A recent study conducted at Ryhov County Hospital in Jonkoping, Sweden compared the effectiveness of modern heart failure therapy with conventional treatment. The study analyzed data from the Swedish Heart Failure Registry and included 20,849 heart failure patients. The results showed that modern therapy, which includes angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) and sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i), was associated with a significant reduction in all-cause and cardiovascular mortality compared to conventional treatment. These findings were consistent across different subgroups of patients. The study provides real-life evidence supporting the superiority of modern heart failure treatment. [Extracted from the article]

As place branding becomes more significant to a city, events have become a way to attract visitors nationally and internationally. Large cities are putting on events that can attract millions of people. While the literature has excellent knowledge on events in place branding, the small city is neglected. Events that utilize nature are one of the main ways cities arrangeevents. Nature has endless potential and can provide fantastic opportunities for a city. Research is needed into small cities and how to use natural events in place branding to compete with large cities. This study aims to demonstrate and analyze outdoor/nature events' role in place branding. The study also aims to research this in the context of a small city, as the literature has a heavy bias towards large cities in place branding and even more so with events in place branding. The method used in this paper is a qualitative case study methodology since we wanted to investigate Destination Jönköping’s work with place branding thoroughly. Furthermore, direct observations and document analysis were made to build the analysis. The results of our study show that Destination Jönköping extensively uses Nature events in place branding in order to deal with a lack of resources as a small city. While nature events are used by all cities in place branding efforts, small cities have a more significant benefit as they have difficulty competing with large cities in large-scale indoor and city events.

Background Closed and open surgical techniques are two different main approaches to surgical exposure of palatally displaced canines (PDCs). Because there is insufficient evidence to support one technique over the other, there is a need for randomized controlled trials. Objectives To compare surgery time, complications and patients' perceptions between closed and open surgical techniques in PDCs. Trial design The trial was a multicentre, randomized, controlled trial with two parallel groups randomly allocated in a 1:1 ratio. Material and methods Study participants were 119 consecutive patients from 3 orthodontic centres, with PDCs planned for surgical exposure, randomly allocated according to a computer-generated randomization list, using concealed allocation. Full-thickness mucoperiosteal flap was raised, and bone covering the canine was removed in both interventions. In closed exposure, an attachment with a chain was bonded to the canine and the flap was sutured back with the chain penetrating the mucosa. In open exposure, a window of tissue around the tooth was removed and glass ionomer cement placed on the canine crown, to prevent gingival overgrowth during spontaneous eruption. Patient perceptions were assessed with two questionnaires, for the evening on the day of operation and 7 days post-surgery. Blinding It was not possible to blind either patients or care providers to the interventions. The outcome assessors were blinded and were unaware of patients' intervention group. Results Seventy-five girls and 44 boys, mean age 13.4 years (SD 1.46) participated in the study and got either of the interventions (closed exposure, n = 60; open exposure, n = 59). Surgery time did not differ significantly between the interventions. Complications though were more severe in bilateral cases and the patients experienced more pain and impairment in the open group. Conclusion There were no statistically significant differences regarding surgery time between the groups. Postoperative complications were similar between the groups in unilateral PDCs, but more common in the open group in bilateral cases. More patients in the open group experienced pain and impairment compared to the closed group. 6. New Restless Legs Syndrome Data Have Been Reported by Researchers at Jonkoping University [Validation of Two Brief Instruments (The Sure and Collaborate) To Measure Shared Decision-making In Patients With Restless Legs Syndrome].
- Abstract
Researchers at Jonkoping University in Sweden have conducted a study on Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), a common neurological disorder characterized by an urge to move arms and legs, often accompanied by discomfort, pain, restlessness, and sleep disturbance. The study aimed to validate two instruments, SURE and CollaboRATE, to measure shared decision-making (SDM) in patients with RLS. The instruments were found to be unidimensional with satisfactory internal consistency, making them potential tools for research and reflection by healthcare professionals, patients, and students to explore and assess SDM in clinical care. We are leaving traces on the surface of earth, and have been doing so, for a long time. However, for the last 300 years or so, we seem not only to be leaving traces, but objects foreign to our system on an abnormal scale. Traces that are not obvious to the eye, but hidden behind the obviousness of the present. They can be found in the air, in the water, in the rings of the trees or in the glaciers of Greenland. What will be left after us? In a search of time and traces, to come closer to an understanding of how time passes, I have looked into man made objects. Objects, that have been constructed with time written differently into their structures. These ideas have been implemented in a geographical focal point in the area of Rosenlund sand banks, by lake Vättern, Sweden. From an architect’s point of view I have tried to understand the present that we are now dealing with, the Anthropocene, its implications and the impact of what we create as humans. This, by reconnecting a past and a future to the present through speculation, and by letting the ground play a major part as a mute, inverted infinity with all its layers bearing witness of a past that once laid super strata.

