This article includes and analyzes the events that occurred during the period 2011-2021 in relation to the socioenvironmental problems associated with mining in the Complejo Cruz Verde-Sumapaz Páramo (cpcvs) with the objective of identifying those actors who have a role in the problems, decision, and institutional-normative advances that have an impact on the environmental legal system. This research was carried out with a descriptive qualitative approach based on the methodology for community management of environmental conflicts. It provides a biogeographical characterization of the main socio-environmental elements and a precision of the temporality of the most relevant facts. As a result, three scenarios of debate are defined: ambiguity in the dispositions, normative outdatedness and applicability exceptions, concluding that these factors allowed the exploitation in the páramo, generating a significant conflict in the environmental legal system. The objective is to analyze solid waste management in municipal management from a systemic review. The methodology was congruent with the quantitative, exploratorybibliometric approach. The studies reviewed aim to diagnose and evaluate the impact of solid waste generated by various cities and economic sectors on the environment, ecotourism activities, public health; also in this process it is possible to identify the most common domestic waste and determine the properties of materials in landfills and industrial waste deposits. The article focuses on the environmental conflict on the coasts of the department of Colonia in Uruguay. It highlights the privatization of beaches and the restriction of access as a long-standing problem in the country, aggravated by the demand for land by foreign capital and real estate speculation. The residents of Colonia have taken political, legal, and media measures to address issues such as the placement of fences, the opening of streets, and the approval of subdivisions in public spaces. This article analyzes environmental policies in Uruguay over the past 30 years, highlighting the creation of an explicit environmental policy in 1990 and the subsequent creation of the Ministry of Environment in 2020. It focuses on the relationship between public policies, the environment, and production from the perspective of sustainable intensification. It also mentions environmental policies in Uruguay, such as Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and area-based conservation. The article also addresses the need to regulate water resource management in Uruguay, especially in relation to irrigation, and highlights the importance of integrated natural resource management. The research tries to evaluate the current management of hospital solid waste in the Jerusalem Clinic in the city of Riobamba. The studied a descriptive- quantitative -- prospective -- quantitative type, surveys and direct participatory observation were carried out, data collection instruments; with several people who make up the clinic. It was found that 40% of the workers in the clinic do not have correct knowledge of waste management distribution, in addition to poor management of current environmental legislation. The final evaluation results in a partial compliance of 73,25%, were the evaluation, registration and training system must be complied with as indicated in the manual of the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador; without adequate knowledge of waste management endangers personal safety, patients, doctors, visitors and the environment. The state of the art of the legal framework for the protection of wetlands against climate change was constructed based on a bibliometric and network analysis using the Scopus® database as an instrument for the search of scientific documents. The most important subject areas come from environmental science. The most relevant research trends in this review regarding climate change were: a) the importance of wetlands and their impact; b) the environmental protection and conservation of wetlands and their effects on biodiversity; c) environmental management policies (restoration, conservation, protection of wetlands) and sustainable development. Other important aspects were identified, such as regional trends and territorial planning, carbon management, methane production, landscape indicators and effective participation as elements for environmental policies for the management, restoration, protection and conservation of these ecosystems. In recent decades, companies in the clothing industry have adopted principles and criteria of environmental and social sustainability. The most innovative companies form a business hub called green fashion, sustainable fashion, eco-fashion, bio-fashion, ethical fashion, environmental fashion, ecological clothing or "slow fashion". So, is this a passing trend or a structural change? Using the hypothetico-deductive method, bibliographic and statistical analyses and studies of published cases, this study investigates the environmental behavior of the main social sectors or stakeholders involved in the operation of the fashion industry. The results reveal that the change toward the greening of the clothing industry is in fact structural and is led by the most advanced countries. Contributions to this structural change come from public administrations via environmental, commercial and consumer legislation, from international NGOs by means of alert campaigns that raise consumers' environmental awareness, from researchers identifying chemical risks, and from designers and companies using ecologically friendly materials in fabrics and incorporating ethical practices in manufacturing processes. This article evidences that local productive system in Atlantic/Caribbean region in Costa Rica, based on banana and pineapple plantations for export, is responsible of severe damage to nature and could not resolve social problems like poverty. This