In this paper, 1,538 papers retrieved with the keywords "sports artificial intelligence (AI)" on the Web of Science database since 2007 were taken as the data source, and the Cite Space V software was used to visualize and analyze them. A visual knowledge graph was used to streamline the countries, institutions and authors conducting sports AI research, discipline distribution, research hotspots and development trends in the past 15 years. Subsequently, its development direction and research progress were discussed. Sports AI was widely distributed, with the US, China and the UK leading the way. The most prolific authors and teams in research on sports AI were concentrated in American universities. Their main research direction is to develop and improve smart wearable devices based on machine learning and deep learning technologies for different groups of people. Research on sports AI involved multiple disciplines, which mainly applied and referred to research methodologies and theories on engineering, computer science and sports science. It could be seen from the frequency and centrality of keywords that in the current field of sports AI, machine learning is the main direction, artificial neural networks is the main algorithm, and practical and empirical research based on data mining is the focus. The research hotspots were divided into three major clusters: physical health promotion, sports injury prevention and control, and athletic performance enhancement. How to introduce intelligent technology into sports for a perfect integration still has an arduous and long way to go. Tennis is an important sporting event. In China, the number of people who study and participate in tennis can be said to be quite large, but there are not many people who insist on playing tennis in the end. Some coaches and tennis groups have come up with a number of different teaching styles in order to keep tennis players going. Its main features are as follows: To cultivate students' interest in learning, the sequence of strokes in tennis is used for teaching. Although tennis has no special requirements for the physical condition of the athlete, tennis is a relatively difficult sport to master. What is lacking at present is more effective and simpler teaching methods, so training should be carried out in a targeted manner in the tennis baseline stroke technique. In order to make the tennis baseline stroke teaching more intuitive and easy to learn, this paper applies the neural network learning algorithm to the research and analysis of the tennis baseline stroke technique and proposes the core technology of the tennis baseline stroke technique. On this basis, the key techniques of tennis baseline stroke technique are discussed. Based on this, a basic model based on deep convolutional neural network is proposed. The experimental results show that the forehand scores of the three throwing methods in the experimental group are 6.47 and 7.28, respectively, which is better than the control group. The three throwing methods are self-throwing, close throwing, and long throwing. It shows that the teaching method in this paper can greatly improve the students' tennis baseline hitting skills. As China's economic level and industrial volume continue to develop and expand, the traditional methods of business management and resource scheduling demonstrate significant limitations and misalignments with China's daily economic activities. Traditional industrial and commercial management resource scheduling is highly reliant on manual labor. When confronted with the requirements of large-scale project management, the pure manual mode cannot track the real-time progress of the project flexibly, effectively, and in a timely manner, resulting in the inability to complete the corresponding resource-scheduling work efficiently, which will affect the overall operation progress of the project. Deep neural networks have a high-application potential for solving extremely complex and highly nonlinear optimization problems. Artificial intelligence and deep learning research have advanced at a rapid pace over the past few decades, thanks to the efforts of numerous researchers. Combined with GPU technology, the deep learning framework can provide an extremely complex optimization problem with a practical and feasible optimization scheme and corresponding solution path in a very short amount of time. Therefore, this paper explores the potential application of deep learning technology to industrial and commercial resource-scheduling management. By analyzing the benefits of deep learning technology and the bottleneck issues of existing industrial and commercial resource scheduling, a real-time optimized industrial and commercial resource-scheduling model based on deep learning technology is developed. The model is evaluated using the respective data set. The test results demonstrate that the resource-scheduling model proposed in this paper has strong real-time and high-operation efficiency and can assist engineers in completing the corresponding resource-scheduling tasks. Congestion pricing has been unquestionably recognized as an efficient strategy for managing traffic demand following the successful introduction of such schemes in a number of cities. However, the lack of political and public acceptance can be blamed for the nonexecution of congestion pricing projects in numerous cities around the world. This paper sheds light on the impacts of congestion pricing and the factors influencing its public acceptance. Our research was aimed to answer the following questions: (ⅰ) What are the factors that can influence public acceptance of congestion pricing? (ⅱ) What are the impacts of implementing a congestion pricing scheme? (ⅲ) How can we overcome the barriers that currently stand in the way of public acceptance of congestion pricing? To answer these questions, we developed a case study combining stated preference and revealed preference data collected in Nanjing, China. The study analyzes the acceptance of congestion pricing and the factors influencing it, such as socioeconomics, the perceived impact, fairness and public transit-related factors. We compare logistic regression and artificial neural network models to gain a deeper knowledge of the important factors and investigate the respondents' attitudes. The results revealed that the perceived impacts on congestion, the environment, trips to the city center, revenue allocation, public transportation price satisfaction, annual income, fairness, car ownership and travel frequency, along with the efficiency and capacity of public transport systems, need to be included when evaluating individuals' acceptance of congestion pricing. Among these, the perceived impacts on congestion and the environment, fairness and revenue allocation to public transportation are the most significant factors. Moreover, we offer further qualitative insight into the individual, economic and social impacts of congestion pricing. Particulate Matters such as PM10, PM2.5 may contain heavy metal oxides and harmful substances that threaten human health and environmental quality. In this paper, we propose a new combined neural network algorithm which based on Elman, echo state network (ESN) and cascaded BP neural network (CBP) to predict PM10 and PM2.5. In order to further improve the performance of the prediction result, we use the simulated annealing algorithm (SA) to optimize the parameters in the combination method to form the optimal combination model. And particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used to optimize the parameters in ESN. The chemical species in the atmosphere which include SO2, NO, NO2, O3 and CO in Baiyin, Gansu Province of China are used to test and verify the proposed combined method. Background: With the character of high incidence, high prevalence and high mortality, stroke has brought a heavy burden to families and society in China. In 2009, the Ministry of Health of China launched the China national stroke screening and intervention program, which screens stroke and its risk factors and conducts high-risk population interventions for people aged above 40 years old all over China. In this program, stroke risk factors include hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, smoking, lack of exercise, apparently overweight and family history of stroke. People with more than two risk factors or history of stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) are considered as high-risk. However, it is impossible for this criterion to classify stroke risk levels for people with unknown values in fields of risk factors. The missing of stroke risk levels results in reduced efficiency of stroke interventions and inaccuracies in statistical results at the national level. In this paper, we use 2017 national stroke screening data to develop stroke risk classification models based on machine learning algorithms to improve the classification efficiency.Method: Firstly, we construct training set and test sets and process the imbalance training set based on oversampling and undersampling method. Then, we develop logistic regression model, Naïve Bayesian model, Bayesian network model, decision tree model, neural network model, random forest model, bagged decision tree model, voting model and boosting model with decision trees to classify stroke risk levels.Result: The recall of the boosting model with decision trees is the highest (99.94%), and the precision of the model based on