In the petroleum and coal industries, digital image technology and acoustic emission technology are employed to study rock properties, but both exhibit flaws during data processing. Digital image technology is vulnerable to interference from fractures and scaling, leading to potential loss of image data; while acoustic emission technology is not hindered by these issues, noise from rock destruction can interfere with the electrical signals, causing errors. The monitoring errors of these techniques can undermine the effectiveness of rock damage analysis. To address this issue, this paper focuses on the restoration of image data acquired through digital image technology, leveraging deep learning techniques, and using soft and hard rocks made of similar materials as research subjects, an improved Incremental Transformer image algorithm is employed to repair distorted or missing strain nephograms during uniaxial compression experiments. The concrete implementation entails using a comprehensive training set of strain nephograms derived from digital image technology, fabricating masks for absent image segments, and predicting strain nephograms with full strain detail. Additionally, we adopt deep separable convolutional networks to optimize the algorithm's operational efficiency. Based on this, the analysis of rock damage is conducted using the repaired strain nephograms, achieving a closer correlation with the actual physical processes of rock damage compared to conventional digital image technology and acoustic emission techniques. In recent years, deep learning has found widespread application in SAR image object detection. However, when detecting multi-scale targets against complex backgrounds, these models often struggle to strike a balance between accuracy and speed. Furthermore, there is a continuous need to enhance the performance of current models. Hence, this paper proposes LRMSNet, a new multi-scale target detection model designed specifically for SAR images in complex backgrounds. Firstly, the paper introduces an attention module designed to enhance contextual information aggregation and capture global features, which is integrated into a backbone network with an expanded receptive field for improving SAR image feature extraction. Secondly, this paper develops an information aggregation module to effectively fuse different feature layers of the backbone network. Lastly, to better integrate feature information at various levels, this paper designs a multi-scale aggregation network. We validate the effectiveness of our method on three different SAR object detection datasets (MSAR-1.0, SSDD, and HRSID). Experimental results demonstrate that LRMSNet achieves outstanding performance with a mean average accuracy (mAP) of 95.2%, 98.9%, and 93.3% on the MSAR-1.0, SSDD, and HRSID datasets, respectively, with only 3.46 M parameters and 12.6 G floating-point operation cost (FLOPs). When compared with existing SAR object detection models on the MSAR-1.0 dataset, LRMSNet achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance, showcasing its superiority in addressing SAR detection challenges in large-scale complex environments and across various object scales. In response to the numerous challenges faced by traditional human pose recognition methods in practical applications, such as dense targets, severe edge occlusion, limited application scenarios, complex backgrounds, and poor recognition accuracy when targets are occluded, this paper proposes a YOLO-Pose algorithm for human pose estimation. The specific improvements are divided into four parts. Firstly, in the Backbone section of the YOLO-Pose model, lightweight GhostNet modules are introduced to reduce the model's parameter count and computational requirements, making it suitable for deployment on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Secondly, the ACmix attention mechanism is integrated into the Neck section to improve detection speed during object judgment and localization. Furthermore, in the Head section, key points are optimized using coordinate attention mechanisms, significantly enhancing key point localization accuracy. Lastly, the paper improves the loss function and confidence function to enhance the model's robustness. Experimental results demonstrate that the improved model achieves a 95.58% improvement in mAP50 and a 69.54% improvement in mAP50-95 compared to the original model, with a reduction of 14.6 M parameters. The model achieves a detection speed of 19.9 ms per image, optimized by 30% and 39.5% compared to the original model. Underwater acoustic (UWA) channel prediction technology, as an important topic in UWA communication, has played an important role in UWA adaptive communication network and underwater target perception. Although many significant advancements have been achieved in underwater acoustic channel prediction over the years, a comprehensive summary and introduction is still lacking. As the first comprehensive overview of UWA channel prediction, this paper introduces past works and algorithm implementation methods of channel prediction from the perspective of linear, kernel-based, and deep learning approaches. Importantly, based on available at-sea experiment datasets, this paper compares the performance of current primary UWA channel prediction algorithms under a unified system framework, providing researchers with a comprehensive and objective understanding of UWA channel prediction. Finally, it discusses the directions and challenges for future research. The survey finds that linear prediction algorithms are the most widely applied, and deep learning, as the most advanced type of algorithm, has moved this field into a new stage. A deep learning-based Visual Inertial SLAM technique is proposed in this paper to ensure accurate autonomous localization of mobile robots in environments with dynamic objects. Addressing the limitations of real-time performance in deep learning algorithms and the poor robustness of pure visual geometry algorithms, this paper presents a deep learning-based Visual Inertial SLAM technique. Firstly, a non-blocking model is designed to extract semantic information from images. Then, a motion probability hierarchy model is proposed to obtain prior motion probabilities of feature points. For image frames without semantic information, a motion probability propagation model is designed to determine the prior motion probabilities of feature points. Furthermore, considering that the output of inertial measurements is unaffected by dynamic objects, this paper integrates inertial measurement information to improve the estimation accuracy of feature point motion probabilities. An adaptive threshold-based motion probability estimation method is proposed, and finally, the positioning accuracy is enhanced by eliminating feature points with excessively high motion probabilities. The annotation of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images plays an important role in deep learning-based MRI segmentation tasks. Semi-automatic annotation algorithms are helpful for improving the efficiency and reducing the difficulty of MRI image annotation. However, the existing semi-automatic annotation algorithms based on deep learning have poor pre-annotation performance in the case of insufficient segmentation labels. In this paper, we propose a semi-automatic MRI annotation algorithm based on semi-weakly supervised learning. In order to