Plant extract mediated biogenic synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) has garnered considerable attention in nanotechnology due to its promising wound healing properties. This eco-friendly and cost-effective approach utilizes natural sources, such as the ethyl acetate extract of Nigella sativaL. (N. sativa) seeds, as a reducing agent. In this study, AgNPs were synthesized biogenically using N. sativaextract, and their wound healing potential was systematically assessed. Several methods for characterization are employed, incorporating Ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) analysis were utilized to confirm successful synthesis and provide insight into the chemical and physical properties of AgNPs. When compared to a control group, human keratinocytes treated with AgNPs exhibited significantly enhanced proliferation and migration. Additionally, AgNPs were observed to increase the expression of wound-healing factors, (such as platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)) as evidenced by western blot analysis. As a potent and naturally derived medicine for wound healing, AgNPs synthesized using N. sativaseed extract (ethyl acetate extract) potentially utilize the PDGF and VEGF signaling pathways to induce their therapeutic effects. Nevertheless, additional research is necessary to clarify the underlying mechanisms and assess the long-term safety and efficacy of this environmentally friendly method for producing AgNPs, which demonstrates remarkable wound-healing capabilities.

AbstractTabernaemontana divaricata(L.) R. Br is a medicinal plant which is blongs to the family of Apocyanaceae, the whole plant extract possess many biological activities such as antioxidant activity, antiinflammatory activity and it has a very good local anesthetic and anti cancer activity. Therefore, the present study is an attempt to evaluate the present of secondary metabolites from ethanolic extract of Tabernaemontana divaricata(L.) using HPTLC analysis which was carried out to find the alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, poly phenols, steroids and tannins. In the results, the selected secondary metabolites were present in the ethanolic extract of T. divaricata(L.). Based on the results, this study can be concluded that this plant has variety of biological activities may be presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, poly phenols, steroids and tannins in it. In future by isolating and identifying these compounds may be formulated to treat the various diseases.

AbstractFree radical generation is directly associated with oxidation in foods and biological systems. Antioxidants are vital substances which possess the ability to protect the body from damage caused by free radical induced oxidative stress. The aim of the present study is to evaluate and compare the in vitroantioxidant and free radical scavenging capacity of crude and alkaloid extracts of Hybanthus enneaspermus. Antioxidants such as catalase, peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, vitamin C, vitamin E and lipid peroxidation assays were analyzed in both the extracts. The content of total tannins, phenols, flavonoids, carotenoids and alkaloids were estimated and radical scavenging activity was assayed using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydroxyl (DPPH), 2,2’ azinobis-3 ethylbenzothiozoline-6 sulfonic acid (ABTS+) cation decolourization test, superoxide radical, nitric oxide, hydroxyl radical (OH.), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) and 2 2 reducing power methods. The results confirm that the crude and alkaloid extracts of H. enneaspermusrevealed high level of secondary metabolites and antioxidant activities. H. enneaspermushas significant antioxidant properties and could serve as a good source of natural antioxidant, which may be helpful in preventing the distructive process of various oxidative stress.
