We analyze the replicator-mutator equations for the rock-paper-scissors game. Various graph-theoretic patterns of mutation are considered, ranging from a single unidirectional mutation pathway between two of the species, to global bidirectional mutation among all the species. Our main result is that the coexistence state, in which all three species exist in equilibrium, can be destabilized by arbitrarily small mutation rates. After it loses stability, the coexistence state gives birth to a stable limit cycle solution created in a supercritical Hopf bifurcation. This attracting periodic solution exists for all the mutation patterns considered, and persists arbitrarily close to the limit of zero mutation rate and a zero-sum game. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The spatiotemporal arrangement of interacting populations often influences the maintenance of species diversity and is a subject of intense research. Here, we study the spatiotemporal patterns arising from the cyclic competition between three species in two dimensions. Inspired by recent experiments, we consider a generic metapopulation model comprising "rock-paper-scissors" interactions via dominance removal and replacement, reproduction, mutations, pair exchange, and hopping of individuals. By combining analytical and numerical methods, we obtain the model's phase diagram near its Hopf bifurcation and quantitatively characterize the properties of the spiraling patterns arising in each phase. The phases characterizing the cyclic competition away from the Hopf bifurcation (at low mutation rate) are also investigated. Our analytical approach relies on the careful analysis of the properties of the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation derived through a controlled (perturbative) multiscale expansion around the model's Hopf bifurcation. Our results allow us to clarify when spatial "rock-paper-scissors" competition leads to stable spiral waves and under which circumstances they are influenced by nonlinear mobility. In this paper we construct two limit cycles with a heteroclinic polycycle for the three-dimensional continuous model of the rock–scissors–paper (RSP) game between bacteriocin producing bacteria. In this paper, we study a reaction-diffusion nutrient-phytoplankton model with nutrient recycling delay and toxin-producing phytoplankton. For the delay-free case, we prove that the release rate of toxic chemicals by the toxin-producing phytoplankton can destabilize the system and cause periodic oscillation. For the time-delayed case, we observe that nutrient recycling delay may bring about stability switches and Hopf bifurcation. Moreover, we derive the formula for determining the direction and stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions. Finally, we give some numerical simulations to support the theoretical analyses. In this paper, biodiversity and a saturation treatment rate are introduced into a type of mosquito-borne infectious disease model with an incubation time delay. Through the dynamical analysis of the model, conditions for the existence and stability of disease-free and endemic equilibria are determined. The basic reproduction number of the model is calculated, and the condition for the existence of backward bifurcation is outlined. The study finds that under the dual influence of biodiversity and saturation treatment, the threshold characteristic of the basic reproduction number becomes invalidated. When R 0 is less than 1, the model may exhibit four equilibrium states, with both the disease-free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium being locally stable. In this scenario, whether the virus will become extinct depends on the initial conditions. The study also finds that when the basic reproduction number R 0 is greater than 1, the stability of the model is influenced by the time delay, with Hopf bifurcation occurring at a specific time delay. In addition, another novel contribution of this paper is the formulation of an optimal control problem that takes into account the minimization of damage caused by humans to biodiversity. Based on the Pontryagin's maximum principle, the specific characteristics of the optimal control measures are given, and the optimal strategy is derived by comparing five groups of control strategies. The optimal control results highlight the synergistic effect of multiple control measures with biodiversity. Under optimal control, a significant complementary effect between medical inputs and the dilution effect of biodiversity is evident. Regarding delay-induced predator-prey systems, extensive research has focused on the phenomenon of delayed destabilization. However, the question of whether delays contribute to stabilizing or destabilizing the system remains a subtle one. In this paper, the predator-prey interaction with discrete delay involving Ivlev-type functional response is studied by theoretical analysis and numerical simulations. The positivity and boundedness of the solution for the delayed model have been discussed. When time delay is accounted as a bifurcation parameter, stability analysis for the coexistence equilibrium is given in theoretical aspect. Supercritical Hopf bifurcation is detected by numerical simulation. Interestingly, by choosing suitable groups of parameter values, the chaotic solutions appear via a cascade of period-doubling bifurcations, which is also detected. The rock-paper-scissors game and its generalizations with S > 3 species are well-studied models for cyclically interacting populations. Four is, however, the minimum number of species that, by allowing other interactions beyond the single, cyclic loop, breaks both the full intransitivity of the food graph and the one-predator, one-prey symmetry. Lütz et al. [J. Theor. Biol. 317, 286 (2013)] have shown the existence, on a square lattice, of two distinct phases, with either four or three coexisting species. In both phases, each agent is eventually replaced by one of its predators, but these strategy oscillations remain localized as long as the interactions are short ranged. Distant regions may be either out of phase or cycling through different food-web subloops (if any). Here we show that upon