This paper compares two methods for controlling the on-line transference from connected to stand-alone mode and vice versa in converters for micro-grids. The first proposes a method where the converter changes from CSI (Current Source Inverter) in grid-connected mode to VSI (Voltage Source Inverter) in off-grid. In the second method, the inverter always works as a non-ideal voltage source, acting as VSI, using AC droop control strategy.

ALBA is a 3 GeV third generation synchrotron light source under construction in Spain. The injection system is composed of a 100 MeV Linac as pre-injector followed by a full energy booster synchrotron. The booster requires AC power converters operating at 3.125 Hz with a sinusoidal current waveform. All converters are switched mode with full digital regulation and a common control interface. Premi al millor Projecte de Fi de Carrera presentat durant el curs 2003-2004 en l'àmbit d'Electricitat-Electrònica-Automàtica que atorga SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC En este proyecto se ha diseñado y montado el control completo de un motor brushless senoidal con un DSP (Digital Signal Processor). En el DSP no se solo se ha programado el control propiamente dicho, sino también un algoritmo para adquirir la posición del motor con más resolución de la que nos permite el algoritmo tradicional (basado en undersampling); esta técnica es el sobremuestreo (oversampling en inglés). El control que se ha diseñado sirve como base para algoritmos superiores que también se pueden integrar en el DSP y por tanto pueden aprovechar la potencia de cálculo del mismo. Con esto se puede lograr algoritmos que realicen funciones relativamente complejas con motores, gracias a la gran flexibilidad de programación que ofrece el DSP. Este DSP controla un puente ondulador trifásico de hasta 100A, con el que es posible controlar casi todo el rango de motores brushless comerciales. Por otro lado, con el mismo equipo y programa, también es posible controlar motores síncronos, siempre que lleven un resolver. Para realizar este control se ha diseñado y construido una placa de control que integra el DSP y otros elementos auxiliares. Por otra parte, también se han construido y montado placas auxiliares para el funcionamiento de todo el conjunto (fuente de alimentación, filtro, sondas,...). Award-winning

A total of 122 power converters are required: 1 for the dipoles (all connected in series), 112 for the quadrupoles (each magnets with its own power supply) and 9 for the sextupoles (each family connected in series). All converters are switched mode with full digital regulation and a common control interface. Se ha desarrollado una plataforma que tiene por objetivo ensayar los onduladores solares, comprobando su funcionamiento y su rendimiento, pudiendo emular cualquier punto de funcionamiento de una curva V-I de un panel fotovoltaico. Este emulador fotovoltaico se implementa a partir de una fuente conmutada que es controlada por un microprocesador programado mediante Matlab/Simulink.

A novel strategy for continuous execution of the MPPT algorithm for a microgrid distributed energy resource inverter is proposed. The exposed control strategy allows to operate a photovoltaic inverter in both grid-connected and grid-disconnected modes also considering local loads.