achieve a better pre-annotation performance in the case of insufficient segmentation labels, semi-supervised and weakly supervised learning were introduced, and a semi-weakly supervised learning segmentation algorithm based on sparse labels was proposed. In addition, in order to improve the contribution rate of a single segmentation label to the performance of the pre-annotation model, an iterative annotation strategy based on active learning was designed. The experimental results on public MRI datasets show that the proposed algorithm achieved an equivalent pre-annotation performance when the number of segmentation labels was much less than that of the fully supervised learning algorithm, which proves the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Simple Summary: Breast cancer is a significant cause of female cancer-related deaths in the US. Checking how severe the cancer is helps in planning treatment. Modern AI methods are good at grading cancer, but they are not used much in hospitals yet. We developed and utilized ensemble deep learning algorithms for addressing the tasks of classifying (1) breast cancer subtype and (2) breast cancer invasiveness from whole slide image (WSI) histopathology slides. The ensemble models used were based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) known for extracting distinctive features crucial for accurate classification. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive analysis of these models and the used methodology for breast cancer diagnosis tasks. Cancer diagnosis and classification are pivotal for effective patient management and treatment planning. In this study, a comprehensive approach is presented utilizing ensemble deep learning techniques to analyze breast cancer histopathology images. Our datasets were based on two widely employed datasets from different centers for two different tasks: BACH and BreakHis. Within the BACH dataset, a proposed ensemble strategy was employed, incorporating VGG16 and ResNet50 architectures to achieve precise classification of breast cancer histopathology images. Introducing a novel image patching technique to preprocess a high-resolution image facilitated a focused analysis of localized regions of interest. The annotated BACH dataset encompassed 400 WSIs across four distinct classes: Normal, Benign, In Situ Carcinoma, and Invasive Carcinoma. In addition, the proposed ensemble was used on the BreakHis dataset, utilizing VGG16, ResNet34, and ResNet50 models to classify microscopic images into eight distinct categories (four benign and four malignant). For both datasets, a five-fold cross-validation approach was employed for rigorous training and testing. Preliminary experimental results indicated a patch classification accuracy of 95.31% (for the BACH dataset) and WSI image classification accuracy of 98.43% (BreakHis). Time series data complexity presents new challenges in clustering analysis across fields such as electricity, energy, industry, and finance. Despite advances in representation learning and clustering with Variational Autoencoders (VAE) based deep learning techniques, issues like the absence of discriminative power in feature representation, the disconnect between instance reconstruction and clustering objectives, and scalability challenges with large datasets persist. This paper introduces a novel deep time series clustering approach integrating VAE with metric learning. It leverages a VAE based on Gated Recurrent Units for temporal feature extraction, incorporates metric learning for joint optimization of latent space representation, and employs the sum of log likelihoods as the clustering merging criterion, markedly improving clustering accuracy and interpretability. One of the most important strategies used to mitigate the adverse impacts of traffic growth on mobile networks is caching. By caching at the edge, the backhaul traffic load is reduced, and the quality of service for the user is increased. Developing an effective caching algorithm requires accurate prediction of the future popularity of the content, which is a challenging issue. In recent years, deep learning models have achieved high predictive accuracy due to advancements in data availability and increased computing power. In this paper, we present a caching algorithm called the user preference-aware content caching algorithm (UPACA). This algorithm is specifically designed for an edge content delivery platform where users can access content services provided by a remote content provider. UPACA operates in two steps. In the first step, the proposed collaborative filtering-based popularity prediction algorithm (CFPA) is used to predict future content popularities. CFPA utilizes a gated residual variational autoencoder collaborative filtering model to predict users' future preferences and calculate the future popularity of content. This algorithm considers the popularity of the content as well as the number and timing of content requests. Ship detection and identification play pivotal roles in ensuring navigation safety and facilitating efficient maritime traffic management. Aiming at ship detection in complex environments, which often faces problems such as the dense occlusion of ship targets, low detection accuracy, and variable environmental conditions, in this paper, we propose a ship detection algorithm CSD-YOLO (Context guided block module, Slim-neck, Deformable large kernel attention-You Only Look Once) based on the deformable large kernel attention (D-LKA) mechanism, which was improved based on YOLOv8 to enhance its performance. This approach integrates several innovations to bolster its performance. Initially, the utilization of the Context Guided Block module (CG block) enhanced the c2f module of the backbone network, thereby augmenting the feature extraction capabilities and enabling a more precise capture of the key image information. Subsequently, the introduction of a novel neck architecture and the incorporation of the slim-neck module facilitated more effective feature fusion, thereby enhancing both the accuracy and efficiency of detection. Furthermore, the algorithm incorporates a D-LKA mechanism to dynamically adjust the convolution kernel shape and size, thereby enhancing the model's adaptability to varying ship target shapes and sizes. To address data scarcity in complex marine environments, the experiments utilized a fused dataset comprising the SeaShips dataset and a proprietary dataset. The experimental results demonstrate that the CSD-YOLO algorithm outperformed the YOLOv8n algorithm across all model evaluation metrics. Specifically, the precision rate (precision) was 91.5%, the recall rate (recall) was 89.5%, and the mean accuracy (mAP) was 91.5%. Compared to the benchmark algorithm, the Recall was improved by 0.7% and the mAP was improved by 0.4%. Studies indicate cardiac arrhythmia is one of the leading causes of death in the world. The risk of a stroke may be reduced when an irregular and fast heart rate is diagnosed. Since it is non-invasive, electrocardiograms are often used to detect arrhythmias. Human data input may be error-prone and time-consuming because of these limitations. For early detection of heart rhythm problems, it is best to use deep learning models. In this paper, a hybrid bio-inspired algorithm has been proposed by combining whale optimization (WOA) with adaptive particle swarm optimization (APSO). The WOA is a recently developed