Ixeris dentata (Thunb. ex Thunb.) Nakai (family Asteraceae) a plant widely distributed in Viet Nam, is a perennial herb that grows to a height of 0.5 m. It has been used as a medicinal herb medicine since ancient times for the treatment of calculi, dyspepsia, indigestion, pneumonia, hepatitis, contusion, and tumors in Northeast Asia. The biological activities of this plant have been shown to be neuroprotective, anti-mutagenic, anti-hyperlipidemic, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and anti-proliferative activities. It is also composed of aliphatics, triterpenoids, sesquiterpene, and glycosides. However, research on the phytochemistry of this plant has yet to be conducted in Viet Nam. In this study, five phenolics including chlorogenic acid (1), 3,5-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid (2), 4,5-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid (3), citrusin C (4), 4-allyl-2,6-dimethoxyphenol O-β-D-glupyranoside (5), and two sesquiterpene lactones, 8-epidesacylcynaropicrin glucoside (6) and ixerisoside A (7) were isolated from the methanol extract of the leaves of Ixeris dentata using combined chromatographic methods. Their chemical structures were determined by analysis of MS, NMR spectra data as well as comparison with those reported in the literature.

Non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants are used more and more popularly because they are more effective than vitamin K antagonists. Dabigatran is the only non–vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulant with an antidote, idarucizumab, in Vietnam. The rate of ischemic stroke while using Dabigatran annually is very rare, only 1.75%. We present the first clinical case in Vietnam using Dabigatran with acute ischemic stroke; patient is a 58 years old female, with history of atrial fibrillation, pacemaker, hypertension, old ischemic stroke, using Dabigatran 150mg, 2 tablets/day. The patient was admitted to the Bach Mai Hospital because of weakness on the right side of the body at the 3rd hour, NIHSS of 10 points, CT scans confirmed acute ischemic stroke due to occlusion of the left M3 segment, the last dose of dabigatran was taken 6 hours prior. The patient was given 2 jars of idarucizumab 2.5g, then rt-PA at a dose of 0.6 mg/kg. The patient improved, the NIHSS score was 3 points, and there was no bleeding in the control CT scan. The patient was discharged after 4 days of treatment, with an mRS score of 1.

The Red River Delta (RRD) is the second largest delta in Vietnam and is a significant economic zone in the country, encompassing important cities and economic zones. Geologically, the delta consists of clay layers distributed all over its area, which strongly impact the foundation designs of the infrastructure system (e.g., highways, industrial parks, harbors). However, up to date, there were no comprehensive studies on the compressibility characteristics of the clays in the delta. This study presents a primary study on some compressibility characteristics of clays in the whole delta with an emphasis on the use of CPTu data in the interpretation. For this, high-quality field and laboratory test results obtained from four research test sites and eight project sites were analyzed to depict the characteristics. The results indicate that the clays in the delta are typically soft to medium stiff and normally consolidated to slightly overconsolidated, which represent typical characteristics of young Holocene deposits. The compression index (Cc) of the clays was found to have good correlations with natural water content (Wn) or in-situ void ratio (e0). The ratio of radial coefficient of consolidation from a consolidation test with a central drain (CD) to the vertical coefficient of consolidation from the standard consolidation test (i.e., cr,CD/cv) from the 4 research test sites is on average 2.76 (log t method) and 2.32 (root t method) and these average ratios are found typical for deltaic soil deposits. The correlations for the remolded samples indicate that the drainage type has a strong influence to the induced coefficients of homogeneously remolded soils. Results from this study help geotechnical engineers have a general view on the compressibility characteristics of the clays in the delta, which in turn helps secure optimal foundation design solutions.

