair price for their product. Background Developing countries like India have regulated agricultural markets governed by country-specific protective laws like the Essential Commodities Act and the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) Act. These regulations restrict the sale of agricultural produce to a predefined set of local markets. Covid-19 pandemic led to a lockdown during the first half of 2020 which resulted in supply disruption and demand-supply mismatch of agricultural commodities at these local markets. These demand-supply dynamics led to disruptions in the pricing of the farm produce leading to a lower price realization for farmers. Hence it is essential to analyze the impact of this disruption on the pricing of farm produce at a granular level. Moreover, the farmers need a tool that guides them with the most suitable market/city/town to sell their farm produce to get a fair price. Methodology One hundred and fifty thousand samples from the agricultural dataset, released by the Government of India, were used to perform statistical analysis and identify the supply disruptions as well as price disruptions of perishable agricultural produce. In addition, more than seventeen thousand samples were used to implement and train machine learning and deep learning models that can predict and guide the farmers about the appropriate market to sell their farm produce. In essence, the paper uses descriptive analytics to analyze the impact of COVID-19 on agricultural produce pricing. The paper explores the usage of prescriptive analytics to recommend an appropriate market to sell agricultural produce. Contribution Five machine learning models based on Logistic Regression, K-Nearest Neighbors, Support Vector Machine, Random Forest, and Gradient Boosting, and three deep learning models based on Artificial Neural Networks were implemented. The performance of these models was compared using metrics like Precision, Recall, Accuracy, and F1-Score. Findings Among the five classification models, the Gradient Boosting classifier was the optimal classifier that achieved precision, recall, accuracy, and F1 score of 99%. Out of the three deep learning models, the Adam optimizer-based deep neural network achieved precision, recall, accuracy, and F1 score of 99%. Recommendations for Practitioners Gradient boosting technique and Adam-based deep learning model should be the preferred choice for analyzing agricultural pricing-related problems. Recommendations for Researchers Ensemble learning techniques like Random Forest and Gradient boosting perform better than non-Ensemble classification techniques. Hyperparameter tuning is an essential step in developing these models and it improves the performance of the model. Impact on Society Statistical analysis of the data revealed the true nature of demand and supply and price disruption. This analysis helps to assess the revenue impact borne by the farmers due to Covid-19. The machine learning and deep learning models help the farmers to get a better price for their crops. Though the dataset used in this paper is related to India, the outcome of this research work applies to many developing countries that have similar regulated markets. Hence farmers from developing countries across the world can benefit from the outcome of this research work. Thyroid hormones are essential for all the metabolic and reproductive activities with significance to growth, and neuron development in the human body. The thyroid hormone dysfunction has many ill consequences, affecting the human population; thereby being a global epidemic. It is noticed that every one in 10 persons suffer from different thyroid disorders in India. In recent years, many researchers have implemented various disease predictive models based on Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Increasing the accuracy of disease classification is a critical and challenging task. To increase the accuracy of classification, in this paper, we propose a hybrid optimization algorithm‐based feature selection design for thyroid disease classifier with rough type‐2 fuzzy support vector machine. This work uses the hybrid optimization algorithm, which combines the firefly algorithm (FA) and butterfly optimization algorithm (BOA) to select the top‐n features. The proposed hybrid firefly butterfly optimization‐rough type‐2 fuzzy support vector machine (HFBO‐RT2FSVM) is evaluated with several key metrics such as specificity, accuracy, and sensitivity. We compare our approach with well‐known benchmark methods such as improved grey wolf optimization linear support vector machine (IGWO Linear SVM) and mixed‐kernel support vector machine (MKSVM) methods. From the experimental evaluations, we justify that our technique improves the accuracy by large thereby precise in identifying the thyroid disease. When it comes to cancer in Indian women, breast cancer is one of the most common and frequently occurring cancer types. In most of the developing countries like India, the overhead charges for breast cancer are very high which leads to a poor mortality rate when compared to western countries. As of now, large numbers of researches have been carried out based on deep learning and