replacing a minimum fraction Q of the short-range interactions by long-range ones, there is a Hopf bifurcation, and global oscillations become stable. Surprisingly, to build such long-distance, global synchronization, the four-species coexistence phase requires fewer long-range interactions than the three-species phase, while one would naively expect the opposite to be true. Moreover, deviations from highly homogeneous conditions (x = 0 or 1) increase Qc, and the more heterogeneous is the food web, the harder the synchronization is. By further increasing Q, while the three-species phase remains stable, the four-species one has a transition to an absorbing, single-species state. The existence of a phase with global oscillations for S > 3, when the interaction graph has multiple subloops and several possible local cycles, leads to the conjecture that global oscillations are a general characteristic, even for large, realistic food webs. In this paper, a new delayed fractional-order model including susceptible migratory birds, infected migratory birds and predators is proposed to discuss the spread of diseases among migratory birds. Fear of predators is considered in the model, as fear can reduce the reproduction rate and disease transmission rate among prey. First, some basic mathematical results of the proposed model are discussed. Then, time delay is regarded as a bifurcation parameter, and the delay-induced bifurcation conditions for such an uncontrolled system are established. A novel periodic pulse feedback controller is proposed to suppress the bifurcation phenomenon. It is found that the control scheme can successfully suppress the bifurcation behavior of the system, and the pulse width can be arbitrarily selected on the premise of ensuring the control effect. Compared with the traditional time-delay feedback controller, the control scheme proposed in this paper has more advantages in practical application, which not only embodies the advantages of low control cost and easy operation but also caters to the periodic changes of the environment. The proposed control scheme, in particular, remains effective even after the system has been disrupted by a constant. Numerical simulation verifies the correctness of the theoretical results. One of the simplest examples of a robust heteroclinic cycle involves three saddle equilibria: each one is unstable to the next in turn, and connections from one to the next occur within invariant subspaces. Such a situation can be described by a third-order ordinary differential equation (ODE), and typical trajectories approach each equilibrium point in turn, spending progressively longer to cycle around the three points but never stopping. This cycle has been invoked as a model of cyclic competition between populations adopting three strategies, characterised as Rock, Paper and Scissors. When spatial distribution and mobility of the populations is taken into account, waves of Rock can invade regions of Scissors, only to be invaded by Paper in turn. The dynamics is described by a set of partial differential equations (PDEs) that has travelling wave (in one dimension) and spiral (in two dimensions) solutions. In this paper, we explore how the robust heteroclinic cycle in the ODE manifests itself in the PDEs. Taking the wavespeed as a parameter, and moving into a travelling frame, the PDEs reduce to a sixth-order set of ODEs, in which travelling waves are created in a Hopf bifurcation and are destroyed in three different heteroclinic bifurcations, depending on parameters, as the travelling wave approaches the heteroclinic cycle. We explore the three different heteroclinic bifurcations, none of which have been observed in the context of robust heteroclinic cycles previously. These results are an important step towards a full understanding of the spiral patterns found in two dimensions, with possible application to travelling waves and spirals in other population dynamics models. This paper aims to investigate the effect of motor suspension parameters, specifically damping and stiffness, on the bifurcations of a bogie system. A motor bogie model with a nonlinear smooth equivalent conicity function is established. The study includes qualitative analyses of the stability and the Hopf bifurcation of the equilibrium, with the running speed as the single parameter. Furthermore, the generalised Hopf bifurcation and Hopf-Hopf bifurcation of the equilibrium, based on two motor suspension parameters, are also analysed. The paper delves into the codimension-1 and codimension-2 bifurcations of the limit cycles generated by the Hopf bifurcation, including Neimark–Sacker bifurcation, fold bifurcation, cusp bifurcation, 1:3 resonance, and 1:4 resonance. Analytical investigations reveal that the cusp bifurcation alters the type of fold bifurcation (subcritical or supercritical), and the fold bifurcation influences the stability and bifurcation direction of the limit cycle. Additionally, resonance occurs between the motor and the bogie frame. Since the subcritical (supercritical) Neimark–Sacker bifurcation produces an unstable (a stable) torus, the resonance points associated with the subcritical Neimark–Sacker bifurcation will lead to the instability of the motor bogie. This work investigates a prey–predator model featuring a Holling-type II functional response, in which the fear effect of predation on the prey species, as well as prey refuge, are considered. Specifically, the model assumes that the growth rate of the prey population decreases as a result of the fear of predators. Moreover, the detection of the predator by the prey species is subject to a delay known as the fear response delay, which is incorporated into the model. The paper establishes the preliminary conditions for the solution of the delayed model, including positivity, boundedness and permanence. The paper discusses the existence and stability of equilibrium points in the model. In particular, the paper considers the discrete delay as a bifurcation parameter, demonstrating that the system undergoes Hopf bifurcation at a critical value of the delay parameter. The direction and stability of periodic solutions are determined using central manifold and normal form