With the COVID-19 pandemic taking over the world faster than anyone had anticipated and creating a ‘new normal’, consumers had to adapt and get used to these changes. The pandemic caused lockdowns in several parts of the world, where businesses, schools, and stores had to shut their doors, although essential stores such as grocery stores remained open. Not only did this happen, but consumers' social life was also impacted as they were asked to stay at home and limit their contact with other people. The COVID-19 pandemic caused a shift in the practices of consumers, with food and safety being one of the most essential needs, consumers converted to stockpiling on food and hygienic products which led to a lower on shelf availability in grocery stores. Even though many countries around the world imposed a lockdown, Sweden never imposed any lockdown during the COVID-19 period, making it an interesting country to research. Although Sweden did implement some measures which for all public areas meant a limited amount of people allowed in the store, whereas other measures were more focused on recommendations such as keeping distance, avoiding large crowds, and working and studying from home as much as possible. Ultimately, the COVID-19 pandemic did impact university students in Sweden, as student life completely stopped on campus and classes were partly given through Zoom. The city of Jönköping is a city where many students live, and over 19.000 students are registered at the university of Jönköping. These students are in a crucial stage of their life where new experiences and changes are happening. This initiated the purpose of the study to research whether the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the grocery shopping practices of students pre and during the COVID-19 pandemic in the city of Jönköping. To perform the research a qualitative study has been conducted. An interview was formulated after reviewing the literature to gather information from university students in Jönköping, where the aim was to analyze their grocery shopping practices before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 15 university students were interviewed, in the age range of 23-26, who all study and live in the city of Jönköping during the pandemic. To study the practices of the students, the framework of Arsel and Bean (2013) has been applied. The objects and doings of the students pre and during COVID-19 have been researched and analyzed, and from the collected data, categories of meanings have been identified to analyze the meanings of the objects that were used and the doings that were performed by the informants. Changes in practices were identified in which the students mainly kept the same grocery shopping routine with adaptations to protect themselves against the virus. The grocery stores are visited less frequently, and items are avoided out of fear of getting infected. The main practices identified is that the students started to wash their hands, keep distance, and started to use hand sanitizer as protective measures. This thesis provides a guide for governmental institutions on how consumers react to regulations during a pandemic. Also, this may help grocery stores to know how consumers adapt their grocery shopping practices amidst a pandemic.

Objective. The aim of the study was to test the hypothesis that root-filled teeth are at a higher caries risk than non-root-filled teeth. Materials and methods. Two sub-samples from epidemiologically obtained data collected in 1983, 1993 and 2003 in the city of Jönköping, Sweden, were analysed. All the participants were examined clinically and radiographically and the type of filling and the presence or absence of caries were recorded. Sub-sample 1 comprised 832 individuals (9202 teeth) aged 20-70 years with at least eight premolars/molars. In sub-sample 2, 163 subjects (577 teeth) with only one or two decayed tooth surfaces and at least one tooth with full crown coverage were analysed. Results . Logistic regression analysis found that root-filled teeth were predictive of recurrent caries when controlling for the type of restoration in sub-sample 1 (OR == 1.68; 1.41-2.0; CI 95%) and sub-sample 2 (OR == 2.20; 1.07-4.52; CI 95%). Conclusion . In support of the suggested hypothesis, the data revealed a significant association between root-filled teeth and recurrent caries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