the random forest is highest (97.33%). Using the random forest model (recall: 98.44%), the recall will be increased by about 2.8% compared with the method currently used, and several thousands more people with high risk of stroke can be identified each year.Conclusion: Models developed in this paper can improve the current screening method in the way that it can avoid the impact of unknown values, and avoid unnecessary rescreening and intervention expenditures. Landslides are one of the most destructive geological disasters and have been caused many casualties and economic losses every year in the world. The reservoir area formed by the world's largest hydropower project, Three Gorges Hydropower project of China, has become a natural testing ground for landslide prediction in the hope of reducing losses. In this paper, a new algorithm with strong optimization ability, the water cycle algorithm (WCA), is combined with the extreme learning machine (ELM) to improve the prediction accuracy of step-wise landslide. The gray relational grade analysis method was adopted to determine the main influencing factors of the landslide's periodic displacement. Then, the determined factors were used as the input items of the proposed WCA-ELM model, and the corresponding periodic displacement was used as the model output item. Taking the Liujiabao landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir area as a case history, the proposed model was verified through a comparison with the measurements. The results showed that the model has a faster convergence rate and higher prediction accuracy than the traditional back-propagation neural network model and ELM-model. Landslides, widespread and highly dangerous geological disasters, pose significant risks to humankind and the ecological environment. Consequently, predicting landslides is vital for disaster prevention and mitigation strategies. At present, the predominant methods for predicting landslide susceptibility are evolving from conventional machine learning techniques to deep learning approaches. To overcome this challenge, this study presents the TabNet algorithm, which combines the interpretability and selective feature extraction of tree models with the representation learning and comprehensive training capabilities of neural network models. This paper explores the potential of employing the TabNet algorithm for landslide susceptibility analysis in China's WanZhou region and evaluates its performance against traditional machine learning techniques. The experimental data indicate that the TabNet algorithm achieves a recall score of 0.898 and an AUC of 0.915, demonstrating a generalization capability that is comparable to that of classical machine learning algorithms. The demand for talents extends beyond theoretical knowledge to include students' IPE (Ideological and Political Education). We can only continue to promote the rapid development of university teaching in China by putting in place a solid management system. It is the foundation of college students' IPE in this era of rapid information technology development to accurately adapt to and understand the actual problems and requirements of IPE proposed by the development of the times and innovate and develop accordingly. Deep learning (DL) is a sophisticated machine learning algorithm that outperforms previous technologies in speech and image recognition. In this paper, DLNN (deep learning neural network) technology is applied to IPE evaluation and a set of university-specific IPE evaluation index systems is developed. The BPNN (BP Neural Network) evaluation model is used to train and study a specific amount of teaching quality data in the MATLAB simulation tool. On the prediction of IPE evaluation, the BPNN algorithm has a prediction error of about 0.050.4 according to the findings. As a result of the fast rise of globalization, people in China are learning English at a rapid pace. However, there is a severe shortage of English teachers in the region, which is a major hindrance. To address these concerns, a deep learning-based algorithm is proposed that can not only check English pronunciation but also help learners distinguish between phonemic and quality phonemic while listening and differentiating, as well as correct phonemic errors, thereby increasing their language learning capacity. In order to study the application of nonlinear network identification technology in English learning, this paper evaluates the English pronunciation quality through the deep learning algorithm of deep learning combined with the related contents of neural network data model, and the experimental results of speech recognition structure are analyzed and discussed in detail. The concordance between machine and manual intonation evaluation is 80%, the concordance rate of adjacent intonation evaluation is 98.33%, and the Pearson correlation coefficient is 0.627 that shows the technique is reliable. The method of English pronunciation and speech identification model is sensible and dependable, which can give beginners a punctual, exact and impartial judgment and response guidance, assist learners to get on the differences between their phonemic and standard phonemic, and correct phonemic mistakes, in order to enhance the ability of oral English learning. The early stage lung cancer often appears as ground-glass nodules (GGNs). The diagnosis of GGN as preinvasive lesion (PIL) or invasive adenocarcinoma (IA) is very important for further treatment planning. This paper proposes an automatic GGNs' invasiveness classification algorithm for the adenocarcinoma. 1431 clinical cases and a total of 1624 GGNs (3–30 mm) were collected from Shanghai Cancer Center for the study. The data is in high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) format. Firstly, the automatic GGN detector which is composed by a 3D U-Net and a 3D multi-receptive field (multi-RF) network detects the location of GGNs. Then, a deep 3D convolutional neural network (3D-CNN) called Attention-v1 is used to identify the GGNs' invasiveness. The attention mechanism was introduced to the 3D-CNN. This paper conducted a contract experiment to compare the performance of Attention-v1, ResNet, and random forest algorithm. ResNet is one of the most advanced convolutional neural network structures. The competition performance metrics (CPM) of automatic GGN detector reached 0.896. The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and area under curve (AUC) value of Attention-v1 structure are 85.2%, 83.7%, 86.3%, and 92.6%. The algorithm proposed in this paper outperforms ResNet and random forest in sensitivity, accuracy, and AUC value. The deep 3D-CNN's classification result is better than traditional machine learning method. Attention mechanism improves 3D-CNN's performance compared with the residual block. The automatic GGN detector with the addition of Attention-v1 can be used to construct the GGN invasiveness classification algorithm to help the patients and doctors in treatment. Many colleges in China have adopted the policy of recruiting students by academic subject categories in order to optimize the talent training mode. To solve the problems in major selection after enrollment, this paper has designed an intelligent algorithm model for recommending college majors. Compared with existing methods for assigning college majors, the model uses deep neural networks and clustering algorithms to simulate complex calculations in the human brain. It uses historical learning data from senior students or graduates to predict the future grades of freshmen, judge their adaptability to various college majors, reduce human interference in the college major selection process, recommend the most suitable college major to students. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is one of the most common types of cancers in South China and Southeast Asia. Clinical data has shown that early detection is essential for improving treatment effectiveness and survival rate. Unfortunately, because the early symptoms of NPC are rather minor and similar to that of diseases such as Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS), early detection is a challenge. This paper proposes using machine learning methods to detect NPC using routine medical test data, namely Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Artificial Neural Network (ANN), k-Nearest-Neighbor (KNN) and Logistic Regression (LR). We collected a dataset containing 523 newly diagnosed NPC patients before treatment, 501 newly diagnosed CRS patients before treatment as well as 600 healthy controls. The routine medical test data including age, gender, blood test features, liver function test features, and urine sediment test features. For comparison, we also used data from Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) antibody tests, which is a specialized test not included among routine medical tests. In our first test, all four methods were tested on classifying NPC vs CRS vs controls; RF gives the best overall performance. Using only routine medical test data, it gives an accuracy of 83.1%, outperforming LR by 12%. In our second test, using only routine medical test data, when classifying NPC vs non-NPC (i.e. CRS or controls), RF achieves an accuracy of 88.2%. In our third test, when classifying NPC vs. controls, RF using only routine test data achieves an accuracy significantly better than RF using only EBV antibody data. Finally, in our last test, RF trained with NPC vs