theory. Additionally, the global stability of the model is established at axial and positive equilibrium points. Purpose: Highway traffic systems are complex and variable, and studying the bifurcation characteristics of traffic flow systems and designing control schemes for unstable bifurcation points can alleviate traffic congestion from a new perspective. Bifurcation analysis is used to explain the changes in system stability, identify the unstable bifurcation points of the system, and design feedback controllers to realize the control of the unstable bifurcation points of the traffic system. It helps to control the sudden changes in the stable behavior of the traffic system and helps to alleviate traffic congestion, which is of great practical significance. Design/methodology/approach: In this paper, we improve the macroscopic traffic flow model by integrating severe weather factors such as rainfall, snowfall, and dust. We use traveling wave transform to convert it into a traffic flow stability model suitable for branching analysis, thus converting the traffic flow problem into a system stability analysis problem. First, this paper derives the existence conditions of the model Hopf bifurcation and saddle-node bifurcation for the improved macroscopic model, and finds the stability mutation point of the system. Secondly, the connection between the stability mutation points and bifurcation points of the traffic system is analyzed. Finally, for the unstable bifurcation point, a nonlinear system feedback controller is designed using Chebyshev polynomial approximation and stochastic feedback control method. Findings: The Hopf bifurcation is delayed and completely eliminated without changing the equilibrium point of the system, thus controlling the abrupt behavior of the traffic system. Originality/value: Currently there are fewer studies to explain the changes in the stability of the transportation system through bifurcation analysis, in this paper; we design a feedback controller for the unstable bifurcation point of the system to realize the control of the transportation system. In this paper, we consider the influence of a nonlinear contact rate caused by multiple contacts in classical SIR model. In this paper, we unversal unfolding a nilpotent cusp singularity in such systems through normal form theory, we reveal that the system undergoes a Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation with codimension 2. During the bifurcation process, numerous lower codimension bifurcations may emerge simultaneously, such as saddle-node and Hopf bifurcations with codimension 1. Finally, employing the Matcont and Phase Plane software, we construct bifurcation diagrams and topological phase portraits. Additionally, we emphasize the role of symmetry in our analysis. By considering the inherent symmetries in the system, we provide a more comprehensive understanding of the dynamical behavior. Our findings suggest that if this occurrence rate is applied to the SIR model, it would yield different dynamical phenomena compared to those obtained by reducing a 3-dimensional dynamical model to a planar system by neglecting the disease mortality rate, which results in a stable nilpotent cusp singularity with codimension 2. We found that in SIR models with the same occurrence rate, both stable and unstable Bogdanov-Takens bifurcations occur, meaning both stable and unstable limit cycles appear in this system. The vehicles are prone to accidents during cornering on a wet or low friction coefficient roads if the longitudinal velocity (Vx) and steering angle (δ) are increased beyond a certain limit. Therefore, it is of major concern to analyze the behaviour and define the stability boundary of the vehicle for such scenarios. In this paper, stability analysis of a 2 degrees of freedom nonlinear bicycle model replicating a car model including lateral (sideslip angle β) and yaw (yaw rate r) dynamics only operating on a wet surface road has been performed. The stability is analysed by utilizing the phase plane method and bifurcation analysis. The obtained converging and diverging nature of the trajectories (β, r) depicts the stable and unstable equilibrium points in the phase plane. The movement of these points results in the transition of the stability known as bifurcation due to the change in the control parameters (Vx, δ). The Matcont/Matlab is utilized to obtain the bifurcation diagrams and the nature of bifurcations. The obtained results show that a saddle node (SNB) and a subcritical Hopf bifurcation (HB) exists for steering angle (±0.08 rad) and higher than (±0.08 rad) with Vx = (10 - 40) m/s respectively. The SNB and HB denotes the spinning of the vehicle and sliding of the vehicle respectively, thus generating a unstable behaviour. Purpose: The present paper investigates the bursting dynamics and its mechanism of the general hybrid Rayleigh-van der Pol-Duffing oscillator with two external periodic excitations. The study aims to avoid or reasonably utilize the vibrations induced by self-excited system in engineering. Methods: This paper mainly uses the fast–slow analysis method. First, we analyze the stability and bifurcation structure of the equilibrium point of the system with a single external excitation. Through the bifurcation set, we discover that the system has fold bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation. The direction of the Hopf bifurcation is obtained by calculating the first Lyapunov coefficient. When two external excitations exist, by employing de Moivre's equation, the original system transforms into a new form with a single slow variable. The classical machinery of fast subsystem analysis is used to investigate the bursting oscillations. Besides, the transformed phase diagrams are used to reveal the bifurcation mechanism. Results: Two bursting oscillations, namely symmetric fold/supHopf bursting and symmetric fold/fold bursting, are observed in the system with one periodic excitation. With two external excitations, the "turnover-of-fold-hystersis-induced" bursting, "symmetric periodic 2-fold" bursting, "symmetric periodic 6-fold" bursting, "symmetric periodic 10-fold" bursting and "symmetric periodic 14-fold" bursting are