Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding rubber nanocomposites were fabricated via a simple rubber roll milling technique based on the filler distribution behavior in the immiscible natural rubber (NR) and acrylonitrile-butadiene (NBR) (50/50) blends with varying amounts of multiwall carbon nano tubes and [Fe.sub.3][O.sub.4] nanoparticles. All nanocomposites showed a co-continuous phase structure, while the distribution behavior of filler was diverse correlated with the filler content and type. The mechanical properties, electrical conductivity, and EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) of rubber composites were characterized. The maximum EMI SE of 29.4 dB at 12.4 GHz was achieved in the rubber composites loaded with 15 phr MWCNTs and 15 phr [Fe.sub.3][O.sub.4] nanoparticles. The EMI shielding mechanisms of such materials were also discussed. The observation in this work provided a possible idea to the industrial manufacture electromagnetic interference shielding rubber nanocomposites, and contributed to expanding its application fields with higher mechanical property requirements and flexibility. With the popularity of handheld devices, video stabilization is becoming increasingly important. In previous studies, many methods have been proposed to stabilize shaky videos. However, these methods fail to balance between image content integrity and stability. Some methods sacrifice image content for better stability. Other methods ignore the subtle jitters, which leads to poor stability. This work innovatively proposes a video stabilization method based on decomposed motion compensation. First, a grid‐based motion statistics method is adopted for motion estimation, which obtains more accurate motion vectors according to matched likelihood estimates. Then, the motion compensation is inherently decomposed into two parts: linear motion compensation and auxiliary motion compensation. Linear motion compensation removes complex jitter by constructing linear path constraints to obtain a more stable camera path. Auxiliary motion compensation uses a moving average filter to remove the high‐frequency jitter as a supplement and preserve more image content. The two components are combined with individual weights to derive the final transform matrix and warp the original frames. Experimental results show that our method outperforms the previous methods on NUS and DeepStab datasets qualitatively and quantitatively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Video stabilization is an important video enhancement technique that removes shaky motion and produces stable videos with good visual quality. Previous feature point matching methods are proposed to estimate motion information. However, video stabilization based on feature points matching will decrease or fail to match feature for video sequences lacking feature point, which causes poor results. Also, there is not a recognized method to measure the performance of video stabilization. To solve these problems, we propose an adaptive video stabilization based on feature point detection and full-reference stability assessment. In the proposed method, appropriate video stabilization algorithms are firstly selected by detecting the number of feature points and camera trajectory optimization is used to retain original motion information. Secondly, we propose a full-reference stability assessment to measure video stabilization performance. Furthermore, video stabilization is assessed from three aspects on the video dataset DeepStab. Finally, experimental results demonstrate the promising performance of our proposed algorithm in terms of subjective and objective evaluations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Hepatitis-hydropericardium syndrome (HHS), caused by fowl adenovirus serotype 4 (FAdV-4), has been widely spread across China, resulting in great financial losses in the poultry industry. Therefore, efficient vaccines against this disease urgently need to be developed. In our study, the fiber-2 and penton base proteins derived from the FAdV-4 JS strain were expressed in a prokaryotic system (E. coli) in a soluble form. Then, the efficacy of the two recombinant proteins formulated with cheap and widely used adjuvants (Marcol™ 52 white oil) were respectively tested, and the minimum immune doses and safety of the above proteins were also determined. It was indicated that the fiber-2 (20 µg/bird, 200 µg/bird) and penton base (200 µg/bird) could provide complete protection against the highly pathogenic FAdV-4 and suppress its replication and shedding. Unfortunately, only the fiber-2 protein could induce complete protection (10/10) at a low dose (10 µg/bird). In addition, we confirmed that the fiber-2 subunit vaccine formulated with oil adjuvants was safe for vaccinated chickens. Conclusively, all of our results suggest that we successfully prepared an efficient and cheap fiber-2 subunit vaccine with few side effects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Deep-sea hydrothermal vents have been extensively explored around the globe in the past decades, and the diversity of microbial communities and their ecological functions related to hydrothermal vents have become hotspots in the study of microbial biogeochemistry. However, knowledge of dominant microbial communities and their unique metabolic characteristics adapting to hydrothermal vents is still limited. In our study, the sediment sample near the Tangyin hydrothermal vent in the southern part of the Okinawa Trough was collected, and the most abundant phyla are Proteobacteria and Desulfobacterota based on the 16S rRNA genes and metagenome sequencing. Metagenomic analysis revealed that methane metabolism, sulfur reduction, and Fe2+ uptake were abundantly distributed in hydrothermal sediment. In addition, most of the metagenomic assembly genomes (MAGs), belonging to Chloroflexota, Desulfobacterota, and Gammaproteobacteria, were found to be involved in methanogenesis, sulfur oxidation/reduction, and ferrous/ferric iron metabolisms. Among these MAGs, the two representative groups (Bathyarchaeia and Thioglobaceae) also showed distinct metabolic characteristics related to carbon, sulfur, and iron to adapt to hydrothermal environments. Our results reveal the dominant microbial populations and their metabolic features in the sediment near the Tangyin hydrothermal fields, providing a better understanding of microbial survival strategies in the extreme environment.
