The data used to generate the plots in the main text of reference arXiv.2303.08184 is stored in the file "data_specNQS" in HDF5 format. The results for the spectral functions for the 2D quantum Ising model (QIM) and the Rydberg-array model (RyM) are included in this file. The folders "Fig1", "Fig2", and "Fig3" contain the data and scripts necessary to generate the graphs in the main text. The folder "additionalFT" contains the time-dependent results and the scripts used to compute the Fourier transform (FT) necessary to generate the results of Figs. 1, 2, and 3. The folder "GS_data" contains the ground-state results for the QIM and RyM. These data include the results for static quantities (which are not shown in the manuscript) and the variational parameters of the NQSs.

Spectral functions are central to link experimental probes to theoretical models in condensed matter physics. However, performing exact numerical calculations for interacting quantum matter has remained a key challenge especially beyond one spatial dimension. In this work, we develop a versatile and numerically exact approach using neural quantum states to obtain spectral properties based on simulations of the dynamics of excitations initially localized in real or momentum space. We apply this approach to compute the dynamical structure factor in the vicinity of phase transitions of different two-dimensional quantum Ising models, including one that describes the complex density wave orders of Rydberg atom arrays. When combined with deep network architectures we find that our method reliably describes dynamical structure factors of arrays with up to $24\times24$ spins, including the diverging time scales at critical points. Our approach is broadly applicable to interacting quantum lattice models in two dimensions and consequently opens up a route to compute spectral properties of correlated quantum matter in yet inaccessible regimes.

Trabajo presentado en la 9th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Virtual Environments for Measurement Systems and Applications (CIVEMSA), celebrada en Chemnitz (Alemania), del 15 al 17 de junio de 2022, Prediction of the quality of plastic molded parts based on process parameters is gaining a lot of attention. The complexity of the injection molding process lies in the high number of parameters that intervene throughout the process. From the large set of process parameters, the key issue is to find the relevant ones that should be used to correctly classify the produced parts. In this work we compared algorithms from the three main families of feature selection methods: filter, wrapper, and embedded. Additionally, a hybrid approach was also evaluated that takes into account not only the supervised contribution but also an unsupervised method in an effort to evaluate each feature without the influence of the target label. Validation involves three different machines from three different brands working with three different processes and materials. A novelty in this paper is the inclusion of two injection molding processes: traditional injection molding and stretch blow injection molding. All datasets were provided by a plastic injection company in Portugal. The results show that despite the variability in materials and machines, there is a group of variables that should be monitored in all of these processes (including the two types of molding techniques). In addition to the process parameters, adding the ambiance temperature around the machine improves the representation of the process through the data.

Integrated circuit design automation tools are essential for the feasibility of complex designs with millions of transistors. One of the steps performed within the process is the routing of interconnections between components of a circuit. This problem, which also aims to optimize the utilization of connection resources, has been shown to be NP-Complete and requires heuristic algorithms to look for the best achievable solutions. In this work, we present a definition of this problem in context with a brief review of existing solutions in the literature. Then, we propose a methodology for the development of an original algorithm, which aims to differentiate itself, in certain domains, from the solutions already proposed., in Portuguese language