machine learning prediction of Breast cancer. This paper reviews some of the existing machine learning algorithms like Decision Tree (DT), Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), Random Forest (RF) and Support Vector Machines (SVMs) in linear (SVML), polynomial (SVM-P), and radial basis function (SVM-RBF) on the Breast Cancer Wisconsin (BCW) data set using Python. "Novel Coronavirus", also known as COVID-19 has spread globally which is sparked in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei in China. It is a big problem for the world's health organization as the number of affected cases as well as deaths increases in each country. Several Machine Learning models are designed to predict and forecast the COVID-19 outbreak. In this paper, we are designed to understand the current scenario of coronavirus, and predicting and forecasting the total number of confirmed cases of novel COVID-19 in India using linear regression, polynomial regression, and support vector machine regression models. The decision-making process of an organization depends on the data analysis and it is presenting with interactive visual representation. It is not possible to predict without having necessary information from the past and the present. Trends over time tell us where we were and where we can go with our model. India is among the largest cultivators and consumers of wheat grains leading to apparent demand for identifying the quality and varietal distribution of wheat to fulfill the specific requirements of food industries. Moreover, with the variations in prices of distinct varieties in different parts of the country, it becomes a vital need for the customers as well as for the cultivators to identify and classify the grains based upon specific end products, demand, and prices of individual variety. The growth of Machine Learning and Computer Vision in agriculture, facilitate the development of such techniques that can successfully identify the classes based on visual features and representation. In this paper, a model has been developed from scratch for the classification of fifteen different varieties of wheat consists of 15000 images based on their visual traits using Convolutional Neural Network. The model has been produced under a different set of hyper-parameters tuned to develop the best model that can classify the varieties of wheat grains with high accuracy and minimum loss. The performance of the different models are compared in terms of classification accuracy and categorical cross-entropy loss. The model which is found best, successfully classifies the wheat varieties with 94.88% training accuracy and 97.53% test accuracy while on the other side reduces loss to 15% for training and 8% for the test set. Crop yield prediction is an important aspect of agriculture. The timely and accurate crop yield predictions can be of great help for policy makers and farmers in planning and decision making. Generally, statistical models are employed to predict the crop yield which is time consuming and tedious. Emerging trends of deep learning and machine learning has come up as a major breakthrough in the arena. Deep learning models have the inherent ability to perform feature extraction in large dataset thus more suitable for predictions. In this paper, a deep learning-based Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) model is employed to predict wheat crop yield of northern region of India. The present study also employed LSTM to unravel the vanishing gradient problem inherent in RNN model. Experiments were conducted using 43 years benchmark dataset and proposed model results were compared with three machine learning models. Evidently, the results obtained from RNN-LSTM model(RMSE: 147.12,MAE: 60.50), Artificial Neural Network(RMSE: 732.14,MAE: 623.13), Random Forest (RMSE: 540.88, MAE: 449.36) and Multivariate Linear Regression (RMSE: 915.64,MAE: 796.07), proved the efficacy of model. This study presents the uprising of leaf chlorophyll estimation from traditional mechanical method to machine learning-based method. Earlier chlorophyll estimation techniques such as Spectrophotometer and Soil Plant Analysis Development (SPAD) meter demand cost, time, labour, skill, and expertise. A small-scale tea farmer may not afford these devices. The present study reports a low-cost digital method to predict the tea leaf chlorophyll using 1-D Convolutional Neural Network (1-D CNN). After capturing the tea leaf images using a digital camera in a natural light condition, a total of 12 different colour features were extracted from tea leaf images. A SPAD was used to estimate the original chlorophyll value of the tea leaves. The paper shows the correlation of original tea leaf chlorophyll with the extracted colour features of the tea leaf images. Apart from 1-D CNN, the Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) were also applied to predict the tea leaf chlorophyll and compared their results with the 1-D CNN. The 1-D CNN model outperformed with an accuracy of 81.1%, Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 3.01, and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 4.18. The investigation system is very simple and cost-effective.