found and analyzed in detail. At the same time, the results show that with the increase of amplitudes of the external excitations, qualitative changes occur. Conclusions: With the addition of the second periodic excitation, the original bursting patterns induced by a single periodic excitation change completely. Inspired by the airway for phonation, fluid flow in an idealized model within a sudden expansion and contraction channel with a geometrically symmetric structure is investigated, and the nonlinear behaviors of the flow therein are explored via numerical simulations. Numerical simulation results show that, as the Reynolds number (Re = U0H/ν) increases, the numerical solution undergoes a pitchfork bifurcation, an inverse pitchfork bifurcation and a Hopf bifurcation. There are symmetric solutions, asymmetric solutions and oscillatory solutions for flows. When the sudden expansion ratio (Er) = 6.00, aspect ratio (Ar) = 1.78 and Re ≤ Rec1 (≈185), the numerical solution is unique, symmetric and stable. When Rec1 < Re ≤ Rec2 (≈213), two stable asymmetric solutions and one symmetric unstable solution are reached. When Rec2 < Re ≤ Rec3 (≈355), the number of numerical solution returns one, which is stable and symmetric. When Re > Rec3, the numerical solution is oscillatory. With increasing Re, the numerical solution develops from periodic and multiple periodic solutions to chaos. The critical Reynolds numbers (Rec1, Rec2 and Rec3) and the maximum return velocity, at which reflux occurs in the channel, change significantly under conditions with different geometry. We are concerned in this paper with the stability and bifurcation problems for three-neuron-based bi-directional associative memory neural networks that are involved with time delays in transmission terms and possess Caputo fractional derivatives of non-commensurate orders. For the fractional bi-directional associative memory neural networks that are dealt with in this paper, we view the time delays as the bifurcation parameters. Via a standard contraction mapping argument, we establish the existence and uniqueness of the state trajectories of the investigated fractional bi-directional associative memory neural networks. By utilizing the idea and technique of linearization, we analyze the influence of time delays on the dynamical behavior of the investigated neural networks, as well as establish and prove several stability/bifurcation criteria for the neural networks dealt with in this paper. According to each of our established criteria, the equilibrium states of the investigated fractional bi-directional associative memory neural networks are asymptotically stable when some of the time delays are less than strictly specific positive constants, i.e., when the thresholds or the bifurcation points undergo Hopf bifurcation in the concerned networks at the aforementioned threshold constants. In the meantime, we provide several illustrative examples to numerically and visually validate our stability and bifurcation results. Our stability and bifurcation theoretical results in this paper yield some insights into the cause mechanism of the bifurcation phenomena for some other complex phenomena, and this is extremely helpful for the design of feedback control to attenuate or even to remove such complex phenomena in the dynamics of fractional bi-directional associative memory neural networks with time delays. With the frequent occurrence of financial risks, financial innovation supervision has become an important research issue, and excellent regulatory strategies are of great significance to maintain the stability and sustainable development of financial markets. Thus, this paper intends to analyze the financial regulation strategies through evolutionary game theory. In this paper, the delayed replication dynamic equation and the non-delayed replication dynamic equation are established, respectively, under different reward and punishment mechanisms, and their stability conditions and evolutionary stability strategies are investigated. The analysis finds that under the static mechanism, the internal equilibrium is unstable, and the delay does not affect the stability of the system, while in the dynamic mechanism, when the delay is less than a critical value, the two sides of the game have an evolutionary stable strategy, otherwise it is unstable, and Hopf bifurcation occurs at threshold. In this paper, the predator–prey model with strong Allee and fear effects is considered. The existence of the equilibria and their stability are established. Especially it is found that there is an interesting degenerate point, which is a cusp point with codimension 2 or higher codimension, or an attracting (repelling)-type saddle-node, subject to different conditions. Then the Hopf bifurcation and its direction, the saddle-node bifurcation and the Bogdanov–Tankens bifurcation are further explored. Afterwards, with the help of the energy estimates and the Leray–Schauder degree, the nonexistence and existence of the nonconstant steady states of the model are presented. From the obtained results, we find that strong Allee effect will cause the per capita growth rate of prey species from negative to positive; both the fear and Allee effects could affect the existence of equilibria and bifurcations; meanwhile, the diffusion rates will affect the existence of the nonconstant steady states. In this paper, we investigate the dynamics of a reaction-diffusion Nicholson's blowflies equation with advection. The stability of positive steady state and existence of Hopf bifurcation are obtained by analyzing the distribution of the eigenvalues. Moreover, by using the center manifold theory and normal form method, an explicit algorithm for determining the direction and stability of the Hopf bifurcation is derived. Meanwhile, we find out that the bifurcation value is increasing with respect to the advection rate. Finally, numerical results demonstrate that the advection term causes the population to move from upstream to downstream, which also indicates that advection term plays a key role in the description and interpretation of some common natural phenomena. This paper delves into the dynamics of a discrete-time predator–prey