本研究は第二言語学習者の暗示的知識を測定するために用いられる時間制限付き文法性判断テストの妥当性を検証する。第二言語習得理論において、学習者の暗示的言語知識と明示的言語知識は区別され、これらの二種の言語知識が第二言語習得にどのように寄与するのかということ明らかにするための研究が続けられている。このため、多くの研究が無意識的あるいは自動的という暗示的言語知識の特徴を考慮して作成されたテストを用いて暗示的言語知識の測定を試みてきた。そうしたテストの一つに、時間制限付き文法性判断テストがある。しかしながら、このテストの妥当性はいくつかの理由により不確実に思われる。その妥当性を検証するために、本研究では実証実験を行った。R. Ellis の心理測定法を用いた研究(2005 年、2009 年)を参照し、時間制限付き文法判断性テスト含めた4種類のテストを英語学習者に対して行った。実験の結果は、時間制限付き文法判断性テストは学習者の暗示的言語知識を測定するには十分な妥当性がないことを示した。本研究の結果は、どのようにして暗示的言語知識の特性である自動性を測定条件としてテストに組み込むかということ、更には自動性の定義をも再考する必要があることを示唆した。, The present study investigates the validity of time-pressured Grammatical Judgement Tests (GJT) to elicit second language (L2) learners' linguistic implicit knowledge. In the studies of second language acquisition (SLA),learners' implicit knowledge is distinguished from their explicit knowledge, and both of the knowledge have been investigated to reveal how these two types of knowledge contribute to the acquisition of second languages. For this purpose, many studies attempted to elicit L2 implicit and explicit knowledge separately employing the test measures which were designed considering the key definitions of implicit knowledge such as lack of awareness and automaticity. One of these tests is timed GJT. However, the validity of the test is considered to be uncertainbecause of several reasons. In order to examine the validity of timed GJTs, the empirical research was conducted.In this research, four tests including a timed GJT were administered to EFL leaners with reference to R. Ellis's psychometric study (2005, 2009). The results of the research revealed that time-pressured GJTs are not reliable enough to elicit learners' implicit knowledge. The results suggested that it should be considered how automaticity,which is one of the key definitions of implicit knowledge, can be successfully set into the tests which aim to measure L2 implicit knowledge. Furthermore, it also implies that the definition of automaticity should be revisited.

西田幾多郎は、初期大乗仏教の「空」の論理を基礎に、「場所的論理」あるいは「場所的弁証法」と呼ばれる独自の論理を打ち立て、それによってヘーゲル弁証法における「拡大する自己」の問題を超えようとした。西田と、「空」の哲学を基礎づけたナーガールジュナは、ともに、「慈悲」を超越者の自己否定ととらえたが、ナーガールジュナが「空」を説いた目的は、人々を業の苦しみから救うことにあった。いっぽう、西田は絶対無からいかに歴史的世界が生じるかを論じるとともに、そこから宗教的意識が生じる世界の構造を明らかにしたのである。, Based on the philosophy of Emptiness in early Mahayana Buddhism, and influenced by western philosophy, especially that of Hegel, Kitaro Nishida developed a unique logic called the Logic of Place or the Dialectic of Place. Though Both Nishida and Nagarjuna, who laid the philosophical foundation of Emptiness, regards that Compassion comes out of the self-negation of Emptiness (sunyata) / Absolute Nothingness, Nishida goes further and describes how the world arises from Absolute Nothingness. He also explains the structure of the world which entails religious consciousness.

「逆対応」とは西田幾多郎の用語であり、絶対と相対(人間)という相対立するものが、自己否定的に対応しあう宗教的関係を表している。西田によれば、このような否定を媒介するものは絶対者の自己表現であるところの言葉であり、仏教の場合は名号がそれにあたる。では、言葉を否定し、一切が空であるとする空観においては、このような逆対応的関係は成立しないのであろうか。空の経験は、それだけでは、西田が「平常底」と呼ぶ自在的立場を意味するものではない。空の自覚による肯定的転換を経て、はじめて、人は、否定と肯定という二項対立をはなれ、執着をはなれた自在的立場に達することができる。空の哲学を築いたといわれる『中論』において、このような自在的立場に到る道は「中道」と呼ばれている。それは、空にほかならない仏陀が、慈悲による自己否定により示した道である。このような仏陀の慈悲に導かれて、人は、自らが空であるという仏陀の自覚を自覚する。そして自覚が深まるにつれて、世界はより慈悲に満ちたものとして経験されるのである。このような宗教経験は西田が「逆対応」と呼ぶものに相当する。空の経験において言葉は止滅するが、言葉がなければ仏教的真実は示されない。このような逆対応的経験において、ひとは、仏陀の慈悲を表現する世界の自己表現点となり、それを通して、仏教的真実が示されるのである。ただし、「中道」を歩む者に対して仏陀は、同時に空であるという自己矛盾的側面を露呈する。このような仏陀の自己矛盾的側面によって、「中道」を歩む者は、自己を際限なく否定し、その自覚はより深まるのである。, Inverse Polarity is a term invented by Kitaro Nishida, which means a self-negative interrelation between the Absolute and the human. According to Nishida, what mediates such interrelation is the word as the self-expression of the absolute. In Christianity, it is the Word of God, which created the human world, while in Buddhism it is the Name of Buddha, which exclusively expresses the compassionate vow taken by Buddha. The question here is whether such interrelation can also be seen in the realization of emptiness, where, it is said, the function oflanguage is to cease. The mere experience of emptiness does not mean the unbounded standpoint Nishida calls common human experience. It is not until the self is transformed by the realization of emptiness that one can attain such unbounded standpoint. The way to attain such standpoint is called the middle path by Nagarjuna. It is the path shown by Buddha through his self-negative compassion, without which it would be impossible for one to realize Buddha's realization. As one's realization of emptiness becomes more profound, the world is experienced as more deeply and extensively embraced by the compassion of Buddha. This religious experience is equivalent to what Nishida calls inverse polarity. In the experience of inverse polar relation, one becomes a unique point of the world's self-expression through which Buddha's compassion is demonstrated. However, to the one who practices the middle path, Buddha shows the self-contradictory aspect that he is at the same time emptiness. By virtue of this aspect of Buddha, the one who practices the middle path is put to the endless self-negation, for which one's self-realization becomes all the more profound.

