Background: In this study, it was aimed to determine the stigmatising attitudes, beliefs and behaviours of women and men living in Şanlıurfa province towards abortion. Materials and Methods: The population of this cross-sectional study consisted of men and women between the ages of 18-65. The sample size was calculated as 292 according to the values obtained from the pilot study. The data of the study were collected by face-to-face interview technique between July and August 2023 by using Personal Information Form and Stigmatising Attitudes, Beliefs and Behaviours Scale towards Abortion. In the evaluation of the data, percentage, mean, standard deviation from descriptive statistics; Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis One-Way Anova and Spearman's Correlation analysis from univariate analysis; Logistic Regression analysis from multivariate analysis were used. Results: In the study, the mean score of the Scale of Stigmatising Attitudes, Beliefs and Behaviours Towards Abortion was 41.39±17.28. In univariate analyses, it was found that the scale score was significantly higher in males, married people, unemployed people, people with poor economic status, Arabic language speakers, people with primary education level and below, and there was a low level positive correlation between age and number of living children and the scale score (p<0.05). In the Logistic Regression analysis, it was determined that the scale score was significantly higher in males, those with poor economic status, those with an educational level of primary education and below, and those with three or more living children (p<0.05). Conclusions: In this study, it was determined that women and men living in Şanlıurfa province had moderate stigmatising attitudes, beliefs and behaviours towards abortion; and gender, education level, economic status and number of living children significantly affected attitudes, beliefs and behaviours. HEALTH attitudes , *CONSPIRACY theories , *EXPLORATORY factor analysis , *CONFIRMATORY factor analysis , *VACCINES , *NATURAL immunity , *HERD immunity - Abstract
The aim of the study is to determine the effect of individuals' vaccine conspiracy beliefs on their attitudes towards vaccines and to reveal the differences between the demographic characteristics of the participants and the variables. In the study, an online questionnaire consisting of Demographic Information Form, Vaccine Conspiracy Beliefs Scale and Attitudes Towards Vaccine Scale was used as data collection tool. Descriptive statistical methods, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis and difference analysis were used in data analysis. It was determined that the vaccine conspiracy beliefs had a negative effect on the positive vaccination attitude and a positive effect on the negative vaccination attitude. In addition, statistically significant differences were found between the gender of the individuals and positive vaccination attitude, negative vaccination attitude. And that between B1 (I am not favorable to vaccines because they are unsafe.), B2 (There is no need to vaccinate because natural immunity exists.) and positive vaccine attitude, negative vaccine attitude and vaccine conspiracy belief. The conspiracy theories about Covid-19 vaccines and the lack of faith or distrust in science negatively affect the positive attitude towards the vaccine, leading to a delay or decrease in the acquisition of herd immunity. Therefore, the security concerns of individuals should be eliminated, misinformation and conspiracy theories should be disproved, and the intention of individuals to be vaccinated against Covid-19 should be increased. Objective: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is a global health emergency. Physicians are at high risk for COVID-19 due to their occupational exposure to infected patients. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the opinions of physicians, who are at the forefront of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, on prophylaxis and probable vaccination for SARS-CoV-2 infection through a questionnaire. Methods: Between 25 July and 8 August 2020, survey questions were sent to message groups with physicians via messaging programs developed for smartphones. Two hundred eleven physicians with different titles and working conditions who answered all of the questionnaire questions were included to the study. Results: The average age of the physicians participating in the survey was 39.3 ± 6.7. 186 (88.2%) of the physicians stated that there wasn't an effective prophylaxis against COVID-19 and 190 (90%) stated that they did not receive a prophylactic treatment. Nineteen (90.4%) of the physicians who received prophylactic treatment stated that they used hydroxychloroquine. Although the number of physicians who had been vaccinated against seasonal influenza vaccine was 37 (17.5%), 167 (79.1%) physicians stated that if a COVID-19 vaccine with similar effectiveness to the influenza vaccine existed; they would be vaccinated. Conclusions: The desire to administer COVID-19 vaccine among physicians is higher than seasonal influenza vaccination rates. Policies to increase vaccination rates should be followed in order to terminate the COVID-19 outbreak and prevent influenza co-infections. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

INTRODUCTION: Human milk banking is becoming widespread in many countries. In Turkey is a controversial topic with reasons, such as traditional and religious beliefs. The aim of this study was to investigate the knowledge and opinions of mothers on donor milk and milk banking. METHOD: This study was cross-sectional, descriptive and comparative. In the study between 1th of October-30th of December 2018, a total of 252 mothers who applied to the gynecology outpatient clinics of a state hospital volunteered to participate. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews. IBM SPSS Statistics 21 package program was used to evaluate the data. Ethical Committee and related consents were taken. RESULTS: The mean age of the mothers participating in the study was 33 ± 7,233 years and 47,6% had heard of the human milk bank before. 49,2% of the participants stated that they could advise other mothers to buy milk from the milk bank. However, 43,7% reported that they did not want to buy milk from their milk bank for their baby when they needed it. The mothers indicated that 67,9% of them were concerned about transmission of the disease as the reason for not wanting to benefit from the milk bank. 66,3% think that the milk banks would make sense if the family that gave milk and the milk was registered and recognized each other. DISCUSSION and CONCLUSION: The results of the study show similarities with our research, but the majority of mothers' lack of knowledge about donor milk and milk banks is more than the importance of religious and cultural beliefs.