meta-heuristic algorithm. APSO is used to increase convergence speed. When compared to conventional optimization methods, the two techniques work better together. MIT-BIH dataset has been utilized for training, testing and validating this model. The recall, accuracy, and specificity are used to measure efficiency of the proposed method. This paper extends our previous method for COVID-19 diagnosis, proposing an enhanced solution for detecting COVID-19 from computed tomography (CT) images using a lean transfer learning-based model. To decrease model misclassifications, two key steps of image processing were employed. Firstly, the uppermost and lowermost slices were removed, preserving sixty percent of each patient's slices. Secondly, all slices underwent manual cropping to emphasize the lung areas. Subsequently, resized CT scans (224 × 224) were input into an Xception transfer learning model with a modified output. Both Xception's architecture and pretrained weights were leveraged in the method. A big and rigorously annotated database of CT images was used to verify the method. The number of patients/subjects in the dataset is more than 5000, and the number and shape of the slices in each CT scan varies greatly. Verification was made both on the validation partition and on the test partition of unseen images. Results on the COV19-CT database showcased not only improvement from our previous solution and the baseline but also comparable performance to the highest-achieving methods on the same dataset. Further validation studies could explore the scalability and adaptability of the developed methodologies across diverse healthcare settings and patient populations. The identification research of hydrogenation catalyst information has always been one of the most important businesses in the chemical industry. In order to aid researchers in efficiently screening high-performance catalyst carriers and tackle the pressing challenge at hand, it is imperative to find a solution for the intelligent recognition of hydrogenation catalyst images. To address the issue of low recognition accuracy caused by adhesion and stacking of hydrogenation catalysts, An image recognition algorithm of hydrogenation catalyst based on FPNC Net was proposed in this paper. In the present study, Resnet50 backbone network was used to extract the features, and spatially-separable convolution kernel was used to extract the multi-scale features of catalyst fringe. In addition, to effectively segment the adhesive regions of stripes, FPN (Feature Pyramid Network) is added to the backbone network for deep and shallow feature fusion. Introducing an attention module to adaptively adjust weights can effectively highlight the target features of the catalyst. The experimental results showed that the FPNC Net model achieved an accuracy of 94.2% and an AP value improvement of 19.37% compared to the original CenterNet model. A 3D reconstruction enables an effective geometric representation to support various applications. Recently, learning‐based multi‐view stereo (MVS) algorithms have emerged, replacing conventional hand‐crafted features with convolutional neural network‐encoded deep representation to reduce feature matching ambiguity, leading to a more complete scene recovery from imagery data. However, the state‐of‐the‐art architectures are not designed for an indoor environment with abundant weakly textured or textureless objects. This paper proposes AttentionSPP‐PatchmatchNet, a deep learning‐based MVS algorithm designed for indoor 3D reconstruction. The algorithm integrates multi‐scale feature sampling to produce global‐context‐aware feature maps and recalibrates the weight of essential features to tackle challenges posed by indoor environments. A new dataset designed exclusively for indoor environments is presented to verify the performance of the proposed network. Experimental results show that AttentionSPP‐PatchmatchNet outperforms state‐of‐the‐art algorithms with relative 132.87% and 163.55% improvements at the 10 and 2 mm threshold, respectively, making it suitable for accurate and complete indoor 3D reconstruction. A neural network model needs to be manually designed for ancient mural dynasty recognition, and this paper proposes an ancient mural dynasty recognition algorithm that is based on a neural architecture search (NAS). First, the structural edge information of mural images is extracted for use by the neural network model in recognizing mural missions. Second, an NAS algorithm that is based on contrast selection (CS) simplifies the architecture search to an incremental CS and then searches for the optimal network architecture on the mural dataset. Finally, the identified optimal network architecture is used for training and testing to complete the mural dynasty recognition task. The results show that the top accuracy of the proposed method on the mural dataset is 88.10%, the recall rate is 87.52%, and the precision rate is 87.69%. Each evaluation index used by the neural network model is superior to that of classical network models such as AlexNet and ResNet-50. Compared with NAS methods such as ASNG and MIGO, the accuracy of mural dynasty recognition is higher by an average of 4.27% when using the proposed method. The proposed method is verified on CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, ImageNet16-120 and other datasets and achieves a good recognition accuracy in the NAS-bench-201 search space, which averages 93.26%, 70.73% and 45.34%, respectively, on the abovementioned datasets. The field of network security is highly concerned with intrusion detection, which safeguards the security of computer networks. The invention and application of intrusion detection technology play indispensable roles in network security, and it is crucial to investigate and comprehend this topic. Recently, with the continuous occurrence of intrusion incidents in virus propagation networks, traditional network detection algorithms for virus propagation have encountered limitations and have struggled to detect these incidents effectively and accurately. Therefore, updating the intrusion detection algorithm of the virus-spreading network is imperative. This paper introduces a novel system for virus propagation, whose core is a graph-based neural network. By organically combining two modules—a standardization module and a computation module—this system forms a powerful GNN model. The standardization module uses two methods, while the calculation module uses three methods. Through permutation and combination, we obtain six GNN models with different characteristics. To verify their performance, we conducted experiments on the selected datasets. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has excellent capabilities, high accuracy, reasonable complexity, and excellent stability in the intrusion detection of virus-spreading networks, making the network more secure and reliable. Simple Summary: The 2021 WHO classification of central nervous system (CNS) tumors is challenging for neuroradiologists due to the central role of the molecular profile of tumors. We performed a scoping review of recent literature to assess the existing data on the power of novel data analysis tools to predict new tumor classes by imaging. We found room for performance improvement for subgroups with lower incidence (e.g., 1p/19q codeleted or IDH1/2 mutated gliomas) and patients with rare diagnoses (e.g., pediatric gliomas, midline gliomas). More data regarding functional MRI techniques need to be collected. Studies explicitly designed to assess the generalizability of AI-aided tools for predicting molecular tumor subgroups are lacking. The 2021 WHO classification of CNS tumors is a challenge for neuroradiologists due to the central role of the molecular profile of tumors. The potential of novel data analysis tools in neuroimaging must be harnessed to maintain its role in predicting tumor subgroups. We performed a scoping review to determine current evidence and research gaps. A comprehensive literature search was conducted regarding glioma subgroups according to the 2021 WHO classification and the use of MRI, radiomics, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms. Sixty-two original articles were included and analyzed by extracting data on the study design and results. Only 8% of the studies included pediatric patients. Low-grade gliomas and diffuse midline gliomas were represented in one-third of the research papers. Public datasets were utilized in 22% of the studies. Conventional imaging sequences prevailed; data on functional MRI (DWI, PWI, CEST, etc.) are underrepresented. Multiparametric MRI yielded the best prediction results. IDH mutation and 1p/19q codeletion status prediction remain in focus with limited data on other molecular subgroups. Reported AUC values range from 0.6 to 0.98. Studies designed to assess generalizability are scarce. Performance is worse for smaller subgroups (e.g., 1p/19q codeleted or IDH1/2 mutated gliomas). Pixel‐level labeling of regions of interest in an image is a key step in building a labeled training dataset for supervised deep learning networks of images. However, traditional manual labeling of cancerous regions in digital pathological images by doctors is time‐consuming and inefficient. To address this issue, this paper proposes an automatic labeling method for whole slide images, which combines clustering and edge detection techniques. The proposed method utilizes the multi‐level feature fusion model and the Long‐Short Term Memory network to discriminate the cancerous nature of the whole slide images, thereby improving the classification accuracy of the whole slide images. Subsequently, the automatic labeling of cancerous regions is achieved by integrating a density‐based clustering algorithm and an edge point extraction algorithm, both based on the discriminated results of the cancerous properties of whole slide images. Person Re-Identification falls within the scope of computer vision, acting a technique to ascertain the presence of a specified pedestrian within a video or image library. The related research is of great significance in real-world environments such as criminal investigation and statistical analysis of commercial foot traffic and has received extensive attention from the academic community. However, traditional methods such as manual extraction cannot adapt to largescale data volumes, and deep learning-based methods at this stage suffer from interference in complex environments such as similar costumes, perspective changes, and occlusion. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate the above problems. Firstly, we expand the dataset by introducing random erasure-based preprocessing of pedestrian images to enhancing the robustness and generalization capability of neural networks. Secondly, a composite attention mechanism is introduced after the network residual layer to enhance the spatial information capability and feature expression. Finally, the union loss composed of Circle Loss, Ternary Loss, and Cross Entropy Loss was chosen for network training in the loss optimization phase. This paper aims to propose a table tennis target detection (TD) method based on deep learning (DL) and multi-scale feature fusion (MFF) to improve the detection accuracy of the ball in table tennis competition, optimize the training process of athletes, and improve the technical level. In this paper, DL technology is used to improve the accuracy of table tennis TD through MFF guidance. Initially, based on the FAST Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (FAST R-CNN), the TD is carried out in the table tennis match. Then, through the method of MFF guidance, different levels of feature information are fused, which improves the accuracy of TD. Through the experimental verification on the test set, it is found that the mean Average Precision (mAP) value of the target detection algorithm (TDA) proposed here reaches 87.3%, which is obviously superior to other TDAs and has higher robustness. Deep learning is proliferating within the field of computer vision. Road damage detection technology, as its offshoot, already plays vital role in road maintenance and traffic safety. With road damage such as potholes and cracks, accurate and efficient detection results are essential for timely road safety repair and maintenance. Therefore, road damage detection algorithms based on deep learning have attracted wide attention. YOLOv5 is an advanced target detection algorithm known for its efficient detection speed and good accuracy. However, there is still room for further improvement in its performance for road damage detection. The ability of multi-scale damage detection and spatial structure capture is not perfect. Therefore, this paper proposes three improvement points to improve the accuracy of road damage detection based on YOLOv5. The first introduced module is the Non-linear Spatial Pyramidal Pooling-Fast (NSPPF) module. This module allows for better capture of detailed features of road damage areas. Non-linear transformation and fast pyramid operation improve the sensing ability and multi-scale damage detection ability. Secondly, a combination of the CoordConv and SK attention modules is constructed. The CoordConv module fuses coordinate information with features to provide a more spatially informed representation. The SK attention module also learns correlations between global and local features, enhancing the model's ability to detect damages at different scales. This paper can better capture road injuries' spatial structure and context information by combining these two modules. Finally, experimental results on the RDD2020 dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of our model. The Internet of Things (IoT) is the underlying technology that has enabled connecting daily apparatus to the Internet and enjoying the facilities of smart services. IoT marketing is experiencing an impressive 16.7% growth rate and is a nearly USD 300.3 billion market. These eye-catching figures have made it an attractive playground for cybercriminals. IoT devices are built using resource-constrained architecture to offer compact sizes and competitive prices. As a result, integrating sophisticated cybersecurity features is beyond the scope of the computational capabilities of IoT. All of these have contributed to a surge in IoT intrusion. This paper presents an LSTM-based Intrusion Detection System (IDS) with a Dynamic Access Control (DAC) algorithm that not only detects but also defends against intrusion. This novel approach has achieved an impressive 97.16% validation accuracy. Unlike most of the IDSs, the model of the proposed IDS has been selected and optimized through mathematical analysis. Additionally, it boasts the ability to identify a wider range of threats (14 to be exact) compared to other IDS