1970年代にハリウッドで作られたブラックスプロイテーション映画には女性蔑視を助長するような作品が少なくないが、『コフィ』(1973年)や『クレオパトラ・ジョーンズ』(1973年)などの女性主人公は、それまでとは違った、美しくて強いという新しい女性像を打ち出している。その特徴はヘアスタイルや衣装で際立っているが、それらは単に映画のために作られたものではなく、当時のファッションを反映するもので、黒人社会におけるブラックパワー運動、フェミニズムの台頭、美に対する意識変革などと密接に関わっている。つまり、ブラックスプロイテーション映画における強い女性像は当時の社会的および文化的背景を反映し、またそれらに影響を及ぼした。映画のストーリーだけでなく俳優のヘアスタイル、衣装、メイクなどが黒人女性表象の歴史を辿るうえで重要な映画的表現法の一つとなっており、一見すると現実離れしているような内容の映画も歴史を映す貴重な資料となり得る。, he strong female lead characters in blaxploitation films such as Coffy (1973), Cleopatra Jones (1973), and Foxy Brown (1974), depart from the conventional depiction of black women in Hollywood film. In these films, women are portrayed as both strong and beautiful, and such attributes are emphasized not only by their physical prowess, natural beauty, and intelligence but also through their hairstyle and outfits. This study attempts to reveal the relationship between the sociocultural contexts and female-oriented blaxploitation films and to reconsider the importance of cinematic excess for the historical representation of black women. Utilizing contemporaneous advertisements and articles in black magazines, this paper analyzes how the ads about hair products and clothing articulated racial pride and what kind of images of women were presented to black people. Blaxploitation films played an important part in reflecting or contributing to the era's trend, providing uplift messages in their fantastic narratives and images.

2004年にリリースされた『バッドアス!』は、マリオ・ヴァン・ピープルズ監督が、父親であるメルヴィン・ヴァン・ピープルズ監督の『スウィート・スウィートバック』(1971年)の制作過程を描いたユニークな作品である。『スウィート・スウィートバック』はアフリカ系アメリカ人のまたは独立系映画史上に残る有名な、前例のない作品であるが、その制作過程についての映画の制作も、独立系の映画制作者がしばしば直面する問題にぶつかった。そのことは逆に父親の映画の精神を受け継ぐことにはなるのだが、『バッドアス!』は『スウィート・スウィートバック』のように興行収入の面では成功しなかった。この論考では、『バッドアス!』の着想から興業までの一連の過程を詳しく追っていくことで、独立系の映画がどのように制作されどのように上映されていくのかを示す。またそこから見いだせるアメリカの(独立系)映画産業の現状や課題についても考察する。, This paper investigates the production and distribution history of an American film, Baadasssss /(2004) directed by Mario Van Peebles. The film is unique in that it depicts the production process of Melvin Van Peebles's revolutionary film, Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song (1971). Mario Van Peebles not only wrote and directed the film but also played the main character of Baadasssss! just like his father Melvin Van Peebles had done 33 years ago. The film also followed the similar step of Sweetback for its small production budget, limited shooting schedule and small distribution scale. An overview of the film's production history from its conception to theatrical release reveals current situations and problematics of the US (independent) film industry.