Resource theories constitute a powerful theoretical framework and a tool that captures, in an abstract structure, pragmatic aspects of the most varied theories and processes. For physical theories, while this framework deals directly with questions about the concrete possibilities of carrying out tasks and processes, resource theories also make it possible to recast these already established theories on a new language, providing not only new perspectives on the potential of physical phenomena as valuable resources for technological development, for example, but they also provide insights into the very foundations of these theories. In this work, we will investigate some properties of a resource theory for quantum contextuality, an essential characteristic of quantum phenomena that ensures the impossibility of interpreting the results of quantum measurements as revealing properties that are independent of the set of measurements being made. We will present the resource theory to be studied and investigate certain global properties of this theory using tools and methods that, although already developed and studied by the community in other resource theories, had not yet been used to characterize resource theories of contextuality. Diabetes has beenrecognized as a possible risk factor for COVID-19 complications.Objective: International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) investi-gated perceptions, challenges and experience of health care professionals (HCP) takingcare of children and young people with diabetes worldwide during COVID-19 pandemic.Methods: From 21st April to 17th May 2020, during COVID-19 pandemic, a web-based survey was sent to ISPAD members and former participants of ISPAD confer-ences by email.Results: Responders from 215 diabetes centers from 75 countries completed the sur-vey. Majority were from UK (35; 16.3%), USA (20; 9.3%), and India (15; 7%). HCPwere mostly pediatric endocrinologists (64%). During COVID-19 pandemic, 16.5% ofresponders continued face-to-face consultation while most changed to telephone(32%) or video (18%) consultations. 19% reported a shortage of medical supplies.22% reported a delay in diagnosis of patients with new-onset diabetes, while 15%reported a higher incidence of DKA. 12% reported having one or more patients withCOVID-19. Most of the 86 children and adolescents with diabetes and COVID-19had only mild/moderate symptoms, while 5 required admission to an intensive careunit. No deaths were reported.Conclusions: This large global survey during COVID-19 pandemic showed that manyHCP adapted to the pandemic by resorting to telemedicine. One fourth of HCPreported delays in diagnosis and an increased rate of DKA. The construction industry is changing, the lack of man labour is a sign of the changes that are affecting the world. Since the financial crisis of 2008, the construction suffers and eagers to find solutions to face the new demand for housing and the lack of response to the current market cap. The shift for off-site construction is being talked recently with new development in technology with Building Information Modelling (BIM) leading this new transition. Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (D is the idea in this process, enhancing the design and production of the building parts in-house to be later assemble and transported to the site, providing a viable solution to the challenge presented. This dissertation result from a collaboration with Grupo Casais, a Portuguese construction company based in the city of Braga. The aim was to develop sustainable prefabrication processes, to be applied in current and future projects. Namely, the integration of BIM tools for the design and manufacturing of partitions walls system with a high degree of combinatorial application. The goal of the process contemplates the possibility of maximizing the repetition of prefabricated elements to be used and systematize their assembly on site. Therefore, by following the principles of DfMA to incorporate the maximization of resources and time, without compromising stakeholders and benefiting from the advantages of offsite construction. The solution developed uses Visual Programming to generate a process to divide and sort rooms by their typology, to later export as data. Additionally, through the research it used parameters with the aim of helping in grouping and sorting (within specific constrains) the building parts. This method allows to systematize the knowledge needed to define a computational tool for the manufacturing optimization of the rooms of a given project. With this goal in mind, the research was focused on the development of computational models that maximize the output of all the information. This research aims to bridge the gap of prefabrication between architecture and engineer by applying DfMA trough BIM tools. The desirable outcome can be applied to a project that was not prepared to be prefabricated, hence making it a reliable solution to make the transition. With the systematic definition of a set of computational models in a BIM Application Programming Interface (API), the aim was to coordinate and cooperate all the information available inside the model to optimize and generate information that can further help in the prefabrication and planning of building components.

Este artigo objetivou analisar o conhecimento profissional docente de um grupo de professores participantes de um processo formativo no que se refere ao ensino de medidas de tendência central (MTC), no âmbito do Programa Observatório da Educação. A metodologia da pesquisa qualitativa, desenvolvida na abordagem de pesquisa-ação, contou com a participação de 12 professores da rede estadual de São Paulo que lecionam matemática para os anos finais do ensino fundamental e do ensino médio. A coleta de dados foi feita em duas fases: diagnóstico e processo formativo. O diagnóstico propiciou a elaboração do plano inicial para o processo formativo, o qual permitiu ao grupo de professores, por meio das atividades e das discussões e das reflexões sobre a prática, aprofundar os conhecimentos acerca das características e das propriedades das MTC. Os resultados mostraram: a superação, por parte dos professores, da ideia de que a média geralmente é a mais adequada para indicar a tendência central de um conjunto de dados; a necessidade de ensinar o significado da moda; e a compreensão de quais são as dificuldades mais comuns entre os estudantes em relação à temática MTC. As ações formativas proporcionaram aos participantes motivação para a discussão, a reflexão e a disposição para expor concepções e questionamentos. Esse fato mostrou que tais práticas formativas podem ser desenvolvidas em outros contextos em cursos tanto de formação inicial como de formação continuada, possibilitando a outros professores ampliarem suas visões sobre essa temática voltada para o ensino de estatística.

