Bruchac was born on October 16, 1942 in Saratoga Springs, New York to Marion and Joseph Bruchac Jr. He grew up with his maternal grandparents in Greenfield Center in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. He has published more than 100 books including "Lasting Echoes," "Bowman's Store: A Journey to Myself," and "Long River."

She is considered a leading figure of the American Indian literary renaissance and she came from a working-class background. Her achievements are mentioned. A biography of First Nation chief, historian and storyteller Joseph Medicine Crow is presented. Crow was born on October 27, 1913 to Amy Yellowtail and Leo Medicine Crow, near Lodge Grass, Montana and died on April 3, 2016 in Billings, Montana. He attended Bacone College in Oklahoma, where he studied and completed an associate of arts degree in 1936. His works include "The Crow Indians: 100 Years of Acculturation," "Crow Migration Story," and "The Last Warrior."

A biography of historian, teacher, and storyteller Joseph M. Marshall III is presented. Marshall was born in 1945 in Rosebud Reservation, South Dakota to Hazel Lorraine Two Hawk-Marshall and Joseph Nelson Marshall Sr. He is married to Connie with whom they are raising nine children. His works include "On Behalf of the Wolf and the First Peoples," "The Dance House: Stories From Rosebud," and "The Lakota Way: Stories and Lessons for Living."

Chapter 19 of the book "A Breath of Fresh Eyre: Intertextuals and Intermedial Rewritings of Jane Eyre," is presented. It focuses on Paula Rego as an artist, painter and storyteller. It refers to her visual engagement with "Jane Eyre" as the production of metapictures of images taking shape in the mind while reading the book. An interview with Eduardo Galeano, a Latin American writer, storyteller, journalist and historian, is presented. He reveals the factors which accounts for the staying power of his book "Open Veins of Latin America." He also explains the reason he opted to labor on behalf of the voiceless instead of having a comfortable life writing for magazines or teaching in universities. Galeano then presents his views on the U.S. attitude toward Latin America. In addition, he explores the issue of injustice of poverty.

Chapter 58 of the book "Start With a Story: The Case Study Method of Teaching College Science: An NSTA Press Journals Collection" is presented. The author provides a comparison between professors who teach science through case method and the blind storytellers in Spain. He says that unlike the Spanish storytellers who got their feed back from their audience in the form of coins, such teachers seldom construct a way to assess the effectiveness of case study teaching.

The article features African American storyteller Jackie Torrence. Torrence started her career as a storyteller based on African American folklore. Her successful career brought her to different countries such as Great Britain, New Zealand and Guam. Torrence became the spokesperson for the National Storytelling Festival in 1977. She died at the age of 60 in Granite Quarry, North Carolina.