Polygonatum punctatum Royle ex Kunth is a high-value medicinal plant found in old natural forests. A phytochemical study on the roots of this plant led to the isolation of seven new steroidal saponins including four furostans (1-4) and three furospirostans (5-7). The trend for treatment of solid domestic waste by the domestic waste incinerator system is necessary to minimize the negative impacts of solid waste on the environment and human health. The survey and analysis results show that the organic waste composition ranges from 52.23% to52.8%. Benzene concentration ranges from 0.55 to 23.19 μg/m3. Toluene concentrations ranged from16.29 μg/m3 to 120.19 μg/m3. Concentration (o,m,p)-Xylene ranges from 5.81 μg/m3 to 14.73 μg/m3. Ethyl Benzene concentrations ranged from 1.32 μg/m3 to 8.63 μg/m3. According to the risk assessment results, the exhaust gas from the incinerator has caused secondary environmental pollution, affecting the health of the workers operating the solid domestic waste incinerator. Onthat basis, the article recommends applying a number of management measures to minimize the negative impacts from the operation of the solid waste incinerator to the environment and the health of the workers operating the incinerator

Traditional teaching, in which teachers and students need to meet face to face, have been widely applied for centuries. In the traditional classroom, the teacher plays the primary function, trying to provide students with knowledge. However, the needs for distance learning has provoked ways to provide remote learners with desired knowledge and skills. Assisted by technology, online classes have been pervasively pervasively offered, especially in higher education Students can enroll in online courses, saving time for travel and other difficulties. While online learning is computer-based, traditional teaching and learning involves in-person meetings. This chapter first critically reviews aspects and traditional and online teaching before arguing for the advantages and disadvantages of the online education mode. It then presents the employment of synchronous and asynchronous computer-mediated communication in online education. Finally, directions for the future of online teaching and learning are discussed.

In the context of the volatile market economy, especially the increasing of competition, Marketing is considered as an indispensable tool in production and business activities, along with the strong development of technological techniques, the explosion of the Internet, Digital Marketing is becoming more and more developed. Nowadays, Digital Marketing is an effective advertising channel for businesses, including the application of SEM Marketing in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Based on the analysis of 433 survey samples from SMEs in Hanoi, the research team gives an academic perspective on the factors affecting the application of SEM in SMEs in the area and propose recommendations towards improving the quality of SEM use in Hanoi in the coming time.

This study investigates the influence of heat treatment on the hardness and material structure of SKD61 steel. The study focused on the influence of quenching temperature and tempering temperature on the hardness distribution of SKD61 steel. The equations representing the relationship between hardness and tempering temperature were derived based on the results. By the results of the analysis of the material structure, the appropriate process conditions for machining molds at high temperature were determined. We concluded that the steel should be heated to 1050[Formula: see text]C. The heat was maintained for 2 h and the steel then quenched in oil media. It was further annealed at 580[Formula: see text]C, with the heat maintained for 2 h and then cooled in the same furnace. With the above heat treatment process, an average hardness of 52HRC was obtained and the structure of the steel was sufficiently stable to ensure the success of subsequent heat treatment processes.

This paper presents a model for producing nano-microparticles by ultrasound-aided electric discharge. After machining, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to check the shape and size of the nickel particles; they were found to be distributed in a few micrometers to 80 [Formula: see text]m range. The nickel particles were regular spherical shaped, and the grain sizes of the particles were different. In addition, many small particles were attached to the surface. Various methods such as inlay polishing, nitric acid etching, and direct SEM imaging were employed to determine the hollow nickel particles such as very thin particles, large thickness grains, hollow sponge-like structures, and solid particles.

In this paper, we obtain an explicit Berry-Esseen bound in the central limit theorem for nonlinear statistics with bounded differences. Some examples are provided as well.

Our study will make an examination of the relationship between official development assistance (ODA), Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and economic growth (GDP) in an emerging economy such as Vietnam. Regarding to methods, authors use statistics, quantitative combined with qualitative analysis. However, in the long run, although GDP has a vague effect on ODA, on the contrary, ODA put a big (significantly) effect on GDP, at the beginning of the fifth year, the relationship is not clear between ODA and GDP to promote itself increase or decrease. Foreign aid also affects the growth of nations (negatively) and, over periods, positively contributes to economic growth. Last but not least, it must be confirmed that ODA is an extra capital source for investment in development of socio-economic infrastructure and a catalyst for other investment sources such as FDI and investment capital private sector.