controls, using routine test data only, continued to perform well on an entirely separate dataset. This is a promising result because preliminary NPC detection using routine medical data is easy and inexpensive to implement. Recent real medical datasets show that the number of outpatients in China has sharply increased since 2013, when the Chinese health insurance reform started. This situation leads to increased waiting time for the outpatients; in particular, the normal operation of a hospital will be congested at rush hour. The existence of this problem in outpatient departments causes a reduction in doctors’ diagnostic time, and a high working strength is required to address this issue. In this paper, a simultaneous model based on machine learning is proposed for aiding outpatient doctors in performing diagnoses. We use Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Neural Networks (NN) to classify hyperlipemia using the clinical features extracted from a real medical dataset. The results, with an accuracy of 90 %, indicate that our Simultaneously Aided Diagnosis Model (SADM) applied to aid diagnosis for outpatient doctors and achieves the objective of increasing efficiency and reducing working strength. Timely and accurate survey of construction and demolition waste (C&DW) distribution is of significance for managing C&DW and enhancing the quality of the urban environment, especially in rapidly urbanizing country of China. Automatic C&DW recognition using high-resolution remote sensing images is an extremely important surveying method. Existing C&DW recognition methods can only obtain a rough spatial distribution of C&DW. Mapping precise C&DW distribution on large-scale remote sensing images is still challenging. In this paper, to solve the problem of precise C&DW recognition, a novel deep learning algorithm based on high-resolution remote sensing images is proposed, which we refer to as the cross-channel multi-scale gated fusion network (CCMGNet). CCMGNet extracts depth features of C&DW from RGB and NIR bands by using two independent encoding streams. A gated fusion layer and a multi-scale attention module are designed to effectively fuse the features from two encoding streams. We manually labelled the sample set used for training and testing on 26 remote sensing images captured by the Gaofen-2 (GF-2) satellite. These images were taken in nine typical cities in China over the time period from 2019 to 2021. The results showed that the proposed method is effective in recognizing C&DW, realizing 89.42% and 84.52% in precision and IoU, and is superior to other state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms and existing C&DW recognition methods. The effectiveness of all significant components in CCMGNet was confirmed by ablation experiments. The proposed method was applied to extract C&DW regions in large-scale remote sensing images, with an example of a GF-2 image of Beijing. The high extraction efficiency and satisfactory visual effect demonstrate the potential of the proposed method for surveying the spatial distribution of C&DW. There are many thyroid diseases affecting people all over the world. Many diseases affect the thyroid gland, like hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, and thyroid cancer. Thyroid inefficiency can cause severe symptoms in patients. Effective classification and machine learning play a significant role in the timely detection of thyroid diseases. This timely classification will indeed affect the timely treatment of the patients. Automatic and precise thyroid nodule detection in ultrasound pictures is critical for reducing effort and radiologists' mistake rate. Medical images have evolved into one of the most valuable and consistent data sources for machine learning generation. In this paper, various machine learning algorithms like decision tree, random forest algorithm, KNN, and artificial neural networks on the dataset create a comparative analysis to better predict the disease based on parameters established from the dataset. Also, the dataset has been manipulated for accurate prediction for the classification. The classification was performed on both the sampled and unsampled datasets for better comparison of the dataset. This paper develops a hierarchical deep learning machine (HDLM) to efficiently achieve both quantitative and qualitative online transient stability prediction (TSP). For the sake of improving its online efficiency, multiple generators’ fault-on trajectories as well as the two closest data-points in pre-/post-fault stages are acquired by PMUs to form its raw inputs. An anti-noise graphical transient characterization technique is tactfully designed to transform multiplex trajectories into 2-D images, within which system-wide transients are concisely described. Then, following the divide-and-conquer philosophy, the HDLM trains a two-level convolutional neural network (CNN) based regression model. With stability margin regressions hierarchically refined, it manages to perform reliable and adaptive online TSP almost immediately after fault clearance. Test results on the IEEE 39-bus test system and the real-world Guangdong Power Grid in South China demonstrate the HDLM's superior performances on both stability status and stability margin predictions. Extraterrestrial solar radiation (ESR) is the essential basic background for solar radiation, which determines the occurrence of the weather and atmospheric phenomena. Since the influence of ESR variation on actual rugged terrain is a diverse, complex, and dynamic process, simulating ESR over a large spatial-temporal span, especially with a high-resolution digital elevation model (DEM), is a significant challenge. In this paper, we developed a new scheme for simulating ESR over the entirety of China using a DEM with a resolution of 30 m. To fully consider regional terrain status, the feature variables used were elevation, slope, and aspects of the located grid and the surrounding four grids to reveal the topography. In addition, latitude was used as a feature variable to consider the geographical location, and the month number was used to consider the duration. On the basis of different geographical locations, the training dataset was established from 20,000 grids. With the feature variable composition and training dataset, a backpropagation artificial neural network (BP ANN) was found to have the best performance compared with the other three machine learning methods in simulating ESR for a DEM. In terms of the proposed scheme and BP ANN, we drew an ESR map of China with a resolution of 30 m. The determination coefficient of the simulation result achieved 0.99 and the root-mean-square error was less than 50 MJ/m2 in all sample areas, confirming its remarkable accuracy. In terms of efficiency, the time consumption of ESR simulated using the proposed scheme shrinks over 150 times in all sample areas compared to that simulated via the theoretical model. Simultaneously, the developed scheme was also used to simulate an ESR for a DEM with a resolution of 90 m to verify the universality and robustness of the developed scheme. In addition, we used the proposed scheme to derive the direct solar radiation and global solar radiation, thereby further proving the reliability and applicability of our study. Overall, our work convincingly proved that the proposed scheme is a potential and effective approach for quickly simulating ESR with high accuracy. This study provides the basis for different solar radiation inversions of long time series and large spatial scales, offering additional insights for simulating ESR on a large spatial-temporal span. The COD Mn is one of the crucial indicators of lake water quality and is commonly utilized to gauge the extent of organic pollution in lake water. Therefore, this paper selected COD Mn as the research object and used the water quality monitoring data of Changdang Lake in China and its upstream and downstream to predict the COD Mn concentration in the lake. In order to study the spatial relationship between the lake and upstream and downstream water quality, reflect the joint action of multiple water quality factors in prediction and the interaction between different feature factors. This study combined the XGBoost feature filtering algorithm, maximum mutual information coefficient (MIC), and improved recurrent neural network (GRU) and proposes a hybrid model called XGB-MIC-GRU. The model first used XGBoost to screen and extract the relative importance of water quality characteristics and used the Shapley addition extension (SHAP) method to explain XGBoost feature extraction. Then, the correlation between the lake and the upstream and downstream water quality is calculated through MIC analysis. Finally, the selected water quality factor characteristics and spatial characteristics are input into the GRU model for prediction. The experimental results showed that water temperature, total phosphorus, and total nitrogen are the most important to COD Mn , and the upstream US1 and downstream DS1 and DS2 stations are the most closely related to the concentration of COD Mn in the lake. By comparing the prediction effect of the model in different time steps, the best 16-time steps related data were selected to predict the value of the next time. MAE, RMSE, and R2 of the model are 0.10, 0.13, and 0.96, respectively. The model has better prediction accuracy and correlation error than the traditional SVR and GPR. The proposed mixed model