本稿では、国交回復以前の日中関係が、それ以降の日中関係とどのように類似しており、あるいはどのように異なっているのかを比較考察している。国交なき時代(1946-1971)の日中関係を考察することにより、21世紀の日中関係を考える上でより客観的で興味深い視点を提示することが本外交史研究の主目的である。本研究の成果として私が論じたいのは、日中関係の基本構造は国交回復以前の時期もそれ以後の時期もほぼ同じだということである。つまり、戦後、頻繁に繰り返された政治的及び外交的衝突にもかかわらず、日中両国は一貫して相手を最も利益的な経済パートナーとして明確に認識し活用しあってきたのである。本稿では、論点の証拠としてあるいはまた歴史的経緯をより深く考察する手段として、著者が外務省外交資料館より収集した外交文書(作成当時は極秘扱いのものを含む)を使用している。, This article looks at Sino-Japanese relations during the period from 1946 to 1971 - that is, the period prior to the normalisation of diplomatic relations - with particular focus on the major China policies formulated by Japan's post-war conservative governments. It also compares basic characteristics of Sino-Japanese relations between 1946 and 1971 to those in the recent years. This article demonstrates, first, that despite the Cold War international system that separated Japan and China into different and rival ideological camps, geographical proximity and commercial interests consistently encouraged Japanese governments to pursue economic and diplomatic relations with China during the period from 1946 and 1971. However, diplomatic pressure from both the US and Taiwan governments not to recognise the People's Republic of China (PRC), socio-political chaos in China caused by the Great Leap Forward campaign and the Cultural Revolution, and China's political use of its informal connections with non-governmental Japanese actors made it impossible for Japanese governments to forge official economic and diplomatic relations with China. Second, the article argues that basic structure of Sino-Japanese relations has remained the same before and after the normalisation of diplomatic relations. That is, Japan and China repeatedly confront each other politically and strategically while seeking greater access to each other's economic resources.

『中論』においてナーガールジュナは、言語が現実をそのまま言い表すことができるという人々の考え方を批判し、言語がそこで止滅するところの空を示そうとする。ただし、彼は空という見解を主張しようとしたわけではない。テトラレンマに基づいたナーガールジュナの帰謬法的論法は、自らの主張さえをも否定する。ナーガールジュナはむしろ、二項対立的言語が陥らざるを得ないアポリアを暴露し、それによって空を示そうとするのである。言語が陥らざるを得ないアポリアとは、言語世界の裂け目であり、非言語世界への開けである。このような開けとして経験される空は、伝統的解釈でいわれるような、自性の否定ではない。空が自性の否定と解されてきたのは、自性は縁起と相容れないものであるがゆえであるが、自性がなければそもそも事物の存在すら成り立たない。自性が非言語に開けているとき、事物は自立していると同時に他に依存している。つまり、自己同一的存在として縁起によって生じうるのである。, In Mulamadhyamakakarika, Nagarjuna criticizes the idea that language can represent reality as it is, and tries to show emptiness (sunyata). Yet his intention is not to maintain the view of emptiness. He employs the dialectical method based on tetralemma, which can be called reductio ad absurdum with the exception that it does not demonstrate the authenticy of the contradictory assumption, for tetralemma is still more destructive than dilemma and denies even one's own view. With this dialectical method, Nagarjuna tries to reveal an aporia into which language with its dichotomous nature is doomed to fall, and thus tries to show emptiness. The aporia that language is to fall into is, as it were, the chasm opened in the language-constructed world, which is none other than an opening into the realm of non-language. Emptiness, which can be experienced as such an opening, cannot be a denial of self-nature (svabhava), as traditionally interpreted. In my opinion, the word emptiness rather implies the openness of self-nature. The reason that emptiness has been interpreted as a denial of self-nature is that dependent origination (pratitya-samutpada) is not compatible with self-nature. The problem is, however, things cannot even exist as they are without self-nature, and when things do not exist, there is no dependent origination. In contrast, when the self-nature of things is, so to speak, open to the realm of non-language, they can be both independent and dependent at the same time, that is, they can dependently originate as something.

本研究は、日中関係を政治経済学の視点より分析するものです。さらに詳しく言うと、本研究は1979年以降の対中国政府開発援助(ODA)に関する日本の外交政策、及び、その政策に隠された日本の政治・経済・戦略的国益の追求を、日中それぞれの国内事情や日中関係をとりまく国際的環境といった要因に着目しながら考察するものです。本研究によって明らかとなったことは、日本の対中国開発援助に関する政策目標は過去四半世紀にわたって不変であったわけではなく、実は日中それぞれの国内事情や国際環境の変化に敏感に呼応するかたちで、大きく変って来ているという点です。一方、これらの対中ODA政策の個別目標の変化とは対照的に、日本の中国外交の基本コンセプトともいえる「関与政策」は、1979年から現在まで一貫して継続されてきています。, This research looks at Sino-Japanese relations since 1979 from a political economy perspective. More particularly, it investigates the complex policy aims of Japanese development assistance to China and the broader interests behind it, with reference to major external and internal factors that encouraged the evolution of these objectives and interests. The research demonstrates first that the policy aims of Japan's development assistance to China and the national interests behind it have evolved according to changes in the international and domestic environments. Second, although policy objectives have changed, the fundamental concept which underlies Japan's China policy, engagement with China, has remained consistent.