21. Faith, superstition and witchcraft in Reformation Scandinavia.
- Abstract
In a book of sermons, published in 1592, the Lutheran bishop of Stavanger, Jørgen Erickssøn, pointed out the unambiguous connection between superstition and witchcraft. He blamed the papists for trying to teach the peasantry that they could subdue storms through the burning of consecrated herbs and suppress the forces released by the devil with incense. This was nothing but ‘sheer idolatry and witchcraft’ which Man had been forbidden to use. The view of Jørgen Erickssøn coincided with that of the fathers of the Reformation, Luther and Calvin. For both reformers, the fight against superstition and its instigators on one hand, and the persecution of witches on the other, represented identical concerns: the need to expose the false play of the devil. Superstition was contrasted with the true religion. During the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries when this concept was used in Denmark against remnants of Catholic ideas and more generally about every deviation from official doctrine, it was directly inspired by Luther's view of the mass, purgatory, the sacraments, fasts, worship of saints, baptism of bells and wax candles, worship of relics, indulgences and pilgrimages. Luther considered such rites to be superstitious, because believers did not put their faith in God alone. Theologically the early Danish reformers were rooted in Christian humanism rather than Lutheranism. This can be seen from several of their writings from the early 1530s. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Finding an optimal route for a new highway alignment is a task which requires a lot of resources. In the planning phase, choosing the location of a new highway alignment is very important as it will heavily affect the total construction cost. However, the perfect location of a new highway alignment is ambiguous depending on many parameters. The objective of this study is to explore the use of Geographical Information Systems when designing candidate locations, in the planning phase of the construction, of new highway alignments. This will be executed by finding least-cost corridors in a raster space known as a cost map based on stated criteria. The least-cost corridors are calculated using a Least-Cost Corridor algorithm (Shirabe, 2015) and will represent an area of the optimal location. The study is based on calculations performed in an area containing parts of the E4-highway in Jönköping, Sweden. The study area is approximately 50,000 hectares, containing features such as water bodies, urban areas, fields, forests, hills and more. Lantmäteriet provides the datasets available at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. All feature layers are converted to raster in ArcMap, which allows the use of ArcGIS Spatial Analyst tools and to assign values to different fields in a layer. Due to limitations of the algorithm, the study area is divided into two sections and the raster layers are aggregated from a cell size of 2 meters to a cell size of 20 meters. By assigning scoring to the different feature layers, and allocation of criterion weights between the layers, cost criteria maps will be calculated. Three cost maps are calculated with three different allocations using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Finally, to generate the optimal candidate highway alignments using the algorithm, the corridor width is set to 400 meters which is 20 pixels in the raster space. In conclusion, what we found is that GIS works well as a tool for the purpose of designing candidate locations of alternative routes of existing highways. However, the results are suggestive which means that the computer cannot be left alone to choose a final alignment. Instead, it facilitates the work and perfects a problem based on human conceptualizations of the real world. The limitations of GIS for this purpose is mainly the cost assessment and allocation of weights between criteria. It is difficult to establish the significance of one layer to another since all criteria do not have an actual cost. It is important to note that any weights will be subjective, further reinforcing GIS as a means for getting suggestive results for highway alignment problems.

Background City branding is an emerging practice that is executed by an increasing number of cities all around the world. The concept is used to transform a location into a destination by applying different strategies. Jönköping is a growing city in terms of size, revenue and population. Two organisations, Destination Jönköping and Jönköping City AB, are constantly working with city branding in Jönköping to improve its city image. Purpose The purpose of this study is to identify and investigate the collaboration between Destination Jönköping and Jönköping City AB and if a partnership exists. Another part of the purpose is to recognise the main elements that have been used in order to achieve the same goal, which is to generate growth. Furthermore, an investigation will be performed of how significant these specific elements have been and still are for Jönköping’s branding process. Method In order to achieve the purpose of the thesis, primary as well as secondary data have been collected. Interviews, a case study and existing literature have provided a well-established foundation for the analysis and conclusion. ConclusionThe authors found that the two organisations often help each other with different projects, however, they do not have a declared partnership. A partnership would be beneficial for both organisations regarding greater resources, larger networks and possibilities to reach wider target groups. The most important elements are Elmia and Jönköping University, which attract individuals to Jönköping. This results in an increase in the city’s growth.