can accurately predict the concentration of COD Mn in the lake. It can assist decision-makers in timely implementation of effective measures to safeguard the lake ecosystem. The economic environment has changed dramatically around the world in recent years, generating favorable conditions for the growth of small- and medium-sized firms. The socioeconomic development and international integration of China are greatly influenced by the growth in both quality and quantity, the scale of operations, and the internal force of small- and medium-sized businesses. Moreover, in comparison with other developed countries around the world, Chinese small- and medium-sized enterprises continue to face many limitations in terms of size and contribution levels and have not yet fully realized their potentials due to difficulties and poor quality; human resources in this field are still lacking. This study defines the current state of human resources in small and medium firms, the factors that impede development, and the steps that can be taken to overcome these obstacles in order to assist human resource development in this sector during the current period. This study uses machine learning (ML) techniques to manage and analyze human resource data in modern enterprises. The ML techniques realize the functions of the human resource system and reduce the business volume in human resource in order to improve the efficiency and management of the human resource work. In this paper, we designed and implemented the wage forecasting model in human resources that uses a gradient descent algorithm, its types, and backpropagation (BP) neural network to improve the accuracy of the forecasting model. We performed multiple experiments by using a various number of neurons in the hidden layers, different number of iterations, and several types of gradient descent algorithms. The BP neural network model was performed brilliantly by attaining the training accuracy of 89.98% and validation accuracy of 84.05%. Chinese Sign Language (CSL) offers the main means of communication for the hearing impaired in China. Sign Language Recognition (SLR) can shorten the distance between the hearing-impaired and healthy people and help them integrate into the society. Therefore, SLR has become the focus of sign language application research. Over the years, the continuous development of new technologies provides a source and motivation for SLR. This paper aims to cover the most recent approaches in Chinese Sign Language Recognition (CSLR). With a thorough review of superior methods from 2000 to 2019 in CSLR researches, various techniques and algorithms such as scale-invariant feature transform, histogram of oriented gradients, wavelet entropy, Hu moment invariant, Fourier descriptor, gray-level co-occurrence matrix, dynamic time warping, principal component analysis, autoencoder, hidden Markov model (HMM), support vector machine (SVM), random forest, skin color modeling method, k-NN, artificial neural network, convolutional neural network (CNN), and transfer learning are discussed in detail, which are based on several major stages, that is, data acquisition, preprocessing, feature extraction, and classification. CSLR was summarized from some aspect as follows: methods of classification and feature extraction, accuracy/performance evaluation, and sample size/datasets. The advantages and limitations of different CSLR approaches were compared. It was found that data acquisition is mainly through Kinect and camera, and the feature extraction focuses on hand's shape and spatiotemporal factors, but ignoring facial expressions. HMM and SVM are used most in the classification. CNN is becoming more and more popular, and a deep neural network-based recognition approach will be the future trend. However, due to the complexity of the contemporary Chinese language, CSLR generally has a lower accuracy than other SLR. It is necessary to establish an appropriate dataset to conduct comparable experiments. The issue of decreasing accuracy as the dataset increases needs to resolve. Energy piles have attracted much attention in recent years because they provide a profitable solution for efficient shallow geothermal energy utilization in different climatic regions. However, the long-term performance design of energy piles under different thermal scenarios currently relies on time-consuming and computationally expensive methods such as numerical simulations, which seriously hinders the further engineering application of energy piles. To this end, this paper provides a high-precision and computationally efficient model for predicting the long-term performance of energy pile design through an artificial neural network machine learning process. First, experimentally validated numerical models are developed. Then, they are utilized to generate the training and evaluate datasets for the proposed model by inputting sixty typical thermal load distributions in different regions of China. Finally, the performance of the proposed model is evaluated by comparing its calculations with those obtained using numerical models. The results show that the proposed model can predict the long-term performance of energy piles and enrich the current methods for the long-term design of energy piles. Text clustering plays an important role in data mining and machine learning. After years of development, clustering technology has produced a series of theories and methods. However, in the text clustering of Chinese news, the mainstream LDA method suffers a high time complex. In order to improve the speed, this paper puts forward a new method in which neural network language model is first applied to text clustering. Text clustering is first converted to its dual problem called word clustering. With neural network language model, we can get word vector which can be used in the fuzzy k-means of the Chinese news keyword set. Based on the keyword clustering result, we can get text clustering result of Chinese news by a single transition. Experiments have show this method's running speed is five times faster than LDA. Cyclic air braking is a key element for ensuring safe train operation when running on a long and steep downhill railway section. In reality, the cyclic braking performance of a train is affected by its operating environment, speed and air-refilling time. Existing optimization algorithms have the problem of low learning efficiency. To solve this problem, an intelligent control method based on the deep Q-network (DQN) algorithm for heavy-haul trains running on long and steep downhill railway sections is proposed. Firstly, the environment of heavy-haul train operation is designed by considering the line characteristics, speed limits and constraints of the train pipe's air-refilling time. Secondly, the control process of heavy-haul trains running on long and steep downhill sections is described as the reinforcement learning (RL) of a Markov decision process. By designing the critical elements of RL, a cyclic braking strategy for heavy-haul trains is established based on the reinforcement learning algorithm. Thirdly, the deep neural network and Q-learning are combined to design a neural network for approximating the action value function so that the algorithm can achieve the optimal action value function faster. Finally, simulation experiments are conducted on the actual track data pertaining to the Shuozhou–Huanghua line in China to compare the performance of the Q-learning algorithm against the DQN algorithm. Our findings revealed that the DQN-based intelligent control strategy decreased the air braking distance by 2.1% and enhanced the overall average speed by more than 7%. The objective of this paper is to develop an approach to forecast the outdoor atmospheric corrosion rate of low alloy steels and do corrosion-knowledge mining by using a Random Forests algorithm as a mining tool. We collected the corrosion data of 17 low alloy steels under 6 atmospheric corrosion test stations in China over 16 years as the experimental datasets. Based on the datasets, a Random Forests model is established to implement the purpose of the corrosion rate prediction and data-mining. The results showed that the random forests can achieve the best generalization results compared to the commonly used machine learning methods such as the artificial neural network, support vector regression, and logistic regression. In addition, the results also showed that regarding the effect to the corrosion rate, environmental factors contributed more than chemical compositions in the low alloy steels, but as exposure time increases, the effect of the environmental factors will gradually become less. Furthermore, we give the effect changes of six environmental factors (Cl− concentration, SO2 concentration, relative humidity, temperature, rainfall, and pH) on corrosion with exposure time increasing, and the results illustrated that pH had a significant contribution to the corrosion of the entire process. The paper also dealt with the problem of the corrosion rate forecast, especially for changing environmental factors situations, and obtained the qualitative and quantitative results of influences of each environmental factor on corrosion. In machine learning driven surface inspection one often faces the issue that defects to be detected are difficult to make available for training, especially when pixel-wise labeling is required. Therefore, supervised approaches are not feasible in many cases. In this paper, this