Jacques Derrida será o norte teórico desse texto, ao que ele próprio traz em linhas muito precisas ao longo de sua obra em torno da expressão “digno de seu nome”. Se há dignidade ou se algo detém uma dignidade e por ela um nome, se a palavra dignidade [Würdigkeit] ainda nos remete, como em Kant, à noção incondicional de “pessoa” e se ela pode nesse registro e, como veremos, ser estendida ao todo-outro e ainda assim inscrever uma “majestade”, é dessa forma que a expressão “digno de seu nome” atravessa a obra de Derrida quando ele inicia um incansável trabalho com a palavra, especialmente em seus escritos tardios, cuja significação não é mais objetável

Driving under the influence of cannabis (DUIC) is increasing worldwide, and cannabis is the most prevalent drug after alcohol in impaired driving cases, emphasizing the need for a reliable traffic enforcement strategy. ∆9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) detection in oral fluid has great potential for identifying recent cannabis use; however, additional data are needed on the sensitivities, specificities, and efficiencies of different oral fluid devices for detecting cannabinoids at the roadside by police during routine traffic safety enforcement efforts. At the roadside, 8945 oral fluid THC screening tests were performed with four devices: AquilaScan®, Dräger DrugTest®, WipeAlyser Reader®, and Druglizer®. A total of 530 samples screened positive for THC (5.9%) and were analyzed by liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry at multiple cutoff concentrations (2 ng/mL, 10 ng/mL, and manufacturers' recommended device cutoffs) to investigate device performance. Results varied substantially, with sensitivities of 0%–96.8%, specificities of 89.8%–98.5%, and efficiencies of 84.3%–97.8%. The Dräger DrugTest® outperformed the other devices with a 96.8% sensitivity, 97.1% specificity, and 97.0% efficiency at a 5‐ng/mL LC–MS/MS confirmation cutoff. The WipeAlyser Reader® had good performance with a 91.4% sensitivity, 97.2% specificity, and 96.4% efficiency. AquilaScan® and Druglizer® had unacceptable performance for cannabinoid detection, highlighted by sensitivity <13%. The choice of roadside oral fluid testing device must offer good analytical performance for cannabinoids because of its high prevalence of use and impact on road safety. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The recent changes in society have generated the need to transform the university teachers' practices. However, the assessment of learning is recognized as one of the processes that has not been totally modified yet. There are some aspects teachers are already doing, but at the same time, traditional practices are still observed in universities such as those based on memorization and the exam as the way to assign a grade to the students. Taking this into consideration, this article reports the results obtained from a qualitative, carried out with the implementation of discussion groups. 17 university teachers participated in the research. The information collected was analyzed in the light of the most recent theoretical background. Some features of the new assessment approaches are identified in the teachers' discourse as well as some reasons or possible situations that may be preventing them from carrying out their assessment practices accordingly with their students. This article aims to analyze the media literacy skills at work in the content shared by fans on Twitter during the #FandomsPeloVoto (#Fandomsforthe-Vote) campaign. In a convergence culture environment, media literacy comprises five skills: curation, creation, critical understanding, participation, and collaboration. Launched in May 2022, the campaign--carried out in partnership with Mídia Ninja, the National Student Union (União Nacional dos Estudantes, UNE), and the Brazilian Union of Secondary School Students (União Brasileira dos Estudantes Secundaristas, UBES)--brought together more than 100 pop culture fandoms in Brazil to mobilize 16- to 18-year-olds to obtain a voter registration card and be eligible to vote in the 2022 elections. It can be concluded that the activism of fandoms goes beyond transposing fan culture practices into the realm of political participation, also encompassing the critical interpretation of the sociopolitical issues that were part of the action and the creative production of posts on Twitter. Accordingly, #FandomsPeloVoto has aspects of political resistance, as one of its primary objectives is the removal of President Jair Bolsonaro, leader of the far right in Brazil, from power. Social network data are often constructed by incorporating reports from multiple individuals. However, it is not obvious how to reconcile discordant responses from individuals. There may be particular risks with multiply reported data if people's responses reflect normative expectations—such as an expectation of balanced, reciprocal relationships. Here, we propose a probabilistic model that incorporates ties reported by multiple individuals to estimate the unobserved network structure. In addition to estimating a parameter for each reporter that is related to their tendency of over- or under-reporting relationships, the model explicitly incorporates a term for 'mutuality', the tendency to report ties in both directions involving the same alter. Our model's algorithmic implementation is based on variational inference, which makes it efficient and scalable to large systems. We apply our model to data from a Nicaraguan community collected with a roster-based design and 75 Indian villages collected with a name-generator design. We observe strong evidence of 'mutuality' in both datasets, and find that this value varies by relationship type. Consequently, our model estimates networks with reciprocity values that are substantially different than those resulting from standard deterministic aggregation approaches, demonstrating the need to consider such issues when gathering, constructing, and analysing survey-based network data. Through an analysis of Bamako (2006), we seek to investigate the possibility of historical reparation for exploited and neglected people through film writing. The film takes place in the homonymous city, where a fictional trial is established. At stake are legal measures taken by African society against the World Bank and the IMF. We take Jacques Rancière's (1996) thinking as a reference, for whom politics is the conflict over the existence of a common scene. Closely to what Rancière postulates, Sissako's gesture is to put in dispute the possibility that the African people will be heard by large oppressive institutions that collect a debt. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus‐2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) pandemic spread rapidly and this scenario is concerning in South America, mainly in Brazil that presented more than 21 million coronavirus disease 2019 cases and 590 000 deaths. The recent emergence of novel lineages carrying several mutations in the spike protein has raised additional public health concerns worldwide. The present study describes the temporal spreading and evolution of SARS‐CoV2 in the beginning of the second pandemic wave in Brazil, highlighting the fast dissemination of the two major concerning variants (P.1 and P.2). A total of 2507 SARS‐CoV‐2 whole‐genome sequences (WGSs) with available information from the country (Brazil) and sampling date (July 2020–February 2021), were obtained and the frequencies of the lineages were evaluated in the period of the growing second pandemic wave. The results demonstrated the increasing prevalence of P.1 and P.2 lineages in the period evaluated. P.2 lineage was first detected in the middle of 2020, but a high increase occurred only in the last trimester of this same year and the spreading to all Brazilian regions. P.1 lineage emerged even later, first in the North region in December 2020 and really fast dissemination to all other Brazilian regions in January and February 2021. All SARS‐CoV‐2 WGSs of P.1 and P.2 were further separately evaluated with a Bayesian approach. The rates of nucleotide and amino acid substitutions were statistically higher in P.1 than P.2 (p < 0.01). The phylodynamic analysis demonstrated that P.2 gradually spread in all the country from September 2020 to January 2021, while P.1 disseminated even faster from December 2020 to February 2021. Skyline plots of both lineages demonstrated a slight rise in the spreading for P.2 and exponential growth for P.1. In conclusion, these data demonstrated that the P.1 (recently renamed as Gamma) and P.2 lineages have predominated in the second pandemic wave due to the very high spreading across all geographic regions in Brazil at the end of 2020 and beginning of 2021. This paper intends to discuss the relationship between media competence and fan culture, focusing on content creation shared on Twitter by fans of the Limantha ship, from the Brazilian telenovela Young Hearts (Malhação: Viva a Diferença). In order to reflect on how telenovela social issues were explored in the content shared on Twitter, we adopted Ferrés and Piscitelli’s concept of media competence. We concluded that, in addition to deepening themes dealt within the plot, fans expanded and resignified discussions based on correlations with personal reports. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Low B cell levels were described in one patient and in a second patient marked lymphopenia which resulted in T-B-NK-phenotype [[5]]. The high number of dogs and cats throughout Brazil results in an overpopulation of stray animals in urban areas, presenting a risk to public, animal health and the environment. The use of contraceptive methods, whether medicated or surgical, are indicated as a control to decrease the number of stray animals. The use of progestogens in veterinary medicine has been growing indiscriminately in recent years to control the estrous cycle of both bitches and cats in order to reduce the birth of puppies. However, these pharmacological preparations cause undesirable effects on the physiology of the females and can cause serious local or systemic diseases that can lead the animal to death. Due to their low cost, easy distribution and few requirements for their commercialization, progestogens are substances easily found in feed houses, petshops and veterinary clinics, being accessible to anyone, being the class of contraceptives most used in animals mainly by tutors who apply continuous and without a veterinary clinical basis leading to serious reproductive pathological complications. Based on this, the objective of this study was to report a clinical case on dystocia and fetal death with emphysematous changes in puppies suggestive of indiscriminate use of contraceptive medication in a mixed breed cat. This article presents the results of the research project "Media skills in Brazilian and Euro-American settings" conducted with 14 to 16 years old from public and private schools in six Brazilian cities. It was developed by the member universities of the Euro-American inter-university research network on media literacy for citizenship (ALFAMED) in Brazil. From a quantitative and qualitative perspective, it assessed the levels of each of the six dimensions of media competence (Ferrés and Piscitelli, 2015) of 499 students, taking into account their cultural practices. The results indicate that young people learn informally how to deal with media, have advanced level in the handling of technology and in language, aesthetics and ideology and values dimensions. However, in the dimensions of processes of interaction and of production and diffusion, which are related to consumption and media participation, they are at the basic/intermediate level, indicating the need for formative actions to promote learning and the development of critical thinking. There are two categories of discopathies, the cervical and the thoracolumbar. Cervical disc lesions most commonly occur between the C2-C3 cervical vertebrae. The thoracolumbar disc lesions