In this study, nanotube-type halloysites from weathered pegmatites were investigated to absorb Pb2+ in an aqueous solution. Also, a novel hybrid intelligent model based on the multiple layers perceptron (MLP) neural network and the Harris hawks optimization (HHO) algorithm (i.e., HHO-MLP neural network) was proposed for estimating the absorption of Pb2+ from an aqueous solution using this novel material. XRD, SEM–EDS, and TEM analysis revealed the existence of overlapping tubular halloysites in the studied sample, similar to the results of previous studies. Various conditions of contact time, solution pH, the adsorbent weight, and Pb2+ initial concentration were considered and evaluated using batch adsorption experiments with a total of 53 cases. Subsequently, an HHO-MLP neural network was developed and applied to predict Pb2+ absorption efficiency in water by the nanotube-type halloysite from weathered pegmatites. A traditional MLP neural network model (without optimized by the HHO algorithm) was also investigated to predict and compare with that of the proposed HHO-MLP neural network model. The experimental results indicated that the nanotube-type halloysite from weathered pegmatites is a potential material used in processing water and removing heavy metals, i.e., Pb2+, with a promising development. Furthermore, the obtained results of the proposed HHO-MLP neural network model showed that this model is a robust intelligent model for estimating the efficiency of the Pb2+ absorption in water using nanotube-type halloysite from weathered pegmatites (i.e., MSE = 1.647; RMSE = 1.283; R2 = 0.931). It can be applied to increase the Pb2+ absorption efficiency to eliminate Pb2+ in an aqueous solution.

M.Porter theory has mentioned competitors in a five-force model for analyzing business environment of a company.We would like to make further analysis, in this study, related to marketing strategy based on competitor risk analysis in a typical case study in Vietnam medicine sector. Base on this analysis, we aim to create a resource of competitive information for marketing strategy, that what several scientists called resource -advantage marketing strategy.In this field of marketing there are some our previous researches relating, so together with this study we could draw a theory of marketing strategy based on competitor risk analysis.Authors through this study has found out that elements of marketing including our rivals or competitors in business environment can influence market risk from a quantitative point of view in a two factors model, and this research paper estimates the impacts of not only the size of firms’ competitors, but also leverage, on the market risk of listed medicine companies in this category.Our main findings also show that risk variation (by beta var) can be reduced and minimized in case we keep the same size of rival or competitor, approximately (with equity beta var 0,09).At last, this paper illustrates findings show us that medicine sector need to reassess their business environment in case and the size of competitor smaller, and in the mean time, risk might reduce in case of smaller competitor size.Our research limitation is we need to expand research model to other industries.

The objective of this paper is to discover the evidence supporting or refuting the cost-effectiveness of Assisted Living Technology (ALT) in aging in place of older adults through a comprehensive presentation of cost studies and economic analyses. The search was conducted on two main databases for health economic valuation: The NHS economic valuation database (NHS EED) and the health economic valuation database (HEED). The study was evaluated using the protocol required by Campbell and Cochrane Economic Methods. As an aging society evolves, the need for long-term care services increases. The prevalence of chronic diseases increases in the older population; seniors may have to abandon their bative social life and need long-term care in a nursing home. Aging is a global phenomenon. Asia is aging rapidly. By 2030, the number of Asians aged 65 and over will increase from the current 300 million to 565 million. By 2050, this number will increase to 900 million, about one-sixth of the number of people in Asia. Aging trends are regional, but demographic changes are diverse. Countries such as Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and China, whose populations are steadily aging, are in extreme situations. Research has shown that ALT can reduce costs in some cases, but with little precise data and low quality. Later developments, e.g., capacity methods, should be used for further research. Qualitative research is needed to assess the cost-effectiveness of ALT before making reliable conclusions about the application.