issue is circumvented by injecting synthetized defects into fault-free surface images. In this way, a fully convolutional neural network was trained for pixel-accurate defect detection on decorated plastic parts, reaching a pixel-wise PRC score of 78% compared to 8% that was reached by a state-of-the-art unsupervised anomaly detection method. Aftershocks can cause disasters again after mainshocks, which result in threat to life and economic loss. In order to avoid secondary disasters, it is necessary to predict whether aftershocks would happen in a given region. There have been studies using different features and methods to predict aftershocks spatial distribution. However, it is still unclear which are more important for aftershock prediction, input features or models; which type of features is more predictive for the prediction task. In this paper, we predict aftershock spatial distribution by combining different types of features and applying different machine learning methods. We introduce five different types of features and combine them together for prediction: the stress change sensors, their logarithmic values, the physical quantities, the magnitude of mainshocks, and the distance between the grid cell and the epicenter of mainshocks. We train different classifiers: Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machine,Gradient Boosting Decision Tree, k-Nearest Neighbors, Logistic regression, and DMAP (a Deep Neural Network model). Based on the 62,811 aftershocks of 171 distinct mainshocks in the past about 40 years in China, we conduct comprehensive experiments and analyses. We find that features play a more important role for this prediction task. Using the same feature type, different classifiers obtain quite similar performance. With different features, the same model performs differently. Taking the combined features as input, we achieve the state-of-the-art performance, with an AUC of 0.9530, about 4% higher than that of DeVries et al., showing the superiority of the combined features. Among all the features, adding the distance to the stress change sensors contributes the most to improve the prediction performance. Objectives: This study aimed to analyze publications on artificial intelligence (AI) for falls in older people from a bibliometric perspective. Methods: The Web of Science database was searched for titles of English‐language articles containing the words "artificial intelligence," "deep learning," "machine learning," "natural language processing,", "neural artificial network," "fall," "geriatric," "elderly," "aging," "older," and "old age." An R‐based application (Biblioshiny for bibliometrics) and VOSviewer software were used for analysis. Results: Thirty‐seven English articles published between 2018 and 2024 were included. The year 2023 is the year with the most publications with 16 articles. The most productive research field was "Engineering Electrical Electronic" with seven articles. The most productive country was the United States, followed by China. The most common words were "injuries," "people," and "risk factors." Conclusion: Publications on AI and falls in the elderly are both few in number and the number of publications has increased in recent years. Today, China is facing a very serious issue of Air Pollution due to its dreadful impact on the human health as well as the environment. The urban cities in China are the most affected due to their rapid industrial and economic growth. Therefore, it is of extreme importance to come up with new, better and more reliable forecasting models to accurately predict the air quality. This paper selected Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang as three cities from the Jingjinji Region for the study to come up with a new model of collaborative forecasting using Support Vector Regression (SVR) for Urban Air Quality Index (AQI) prediction in China. The present study is aimed to improve the forecasting results by minimizing the prediction error of present machine learning algorithms by taking into account multiple city multi-dimensional air quality information and weather conditions as input. The results show that there is a decrease in MAPE in case of multiple city multi-dimensional regression when there is a strong interaction and correlation of the air quality characteristic attributes with AQI. Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) caused millions of confirmed cases and deaths worldwide since first appeared in China. Forecasting methods are essential to take precautions early and control the spread of this rapidly expanding pandemic. Therefore, in this research, a new customized hybrid model consisting of Back Propagation-Based Artificial Neural Network (BP-ANN), Correlated Additive Model (CAM) and Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) models were developed for the purpose of forecast Covid-19 prevalence in Brazil, US, Russia and India. The Covid-19 dataset is obtained from the World Health Organization website from 22 January, 2020 to 6 January, 2021. Various parameters were tested to select the best ARIMA models for these countries based on the lowest MAPE values (5.21, 11.42, 1.45, 2.72) for Brazil, the US, Russia and India, respectively. On the other hand, the proposed BP-ANN model itself provided less satisfactory MAPE values. Finally, the developed new customized hybrid model was achieved to obtain the best MAPE results (4.69, 6.4, 0.63, 2.25) for forecasting Covid-19 prevalence in Brazil, the US, Russia and India, respectively. Those results emphasize the validity of our hybrid model. Background: The probability of heart failure during the perioperative period is 2% on average and it is as high as 17% when accompanied by cardiovascular diseases in China. It has been the most significant cause of postoperative death of patients. However, the patient is managed by the flow of information during the operation, but a lot of clinical information can make it difficult for medical staff to identify the information relevant to patient care. There are major practical and technical barriers to understand perioperative complications.Methods: In this work, we present three machine learning methods to estimate risks of heart failure, which extract intraoperative vital signs monitoring data into different modal representations (statistical learning representation, text learning representation, image learning representation). Firstly, we extracted features of vital signs monitoring data of surgical patients by statistical analysis. Secondly, the vital signs data is converted into text information by Piecewise Approximate Aggregation (PAA) and Symbolic Aggregate Approximation (SAX), then Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model is used to extract text topics of patients for heart failure prediction. Thirdly, the vital sign monitoring time series data of the surgical patient is converted into a grid image by using the grid representation, and then the convolutional neural network is directly used to identify the grid image for heart failure prediction. We evaluated the proposed methods in the monitoring data of real patients during the perioperative period.Results: In this paper, the results of our experiment demonstrate the Gradient Boosting Decision Tree (GBDT) classifier achieves the best results in the prediction of heart failure by statistical feature representation. The sensitivity, specificity and the area under the curve (AUC) of the best method can reach 83, 85 and 84% respectively.Conclusions: The experimental results demonstrate that representation learning model of vital signs monitoring data of intraoperative patients can effectively capture the physiological characteristics of postoperative heart failure. The application of machine learning (ML) techniques stands as a reliable method for aiding in the diagnosis of complex diseases. Recent studies have related the composition of the gut microbiota to the presence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), but until now, the results have been mostly contradictory. This work proposes using machine learning to study the gut microbiome composition and its role in the early diagnosis of ASD. We applied support vector machines (SVMs), artificial neural networks (ANNs), and random forest (RF) algorithms to classify subjects as neurotypical (NT) or having ASD, using published data on gut microbiome composition. Naive Bayes, k-nearest neighbors, ensemble learning, logistic regression, linear regression, and decision trees were also trained and validated; however, the ones presented showed the best performance and interpretability. All the ML methods were developed using the SAS Viya software platform. The microbiome's composition was determined using 16S rRNA sequencing technology. The application of ML yielded a classification accuracy as high as 90%, with a sensitivity of 96.97% and specificity reaching 85.29%. In the case of the ANN model, no errors occurred when classifying NT subjects from the first dataset, indicating a significant classification outcome compared to traditional tests and data-based approaches. This approach was repeated with two datasets, one from the USA and the other from China, resulting in similar findings. The main predictors in the obtained models differ between the analyzed datasets. The most important predictors identified from the analyzed datasets are Bacteroides, Lachnospira, Anaerobutyricum, and Ruminococcus torques. Notably, among the