occur most commonly between the thoracic vertebrae T12-T13 and thoracolumbar vertebrae T13-L1. Hansen hernia type I occurs by extrusion of the intervertebral disc. The Hansen hernia type II occurs by the protrusion of the intervertebral disc. In the Hansen hernia type III, spinal cord injury occurs without compression. In cervical discopathy the main clinical sign is cervicalgia. In thoracolumbar discopathy clinical signs include varying degrees of ataxia, paraparesis and paraplegia. The diagnosis of intervertebral disc disease (DDIV) is based on anamnesis, physical, neurological and complementary examination. Confirmation occurs through complementary imaging. Among the options for complementary imaging tests are simple radiography (screening test), myelography, tomography, myelotomography and, currently the best option, magnetic resonance imaging. Sensitivity to deep pain is an important prognostic indicator. The treatment can be conservative, whose main aspect is the strict confinement; or by means of surgical decompression. In cervical discopathy, decompressive surgical procedures include dorsal laminectomy, hemilaminectomy (Rarely indicated) and ventral slot (Election method). In thoracolumbar discopathy the decompressive surgical procedures include dorsal laminectomy (Funkquist type A and B, deep and modified), hemilaminectomy and mini-hemilaminectomy or pediculectomy. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the genotoxic effect of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.), beet (Beta vulgaris L.), broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica), and kale (Brassica oleracea var. acephala) grown in vegetable garden built on the deposits of coal tailings. For this, we used 72 healthy male Swiss albino mice that received juice from the vegetables in an acute or chronic treatment. Using comet assay, we determined that acute administration of the juices of all vegetables from the coal-mining area was genotoxic, and increased the DNA damage in the blood, liver, and cerebral cortex of mice. Therefore, the present data suggest that intake of vegetables cultivated over coal waste results in an increase in DNA damage in some organs; this situation may pose a risk to health. Accurate diagnosis and treatment of pain is dependent on knowledge of the variables that might alter this response. Some of these variables are the locality of the noxious stimulus, the sex of the individual, and the presence of chronic diseases. Among these chronic diseases, hypertension is considered a serious and silent disease that has been associated with hypoalgesia. The main goal of this study was to evaluate the potential nociceptive differences in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) regarding the locality of the stimulus, i.e., the temporomandibular joint or paw, the sex, and the role of ovarian hormones in a model of mechanical nociception (Von Frey test) or formalin-induced inflammatory nociception. Our results indicate that SHR had lower orofacial mechanical nociception beyond the lower mechanical nociception in the paw compared with WKY rats. In a model of formalin-induced inflammatory nociception, SHR also had decreased nociception compared with normotensive rats. We also sought to evaluate the influence of sex and ovarian hormones on orofacial mechanical nociception in SHR. We observed that female SHR had higher mechanical nociception than male SHR only in the paw, but it had higher formalin-induced orofacial nociception than male SHR. Moreover, the absence of ovarian hormones caused an increase in mean arterial pressure and a decrease in paw nociception in female SHR. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Based on the theoretical framework that transmedia literacy encourages public participation and critical understanding of fictional universes, for example, when navigating different platforms, correlating to the transmedia strategies with the main media, the interacting agent performs an attentive or polysemic reading of the fictional universe; this paper aims to analyze a number of Twitter posts made by interacting audience members of The X-Files during the launch of transmedia actions regarding the show's 10th season. In this context, the tweets will help us to reflect on the concept of transmedia literacy and how it stimulates the public's multilateralism. Marked by the convergence of television experience with new media, social TV refers to the sharing of content made through social networks and second screen applications in a synchronous way to the television flow. The phenomenon allows new appropriations, subversions and amplifications of the watercooler, that is, the intermediation of the conversation by digital platforms allows the interaction in real time between the interacting viewers, resignifying the shared experience. From this context, this article aims to reflect how social TV reinforces Wolton's concept of social bond (1996) and engenders new possibilities for the television experience. For the discussion of this issue, we analyze the content shared by the public on Twitter during the tenth season of The X-Files series. From the qualitative analysis of the 33 thousand tweets posted by the interacting viewers, we conclude that by interweaving the television stream and the always on Twitter temporality, social TV reinforces the social side of Wolton (1996) and resigns the television experience, allowing new forms of participation, collaboration and expansion of the fictional universe. That is, when navigating different platforms, correlating to the transmedia strategies with the main media, the interacting agent performs an attentive and polysemic reading of the fictional universe. From this theoretical scope, this article aims at analyzing the Twitter postings of The X-Files' interacting viewers during the launch of the 10th season's transmediation actions. In this context, the tweets will help us to reflect on the concept of transmedia literacy and how it stimulates the public's multilateralism.