Orientador: Sonia Maria Pessoa Pereira Bergamasco Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas Resumo: A tese apresenta reflexões de pesquisa sobre camponeses baianos ¿ em sua expressiva diversidade ¿, suas dinâmicas e reconfigurações territoriais, notadamente no município de Bom Jesus da Lapa (BA). A pesquisa tem o objetivo de compreender os processos socioterritoriais, identitários e classificatórios que permitiram a reconfiguração territorial de antigas fazendas de gado no Velho Chico em um "mosaico" de formas espaciais (acampamentos, assentamentos, quilombos e áreas de posseiros). Esta pesquisa encontra consonância nos estudos recentes sobre a diversidade dos camponeses no Brasil, quando se ampliam as investigações sobre os sujeitos sociais no campo brasileiro, articulando a relação entre diversidade de sujeitos e universalidade da questão agrária brasileira. Neste sentido, partiu-se para a leitura da realidade tendo como base de análise a manifestação e permanência da questão agrária no país, aqui entendida como um conjunto de feixes das forças sociais que configuram o campo brasileiro. A partir da realidade da Fazenda Curralinho, registrada em 1735, temos a articulação de três grandes conceitos: o conceito de experiência, para atentar às relações de produção e vivência dos sujeitos e grupos sociais; memória e identidade, conformadas na experiência e são substratos da vida em sociedade; e dessas, a constituição de múltiplas territorialidades, subjacentes à ação humana. O que se pode revelar é que as relações de dependência no interior da Fazenda Curralinho duraram até a década de 1970/1980, quando ao ser desmembrado desarticulou a relação de dependência, ensejando novas formas de relação social e as resistências cotidianas se tornaram resistências públicas, com um caráter contestatório eminentemente territorial. Favorecidos pelo crescimento da bandeira da "reforma agrária" dos anos de 1980, os antigos agregados conseguiram construir uma ponte entre a situação de conflito e a bandeira da luta pela terra, permitindo inserir-se na construção do Movimento CETA, da Conaq em Bom Jesus da Lapa e da Central Regional Quilombola. Todos estes movimentos tiveram a assessoria da Comissão Pastoral da Terra e foi nessa conjuntura que se permitiu que nas terras da antiga fazenda de gado pudesse se configurar um território diverso, expressando a multiplicidade de sujeitos sociais do campo. Ademais, compreende-se que a dinâmica das classificações e identidades sociais e étnicas está atrelada à inserção dos grupos sociais em escalas mais amplas, isto é, para além do local onde a luta na/pela terra e por territórios se expressam. A pesquisa foi realizada com vasta pesquisa bibliográfica, documental, cartográfica e um intenso trabalho de campo, tendo a pesquisa participante e a etnografia como base teórico-metodológica Abstract: This thesis presents a research analysis on Bahian peasants - in their expressive diversity - their dynamics and territorial reconfigurations, notably in the municipality of Bom Jesus da Lapa (BA). This research aims to understand the socio-territorial, identity and classificatory processes that allowed the reconfiguration of old cattle farms in the Old Chico in a "mosaic" of spatial forms (camping settlements, settlements, quilombos and squatter areas). This research is consistent with the recent studies on the diversity of peasants in Brazil, when these investigations are extended to the social subjects in the Brazilian rural area, articulating the relation between the diversity of subjects and the universality of the Brazilian agrarian question. In this sense, we set out to read the reality having as basis of analysis the manifestation and permanence of the agrarian question in the Country, here understood as a set of parcels of the social forces that make up the Brazilian agrarian field. From the reality of the Curralinho Farm, registered in 1735 ¿ and its dismemberment in the 1930¿s into the Carnaíba Farm - we have the articulation of three great concepts: the concept of experience, to enlighten the production and experience relations of the subjects and social groups; Memory and identity, conformed in experience and are substrates of life in society; And from these concepts the constitution of multiple territorialities, underlying human action. What can be revealed is that the relations of dependence within the Curralinho Farm lasted until the decade of 1970/1980, when being dismembered, it disrupted the relation of dependence, giving rise to new forms of social relation, and the daily resistances became public resistances, with an essentially territorial contestatory character. Favored by the growth of the "agrarian reform" banner of the 1980s, the former clusters succeeded in building a bridge between the conflict situation and the banner of the struggle for land, allowing them to insert themselves in the construction of the CETA Movement, of Conaq in Bom Jesus da Lapa and of the Quilombola Regional Center. All these movements had assistance from the Pastoral Land Commission and it was at this juncture that in the lands of the old cattle farm a diverse territory was made possible to be configured, expressing the multiplicity of social subjects of the agrarian territory. In addition, what can be understood is that the dynamics of classifications and social and ethnic identities are linked to the insertion of social groups in broader scales, that is, beyond the place where the struggle for land and territories are expressed. In this paper, we have studied the hypervelocity expansion of a spherical cavity in an infinite medium modeled with theextension of the porous plasticity criterion of Gurson [23] developed by Chen and Yuan [7] to account for plastic strain gradient induced size effects. Following the self-similar, steady-state solution derived by Cohen and Durban [9] for size-independent porous materials, we have computed the critical cavity expansion velocity which leads to the emergence of plastic shock waves for a wide range of initial void volume fractions and different values of the length scale parameter that controls the effect of size. We have shown that size effects hinder the emergence of plastic shock waves, so that as the length scale parameter increases, the expansion velocity required for the plastic shock to be formed increases. In addition, while porosity favors the formation of plastic shocks, as shown by Cohen and Durban [9], our results indicate that the effect of initial void volume fraction on plastic shock wave formation decreases for size-dependent materials.