predictors in each model, there is the presence of bacteria that are usually considered insignificant in the microbiome's composition due to their low relative abundance. This outcome reinforces the conventional understanding of the microbiome's influence on ASD development, where an imbalance in the composition of the microbiota can lead to disrupted host–microbiota homeostasis. Considering that several previous studies focused on the most abundant genera and neglected smaller (and frequently not statistically significant) microbial communities, the impact of such communities has been poorly analyzed. The ML-based models suggest that more research should focus on these less abundant microbes. A novel hypothesis explains the contradictory results in this field and advocates for more in-depth research to be conducted on variables that may not exhibit statistical significance. The obtained results seem to contribute to an explanation of the contradictory findings regarding ASD and its relation with gut microbiota composition. While some research correlates higher ratios of Bacillota/Bacteroidota, others find the opposite. These discrepancies are closely linked to the minority organisms in the microbiome's composition, which may differ between populations but share similar metabolic functions. The accurate and timely estimation of regional crop biomass at different growth stages is of great importance in guiding crop management decision making. The recent availability of long time series of remote sensing data offers opportunities for crop monitoring. In this paper, four machine learning models, namely random forest (RF), support vector machine (SVM), artificial neural network (ANN), and extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) were adopted to estimate the seasonal corn biomass based on field observation data and moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) reflectance data from 2012 to 2019 in the middle reaches of the Heihe River basin, China. Nine variables were selected with the forward feature selection approach from among twenty-seven variables potentially influencing corn biomass: soil-adjusted total vegetation index (SATVI), green ratio vegetation index (GRVI), Nadir_B7 (2105–2155 nm), Nadir_B6 (1628–1652 nm), land surface water index (LSWI), normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), Nadir_B4 (545–565 nm), and Nadir_B3 (459–479 nm). The results indicated that the corn biomass was suitably estimated (the coefficient of determination (R2) was between 0.72 and 0.78) with the four machine learning models. The XGBoost model performed better than the other three models (R2 = 0.78, root mean squared error (RMSE) = 2.86 t/ha and mean absolute error (MAE) = 1.86 t/ha). Moreover, the RF model was an effective method (R2 = 0.77, RMSE = 2.91 t/ha and MAE = 1.91 t/ha), with a performance comparable to that of the XGBoost model. This study provides a reference for estimating crop biomass from MOD43A4 datasets. Background: AIDS is a worrying public health issue in China and lacks timely and effective surveillance. With the diffusion and adoption of the Internet, the ‘big data’ aggregated from Internet search engines, which contain users’ information on the concern or reality of their health status, provide a new opportunity for AIDS surveillance. This paper uses search engine data to monitor and forecast AIDS in China. Methods: A machine learning method, artificial neural networks (ANNs), is used to forecast AIDS incidences and deaths. Search trend data related to AIDS from the largest Chinese search engine, Baidu.com, are collected and selected as the input variables of ANNs, and officially reported actual AIDS incidences and deaths are used as the output variable. Three criteria, the mean absolute percentage error, the root mean squared percentage error, and the index of agreement, are used to test the forecasting performance of the ANN method. Results: Based on the monthly time series data from January 2011 to June 2017, this article finds that, under the three criteria, the ANN method can lead to satisfactory forecasting of AIDS incidences and deaths, regardless of the change in the number of search queries. Conclusions: Despite the inability to self-detect HIV/AIDS through online searching, Internet-based data should be adopted as a timely, cost-effective complement to a traditional AIDS surveillance system. Aim: To develop and validate models based on logistic regression and artificial intelligence for prognostic prediction of molar survival in periodontally affected patients. Materials and Methods: Clinical and radiographic data from four different centres across four continents (two in Europe, one in the United States, and one in China) including 515 patients and 3157 molars were collected and used to train and test different types of machine‐learning algorithms for their prognostic ability of molar loss over 10 years. The following models were trained: logistic regression, support vector machine, K‐nearest neighbours, decision tree, random forest, artificial neural network, gradient boosting, and naive Bayes. In addition, different models were aggregated by means of the ensembled stacking method. The primary outcome of the study was related to the prediction of overall molar loss (MLO) in patients after active periodontal treatment. Results: The general performance in the external validation settings (aggregating three cohorts) revealed that the ensembled model, which combined neural network and logistic regression, showed the best performance among the different models for the prediction of MLO with an area under the curve (AUC) = 0.726. The neural network model showed the best AUC of 0.724 for the prediction of periodontitis‐related molar loss. In addition, the ensembled model showed the best calibration performance. Conclusions: Through a multi‐centre collaboration, both prognostic models for the prediction of molar loss were developed and externally validated. The ensembled model showed the best performance in terms of both discrimination and validation, and it is made freely available to clinicians for widespread use in clinical practice. The accurate determination of methane adsorption isotherms in coals is crucial for both the evaluation of underground coalbed methane (CBM) reserves and design of development strategies for enhancing CBM recovery. However, the experimental measurement of high-pressure methane adsorption isotherms is extremely tedious and time-consuming. This paper proposed the use of an ensemble machine learning (ML) method, namely the gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT), in order to accurately estimate methane adsorption isotherms based on coal properties in the Qinshui basin, China. The GBDT method was trained to correlate the adsorption amount with coal properties (ash, fixed carbon, moisture, vitrinite, and vitrinite reflectance) and experimental conditions (pressure, equilibrium moisture, and temperature). The results show that the estimated adsorption amounts agree well with the experimental ones, which prove the accuracy and robustness of the GBDT method. A comparison of the GBDT with two commonly used ML methods, namely the artificial neural network (ANN) and support vector machine (SVM), confirms the superiority of GBDT in terms of generalization capability and robustness. Furthermore, relative importance scanning and univariate analysis based on the constructed GBDT model were conducted, which showed that the fixed carbon and ash contents are primary factors that significantly affect the adsorption isotherms for the coal samples in this study. Purpose: The common cause of blindness in people with type 2 diabetes (T2D) is diabetic retinopathy (DR). Early fundus examinations have been shown to prevent vision loss, but routine ophthalmic screenings for patients with diabetes present significant financial and material challenges to existing health-care systems. The purpose of this study is to build a DR prediction model based on the extreme learning machine (ELM) and to compare the performance with the DR prediction models based on support machine vector (SVM), K proximity (KNN), random forest (RF) and artificial neural network (ANN). Methods: From January 1, 2020 to November 31, 2021, data were collected from electronic inpatient medical records at Lu'an Hospital of Anhui Medical University in China. An extreme learning machine (ELM) algorithm was used to develop a prediction model based on demographic data and blood testing and urine test results. Several metrics were used to evaluate the model's performance: (1) classification accuracy (ACC), (2) sensitivity, (3) specificity, (4) Precision,(5) Negative predictive value (NPV), (6) Training time and (7) area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC). Results: In terms of ACC, Sensitivity, Specificity, Precision, NPV and AUC, DR prediction model based on SVM and ELM is better than DR prediction model based on ANN, KNN and RF. The prediction model for diabetic retinopathy based on elm is the best among them in terms of ACC, Precision, Specificity, Training time and AUC, with 84.45%, 83.93%, 93.16%,1.24s, and 88.34%, respectively. The DR prediction model based on SVM is the best in terms of sensitivity and NPV, which are, respectively, 70.82% and 85.60%. Conclusion: According to the findings of this study, the model based on the extreme learning machine presents an outstanding performance in predicting diabetic retinopathy thus