conclusion is based on analysis of numerous scientific and technical literatures about environmental and social effects of productive activities in Atlantic/Caribbean region, between 1990 and 2015. The Ecuadorian legislation on environmental issues was dispersed during decades, with few efforts to codify it. Since the Environmental Organic Code entered into effect, Ecuador has a specific and updated norm which is in coherence with the constitutional dispositions, that tend to guarantee a healthy environment and the protection of the rights of the nature. The paper analyzes national and international literature related to the structure of the new Code, and makes a critical study of each chapter of this new law. The results of the analysis show some wise choices made by the Ecuadorian legislator who provided an updated instrument that contains the Ecuadorian paradigm of a new model of development, well-being or “Sumak kawsay”; on the other hand, there is still evidence of a centralized model dependent on the National Environmental Authority linked directly to the President, also there is a lack of development of the concept of the rights of the nature, which means that the legislator lost a unique opportunity, as the Constitution established that the Environmental Organic Code was supposed to be the adequate form to develop this concept. The innovation of this analysis is that this is the first time a legal study of the Ecuadorian Environmental Code is done; moreover, it opens diverse lines to debate about the implementation, possible reforms and opportunities that this law could bring to the conservation of the environment in a megadiverse country like Ecuador. Introduction: Currently, financial accounting in business organizations has been influenced by the presence of environmental management, in virtue of which companies focus their attention on making accounting records that allow the measurement and valuation of operations concerning the ecosystem, obtaining their accounting in accordance with the rules and regulations established for that purpose. Objective: Analyze international accounting standards in light of the requirements for their application in environmental management. Materials and methods: The methodological resource used is the quantitative and positivist field research, applying a structured, selfadministered questionnaire, formalized and standardized with a Likert scale, to 7 public accountants and 7 managers of Environmental Management who work in extractive non-metallic mineral companies; with permission from the Ministry of Popular Power for the Environment in the Andean region of the Trujillo State of Venezuela. Results: It was identified that the analyzed companies are governed by the provisions of the FCCPV, in relation to the General Accounting Principles. It was also detected that these organizations do not observe the International Accounting Standards, and it can also be inferred that the majority of these companies adhere to the provisions of the LOA. Conclusion: Although there are regulations of the Venezuelan State and for the accounting profession in environmental matters in particular, certain weaknesses are evidenced in its financial statements regarding the treatment of environmental impact events caused by economic activity, which limits the profession's responsibility towards the environment. The transformations undergone by society and the impact of human activities on the environment and natural resources has generated the need to issue new environmental standards leading to the emergence of environmental law. This new branch of law regulates the relationships between society and the environment that breaks the traditional paradigm of regulation of social relationships. Moreover, environmental standards feed on science and technology leading to the fact that the technical knowledge is determining what is considers law. This is coupled with the precautionary principle that aims to rise as a legal principle but being in fact a policy statement and especially seeking to turn scientific doubt into law. The Law is confronted not only with the complexity of modern society, technological developments and environmental crisis, but also with its very essence. This paper emphasizes the importance of presenting environmental education plans and programs with special emphasis on the component of sustainable development. It is based on an analysis of international and national perspectives that have favored the enactment of useful legislative frameworks for the design of educational programs. The second part of the work presents an advance of the conclusions of an education project for environmental sustainability referred to the creation of habits of selective collection of plastic containers, designed by a higher education institution and a company in the recycling sector. This study was performed in Parque Historico Guayaquil (PHG), to diagnose waste management practices undertaken in said establishment. It was accomplished through the characterization of waste generation, verification of its management according to environmental regulations, and by recommending alternatives for its optimum management. Qualitative and quantitative methods with a descriptive scope were used during research. Information was gathered through visits and interviews with key individuals. Measurements were taken during eight weeks and identification was performed through a one-time sampling following national and international guidelines. Non-hazardous wastes reported an average of 452 kg and showed a direct relation between generation and the number of visitors. The onetime samplings for hazardous and special waste ware reported at 7.5 kg and 20 kg respectively. Characterization by category corresponded to 5% to hazardous waste, 12% special waste and 83% non-hazardous waste. This last result yielded in 45% of organic, 27% recyclables and 