As fast growth of Vietnam banks going with risk policies, We categorize listed banks on Vietnam stock exchange into 2 groups: Previous SOEs banks (including Vietcombank and Vietinbank) and Previous Private banks (including SHB, EIB and ACB). Authors then use combination of quantitative methods (statistics, calculation formulas) and qualitative methods including synthesis, inductive and explanatory methods. The research findings tell us that In groups of banks (SOEs previously) VCB and CTG we find out: G and Risk free rate (Rf) have higher impacts on beta CAPM, for internal factors. While In groups of joint stock banks (private banks) SHB, ACB and EIB we figure out: exchange rate and SP500 have higher impacts on beta CAPM, for external factors. Besides, this study also give out recommendations for enhancing socio-economic roles of Vietnam banks in future and give out directions or implications for socio-economic policies.

Mục đích của bài viết là nhận diện các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến kết quả sinh kế của cư dân vùng hạn mặn ở đồng bằng sông Cửu Long. Số liệu của nghiên cứu được thu thập từ 300 nông hộ ở Sóc Trăng, Kiên Giang và Trà Vinh với phương pháp chọn mẫu ngẫu nhiên, mỗi tỉnh lựa chọn 02 huyện và mỗi huyện lựa chọn 01 xã. Phương pháp phân tích hồi quy đa biến được dùng trong nghiên cứu này nhằm xem xét các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến kết quả sinh kế của cư dân vùng hạn mặn. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy, thu nhập là một trong những yếu tố của kết quả sinh kế và có nhiều yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến thu nhập của cư dân vùng hạn mặn. Vốn vay có mối quan hệ ngược chiều, trong khi đó đất sản xuất nông nghiệp, số nguồn thu nhập, kinh nghiệm, hỗ trợ của địa phương, số phương tiện sản xuất có mối quan hệ cùng chiều với thu nhập. Trên cơ sở đó, một số giải pháp được đề xuất nhằm giúp người dân thích ứng với hạn mặn trong thời gian tới tại địa bàn nghiên cứu.

Kaolin sample (mixture of halloysite and kaolinite) from Thach Khoan, Phu Tho province was studied to remove Pb2+ ions from an aqueous solution. The SEM-EDS and TEM analysis showed that in the kaolin sample, tubular halloysite and plate kaolinite minerals coexist, similar to the results from previous studies. The various treatment conditions such as contact time, solution pH, the adsorbent weight, and initial concentration of Pb2+ were examined and evaluated using batch adsorption experiments. The results showed that under experimental conditions of pH0 = 5.31 and a temperature of 25 °C, with 0.7 g of Thach Khoan kaolin material, the Pb2+ adsorption can reach equilibrium after about 50 minutes and efficiency reached 90.75%. The adsorption process follows the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model with the maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of 3.79 mg/g and follows the pseudo-second-order kinetic equation. This result indicated that unmodified Thach Khoan kaolin with a mixture of tabular halloysite and plate kaolinite minerals has a significant potential in removing heavy ions from aqueous solution.

This paper reported the impact of pH on the structure, morphology, and the green upconversion (UC) emission of Er/Yb/Mo tri-doped hydroxyapatite (HA) synthesized through hydrothermal method. X-ray diffraction confirmed that the pH of the solution strongly influenced the phase composition of the phosphors, and HA single phase was obtained at a high pH value. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) images of the phosphor exhibited rod-like morphology, and their length increased with increased of the pH values. Under laser-diode excitation wavelength of 975 nm, the phosphor showed typical upconversion emission bands of the ion: strong green emission bands around 510-535/540-560 nm and weak red emission bands around 630-680 nm. Through years Sony In Japan has shown success in bringing to the market high quality products, and via technical inventions. Today risk management is one of vital issues in Sony to maintain its reputation in global markets. The purpose of this study is to find out impacts of economic factors at macro level on net profit of a big technological giant like Sony. We found that movement of net profit in big firms such as Sony will reflect the business health of technology system and the whole economy. The results of quantitative research, in a seven factor model, show that the increase in inflation, GDP (increasing too much) and lending rate and reducing risk free rate has a significant effect on reducing Sony net profit with the highest impact coefficient, the second is decreasing the exchange rate. Last but not least, this study proposes risk management solutions and business management plans to lower business risks, cost and enhance its net profit.