This laboratory experiment describes the production and purification of plasmid DNA for undergraduate biochemistry and biotechnology courses. This experiment performed in a one-week period includes the protocols for plasmid pVAX1-LacZ production in Escherichia coli DH5α cells and subsequent purification of supercoiled pVAX1-LacZ. Firstly, the students use a growth medium that favors the replication of the plasmid resulting in a higher plasmid production during exponential growth. Afterwards, alkaline lysis is done to disrupt the bacterial cells and recover pVAX1-LacZ plasmid. Lastly, they perform the purification of pVAX1-LacZ supercoiled isoform by L-histidine chromatography, followed by agarose gel electrophoresis to characterize the separation of supercoiled isoform from contaminants. The proposed experiment provides an opportunity for students to acquire these skills that are routinely used in biochemistry and biotechnology laboratories. © 2019 International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 47(6):638-643, 2019.

As a tool for capturing irregular temporal dependencies (rather than resorting to binning temporal observations to construct time series), Hawkes processes with exponential decay have seen widespread adoption across many application domains, such as predicting the occurrence time of the next earthquake or stock market spike. However, practical applications of Hawkes processes face a noteworthy challenge: There is substantial and often unquantified variance in decay parameter estimations, especially in the case of a small number of observations or when the dynamics behind the observed data suddenly change. We empirically study the cause of these practical challenges and we develop an approach to surface and thereby mitigate them. In particular, our inspections of the Hawkes process likelihood function uncover the properties of the uncertainty when fitting the decay parameter. We thus propose to explicitly capture this uncertainty within a Bayesian framework. With a series of experiments with synthetic and real-world data from domains such as "classical" earthquake modeling or the manifestation of collective emotions on Twitter, we demonstrate that our proposed approach helps to quantify uncertainty and thereby to understand and fit Hawkes processes in practice.

In the context of the dispersion of the Metropolitan Region of Belém, the performance of one of the agents producing urban space with greater performance in the urban economy of the metropolis, the retail supermarket chains, is analyzed. Therefore, it is about analyzing the logics of the "Líder" supermarket chain and the relationship with the spreading trend of the metropolitan network nucleated by Belém. It starts from the premise of the emergence of retail supermarket groups as an expression of a metropolitan economy organized around the modern tertiary sector, especially commerce and services. The methodological path of the research is understood in three moments: bibliographic survey, documentary survey, systematic field observations with later production of cartography of the observed processes and statistical data collected. En el contexto de la dispersión de la Región Metropolitana de Belém, el presente trabajo analiza la actuación de uno de los agentes productores de espacio urbano con mayor influencia en la economía urbana de la metrópolis: las cadenas de supermercados minoristas. La investigación se centra en la lógica de actuación del grupo "líder" y su relación con la tendencia a la dispersión del tejido metropolitano, encabezado por la ciudad Belém. Se parte de la premisa de la emergencia de los grupos de supermercados minoristas como manifestación de una economía metropolitana organizada en torno al sector terciario moderno, especialmente al comercio y los servicios. La metodología de este trabajo abarca tres momentos: revisión bibliográfica, revisión documental, observaciones sistemáticas de campo y producción cartográfica de los procesos observados y datos estadísticos obtenidos. No contexto de dispersão da Região Metropolitana de Belém, analisa-se a atuação de um dos agentes produtores de espaço urbano com maior atuação na economia urbana da metrópole, as redes de supermercado varejistas. Trata-se, portanto, de analisar as lógicas de atuação da rede de supermercados "Líder" e a relação com a tendência de espraiamento da malha metropolitana nucleada por Belém. Parte-se da premissa da emergência dos grupos de supermercado varejista como expressão de uma economia metropolitana organizada em torno do setor terciário moderno, especialmente comércio e serviços. O percurso metodológico está compreendido em três momentos: levantamento bibliográfico, levantamento documental, observações sistemáticas de campo com produção de cartografia dos processos observados e dados estatísticos levantados.