providing technological assistance for screening of diabetic retinopathy. As a result, in order to better understand the audience's emotional tendencies and needs, it is necessary to carry out sentiment analysis and deep semantic mining of animated film reviews. As the evaluation of film works considers many factors and is complex and variable, the choice of model is crucial in the process of sentiment analysis. Machine learning models represented by deep neural networks are more tolerant of sentence noise and have strong information discrimination and feature self-learning capabilities. Volleyball has not developed widely in society nor has it become a common event in people's daily life. Therefore, the development of volleyball in China lags behind. Unlike other sports, volleyball requires both strong skills and playing tactics. While taking into account the technical and tactical aspects, the requirements for the comprehensive quality and learning ability of both sides of the teaching are relatively strict. Due to the advantage of geostationary satellites, Himawari-8/AHI can provide near-real-time air quality monitoring over China with a high temporal resolution. Satellite-based aerosol optical depth (AOD) retrieval over land is a challenge because of the large surface contribution to the top of atmosphere (TOA) signal and the uncertainty of aerosol modes. Here, by combining satellite TOA reflectance, sun-sensor geometries, meteorological factors and vegetation information, we propose a data-driven AOD detection algorithm based on a deep neural network (DNN) model for Himawari-8/AHI. It is trained by sample data of 2018 and 2019 and is applied to derive hourly AODs over China in 2020. By comparison with ground-based AERONET measurements, R2 for DNN-estimated AOD is up to 0.8702, which is much higher than that for the AHI AOD product with R2 = 0.4869. The hourly AOD results indicate that the DNN model has a good potential in improving the performance of AOD retrieval in the early morning and in the late afternoon, and the spatial distribution is reliable for capturing the variation of aerosol pollution on the regional scale. By analyzing different DNN modeling strategies, it is found that seasonal modeling can hardly increase the accuracy of AOD retrieval to a certain extent, and R2 increases from 0.7394 to 0.8168 when meteorological features, especially air pressure, are involved in the model training. Mapping of groundwater distribution potential over space, built by synergizing environmental variables and machine learning models, was of great significance for regional water resources management. A total of 245 wells were identified based on field survey in the Chihe River basin in Anhui province, out of which 172 wells locations were randomly used for training the machine models and the other 73 wells for validation process of machine models. Thirteen environmental variables including elevation, slope, slope aspect, plan curvature, profile curvature, topographic wetness index (TWI), drainage density, distance to rivers, distance to faults, lithology, soil type, land use, and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) were used to build the spatial database of this research. Three GIS-based machine learning models were used for mapping the groundwater distribution potential: logistic regression (LR), deep neural networks (DNN) and random forest (RF). Then, the applicability of those models was evaluated by the evaluation index of mean absolute error (MAE), root mean square error (RMSE) and correlation coefficient (R). The final results indicated that the potential of regional groundwater distribution is concentrated in moderate to high potential areas. Among them, the moderate to the high potential distribution area in the LR model accounted for 81.14% of the total area, 90.36% and 87.55% in the DNN model and the RF model, respectively. In addition, three machine learning models can be implemented for prediction of groundwater distribution based on the three evaluation indexes, among which the LR model performs more prominently. The good prediction capabilities of machine learning technologies can provide a reliable scientific basis for spatial prediction of groundwater distribution and management of water resources. Snow depth estimation with passive microwave (PM) remote sensing is challenged by spatial variations in the Earth's surface, e.g., snow metamorphism, land cover types, and topography. Thus, traditional static snow depth retrieval algorithms cannot capture snow thickness well. In this study, we present a new operational retrieval algorithm, hereafter referred to as the pixel-based method (0.25° × 0.25° grid-level), to provide more accurate and nearly real-time snow depth estimates. First, the reference snow depth was retrieved using a previously proposed model in which a microwave snow emission model was coupled with a machine learning (ML) approach. In this process, an effective grain size (effGS) value was optimized by utilizing the snow microwave emission model, and then the nonlinear relationship between snow depth and multiple predictive variables, e.g., effGS, longitude, elevation, and brightness temperature (Tb) gradients, was established with the ML technique to retrieve reference snow depth data. To select a robust and well-performing ML approach, we compared the performance of widely used support vector regression (SVR), artificial neural network (ANN) and random forest (RF) algorithms over China. The results show that the three ML models performed similarly in snow depth estimation, which was attributed to the inclusion of effGS in the training samples. In this study, the RF model was used to retrieve the snow depth reference dataset due to its slightly stronger robustness according to our comparison of results. Second, the pixel-based algorithm was built based on the retrieved reference snow depth dataset and satellite Tb observations (18.7 GHz and 36.5 GHz) from Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer 2 (AMSR2) during the 2012–2020 period. For the pixel-based algorithm, the fitting coefficients were achieved dynamically pixel by pixel, making it superior to the traditional static methods. Third, the built pixel-based algorithm was verified using ground-based observations and was compared to the AMSR2, GlobSnow-v3.0, and ERA5-land products during the 2012–2020 period. The pixel-based algorithm exhibited an overall unbiased root mean square error (unRMSE) and R2 of 5.8 cm and 0.65, respectively, outperforming GlobSnow-v3.0, with unRMSE and R2 values of 9.2 cm and 0.22, AMSR2, with unRMSE and R2 values of 18.5 cm and 0.13, and ERA5-land, with unRMSE and R2 values of 10.5 cm and 0.33, respectively. However, the pixel-based algorithm estimates were still challenged by the complex terrain, e.g., the unRMSE was up to 17.4 cm near the Tien Shan Mountains. The proposed pixel-based algorithm in this study is a simple and operational method that can retrieve accurate snow depths based solely on spaceborne PM data in comparatively flat areas. Runoff prediction plays an extremely important role in flood prevention, mitigation, and the efficient use of water resources. Machine learning runoff prediction models have become popular due to their high computational efficiency. To select a model with a better runoff simulation and to validate the stability of the model, the following studies were done. Firstly, the support vector machine Model (SVM), the Elman Neural Network Model (ENN), and the multi-model mean model (MMM) were used for the runoff prediction, with the monthly runoff data from 1963–2007 recorded by the Pingtang hydrological station in the Chengbi River Karst Basin, China. Secondly, the comprehensive rating index method was applied to select the best model. Thirdly, the indicators of the hydrologic alteration–range of variability approach (IHA-RVA) was introduced to measure the model stability with different data structure inputs. According to the comprehensive rating index method, the SVM model outperformed the other models and was the best runoff prediction model with a score of 0.53. With the deployment of 5G Internet of Things (IoT) in the power system, the efficiency of smart grid is improved by increasing two-way interactions in different layers in smart grid. However, it introduces more attack interfaces that the traditional information security system in smart grid cannot response in time. The neuroscience-inspired models have shown their effectiveness in solving security and optimization problems in smart grid. How to improve the security mechanism in smart grid while taking into account the optimization of data transmission efficiency using neuroscience-inspired algorithms is the problem to be solved in this study. Therefore, an information security system based on artificial neural network (ANN) and improved multiple protection model is proposed. Based on the ANN algorithm, the link state sample space is used to train the model to obtain the optimal transmission path in 5G power communication network. Integrating the intelligent link state module, the zero-trust security protection platform using case-based learning algorithm is designed and taken as the first protection, the network security logical isolation facility is taken as the second protection, and the forward and backward isolation facilities are set as the third protection to achieve the strengthened security of 5G IoT in smart grid. The experimental results