This paper examines the potential of piezoelectric substances in presenting sustainable and renewable energy solutions, that specialize in energy harvesting and self-maintaining smart sensing mechanisms inside numerous systems. Highlighting the inefficacy of conventional construction substances like simple cement paste in energy capture, this study delves into current methodologies that expand the piezoelectric abilities of cement-based composites through innovative admixtures and physical treatments. Additionally, the research explores the broader utilization of piezoelectric materials across various sectors together with healthcare, environmental tracking, and consumer electronics, propelled by using the need for wireless sensing nodes and embedded microsystems to have a reliable power source. Emphasizing the environmental advantages, this paper affords a comparative analysis of cutting-edge developments, challenges, and future possibilities within the area of piezoelectric power harvesting (PEH), which include the exploration of lead-free substances and the advancement in hybrid energy harvesting devices.

This paper is a natural continuation of previous research on the implementation of confidentiality in small, medium, and virtual enterprises. This research began in 2009, with the work "Xml Based Techniques for Data Privacy in E-Business" which revealed that for small, medium, and virtual enterprises that often represent start-ups, trust is a basic element. Thus, in 2010, we published the paper "Control access to information by applying policies based on trust hierarchies". Present work shows a method of modeling the hierarchies of trust in computer systems. After a review of previous research and the presentation of the necessary conditions for accessing and applying actions on an object, published in "Data security management applying trust policies for small organizations, ad hoc organizations and virtual organizations" in 2012, this paper presents the four necessary steps, from the analysis of the manual system necessary to be automated to the determination of the access policies of the users. • Stage 1 - analysis of the existing situation - refers to the identification of actors, and actions that apply to an object. • Stage 2 - creating the computer system and optimizing the flow - presents the new, optimized system that will be implemented. • Stage 3 - dealing with exceptions - separation of duty - presents various situations that may arise during the operation of the computer system and how they should be treated. • Stage 4 - creation of the hierarchy of actions attached to the document, a model of the hierarchy of actions is presented, which will be attached to the document and can lead to the creation of access policies.

Research background: Since the announcement by entrepreneur Elon Musk in the year 2021 about the inclusion of Bitcoin on the balance sheet of his automotive company Tesla, the economic significance of cryptocurrencies for the financial industry is taking on progressive importance. In addition to the financial economic consideration of cryptocurrencies, the underlying blockchain technology is undergoing a disruptive growth across industries – e.g. from automotive to real estate. Accordingly, in the report ‘Deep Shift Technology Tipping Points and Societal Impact’, the World Economic Forum predicted a far-reaching significance of the blockchain technology as early as 2015, and in 2020, the Global Future Council published a finding that the crypto market has reached a point of inevitability. Purpose of the article: The aim of this paper is to examine the degree of integration of the blockchain technology within the framework of a current market investigation using the real estate industry as an example. The leading application areas of the blockchain technology in the real estate industry will be presented. Methods: The market investigation of this paper is based, among other things, on a cluster analysis that examines a regional differentiation of the application areas on a global level. Findings & Value added: In this context, the market research indicates that the blockchain technology can be applied significantly in the real estate industry and that the Global Future Council finding can be replicated in many areas.

Based on a survey conducted in different bases of academic data such as journal articles, undergraduate final papers, theses, and dissertations, this paper presents a critical analysis of different fields of knowledge in the scientific production on Somatic Education, aiming to support future work. The research was quantitative and documentary and it had aspriority sources CAPES site and the Brazilian National Library of Dissertations and Theses (BDTD) site. It was concluded that Somatic Education is multidisciplinary and it has the largest academic representation in the field of Arts, followed by the Health sector, possibly reflecting its origins and applications.

Abstract: The large ring cyclodextrins (with more than 8 glucose units) existence was first described in the 1950s. Because of their hard purification and low yield, these molecules were little studied until recently. Since large ring cyclodextrins have unique structures compared to α-, β- and γ-cyclodextrin, they could offer new opportunities for specific host-guest complex and thus enlarge the area of cyclodextrin applications. This paper gives a literature survey regarding the synthesis, the purification and the applications of cyclodextrins containing more than eight glucose units. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Biopolymers have been investigated for drug fields. They are widely being studied because of their non-toxic and biocompatible in nature. Biopolymers are used in industries as diverse as paper, plastics, food, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.This review covers different natural polymers, recent techniques applied in their processing and characterization. Advanced applications of natural polymers, including chitin, chitosan, alginate, etc., are discussed.

In the paper we give a mathematical overview of the CreditRisk+ model as a tool used for calculating credit risk in a portfolio of debts and suggest some other applications of the same method of analysis.

Rapid advances in construction materials technology have led to the emergence of new materials with special properties, aiming at safety, economy and functionality of bridges structures. A class of structural materials which was originally developed many years ago, but recently caught the attention of engineers involved in the construction of bridges is fiber reinforced polymer composites. This paper provides an overview of fiber reinforced polymer composites used in bridge structures including types, properties, applications and future trends. The results of this study have revealed that this class of materials presents outstanding properties such as high specific strength, high fatigue and environmental resistance, lightweight, stiffness, magnetic transparency, highly cost-effective, and quick assembly, but in the same time high initial costs, lack of data on long-term field performance, low fire resistance. Fiber reinforced polymer composites were widely used in construction of different bridge structures such as: deck and tower, I-beams, tendons, cable stands and proved to be materials for future in this field.

Castor and its derived oil, the so-called ‘‘castor oil’’, are known from the ancient times, when the oil was used for cosmectics, or as a laxative, or as a fuel in lamps. Nowadays, castor oil has a completely renewed interest, not for its direct applications, but thanks to various possibilities in downstream processing, which involves chemical modifications & reactions. Indeed, castor oil has this specifiticy of a remarkable uniformity, with about 90% of the fatty acid chains of the triglyceride composed of ricinoleic acid, a natural fatty acid behaving a hydroxyle group, which is a unique feature in vegetal oils. Then, it is possible to envision reactions either on the ester group, on the double bond or even on the hydroxyle moety to yield a variety of chemicals. In this paper, after a short description of the castor plant, we give statistics on the production of castor grains and an overview on the oil extraction process. Then, we report the market prices before listing the main properties of castor oil. These latter are quite specific and explain the large variety of possible direct applications. At last, the possible chemical transformations are listed, before giving two practical cases, as actual industrialisation success stories.