A convivencia com os animais de companhia em nossas casas, familias, entre nossos amigos, em lugares publicos, em eventos privados, no mundo online/offline, pode estar se moldando e sendo moldada pelas interacoes e rituais convencionais dos humanos. Alem da preocupacao com o bem-estar do animal, condenando a “desumanidade” em relacao aos maus-tratos, a relacao de afeto, de empatia, faz com que o animal como ator possa ser construido e movimentar-se em sociedade, possui agencia animal, como sugere Osorio (2016). Na medida em que se torna ator social e passa a ter possibilidade de acesso a direitos sociais ou, pelo menos, possibilidade de acesso online, produz redes complexas de relacionamentos e estrategias de construcao de subjetividades complexas entre humanos e nao humanos.

This paper investigates both theoretically and using finite elements the elastoplastic field induced by a pressurizedspherical cavity expanding dynamically in an infinite medium modelled using the Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman porous plasticity approach. The theoretical model, which assumes that the porosity is uniformly distributed in the material and the cavitation fields are self-similar, incorporates artificial viscous stresses into the original formulation of Cohen and Durban (2013b) to capture the shock waves that emerge at high cavitation velocities. The finite element calculations, performed in ABAQUS/Explicit (2013) using the Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian adaptive meshing available in the code, simulate the cavity expansion process in materials with uniform and non-uniform distributions of porosity. The finite element results show that the distribution of porosity has small influence on the cavitation velocity, as well as on the location of the shock wave, which are primarily determined by the cavity pressure and the average material properties. In contrast, it is shown that the intensity of the shock wave, evaluated based on the maximum value of the plastic strain rate within the shock, depends on the local material porosity. The ability of the theoretical model to reproduce the numerical results obtained for the various distributions of porosity used in this work is exposed and discussed.

Objetivo: descrever a eficácia das ações de educação em saúde no controle e prevenção das neoplasias do colo do útero. Metodologia: O artigo utilizou a metodologia de revisão integrativa da literatura com base qualitativa-descritiva, a coleta nos repositórios eletrônicos se deram a partir de agosto de 2020 à novembro de 2021, foram encontrados 1.411 artigos, após análise e exclusão daqueles que não atendiam a pesquisa utilizou-se o total de 14. Resultados: Diferentes estudos empregam meios de comunicação heterogênicos para fomentar o conhecimento sobre o câncer cervical, bem como seus riscos, manifestações clínicas, tratamento e prevenção, como: ligações telefônicas, apresentação em slides, discussão grupais, palestras informativas, aconselhamentos, entre outros. Conclusão: As ações de educação em saúde tornam-se uma estratégia muito promissora, haja visto, que é uma atividade de baixo custo que permite a difusão de informações e conhecimento para a população em amplo aspecto, corroborando para o aumento da procura daquelas que recebem as ações de educação pela vacinação contra o HPV e a realização do exame de Papanicolau.

According to data from the United Nations, more than 3000 people have died each day in the world due to road traffic collision. Considering recent researches, the human error may be considered as the main responsible for these fatalities. Because of this, researchers seek alternatives to transfer the vehicle control from people to autonomous systems. However, providing this technological innovation for the people may demand complex challenges in the legal, economic and technological areas. Consequently, carmakers and researchers have divided the driving automation in safety and emergency systems that improve the driver perception on the road. This may reduce the human error. Therefore, the main contribution of this study is to propose a driving simulator platform to develop and evaluate safety and emergency systems, in the first design stage. This driving simulator platform has an advantage: a flexible software structure.This allows in the simulation one adaptation for development or evaluation of a system. The proposed driving simulator platform was tested in two applications: cooperative vehicle system development and the influence evaluation of a Driving Assistance System (\textit{DAS}) on a driver. In the cooperative vehicle system development, the results obtained show that the increment of the time delay in the communication among vehicles ($V2V$) is determinant for the system performance. On the other hand, in the influence evaluation of a \textit{DAS} in a driver, it was possible to conclude that the \textit{DAS'} model does not have the level of influence necessary in a driver to avoid an accident., Comment: 14 pages, 27 figures