system. Initially, it presents the existence and stability conditions of the fixed points. Subsequently, by employing the center manifold theorem and bifurcation theory, the conditions for the occurrence of four types of codimension 1 bifurcations (transcritical bifurcation, fold bifurcation, flip bifurcation, and Neimark–Sacker bifurcation) are examined. Then, through several variable substitutions and the introduction of new parameters, the conditions for the existence of codimension 2 bifurcations (fold–flip bifurcation, 1:2 and 1:4 strong resonances) are derived. Finally, some numerical analyses of two-parameter planes are provided. The two-parameter plane plots showcase interesting dynamical behaviors of the discrete system as the integral step size and other parameters vary. The purpose of this paper is to study a predator–prey model with Allee effect and double time delays. This research examines the dynamics of the model, with a focus on positivity, existence, stability and Hopf bifurcations. The stability of the periodic solution and the direction of the Hopf bifurcation are elucidated by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. To validate the correctness of the theoretical analysis, numerical simulations were conducted. The results suggest that a weak Allee effect delay can promote stability within the model, transitioning it from instability to stability. Summary: The unstable operation of a direct‐drive permanent magnet synchronous generator (DPMSG) is exacerbated by periodic oscillation, having a significant impact on the safe and stable functioning of wind energy generation systems. Secondly, the Hopf bifurcation of the system with changes in internal parameters is solved using the time domain and frequency domain methods, and the harmonic balancing method is used to approximate the periodic solution at the point of Hopf bifurcation. The order of the Hopf bifurcation neighborhood is then decreased using the central manifold theorem. Finally, this study suggests a H∞ output feedback control employing bifurcation parameters. The Nyquist criteria are used for evaluating small signal stability and convergence speed of the response system in DPMSG before and after dimensionality reduction. The simulation results suggest that the proposed strategy helps to tackle the periodic solution expression and instability difficulties caused by Hopf bifurcation. The stability of the transportation system refers to the structural stability of the system. When the system structure is unstable, local or global bifurcation phenomena will occur, which is one of the main reasons for nonlinear traffic phenomena such as congestion. To truly understand the internal mechanism of the formation of these phenomena, it is necessary to analyze the bifurcation of traffic flow. In this paper, the Hopf bifurcation control of a modified viscous macroscopic traffic flow model is studied by using the linear state feedback method, which changes the characteristics of the bifurcation phenomenon of the dynamic system and obtains the required dynamic behavior of the system. First, we can convert the original traffic model into the nonlinear ordinary differential form suitable for bifurcation analysis, solve the equilibrium point of the system, and carry out phase plane analysis. Aiming to explore the subtle connection between the number of nonlinear terms in Lorenz-like systems and hidden attractors, this paper introduces a new simple sub-quadratic four-thirds-degree Lorenz-like system, where x ˙ = a (y − x) , y ˙ = c x − x 3 z , z ˙ = − b z + x 3 y , and uncovers the following property of these systems: decreasing the powers of the nonlinear terms in a quadratic Lorenz-like system where x ˙ = a (y − x) , y ˙ = c x − x z , z ˙ = − b z + x y , may narrow, or even eliminate the range of the parameter c for hidden attractors, but enlarge it for self-excited attractors. By combining numerical simulation, stability and bifurcation theory, most of the important dynamics of the Lorenz system family are revealed, including self-excited Lorenz-like attractors, Hopf bifurcation and generic pitchfork bifurcation at the origin, singularly degenerate heteroclinic cycles, degenerate pitchfork bifurcation at non-isolated equilibria, invariant algebraic surface, heteroclinic orbits and so on. The obtained results may verify the generalization of the second part of the celebrated Hilbert's sixteenth problem to some degree, showing that the number and mutual disposition of attractors and repellers may depend on the degree of chaotic multidimensional dynamical systems. In ecology, the most significant aspect is that the interactions between predators and prey are extremely complicated. Numerous experiments have shown that both direct predation and the fear induced in prey by the presence of predators lead to a reduction in prey density in predator-prey interactions. In addition, a suitable shelter can effectively stop predators from attacking as well as support the persistence of prey population. There has been less exploration of the effects of not only fear but also refuge factors on the dynamics of predator prey interactions. In this paper, we unveil several conclusions about a predator-prey system with fuzzy parameters, considering the cost of fear in two prey species and the effect of shelter on two prey species and one predator. As the first step of the investigation, the boundedness and non-negativity of the solutions to the system are put forward. Using the Jocabian matrix and Lyapunov function methods, we further analyze the existence and stability of the available equilibria and also the existence of Hopf bifurcation, considering the fear parameter as the bifurcation parameter that has been observed by applying the normal form theory. From the perspective of ecological control, harvesting behavior plays a crucial role in the ecosystem natural cycle. This paper proposes a diffusive predator-prey system with predator harvesting to explore the impact of harvesting on predatory ecological relationships. First, the existence and boundedness of system solutions were investigated and the non-existence and existence of nonconstant steady states were obtained. Second, the