solutions, translating to enhanced security. Furthermore, it has been fine-tuned to strike a balance between accurately flagging threats and minimizing false alarms. Its impressive performance metrics (precision, recall, and F1 score all hovering around 97%) showcase the potential of this innovative IDS to elevate IoT security. During the manufacturing process of printed circuit boards (PCBs), quality defects can occur, which can affect the performance and reliability of PCBs. Existing deep learning-based PCB defect detection methods are difficult to simultaneously achieve the goals of high detection accuracy, fast detection speed, and small number of parameters. Therefore, this paper proposes a PCB defect detection algorithm based on CDI-YOLO. Firstly, the coordinate attention mechanism (CA) is introduced to improve the backbone and neck network of YOLOv7-tiny, enhance the feature extraction capability of the model, and thus improve the accuracy of model detection. Secondly, DSConv is used to replace part of the common convolution in YOLOv7-tiny to achieve lower computing costs and faster detection speed. Finally, Inner-CIoU is used as the bounding box regression loss function of CDI-YOLO to speed up the bounding box regression process. The experimental results show that the method achieves 98.3% mAP on the PCB defect dataset, the detection speed is 128 frames per second (FPS), the parameters is 5.8 M, and the giga floating-point operations per second (GFLOPs) is 12.6 G. Researchers have explored various methods to fully exploit the all-weather characteristics of Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images to achieve high-precision, real-time, computationally efficient, and easily deployable ship target detection models. These methods include Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) algorithms and deep learning approaches such as RCNN, YOLO, and SSD, among others. While these methods outperform traditional algorithms in SAR ship detection, challenges still exist in handling the arbitrary ship distributions and small target features in SAR remote sensing images. Existing models are complex, with a large number of parameters, hindering effective deployment. This paper introduces a YOLOv7 oriented bounding box SAR ship detection model (YOLOv7oSAR). The model employs a rotation box detection mechanism, uses the KLD loss function to enhance accuracy, and introduces a Bi-former attention mechanism to improve small target detection. By redesigning the network's width and depth and incorporating a lightweight P-ELAN structure, the model effectively reduces its size and computational requirements. The proposed model achieves high-precision detection results on the public RSDD dataset (94.8% offshore, 66.6% nearshore), and its generalization ability is validated on a custom dataset (94.2% overall detection accuracy). Due to the issues of remote sensing object detection algorithms based on deep learning, such as a high number of network parameters, large model size, and high computational requirements, it is challenging to deploy them on small mobile devices. This paper proposes an extremely lightweight remote sensing aircraft object detection network based on the improved YOLOv5n. This network combines Shufflenet v2 and YOLOv5n, significantly reducing the network size while ensuring high detection accuracy. It substitutes the original CIoU and convolution with EIoU and deformable convolution, optimizing for the small-scale characteristics of aircraft objects and further accelerating convergence and improving regression accuracy. Additionally, a coordinate attention (CA) mechanism is introduced at the end of the backbone to focus on orientation perception and positional information. We conducted a series of experiments, comparing our method with networks like GhostNet, PP-LCNet, MobileNetV3, and MobileNetV3s, and performed detailed ablation studies. The experimental results on the Mar20 public dataset indicate that, compared to the original YOLOv5n network, our lightweight network has only about one-fifth of its parameter count, with only a slight decrease of 2.7% in mAP@0.5. This paper proposes an explainable recommendation algorithm based on deep learning for developing a transparent and explainable recommendation system. The proposed algorithm combines a multi-feature fusion model for text sentiment analysis and the innovative DeepxDeepFM recommendation model to provide accurate and interpretable recommendations. First, Bi-LSTM and MCNN are employed to extract multi-dimensional features from comment data. Then, the DeepxDeepFM recommendation model is used explicitly for comment data with numerous feature vectors and significant linear changes. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that our proposed explainable recommendation algorithm increases the accuracy by 1.57% and decreases the root mean square error by 2.69%, contributing to higher model performance. Malaria is one of the major global health threats. Microscopic examination has been designated as the "gold standard" for malaria detection by the World Health Organization. However, it heavily relies on the experience of doctors, resulting in long diagnosis time, low efficiency, and a high risk of missed or misdiagnosed cases. To alleviate the pressure on healthcare workers and achieve automated malaria detection, numerous target detection models have been applied to the blood smear examination for malaria cells. This paper introduces the multi-level attention split network (MAS-Net) that improves the overall detection performance by addressing the issues of information loss for small targets and mismatch between the detection receptive field and target size. Therefore, we propose the split contextual attention structure (SPCot), which fully utilizes contextual information and avoids excessive channel compression operations, reducing information loss and improving the overall detection performance of malaria cells. In the shallow detection layer, we introduce the multi-scale receptive field detection head (MRFH), which better matches targets of different scales and provides a better detection receptive field, thus enhancing the performance of malaria cell detection. On the NLM—Malaria Dataset provided by the National Institutes of Health, the improved model achieves an average accuracy of 75.9% in the public dataset of Plasmodium vivax (malaria)-infected human blood smear. Considering the practical application of the model, we introduce the Performance-aware Approximation of Global Channel Pruning (PAGCP) to compress the model size while sacrificing a small amount of accuracy. This paper presents a practical contamination detection system for camera lenses using image analysis with deep learning. The proposed system can detect contamination in camera digital images through contamination learning utilizing deep learning, and it aims to prevent performance degradation of intelligent vision systems due to lens contamination in cameras. This system is based on the object detection algorithm YOLO (v5n, v5s, v5m, v5l, and v5x), which is trained with 4000 images captured under different lighting and background conditions. The trained models showed that the average precision improves as the algorithm size increases, especially for YOLOv5x, which showed excellent efficiency in detecting droplet contamination within 23 ms. They also achieved an average precision (mAP@0.5) of 