Este artigo analisa e ressalta a importância da aplicação do estudo de tempos em setores produtivos, para determinar um modelo de produção na organização de forma a identificar problemas e otimiza-los. Em uma panificadora no estado do Pará no município de Marabá, foi realizado o estudo, onde o objetivo é identificar a capacidade produtiva aplicando-se ferramentas da engenharia de métodos para o encontro de melhorias em parte de suas operações. Para tal, foi realizado um analise teórica e através dos calculados do tempo normal, do tempo padrão de execução e da capacidade produtiva, obteve-se resultados que contribui de grande forma para um aperfeiçoamento da produtividade da empresa.

O artigo apresenta um estudo de caso realizado em uma pastelaria localizada no município de Marabá no suldeste do Pará, onde o objetivo é identificar a capacidade produtiva aplicando-se ferramentas da engenharia de métodos para o encontro de melhorias em parte do tempo de execuções das operações. Esta pesquisa objetivou realizar o levantamento ergonômico do trabalho no setor hoteleiro, visando à melhorias e bem-estar aos trabalhadores na cidade de Marabá, Pará. A amostra utilizada nesse estudo foi de 16 recepcionistas pertencentes a 06 hotéis de porte pequeno e médio. A coleta de dados foi realizada através de questionários semiestruturados e mensuração do posto de trabalho (antropometria e mobiliário). Para a análise dos dados foi utilizada estatística descritiva, sob as abordagens qualitativa e quantitativa. A partir da comparação entre medidas do mobiliário e antropometria, foi demonstrada a incompatibilidade entre os componentes do posto de trabalho, fato que pode comprometer a saúde dos recepcionistas a longo prazo. Além disso, observou-se um quadro de insatisfação instalado ocasionado pela exigência em assumir constantemente a postura de pé e também sentada, com deslocamentos contínuos e desconfortos gerados pela desorganização espacial do ambiente de trabalho.

Millions of users on the Internet discuss a variety of topics on Question-and-Answer (Q&A) instances. However, not all instances and topics receive the same amount of attention, as some thrive and achieve self-sustaining levels of activity, while others fail to attract users and either never grow beyond being a small niche community or become inactive. Hence, it is imperative to not only better understand but also to distill deciding factors and rules that define and govern sustainable Q&A instances. We aim to empower community managers with quantitative methods for them to better understand, control and foster their communities, and thus contribute to making the Web a more efficient place to exchange information. To that end, we extract, model and cluster user activity-based time series from $50$ randomly selected Q&A instances from the Stack Exchange network to characterize user behavior. We find four distinct types of user activity temporal patterns, which vary primarily according to the users' activity frequency. Finally, by breaking down total activity in our 50 Q&A instances by the previously identified user activity profiles, we classify those 50 Q&A instances into three different activity profiles. Our parsimonious categorization of Q&A instances aligns with the stage of development and maturity of the underlying communities, and can potentially help operators of such instances: We not only quantitatively assess progress of Q&A instances, but we also derive practical implications for optimizing Q&A community building efforts, as we e.g. recommend which user types to focus on at different developmental stages of a Q&A community.

Este estudo tem como objetivo identificar os sete tipos de perdas classificadas pelo Sistema Toyota de Produção (STP) em uma casa de caldos, localizado no sudeste do Pará. Para tal, utilizam-se os princípios da lógica de perdas do STP bem como, estudo bibliográfico de autores sobre a temática. Posteriormente fizemos a abordagem in loco, através de observações com levantamento de informações e aplicação de questionários, de modo a não somente identificam-se as perdas do STP, como também, propor alternativas para a minimização das perdas e custos nas organizações produtivas.