Changing climate patterns and increases in climate extremes pose new challenges to livelihoods of ethnic communities in the upland area in Thừa Thien-Huế (TTH) province. Unpredictability and extreme events have had adverse effects on both farming and income of many ethnic minority households who are already more likely to be vulnerable due to socio-economic and cultural marginalization. Promoting household resilience to climate extremes has emerged as a key development priority for those living in this area. Using data from a household survey conducted in two upland districts of TTH province (Nam Đong and A Lưới), this study employed FAO’s resilience framework to measure household climate change resilience of different ethnic groups and a Poison regression model to identify determinants of household adaptation. Results showed that ethnic minority households had relatively low resilience to climate change and variability with the resilience index only 0.428. Due to geographic isolation, agriculture-dependent ethnic minority households in A Lưới were least resilient to climate change. Results suggest that interventions aimed at promoting climate resilience for ethnic minority households should focus on increasing people’s knowledge of climate change and associated impacts and risks; and improving household income, savings and strengthen household asset base. Almost all households in the study areas have adopted adaptation measures, such as adjusting the seasonal calendar for crop production; using local crop varieties; practicing mixed cropping; and mulching. Education level, climate change awareness and risk perception of the household head, household income source and ability to access credit were key elements of households’ choice of adaptation strategies.

In this paper we obtain an Ito differential representation for a class of singular stochastic Volterra integral equations. As an application, we investigate the rate of convergence in the small time central limit theorem for the solution.

Quinolone and isoquinolone alkaloids, which were found in the plant kingdom, are now potential antioxidants. In this case study, a quantum calculated procedure utilizing the density functional theory (DFT)-B3LYP method coupled with basis set 6–311++G(d,p) was used to investigate free-radical quenching activity of alkaloidal quinolone viridicatol (1) and alkaloidal isoquinolone 5-hydroxy-8-methoxy-4-phenylisoquinolin-1(2H)-one (2). On the basis of thermodynamic perspective and from the findings, the powerful antioxidative potential of these two title compounds in the liquids water, methanol, and especially DMSO was mostly driven by the proton affinity (PA), consistent with the SPLET (sequential proton loss electron transfer) mechanism. The environmental effect has also been investigated, and the antioxidative action caused by O–H bond disruption is easier than that of N–H bond in both the gaseous phase and liquids. In the gaseous phase, the combinations of two studied compounds and •OOH/DPPH radicals are kinetic evidence, including two intermediates and one transition state. From thermodynamic and kinetic viewpoints, compound 2 can be seen as a therapeutically useful agent in antioxidative treatment because of the role of a 5-hydroxy group.

In this paper, we study the distribution of the integrated Jacobi diffusion processes with Brownian noise and fractional Brownian noise. Based on techniques of Malliavin calculus, we develop a unified method to obtain explicit estimates for the tail distribution of these integrated diffusions.

In this paper, we use the Kolmogorov distance to investigate the Smoluchowski–Kramers approximation for stochastic differential equations. We obtain an explicit Berry–Esseen error bound for the rate of convergence. Our main tools are the techniques of Malliavin calculus.

Major-element geochemistry of Miocene sedimentary rock and modern river sediment samples in the Ba River basin, South Central Vietnam are utilized to assess the degree of chemical weathering in the Miocene and the present time. Sediment samples were analysed by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometer show that Miocene sedimentary rocks contain higher SiO2 and K2O, but lower Fe2O3, TiO2, MgO, Na2O, MnO, CaO, P2O5 than modern river sediment. Major-element geochemistry indicates that Miocene sedimentary rocks and modern river sediment are characterized by stronger depliption of Ca, Na and Mg than K and Si during the chemical weathering in this river basin. The similar relative depleption of Na, Ca, Mg, Si and K between modern river sediments and sedimentary rocks indicate not much deffirent the intensity of chemical weathering in the Miocene and the present time. The chemical index of alteration (CIA) alter from 69 to 93 in Miocene sedimentary rocks (average 74) and from 69 to 78 (average 77) in morden river sediments, indicating moderate chemical weathering in the Ba River basin in the Miocene and the present time.

In virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments, the remote display protocol has a big responsibility to transmit video data from a data center-hosted desktop to the endpoint. The protocol must ensure a high level of client perceived end-to-end quality of service (QoS) under heavy work load conditions. Each remote display protocol works differently depending on the network and which applications are being delivered. In healthcare applications, doctors and nurses can use mobile devices directly to monitor patients. Moreover, the ability to implement tasks requiring high consumption of CPU and other resources is applicable to a variety of applications including research and cloud gaming. Such computer games and complex processes will run on powerful cloud servers and the screen contents will be transmitted to the client. TO enable such applications, remote display technology requires further enhancements to meet more stringent requirements on bandwidth and QoS, an to allow realtime operation. In this paper, we present an architecture including flexible QoS control to improve the user quality of experience (QoE). The QoS control is developed based on linear regression modeling using historical network data. Additionally, the architecture includes a novel compression algorithm of 2D images, designed to guarantee the best image quality and to reduce video delay; this algorithm is based on k-means clustering and can satisfy the requirements of realtime onboard processing. The automated machine learning (AutoML) process can require searching through complex configuration spaces of not only machine learning (ML) components and their hyperparameters but also ways of composing them together, i.e. forming ML pipelines. Optimisation efficiency and the model accuracy attainable for a fixed time budget suffer if this pipeline configuration space is excessively large. A key research question is whether it is both possible and practical to preemptively avoid costly evaluations of poorly performing ML pipelines by leveraging their historical performance for various ML tasks, i.e. meta-knowledge. The previous experience comes in the form of classifier/regressor accuracy rankings derived from either (1) a substantial but non-exhaustive number of pipeline evaluations made during historical AutoML runs, i.e. 'opportunistic' meta-knowledge, or (2) comprehensive cross-validated evaluations of classifiers/regressors with default hyperparameters, i.e. 'systematic' meta-knowledge. Numerous experiments with the AutoWeka4MCPS package suggest that (1) opportunistic/systematic meta-knowledge can improve ML outcomes, typically in line with how relevant that meta-knowledge is, and (2) configuration-space culling is optimal when it is neither too conservative nor too radical. However, the utility and impact of meta-knowledge depend critically on numerous facets of its generation and exploitation, warranting extensive analysis; these are often overlooked/underappreciated within AutoML and meta-learning literature. Objective: Our aim was to evaluate topical EGF, VEGF, MMP12 concentrations of ​​chronic wounds which after Autologous Platelet - Rich Plasma(PRP) therapy. Methods: The study conducted a descriptive longitudinal study at the Wound Healing Center of the Vietnam National Burn Hospital from 11/2018 to 2/2020. 24 patients with chronic wounds and aged 18 years old or older were enrolled in this study. These patients were injected autologous PRP at wound bed. We biopsied chronic wound bed tissue for evaluating EGF, VEGF and MMP12 by the Elisa technique at the first, second and third week of follow-up. Results: After PRP therapy, topical EGF and VEGF concentration increased after 1 week of treatment. MMP12 concentraiton significantly reduced compaired to before PRP therapy. Conclusion: In addition to PRP therapy had a beneficial effect on cutaneous regeneration and wound healing of the chronic wound. The autologous PRP promoted the wound healing process byincreating topical EGF and VEGF, reducing MMP12 which known as a pro-inflammatiory mediator.