87.46%, recall (mAP@0.5:0.95) of 51.90%, precision of 90.28%, recall of 81.47%, and F1 score of 85.64%. As a proof of concept, we demonstrated the identification and removal of contamination on camera lenses by integrating a contamination detection system and a transparent heater-based cleaning system. The wrist is one of the most complex joints in our body, composed of eight bones. Therefore, measuring the angles of this intricate wrist movement can prove valuable in various fields such as sports analysis and rehabilitation. Textile stretch sensors can be easily produced by immersing an E-band in a SWCNT solution. The lightweight, cost-effective, and reproducible nature of textile stretch sensors makes them well suited for practical applications in clothing. In this paper, wrist angles were measured by attaching textile stretch sensors to an arm sleeve. Three sensors were utilized to measure all three axes of the wrist. Additionally, sensor precision was heightened through the utilization of the Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) technique, a subtype of deep learning. Rather than fixing the measurement values of each sensor to specific axes, we created an algorithm utilizing the coupling between sensors, allowing the measurement of wrist angles in three dimensions. Using this algorithm, the error angle of wrist angles measured with textile stretch sensors could be measured at less than 4.5°. In substation lightning rod meter reading data taking, the classical object detection model is not suitable for deployment in substation monitoring hardware devices due to its large size, large number of parameters, and slow detection speed, while is difficult to balance detection accuracy and real-time requirements with the existing lightweight object detection model. To address this problem, this paper constructs a lightweight object detection algorithm, YOLOv5-Meter Reading Lighting (YOLOv5-MRL), based on the improved YOLOv5 model's speed while maintaining accuracy. Then, the YOLOv5s are pruned based on the convolutional kernel channel soft pruning algorithm, which greatly reduces the number of parameters in the YOLOv5-MRL model while maintaining a certain accuracy loss. Finally, in order to facilitate the dial reading, the dial external circle fitting method is proposed to calculate the dial reading using the circular angle algorithm. The experimental results on the self-built dataset show that the YOLOv5-MRL object detection model achieves a mean average precision of 96.9%, a detection speed of 5 ms/frame, and a model weight size of 5.5 MB, making it better than other advanced dial reading models. The reliability and stability of differential protection in power transformers could be threatened by several types of inferences, including magnetizing inrush currents, current transformer saturation, and overexcitation from external faults. The robustness of deep learning applications employed for power system protection in recent years has offered solutions to deal with several disturbances. This paper presents a method for detecting internal faults in power transformers occurring simultaneously with inrush currents. It involves utilizing a data window (DW) and stacked denoising autoencoders. Unlike the conventional method, the proposed scheme requires no thresholds to discriminate internal faults and inrush currents. The performance of the algorithm was verified using fault data from a typical Korean 154 kV distribution substation. Inrush current variation and internal faults were simulated and generated in PSCAD/EMTDC, considering various parameters that affect an inrush current. The results indicate that the proposed scheme can detect the appearance of internal faults occurring simultaneously with an inrush current. Moreover, it shows promising results compared to the prevailing methods, ensuring the superiority of the proposed method. From sample N–3, the proposed DNN demonstrates accurate discrimination between internal faults and inrush currents, achieving accuracy, sensitivity, and precision values of 100%. License plate detection is an important task in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and has a wide range of applications in vehicle management, traffic control, and public safety. In order to improve the accuracy and speed of mobile recognition, an improved lightweight YOLOv5s model is proposed for license plate detection. First, an improved Stemblock network is used to replace the original Focus layer in the network, which ensures strong feature expression capability and reduces a large number of parameters to lower the computational complexity; then, an improved lightweight network, ShuffleNetv2, is used to replace the backbone network of the YOLOv5s, which makes the model lighter and ensures the detection accuracy at the same time. Then, a feature enhancement module is designed to reduce the information loss caused by the rearrangement of the backbone network channels, which facilitates the information interaction in the feature fusion process; finally, the low‐, medium‐ and high‐level features in the Shufflenetv2 network structure are fused to form the final high‐level output features. Experimental results on the CCPD dataset show that compared to other methods this paper obtains better performance and faster speed in the license plate detection task, in which the average precision mean value reaches 96.6%, and can achieve a detection speed of 43.86 frame/s, and the parameter volume is reduced to 5.07 M. As a widely used network security defense technology, network intrusion detection has more deep learning methods used to improve the performance of intrusion detection. However, this method requires a large-scale network traffic data set for training, increasing privacy leakage risk. In this paper, a network intrusion detection algorithm based on Gaussian differential privacy federated learning (NIDS-FLGDP) is proposed. NIDS-FLGDP adopts the client–server architecture of federated learning, introduces the differential privacy of the Gaussian mechanism to ensure the security of the calculation process, uses the improved FedAvg algorithm to reduce communication overhead, and uses the improved 1D CNN to participate in collaborative training for the local model. Optimal parameters for Gaussian differential privacy and the optimal number of participating clients were determined from experiments. Model accuracy rates for binary classification and multi-classification training NIDS-FLGDP are 0.97, 0.975, 0.97 and 0.97, 0.985, 0.96, respectively, for KDD CUP99, NSL_KDD, and UNSW_NB15 network intrusion detection datasets. The results show that NIDS-FLGDP improves intrusion detection performance while protecting network traffic privacy compared with the previous methods. Its applicability and effectiveness have been fully verified, which provides a practical reference for the safe processing and analysis of a large number of diversified network traffic data in the future. Ship fire may result in significant damage to its structure and large economic loss. Hence, the prompt identification of fires is essential in order to provide prompt reactions and effective mitigation strategies. However, conventional detection systems exhibit limited efficacy and accuracy in detecting targets, which has been mostly attributed to limitations imposed by distance constraints and the motion of ships. Although the development of deep learning