Purpose - The thesis is based around on of the most commonly used scientific terms in economics today, cluster. Many actors tend to claim that their regions are working clusters and when the Logkomp project was initiated, the authors wanted to research whether a logistics cluster existed in the Jönköping-Nässjö-Vaggeryd region. Methodology - This research is purely based on the involved actors’ perception whether a cluster exists or not, rather than based on calculations. The actors were interviewed with both short questions with rating from 1-10 and deeper questions where they were allowed to elaborate their answers more freely. Since the project is ran by the municipalities in the region, the municipalities role in the cluster was examined thoroughly and the companies’ perception of cooperation with the municipalities were compared to the municipalities’ perceptions of their own performance. Conclusions - Based on the interview results, the authors were able to compare the perceived situation in the region with academic definitions and models, thus evaluating the level of clusterness. It can be shown that the region is slowly becoming a logistics cluster but there is several important factors that need to be taken into consideration before this can happen. It is also apparent that all involved actors need to pull their weight and there is potential for improvement by all actors.

The escalating urbanization process has given rise to various complications in the urban structure. One of the major issues is the one concerning urban cohesion. As modern cities are facing a transformation from industrial to knowledge societies, many aspects have to be taken into consideration in the planning of cities. This thesis aims to study the significance of a cohesive city centre from a social and spatial point of view, and to understand modern cities’ development towards innovative Knowledge Cities. The objective is to present proposals for how a unification of a fragmented downtown can be made possible seen from a Knowledge City perspective. The two main research questions of this thesis are answered by literary reviews of existing theories in urban planning, by a case study of the downtown area in the Swedish city of Jönköping, and finally also by a design proposal showing on how urban cohesiveness can be obtained from a Knowledge City perspective. If cities are to become successful knowledge cities they have to promote culture, attractiveness and above all an innovative urban environment. Innovation is mainly achieved by so called “innovation engines” – simple urban elements, such as a café or a library. For innovation to emerge, human interaction and meetings have to occur in the urban environment, why innovation engines are key factors in the development towards knowledge cities. As human interaction is maximized in the simple meetings between people, added interaction possibilities are enabled in public spaces such as a square or a pedestrian street. Public spaces are used as a tool for assembling people in the city. They have positive impact on the city only when they are part of a whole, and works as a network system in the urban structure. This is why urban cohesiveness is essential in the planning of modern cities. Public space is a fundamental feature in the urban structure, endorsing coherence, urban quality and human affiliation, making it an essential element if a city is to be coherent. Cohesion in public spaces can be regulated by the design and planning of cities and either stimulate or dampen the public areas. Gathering people creates opportunities for people to interact on an individual level and thereby stimulate each other, and it is people that need to be gathered rather than buildings. Urban activities and the complementarity between public spaces needs to promote social dynamics, which in turn enhances the urban experience, enables urban cohesion and minimizes social exclusion and urban fragmentation.

This paper looks at the perceptions of people within and outside of Jönköping, regard-ing the main attractions/attributes within the Jönköping region and how they are being branded by the municipality. A model was formed to explain how consumer expecta-tions affect demand, and based on that a survey was handed out to find out consumers travelling habits, general perceptions about Jönköping and its branding. The results show that promotion has not been as successful as hoped and that Jönköping is still seen as a religious city among the respondents. A Las Vegas Entertainment Concept was formed to find out whether people would be willing to visit Jönköping more often if something „new‟ was presented. In conclusion, for consumers to visit more often new experiences have to be provided. It is all about the way Jönköping city is marketed in the future and what it will be able to offer to the different consumer segments visiting.