conditions for Turing instability were given to further investigate the Turing patterns. Based on these conditions, the amplitude equations at the threshold of instability were established using weakly nonlinear analysis. Finally, the existence, direction, and stability of Hopf bifurcation were proven. Furthermore, numerical simulations were used to confirm the correctness of the theoretical analysis and show that harvesting has a strong influence on the dynamical behaviors of the predator-prey systems. In this paper, following previous works of ours, we deal with a mathematical model of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. We assume spatial diffusion of free HBV particles, logistic growth for both healthy and infected hepatocytes, and use the standard incidence function for viral infection. Moreover, one time delay is introduced to account for actual virus production. Another time delay is used to account for virus maturation. The existence, uniqueness, positivity and boundedness of solutions are established. Analyzing the model qualitatively and using a Lyapunov functional, we establish the existence of a threshold $ \mathcal {T}_0 $ T 0 such that, if the basic reproduction number $ \mathcal {R}_0 $ R 0 verifies $ \mathcal {R}_0\leq \mathcal {T}_0{ \lt }1 $ R 0 ≤ T 0 < 1 , the infection-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. When $ \mathcal {R}_0 $ R 0 is greater than one, we discuss the local asymptotic stability of the unique endemic equilibrium and the occurrence of a Hopf bifurcation. In this paper, the stability analysis of double Hopf bifurcation is carried out based on the time delay coupled active control system by using the related theory of bifurcation analysis. We got the stability switching region of the system with respect to time delay. The time delay and coupling strength are selected as the bifurcation parameters, then the normal form of the coupled time delay active control system is obtained by using the multi-scale method, and the dynamic behavior near the bifurcation point is obtained. So the parameter region of the stable periodic solution and the stable quasi-periodic solution are obtained. The analytical solution of the system is then solved by using the multi-frequency homotopy analysis method (MFHAM) to verify the existence of the unstable periodic solution. In this era of information technology, information leakage and file corruption due to computer virus intrusion have been serious issues. How to detect and prevent the spread of the computer virus is the major challenge we are facing now. To target this problem, a class of virus propagation models with hybrid control scheme are formulated to investigate the dynamic evolution and prevention from a spatial-temporal perspective in this paper. Diffusion-induced Turing instability is detected in response to the computer virus propagation. The introduction of hybrid control scheme can effective suppress Turing instability and turn the propagation system back to a stable state. And then, the time delay is selected as the bifurcation parameter. If the time delay exceeds the bifurcation threshold, the propagation will be destabilised and a Hopf bifurcation will occur. The hybrid control tactic can not only regulate the occurrence of Hopf bifurcation well, but also optimise the properties of bifurcating period solutions. In high-power photovoltaic systems, the inverter with an LCL filter is widely used to reduce the value of output inductance at which a lower switching frequency is required. However, the effect on the stability of the system caused by an LCL filter due to its resonance characteristic cannot be ignored. This paper studies the stability of a single-phase voltage source full-bridge inverter with an LCL filter through the bifurcation theory as it is a nonlinear system. The simulation results show that low-frequency oscillation appears when the proportional coefficient of the system controller increases or the damping resistance decreases to a certain extent. The average model is derived to analyze the low-frequency oscillation; the theoretical analysis demonstrates that low-frequency oscillation is essentially a period in which doubling bifurcation occurs, which indicates the intrinsic mechanism of the instability of the full-bridge inverter with an LCL filter. Additionally, the limitation of the existing damping resistor design standards, which only considers the main circuit parameters but ignores the influence of the controller on system stability, is identified. To solve this problem, the analytical expression of the system stability boundary is provided, which can not only provide convenience for engineering design to protect the system from low-frequency oscillation but also expand the selection range of damping resistance in practice. The experiments are performed to verify the results of the simulation and theoretical analysis, demonstrating that the analysis method can facilitate the design of the inverter with an LCL filter. In this paper, a class of scalar quartic polynomial delay systems is investigated. We found rich dynamics in this system through numerical simulation, including chaotic attractors, chaotic saddles, and intermittent chaos. Moreover, this chaotic quartic system may serve as an approximation, through Taylor expansion, for a wide class of scalar delay differential equations. Thus, these nonlinear systems may exhibit chaotic behaviors, and the studies in our paper may provide an insight into the emergence of chaos in other time-delay nonlinear systems. We also conduct a detailed theoretical analysis of the system, including the stability of equilibria and Hopf bifurcation analysis based on the theory of normal form and center manifold. In this paper, we consider a Leslie–Gower type reaction–diffusion predator–prey system with an increasing functional response. We mainly study the effect of three different types of diffusion on the stability of this system. The main results are as follows: (1) in the absence of prey diffusion, diffusion-driven instability can occur; (2) in the absence of predator diffusion, diffusion-driven instability does not occur and the non-constant stationary solution exists