Nickel microspheres were produced in many different methods. In this paper, the method of aided electric discharge (EDM) was applied to produce hollow and solid nickel microspheres. We used three types of dielectric liquids, such as deionized water, kerosene, and EDM fluid. The effects of different dielectric liquids on the diameter of nickel microspheres were studied, using scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). We have utilized smile view software and origin software to measure the diameter of the microspheres and to analyses the diameter distributions of the nickel microspheres, respectively. Our findings show that while the dielectric liquid is deionized water, the diameter range of nickel microspheres ranges mainly from 0 to 5 μm, the percentages of the total number of microspheres of this range is 73.4%, even appearing nickel microspheres with nanometer size and hollow nickel microspheres. The dielectric liquid is kerosene and EDM fluid, the diameter range of nickel microspheres is mainly from 15 μm to 20 μm, the percentages of the total number of microspheres of this range are 30% and nickel nanospheres are not found.

1,720 chemical, mineral, and petrography samples in the Suoi Thau-Sang Than area, northeastern Vietnam were collected to investigate polymetallic nodules resource. The similarity-analogy in ore geology, direct calculation method for metallization parameters, and mineral resource estimation based on cutoff grade change methods are employed to estimate polymetallic nodules resource from the Suoi Thau, Sang Than, and Ban Kep areas in northeastern Vietnam. The similarity-analogy in ore geology indicates 1,785,000 tons Cu, 12,005,000 tons Pb+Zn, and 195 kg Au in total. The direct calculation method for metallization parameters shows 2,060,000 tons Cu, 13,648,000 tons Pb+Zn, and 224 kg Au in total. These methods display that the Sang Than area contains mainly polymetallic nodules in the studied area. Following the mineral resource estimation based on cutoff grade changes, estimation results indicate potential Pb-Zn nodules resource in the Ban Kep and Cu nodules resource in the Sang Than, while no potential Au nodules resource in the Suoi Thau and the Sang Than as well as the Ban Kep. The estimation results obtained from mineral resource estimation based on cutoff grade changes are suitable with the results from the traditional geometric block methods. Our study suggests that the Sang Than area can be considered as a potential Cu nodules resource, and the Ban Kep area is potential Pb-Zn nodules resource in northeastern Vietnam for future exploitation, while there is no potential polymetallic nodules resource in the Suoi Thau area. Furthermore, the one resource estimation based on cutoff grade changes method displays an overview of the prospect on polymetallic nodules resources, indicating that this method can serve as a basis for the proposed selection of the prospective areas for effective Cu, Pb-Zn, and Au mineral exploration in the Suoi Thau-Sang Than area, northeastern Vietnam.

In this paper, we consider a fundamental class of stochastic differential equations with time delays. Our aim is to investigate the weak convergence with respect to delay parameter of the solutions. Based on the techniques of Malliavin calculus, we obtain an explicit estimate for the rate of convergence. An application to the Carathéodory approximation scheme of stochastic differential equations is provided as well.

Climate change is a major challenge to rural livelihoods in Vietnam, particularly in remote and mountainous areas. Access and use of climate information is considered vital to households’ and communities’ adaptive capacity. This research employed a survey to investigate barriers to the access, and use of, formal climate change information among two groups of farmers (ethnic minority and Kinh) in mountainous areas of Thừa Thien Huế province, Vietnam. Adopting a logit model, the results show that the main barriers were: 1) farmers’ lack of trust of formal climate-related services; 2) farmers’ lack of perceived risk from climate change; and 3) difficulties in balancing climate adaptation and economic benefits of new interventions. Ethnicity was not a barrier, as all farmers looked for climate information from informal channels (friends, neighbors, market actors) rather than from formal channels (agricultural departments, television, radio), although cultural issues such as language did act as a barrier. This research recommends strengthening the networks and interactions between market actors and government staff with local people, through direct communication and adaptation demonstrations. Formal and informal climate information channels should be integrated to effectively combine local resources and indigenous knowledge with advanced technologies, to support farmers’ sustainable and robust climate adaptation responses. Further, the research found that while farmers have access to devices, such as smart phones, they prefer to use these for entertainment rather than climate information. The implications of the study therefore are that any future network or communication activities should be in local languages and note the limitations of using devices for information dissemination.