Background & Problem discussion: Recently, there has been an increased interest in topics such as immigrant entrepreneurship. Considering that most of the research until now is done in America with American examples, it would be beneficial if such results are verified or refuted in other countries as well, such as Sweden (Brundin, Bögenhold and Sundin, 2001). Overall, businesses ran by immigrant entrepreneurs are creating job opportunities and encouraging Europe’s economy, even though exposed to limited immigration policies and unpleasant public opinion (Halkias et al., 2007). Immigrant entrepreneurs are not a new phenomenon in Sweden and according to Hammarstedt (2004) immigrant self-employment compared to native small-businesses has increased throughout the years, and therefore an important role in the integration of immigrants was made possible by the self-employment sector as a source of employment. Rather than that, most of the research done in this topic by many researchers has been focused in factors triggering immigrant entrepreneurs to start a business, but less researchers were focused in understanding the challenges they face and strategies they adopt in order to survive. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to identify challenges that immigrant entrepreneurs face while starting and running their businesses and analyze how they are interrelated and how do immigrant entrepreneurs cope with them in the setting of a medium-sized town in Sweden. Jönköping as a medium sized town in Sweden is our context. Theoretical framework: The literature used in this study covers studies conducted in different context such as: American, European and Swedish. The conducted studies involve case studies in different context done with immigrant entrepreneurs are mainly about the challenges they face and the strategies they adopt as solutions to those challenges. Such theory helped us identify common challenges among immigrant entrepreneurs. Nevertheless, considering that the existing literature does not explicitly discuss the role of the context (metropolitan, large city, medium-sized town, small (rural town), local community etc), we have to inquire especially into that and use our own data to build a supplementary theory. Method: The method used in this study is a qualitative approach but also with some minor elements of a quantitative approach (the use of the questionnaire during the interviews asked from the respondents to rank the challenges and therefore helped to find out the most significant challenge among them). Considering that generally our study followed a qualitative approach, we have conducted ‘face-to-face’ interviews. There were eight semi-structured interviews. All of the interviews were tape recorded. Conclusion: The findings of this study showed that challenges faced by our respondents were: start-up finance, finance for growth, access to markets, lack of language skills, lack of marketing/sales skills, lack of management skills, access to technology, lack of education, lack of visitors to Jönköping, maintaining customers, Swede’s negative views on immigrant businesses, awareness of food among customers, and competition. However, the four most significant challenges among them were: access to markets, start-up finance, lack of language skills and finance for growth. Besides that the findings show that the strategies that are adopted by immigrant entrepreneurs that we interviewed include the following: use of personal savings, use of personal networks, bank loan, enter low market barriers, scanning the market beforehand, asking help from their customers about language barriers or taking a language course before starting, among others. The findings showed that the context is important to a great extent but besides context, in order for the immigrant venture to occur it matters to a great extent, who the individual entrepreneur is and what business idea he/she develops. In addition, they are key factors contributing not only to the immigrant venture occurrence, but also to the success of the business.

A considerable amount of research has concentrated on the modes of transportation. Research has tended to focus on the growth and trends of the different modes of transportation on the national scale. Very little research has been undertaken into each region, and even less on those factors that prevent or act as barriers for transportation of goods in each region. Furthermore, very little research has been undertaken that examines the bottlenecks of the transportation flows in Jönköping. By interviewing the main actors in the region, this thesis identifies the main product flow in the Jönköping County. The study also examines the perceived bottlenecks to transportation of goods that logistics companies face. In conducting the study, the main impediments to transportation flows were identified, analysed and ranked. The findings indicate that there are many common bottlenecks between firms in Jönköping. The study also, to an extent, supports findings that have been made in studies carried out previously by other researchers.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not a new issue however it has recently started to get more attention. Mostly research has been conducted within the larger companies in many different aspects such as benefits with CSR, its financial impact and the implementation process. Since this is a matter that becomes more and more important in the society of today we wanted to focus our study on small and medium sized enterprises to see how they can take part in the CSR implementation too. Firstly we wanted to examine the small and medium sized companies (SMEs) within the Jönköping region however due to the special conditions of the companies in this region we decided to conduct a case study instead. The case study is conducted with the managing director of Ekenäs Mekaniska AB, the primary information were collected through two face to face interviews. The material was then compiled and analysed. We provide some practical solution to the problems existing within Ekenäs Mekaniska AB and suggest a model for Ekenäs Mekaniska AB as well as for other companies. The purpose of conducting this case study is to make it easier for Ekenäs Mekaniska to implement more CSR in the future as well as it is to serve as an example for other small sized firms that it is possible to still conduct CSR even though you are limited in resources. We also aim at providing a step by step guide on how to implement CSR efficiently that can be used for both small, medium sized companies and large companies however each step needs to be undertaken with the size of the company in mind. The final conclusion of this case study is that the most important stakeholder of Ekenäs Mekaniska AB when implementing CSR is the employees. A clear goal, vision and mission from the top managers are crucial for Ekenäs Mekaniska AB to implement CSR efficiently. The communication with the important internal and external stakeholders and the feedback collected from them are also very important to ensure that everyone in the organization is doing the right things. The employees need to be guided through a systematic guide book to ensure that the current or potential CSR activities satisfy their needs. The strategy of Ekenäs Mekaniska AB should well combine with their CSR agenda by us-ing the model introduced in the thesis. Due to limited financial resource, it is hard for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to implement the whole CSR activities within the organization, therefore, the local government should provide appropriate fund or tax reduction programs to help SMEs implement CSR efficiently.