and is unstable; (3) in the presence of both prey diffusion and predator diffusion, the system can occur diffusion-driven instability and Turing patterns. In this paper, we proposed a two-patch logistic model connected by diffusion, where one patch includes the Gamma type distribution time delay while the other patch does not include the time delay. In general, Routh–Hurwitz criterion is applied to the derivation for the conditions of Hopf bifurcation, but the more the order of the time delay increases the more the difficulty rises. Hence we adopt the polar form method for the characteristic equation to study the stability of coexistence equilibrium. Our findings show that the diffusion prevents the instabilization of the coexistence equilibrium. Besides, we found that the coexistence equilibrium is stable when time delay is small, and becomes unstable as the delay increases. But it can be restabilized for further increasing of time delay and continues to be stable afterwards. We formulate and analyze a simple dynamical systems model for climate-vegetation interaction. The planet we consider consists of a large ocean and a land surface on which vegetation can grow. The temperature affects vegetation growth on land and the amount of sea ice on the ocean. Conversely, vegetation and sea ice change the albedo of the planet, which in turn changes its energy balance and hence the temperature evolution. Our highly idealized, conceptual model is governed by two nonlinear, coupled ordinary differential equations, one for global temperature, the other for vegetation cover. The model exhibits either bistability between a vegetated and a desert state or oscillatory behavior. The oscillations arise through a Hopf bifurcation of the vegetated state, when the death rate of vegetation is low enough. These oscillations are anharmonic and exhibit a sawtooth shape that is characteristic of relaxation oscillations, as well as suggestive of the sharp deglaciations of the Quaternary. Our model's behavior can be compared, on the one hand, with the bistability of even simpler, Daisyworld-style climate-vegetation models. On the other hand, it can be integrated into the hierarchy of models trying to simulate and explain oscillatory behavior in the climate system. Rigorous mathematical results are obtained that link the nature of the feedbacks with the nature and the stability of the solutions. In this paper, a stage structure predator–prey model consisting of three nonlinear ordinary differential equations is proposed and analyzed. The prey populations are divided into two parts: juvenile prey and adult prey. From extensive experimental data, it has been found that prey fear of predators can alter the physiological behavior of individual prey, and the fear effect reduces their reproductive rate and increases their mortality. In addition, we also consider the presence of constant ratio refuge in adult prey populations. Moreover, we consider the existence of intraspecific competition between adult prey species and predator species separately in our model and also introduce the gestation delay of predators to obtain a more realistic and natural eco-dynamic behaviors. We study the positivity and boundedness of the solution of the non-delayed system and analyze the existence of various equilibria and the stability of the system at these equilibria. Next by choosing the intra-specific competition coefficient of adult prey as bifurcation parameter, we demonstrate that Hopf bifurcation may occur near the positive equilibrium point. Then by taking the gestation delay as bifurcation parameter, the sufficient conditions for the existence of Hopf bifurcation of the delayed system at the positive equilibrium point are given. And the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the periodic solution are analyzed by using the center manifold theorem and normal form theory. This paper investigates the dynamics of rent-seeking games that include political competition and policymaker cost model. The local asymptotic stability of multiple equilibrium points and Nash equilibrium points are studied. In the rent-seeking model, the existence and stability of Flip bifurcation and Neimark–Sacker bifurcation are examined, and the corresponding theorems and conditions are derived. The theoretical conclusions of the paper are verified by numerical simulations with different parameters. In this paper, a fractional-order two delays neural network with ring-hub structure is investigated. Firstly, the stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcation of proposed system are obtained by taking the sum of two delays as the bifurcation parameter. Interruptions in turning make the process forces non-smooth and nonlinear. Smooth nonlinear cutting forces result in the process of being stable for small perturbations and unstable for larger ones. Re-entry after interruptions acts as perturbations making the process exhibit bistabilities. Stability for such processes is characterized by Hopf bifurcations resulting in lobes and period-doubling bifurcations resulting in narrow unstable lenses. Interrupted turning remains an important technological problem, and since experimentation to investigate and mitigate instabilities are difficult, this paper instead emulates these phenomena on a controlled hardware-in-the-loop simulator. Emulated cutting on the simulator confirms that bistabilities persist with lobes and lenses. Cutting in bistable regimes should be avoided due to conditional stability. Hence, we demonstrate the use of active damping to stabilize cutting with interruptions/perturbations. To stabilize cutting with small/large perturbations, we successfully implement an adaptive gain tuning scheme that adapts the gain to the level of interruption/perturbation. To facilitate real-time detection of instabilities and their control, we characterize the efficacy of the updating scheme for its dependence on the time required to update the gain and for its dependence on the levels of gain increments. We observe that higher gain increments with shorter updating times result in the process being stabilized quicker. This paper reports the novel results on fractional order-induced bifurcation of a