algorithms provides a potential solution, the computational complexity of ship fire detection algorithm pose significant challenges. To solve this, this paper proposes a lightweight ship fire detection algorithm based on YOLOv8n. Initially, a dataset, including more than 4000 unduplicated images and their labels, is established before training. In order to ensure the performance of algorithms, both fire inside ship rooms and also fire on board are considered. Then after tests, YOLOv8n is selected as the model with the best performance and fastest speed from among several advanced object detection algorithms. GhostnetV2-C2F is then inserted in the backbone of the algorithm for long-range attention with inexpensive operation. In addition, spatial and channel reconstruction convolution (SCConv) is used to reduce redundant features with significantly lower complexity and computational costs for real-time ship fire detection. For the neck part, omni-dimensional dynamic convolution is used for the multi-dimensional attention mechanism, which also lowers the parameters. After these improvements, a lighter and more accurate YOLOv8n algorithm, called Ship-Fire Net, was proposed. The proposed method exceeds 0.93, both in precision and recall for fire and smoke detection in ships. In addition, the mAP@0.5 reaches about 0.9. Despite the improvement in accuracy, Ship-Fire Net also has fewer parameters and lower FLOPs compared to the original, which accelerates its detection speed. As one of the most important techniques for hyperspectral image dimensionality reduction, band selection has received considerable attention, whereas self-representation subspace clustering-based band selection algorithms have received quite a lot of attention with good effect. However, many of them lack the self-supervision of representations and ignore the multi-level spectral–spatial information of HSI and the connectivity of subspaces. To this end, this paper proposes a novel self-supervised multi-level representation learning fusion-based maximum entropy subspace clustering (MLRLFMESC) method for hyperspectral band selection. Firstly, to learn multi-level spectral–spatial information, self-representation subspace clustering is embedded between the encoder layers of the deep-stacked convolutional autoencoder and its corresponding decoder layers, respectively, as multiple fully connected layers to achieve multi-level representation learning (MLRL). A new auxiliary task is constructed for multi-level representation learning and multi-level self-supervised training to improve its capability of representation. Then, a fusion model is designed to fuse the multi-level spectral–spatial information to obtain a more distinctive coefficient matrix for self-expression, where the maximum entropy regularization (MER) method is employed to promote connectivity and the uniform dense distribution of band elements in each subspace. Finally, subspace clustering is conducted to obtain the final band subset. Experiments have been conducted on three hyperspectral datasets, and the corresponding results show that the proposed MLRLFMESC algorithm significantly outperforms several other band selection methods in classification performance. The paper presents an algorithm to approach the problem of Maximum Clique Enumeration, a well known NP-hard problem that have several real world applications. The proposed solution, called LGP-MCE, exploits Geometric Deep Learning, a Machine Learning technique on graphs, to filter out nodes that do not belong to maximum cliques and then applies an exact algorithm to the pruned network. To assess the LGP-MCE, we conducted multiple experiments using a substantial dataset of real-world networks, varying in size, density, and other characteristics. With the emergence and vigorous development of 5G technology, there is a significant surge in network usage and traffic, resulting in heightened complexity within network and IT environments. This exponential increase in activity produces a plethora of events, making conventional systems inadequate for the efficient management of 5G networks. In comparison to 4G technology, 5G technology brings forth a host of new features, one of which is the network data analytics function (NWDAF). This function grants network operators the flexibility to either employ their own data analytics methodologies based on machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) into their networks. In this paper, we present a dataset named "NWDAF-NFPP" for network function performance time series prediction, collected from a laboratory at China Telecom. The dataset is carefully anonymized to ensure maximum realism and comprehensiveness, while safeguarding sensitive information. It encompasses eight categories of network functions, with data collected at five-minute intervals. The availability of this dataset provides valuable resources for researchers to conduct time series prediction research on network element performance. Following data collection, a total of six models were employed for network element performance prediction, encompassing both machine learning and deep learning approaches. Imbalanced image datasets consist of image datasets where there is a significant disparity in the number of samples across different classes. With imbalanced image datasets, learning algorithms often tend to be biased toward the majority class samples. This leads to poor classification of minority class samples as their training is not properly conducted. It becomes more complicated when the number of samples in the minority class is very low. In this paper, a novel hierarchical algorithm is proposed for generating new data using Capsule Generative Adversarial Networks (CapsGAN) to address the class imbalance problem in imbalanced image datasets. Unlike common GAN models, the proposed method incorporates an auxiliary CapsNet to identify high‐value images in both minority and majority classes. This identification is based on the ability to detect complex relationships between low‐level and high‐level features present in capsule networks. Furthermore, the proposed CapsGAN model is conditioned to generate minority class samples based on feature vectors of last capsule layer to achieve a more balanced image dataset. For evaluating the performance of the proposed model, an image dataset called CICS was collected and introduced. Extensive experiments were also conducted using various online image datasets from different domains, with varying numbers of classes and data sizes. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed model can generate high‐quality samples in cases where the image dataset or the number of minority class samples is relatively small. Hybrid approaches combining machine learning with traditional inverse problem solution methods represent a promising direction for the further development of inverse modeling algorithms. The paper proposes an approach to emission source identification from measurement data for advection–diffusion–reaction models. The approach combines general-type source identification and post-processing refinement: first, emission source identification by measurement data is carried out by a sensitivity operator-based algorithm, and then refinement is done by incorporating a priori information about unknown sources. A general-type distributed emission source identified at the first stage is transformed into a localized source consisting of multiple point-wise sources. The second, refinement stage consists of two steps: point-wise source localization and emission rate estimation. Emission source localization is carried out using deep learning with convolutional neural networks. Training samples are generated using a sensitivity operator obtained at the source identification stage. The algorithm was tested in regional remote sensing emission source identification scenarios for the Lake Baikal region and was able to refine the emission source reconstruction results. Intelligent Fault-Tolerant Control (IFTC) refers to the applications of machine learning algorithms for fault diagnosis and design of Fault-Tolerant Control (FTC). The overall goal of the FTC is to accommodate defects in the system components while they are in use and maintain stability with little to no performance reduction. These systems are crucial for mission-critical and safety-related applications where the safety of people is at stake and service continuity is crucial. In this review paper, a systematic study has been done for the development of FTC with machine learning, deep learning, and transfer learning algorithms. The challenges and limitations faced with their possible solutions through machine learning theories for the IFTC model are lined up. This paper guides researchers on the different possible types of machine learning algorithms and their advanced forms like deep learning and transfer learning. The differences among these are highlighted by the challenges and limitations of each. The paper is significant such that most of the important literature references from the Scopus database particularly related to important electrical and mechanical industrial problems have been discussed to guide the researchers who want to apply IFTC for specific industrial problems, being the research gap. This paper introduces a deep learning method for image classification that leverages knowledge formalized as a graph created from information represented by pairs attribute/value. The proposed method investigates a loss function that adaptively combines the classical cross-entropy commonly used in deep learning with a novel penalty function. The novel loss function is derived from the representation of nodes after embedding the knowledge graph and incorporates the proximity between class and image nodes. Its formulation enables the model to focus on identifying the boundary between the most challenging classes to distinguish. Experimental results on several image databases demonstrate improved performance compared to state-of-the-art methods, including classical deep learning algorithms and recent algorithms that incorporate knowledge represented by a graph. This paper proposes a new model for creating fuzzy time series and conducting future forecasts using the Bi-directional Long Short-term Memory model (Bi-LSTM). This study contributes by using both classical machine learning and deep learning techniques. Firstly, a self-updating clustering algorithm is used to determine the optimal number of clusters for time series. Secondly, the study describes a method for determining the fuzzy relationship between elements of time series and the identified clusters. Thirdly, the developed model creates the fuzzy time series based on the established rules. Finally, forecasting for the future value using the Bi-LSTM model with some improvement in optimizing the parameters and increasing the accuracy of forecasting result. The steps of the proposed model are clearly illustrated by a numerical example. Moreover, this model also tested on various datasets, including M3, M4, and M5 datasets. By evaluating its performance using parameters such as sMAPE and RMSSE, the proposed model has shown significant enhancements when compared to existing models. We present a deep learning-based method for Visible-Infrared person Re-Identification (VI-ReID). The major contribution lies in the incorporation of co-segmentation into a multi-task learning framework for VI-ReID, where the co-segmentation concept aids in making the distributions of RGB images and IR images the same for the same identity but diverse for different identities. Accordingly, a novel multi-task learning based model, i.e., co-segmentation assisted VI-ReID (CSVI), is proposed in this paper. Specifically, the co-segmentation network first takes as the inputs the modality-shared features extracted from a set of RGB and IR images by using the VI-ReID model. Then, it exploits their semantic similarities for predicting the person masks of the common identities within the input RGB and IR images by using a cross-modality center based weight generation module and a segmentation decoder. Doing so enables the VI-ReID model to extract more additional modality-shared shape features for boosting performance. Meanwhile, the co-segmentation network implicitly establishes the interactions among the set of RGB and IR images, thus further bridging the large modality discrepancies. As the development of the Internet and IT technology, short-text based communication is so popular compared with voice based one. Chat-based communication enables rapid, short and massive exchange of message with many people, creates new social problems. 'Cross-texting' is one of them. It refers to accidentally sending a text to an unintended person during the concurrent conversations with separated multiple people. Cross-texting would be a serious problem in languages where respectful expressions are required. As text-based communication is getting popular, it is a crucial work to prevent cross-texting by detecting it in advance in languages with honorifics expression such as Korean. In this paper, we proposed two methods detecting a cross-text using a deep learning model. The first model is the formal feature vector, which models dialog by explicitly defining the politeness and completeness features. The second one is the grpah2vec based ChatGram-net model, which models the dialog based on the syllable occurrence relationship. To evaluate the detection performance, we suggest a generating method for cross-text datasets from a actual messenger corpus. Segmentation of bowel sounds (BS) events is a significant task of automatic BS monitoring. Recently, deep learning (DL) has been utilized to realize the segmentation of BS events. However, most researchers treat BS segmentation as a traditional classification problem, which causes that more precise locations for the occurrence of BS events are unable to obtained. Besides, the performance of segmentation of BS events is easily affected by thresholds of model output in practical applications. To tackle these issues, in this paper, a lightweight DL-based BS segmentation algorithm is proposed. The one-dimensional convolution layers and bidirectional gate recurrent unit (GRU) layers are adopted to enhance the ability of feature extraction. A loss function named shape loss is proposed to reduce the sensitivity of model to thresholds. Moreover, a portable BS monitoring device is developed to realize data acquisition, display and algorithm deployment. Based on this device, experiments on human and rats are conducted to verify the effectiveness of our proposed approach. Experimental results shows that the proposed method outperforms other comparison methods with the higher f1-scores and lower sensitivity to thresholds. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