‟Recession‟ and ‟Layoff‟ were the buzz words of late 2008. Economic slowdown and recession have hit the economy hard. At the same time people in society are getting older and the demographic profile of the population is getting increasingly top heavy, with the retirements of the 1940‟s baby boomers expected to peak in 2010. The implications of an increased proportion of old people in society have been debated for some time, but the issue has not become a pressing concern for firms until recently. The purpose of this study is to investigate „How does the economic slowdown and the demographic change affect the recruitment behavior of the firms in the region?, the region being defined as the County of Jönköping and County of Östergötland in southern Sweden. The study is based on an exploratory survey polling respondents about their willingness to employ, the effects that the economic slowdown and demographic change exert on them. The survey was conducted during November 2008. The descriptive and inferential quantitative statistical analysis of the empirical findings and sec-ondary sources draw on contemporary research in the areas of demographic change, economic theory and human resource management. Demographic change is of less importance with regards to firms' willingness to employ than ex-pected and is overshadowed by the lack of skilled and experienced labour, which makes finding a suitable employment not so difficult, even in these recessionary times, if you have the right education, qualification and/or experience. It is hard to give a definitive answer as to how large the effect of the economic slowdown on recruitment is, but it does indeed affect the firms' willingness to employ, and it has generally negative consequences for the overall size of the workforce. Nevertheless, there remains a need for employees fed by the inextinguishable calls for competence and experience. With regards to the general recruitment behaviour, the firms face a dilemma. The weak economic climate commands cost savings. But the widespread call for and concurrent lack of skilled and experienced labour, both in the firms and in the labour market, command resources to be committed to the search for applicants. Furthermore, coping with the challenges of an agediverse workforce will be one of the most important commissions for anyone dealing with human resource management issues in the future.

Since the introduction of shopping centers, it has become more and more common that the retail trade is taken over by the shopping centers. The shopping centers can offer the customers indoor shopping with stores, cafés and restaurants under the same roof. This comfortability is a competitive advantage for the shopping centers in comparison with other purchasing areas, such as the city core. In Jönköping on the 2nd of April 1987 A6, a large shopping centre at this time the largest in the region, had it opening with great festivities. The merchants located in the city core feared that the large shopping centre would drive them out of business. After negotiations the merchants of the city core of Jönköping, the municipality and A6 made peace. Today the two shopping areas are competing for the same customers, but are they competing on the same grounds? The city core of Jönköping is facing problems with customers leaving, but where are they going? What can be done to attract new customers and gain their old ones? In this report we will try to find out how the city cores can do to gain, maintain and satisfy the customers. This will be done by a quantitative study of the Jönköping city core and the shopping centre A6. Interviews will be done with respondents at both A6 Centre and in the City core of Jönköping. The material we will gather, will be handed over to the organization ‘På Stan’, who is an association working with issues regarding the merchants in the city. Through the interviews with the 200 respondents we accessed three main issues that have an impact on the customer’s choice of shopping location. These three are accessibility, range of stores and environment.

During July and August 2001 I carried out practical training at Store Mosse National Park. I collected dragonflies between weeks 30 and 34. All my collecting was of the adult insects - the imagines, and my aims were as follows:- to obtain a species list of dragonflies inhabiting the site.- to estimate the frequency of each species recorded. Identification was carried out in Sweden using a Swedish reference book, (Sandhall, .ke. 1987) and German references were used in the later compilation of the report. Most species recorded on Store Mosse are also found in Germany, with the exception of Coenagrion armatum. Sometimes there are different subspecies in each country, but their ecology is perhaps similar. However, differences in the annual life cycles and diurnal behaviour are possible. Store Mosse is a favourable place for Dragonflies. The moss has a varied structure, and former peat-diggings are an especially valuable habitat. The peat-diggings have water for most of the year water, but the pools of water are not big enough for some of the enemies of the dragonflies, especially fishes. It is also difficult for fish to disperse to, and survive in an acid habitat where the only input is rain water. In spite of the large number of Dragonflies, the population of each species varies in relative abundance. Some of the species are very rare while others are observed very frequently in all biotopes where dragonflies occur. Regionala inventeringsrapporter import från MDP 2015-05