tri-neuron fractional-order neural network (FONN) with delays and instantaneous self-connections by the intersection of implicit function curves to solve the bifurcation critical point. Firstly, it considers the distribution of the root of the characteristic equation in depth. Subsequently, it views fractional order as the bifurcation parameter and establishes the transversal condition and stability interval. The main novelties of this paper are to systematically analyze the order as a bifurcation parameter and concretely establish the order critical value through an implicit function array, which is a novel idea to solve the critical value. In this paper, by replacing the exponential memory kernel function of a tabu learning single-neuron model with the power-law memory kernel function, a novel Caputo's fractional-order tabu learning single-neuron model and a network of two interacting fractional-order tabu learning neurons are constructed firstly. Different from the integer-order tabu learning model, the order of the fractional-order derivative is used to measure the neuron's memory decay rate and then the stabilities of the models are evaluated by the eigenvalues of the Jacobian matrix at the equilibrium point of the fractional-order models. By choosing the memory decay rate (or the order of the fractional-order derivative) as the bifurcation parameter, it is proved that Hopf bifurcation occurs in the fractional-order tabu learning single-neuron model where the value of bifurcation point in the fractional-order model is smaller than the integer-order model's. By numerical simulations, it is shown that the fractional-order network with a lower memory decay rate is capable of producing tangent bifurcation as the learning rate increases from 0 to 0.4. When the learning rate is fixed and the memory decay increases, the fractional-order network enters into frequency synchronization firstly and then enters into amplitude synchronization. During the synchronization process, the oscillation frequency of the fractional-order tabu learning two-neuron network increases with an increase in the memory decay rate. This paper is concerned with the sustained periodic oscillation phenomenon in a three-species delayed predation system with Holling type II functional response and age structure in top predator. The top predator fertility function is regarded as a piecewise continuous smooth function with regard to their maturation period τ 2 . The complicated dynamic behavior is proved by integrated semigroup theory and Hopf bifurcation theorem for semilinear equations with non-dense domain. Through qualitative analysis and bifurcation study of the system, we yield that this system has a nontrivial periodic solution that bifurcates from the positive equilibrium age distribution when bifurcation parameter τ passes through some critical values. In this paper, an SIRS epidemic model using Grunwald–Letnikov fractional-order derivative is formulated with the help of a nonlinear system of fractional differential equations to analyze the effects of fear in the population during the outbreak of deadly infectious diseases. The criteria for the spread or extinction of the disease are derived and discussed on the basis of the basic reproduction number. The condition for the existence of Hopf bifurcation is discussed considering fractional order as a bifurcation parameter. Additionally, using the Grunwald–Letnikov approximation, the simulation is carried out to confirm the validity of analytic results graphically. Using the real data of COVID-19 in India recorded during the second wave from 15 May 2021 to 15 December 2021, we estimate the model parameters and find that the fractional-order model gives the closer forecast of the disease than the classical one. Due to factors such as climate change, natural disasters, and deforestation, most measurement processes and initial data may have errors. Therefore, models with imprecise parameters are more realistic. This paper constructed a new predator-prey model with an interval biological coefficient by using the interval number as the model parameter. First, the stability of the solution of the fractional order model without a diffusion term and the Hopf bifurcation of the fractional order α were analyzed theoretically. Then, taking the diffusion coefficient of prey as the key parameter, the Turing stability at the equilibrium point was discussed. The amplitude equation near the threshold of the Turing instability was given by using the weak nonlinear analysis method, and different mode selections were classified by using the amplitude equation. In this paper, a delay differential equation model is investigated, which describes the biodegradation of microcystins (MCs) by Sphingomonas sp. and its degrading enzymes. First, the local stability of the positive equilibrium and the existence of the Hopf bifurcation are obtained. Second, the global attractivity of the positive equilibrium is obtained by constructing suitable Lyapunov functionals, which implies that the biodegradation of microcystins is sustainable under appropriate conditions. In addition, some numerical simulations of the model are carried out to illustrate the theoretical results. Finally, the parameters of the model are determined from the experimental data and fitted to the data. In this paper, the existence and number of non-contractible limit cycles of the Josephson equation $ \beta \frac{d^{2}\Phi}{dt^{2}}+(1+\gamma \cos \Phi)\frac{d\Phi}{dt}+\sin \Phi = \alpha $ are studied, where $ \phi\in \mathbb S^{1} $ and $ (\alpha,\beta,\gamma)\in \mathbb R^{3} $. Concretely, by using some appropriate transformations, we prove that such type of limit cycles are changed to limit cycles of some Abel equation. By developing the methods on limit cycles of Abel equation, we prove that there are at most two non-contractible limit cycles, and the upper bound is sharp. At last, combining with the results of the paper (Chen and Tang, J. Differential Equations, 2020), we show that the sum of the number of contractible and non-contractible limit cycles of the Josephson equation is also at most two, and give the possible configurations of limit cycles when two limit cycles appear.