show the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed algorithms. In addition, the experimental results also show that the proposed system can resist malicious terminal access, terminal hijacking, data tampering and eavesdropping, protocol fuzzy, and denial-of-service attacks, so as to reduce the security risks of 5G IoT in smart grid. Since the proposed system can be easily integrated into the existing smart grid structure in China, the proposed system can provide a reference for the design and implementation of 5G IoT in smart grid. Displacement prediction plays a significant role in the landslide disaster early warning. However, landslide deformation is a complex nonlinear dynamic process, posing difficulties in the displacement prediction especially for the commonly used static models. This study applies an advanced deep machine learning method called gated recurrent unit (GRU) to the displacement prediction of the Jiuxianping landslide, which is a typical reservoir landslide located in the Yunyang County of Chongqing, China. Results show that the GRU-based approach is able to portray the variation of the periodic displacement in the testing dataset with fewer outliers. Although both the artificial neural network (ANN) and random forest regression (RFR) can capture the variation tendency of data points in the training dataset, they are unable to predict the local peaks well in the testing dataset. For the multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS), the deformation characteristics of the periodic displacement curve cannot be well captured, and the overall predictive performance is unsatisfactory. Different from the three static models, the GRU model is essentially a dynamic model making full use of the historical information, which can portray the deformation characteristics of the Jiuxianping landslide rationally. Energy efficiency of data centers (DCs) is of great concern due to their large amount of energy consumption and the foreseeable growth in the demand of digital services in the future. The past decade witnessed improvements of the energy efficiency of DCs from an extensive margin—a shift from small to large, more efficient DCs. Improvements from the intensive margin, that is, from more efficient operation, would be critical in limiting the energy consumption and environmental impact of DCs in the upcoming period. Machine learning algorithms have advantages in optimizing the operation of DCs to improve energy efficiency as they have shown the potential of discovering control strategies not found by traditional method, and producing working condition‐dependent control strategies. This study proposes ready‐to‐use machine learning methods with practical details to decrease the most commonly used energy efficiency metric—power usage effectiveness in DCs. We achieved an accurate prediction by properly selecting the features used in the proposed prediction models established by neural network, light gradient boosting machine, recurrent neural network, and random forests. The proposed approaches are implemented in one of the largest hyperscale DCs in China—Tencent Tianjin DC, to optimize the set points of controllable variables in the cooling system and to detect and adjust the unreasonable working conditions in the modular data centers. The lower bound of PUE reduction was 0.005 with the proposed approaches, leading to about 1500 MWh (0.24% of the total designed electricity consumption of this DC) of energy saved per year in this hyperscale DC. The proposed methods have the potential to be transferred to DCs of similar scale, and the framework of our work could serve as a guide for machine learning‐based optimization of environmental indicators in other complex product/service systems. This article uses a combination of theoretical research and empirical research, based on the views and research content of some scholars in recent years, and introduces the basic framework and research content of this article. Then, deep learning algorithms are used to analyze the experimental data. Data analysis is performed, and relevant concepts of deep learning algorithms are combined. This article focuses on exploring the construction of an IAE (innovation and entrepreneurship) education platform and making full use of the role of deep learning algorithms to realize the construction of innovation and entrepreneurship platforms. Traditional methods need to extract features through manual design, then perform feature classification, and finally realize the function of recognition. The deep learning algorithm has strong data image processing capabilities and can quickly process large-scale data. Rainfall prediction is of vital importance in water resources management. Accurate long‐term rainfall prediction remains an open and challenging problem. Machine learning techniques, as an increasingly popular approach, provide an attractive alternative to traditional methods. The main objective of this study was to improve the prediction accuracy of machine learning‐based methods for monthly rainfall, and to improve the understanding of the role of large‐scale climatic variables and local meteorological variables in rainfall prediction. One regression model autoregressive integrated moving average model (ARIMA) and five state‐of‐the‐art machine learning algorithms, including artificial neural networks, support vector machine, random forest (RF), gradient boosting regression, and dual‐stage attention‐based recurrent neural network, were implemented for monthly rainfall prediction over 25 stations in the East China region. The results showed that the ML models outperformed ARIMA model, and RF relatively outperformed other models. Local meteorological variables, humidity, and sunshine duration, were the most important predictors in improving prediction accuracy. 4‐month lagged Western North Pacific Monsoon had higher importance than other large‐scale climatic variables. Abstract: Harmful algal blooms, which are considered a serious environmental problem nowadays, occur in coastal waters in many parts of the world. They cause acute ecological damage and ensuing economic losses, due to fish kills and shellfish poisoning as well as public health threats posed by toxic blooms. Recently, data-driven models including machine-learning (ML) techniques have been employed to mimic dynamics of algal blooms. One of the most important steps in the application of a ML technique is the selection of significant model input variables. In the present paper, we use two extensively used ML techniques, artificial neural networks (ANN) and genetic programming (GP) for selecting the significant input variables. The efficacy of these techniques is first demonstrated on a test problem with known dependence and then they are applied to a real-world case study of water quality data from Tolo Harbour, Hong Kong. These ML techniques overcome some of the limitations of the currently used techniques for input variable selection, a review of which is also presented. The interpretation of the weights of the trained ANN and the GP evolved equations demonstrate their ability to identify the ecologically significant variables precisely. The significant variables suggested by the ML techniques also indicate chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) itself to be the most significant input in predicting the algal blooms, suggesting an auto-regressive nature or persistence in the algal bloom dynamics, which may be related to the long flushing time in the semi-enclosed coastal waters. The study also confirms the previous understanding that the algal blooms in coastal waters of Hong Kong often occur with a life cycle of the order of 1–2 weeks. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

The Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission provides satellite precipitation products with an unprecedented spatiotemporal resolution and spatial coverage. However, its near-real-time (NRT) product still suffers from low accuracy. This study aims to improve the early run of the Integrated Multisatellite Retrievals for GPM (IMERG) by using four machine learning approaches, that is, support vector machine (SVM), random forest (RF), artificial neural network (ANN), and extreme gradient boosting (XGB). The cloud properties are selected as the predictors in addition to the original IMERG in these approaches. All of the four approaches show similar improvement, with 53%–60% reduction of root-mean-square error (RMSE) compared with the original IMERG in a humid area, that is, the Dongjiang River basin (DJR) in southeastern China. The improvements are even greater in a semiarid area, that is, the Fenhe River basin (FHR) in central China, where the RMSE reduction ranges from 63% to 66%. The products generated by the machine learning methods perform similarly to or even outperform the final run of IMERG. Feature importance analysis, a technique to evaluate input features based on how useful they are in predicting a target variable, indicates that the cloud height and the brightness temperature are the most useful information in improving satellite precipitation products, followed by the atmospheric reflectivity and the surface temperature. This study shows that a more accurate NRT precipitation product can be produced by combining machine learning approaches and cloud information, which is of importance for hydrological applications that require NRT precipitation information including flood monitoring.