Digital image segmentation is the process of assigning distinct labels to different objects in a digital image, and the fuzzy segmentation algorithm has been successfully used in the segmentation of images from a wide variety of sources. However, the traditional fuzzy segmentation algorithm fails to segment objects that are characterized by textures whose patterns cannot be successfully described by simple statistics computed over a very restricted area. In this paper, we propose an extension of the fuzzy segmentation algorithm that uses adaptive textural affinity functions to perform the segmentation of such objects on bidimensional images. The adaptive affinity functions compute their appropriate neighborhood size as they compute the texture descriptors surrounding the seed spels (spatial elements), according to the characteristics of the texture being processed. The algorithm then segments the image with an appropriate neighborhood for each object. We performed experiments on mosaic images that were composed using images from the Brodatz database, and compared our results with the ones produced by a recently published texture segmentation algorithm, showing the applicability of our method.

Esse artigo foi realizado em uma microempresa, do segmento de distribuição de bebidas, localizadas na região sudeste do Pará no município de Marabá. O estudo tem o propósito de apresentar os benefícios da utilização do programa 5S para a melhoria da qualidade no negócio, pois a ferramenta tem uma grande importância no processo de implementação de um programa de qualidade total. O trabalho caracteriza-se como um estudo exploratório in loco, e com a análise dos dados houve um diagnóstico claro, da situação do empreendimento estudado, evidenciando a necessidade da utilização da metodologia 5S que promove a competitividade no mercado otimizando os lucros e consolidando a estratégia do microempreendimento.

Trabajo presentado en Barcelona Computational, Cognitive and Systems Neuroscience (BARCCSYN), celebrado del 16 al 17 de junio de 2016, [Introduction] Major depressive disorder (MD) is a severe psychiatric disorder with a high prevalence. The pharmacological treatment of major depression is mainly based on drugs inhibiting serotonin (5-HT) and/or noradrenaline (NA) reuptake. These treatments require several weeks to induce a full clinical effect and many depressed patients show limited or no improvement. Clinical and preclinical studies have shown that ketamine, a non-competitive antagonist of the NMDA-R, at subanesthetic doses, induces immediate and long lasting effects in treatment-resistant depressed patients and antidepressant-like effects in animal models (1,2). The mechanisms underlying its therapeutic effects are not fully understood. In rodents, the infralimbic (IL) and prelimbic (PL) region of the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) are, respectively, the homologous areas of the human ventral anterior cingulate cortex and the dorsolateral PFC, key areas in the pathophysiology of MD. In the present study, we investigate the actions of ketamine on the activity of pyramidal and GABAergic neurons of the PL and IL area of the rat mPFC and also how ketamine modulates the responses in these neurons after physiological stimulation of the dorsal raphe nucleus (DR)., [Methods] Neuronal discharge and local field potentials were recorded in the PL and IL of chloral hydrate anesthetized rats (n=10 controls, n=16 ketamine) using silicon probes (Neuronexus CM32; 4 tetrodes/area). GABAergic and pyramidal neurons were identified by action potential characteristics using a k-means clustering algorithm and by antidromic stimulation from the DR. Neuronal firing rate was recorded during 2 hours after intravenous injection of ketamine (0, 0.25 and 2.5mg/kg; in 0.9% NaCl solution). Responses in PL and IL neurons evoked by DR stimulation were analyzed by measuring the magnitude and duration of inhibitory and excitatory responses from peristimulus-time histograms (PSTH) (before, 5, 60 and 120 minutes after ketamine)., [Results] ketamine injections induced an overall rapid and long-lasting (2 hours) increase in the activity of mPFC neurons (with varying individual responses), with a more robust response observed in the PL area. Currently we are identifying at least three types of cortical neurons (putative GABAergic interneurons, DR-projecting pyramidal neurons and putative pyramidal neurons). Soon, we will be able to evaluate the effect of ketamine on the firing rate of these specifics populations and see how ketamine modulates the responses of these neurons to DR stimulation. Moreover, we will analyze the intra-mPFC relationship among the different cell types using joint peristimulus time histograms and crosscorrelation functions.

Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Pedobacter sp. strain NL19. The genome has 5.99 Mbp and a G+C content of 39.0%. NL19 was isolated from sludge from an abandoned uranium mine in the north of Portugal, and it produces potent antibacterials against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

An experimental set-up was used to record the thermal history of duplex stainless steel FSW joint. For points at equal distance from the weld centreline, temperature measured near the beginning of the weld was lower than that measured in the middle of the welded joint. This was attributed to a non-stationary transfer condition. FSW thermal cycle showed shorter time spent at elevated temperature compared that presented by fusion welding, indicating less propensity to detrimental second phase precipitation. No âmbito da Saúde do Trabalhador, a enfermagem tem papel importante na prevenção das doenças ocupacionais. A Perda Auditiva Induzida por Ruído (PAIR) tornou-se um problema de saúde pública acarretando danos à saúde do trabalhador. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar o perfil dos trabalhadores atendidos pelo Serviço Social da Indústria da Unidade Sudoeste - Bahia submetidos à audiometria. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo de natureza quantitativa. A pesquisa foi realizada por meio da análise de 100 prontuários dos colaboradores do ramo ceramista submetidos à consulta clínica ocupacional e realização do exame audiométrico, atendidos numa empresa de Serviço Social de Indústria, especializado na área de Segurança e Saúde do Trabalhador. Os resultados mostraram que das audiometrias avaliadas, 49% tiveram algum tipo de alteração. Pode-se relacionar também a função ajudante de produção com a alteração da audiometria (p= 0,0027) e o tempo de função maior de 5 anos e alteração da audiometria (p=0,000). A PAIR neste estudo foi inferior em comparação com a prevalência nos demais artigos revisados. Com base nos resultados encontrados, emerge a necessidade de aprimoramento de programas de conservação auditiva (PCA) nas indústrias. Contudo o presente estudo sugere a necessidade de aperfeiçoamento de práticas de prevenção no campo da Enfermagem do Trabalho, com foco em ações voltadas para a informação do trabalhador exposto ao ruído ocupacional.

The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) play a crucial role in the world today. Globalization as we know it and the emergence of so-called Information and Knowledge Society are the direct consequence of radical technological innovations that led to the development of the Internet and revolutionized the dominant paradigm for accelerating the flow and increasing the intensity of contacts and exchanges. However, in this new society old problems remain, the exclusion takes new forms, the info-exclusion, generating a Digital Divide. Noting the importance of ICT to a wider integration, the EU has given emphasis to actions on this issue, in particular with the Lisbon Strategy and the eEurope Action Program. In Portugal this interest has been felt with the establishment of an Operational Program Topic in the CSF III (originally called POSI then renamed POS_C). This work aims to summarize the end of this issue by introducing a look on the Algarve region, compared with other regions of the Atlantic Area in central aspects as the behavior of citizens, firms, municipalities, schools, museums and the tourist accommodation.

This paper presents analytical, semi-analytical and numerical reference examples which can be employed for code verification of elasto-viscoplastic models under plane stress conditions. Mainly because of the overstress function the algorithms traditionally employed in elasto-plastic implementations must be rewritten to correctly impose the plane stress state along with the viscoplastic flow. The viscoplastic formulation presented here considers the strain-rate hardening effects by means of a hardening law that are assumed to have terms depending on the strain rate, which removed can represent a Voce type hardening. The proposed verification tests were employed for the numerical verification of an in-house implementation of the so-called stress-projected procedure inside the finite element method context. Although the focus of this paper is on the stressprojected algorithms the examples presented here can be employed for the verification of other algorithms intended to impose the plane stress state in viscoplasticity

In the last few years, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have dominated the discussion of the role of online learning in the future of higher education (HE). The MOOC movement is mostly based in the USA where the for-profit educational start-ups such as Coursera, Udacity, and the MIT and Harvard-founded non-profit platform edX take the lead. On the European level, many Member States have recognized the potential impact of technology on education and e-learning initiatives have been launched. Some universities have joined the USA initiatives and others were created, like the pan-European initiative OpenupEd, supported by the European Commission (EC), as well as FutureLearn, Iversity, France Université Numérique (FUN), UNEDcoma or Miríada X. Nonetheless, European initiatives have been isolated and fragmented and the EU risks in lagging behind the USA and some Asian countries that are investing in ICT-based strategies to reshape education and training. The EU recognizes that has a role to play in the promotion of best practices and support exchanges across Member States. The EU intervention concerning the deployment and availability of digital technology and content through financial support, public-private partnerships and recommendations, could generate economies of scale and interoperability benefits, thus avoiding fragmentation. One solution that fits this line of action would be the creation of a shared European MOOC platform, where HE institutions (HEI) could publish their courses. Such platform would enable the collaboration of (pan-)European HEI in the development of new educational solutions which could otherwise be out of reach if designed by each institution on its own, promoting their international reach, including recruitment and support.
