In the epoch characterized by the anticipation of autonomous vehicles, the quality of the embedded system software, its reliability, safety, and security is significant. The testing of embedded software is an increasingly significant element of the development process. The application of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms in the process of testing embedded software in vehicles constitutes a significant area of both research and practical consideration, arising from the escalating complexity of these systems. This paper presents the preliminary development of the AVESYS framework which facilitates the application of open-source artificial intelligence algorithms in the embedded system testing process. The aim of this work is to evaluate its effectiveness in identifying anomalies in the test environment that could potentially affect testing results. The raw data from the test environment, mainly communication signals and readings from temperature, as well as current and voltage sensors are pre-processed and used to train machine learning models. In the intelligent transformation of spraying operations, the investigation into the robotic spraying process holds significant importance. The spraying process, however, falls within the realm of experience-driven technology, characterized by high complexity, diverse parameters, and coupling effects. Moreover, the quality of manual spraying processes relies entirely on manual experience. Thus, the crux of the intelligent transformation of spraying robots lies in establishing a mapping model between the spraying process and the resultant spraying quality. To address the challenge of intelligently transforming empirical spraying processes and achieving the mapping from the spraying process to spraying quality, an algorithm employing an enhanced extreme learning machine-based neural network is proposed for predicting spraying process parameters with respect to the evaluation index of spraying quality. In this approach, an algorithmic model based on the Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) neural network is initially constructed utilizing five spraying process parameters: spraying speed, spraying height, spraying width pressure, atomization pressure, and oil spraying pressure. Two spraying quality evaluation indexes, namely average film thickness at the center point and surface roughness, are also incorporated. Subsequently, the prediction neural network is optimized using the K-means improved predator optimization algorithm (KHPO) to enhance the model's prediction accuracy. This optimization step aims to improve the efficiency of the model in predicting spraying quality based on the specified process parameters. Finally, data collection and model validation for the spraying quality prediction algorithm are conducted using a designed robotic automated waterborne paint spraying experimental system. The experimental results demonstrate a significant reduction in the prediction error of the KHPO-ELM neural network model for the average film thickness center point, showcasing a decrease of 61.95% in comparison to the traditional ELM neural network and 50.81% in comparison to the BP neural network. Likewise, the improved neural network model yields a 2.31% decrease in surface roughness prediction error compared to the traditional ELM neural network and a substantial 54.0% reduction compared to the BP neural network. Consequently, the KHPO-ELM neural network, incorporating the prediction algorithm, effectively facilitates the prediction of multi-spraying process parameters for the center point of average film thickness and surface roughness in automated robot spraying. The study included 140 patients (mean age 67.7 ± 8.9 years), and the algorithm was found to be predictive of all eight treatment recommendations made by the board. The model's predictions were more accurate than those based on published therapeutic guidelines by ESMO and NCCN. Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are nowadays applied as the most efficient methods in the majority of machine learning approaches, including data-driven modeling for assessment of the toxicity of chemicals. We developed a combined neural network methodology that can be used in the scope of new approach methodologies (NAMs) assessing chemical or drug toxicity. Here, we present QSAR models for predicting the physical and biochemical properties of molecules of three different datasets: aqueous solubility, acute fish toxicity toward fat head minnow, and bio-concentration factors. A novel neural network modeling method is developed by combining two neural network algorithms, namely, the counter-propagation modeling strategy (CP-ANN) with the back-propagation-of-errors algorithm (BPE-ANN). The advantage is a short training time, robustness, and good interpretability through the initial CP-ANN part, while the extension with BPE-ANN improves the precision of predictions in the range between minimal and maximal property values of the training data, regardless of the number of neurons in both neural networks, either CP-ANN or BPE-ANN. Male infertility is a relevant public health problem, but there is no systematic review of the different machine learning (ML) models and their accuracy so far. The present review aims to comprehensively investigate the use of ML algorithms in predicting male infertility, thus reporting the accuracy of the used models in the prediction of male infertility as a primary outcome. Particular attention will be paid to the use of artificial neural networks (ANNs). A comprehensive literature search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, and Science Direct between 15 July and 23 October 2023, conducted under the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. We performed a quality assessment of the included studies using the recommended tools suggested for the type of study design adopted. We also made a screening of the Risk of Bias (RoB) associated with the included studies. Thus, 43 relevant publications were included in this review, for a total of 40 different ML models detected. The studies included reported a good quality, even if RoB was not always good for all the types of studies. The included studies reported a median accuracy of 88% in predicting male infertility using ML models. Deep-learning algorithms hold promise in processing physiological signal data, including electrocardiograms (ECGs) and electroencephalograms (EEGs). However, healthcare often requires long-term monitoring, posing a challenge to traditional deep-learning models. These models are generally trained once and then deployed, which limits their ability to adapt to the dynamic and evolving nature of healthcare scenarios. Continual learning—known for its adaptive learning capabilities over time—offers a promising solution to these challenges. However, there remains an absence of consolidated literature, which reviews the techniques, applications, and challenges of continual learning specific to physiological signal analysis, as well as its future directions. Bridging this gap, our review seeks to provide an overview of the prevailing techniques and their implications for smart healthcare. We delineate the evolution from traditional approaches to the paradigms of continual learning. We aim to offer insights into the challenges faced and outline potential paths forward. Various industries, including engineering, media/entertainment, finance, and education, have already reaped significant benefits by incorporating AI systems into their operations. Notably, the healthcare sector has witnessed rapid growth in the utilization of AI technology. Nevertheless, there remains untapped potential for AI to truly revolutionize the industry. It is important to note that despite concerns about job displacement, AI in healthcare should not be viewed as a threat to human workers. Instead, AI systems are designed to augment and support healthcare professionals, freeing up their time to focus on more complex and critical tasks. By automating routine and repetitive tasks, AI can alleviate the burden on healthcare professionals, allowing them to dedicate more attention to patient care and meaningful interactions.