11% non-recyclables. The evaluation of environmental regulations revealed 36% compliance; therefore, PHG should consider resuming and implementing procedures that trigger comprehensive waste management as well as obtaining environmental permits. Waste generation's impacts should focus not only in quantity but also in type and management practices. Drawing upon the four categories that regulate property, access and appropriation of economic goods (i.e., private, public, open access, and common), this paper aims to analyze how the approval of a law that fosters the conservation of native forests a) promotes the enclosure of common goods, and b) causes different impacts among social actors. By using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies and combining different information sources (interviews to different social actors, mass media, and government documents), we analyzed the socioeconomic impacts of the Law for the Protection of Native Forests, in the Province of Córdoba (Argentina). The results suggest that the new law prioritize the concept of private property over customary norms, local arrangements, and flexible access to ecosystem services which are major features of the social and productive approach followed by subsistence farmers. Capitalized farmers, holding higher economic and political power, have access to different mechanisms allowing them to lessen the new-laws restrictive effects, and have better chances to receive monetary compensations from the Estate for payments for ecosystem services. Thus, new social conditions emerge, which translate into economic asymmetries and processes of social exclusion among different kinds of farmers settled in the same territory. Those who hold lower political and economic power are the most vulnerable ones (i.e., subsistence farmers) and therefore are the most negatively impacted by the new scenario. In a globalized world dominated by an economy market that prioritizes short-term profits, native ecosystems face growing extractivist pressures, which is generating high social and environmental consequences. The State has the responsibility to protect these threatened ecosystems and to guarantee social wellbeing. But all new environmental legislation must also consider its possible socioeconomic impacts. The Decree on Climate 2019 focuses on reforestation campaigns and silviculture actions applied to existing forests of Italian metropolitan cities, incurring a total expenditure of €30 million in the next two years. By supporting urban and peri-urban forestry programmes, the decree represents an innovative scheme within the framework of environmental legislation on climate actions. The decision appears strategic as it depicts new scenarios for the cities of tomorrow involving sequence design, implementation and management of urban forests as key components to challenge climate change effects on the urban environment. Italian research in the field of urban forestry and related issues is well prepared to tackle the challenge thanks to 25 years of experience in "planting, growing, and caring for" ideas, knowledge, and methods applied to the ecology and functioning of urban and peri-urban forests. This wealth of experience is at the service of the community and of stakeholders who will be directly or indirectly involved in the implementation of the Decree on Climate 2019. This paper is an analysis based on bibliography and empirical knowledge that trait to provide an overview of the Brazilian National Solid Waste Policy Bill text. The law was intended to sets principles, procedures and regulations to manage this type of residual materials, since the previous standards were rather poor, heterogeneous and full of regional contrasts due to the federal political and administrative structure of the country. Under such circumstances, the principal objectives of municipal, state and federal legal regulations were a lot different from each other. Besides, in the absence of a general framework, areas and territories of the country acted individually and generated their own body of principles. In this context, the Brazilian National Solid Waste Policy Bill languished in the Congress for almost 21 years, till to august 2010 was approved, and its submission was a time-consuming process that helped only to show that many complex and bureaucratic barriers needed to be removed in a country with special social, political and institutional features such as Brazil. Methodologically, the paper analyzes the previous disperse legislation and examines the new legislation on solid waste management, making further projections about the challenges derived from the enforcing process of this new law. Es en los últimos años ha surgido con mayor interés la atención hacia la problemática ambiental a nivel internacional, gubernamental y empresarial, sumando ahora el componente de la Responsabilidad Social Corporativa (RSC). Los tratados, acuerdos y encuentros internacionales, fueron el punto de partida para que los gobiernos nacionales adquirieran el compromiso de generar sus propias políticas. En México se instrumenta una política ambiental a partir de los años setenta, pero desde los años veinte, ya existían leyes indirectamente vinculadas con los temas ambientales. The current situation of the Costa Rican coastal has been turned into the launching theme, not only of this article, but also of a latent concern, for the protection of the Costa Rican coast environment, which has been in the latest decades the scene of the changes in the style of development of these regions, due to the tourist activities. Before the onslaughts of the pollution and environmental degradation caused by this activity, the Government, at local and central level, through the valid legislation, and the governmental politics, shows samples of inability for the appropriate environmental protection, where the defense of the natural resources competes with the profitable economy.
